Woman gets 6 yrs prison in road-rage killing of Navy petty officer on freeway
[LA Times] Calling her behavior "outrageously reckless," a judge on Friday sentenced a young woman to six years in prison for chasing a motorcyclist on two South County freeways and causing the crash that killed him.

Darla Renee Jackson, 27, of Imperial Beach sobbed in the courtroom as she heard her punishment, stemming from the 2015 death of Zacharias Buob, a 39-year-old Navy chief petty officer.

As Chula Vista Superior Court Judge Francis Devaney ordered the sentence, Jackson lowered her head on the table in front of her, repeating the word, "No."

Jackson pleaded guilty in January to voluntary manslaughter in connection with the incident, which prosecutors have said was sparked by road rage.

Buob died following a collision that occurred after he and Jackson got into an altercation on May 28, 2015. Both had been driving along northbound Interstate 5 near E Street in South County, and then onto state route 54.

Jackson, who was driving a Nissan Altima, pursued Buob at speeds reaching up to 90 mph and crashed into his motorcycle when the traffic slowed in front of them. Buob was thrown to the ground.

She ran over him as she swerved her car to avoid the fallen motorcycle. Buob died later at a hospital.

"Whatever the purpose, she chased. She sped. She followed too closely. and she hunted him down," Deputy District Atty. Laura Evans said during the sentencing hearing.

"Oh, my God. Oh, my God, no!" Jackson said moments before sheriff’s deputies led her out of the courtroom.

Inert U.S. B61-12 nuke bomb dusted off and tested, passes tests
[Bloomberg] Albuquerque, N.M. (AP) -- Scientists at Sandia National Laboratories are claiming success with the first in a new series of test flights involving an upgraded version of a nuclear bomb that has been part of the U.S. arsenal for decades.

Work on the B61-12 has been ongoing for years, and government officials say the latest tests using mock versions of the bomb will be vital to the refurbishing effort.

An F-16 from Nellis Air Force Base dropped an inert version of the weapon over the Nevada desert last month to test its non-nuclear functions as well as the plane's ability to carry the bomb.

With a mere puff of dust, the mock bomb landed in a dry lake bed at the Tonopah Test Range.

"It's great to see things all come together: the weapon design, the test preparation, the aircraft, the range and the people who made it happen," Anna Schauer, director of Sandia's Stockpile Resource Center, said in a statement.

Scientists are planning to spend months analyzing the data gathered from the test.

Georgia native Abdullah Rashid aka Devon James Miller now on patrol for 'sharia' in Minneapolis
[StarTribune] A man trying to impose what he calls "the civil part of the sharia law" in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis has sparked anger among local residents and Muslim leaders.
Devon shown here wearing his Pakol (pancake hat) which he purchased on Amazon.
Abdullah Rashid, 22, a Georgia native who moved to Cedar-Riverside last year, has been making the rounds in the Somali-dominated neighborhood, telling people not to drink, use drugs or interact with the opposite sex. If he sees Muslim women he believes are dressed inappropriately, he approaches them and suggests they should wear a jilbab, a long, flowing garment. And he says he's recruiting others to join the effort.

But local Muslim leaders are sounding the alarm.
They can recognize an FBI plant when they see one.
They are working to stop Rashid's group, General Presidency of the Religious Affairs and Welfare of the Ummah, and have notified Minneapolis police, who say he's being banned from a Cedar-Riverside property. Some say the group is preying on vulnerable young Muslims in a community that has dealt with national scrutiny around radicalization and terrorism.

"What he's doing is wrong and doesn't reflect the community at all," said Jaylani Hussein, executive director of the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

North Korea rolls out missiles, other weaponry at parade (Video)
[ABC] North Korea rolled out intercontinental ballistic missiles and other military hardware at a massive parade on Saturday to celebrate the birthday of the country's late founder, as third-generation leader Kim Jong Un looked on in delight.

State television showed Kim, wearing a black suit and white shirt, stepping out of a limousine and saluting his honor guard before walking down a red carpet. He then stepped up to a podium and clapped with senior government officials to address the thousands of soldiers and civilians taking part in the parade at Kim Il Sung Square in Pyongyang, the capital.

The festivities, celebrating the 105th birthday of Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Un's grandfather, took place amid concerns that North Korea is possibly preparing for its sixth nuclear test or a significant rocket launch, such as its first flight test of an ICBM.

China-Japan-Koreas
Chinese Components Found in North Korean Rockets Despite Sanctions
[Breitbart] China seems to be having second thoughts about indulging the deranged Kim regime in North Korea for so long, but it will not be easy for Beijing to downplay the amount of assistance it has given Pyongyang’s nuclear missile program over the years.

The Washington Post writes of a North Korean booster rocket falling into South Korean waters after a major satellite launch last year, and the South Koreans discovering that many of its key components were purchased from Chinese businesses.

U.N. officials sought comment from these Chinese firms after preparing a report on the rocket configuration but "received only silence." That is not surprising since the U.N. report found that "sensitive software and other items specifically banned for export to North Korea under U.N. Security Council sanctions" were sold by the Chinese as well, and some of the shipments occurred within the last 18 months.

Afghan official: Massive US bomb death toll rises to 94
The number of militants killed in an attack by the largest non-nuclear weapon ever used in combat by the US military has risen to 94, an Afghan official said Saturday.
Hajji PX/BX and dozens of Chinese motorcycles also destroyed.
Ataullah Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor in Nangarhar, said the number of Islamic State group dead was up from the 36 reported a day earlier. A Ministry of Defense official had said Friday the number of dead could rise as officials assessed the bomb site in Achin district.

"Fortunately there is no report of civilians being killed in the attack," Khogyani said.
No report of latrines destroyed or damaged either.

#3  Panic, chaos at Penn Station during rush hour
NEW YORK -- Panic ensued inside a packed Penn Station during the already-chaotic Friday night commute, leading to thousands of terrified people to flee after false reports of gunfire in the nation’s busiest train station.

The New Jersey Transit train became disabled in the Hudson River tunnel late Friday afternoon, when Amtrak was experiencing overhead power problems. A New Jersey Transit spokeswoman said the train finally reached New York’s Penn Station in the early evening.

The already chaotic scene escalated to pandemonium when a passenger from the disabled train became belligerent and sparked a stampede among passengers leaving the overcrowded station...

Sixteen people were injured in the chaos, the FDNY said in a tweet.

What Would Happen If Kim Jong-Un Launched A Nuclear Strike?
[Daily Caller] Dozens upon dozens of missiles take flight.

For years, the world had heard warnings, but most doubted the day would ever come. Most missiles fall before allied defenses, but one finds its mark -- it’s the one that matters most. In a flash, hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people perish.

Would North Korea fire off a nuclear weapon? No one knows for certain, but what we do know is that the above scenario is exactly what an aggressive and increasingly-powerful North Korea has been threatening for decades. While the reclusive regime may have previously lacked the necessary weaponry, the North now has the kind of capabilities to turn at least some of its threats into promises.

The U.S. and its East Asian allies have strategic defense assets in position, but war is full of uncertainties. "People think missile defenses are a magic wand. They aren’t," Jeffrey Lewis, a renowned arms expert, told The Daily Caller News Foundation (TheDCNF).

University administration on Thursday suspended 10 students for their alleged role in on-campus violence on March 21.

The suspension means they can’t enter their departments.

"Abdur Rehman and Saimullah of Institute of Geology, Usman Rang Elahi of Hailey College of Commerce, Muhammad Azeem Qureshi of Islamic Studies, Hidayatullah and Bahadur Khan of the Institute of Biochemistry, Osama bin Shafaat of Department of Space Science, Abdul Baseer and Naqeebullah of Sheikh Zayed Islamic Center and Waleed Mansoor of University Law College [allegedly] violated university rules and created a law and order situation on the campus. They have been given seven days to reply to the charge sheet," PU front man Khuram Shahzad said in a statement.

He said a phase-wise disciplinary action against the students involved in on-campus violence had been initiated.

"After their identification action was taken against 17 students initially," he said, adding the details of some seven ’outsiders’ involved in violence had also been provided to police for further action.

The front man said the administration would implement recommendations of the inquiry committee.

On March 21, a clash had taken place between the members of Islami Jamaat Tulba and Pakhtun students over the issue of holding a cultural function. Following the incident police had placed in durance vile

Former FEC Chairwoman Calls for ‘Regulations’ of Political Speech
[HEATST] The former Federal Election Commission chairwoman Ann M. Ravel says that political speech must be controlled on social media. She presented her remarks in a speech at UC Berkeley, calling for regulations against "fake news."

Speaking at an event called "Future of Democracy," Ravel argued the proliferation of "fake news" and political advertising on platforms like Facebook influenced elections. She warned that the lack of disclosure by the creators of these campaigns was becoming a huge problem.

"We know that there’s a lot of campaigning that’s moved to the internet, whether it’s through fake news or just outright advertising and there is almost no regulation of this, very little," she said. "And so that the disclosure that we expect as to who is behind campaigns is not going to exist soon"

"Some people are even predicting that by 2020 most of the advertising is going to move from television to the internet, and I think this is a serious issue that requires a lot of discussion," continued Ravel.

During her tenure as the chairwoman of the FEC, Ravel previously called for right-leaning websites like the Drudge Report to be "regulated," and blamed hostile responses towards her proposals on "misogyny." She claimed it was within the purview of the Federal Election Commission to oversee internet political activities, including the airing of political viewpoints.

Top Al-Qaeda leader killed in Yemen’s Shabwah province
Ooooohhhhh -- another Number 3 gone curley toes up?
[AA.TR] A big shot of the al-Qaeda terrorist group was killed by armed rustics on Friday in Yemen’s southeastern Shabwah province, according to a local security source.

"Ahmed Awad Barhamah was ambushed and killed by local rustics," the source, preferring anonymity for security reasons, told Anadolu Agency.

According to the same source, Barhamah was waylaid by members of the Baudah tribe near his home in Shabwah’s eastern Rawdah directorate.

The Baudah tribe accuses al-Qaeda’s local affiliate of killing two of its members some six months ago in the same province.

Al-Qaeda in Yemen

...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirate after seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues...

Islamic State mufti killed in Mosul air strike, Iraqi forces say
[BBC] One of the most senior religious leaders in the Islamic State (IS) group has been killed in west Mosul, according to Iraqi forces.

Abdullah al-Badrani, also known as Abu Ayoub al-Atar, reportedly died in an air strike by the US-led coalition on Thursday. Al-Badrani issued many of the group's dictates, leading to the torture, death and sexual abuse of civilians.

Iraqi security forces are trying to retake al-Nuri mosque in the old city.

The Islamic State group has made its name feared and reviled through the very public atrocities and human rights abuses it has committed against whole communities. Abu Ayoub al-Atar was infamous in Mosul and beyond for the religious decisions - or fatwas - he issued that permitted some of these acts. He is believed to have given the justification for the enslavement and sexual abuse of women from the Yazidi minority in northern Iraq.

More recently, he has given the authority for IS to continue to attack civilians in the eastern side of Mosul, which Iraqi forces have recaptured. He called the civilians apostates who deserve to be killed.

Suspected IS Member Deported from Philippines
[An Nahar] A Kuwaiti man suspected to be a member of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group was Friday deported by the Philippines to face charges at home, a justice department official said.

Hussein al-Dhafiri, one of the two suspected IS members enjugged
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
in the Philippines last month, was flown out of the country to Kuwait, undersecretary Erickson Balmes said.

A statement from the Kuwaiti embassy said Dhafiri was due to be tried in his home country.

"Evidence obtained by Kuwait's state security agencies also showed that he is planning to carry out terroristic attacks in the State of Kuwait," the statement said.

Dhafiri was arrested along with a Syrian woman Rahaf Zina, also named as a member of the jihadist group.

Zina and Dhafiri married after her high-ranking IS commander husband was killed in Syria, said Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre.

He earlier said the pair had entered the country as part of plans for "a bombing operation" in the Philippines or Kuwait.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has warned that IS members might make their way into the country by infiltrating its Moslem communities, concentrated in the south of the largely Catholic country.

The Philippines has been battling with Moslem bad boy groups for years in the remote southern region, some of whom have since pledged allegiance to IS.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Withdrawing Lebanese forces from Syria
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Roles have ironically reversed in Syria with the conflict and the power of Damascus now coming under the watch of Lebanese militias.

Seen in this perspective, we will consider that Hezbollah militias are Lebanese forces, and in fact, are practically Lebanese as they consider themselves equivalent to the Lebanese army. This situation takes us back to a time when there were popular demands in Leb as well as international calls to withdraw Syrian forces from Leb.

The withdrawal of Hezbollah and other forces and militias from Syria is the main trigger of the debate between the US and Russian governments, as part of the discussions held to find a peaceful solution. The Americans want to end the presence of foreign armed forces supporting the Syrian regime, mainly Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, Lebanese Hezbollah and the Iraqi, Pak, Afghan and other foreign militias.

Iran Says US Sanctions Against Suleimani’s Brother Illegal
Send the international police, then. Oh wait -- we're the international police.
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] Iran said on Friday that new US sanctions imposed against the brother of the high-profile commander of the Revolutionary Guards’ foreign operations arm, Qassem Suleimani, were illegal.

The US Treasury added Sohrab Suleimani, along with the Tehran Prisons Organization which he recently oversaw, to its list of individuals and entities facing sanctions on Thursday for alleged "human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
violations".

"The US government with its failed domestic and international record is not in a position to comment or act on the human rights situation in other countries," foreign ministry front man Bahram Qassemi said.

Sohrab is the younger brother of Major General Qassem Sueimani, who oversees Iranian operations in Iraq and Syria.

Yemeni army storm Khalid Bin Walid Camp in the west of Taiz
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Yemeni army stormed the strategic camp of Khalid bin Walid from the western side of the city of Taiz.

The army engaged in violent festivities with Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
and Saleh militias inside the camp, Al Arabiya sources reported.

The legitimate forces approached from the north-west of the camp, reinforced by artillery and missiles cover. They were also supported by Arab coalition aircrafts and warships that were located near the port of al-Mocha.

According to the same sources, after the intensive shelling, several Houthi militias fled towards the south. Thus, the army and resistance forces seized control of Jabal al-Nar, and the region surrounding the camp.

On the other hand, the coalition forces intensified their raids targeting militia hubs and gatherings in the districts of Lehya and al-Dhahi in the north of Hodeidah, as well as other districts in Durayhimi in the south of Hudaydah.

Coalition raids in the south-east of Midi have resulted in the deaths of many Houthi and Saleh militiamen.

Delta OKs offers of up to $9,950 to flyers who give up seats
[Breitbart] In an internal memo obtained Friday by The Associated Press, Delta Air Lines said gate agents can offer up to $2,000, up from a previous maximum of $800, and supervisors can offer up to $9,950, up from $1,350.

United is reviewing its policies, including incentives for customers, and will announce any actions by April 30, a spokeswoman said. Other airlines did not immediately comment on whether they would raise their limits on passenger compensation.

When there aren’t enough seats, airlines usually ask for volunteers by offering travel vouchers, gift cards or cash.

Last year Delta got more passengers to give up their seats than any other U.S. airline, partly by paying more than most of the others.

As a result, it had the lowest rate among the largest U.S. airlines of bumping people off flights against their will -- something that is legal but alienates customers and requires the airline to pay compensation of up to $1,350 per person.
...
Delta no doubt hopes that gate agents and their supervisors won’t need to make maximum offers, and the financial cost to the airline is likely to be limited. If Delta paid $9,950 to every person it bumped involuntarily last year, that would total $12 million. Delta earned nearly $4.4 billion.

China-Japan-Koreas
Japan Prepares For North Korea "Emergency"
[Zero Hedge] Judging by the precautionary actions of North Korea's neighbors, the next 48 hours on the Korean peninsula could see substantial volatility, because at the same time as China's largest carrier was said to suspend flights to Pyongyang, the Japanese government has asked the U.S. to provide advance consultation if it is about to launch military action against North Korea, and "has ramped up preparations for emergency situations" according to Japan's Yomiuri Shimbun, including the potential evacuation of some 57,000 Japanese citizens currently in South Korea.

According to the Japanese publication, PM Shinzo Abe stressed that the region is becoming increasingly tense. "[U.S. President Donald Trump] has stated that all options are on the table. It’s a fact tensions are rising," he said at the Prime Minister’s Office after receiving a written proposal calling for tougher sanctions on North Korea from the Liberal Democratic Party’s Eriko Yamatani, chief of the headquarters for the abduction issue.

He added that "if an unexpected situation occurs, we’ll ask the United States to cooperate in rescuing the abduction victims."

The Japanese government, like its South Korean peer, has asked for advance consultation regarding any U.S. military action against North Korea during a series of meetings between Japanese and U.S. officials. The U.S. side is said to have responded positively to the request. This is because Japan would need to take appropriate precautions given that, as an ally of Washington, it could be a target for retaliation should the U.S. military attack North Korea, although in order to preserve the "element of surprise" it would not be at all surprising if Trump proceeded to launching a strike unannounced.

Albania police steps to prevent terror attacks during Easter
[AlAhram] Albanian police said Friday they have increased security measures over the Easter holidays.

A statement said that an increased police presence would be seen in churches and other religious places, in the streets and the border crossing points "to prevent criminal events ... and events of terrorist character."

It was not clear why security has been increased or if there has been any warning.

The same steps also have been taken in neighboring Kosovo, where police said they had prepared certain preventive operational plans related to manifestations and other celebrations of Easter activities.

A statement also called on the population "to respect rights and freedom of all communities as one of the fundamental values of the democratic societies."

The U.S. Embassy in Albania also urged U.S. citizens "to exercise particular caution."

On its website it writes that "bandidos forces of Evil in the region have previously sought to attack soft targets, to include churches and other places of worship, pedestrian malls, sports arenas, concert halls, and public gatherings."

The same warning also was made from the U.S. Embassy in Pristina.

Albania and Kosovo are both primarily Moslem countries but Albania in particular has a sizeable Christian minority.

Senior Abu Sayyaf leader wants to surrender
[PNA] A senior Philippine military official disclosed that Abu Sayyaf one-armed and top leader Radullan Sahiron plans to surrender to the government. Westmincom spokesman Carlito Galvez said, "Radullan Sahiron is contemplating to surrender because he is old."

Galvez said that one of the conditions of Sahiron is for the government "not to turn him over to the U.S. government" when he turns himself in. The FBI has set a million reward for the capture of Sahiron.

Sahiron is the leading figure in the Abu Sayyaf Group in Sulu province after most of the founding Abu Sayyaf leaders were killed.
Galvez said, "We see that not only those in the lower ranks of the ASG are expressing their desire to surrender because they’realready feeling the heat of the military operation. And they also feel the sincerity of the President to accept people who wanted to surrender."

Galvez said they were employing non-lethal approaches in dealing with the Abu Sayyaf, including a rehabilitation program. He said they are replicating this approach from their military counterparts in Indonesia and Malaysia. Galvez said the same tactic was used in "decimating" the networks of the Jemaah Islamiyah.

On Thursday, Galvez presented to the local media the 11 Abu Sayyaf rebels, including two sub-leaders, who surrendered to the government in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi. Ben Saudi Sariol, one of the 11 surrenderers, said they decided to turn themselves in to the military as the offensive against the Abu Sayyaf have intensified in recent months.

"We just want a peaceful life. We want our children to go to school, and earn a decent living. We feel much safer now," Sariol said in Tausug dialect. Ben, along with his father Berong Sariol and nine other relatives, surrendered to the troops on Tuesday night. They also surrendered their firearms to the military.

Uzbekistan had warned West about Stockholm terror suspect
[RFE/RL] Uzbekistan says its security services passed information on Rakhmat Akilov, the man accused of driving a truck into a crowd in Stockholm last week, to the West before the deadly attack. Akilov, an Uzbek national, is in custody on suspicion of mowing down a crowd on a busy street. The attack killed four people.

Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov said that Akilov had been recruited by ISIS after he left Uzbekistan in 2014 and settled in Sweden.

"According to the information in our possession, he actively urged his compatriots to travel to Syria to fight on Islamic State's side," Kamilov said, adding that Akilov had used online messaging services.

Kamilov said, "Earlier [before the attack], information on Akilov's criminal actions had been passed by security services to one of our Western partners so that the Swedish side could be informed."

An unnamed Uzbek security source said this week that Akilov had attempted to reach Syria in 2015 to join ISIS but was detained at the Turkish-Syrian border and deported back to Sweden. The source said Uzbek officials in February had put him on a wanted list for people suspected of religious Islamist extremism.

N. Korea to strike US bases in Asian Pacific & S. Korean presidential palace if US attacks
[RT] North Korea will strike US military bases in Japan and South Korea, as well as the South Korean president’s residence in Seoul, if America engages in aggression against Pyongyang, North Korea’s General Staff warned, according to state news agency KCNA.

North Korea’s military promised to "ruthlessly ravage" the US if the American aircraft carrier group that is currently on its way to the region takes aggressive action.

"Our toughest counteraction against the US and its vassal forces will be taken in such a merciless manner as not to allow the aggressors to survive," a statement from the military said.

"The Trump administration, which made a surprise guided cruise-missile strike on Syria on April 6, has entered the path of open threat and blackmail," the statement added.

The General Staff noted that, American military bases in the Pacific, Guam, the island of Okinawa, which hosts the bulk of US troops in Japan, as well as the US mainland, are all within reach of North Korea’s strategic missiles.

Pakistan never supports Afghan Taliban: Nasser Janjua

after Rangers’ operation, Pakistain never supported Afghan Taliban.
Then his lips fell off.
While addressing the members of Pakistain Institute of International Affairs, Nasser Janjua said," we witnessed both good and bad time of burning and hoisting Pakistain’s flag in Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
." "The people of province stood by security forces and the government at that moment, he added.

He further said: government with the help of Rangers eliminated murder and the practice of extortion from Karachi. The purpose of appointing Rangers in the city was to launch operation against banned outfits and murderous Moslem political wings, he added.

Nasser Janjua further said, "Pakistain is blamed for supporting Afghan Taliban, which is absolutely wrong. He said, if it was true then Lions of Islam did not perpetrate suicide kabooms against Pakistain." Instead of declaring Pakistain as a terrorist state the world must acknowledge it sacrifices which it did during war against terrorism, he added.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
US State Department Blacklists Hamas Terror Commander
[ALGEMEINER] The US State Department designated Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, terror commander Abu Anas al-Ghandour as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist last week, imposing sanctions on Ghandour for "posing a significant risk of committing acts of terrorism that threaten the security of US nationals or the national security, foreign policy, or economy of the United States."

The State Department clarified that the sanctions prohibit US citizens from "engaging in transactions or dealings" with the Gazoo-based Ghandour, and that all of his property -- subject to US jurisdiction -- was deemed "frozen."

Ghandour, a high-level Hamas operative, has been involved in numerous terrorist operations, including an attack in 2006 on an IDF outpost at the Kerem Shalom crossing along the Israel-Gazoo border. The terror attack killed two Israeli soldiers and resulted in the kidnapping of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who was held captive by Hamas for five years before being freed in a controversial prisoner exchange deal.

Hamas front man Sami Abu Zuhri
...a senior spokesman for Hamas. Zuhri gained notoriety in 2006 when he dropped his money belt containing somewhere between 640,000 and 900,000 euros, which was confiscated by Paleostinian security and customs officials at a routine border crossing from Egypt to Gaza. The news brought competing Hamas and Fatah forces to the crossing checkpoint for an epic face-making and hollering contest...
called Ghandour’s blacklisting "an attempt to invert the real situation, because the real terrorist is the one who furnishes the arms of the occupier (Israel) to kill the children of Paleostine," referring to the US.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Rouhani registers to run in May for second term
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, a pragmatist who engineered the country’s landmark 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, registered on Friday to run for a second four-year term in the May election, state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
reported.

"Once again, I am here for Iran, for Islam, for freedom and for more stability in this country. I am urging all Iranians to vote for Iran and for Islam," Rouhani told news hounds.

He won election by a landslide in 2013 on a platform of ending the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s diplomatic isolation and creating a freer society, but faces a stiff challenge from conservative hardliners because of discontent over the economy.

Influential Shi’ite holy man Ebrahim Raisi, the custodian of a powerful organization in charge of Iran’s holiest shrine, appears to be the leading hardline candidate.

But despite months of talks, hardliners have been unable to unite behind a single candidate and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei appears to have not yet intervened to make them do so.

[An Nahar] Libya's southern desert, long neglected by central authorities, risks becoming an arena for score-settling between rival governments vying for clout across the war-torn country, analysts say.

Clashes erupted last week as forces loyal to Libya's eastern authorities battled to seize a key southern airbase from militias that back a United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
-endorsed unity government.

The offensive by the self-proclaimed Libyan National Army (LNA) commanded by military strongman Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar
... served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
threatened to trigger a broader conflict with forces allied to the Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
-based Government of National Accord (GNA).

The unity government, the rival administration in eastern Libya and their respective backers are battling for influence in the North African country which has been wracked by chaos since the fall of dictator Moamer Qadaffy in 2011.

So far tensions between the two sides had been mainly limited to the country's north.

But last week, the LNA launched an offensive on the Tamenhant airbase on the outskirts of the city of Sebha.

The most important airbase in the south, it is a base for the "Third Force", one of several powerful pro-GNA militias from the western city of Misrata.

Haftar's LNA "wants to achieve a victory in the southern region of Fezzan to boost its position & GNA is mobilising to prevent that", analyst Mohammed Eljarh of the Atlantic Council tweeted.

This Week in Guns, April 15th, 2017

By Chris Covert
Rantburg.com

Housekeeping note: The rig I use to gather all the data for TWIG crashed last week when a graphics update locked up. The only computer available to me was an ancient laptop in my living room. On the main rig it takes about two and a half hours to gather the information for each week and post something coherent. On the laptop, it would have taken me three and a half hours.

Two weeks ago three miscreants were gunned down in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, which is a suburb of Tulsa, when they attempted to rob a residence. The 23 year old man inside killed all three with an AR-15. The getaway driver, a young woman was charged with three counts of felony murder. It just goes to show that the AR can be a reliable instrument for defending your home and your life.

I haven't followed the story too closely, so don't know whether the shooter was trained or not. It seems to me you would have to be one cool individual to gun down that many people in one setting. You would need training to do so.

It seems firearms trainer James Yeager had his Tennessee concealed carry permit revoked because of some vocal threats he made.

I have never met the man, but from what I have read about him and from listening to his videos, he does tend to shoot his mouth off. For example, his comments about Connecticut's firearms laws, reflecting his sentiments on the issue of the right to keep and bear arms, left me perplexed as to just what the residents of Connecticut should do to satisfy him and to cure the gun control environment.

In his latest video he lumped together leftists and gun trainers, who he said had condemned him for his remarks, as a "buncha pussies."

A south African leftist wants to deny whites their right to vote, so they can be robbed. It illustrates the crying need to continue to train, even if you can't qualify or afford the training.

I find it amazing that many of the calls for violence against Trump supporters come from artists and students, the former who are supposed to show the beauty of their view of the world, instead of showing their murderous heart and intent.

Loads.

#1  A former United States Marine who traveled to New Jersey with a gun he legally owned — but which was not registered in New Jersey — is facing three years in prison for firearm law violations.
The three years is the minimum sentence that former Marine Sergeant Hisashi Pompey has to serve before he can even be eligible for parole under New Jersey’s strict gun control laws.

ABC 7 reports that Pompey did “three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan for which he received medals for bravery.” He was a military police sergeant.

Six years ago Pompey visited New Jersey and brought his legally owned handgun with him from Virginia. During the course of the night, one of Pompey’s friends got involved in a fight, retrieved the gun, and “carried it into a confrontation with police.” Police arrested Pompey’s friend then arrested Pompey, as well, for having brought an unregistered handgun into the state.

He is now asking Governor Chris Christie (R) to grant him clemency. Pompey said, “Only help I am asking for is from the governor, that’s the only one, everyone from judges to lawyers say the only person who will help me now is the governor.”

Pompey has a wife and children at home, all of whom he will have to leave for a minimum of three years if Christie does not act.

In April 2015, Christie pardoned Pennsylvania resident Shaneen Allen, who was arrested in 2013 for carrying a legally owned handgun in her car. Allen even had a Pennsylvania permit to carry the gun, but New Jersey does not recognize Pennsylvania’s permit.

On December 23, 2015, Christie pardoned U.S. Marine Joshua Velez, a Massachusetts concealed carry permit holder who was arrested over a year earlier for bringing his 9mm handgun into the state of New Jersey.

Young fighters must be absorbed into state institutions says Maetig
[Libya Herald] "Armed youth" have to be incorporated into state institutions, Presidency Council (PC) deputy Ahmed Maetig has said. But this does not necessarily mean the police or the armed forces, he added in an interview with Egyptian newspaper al-Watan.

Referring to Khalifa Hafter and his Libyan National Army forces, Maetig, who has since returned to Libya, also said that it was unacceptable to think that the country’s military forces should be seen as above the government.

He further explained that in its efforts to resolve the Libya crisis, Egypt and its President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi had put forward some solutions in line with the Libyan Political Agreement. Sisi had also spoken of the need to unify Libya’s state institutions ‐ something Maetig said the PC saw as reason for believing it could count on Egypt’s support.

Egypt would, moreover, always have a major role in building united military institutions in Libya, Maetig added. He claimed that had been the case even dating back to the time of King Idris.

The PC deputy also welcomed the efforts of Algeria to find a solution to the Libya crisis, praising its "active role" and "professional diplomacy".

Maetig was in Cairo this past week for a raft of political meetings. Perhaps most importantly, the Egyptian foreign minster Sameh Shoukry. hHe threw his weight behind the Dialogue and LPA and described it as the only way to bring about reconciliation and stability in Libya.

Egypt had long been seen as Hafter’s principal supporter. However,
denial ain't just a river in Egypt...
following his snubbing of PC head Faiez Serraj at a meeting organised in Cairo by the Egyptians in January, Cairo’s patience with Hafter has been seen as waning.

Mardan university takes action against victims; launches probe into 'blasphemous activity'
[DAWN] In a bizarre move, Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan (AWKUM) has decided to probe three students for alleged "blasphemous activity", a notification posted to their website said Friday.Of the three students named in the notification, one was killed and another severely injured after being brutally assaulted by an enraged mob a day earlier.

The notification, dated April 13, did not mention any details of the incident or a condemnation of the student's killing, even though the university's provost, Fayyaz Ali Shah, said it had been issued after the lynching.

"I [the assistant registrar] am directed to notify that ... [an] Inquiry Committee has been constituted to probe into the matter of blasphemous activities carried [out] by [three] students of Department of Journalism," the notification read.

"Further, the mentioned students are hereby rusticated and their entry into the premises of the University (all campuses) is banned until further orders," it added.

When asked why the school administration had also rusticated the dear departed student, Shah said: "it is a holy manal error which is being revised".

Horrific attack
23-year-old AWKUM student Mashal had been killed and another student, Abdullah, seriously injured a day earlier by a vigilante mob for allegedly "publishing blasphemous content online", local police had said Thursday.

No case had been filed against the two students prior to the incident and police had not been investigating the two on blasphemy charges.

The mob instead seems to have been incited by rumours circulating among the university's student body.

An eyewitness said the mob had first surrounded Abdullah and forced him to recite verses from the Holy Koran, then proceeded to beat him bloody.

The police, when alerted, reached the site of the incident and rescued Abdullah, after which the mob turned on Mashal, who was in his hostel at the time, the eyewitness said.

Mashal was first shot, then beaten with wooden planks till he departed this vale of tears. The mob had also wanted to burn his body before police intervened, a senior police official had said.

The incident had occurred within the university premises.

The campus was shut down indefinitely and its hostels vacated to avoid a further escalation of violence.

One of Mashal's teachers later told Rooters that he was a passionate and critical student.

"He was brilliant and inquisitive, always complaining about the political system of the country, but I never heard him saying anything controversial against the religion," the teacher said.

Funeral prayers for Mashal were offered early Friday in Kalu Khan, Swabi District, where he was laid to rest.

Man arrested near Leipzig was 'planning attack in Berlin'

[TheLocal.de] A man arrested in a police raid near Leipzig at the weekend was suspected of plotting an attack in Berlin, German media have reported.

According to police, a man in his mid-twenties from North Africa was arrested at a refugee home in Borsdorf near Leipzig in the early hours of Saturday. Police reported that the arrest had prevented a potential “acute crime” after state authorities in Saxony received evidence on Friday.

Local newspaper Leipziger Volkszeitung reported that the man was suspected of plotting an attack in Berlin, and is also believed to have made a bomb threat on February 8th that triggered a major police operation in the town.

The evidence that led to the arrest came on the same day that Rakhmat Akilov drove a truck into a popular shopping area in Stockholm on Friday, killing four people.

Frenzied rescues in Mediterranean save over 2,000 migrants

[AlAhram] Rescue vessels in the Mediterranean worked flat out Friday to rescue over 2,000 people from flimsy dinghies as exhausted saviours accused the EU of turning a blind eye to the crisis.

The Italian coast guard and five privately-run rescue boats plucked migrants from 16 overcrowded dinghies and three wooden vessels.

After non-stop back-to-back rescues, a total of 2,074 people were brought to safety, the coastguard said, a day after a shipwreck left at least 97 migrants feared drowned off Libya.

The Doctors Without Borders (MSF) boats Prudence and Aquarius rescued some 1,145 people from nine different dinghies in exhausting operations it said proved their presence off the North African coast was needed.

The rest were picked up by the coastguard, the Phoenix -- run by the Maltese organisation Moas -- the German NGO Sea Eye and the German Jugend's Iuventa.

17-year-old accused of Oslo bomb scare remanded for two weeks
11 April
The Norwegian Police Security Service (Politiets sikkerhetstjeneste, PST) want the teenager to be charged with terror offences, which carry a maximum prison sentence of 15 years.

Following court hearings on Monday, PST revealed that the 17-year-old was carrying explosives when he was apprehended in the Norwegian capital on Saturday night.

“There was a container with lighter fluid and several nails attached to the outside,” police attorney Kathrine Tonstad told newspaper Aftenposten.

The device had a “limited” potential to cause injury, Tonstad said.

“It might seem like a boy’s prank to set off a small gas container, but once he has taped nails to the outside, it becomes something other than a prank,” he added.

Bus driver faces fine for refusing ride to niqab-wearing woman
13 April
A police spokesman in Leer, Lower Saxony said on Thursday that the driver was being investigated for an administrative offence, with the fine possibly rising to €10,000. The woman was pregnant when the driver refused to let her onto the bus for wearing the conservative Islamic garb, the spokesman said, adding that her husband had reported the driver to local authorities.

The private bus company, which had been contracted by the city of Emden to run the local bus service, has admitted that the driver’s actions breached local regulations. The company claimed that the driver had acted out of ignorance.
Except that Angela Merkel has announced she is in favour of banning both niqab and burka in public, so perhaps rhe driver's ignorance is merely temporary.

Report: Shalit deal terrorist arrested for burglary
Q: What is the difference between a jihadi and a common crook?
A: Allahu Akbar! Stick 'em up and hand over your money or die, kafir!
[Ynet] After arresting two suspects aged 27 and 17 following reports of robbery in Ra'anana, police discover the former falsified his identity and turned out to be one of the Lions of Islam released in exchange for Gilad Shalit.

Police tossed in the slammer
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
a Paleostinian in Ra'anana Thursday night who was released from Israeli prison under the Shalit deal, on suspicion of breaking into a home and stealing jewelry and a laptop.

Authorities are currently looking into whether he was involved in other incidents of theft in the area.

On Thursday evening, Kfar Saba police received reports about two suspicious individuals on a street in the central city.

After arriving at the scene, they scoured the area in search of the two suspicious individuals, and eventually found the suspects who tried to escape while throwing items onto the street. Police believe the objects were stolen from one of the homes on the street.

After pursuing the two individuals in a brief chase, they were apprehended. The suspects, aged 27 and 17, identified themselves as residents of the city of Tira in central Israel.

It is not the first case in which one of the Shalit deal prisoners has been involved in criminal activity since his release.
However,
denial ain't just a river in Egypt...
a deeper investigation revealed that the 27 year old provided a false identity, and that he was in fact named Ali Ashal, a resident of Ramallah, who was one of the more than 1,000 prisoners swapped in exchange for IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.

Shalit was held in Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, captivity in Gazoo for five years after being kidnapped by Hamas in 2006.

It is not the first case in which one of the Shalit deal prisoners has been involved in criminal activity since his release.

Last August, one of the released prisoners was arrested at a building, also in Ra’anana. He had been sentenced to 6 years’ imprisonment after he was convicted of involvement in illegal activity and possession of a weapon. Seven more Paleostinians were also arrested along with him, all of whom were suspected of being in Israel illegally.

After he was arrested in August, the terrorist said during his investigation: "Israel is our land. When we want, we will come in. With all due respect, this is our land. You are the first to say that we need permission."
And afterward he once again needed Israeli permission every time he wanted to leave his prison cell.

China-Japan-Koreas
N. Korean Army Vows ‘Merciless’ Response to Any US Provocation: KCNA
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] North Korea’s army vowed a ’merciless’ response to any US provocation, the official news agency reported Friday, as tensions soar over Pyongyang’s rogue nuclear program.

A statement on KCNA, which cited Washington’s recent missile strike on Syria, said the administration of President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
had "entered the path of open threat and blackmail against the DPRK".

Trump recently threatened unilateral action against Pyongyang if Beijing failed to help curb its neighbor’s nuclear weapons program.

The North has conducted a series of missile launches and nuclear tests in defiance of UN sanctions and there is growing speculation that it is preparing another atomic or missile test.

The Korean People’s Army statement was typically defiant and menacing, boasting that US military bases in the South "as well as the headquarters of evils such as the (South Korean presidential) Blue House would be pulverized within a few minutes".

"The closer such big targets as nuclear powered aircraft carriers come (to the Korean peninsula), the greater would be the effect of merciless strikes," the statement added.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Tram stabber killed Englishwoman while heading home from mental hospital
[IsraelTimes] British woman killed in attack on Jerusalem’s light rail by East Jerusalem resident; off-duty cop, civilian tackle terrorist to the ground.

The Paleostinian man who stabbed to death a British woman on a Jerusalem tram on Friday was on his way home from a mental care facility, police said.

According to police, 57-year-old Jamil Tamimi left the hospital in northern Israel and was traveling toward his house in East Jerusalem’s Ras al-Amoud neighborhood on the capital’s light rail system.

As the train approached IDF Square, outside the Old City, shortly before 1:00 p.m., Tamimi "noticed the young woman standing next to him, crouched, took out a knife from his bag and stabbed her a number of times," police said.

The victim was a 25-year-old British woman in Israel on a student visa.

She was fatally maimed in the attack. Medics from the Magen David Adom ambulance service performed CPR on the woman at the scene before taking her to Jerusalem’s Hadassah Hospital Mount Scopus, where she was eventually pronounced dead, a hospital spokesperson said.

According to the Shin Bet security service, Tamimi had a history of mental illness. He tried to commit suicide earlier this year by swallowing a razor blade. And he was found guilty of sexually abusing his daughter in 2011.

"This is another case, out of many, where a Paleostinian who is suffering from personal, mental or moral issues chooses to carry out a terror attack in order to find a way out of their problems," the Shin Bet said in a statement.

After stabbing her, Tamimi was subdued, without gunfire, by an off-duty police officer and a civilian.

"I was traveling on the light rail with my family. Suddenly I heard people shouting, ’terror attack! terror attack!’ I hit the handbrake and ran toward the scene. I tackled the terrorist and ’neutralized’ him so he couldn’t continue hurting innocent people," the officer said.

Jerusalem Police Chief Yoram Halevi praised the officer’s quick response, saying it prevented additional casualties, considering the light rail was full of people at the time of the attack.

After he was subdued, Tamimi was hauled out of the train by a number of coppers and was taken into custody.

Security forces have been on high alert over the Passover and Easter holidays when hundreds of thousands of people visit Jerusalem. The army imposed a closure on the West Bank for the duration of the holidays.

The attack occurred near IDF Square in the capital, along Jaffa Road, right near the walls of the Old City which was packed with Good Friday pilgrims and Jews celebrating Passover. Following the attack, the Border Police shut down the nearby Damascus Gate entrance to the Old City, but it was later reopened.

Tamimi’s knife was recovered from the scene by police.

Jerusalem stabbing attack victim identified as 21 year-old British national

[Ynet] Hannah Bladon, 21, is the British theology student who was killed in the attack on the Jerusalem light rail at noon. She came to one semester of study at the Hebrew University as part of a student exchange program with the University of Birmingham, and was supposed to return to England in the summer.

Arabia
Assiri: We will not allow Houthis to become Hezbollah of Yemen
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
n Defense Minister, Major General Ahmad Assiri, announced that since the beginning of its operations, the forces of the Arab coalition in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
have worked in two axes.

The first is to carry out military operations and reduce the capabilities and influence of the militias. The second is to build the military establishment from day one, pointing out that the alliance will not allow the Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
militias in Yemen to become as the Hezbollah militia in Leb.

Assiri, speaking at a seminar in Gay Paree, said that military operations in Yemen were being carefully conducted to protect civilians, adding that "the Houthi militias in Yemen have established command and control centers among civilians."

He also considered that "the rush in the implementation of military operations in Yemen may lead to losses, and that the policy of besieging the militias in Yemen is leading to effective results."

Assiri explained that the legitimacy forces have made progress in Yemen and that the politicianship has returned to Aden. He also confirmed that the alliance cooperated with the Yemeni forces to defeat al-Qaeda.

He stressed that the Arab coalition "seeks a comprehensive political solution that satisfies everyone", saying that the solution in Yemen should include the implementation of international resolutions and the will of the Yemenis, refusing to accept any "mid-solutions that makes the Houthis part of the solution in Yemen."

Civilian security
He said that the legitimacy forces in Yemen are working to train young people in the security sector and the war against terrorism. He added that the coalition does not use non-guided free-fall bombs since they are dangerous to civilians. He also explained that the military operations in Yemen are taking place in dangerous areas because of the density of the population.

He explained that the coalition is implementing a maritime ban, not a blockade; meaning that they make sure who is using the waters, which challenges those who claim that the siege led to a famine.

He said that the coalition forces have given more than 6,000 permits to international bodies to work inside Yemen, saying that there are organizations that report on Yemen which are not even there.

militias have appointed Beraas Shams al-Din Muhammad Sharaf al-Din as a new Mufti to be the leading authority in issuing fatwas in Sanaa, a decision reflects a sectarian ideological orientation of the militia and could create sectarian division in Yemen.

Sharaf al-Din, who was educated in Iran, replaced Judge Mohammed bin Ismail al-Omrani as the Mufti.

The newly appointed mufti is believed to be one of the most important links between Iran and the Houthi rebellion movement. He is a political activist with the Houthi movement and was a member of the political delegation of the militias that went to Moscow last year to persuade Russia to recognize the power of the Houthis in Sanaa.

Major doubts about letters claiming Islamist motive for Dortmund attack: Media
[AlAhram] German broadcaster ARD cited a report commissioned by Sherlocks as saying there were "significant doubts" that letters claiming responsibility for an attack on the bus of soccer team Borussia Dortmund were written by Islamists.

Three identical letters printed in German found near the scene of the incident in Dortmund had suggested a possible Islamist motive for the attack.
But they did get that ISIS commando commander, so that's something.

The Grand Turk
Turkish President Erdogan rules out extradition of German-Turkish journalist
[AlAhram] Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan ruled out on Friday extraditing German-Turkish journalist Deniz Yucel to Germany while he is in office, repeating his assertion that Yucel is a "terrorist agent".

Yucel, a national of both countries, was tossed in the slammer
You have the right to remain silent...
two months ago on charges of making propaganda in support of a terrorist organization and inciting the public to violence. Yucel denies the charges.

Erdogan said that German Chancellor Angela Merkel
...current chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom...
had asked him to extradite Yucel but that he had denied her request saying the journalist would be tried in Turkish courts, which he said would ensure a fair trial.

Erdogan said there was no doubt Yucel had links to the outlawed Kurdish bad boy group PKK. "This person is a complete terrorist agent. Not all journalists are clean," he said.

"But we will do what is necessary, within the framework of the law, against those who act as agents and threaten my country from Qandil," Erdogan said, referring to a PKK base camp in northern Iraq.

Yucel, a news hound with the German daily Die Welt, was initially detained after he reported on emails that a leftist hacker collective had purportedly obtained from the private account of Berat Albayrak, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

's energy minister and Erdogan's son-in-law.

Since a failed coup attempt in July, Turkish authorities have arrested 40,000 people and suspended 120,000 from jobs in the police, military, the civil service and the private sector.

three suspected agents of India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW

) who were allegedly involved in anti-state activities, including the bombing of a cop shoppe.

The masked suspects were produced before media persons at a briefing by senior police officials in Rawalakot, the headquarters of Poonch division, and were identified as Mohammad Khalil, Imtiaz and Rashid, all residents of Taroti village in Abbaspur.

Two of the suspects are in their mid-thirties and the third is in his mid-twenties, police officials said.

According to Sajid Imran, deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in Poonch, Khalil was the main suspect. He had reportedly visited India-held Kashmire in November 2014 to see his relatives in Bandi Chechian village, where he came in contact with RAW officials who lured him to work for them.

Khalil had undertaken the journey after obtaining an intra-Kashmire travel permit.

When he returned, he recruited fellow villagers, Imtiaz and Rashid, to work with him "for handsome returns."

During preliminary investigations, Khalil disclosed that he had crossed the Line of Control (LoC) about 14 or 15 times, from different parts of Abbaspur sector, over the last two years, while his accomplices also confessed to crossing the LoC five to six times.
