#3  ...Interesting comment at Fox:

"The White House made the stunning announcement shortly after the FBI corrected a sentence in Comey's sworn testimony on Capitol Hill last week.

The director told lawmakers that Huma Abedin, when a top aide to Hillary Clinton at the State Department, had sent "hundreds and thousands" of emails to her husband's laptop, including some with classified information.

On Tuesday, the FBI said in a two-page letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee that only "a small number" of the thousands of emails found on the laptop had been forwarded there while most had simply been backed up from electronic devices."

Comey's actions for the last couple of years seem to indicate a desire to get off the merry go round before he pisses off somebody lethal. He's already testified, his minions have said what mistakes he's made, time to walk away and become either a federal judge or a lobbyist.

More Airline Chaos at Fort Lauderdale airport
[Sun Sentinal] Flight cancellations by Spirit Airlines due to labor issues with the carrier's pilot's union led to chaos among irate passengers Monday night at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
You racist bastids! I have to be to work somewhere dimmit !
Video posted to social media showed upset passengers confronting airline employees as Broward Sheriff's deputies were on hand attempting to keep order in the terminal after at least nine flights were canceled.

Miramar-based Spirit blamed the flight cancellations on labor negotiations with its pilots.

"We are shocked and saddened to see the videos of what took place at Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport this evening," Spirit said in a statement.

"This is a result of unlawful labor activity by some Spirit pilots designed to disrupt Spirit operations for our customers, by canceling multiple flights across our network," the statement said.

Terror Networks
SOF's Evolving Role: Warfare "By, With, and Through" Local Forces
[Cipher Brief] The role of U.S. special operations forces (SOF) in the Middle East has expanded steadily since the inception of the counter-ISIS campaign in 2014. In part, this expansion is due to the metastasis of ISIS into Libya, Yemen, and other countries beyond its major land-holding presence in Iraq and Syria. But the most notable feature of the expanded U.S. SOF role in the Middle East has been its work alongside indigenous forces in Iraq and Syria. Conventional and coalition forces provide additional numbers of troops. What makes this campaign so unusual is that U.S. forces are not providing the muscle of the frontline combat troops. Instead, the campaign is conducted "by, with, and through" others, a Special Forces phrase that the CENTCOM commander, General Joseph Votel, has adopted to call attention to this new way of warfighting. If the counter-ISIS campaign succeeds in dislodging ISIS from Iraq and Syria, this approach is more likely to be considered for other, similar conflicts.

During seven weeks visiting Iraq, Syria, and neighboring countries this year, I observed three major changes in how the campaign accounts for its increasing momentum. First, the number of advisers and supporting forces has now reached a level that can provide meaningful support to the variety of indigenous forces fighting ISIS in Iraq and Syria. That number is hovering around 10,000, including forces deployed in-country on temporary duty. Special operations forces are advising a variety of partners, including the Iraqi Counter Terrorism Service (CTS), tribal forces and Iraqi Kurds. In Syria, they are assisting Kurdish groups, particularly the YPG (Popular Protection Units), and a variety of Arab forces. As in Afghanistan, U.S. SOF count on major support from their closest SOF partners in Britain, Australia, and Canada, as well as the Danes, Norwegians, and French. While SOF are at the forefront of the tactical-level advising, U.S. and coalition conventional forces have been training forces at five main bases and advising at the headquarters level.

The second major change has been in how these advisers are used. The special operations forces have become progressively more dispersed and now accompany the indigenous forces to a secure location near the front lines. This means that they are no longer attempting to provide tactical advice from headquarters, where they must analyze battlefield operations through the soda-straw perspective of drone feeds. They do still advise commanders of indigenous forces at the senior level, which is a critical function, but now they can also observe units in action to better advise their tactics. In East Mosul, movement of advisers to the 16th Iraq army division provided critical assistance to galvanize that unit. U.S. and coalition SOF have also played a significant role in helping to rebuild the CTS, Iraq’s SOF, which has led every major battle in the counter-ISIS campaign and has suffered heavy casualties as a result.

Social Advocate Comey: If We Don't Stop Hate Crime, 'It Will Come for All of Us'
[PJ] WASHINGTON -- FBI Director James Comey told the Anti-Defamation League today that the Bureau is determined "not to let evil hold the field" as he fears people "stewing" with hate turning their prejudices into hate crimes.

He cited recent incidents including "the vandalism of Jewish cemeteries, the racially motivated shooting of two Indian immigrants... swastikas on synagogues and subway signs, a transgender woman attacked in her own home, a noose sent to an African-American attorney... a defaced sign on a Spanish-language church."

Comey told the ADL's National Leadership Summit that "as much as we love" the activist group, "we have been spending way too much time together lately -- I think we'd all be happier if we had meetings that were fewer and far between, if we had no need to investigate hate crime, no need to share information about pending terrorist threats, no need to educate kids or community leaders or cops about bigotry and prejudice."

"In your line of work, and in ours, we see a lot of people filled with hate. Some of those people will sit quietly, simmering and stewing in their own bitterness. Some will shout about it to anyone who will listen, ever hopeful that maybe their hate will attract hate," he said. "And while we can try and illuminate and educate those people who are sitting there simmering, some will always be trapped in that starless midnight that Martin Luther King wrote about so many years ago."

Comey mused about whether people have been "emboldened by divisive rhetoric" or if there are "simply more opportunities to instill fear and intimidation today than ever before."

ACLU tells court that Trump's travel ban is unconstitutional because Trump created it
[Washington Examiner] The Global An American Civil Liberties Union lawyer argued before a federal appeals court Monday that President Trump's travel ban should be ruled unconstitutional because the action was taken by Trump and not a different president.

The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Va., heard contentious oral arguments lasting more than two hours in a case involving a lower court order block of Trump's travel ban. Trump's revised executive order preventing some immigrants from entering the country came in early March as his earlier immigration ban was blocked by federal courts. The new order includes a provision that prevents the entry of foreign nationals from Muslim-majority countries Iran, Libya Somalia, Syria and Yemen for 90 days. A district court judge in Maryland blocked that provision March 15, and the federal government appealed the decision to the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Omar C. Jadwat, an American Civil Liberties Union senior staff attorney, argued that the revised ban should be deemed unconstitutional because of Trump's anti-Muslim comments while on the campaign trail and after the election.

Washington Loves General McMaster, But Trump Doesn't
[Bloomberg] The national security adviser has lost sway. The White House says everything's fine.

For the Washington establishment, President Donald Trump's decision to make General H.R. McMaster his national security adviser in February was a masterstroke. Here is a well-respected defense intellectual, praised by both parties, lending a steady hand to a chaotic White House. The grown-ups are back.

But inside the White House, the McMaster pick has not gone over well with the one man who matters most. White House officials tell me Trump himself has clashed with McMaster in front of his staff.

On policy, the faction of the White House loyal to senior strategist Steve Bannon is convinced McMaster is trying to trick the president into the kind of nation building that Trump campaigned against. Meanwhile the White House chief of staff, Reince Priebus, is blocking McMaster on a key appointment.

McMaster's allies and adversaries inside the White House tell me that Trump is disillusioned with him. This professional military officer has failed to read the president -- by not giving him a chance to ask questions during briefings, at times even lecturing Trump.

Presented with the evidence of this buyer's remorse, the White House on Sunday evening issued a statement from Trump: "I couldn't be happier with H.R. He's doing a terrific job."

Other White House officials however tell me this is not the sentiment the president has expressed recently in private. Trump was livid, according to three White House officials, after reading in the Wall Street Journal that McMaster had called his South Korean counterpart to assure him that the president's threat to make that country pay for a new missile defense system was not official policy. These officials say Trump screamed at McMaster on a phone call, accusing him of undercutting efforts to get South Korea to pay its fair share.

#2  Good executives pick the best people they can find, and quickly get rid of those who don't work well with the rest of the team, however perfect they might appear on paper. On the other hand, this may just have been the lesson Gen. McMaster needed to become a useful part of the team -- assuming it happened as described in the article. I imagine President Trump is as displeased about the leaks as he is about the original behaviour.

Europe
Emmanuel Macron - Rothschild's Choice for President of France
[South Front] Emmanuel Macron, the photogenic 39-years-old financier with an amazing career became the leader of the presidential race in France after Francois Fillon and Marine Le Pen faced a wave of discredits. According to opinion polls, he will reach the second round with Marine Le Pen, where he will win 66 percent of the votes.

Emmanuel Macron can be called the most unusual candidate for president of France. He has no real political experience. He has not been elected anywhere before. He is not a member of any of the leading parties and the three years (2006 to 2009) in socialist ranks can be considered a formality; Macron joined them "officially" but did not pay dues and did not attended party events.

By profession, Macron is an investment banker specializing in mergers and acquisitions and was successful in his career. He graduated from the National School of Administration, a leading university for the French elite. He worked for several years as an inspector at the Ministry of Economy. Then in 2007, a crucial year in his career, the promising 29-year-old economist was spotted and invited by Jacques Attali in his Commission for stimulating economic growth.

Comey: Law Enforcement Needs to Do Better Job Understanding the ‘Journey of Black America'
[Breitbart] Monday at the Anti-Defamation League Conference, FBI Director James Comey said law enforcement "officers and deputies and agents" need to do a better job "understanding" the communities they serve, including "the history and journey of black America--the hopes, the dreams, the disappointments, and the pain."

Comey said,"Everybody in this room knows that officers and deputies and agents signed up for this work because they want to do good for other people. They want to help other people o matter what they look like, no matter what they believe, no matter who they love. They signed up to help all the people, all the time. But we have to do a better job of not just explaining that to the communities we serve and protect. We need to do a better job of understanding those communities. Especially those with the greatest need for police. We need to know the people who live there, the challenges they confront, the fears that they have, the hopes they have."

"As law enforcement officers, we especially need a full understanding of the history and journey of black America--the hopes, the dreams, the disappointments, and the pain," he continued. "We need to know the history of law enforcement’s interaction with black America because black people cannot forget it. We need to know what is happening in all of our communities, not what we think is happening, or even what the people we’re serving to think is happening, but what is really happening."

Comey added, "For that, we need better information in this country. Now, I know data is a boring word. People tend to tune out when you start talking about data. But it’s vital because only data, only information, gives us a full picture of what’s happening. It’s what smart people use to make hard decisions. We at the FBI have been pressing for more data in this country for the last two years, and we will keep pressing for it. Data related to violent crimes of homicides, data related to officer-involved shootings, data related to altercations with citizens and attacks against law enforcement officers, and yes, data related to hate crime."

"We must do a better job of tracking and reporting hate crime to fully understand what’s happening in our communities and in our country so we can stop it," he continued. "Some jurisdictions do not report hate crime data. Some say there were no hate crimes in their jurisdiction, which would be awesome if it were true. We must continue to impress upon our state and local counterparts how important it is that we track and report hate crime data. It’s not something we can ignore, not something we can sweep under the rug, even though it’s painful."

Considering the Beest never went to trial, even with mountains of criminal evidence, Comey's 'smart people' statement is quite the personal indictment. Of course he's too arrogant a tool to see the looming hypocrisy.

Europe
Police evacuate Paris Gare du Nord station Monday night
[DW] Armed police stormed the Gare du Nord railway station in Monday's overnight hours, evacuating passengers and sealing off the area. The operation comes a day after the presidential election won by Emmanuel Macron.

Dozens of coppers and transport staff surrounded the station - the busiest in Europe - in northeast Gay Paree and sealed off all roads leading in.

Gay Paree police said on Twitter they were conducting "checks" at the station, but that the situation was returning to normal.

The operation was connected to a search for three men who are considered to be dangerous, according to a report in "Le Gay Pareeien" newspaper. Passengers were unable to exit their trains as armed police entered the station, eyewitnesses said.

The paper reported the men had also been spotted in Bordeaux and Marseilles over the weekend. Officers reportedly searched a train arriving from Valenciennes in northern La Belle France, which is thought to have had 200 people on board.

Unconfirmed reports suggested two of the three men being hunted were Belgian nationals while the other was from Afghanistan.

The operation began after the last Eurostar arrivals and departures late Monday. The station is the terminus for many local and international trains, including Eurostar trains from London and Brussels.

Gay Paree police spokeswoman Johanna Primevert told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that the operation was aimed at "removing doubt."

A Eurostar spokeswoman said the incident did not appear to have any relation to its trains and did not appear to affect its passengers.

Early Tuesday morning police lifted the evacuation and slowly reopened the station.

La Belle France is under a state of emergency imposed after a series of Islamic Lion of Islam attacks.

French President-elect Emmanuel Macron has said one of his top priorities will be ensuring La Belle France's security.

Earlier in the day riot police clashed with revolutionary groups as thousands of demonstrators gathered at Place de la Republique in the capital calling for 'resistance' to Macron's employment and benefits reform agenda.

Reports: Germany Grants Asylum to Turkish Military Personnel
[AnNahar] Germany has granted political asylum to numerous Turkish military personnel and their families holding diplomatic passports, German media reported Monday, amid strained relations between the two NATO

allies.

The German interior ministry was not immediately available for comment.
"I can say no more!"
but according to the Sueddeutsche Zeitung daily and public broadcasters WDR and NDR, authorities confirmed that Germany gave positive responses to the asylum petitions of these Turkish nationals.

The interior ministry said last month that it had received 262 applications for political asylum from Turkish nationals holding diplomatic passports, but it did not say how many of the requests came from Turkish military personnel stationed at NATO bases.

Since the July 2016 failed coup in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
, 414 military personnel, diplomats, judges and other high-ranking Turkish officials have sought political asylum in Germany, according to interior ministry figures published by the three German media. That number also includes family members.

The wave of asylum requests followed the attempted coup against President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
and a subsequent crackdown, which has seen more than 100,000 people fired, suspended from their jobs, or detained over alleged links to the plotters or to Kurdish Death Eaters.

Last week, Turkey announced the sacking of over 100 judges and prosecutors. The weekend before, it had dismissed nearly 4,000 public officials under the state of emergency while over 9,100 police were suspended on April 26.

U.S.-backed militias say they made new advance against Islamic State in Tabqa
[REUTERS] A group of Kurdish and Arab militias supported by the United States captured a district of the town of Tabqa from Islamic State

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
on Monday, they said in a statement, a step towards the capture of Syria's largest dam.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has been fighting Islamic State in Tabqa for weeks, aiming to capture not just the town but its Euphrates dam, a vital strategic objective before assaulting the jihadists' regional stronghold of Raqqa.

"The forces of Wrath of the Euphrates managed to liberate the First Quarter of the town of Tabqa this morning, which divides the three new quarters of the town from the Euphrates dam, after intense fighting," it said.

Wrath of the Euphrates is the name used by the SDF and the U.S.-led coalition against Islamic State for its campaign to drive the jihadist group from Raqqa, a major city that it has used to control its northern Syria territories and plot attacks abroad.

The SDF assault on Tabqa began after U.S.-forces helped its fighters conduct an airborne and water crossing of the Euphrates in late March.

According to a map the SDF distributed on its Wrath of the Euphrates social networking feed, its new advance has brought it very close to the southern edge of the dam, where a hydro-electric plant and associated operations buildings are sited.

The SDF already controls the northern bank of the Euphrates and northern stretches of the 4 km (2.5 mile)-long dam.

as elite teams escalated the offensive to capture the city's western industrial area on Monday.

Iraq's military intelligence on Monday said "the terrorist Jassim al-Basri, known as Abu Mohammed, was killed in an Arclight airstrike by the international coalition." Basri was the IS leader for Mosul's Mesherfa and al-Haramat areas, Iraqi News reported.

Iraq's Interior Ministry on Monday said at least 3,320 Islamic State Lions of Islam have been killed since the offensive to capture west Mosul began in February. Mosul is a city split between eastern and western halves by the Tigris River.

The fight to capture west Mosul once again escalated on Monday as Iraq's elite Counter Terrorism Service advanced into the city's industrial area as well as in 17 other districts -- all located in north and northwest of the west half of Mosul.

last week, several months after the outbreak of the infectious disease was declared in the war-torn Arab country.

"(This) is extremely alarming. We are facing a reactivation of the cholera epidemic," further said Nevio Zagaria, WHO's acting representative in Yemen, on Monday.

Cholera is an acute intestinal infection caused by ingestion of food or water contaminated with the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. It is a fast-developing infection that causes diarrhea, which can quickly lead to severe dehydration and death in up to 15 percent of untreated cases.

EPA dismisses half of key board’s scientific advisers; Interior suspends more than 200 advisory panels
[WASHINGTONPOST] Both the Environmental Protection Agency and the Interior Department are overhauling a slew of outside advisory boards that inform how their agencies assess the science underpinning policies, the first step in a broader effort by Republicans to change the way the federal government evaluates the scientific basis for its regulations.

EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt decided to replace half of the members on one of its key scientific review boards, while Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is "reviewing the charter and charge" of more than 200 advisory boards, committees and other entities both within and outside his department. EPA and Interior officials began informing current members of the move Friday, and notifications continued over the weekend.

All of the people being dismissed were at the end of serving at least one three-year term.
Pruitt’s move could significantly change the makeup of the 18-member Board of Scientific Counselors (BOSC), which advises EPA’s prime scientific arm on whether the research it does has sufficient rigor and integrity, and addresses important scientific questions. All of the people being dismissed were at the end of serving at least one three-year term, although these terms are often renewed instead of terminated.

EPA front man J.P. Freire said in an email that "no one has been fired or terminated" and that Pruitt had simply decided to bring in fresh advisers. The agency informed the outside academics on Friday that their terms would not be renewed.

"We’re not going to rubber-stamp the last administration’s appointees. Instead, they should participate in the same open competitive process as the rest of the applicant pool," Freire said. "This approach is what was always intended for the board, and we’re making a clean break with the last administration’s approach."

Forget North Korea: A Nuclear War Betweeen India and Pakistan Should Terrify You
It hasn't happened yet. Why would that change?
[NationalInterest.org] Despite diverging political agendas on the Indian subcontinent, there should be a common interest in limiting the proliferation of nuclear weapons and the likelihood of nuclear war. Growing arsenals in India and Pakistan serve to increase the catastrophic human cost of a potential conflict between the too, without evidently decreasing the frequency of inflammatory episodes of violence that spike tensions between the nuclear-armed states.

India and Pakistan will of course retain their nuclear arms, and continue to see them as vital deterrents to attack. However, for such policies to remain tenable in the long run, the longtime adversaries must seek to bring an end to a pattern of recurring conflict that is entering its seventh decade this year.

Eight terrorists killed in police raid on hideout in Egypt's Eastern Desert: MENA
[AlAhram] Eight "terrorists" were killed in a firefight with police in the Eastern Desert on Monday, according to state-run news agency
...and if you can't believe the state-run news agency who can you believe?...
MENA.

Citing a security source, MENA said the deadly exchange of fire took place at a "terrorist hideout" near the Sohag-Safaga Highway in Upper Egypt.

The source said the police headed to the location to conduct arrests based on information from the National Security body.

The Lions of Islam shot up the police unit, prompting a firefight, said the source.

The source didn’t specify whether the alleged Lions of Islam were affiliated to any particular group.

The police seized firearms and ammunition used by the Lions of Islam and notified the public prosecution to conduct an investigation into the incident, MENA said.
Ynet reports eight Moslem Brotherhood members were killed in a firefight with the Egyptian police in the country's south. This may or may not be the same fight:
Egyptian security forces killed eight snuffies they identified as members of the Moslem Brüderbund in a shootout in the country's south, the interior ministry said on Monday.
An interior ministry statement said those killed included Helmi Saad Masri, whom it described as a prominent Brotherhood leader.

The statement did not identify the exact location of the shootout but said police came under heavy gunfire while trying to approach the group and had to respond with force.

Moody's gives Pakistan B3 rating, says outlook 'stable'
[DAWN] On account of strong economic growth and reduction in fiscal deficits, credit rating agency Moody's, in its annual credit analysis of Pakistain, gave the government a B3 rating with a stable outlook.
B3 is considered "Highly speculative," aka "Junk."
"Strong growth performance, fiscal deficit reduction and improved inflation dynamics underpin the Government of Pakistain's B3 rating with a stable outlook," says Moody's Investors Service.

"Credit challenges include a relatively high general government debt burden, weak physical and social infrastructure, a fragile external payments position, and high political risk," added the report casting attention on the negative aspects.

The government's very narrow revenue base weighs on debt affordability, it said and added that exports and remittance inflows have slowed and capital goods imports have risen, resulting in renewed pressure on the external account.

'Missing' Indian woman tells court she was forced to marry Pakistani man at gunpoint
[DAWN] An Indian woman named Uzma who went 'missing' from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad last week appeared before a lower court in the capital on Monday, stating that she was forced to marry her Pak husband at gunpoint and was subjected to abuse by him.

Twenty-year-old Indian national Uzma met Tahir Ali, a resident of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
... formerly NWFP, still Terrorism Central...
, while the latter was working as a taxi driver in Malaysia eight months ago. The two were married in early May. A few days after their marriage, they had approached the Indian High Commission -- reportedly to secure Indian visas -- after which Uzma had 'gone missing'.

An embassy official said that Uzma had actually "sought refuge" at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. According to the Indian High Commission, she claimed to have married Ali and alleged that she later came to know he was already married and had four children.

She reportedly sought legal help from the Indian High Commission to be repatriated to India.

The Indian High Commission then arranged an attorney for Uzma and provided her with transportation and security to appear before the court for today's hearing.

In court today, Uzma alleged that Ali had forced her to enter a Nikkah contract at gunpoint and subsequently subjected her to physical and sexual abuse. He also confiscated her documents, she claimed.

She maintained in court that she was not under any sort of pressure while recording her statement.

Judicial Magistrate Haider Ali Shah ordered respondents Tahir Ali, the holy man who solemnised the marriage, as well as other witnesses to the marriage to submit a reply.

Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
in Gay Paree after trouble flared overnight following Emmanuel Macron's victory in La Belle France's presidential election, police said on Monday.

Those detained in Menilmontant, a north-eastern district of Gay Paree, were accused of offences ranging from throwing missiles at the police to damaging property.

The demonstrators were protesting both against Macron - criticised by many on La Belle France's far left as a member of a discredited elite in thrall to global capitalism - and against his defeated far-right nationalist rival, Marine Le Pen.
Oh, it's the far left. This is what they do instead of voting.
Macron beat Le Pen by 66 percent to 34 on a platform of market-friendly reform and closer European integration.

However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster...
an abstention rate of over 25 percent, and the fact that more than 11 percent of those who turned out chose neither candidate, pointed to a high degree of disillusionment with the choices on offer in the runoff.

The hardline leftist CGT labour union planned a demonstration in the capital later in the day against the kind of liberal economic policies that Macron espouses

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
‘Covert, overt’ support for Syria Takfiris, missing factor in Mattis remarks
[Iran Press TV] The United States must end its "covert and overt" involvement in war on Syria, and stop providing "any kind" of support for Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
terrorists, like ISIS and al-Qaeda, if it truly aims to "bring this one to an end," as US Defense Secretary James Mattis claimed, says a political analyst.

Former US Senate candidate Mark Dankof made the comment in an interview with Press TV on Monday, while discussing remarks by General Mattis in regard to four de-escalation zones, recently negotiated by Russia, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
and Iran to reduce violence in Syria.

A deal to set up de-escalation zones was signed by Turkey, Iran and Russia, during the fourth round of the Syria peace talks in the Kazakh capital Astana on Thursday and took effect at the stroke of midnight local time on Saturday (2100 GMT on Friday).

The US will "look at the proposal and see if it can work," the Pentagon chief told news hounds as he traveled to Copenhagen for talks with US allies, toning down a previous criticism the deal by the US State Department.

"General Mattis seems not to notice that the United States’ covert and overt involvement in Syria is a major reason for all of this violence," Dankof said.

Since crisis began in Syria in 2011, the US has been implicated in providing direct and indirect support for terrorists, wreaking havoc in Syria and later in its Moslem neighbor, Iraq.

US oligarchs have taken control of Trump’s foreign policy: Writer
[Iran Press TV] American oligarchs have taken control of the administration of US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
and put him at the service of the very foreign policy his voters wanted him to reject, says E. Michael Jones, a political analyst in Indiana.

Jones, a writer, former professor, media commentator and the current editor of the Culture Wars magazine, made the remarks in a phone interview with Press TV on Monday.

US Defense Secretary James Mattis said on Monday the United States is closely examining the four "de-escalation zones" proposed by Russia aimed at reducing violence in Syria.

In his first remarks on an agreement signed last week by Iran, Russia and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
in Kazakhstan, Mattis warned that the "devil is in the details" and that much was required to be worked out by the countries involved.

The deal to create the de-escalation zones in mainly Lion of Islams-held areas of the country calls for the cessation of hostilities between Lion of Islam groups and Syrian forces. Russia, Turkey and Iran are to act as guarantors for the agreement which took effect on Saturday.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said "In past 24 hours, 34 ISIS gunnies killed and a radio station run by ISIS gunnies destroyed after Afghan Air Forces targeted bad boys’ hideouts in the Naziyan and Achin districts of eastern Nangarhar province."

The statement further added that the station was broadcasting illegally across Nangarhar, spreading the group’s Death Eater messages and issuing threats to the people and governmental staffs.

"The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have stepped up Counter-Terrorism operations to suppress the insurgency activities of the terror groups," the statement added.

This is not the first the radio station of ISIS loyalists has been destroyed during the counter-terrorism operations in Nangarhar province.

A radio station of the terror group was destroyed in a similar operation conducted in Nangarhar province in mid-July last year.

10 shot, 2 killed in 'brazen' Chicago gang shooting
[WFMZ] Ten people were shot, two fatally, in a "brazen act of gang violence" in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
Sunday, police say.

The shooting victims had been taking part in a memorial for another person killed in a gang-related murder in the same neighborhood earlier in the day, First Deputy Superintendent of Police Kevin Navarro told news hounds.

Two people came out of an alleyway and opened fire with assault rifles on the service, which was being held in Brighton Park, at approximately 5:15 p.m. CDT, Navarro said.

Deputy Chief Kevin Ryan said police were "flooding the area" with additional gang, situation and tactical teams.

"We have a fairly good idea who we're looking for. We have a fairly good idea of the conflict involved and where we need to be deployed," Ryan said. "Right now we're trying to saturate the area and make sure that nothing else happens tonight."

Community plea
Alderman Raymond Lopez told news hounds that it was the second time in a week that they had gathered to talk about assault weapons being used in the community.

"Last week, we've seen assault rifles used on police, today they're used on gang members in the Brighton Park community in broad daylight, on a Sunday," he said.

"It's time for each and every one of us to start looking at what's going on on our blocks -- identifying who is the gang member, who are the drug pushers and who is supporting them in our community."

Lopez said that if criminals continued to be harbored in the community, innocent lives would be lost.

"We must stand together to put an end to this nonsense in our neighborhoods," he said. "We are not going to have a summer of pressers talking about the dozens upon dozens of assault rifle casings found on our streets."

India-Pakistan
The throwaway girls
[DAWN] IN Pakistain, the case of Tayabba, a 10-year-old maid allegedly beaten and tortured by her employers, a judge and his wife in Islamabad, serves as an ugly reminder that the myriad of programmes and campaigns for girls’ education, awareness and empowerment, aren’t making much of a dent in changing negative attitudes towards girls and young women in our society.

Perhaps that’s because we aren’t addressing a basic paradox: that Pakistain’s girls are not just socially shortchanged but are also vigorously economically exploited in all strata of society. In 2012, 12.5 million Pak children were involved in child labour, according to the ILO. No official study on child labour has been conducted by Pakistain since 1996, so no figures exist to examine the huge economy of girl-child labour in Pakistain. Yet it’s precisely this economy that we have to short-circuit before any meaningful change will take place for Pakistain’s girls.

Some development programmes in Pakistain try to offset the economic losses parents face when choosing to send their daughters to school instead of putting them to work. Nutritional interventions feed girls in school, such as the Tawana Pakistain project; others provide a small stipend, as in the Girls Stipend Programme in KP. But these projects are largely symbolic and financially nugatory. They do not compensate for the monetary worth a girl can provide her family through more profitable but illegal means.

India calls satellite 'gift to South Asia', Pakistan says no thanks
[DAWN] India launched a communications satellite on Friday for its smaller neighbours to share, part of its efforts to build goodwill in the region and counter Chinese influence, but arch-rival Pakistain said it would stay away from the project.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who came to office promising to strengthen ties with neighbours such as Sri Lanka, Nepal and even Pakistain, has called the satellite a gift to south Asia.

"The successful launch of South Asia Satellite is a historic moment. It opens up new horizons of engagement," he said soon after an Indian-made rocket carrying the satellite lifted off from the Sriharikota space centre in southern India.

So far Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Maldives have signed up to make use of the satellite. Pakistain said it was working on its own satellite and did not join.

The South Asia Satellite will offer participating countries television services and communications technology for bank ATMs and e-governance, and may even serve as a backup for cellular networks, especially in places where the terrestrial connectivity is weak, the Indian foreign ministry said.

India is trying to push back against China's expanding involvement in infrastructure building across south Asia, by offering financial and technical aid of its own.

Army seizes knives, nabs 13 Palestinians in West Bank
[IsraelTimes] In Jerusalem, police arrest 4 residents suspected of setting off fireworks at officers after attempted stabbing in Old City.

Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
17 Paleostinian suspects in the West Bank and East Jerusalem on Sunday night and early Monday morning, officials said.

In Hebron,

IDF soldiers also uncovered a cache of knives, knuckledusters and other assorted weaponry, the army said.

Outside the Old City of Jerusalem on Sunday night, residents clashed with coppers, following an attempted stabbing attack by a Paleostinian girl earlier in the evening.

During violent protest, residents fired "hives" of fireworks -- pyrotechnics laid out in a grid -- at coppers, a police spokesperson said.

No officers were maimed by the fireworks, the spokesperson said.

Using the city’s closed-circuit cameras, the Jerusalem Police located a group of four youths in a nearby building. They were arrested on suspicion that they had set off the fireworks.

In the building, the officers located and seized three "hives" of fireworks. The police also found masks and clothing, which they believe were used by the suspects to disguise themselves in a failed attempt

to avoid identification, a spokesperson said.

"The suspects are minors, residents of the Old City and Shuafat refugee camp," police said.

In the West Bank, the army arrested 13 Paleostinian suspects during overnight activities. Eight of them were believed to have taken part in rock throwing or in violent protests, while the other five were believed to be members of the Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", terrorist group, the IDF said in a statement.

Three of the suspected rock throwers were arrested in Faroun, outside Tulkarem. Two were picked up in Qalqilya, and the rest were arrested in the Paleostinian village of Teqoa, which is next to a Jewish settlement of the same name.

The suspected Hamas members were arrested in Hebron and Faroun, the army said.

Iran warns will hit 'militant safe havens' inside Pakistan
Ooooohhhh, a potential war between Iran and Pakistan -- what a wonderful idea!
[DAWN] The head of the Iranian armed forces warned Islamabad on Monday that Tehran would hit bases inside Pakistain if the government does not confront holy warriors who carry out cross-border attacks.

Ten Iranian border guards were killed by holy warriors last month. Iran said Jaish-al-Adl, a myrmidon group, had shot the guards with long-range guns, fired from inside Pakistain.

The border area has long been plagued by unrest from both drug smuggling gangs and separatist myrmidons.

"We cannot accept the continuation of this situation," Major General Mohammad Baqeri, the head of the Iranian armed forces, was quoted as saying by state news agency IRNA.

"We expect the Pak officials to control the borders, arrest the hard boyz and shut down their bases."

"If the terrorist attacks continue, we will hit their safe havens and cells, wherever they are," he said.

Growth of Islamism alarms moderate Indonesians
[WaPo] In mid-February, Muhammad al-Khaththath, leader of the hard-line Muslim Community Forum, held court on the top floor of a Jakarta fast-food restaurant. With key deputies gathered around, he explained the direction in which he hoped to push relatively secular, democratic Indonesia.

Sharia would become the law of the land, non-Muslims would lose their leadership posts and thieves would have their hands lopped off, he said. He also criticized Joko Widodo, Indonesia’s pluralist president. Widodo “isn’t a liberal Muslim,” Khaththath said. “He’s a Muslim who doesn’t get it.”

Six weeks later, Khaththath was detained on treason charges, accused of plotting a coup. But in an April 19 runoff election for governor of Jakarta, his preferred candidate, Anies Baswedan, defeated the Christian incumbent, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, after a campaign fraught with religious overtones.

Since then, hard-line Islamist organizations have gained stature; their ability to mobilize huge crowds was considered crucial to securing Baswedan's lopsided victory. But a strong backlash also has emerged, led by moderate Muslims who worry that conservative Islamists are wrecking Indonesia's tradition of religious tolerance.

Bangladesh
Missing AUST teacher arrested during anti-militancy raid
[Dhaka Tribune] The teacher of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) who had been missing since last week and three others have been locked away
Please don't kill me!
by police’s Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit during an anti-militancy drive.

Assistant Professor ABM Sohel-ud-Dowlah and three young men were arrested on Sunday evening, police said yesterday.

The others, Ahadul Islam Sagar, Rabiul Haq Mithu and Mohammad Towasin Rahman are students of different colleges and universities in the city.

CTTC chief Monirul Islam said in a press briefing on Sunday afternoon at the Dhaka Metroplitan Police media centre: "Our team arrested four Lions of Islam from Dhaka’s Motijheel area around 6:30pm Sunday. We came to know that they are members of the banned bad boy outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team alias Ansar al-Islam."

Two laptops, two notebooks, two mobile phones, a passport, a translated copy of a book written by the late Osama bin Laden
... who was laid out deader than a mackerel, right next to the mackerel...
and other jihadi books were seized from their possession.

"In a primary interrogation, they admitted that some members of their group had escaped," he said. "Those members are in touch with the sacked army major Syed Mohammad Zia ul Haque. The arrestees have provided their names."

Police did not disclose the names of the escaped suspects.

"They planned to go to Afghanistan for jihadi training, but changed plans due to very tough entry there. Later they chalked out another plan to join al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
Front, the Syrian version of Al Qaeda," Monirul said.
Ah. Jihad tourists, happy to go wherever the fighting is currently going well with no concern for the slight theological differences between the groups --Taliban, Al Qaeda, ISIS, Al Shabaab -- it's all about shooting off scary black guns and getting slavegirl wives with, as they are reassured, the approval of their god.
For this reason they were trying to apply for visa to other countries. The three young men were trying to go to Syria. Sohel, the university teacher, was their organiser.

The CTTC chief also said that Shohel had links with the leaders of the ABT abroad. They were members of the Dawn section. Different time of the country, they were associated with the planning of killing of bloggers.

In 2014, they were involved in bad boy activities with the runaway bad boy Hasan alias Razor. They used to communicate with each other through the Telegram messaging app and Tutanota e-mail, he added.
Of course they did.
On Thursday night, Sohel’s brother Shafiq-ud-Dowla lodged a general diary with Tejgaon cop shoppe, saying Sohel had been missing since the afternoon that day.

When contacted, Tejgaon police OC Mazharul Islam said: "Sohel’s family told us that he is not connected with any political or religious parties or groups."

Police later discovered that the last known location of the missing teacher was near Dhaka’s Kakrail mosque.

When asked why Sohel had gone missing on Thursday, Monirul said they had no idea about the matter.

movement salute in front of a human body hanging from a cross somewhere in the Middle East is entitled to return to Australia with his siblings, the prime minister said Monday.

But such children who return from the battlefields of Syria and Iraq will be subject to "the closest attention" to ensure Australians are safe, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said.

"We will be utterly resolute in keeping Australians safe, and that applies to anyone who returns from the conflict zone, whether they are an adult or a child," Turnbull told news hounds.

Australian media on Sunday published a photograph posted on social media by Sydney-born convicted terrorist Khaled Sharrouf of his youngest child. The smiling boy holds up his right index finger in a salute in front of an apparently lifeless body suspended from a cross with plastic cable ties. A sign hanging from the body said the capital crime was collaborating with Christians.

Sharrouf’s Moslem-convert wife Tara Nettleton took their five children from Sydney to Syria to join their father in February 2014.

Nettleton died of surgery complications last September, but her mother, Karen Nettleton, continues to lobby governments for help to bring the children home.

Turnbull criticized Sharrouf, 35, over the picture, saying such behavior demonstrates why Australia is committed to destroying the Islamic State movement.

"The despicable conduct of Khaled Sharrouf in using his child to promote the barbaric, terrorist activities of the organization of which he is part, is almost beyond belief," Turnbull said.

"All of the children that are being exploited in this way, if they are Australian citizens, of course, would be able to return to Australia. But under the closest possible supervision," he added.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Trump administration must release Clinton emails State Department tried to hide
[THEHILL] Judicial Watch recently announced that on March 20, 2017, U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson ordered the U.S. Department of State to release to Judicial Watch "eight identical paragraphs" of previously redacted material in two emails from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, sometimes described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as a crook...
’s unsecure email server dated Sept. 13, 2012.

The emails detail phone calls made by President B.O. to Egyptian and Libyan leaders immediately following the terrorist attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi. The emails have the subject line "Quick Summary of POTUS Calls to Presidents of Libya and Egypt" and were among the emails stored on Clinton’s non-government email server. Judge Jackson reviewed the documents in-camera and rejected the government’s contention that the records had been properly withheld under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) B(5) "deliberative process" exemption.

Judge Jackson ruled: "the two records, even if just barely predecisional, are not deliberative. [The State Department] has pointed to very little to support its characterization of these two records as deliberative, and the Court’s in camera review of the documents reveals that they do not fall within that category."

The full emails may reveal what former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President B.O. knew about the Sept. 11, 2012, terror attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi ‐ prior to Susan Rice’s contention that the Benghazi attack was a reaction to an anti-Moslem video on YouTube.

The bad news is that-- following close upon the heels of Judge Jackson’s March 20 ruling ‐ the State Department asked the court to reconsider. The State Department is arguing that, due to an internal "mistake," it failed to claim that the emails were classified and, therefore, should be exempt from production under FOIA Exemption B(1), which is reserved information related to national security.

Not surprisingly, Judicial Watch’s legal team went back to court to oppose this maneuver. Judicial Watch’s brief argues that the failure was not a mistake, but instead was unquestionably part of a deliberate effort by the State Department to protect Clinton and the agency by avoiding identifying emails on Clinton’s unofficial, non-secure email server as classified.

‘Wives’ of ISIS militants face choice of whether to keep babies
[RUDAW.NET] With the offensive to liberate Hawija underway, hundreds of thousands of people have become displaced from family members who remain in the strategic ISIS-held city between Kirkuk and Nineveh. One family has partially been able to physically escape the city that was besieged by ISIS in 2014.

With one sister and their father still believed to be in ISIS territory, one of Um Jassim’s daughters has arrived with her in a camp in Kirkuk,
... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time...
where more than 170 women were once ISIS wives.

The daughter in the camp says she was married off to an ISIS Lion of Islam and recently gave birth.

"I know the child’s father is an Iraqi ISIS. But I don’t know him," she said, adding she has made the decision to not raise the child herself.

Zintan tribesmen open fire on Meshashiya residents
[Libya Observer] Zintan rustics, in northwestern Libya, have opened fire on Meshasheya rustics on Sunday evening, according to local official from Meshashiya tribe.

The Head of the Shura Council and Meshashiya elders council, al-Taher al-Rifayee, told a local media outlet on Sunday that two people were maimed and more damage was done to the Oweyniya district, where Meshashiya residents live, due to the opening of fire by Zintani rustics.

Al-Rifayee also said that despite the festivities, the IDPs of the district will remain in their houses as their return agreement was backed up by elders from all districts and cities in the area, including elders from Zintan.

Meanwhile,
...back at the revival hall, the SWAT team had finally arrived...
the Zintan military council said Sunday morning that the ramifications of the return of Mishasheya IDPs will be blamed on the elders of the tribe if they were allowed to go back to their districts without prior coordination with the military council.

The Zintan military council also said in the statement that it won't allow such a move to happen unless a coordination with their city is made before.

Meshashiya displaced families, who were coerced into leaving their houses in districts like Oweyniya, Omer, and Zawiyat al-Bagol, declared this week the beginning of their return to their houses after over 5 years of displacement.

In a statement issued by the IDPs of Meshashiya, they said they had decided to peacefully return home after no solution had been proposed to end their crisis by neither local and international entities.

Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder...

"That’s ok. We are open to (an) investigation. It is better in order to clear everything," said Natividad on Monday.

Natividad said that the Philippine National Police has started a separate investigation on the death of Saad Samad Kiram alias Abu Saad.

"There is an internal investigation together with CIDG (Criminal Investigation and Detection Group), ongoing yan," he said.

Alfonso Bayocot Jr., head of the CHR-Bohol, went to the Bohol Provincial Police Office on Monday morning to secure a copy of the official police report on death of Abu Saad as part of an in-depth investigation.

"We want to be enlightened on what really happened. He might be a terrorist but our office has a mandate to investigate cases of human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
violations," he added.

Police arrested Kiram in the morning of May 4 after he went out of hiding to ask for food. Although he was fed by a resident, the police were tipped off of his presence that led to his arrest.

He was brought to the Bohol Provincial Police Office in Tagbilaran where he was interrogated. By early morning of May 5, he was transported to the Bohol District Jail, also in Tagbilaran, where he was supposed to be detained.

But Kiram allegedly escaped about 2 p.m. and was cornered more than two hours later when he was shot thrice while grappling for a gun from a policeman.

He suffered gunshot wounds in the thigh, chest and forehead.
Sounds painful.

Bangabandhu killer’s relative tried to supply arms to militants
[Dhaka Tribune] Two suspected forces of Evil who were enjugged
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
in Ashulia on Sunday night were actually IED material suppliers for krazed killer groups, said RAB sources.

Addressing a presser yesterday, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Legal and Media Wing Director Mufti Mahmud Khan confirmed this.

He added that RAB had learned that the two ‐ Md Imran Hossain alias Emran and Rafiqul Islam alias Junayed ‐ had supplied Improvised Explosive Device (IED) materials to Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB). RAB had yet to determine whether their link was with Old JMB or New JMB.

Mufti also said the two had disclosed to RAB that a close relative of one of the convicted killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had contacted them, attempting to supply them with weapons and ammunition.

Refusing to name the person, Mufti stated that RAB was still looking into the matter and trying to collect more information about that person.

The RAB media wing chief, however, hypothesised that the relative of Bangabandhu’s killer was possibly trying to destabilise the country by funding militancy.

The two arrested had also told RAB that the Arakan Rohingya terrorist group had tried to contact them and, disclosing this information, Mufti said RAB was also investigating this claim.

According to RAB, Imran joined Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami Bangladesh (HuJI
Founded in 1984 by Fazlur Rehman Khalil and Qari Saifullah Aktar. The Bangla branch was established in 1992 with assistance from Osama bin Laden. Recruits come mostly from Deobandi madrassahs. HuJI and Fazlur Rehman Khalil are signators of bin Laden's declaration of war on the west.
B) in 2001. He was trained in Mymensingh and later transferred to Chittagong. His job was to collect finances for the organization. In 2014, he joined JMB and began collecting the explosive supplies being sent to Chittagong from Dhaka and distributing them among the Chittagong krazed killer dens.

Although Rafiqul is originally from Netrakona, he is a resident of Chittagong. He too was involved with HuJIB and was trained in Chittagong. There, he met and befriended Imran.

In 2015, Imran convinced Rafiqul to join JMB. Aside from being a teacher at a madrasa, Rafiqul began supervising the female forces of Evil who were used for the distribution of bomb materials to local JMB bomb-making camps where the IEDs were assembled.

According to RAB media chief Mufti, Rafiqul’s second wife had been arrested by RAB earlier. He added that RAB was currently engaged in locating the Chittagong krazed killer camps.

[DAWN] Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj PrunefaceAziz
...Adviser to Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on National Security and Foreign Affairs, who believes in good jihadis and bad jihadis as a matter of national policy...
, while commenting on the Afghanistan border attack issue, said "firing on Pakistain was the initiative of Afghanistan that necessitated to be retaliated."

The foreign affairs adviser maintained that that Pakistain has always used the diplomatic channels to resolve issues with its neighbours. "Afghanistan has been asked to use diplomatic channels instead of bullets," he added.

"I feel sorry for what happened in Chaman," said Aziz.

Commenting on the statement made by Afghanistan's top envoy to Pakistain Omar Zakhilwal on Monday, where he rejected claims that Pak security forces had killed 50 Afghan soldiers in retaliation to the Chaman cross-border attack, Aziz said, "It is great if the Afghans suffered less damage, as claimed by the Afghan ambassador."

Earlier, the head of the Iranian armed forces had warned Islamabad that Tehran would hit bases inside Pakistain if the government does not confront bandidos snuffies who carry out cross-border attacks.

Commenting on this, Aziz said that the government has "asked Iran to provide information regarding terrorists".

Bob Owens dead at 46
Blogger Bob Owens, the founder and editor of the pro-gun news website "Bearing Arms," has been found dead in North Carolina in an apparent suicide, local officials say. He was 46 years old. (more)

The incident happened at about 10:54 a.m. on Monday when officers received a report of a gunshot victim near a stop sign at the intersection of Sequoia Ridge Drive and Judd Parkway in Fuquay-Varina. A firearm was found near the man, who was later identified as Owens.

Just minutes before Owens' body was found, at 10:51 a.m., a brief note was posted on his Facebook account. "In the end, it turns out that I'm not strong. I'm a coward, and a selfish son of a bitch. I'm sorry," the message said.

Police in Fuquay-Varina, a town about 16 miles southwest of Raleigh, said the death could be a suicide but added that an investigation is still underway. The Medical Examiner's Office and the Raleigh/Wake City-County Bureau of Identification will both assist in the investigation.

Owens, who began blogging in 2004 as a North Carolina native in New York, later became the founder and editor of "Bearing Arms," which covers news about firearms and has a following of more than 2 million people on Facebook.

"He was a dedicated hoplophile, an avid shooter and a fierce supporter of the right to keep and bear arms," Dan Zimmerman, of "The Truth About Guns" website, said in a post. "Our condolences go out to his family, friends and co-workers. He will be missed."

Owens also made a number of controversial statements over the years. In a 2015 post, Owens warned the "radical left wing" of the Democratic Party that an attempt to confiscate firearms would lead to civil war in which "they will be utterly destroyed" by armed citizens.

"This is where the survivors of the Democrat rebellion will meet their end," Owens wrote below a photo of gallows.

Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists involved in Kashmir bank loot incidents
[Indian Express] Inspector General of Police in Kashmire, SJM Gilani, on Monday, said that the investigation has revealed role of Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI...
(LeT) Lions of Islam in the recent incidents of bank loot reported from south Kashmire. "Investigation revealed Lions of Islam of Laskar-e-Taiba & Hizbul Mujahideen involved in recent cases of bank loot in south Kashmire," news agency ANI quoted Gilani as saying.

Four incidents of bank loot took place in three days in Kashmire and currency worth lakhs was taken away. First such loot took place on May 1 as the bandidos forces of Evil attacked a cash van of Jammu and Kashmire Bank. Five coppers and two security guards were killed in the attack.

Another loot in Kulgam district on May 2 at Ellaquai Dehati Bank was carried out by the krazed killers. On May 3, two different incidents of loot happened and the lakhs of rupees worth of cash was taken away. In response to these attacks, the J&K Bank, on Saturday, decided to stop the cash transactions in 40 of its branches.

Meanwhile,
...back at the barn, a little lightbulb figuratively appeared over Bossy's head...
IGP Gilani also spoke about the incident of stone pelting by students. He said, "Some students were instigated by outside elements to pelt stones by giving them money, appeal parents of students to counsel them." After killing militant commander, Afghan forces push deeper into Islamic State territory
[WASHINGTONPOST] Seeking to capitalize on the death of a top Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
commander, Afghan forces have surged through districts in eastern Afghanistan long held by the radical Islamist group as warplanes have pounded murderous Moslem hideouts in the past week, officials said Monday.

The offensive in Nangahar province is targeting Islamic State fighters at a time when their numbers are down and their leadership is in disarray after a U.S.-Afghan commando raid in late April killed the group’s senior regional leader, Abdul Hasib.

It also underscores the intensifying focus on Nangahar, where on April 13 the U.S. military dropped its largest non-nuclear bomb on a complex of caves and tunnels used by the Islamic State, reportedly killing 36 murderous Moslems. Nangahar, on the border with Pakistain, is a main route for murderous Moslem fighters and supplies.

As Afghan forces have advanced into some villages for the first time in months, Islamic State fighters are pushing back amid heavy fighting in several adjacent districts, officials said.

Afghan officials said at least 34 forces of Evil had been killed by Afghan Arclight airstrikes since Sunday but gave no figures on Afghan casualties. The role of U.S.-led coalition forces in the latest phase of the offensive was not immediately clear.

The killing of Hasib in an April 27 night raid, announced Sunday by the Pentagon and Afghanistan's Caped President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
, was carried out by a team of 50 U.S. and 40 Afghan special-operations forces. They assaulted a cluster of village buildings where Hasib and other Islamic State forces of Evil were staying, killing all of them and 35 guards.

Officials said the announcement of Hasib’s death was delayed until his remains could be positively identified.

The killing was the third major blow in recent months to the Islamic State in Khorasan, or ISIS-K, the regional branch of the Sunni holy warrior group based in the Middle East. The branch’s forces include former Pak Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
, Uzbeks and other imported muscle.

Two U.S. Army Rangers also died during the April 27 operation, U.S. officials have said. They have been identified as Sgt. Joshua P. Rodgers, 22, of Bloomington, Ill., and Sgt. Cameron H. Thomas, 23, of Kettering, Ohio. Military officials said that their deaths may have been caused by friendly fire and that the incident is under investigation.

That raid came eight months after the previous ISIS-K leader, or emir, Hafiz Saeed Khan, was killed in a U.S. drone strike.

Erdogan calls Israel policy on Palestinians 'racist'
[Al Jazeera] Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
has compared Israel's policies against the Paleostinians to the racism of the early days of the United States and the apartheid-era in South Africa.

"What's the difference between the present acts of the Israeli administration and the racist and discriminatory politics that were practised against black people in the past in America - and up until a short time ago in South Africa," Erdogan said on Monday.
Whatever, dude. Let us know when you say something worth hearing.
Erdogan - speaking at an event in Istanbul that focused on the Middle East conflict - also cautioned the US not to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Such a move is "extremely wrong" and such talk should be abandoned, he said.
Al Jazeera chose not to report the name of the event in Istanbul at which Sultan Recep Tayip Erdogan the First spoke, but The Times of Israel was not so reticent:
Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
on Monday urged Moslems to throng to the Temple Mount in a show of solidarity with Paleostinians as he issued a string of challenges to Israel, which he called "racist and discriminatory."

"We, as Moslems, should be visiting al-Quds more often," he said, referring to Jerusalem by its Arabic name.

"Each day that Jerusalem is under occupation is an insult to us," he added, at the opening ceremony of the International Forum on al-Quds Waqf in Istanbul, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
’s Hurriyet news reported.

Erdogan said increased Moslem visits to the Jerusalem holy site "would be the greatest support to our brothers there."

"Both in terms of our religion and historical responsibility, al-Quds and the fight of our Paleostinian brothers for rights and justice is of great importance to us. We will keep making efforts for Quds to turn into a city of peace," Erdogan said.

In the blistering speech, which also criticized Israeli legislation and US plans to move their embassy to Jerusalem, Erdogan also called Israel’s treatment of the Paleostinians "racist and discriminatory" and said the Israeli-Egyptian blockade of the Gazoo Strip "has no place in humanity."

Israel reacted quickly and angrily to Erdogan ’s comments, calling them "baseless slander."

"Anyone who systemically violates human rights
One man's rights are another man's existential threat.
in their own country, should not preach about morality to the only democracy in the region," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"Israel strictly adheres to protecting full freedom of worship for Jews, Moslems and Christians -- and will continue to do so despite this baseless slander," the statement said.

Erdogan also warned Israel against the planned Muezzin Bill meant to limit the volume on Moslem calls to prayer, saying he would not allow mosque loudspeakers to be silenced.

"The fact that such an issue is even coming to the agenda is shameful," he said. "The fact that those who talk about freedom of thought and faith at every opportunity actually approve this step by remaining silent is noteworthy. Inshallah, we will not allow the silencing of prayers from the heavens of Jerusalem," Erdogan said.

Of course. Isn't that what Allah invented them for?
Imam Mostafizur Rahman, 35, of Khanpur mosque in Ishwarganj area was hacked by the assailants indiscriminately with sharp weapons inside the mosque around 9pm, after the end of Esha prayers. The attackers tried to flee as locals came to his rescue.

The imam was first taken to the Upazila Health Complex and then shifted to Mymensingh Medical College as his condition deteriorated.

One of the three attackers, Ahad, has been detained by the locals. He is also undergoing treatment at the hospital under police custody. Ahad hails from Kalmakanda of Netrokona.

#7  Zharkova, of Northumbria University, made the predictions by studying new mathematical models for solar activity.

She claims her models can predict the solar cycle with 97% accuracy, leaving little margin for error.

There must be some sort of virus that makes climate drama queens use 97% a lot.

#8  97% is mid-way between 95% certainty and 99% certainty. It's kind of a code, meaning 'we are pretty confident, but we could be wrong'.

BTW any %age certainties coming out of a model are completely spurious and unscientific.

Iraq
Iraqi forces launch wide scale offensive against ISIS northwest of Mosul
[RUDAW.NET] The US-trained Iraqi counterterrorism Forces (ICTS) who spearheaded the offensive against ISIS holy warriors in the eastern half of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
have launched a military offensive to recapture the city’s western industrial area since Monday morning.

The ISIS holy warriors are engaged in fierce fighting against the advancing Iraqi forces in the industrial area, as well in 17 Tamuz district where the elite Rapid Response Team and the Haramat district are tasked with the Federal Police, Rudaw’s war news hound Farhad Dolamari reported from Mosul.

The areas are all located north and northwestern of western Mosul, also called the right bank, west of the Tigris River that bisects the city.

Plumes of smokes could be seen from the 17 Tamuz district as the Rapid Response Force of the Iraqi Interior Ministry, backed by the Iraqi air force and US-led Global Coalition, have entered parts of the district amidst of the deployment of boom-mobiles and sniper fire by ISIS Lion of Islams.

Iraqi forces were able to bring the Musharifa area under their control on Saturday, three days after they opened a new front against the krazed killer group northwest of the city.

The Iraqi forces had faced strong resistance when they tried to make advances against ISIS holy warriors in Old Mosul, where it is more densely populated and the streets are narrower than the eastern part of the city. As a result, Iraqi armed forces were forced to shift their focus and instead open a new front in northwestern Mosul.

The spokesperson for the US-led Global Coalition Colonel Dorrian told Rudaw on Friday that "this new avenue of advance is the beginning of the end of ISIS in Mosul," as he made reference to the frontline opened northwest of Mosul by Iraqi forces a day before.

The ISIS holy warriors are now "besieged" in all areas they control in Mosul and are "under the fireline" of the Iraqi forces, Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasool, the spokesperson of Iraq’s Joint Command told Rudaw on Friday.

Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army Osman Ghanimi has said that the operation to recapture the entire area of western Mosul will be completed within a month.

Evacuation of Syrian rebels starts in Barzeh
[Al Jazeera] Hundreds of Syrian fighters have begun to leave the besieged Damascus suburb of Barzeh as part of an evacuation deal reached with the government, according to state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
and a war monitor.

State-run Ekhbariya television cited its news hound there as saying the evacuation of fighters from Barzeh for the rebel-held Idlib province had begun to be implemented on Monday, but without giving further details.

Idlib, a mostly rural province in northwest Syria abutting the Turkish border, is a major opposition stronghold.

"Armed men and some of their families have begun leaving Barzeh on 40 buses heading towards northern Syria," the channel said in a news alert.

Iraq
Coalition forces have ‘long term and strategic’ plan for Peshmerga army
[RUDAW.NET] The Kurdish Peshmerga ministry says a meeting that was held between them and a delegation from the coalition forces on Saturday was to lay the foundation of a professional and reformed Peshmerga army through a project that would last ten years.

Chief of Staff of the Peshmerga Ministry who attended the meeting told Rudaw that the plan of the coalition forces includes unifying all Peshmerga forces under the ministry and that that is only one part of their overall agenda.

Yawar said that reforming the Peshmerga forces and its structure is on the agenda as well. He added the idea for these reforms and restructuring of the Peshmerga forces first came about during the visits of German and British defense ministers to Erbil.

"The coalition forces have through working with the Peshmerga seen some weaknesses and have therefore proposed reforms," he said, adding that the Peshmerga ministry also proposed some changes.

The proposed plan contains 35 points, Yawar explained, and it will be put into practice by a special committee set up for this purpose inside the Peshmerga ministry.

According to Yawar the council of ministers has thrown its weight behind the proposals and asked the ministry to embark on the plan.

The delegation that met the Kurdish prime minister and Peshmerga officials was led by US, British and German military advisers.

Yawar said that the outcome of Saturday’s meeting would be studied by the prime minister’s office, then discussed at the cabinet and sent on to Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani as commander of all armed forces for his consideration.

"The Americans, German and British have promised us that not only do they make recommendations for change, they will also stay with us and help us implement every point of the plan," Yawar revealed.

"They don’t mean something temporary, it is long term and strategic." Yawar said of the coalition project.

He added that these countries told the Kurdish officials that they "are prepared for a period of five to ten years to support the Peshmerga ministry implementing this reform."

Indonesia to disband hardline group Hizbut Tahrir
[Al Jazeera] Indonesia has announced that it will ban the group Hizbut Tahrir
...an al-Qaeda recruiting organization banned in most countries. It calls for the reestablishment of the Caliphate...
. It says the organization's ideology calling for an Islamic state is against the constitution.

The move comes just a day before the verdict in the blasphemy trial of a Christian governor, known as Ahok. For months conservative religious groups have protested against him and demanded the Christian governor be put in prison for blasphemy.

Sanctuary city bans could spread to other states after Texas law signed
[FOXNEWS] A new Texas law cracking down on ’sanctuary cities’ could inspire other states to take a similar approach, even as the changes spur strong opposition from local Texas officials.

Republican Gov. Greg Abbott signed SB-4 into law in a Facebook Live event Sunday evening, effectively banning sanctuary city policies in Texas and giving law enforcement officers the right to ask the immigration status of anyone they stop. Under the law, officers who fail to comply, or cooperate, with federal immigration agents could face jail time and fines reaching $25,000 per day.

"I was proud last night to sign this law ... What it means is that no county, no city, no governmental body in the state of Texas can adopt any policy that provides sanctuary, and second, what it means, is that law enforcement officials, such as sheriffs, are going to be required to comply with ICE detainer requests," Abbott said on "Fox & Friends" on Monday.

And then some judge is gonna rule that it is indeed unconstitutional. That ruling will eventually be overturned by the SCOTUS but the delaying tactic will allow countless criminals to cross the border with impunity and cost the federal government millions of dollars in litigation.

President Trump’s revised travel ban faces new legal challenges
[WASHINGTONPOST] President Trump’s revised travel ban faces two major legal tests this month when federal appeals courts on opposite coasts take up challenges to an executive order that the administration says is urgently needed for national security and that opponents say discriminates against Moslems.

The first hearing comes today in Richmond before a panel of more than a dozen judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.

Federal immigration law gives the president broad authority to bar foreign travelers from entering the United States. The Trump administration’s new policy temporarily suspends the U.S. refugee program and blocks new visas to citizens of six majority Moslem countries.

Before the order could take effect in March, a judge in Maryland and one in Hawaii halted enforcement of critical sections, pointing to comments by Trump and top advisers indicating that they wanted to bar Moslems from entry.

The 4th Circuit will consider whether to leave in place the Maryland decision siding with challengers who say the order violates First Amendment prohibitions on government denigration of a particular religion.

Egypt issues life sentence for Muslim Brotherhood chief
[Al Jazeera] An Egyptian court has sentenced the Moslem Brüderbund's supreme guide Mohammed Badie and two prominent leaders of the group to life in prison for "planning violent attacks", judicial officials and a lawyer said.

Badie and 37 others connected to the "Rabaa operations room" case are accused of conspiring to stir unrest during protests that followed the July 2013 military-led ouster of Egypt's former president Mohammed Morsi, who hailed from the Brotherhood.

The Public Prosecutor's Office charged the accused with "preparing an operations room to confront the state and create chaos in the country following the dismantling of the Rabaa al-Adawiya sit-in" and "planning to burn public property and churches".

On August 14, 2013, security forces stormed a large protest gathering at Rabaa in the capital Cairo and allegedly bumped off hundreds of unarmed demonstrators.

The Giza Criminal Court sentenced Badie to a life term along with Mahmoud Ghozlan, a Brotherhood front man, and Hossam Abubakr, a member of its guidance bureau, the officials and defence lawyer Abdel Moneim Abdel Maksoud said.

US-Egyptian citizen Mohammed Sultan, his father Salah Sultan, and Ahmed Aref, another front man for the group, were among other defendants sentenced to serve five years behind bars.

Egyptian authorities deported Mohammed Sultan to the United States in May 2015, while his father remains in jug.

Other sentencees include two journalists from the Rassd news network, Abdullah al-Fakharany and Samy Mostafa, and a presenter of the Islamist Amgad channel, Mosaad al-Barbary.

Capriles rejects Maduro plan to rewrite constitution
[Al Jazeera] Venezuela's opposition has ruled out discussions with President Nicloas Maduro on his plan for an elected assembly to draw up a new constitution, vowing instead to continue protests for early elections.

Opposition leader Henrique Capriles formally announced on Sunday that the Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD) would boycott a meeting with Maduro at the presidential palace on Monday.

"We cannot take part in a fraudulent process," Capriles said, appearing at a news conference with other MUD leaders.

"We have a constitution, and the government cannot repeal it by act of force."

The opposition maintains that Maduro, whose leadership is rejected by seven out of every 10 Venezuelans, according to polls, is trying to avoid a general election - the main demand of the opposition protests since April 1.

Some analysts, however, said they fear the opposition is leaving the way open for Maduro to change the constitution at will, possibly cementing his grip on power.

Malaysia's top Islamic State operative killed in Syria
[REUTERS] Malaysia's most-wanted member of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
murderous Moslem group has been killed in Syria, police chief Khalid Abu Bakar said on Monday, citing intelligence information.

Muhammad Wanndy Mohammed Jedi, 26, who was on a U.S. list of global murderous Moslems, was the alleged criminal mastermind behind a grenade attack on a Kuala Lumpur bar last June which injured eight people. It was the first and so far only Islamic State attack that caused casualties in Malaysia.

"After reviewing intelligence, the Royal Malaysian Police can confirm that Muhamad Wandy (sic) has been killed in an attack in Raqqa, Syria on April 29," Khalid said on his Twitter account, confirming previous reports of Muhammad Wanndy's death in a dronezap on the Islamic State-held city.

Police had earlier cast doubt on the reports, saying that it was possible Muhammad Wanndy had faked his own death.

Born and raised in the west Malaysian state of Malacca, Muhammad Wanndy left for Raqqa with his wife in 2014. He first drew public attention the following year when he appeared in a video showing the beheading of a Syrian man.

Using the name Abu Hamzah Al Fateh, he quickly made a name for himself as an Islamic State online recruiter and fundraiser.
