'No Love' from Assoc Professor of sociology at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn.
[PJ] Mere days after a Bernie Sanders supporter shot Congressman Steve Scalise and two black members of his police detail, a Connecticut professor posted a Medium article on Facebook declaring: "Let Them F*cking Die." The professor went on to write that white people are "inhuman a**holes" who still prop up a "white supremacy system," so black people should not help them if their lives are in danger.

"I'm fed the f*ck up with self identified 'white's' [sic] daily violence directed at immigrants, Muslim, and sexual and racially oppressed people," Johnny Eric Williams, associate professor of sociology at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., posted on Facebook Sunday, Campus Reform reported. "The time is now to confront these inhuman a**holes and end this now."

How should the allegedly oppressed "end this now"? Another post explained that. "It is past time for the racially oppressed to do what people who believe themselves to be 'white' will not do, put end to the vectors of their destructive mythology of whiteness and their white supremacy system," Williams added in another post, including the hashtag #LetThemF*ckingDie.

On Thursday, Williams also posted a Medium article by that very title, which lamented that black Capitol Police officers who were assigned to Scalise's detail had acted to protect him. The article, posted under a pseudonym, advocated letting white people die, as a form of combatting white supremacy.

Well, if you want to call a country made up of 75%+ whites (check with Hispanics who they identify as) which touts itself as a democracy a 'white supremacy system' then you have a very tortured view of the world. I'll take it you prefer an oligarchy or dictatorship of the majority by the few. You can find those readily available all over the world. You just prefer to suck off the tit of the white supremacy system than endure life in those lands.

'High-Stakes Referendum on Trump' in Georgia Results in Epic Failure
[American Thinker] The special election in the 6th District of Georgia was universally billed "a high-stakes referendum on Trump" in all the much hyped build-up coming from the left and its media allies. Not a local election, not a fluke election. A moment-of-truth Referendum on Trump.

After all, weren't President Trump's poll numbers down? Didn't the "resistance" put on a mega-protest show and continue its tantrum in all the days-of-rage riots on college campuses? Wasn't President Trump engulfed in scandal for colluding with the Russians to win the 2016 election that was rightfully Hillary Clinton's? Weren't the leftists whispering, "President Pence"?

Rubbing their mousy hands together with glee, it's pretty clear that leftists thought they had a certain victory in the bag with that "narrative," along with a perfect post-election analysis, no matter what the Georgia voters thought about it.

Get a load of this now comical pompous pre-election analysis that ran earlier this week in the New York Times (emphasis mine):

Plunging oil prices 'could go even lower for even longer'
h/t Instapundit
Oil continued its month-long tailspin Tuesday, as the energy industry braced for the possibility that prices aren't stabilizing anytime soon.

Falling prices could temporarily constrict the rapid growth of U.S. oil production, but energy industry experts don't expect a significant pullback. American oil producers cut costs during the last downturn spanning from late 2014 to early 2016, which keeps them profitable even at lower oil prices that might have previously shut down wells.

The possibility of what the energy industry calls a "lower-for-longer" scenario is gaining ground. It could accelerate the auto industry's transition from fuel-efficient cars to thirstier sport-utility vehicles and give Americans unexpected savings in their summer travel budgets, while also raising the prospect of energy worker layoffs if prices dip further.

The price of West Texas Intermediate, the U.S. benchmark crude, dipped below $43 per barrel in afternoon trading Tuesday, a level not seen since last August. It settled at $43.23, down 97 cents on the day.

Less than a month ago, oil was trading above $50 and experts were projecting prices of $60 to $70 later this year. That now looks unlikely.

Stabbing at Flint MI airport investigated as 'possible terrorist attack'
FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

The FBI is investigating a stabbing at Bishop International Airport as a "possible terrorist attack."

The incident left one law enforcement officer in critical condition. He has since been downgraded to stable condition.

It happened Wednesday, June 21 about 9:45 a.m. on the second floor of the airport's main terminal.

The suspect has been taken into custody. FBI officials said the suspect possibly came to the United States from Canada and speaks Arabic. The FBI is now investigating the case as a "possible terrorist attack," according to officials.

NBC News added: "The attacker allegedly shouted "Allahu Akbar" before stabbing the officer"

FBI identifies suspect, says Bishop airport stabbing was 'act of terror'
The suspect, Amor Ftouhi, stabbed Lt. Jeff Neville in the neck, the FBI said. Neville was taken to Hurley Medical Center in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Investigators said Ftouhi attacked Neville from behind with a 12-inch knife.

Ftouhi is about 50-years-old and a Canadian citizen, the FBI said.

He entered the United States through Canada on June 16 in Lake Champlain, New York. He rented a car in New York City and drove the car to the Flint airport, the FBI said.

Investigators said Ftouhi acted alone and they do not believe this was part of a wider plot. However, they are seeking search warrants for electronic media.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
US Could Be Headed For A Major Showdown With Iran, Russia In Syria
[Daily Caller] The U.S. could increasingly find itself engaging Syrian regime, Iranian, or even Russian military assets as the campaign to retake the Islamic State’s capital of Raqqa escalates.

The Syrian regime and Iranian militias have increasingly tried to encroach on U.S. allied territory, leading to warnings and occasional bombings. Iran is particularly concerned with U.S. influence inside Syria, despite American insistence that its presence in Syria is focused on defeating ISIS. Russia is also the main ally of the Syrian regime and has significant military assets inside the country.

"The chance for a catastrophic error is higher now than ever before in the six-year-old civil war," U.S.-based intelligence advisory firm The Soufan Group noted Tuesday.

U.S. anti-ISIS strategy in Syria relies on the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a group largely composed of Kurdish fighters. The SDF are supported by U.S. airpower, and they have begun their assault on Raqqa. Iran and Syria, however, are trying to probe the SDF’s territory, which include U.S. troop advisors, in the hopes of capturing the territory for themselves.

This hope has led to numerous armed confrontations between the U.S., Iran, and Syria. The U.S. shot down an Iranian made armed drone over Syria Tuesday, just two days after it shot down a Syrian regime fighter aircraft. The U.S. also shot down an Iranian made drone over Syria on June 8. These aerial engagements are unprecedented in recent years

The June 8 shoot-down of an Iranian drone over Syria was the first U.S. air-to-air engagement since February 2009. The Syrian shoot-down was the first U.S. air-to-air kill since 1999. Compounding the problem, Russia pledged to treat all U.S. aircraft in Syria west of the Euphrates river as "targets" that would be tracked by their aerial defense systems deployed inside the country.

The Pentagon vowed to continue all its anti-ISIS operations in Syria after Russia’s warning.

"The Coalition does not seek to fight Syrian regime, Russian, or pro-regime forces partnered with them, but will not hesitate to defend Coalition or partner forces from any threat," CENTCOM declared in a Tuesday statement.

"Iran is nervous about what the Americans are up to in Syria ... They want to go after the American sphere of influence" Middle East expert Hassan Hassan told Al-Monitor. Their message for the U.S. is "we can make things messy for you in Iraq and Syria," he declared.

State Department probes Clinton handling of government emails, could pull her security clearance
[FoxNews] The State Department has opened a formal inquiry into whether former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her aides mishandled classified information while she was the nation’s top diplomat, Fox News has learned. Despite being under investigation, Clinton and her staffers still have security clearances to access sensitive government information.
In different times, I would call this amazing.
The department’s investigation aims to determine whether Clinton and her closest aides violated government protocols by using her private server to receive, hold and transmit classified and top-secret government documents. The department declined to say when its inquiry began, but it follows the conclusion of the FBI’s probe into the matter, which did not result in any actions being taken against Clinton or any of her aides.

Depending on the outcome of the current State Department inquiry, Clinton and her aides could have their access to sensitive government documents terminated.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, confirmed to Fox News the department’s formal inquiry.

China-Japan-Koreas
North Korea could co-host 2018 Winter Olympics, Seoul suggests
[Guardian] South Korea has proposed that North Korea host some of the skiing events at next year’s Winter Olympics, in a move it hopes will ease cross-border political tensions.

The South Korean sports minister, Do Jong-hwan, has also suggested forming an inter-Korean women’s ice hockey team to compete at the Games, which open in February in the South Korean town of Pyeongchang.

Do cited North Korea’s "top-class" Masikryong ski resort as a potential venue and said he would discuss co-hosting with Jang Woong, North Korea’s delegate to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), according to South Korean media.

His overture reflects a desire by South Korea’s new president, Moon Jae-in, for cautious engagement with Pyongyang, despite anger over the its recent missile launches and the death this week of the US university student Otto Warmbier after nearly 17 months in a North Korean prison.

Moon suggested earlier this month that the two countries lead a north-east Asian bid to host the 2030 World Cup.

North Korean involvement in the tournament would require huge investment in infrastructure, but Moon said: "If the neighbouring countries in north-east Asia, including North and South Korea, can host the World Cup together, it would help to create peace."

Science & Technology
The geeks are inherent at birth: older men have geekier sons, study finds
[Guardian] Older men tend to have "geekier" sons who are more aloof, have higher IQs and a more intense focus on their interests than those born to younger fathers, researchers claim.
Pictured here are two King’s College researchers celebrating the release of their study.
The finding, which emerged from a study of nearly 8,000 British twins, suggests that having an older father may benefit children and boost their performance in technical subjects at secondary school.

Researchers in the UK and the US analysed questionnaires from 7,781 British twins and scored them according to their non-verbal IQ at 12 years old, as well as parental reports on how focused and socially aloof they were. The scientists then combined these scores into an overall "geek index".

Magdalena Janecka at King’s College London said the project came about after she and her colleagues had brainstormed what traits and skills helped people to succeed in the modern age. "If you look at who does well in life right now, it’s geeks," she said.

#1  The finding, which emerged from a study of nearly 8,000 British twins

Mmm! There is some explanation missing here, as the father of twin is obviously the same age for both twins.

And I'd suggest older siblings facilitates acquiring geeky characteristics.

I was rather pissed off at my best friend from when I was young, publishing 2 books by the age of 22, but he had the advantage of 3 older siblings.

Iraq
Western Mosul Reconquest - the final push

Iraqi forces foil IS attempt to retake liberated areas in western Mosul

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi forces repelled on Tuesday an attempt by Islamic State militants to retake areas under security control in western Mosul as forces moved deeper in the group’s last enclave.

A security source told Shafaq News that Iraqi warplanes killed 23 IS members who were trying to sneak into al-Dindan district, south of the Old City, IS’s last enclave in Mosul. The source added that the militants were planning to take over government buildings including the courthouse and the local police department.

Iraqi forces took over Dindan district in March.

A few hundred IS fighters are believed to be entrenching in the Old City, seeking protection in the middle of 100.000 civilians who are believed to be used as human shields and shot dead once trying to escape.

Three officers injured as Islamic State launch 10th chemical attack in Mosul: Agency

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Three Iraqi officers were wounded as Islamic State militants launched a chemical attack from western Mosul’s Old City to hinder the advancing government troops, Sputnik agency reported Tuesday.

It quoted its reporter saying that the mortar missile was launched a day earlier, landing near an elite squad from the army’s Counter-Terrorism Service. Three officers sustained intense vomiting and rashes from the missile which, the agency said, contained a poisonous gas, probably mustard.

The affected personnel were taken late Monday to a makeshift hospital run by the squad, according to Sputnik, which said the attack was the tenth by IS militants since operations launched to retake Mosul in October.

Instances of chemical weapons use have been recurrently reported since an inventory of chemical arms was discovered by Iraqi forces inside laboratories of Mosul University in the eastern side of Mosul, which government troops took over from IS in January.

Mosul council deports IS fighters families, cites need for rehabilitation
PNG'd 'em, by gum.
Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Mosul city council decided Tuesday to deport the families of Islamic State fighters and to relocate them to special camps in order to rehabilitate them mentally.

In a statement, the council said it will no longer allow receiving migrant Islamic State fighters families arriving from other provinces. The existing families are to be deported and sheltered in camps where they will be “psychologically and ideologically rehabilitated and integrated with society once they prove responsive to that process.”

The council’s plan also involves a ban on internal migration in Mosul, and to ensure that migrant families are returned to the very same residences they occupied before June 2014 except those who had lost their dwelling. Official IDs will be reviewed to verify that migrants are truelly original Mosul residents, according to the statement.

Over 700 civilians flee Mosul’s Old City

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) More than 700 civilians fled the last IS-held district in western Mosul over the past 24 hours, an Iraqi military source said.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Cap. Jabbar Hassan said troops of the ninth armored division of the Iraqi army and Federal Police troops transferred the fleeing civilians, most of whom were women and children, to outside the Old City without naming it.

In related news, Lt. Gen. Shaker Jawdat, head of the Federal Police, said in a statement that 32 IS militants were killed in battlefields in the Old City.

Several areas inside and around the Old City have been recaptured putting the area under full siege.

A statement by Defense Ministry’s War Media Cell, quoted Nineveh Operations Commander Abdulamir Yarallah earlier on Tuesday, as saying that troops from the 9th division of the Iraqi army recaptured the southern part of al-Shifa district, a home to several major health facilities north of the Old City.

IS media agency cameraman found beheaded in Kirkuk

Al-Riyadh (IraqiNews.com) Unknown individuals beheaded a cameraman operating within the Islamic State’s main media agency in southwestern Kirkuk, a source said Tuesday.

The source told Alsumaria News that a cameraman working for Amaq News Agency, Islamic State’s media arm, was found beheaded at a country road in al-Riyadh, southwest of the province.

IS members were put in alert to search for the attackers, according to the source.

Peshmerga personnel killed, injured as IS attack repelled southwest Kirkuk

Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) A Peshmerga personnel was killed, while two others were injured on Tuesday as the troops foiled an attack by the Islamic State in Tuz Khurmatu city, southwest of Kirkuk, a Kurdish officer said.

“Peshmerga troops foiled a huge attack launched by the Islamic State militants against Zerka region in Tuz Khurmatu,” Col. Sankar Hassan told Anadolu news agency.

“The fierce confrontations lasted for several hours,” he added hinting that the U.S.-led coalition jets were backing Peshmerga.

“The attack left one personnel killed and two others wounded. Meanwhile, several IS militants were killed and injured,” Hassan said.

IS launched several attacks this month against Peshmerga troops deployed south of Tuz Khurmatu.

[DailyMail] The woman, a 'biter' for ISIS's female vigilante division, was ambushed outside her home in Hawija, Kirkuk by unknown attackers in what is thought to be a revenge attack. One source said the woman had bitten more than 200 women's hands after they were deemed to have violated the group's modesty code.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Air strikes pound southwest Syrian city of Deraa
[IraqiNews] Government air and artillery bombardments hit rebel-held areas of the Syrian city of Deraa, on the border with Jordan, on Tuesday after a two-day ceasefire expired, witnesses and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The Syrian military could not be reached for comment on the renewed action, which took place as U.S. and Russian officials were holding held talks on creating a "de-escalation zone" in southwestern Syria that would include Deraa.

A witness and two Death Eaters in Deraa said the army and its allies had resumed air and artillery bombardments in the city and the narrow strip of countryside separating it from the border.

If the army takes rebel-held parts of Deraa and the few kilometers (miles) between it and the border, it would split the murderous Moslem areas of southeast Syria in half.

At least six raids took place in Gharz in east Deraa and in the old quarter of the city, where the army resumed efforts to break rebel lines, the rebels said.

The witness said that barrel bombs, artillery shells and rockets were used in the bombardment. Clashes took place near a military base southwest of the city near the border with Jordan, the witness added.

U.S. and Russian officials agreed a ceasefire, which ended on Monday, during talks in Amman aimed at strengthening goodwill before more detailed negotiations on setting up the "de-escalation zone", diplomats in Jordan said.

On Saturday the Syrian army said it would suspend combat operations in Deraa for 48 hours in order to support "reconciliation efforts".

Rebels in the city and other residents have said this month that the army’s bombardment of Deraa has intensified and Death Eaters said the government had brought more troops to the city.

The source told Alsumaria News that the cars blocked the streets of the town, forming walls against possible offensives.

Islamic State have been holding Tal Afar since 2014, with the area becoming one of its most significant bastions in Nineveh province.

So far, offensives by the pro-government Popular Mobilization have isolated the town from the Syrian borders and from Mosul, and recaptured a main military base there.

group has executed 250 Christian children in Syria, by putting them in a dough mixer, while criticized the United Nations

’ negligence to the crises of Christians and other minorities in Iraq and Syria, Alsumaria News reported.

The organization, called the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), reported that through its affiliate, the European Centre for Law and Justice (ECLJ), it made an oral intervention before the United Nations Human Rights Council on behalf of Christians facing genocide in the Middle East.

The ACLJ pointed out, "The actions of ISIS against Christians and other religious minorities in Iraq and Syria clearly embody the definition of genocide as enshrined in the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide," adding that, "The ISIS campaign to destroy these religious minorities and decimate their homelands and cultures undoubtedly meets the definition of genocide, and as long as the UN does not recognize it as such, these vulnerable groups remain unprotected and in peril."

"We got the report of a Christian Syrian woman who saw Christians being killed and tortured, and children being beheaded in front of their parents," explaining that, "250 children were put in the dough mixer, they were kneaded. The oldest one of them was four-years-old."

"ISIS tortured a boy while demanding his father and two others renounce Christianity, before executing all four by crucifixion. Eight Christian women were publically raped and beheaded. There are "mass graves of Christians," the report added.

Furthermore, American Center for Law and Justice stated that the victims of ISIS’s genocide deserve the recognition and protection of the international community, and affirmed the importance that the United Nations acknowledge the Islamic State crimes as genocides.

The piece is interesting in that Crowdstrike, are the only people who examined the DNC servers. They said it was the Russians who manipulated our election. Comey said the DNC would not give the FBI their servers. Comey's FBI readily accepted Crowdstrike's results which were later discredited. Crowdstrike then backed off their report. Crowdstrike, the DNC, Comey, Hillary, the Atlantic Council, the Ukraine, and Soros would appear to be intricately intertwined in the last election to try to derail Trump--not the Russians.

It is interesting the list of donors to the Atlantic Council reads like a Who's Who of contributors.

Georgia inmates spring into action, perform CPR, call 911 to save deputy's life
[NYP] These inmates really earned their stripes -- for saving a deputy’s life.

Six Polk County jailbirds in Georgia sprang into action when they saw the officer collapse while supervising them on a field detail outside, 11alive.com reported.

"They could have taken the gun, got the work van and gone," Sheriff Johnny Moats told Time magazine.

"They could have done anything they wanted. They were out there by themselves with this one officer," he said. "If they would have left him there, it could have been hours before anyone came across him."

The men -- who were all jailed for minor criminal offenses -- were cutting grass at a cemetery when the deputy collapsed in 100 percent humidity.

"When he started breathing, it was just real heavy and real fast," said Greg Williams, who along with his fellow inmates opened the man’s shirt and removed his bulletproof vest to perform CPR.

Meanwhile, one of them called 911 with the officer’s phone.

The Sheriff’s Office applauded the inmates’ quick actions before EMS arrived.

Democrats are incapable of learning from Georgia Special Election loss
[LI] What are the implications of Republican Karen Handel’s solid win (53-47 as of this writing) over Democratic darling Jon Ossoff in the Georgia Sixth District Special Election?

Democrats came into election day with high hopes, with Ossoff leading in almost every poll, tens of millions of dollars flowing in from around the country, and celebrities urging an anti-Trump vote.

Yet the Republican won the District by a larger margin than Trump did in the presidential election.

This loss comes after losses in special elections in Montana and Kansas, and another in South Carolina tonight. In all of these cases, Democrats tried to make the election a referendum about Trump.

In all of these loses, the Democratic meme is that the Democrat lost, but not by as much as expected. I don’t think Democrats will learn any lessons from these losses. In fact, they probably will learn the wrong lessons.

As I often do on election nights when Democratic disappointment is likely to be highest, I watched MSNBC. First I watched Rachel Maddow, then Lawrence O’Donnell. The MSNBC coverage was nothing short of delusional. The "a loss is really a win" approach was pervasive. Hope sprang eternal.

Maddow in particular continued to spin Trump Russia conspiracy theories. O’Donnell went on and on about how the Republican healthcare bill would be the doom of Republicans. A phrase used frequently on O’Donnell’s show was that this was an "ominous win" for Republicans because the margin was lower than when Tom Price won -- ignoring that the Republican outperformed Trump’s win.

Price used to win by 20+% margins. He also outspent his opponents by more than an order of magnitude (i.e. >10x). And as the incumbent, Price had superior name recognition. Once Handel takes office, she'll get the advantages of incumbency (e.g. better name recognition and fundraising). She should start seeing Price-like margins once she takes office.

I'm guessing those aren't quantified. But Ossoff's 2 to 1 money advantage (vs his predecessors's 1 to 20 or more disadvantage), even without in-kind contributions, were probably key to his margin of defeat.

What's interesting is how close the South Carolina race was. There, the GOP guy won by 3% and outspent his opponent by 40%.

Florida Democratic Party Chair steps on perverbial schwanz
[Free Beacon] Florida Democratic Party chairman Stephen Bittel is considering resigning following backlash from racially charged comments he made toward members of the legislative black caucus.

The tension started at a Saturday fundraiser for the Florida Democratic Party, the Miami Herald reports. Bittel shortened the program by removing a segment in which state legislators would be recognized.

Bittel referred to the anger from lawmakers over the snub as "childish." Bittel also said State Sen. Oscar Braynon (D.), a black legislator who expressed lawmakers' unhappiness to the chairman, was acting "like a three year old."

After the dinner, white State Sen. Lauren Book (D.) asked Bittel about the situation.

"They're like children, these black lawmakers. They just don't get it," Bittel said. "I raised more money in this amount of time than they ever could."

Bittel made matters worse for himself by initially accusing the African-American lawmakers of "playing the race card" once they took offense, Politico reports.

"I have much to learn and I am committed to being better and learning from this mistake. I sincerely apologize," Bittel said in a written statement to Politico.

"I am working with Democratic leaders to mend fences, move forward and make our party stronger," he said.

One Democrat close to Bittel said he "is ready to quit if he's asked. He is sorry. And he wants to make amends."

Children of Jihadists Flown Back to Sudan from Libya

group.

The children were flown into Khartoum from the Libyan capital Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
, an AFP correspondent said.

"Thanks be to Allah, today eight children," were brought back from Libya, Brigadier Tijani Ibrahim of Sudan's powerful National Intelligence and Security Service (NSS) told news hounds.

Six of the children will be handed over to relatives while the state will take care of the other two because authorities could not find any next of kin, he said.

Ibrahim said the children were brought out of Libya with help from the Libyan Red Islamic Thingy, and that four more children were expected to be flown back to Sudan at an unspecified time.

A representative for the Sudanese community in the Libyan city of Misrata, Motaz Abbas, accompanied the children home.

He said their parents "are members of the Islamic State group."

"Their mothers have been locked away
You have the right to remain silent...
by Libyan authorities and their fathers are listed as missing," Abbas said.

Libya descended into chaos following the NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Originally it was a mutual defense pact directed against an expansionist Soviet Union. In later years it evolved into a mechanism for picking the American pocket while criticizing the cut of the American pants...
-backed ouster of longtime dictator Muammar Qadaffy

in 2011, with rival administrations and militias vying for control of its vast oil wealth.

The infighting and lawlessness allowed hard boy groups such as IS to seize several coastal regions, giving the jihadists a toehold on Europe's doorstep.

In February a four-month-old baby girl born to Sudanese parents who were IS fighters in Libya was also brought home and entrusted to the care of her grandfather.

Her mother and father were killed during fighting in the Libyan coastal city of Sirte, which IS had transformed into a bastion to train jihadists before pro-government forces retook it in December 2016.

Sudanese officials says dozens of young Sudanese have joined IS in Libya, Syria and Iraq.

for planning to fight in Syria, officials said Tuesday.

Muhammad Khairul bin Mohammed, 24, an unarmed traffic officer working at the crossing with Malaysia, was arrested under the Internal Security Act, the Ministry of Home Affairs said in a statement.

The act allows for detention without trial for up to two years.

"Through prolonged exposure to online materials on the Syrian conflict, Khairul perceived the Syrian conflict to be a 'holy war' in which he was prepared to die in battle as a 'martyr'," the statement said.

"He developed the view that the conflict in Syria was a sectarian struggle between Sunni Islam and Shia Islam, and being a Sunni Moslem, he wanted to fight against the Shi’ites in Syria by joining the Free Syrian Army

(FSA)," the statement said.

A colleague who knew of Khairul's plans has been put under a travel restriction order after failing to report him to superiors.

65 Daesh Takfiris killed in Iran missile attack: IRGC
[Iran Press TV] At least 65 ISIS terrorists, including several high-ranking intelligence commanders, were killed in Iran's recent missile attack against the Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
group’s targets in eastern Syria, according to a statement by Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

Four ISIS positions were struck in the missile attack, according to the statement sent to PressTV on Tuesday.

The IRGC fired six medium-range ground-to-ground ballistic missiles into ISIS bases in Syria’s Dayr al-Zawr on Sunday in retaliation for twin terrorist attacks in the Iranian capital Tehran, which killed 17 people and injured over 50 others.

A ISIS weapons and munitions cache in northern Dayr al-Zawr was "precisely struck and completely annihilated," the statement said, adding that several tanks, military vehicles and suicide cars and a huge number of long-range missiles were destroyed. It added that six ISIS Takfiris were killed and 10 injured in the attack.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pie fight, Bella grabbed the cocoanut cream...
a ISIS command and operation center in the eastern Syrian city of al-Muhassan was also targeted, which the IRGC described as "one of the key and crucial ISIS centers in the region." In the missile strike, more than 15 Kazakh, Saudi and Afghan bad boyz were potted, including senior Saudi ISIS commander, Sa’ad al-Qosaibi, the statement said.

In a strike on a ISIS gathering center in the city of al-Mayadin, east of Dayr al-Zawr, 27 bad boyz were potted, including three Libyans, and a number of others injured.

Some 17 bad boyz were potted and a number of others severely injured in an attack on a military hospital in al-Mayadin. The casualties included Tunisians, Iraqi and Chinese nationals.

Earlier reports said on Tuesday that six Libyan ISIS commanders were killed in the IRGC attack on al-Mayadin; two of whom have been identified as Abu Asim al-Libyai and Abdel Kader al-frani, better known as Abu Harith.

On June 7, gunnies mounted almost simultaneous assaults on Iran’s Parliament and the Mausoleum of the late Founder of the Islamic Theocratic Republic Imam Khomeini. The ISIS Takfiri terrorist group grabbed credit for the assaults.

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said on Tuesday the IRGC’s missile strike on ISIS was just a small part of the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s reaction to the "indiscriminate" attacks by the terror group on the Iranian soil.

"Iran’s defense doctrine is based on the principle of active and effective deterrence and responds to any possible regional and trans-regional threats in the strongest way," Dehqan said.

Pakistan moves ahead on border fence over Afghan objections
[AlAhram] Pakistain said Tuesday that it will soon begin building a fence along its border with Afghanistan to improve security, a move that has angered authorities in Kabul.

The two nations are divided by the 2,400-kilometer Durand Line, drawn by British rulers in 1896. Kabul does not recognize it as an international border, causing friction between the two neighbors, with Pakistain suggesting Afghanistan has designs on part of its territory. The line runs through ethnic Pashtun territory, dividing families and tribes between the two countries.

A Mighty Pak Army statement said the first phase of the project will focus on the Bajur, Mohmand and Khyber tribal regions -- all regarded by authorities as areas prone to cross-border infiltration by bully boys. The military said it will also build new forts and border posts to improve surveillance and defensibility.

It said a secure border is in interest of both countries and a well-coordinated security mechanism is essential for peace and stability.

Afghanistan and Pakistain have long accused each other of turning a blind eye to bully boyz operating along their porous frontier, but Afghanistan is opposed to the building of the fence.

"Pakistain has no right to fence or construct any building along the border with Afghanistan," said Najib Danish, deputy front man for Afghanistan's Interior Ministry. He warned of retaliatory action, referring to previous firefights that erupted when Pakistain sought to build border fortifications.

"In the past also Pakistain made a mistake by constructing buildings along the border and faced strong reaction from us. We hope they don't repeat such mistakes once again," he said.

Venezuela dares US to send in Marines as crisis in the country continues
[Iran Press TV] Venezuela has dared the US to "send in the Marines" after Washington tries to initiate a regional plan over the crisis in the country.

On Tuesday, US Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan attempted to garner support at an Organization of American States (OAS) meeting for a mission of mediators to be sent to Venezuela.

"The 'contact group' you're proposing is completely useless and unnecessary," said Venezuelan Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez at the meeting which was held in Mexico’s Cancun.

"The only way you could impose it would be to send in your Marines -- who would meet with a crushing response from Venezuela if they dared make such a misstep," she added.

Three suspected Hasm militants killed in shootout with police in Alexandria: Interior ministry
[AlAhram] Egypt’s Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday that police potted three snuffies suspected of being members of the krazed killer group Hasm after they shot at security forces who were trying to apprehend them in Alexandria.

The location of the suspected snuffies was determined using information obtained by the National Security Agency, according to the statement published by the interior ministry.

The ministry stated that weapons and ammunition were found in the possession of the krazed killers.

On Sunday, Hasm grabbed credit for an attack on a police checkpoint, which killed one policeman and injured four others earlier that day in Maadi, Cairo.

Hasm, which is designated as a terrorist organization, has grabbed credit for a number of attacks against Egyptian security personnel, mostly at security checkpoints.

Egypt's police repel major militant attack in North Sinai, fending off gunfire, car bomb
[AlAhram] Air Force targets meeting of Ansar Beit El-Maqdis leaders in Sinai

Egyptian police in the city of Arish, capital of North Sinai, fought off a major terrorist attack on a security checkpoint on Monday, the interior ministry said.

Militants shot up security personnel at a checkpoint on the International Road, meanwhile deploying a car loaded with explosives. However,

the police were able to win the firefight and prevent the car from reaching its target.

"Security forces repelled the attack and destroyed the trapped vehicle before it reached the checkpoint," an interior ministry statement said.

Egypt's military front man also reported on anti-terrorist actions elsewhere in the Sinai Peninsula.

The Egyptian Air Force targeted a "terrorist assemblage" for leaders of Ansar Bait El-Maqdis, the ISIS offshoot, in North Sinai on Tuesday.

Reporting on another operation, the military front man said that security forces units have incarcerated

Eight dead as gunmen ambush convoy near largest US base in Afghanistan
[DAWN] Afghan Taliban
...Arabic for students...
gunnies have killed eight Afghan guards working at the largest American base in Afghanistan, officials said Tuesday, as the US appears set to boost its troop presence in the country.

The guards were ambushed near Bagram base north of Kabul as they were driving home in a convoy late Monday, said district governor Abdul Shakoor Quddusi.

"They were all local residents serving as guards at Bagram," he said, adding that two other guards were maimed.

The Afghan Taliban grabbed credit for the attack, which came as the turbans intensify their nationwide spring offensive against Western and government targets.

Washington is soon expected to announce an increase in the US military deployment to bolster Afghan forces, who are struggling to contain the insurgency. American military commanders in Afghanistan have requested thousands of extra boots on the ground.

15 killed in Al-Shabaab attack in Somali government building
[NEWS.XINHUANET] At least 15 people were killed and scores of others injured in a bomb kaboom that hit the Wadajir district headquarters in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Tuesday.

Internal Security Ministry front man Ahmed Mohammed Mohamud said a vehicle loaded with explosives went kaboom! inside the headquarters and also destroyed houses nearby.

"There are heavy casualties and the corpse count could rise," Mohamud told journalists in Mogadishu.

Among the injured is Wadajir district commissioner who was inside the building at the time of the attack. Ambulances rushed to the scene and carried away the maimed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

An eye witness Guled Isse told Xinhua he saw bodies strewn on the floor minutes after the kaboom.

Terror group al-Shabaab

has grabbed credit for the attack, which happened barely a week after another deadly attack at a restaurant in Mogadishu claimed 29 lives.

Most of the casualties were reported to be civilians who were near the scene at time of the boom-mobile kaboom.

Local residents said the blast has destroyed the compound and sent a tick plume of black smoke into the sky.

'Forced conversion': Police told to produce Ravita in Sindh High Court on June 22
[DAWN] MITHI: The Sindh High Court has ordered police to produce Ravita Meghwar -- a Hindu girl who, according to her family, was kidnapped, forcibly converted and married off to a Moslem man -- before the court on June 22.

The Mirpurkhas DIG and Tharpakr SSP have been directed by an SHC bench headed by Justice Salahuddin Panhwar to ensure the girl’s presence at the next date of hearing. The court issued the directive on an application filed by Ravita’s father, Satram Das Meghwar, through Advocate Bhagwandas, against her conversion and marriage.

Mr Meghwar told the court that his daughter, who was 16 years old, had been illegally married off to Syed Nawaz Ali Shah after having been kidnapped from her village near Nagarparkar Town on June 6.

She was named Gulnaz after the conversion. The same day she married 36-year-old Shah at the marriage registrar’s office in union council Gulzar Khalil in Samaro of Umerkot district. Mr Meghwar said his daughter was born on July 14, 2001.

His lawyer contended that the marriage under the age of 18 was a punishable offence under the Sindh Child Marriages Restraint Act, 2013. He said the registrar had mentioned Mr Shah’s year of birth (1980) and the national identity card number on the marriage certificate. Ravita’s age was shown as about 18 years, but there was no mention of her NIC number.

Similarly, the lawyer said, the certificate of conversion to Islam also did not mention her date of birth and NIC number, but her age was shown as 18 years.

"She was kidnapped from her house and forcibly married off to a man twice her age," said Mr Meghwar, who had lodged an FIR against Ali Nawaz Shah, Madad Ali Shah, Umar Junejo and Sher Mohammad Junejo for kidnapping his daughter. The FIR was registered under Section 365 of the Pakistain Penal Code at the Dano Dandhal cop shoppe in Nangarparkar taluka a week ago.

Earlier, Mr Shah and Ravita had filed in the SHC an application seeking protection and accusing the girl’s parents of issuing death threat. The court had fixed June 30 the date of hearing on the application.

Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines begin joint sea patrols against IS
[FMT] Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia started joint sea operations to hinder piracy and counter the growing threat of terrorism on Monday.

The "Indomalphi" tripartite defense patrols kicked off aboard an Indonesian warship anchored at a port in Tarakan city during a ceremony attended by defense ministers from the three nations. The joint operations will cover the Celebes Sea, where the three countries share maritime borders, and the nearby Sulu Sea.

The joint patrols follow a series of abductions in the Sulu Sea where the Abu Sayyaf seized Indonesian ship crew members and other victims and held them for ransom.

Indonesian and Malaysian security officials also fear that terrorists from the fighting in Marawi may flee to nearby areas in the two countries. Malaysian Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said,

"What's happening in Mindanao can also happen in Malaysia and Indonesia," adding that the threat from Islamic State is real and must be tackled together.

Indonesia on Monday also inaugurated a maritime command center in the naval base of Tarakan, a town in the province of North Kalimantan on Borneo island. Its defense minister Ryamizard Ryacudu said the joint operations patrols would continue indefinitely until the problems of terrorism and piracy around the three nations’ borders end.

Indonesian National Armed Forces commander Gen Gatot Nurmantyo said in addition to naval ships, the operations would also include the three nations’ armies, air forces, and navies, and will involve reconnaissance aircraft, a submarine, and fighter jets.

Nurmantyo hoped that Singapore and Brunei, whose top security officials were also present at Monday's event, would join the operations.

Earlier in the day, Nurmantyo, along with his Malaysian and Philippine counterparts, inaugurated an intelligence-sharing military command centre in Tarakan. Similar centers will be built in nearby Tawau, a city in the east coast of Sabah, and Bongao, an outlying region in the southern Philippines.

Iran's vultures come home to roost
[Foreign Policy] By Alex Vatanka

On Sunday, six ballistic missiles launched by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched from western Iran, and came crashing down on their targets in Syria’s eastern governorate of Deir Ezzor. The attack, Iranian officials said, was retaliation for the Islamic State'fs June 7 terror attacks in Tehran, which left 18 people dead. An IRGC spokesman said the attack was also a “warning message” for the terror group’s “regional and international allies.”

Iran’s top leadership has left little doubt who it believes those allies are. In an earlier speech, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei responded to President Donald Trump’s remarks accusing Iran of being the godfather of terrorism in the Middle East. “You [the United States] and your agents are the source of instability in the Middle East,” the Iranian leader charged. “Who created the Islamic State? America.”

Iran’s terror problem, however, cannot be resolved by lobbing ballistic missiles at eastern Syria or rhetorical bombs at the United States. The June 7 terror attack by five lightly armed but well-organized terrorists against two of Iran’s top landmarks — the parliament and the mausoleum of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic — serve as a stark reminder of the dangers of blowback from Iran’s multiple interventions in the Arab world. Without some kind of introspection, Iran will likely remain in the line of fire of Sunni jihadis for a long time to come.

Iran to respond more decisively to terrorist attacks on its soil: Rouhani
[Iran Press TV] Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has stressed that the Islamic Theocratic Republic will respond "more decisively" to any future terrorist attack on Iran's soil.

Rouhani made the remarks in a ceremony on Tuesday in reference to Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) firing six medium-range ground-to-ground missiles at ISIS bases in Syria’s Dayr al-Zawr on Sunday in retaliation for twin terrorist attacks in the Iranian capital Tehran, which killed 17 people and injured over 50 others.

He added that the IRGC’s move to fire missiles toward ISIS positions in Syria was not made by one person or military component.

"If we decide to target a location with missiles, this decision falls within the field of national security," said Rouhani.

"Such decisions are made by the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC)," he added.
Rouhani, the chairman of the SNSC, said the body had in response to the terrorist attacks in Tehran given wider authority to the country's Armed Forces than the missile raid on ISIS in Syria.

Earlier in the day, the IRGC announced that at least 65 ISIS terrorists, including several high-ranking intelligence commanders, were killed in Iran's missile attack.

Suicide bomber 'shouting Allahu Akhbar' and wearing an explosive vest blows himself up at Brussels central station
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] A jacket wallah who allegedly shouted 'Allahu Akbar' and triggered an explosive vest at Brussels Central Station has been bumped off and killed by soldiers.

Shots rang out soon after 9pm as police and soldiers moved in 'to neutralise a suspect who was threatening civilians,' said an investigating source.

The suspect was said to be wearing a rucksack packed with explosives around Belgium's busiest railway station and reportedly tried to blow up a trolley or a suitcase, local media reported.

Tourists were among those who fled in panic, and within a few minutes nearby shops and restaurants were shutting down.

The Grand Place, the city's most popular tourist spot, was completely evacuated because of fears that the man might not be acting alone.

An attacker who detonated a nail bomb he was carrying in a suitcase at Brussels Central Station has been identified as a 36-year-old Moroccan national from the jihadi ghetto of Molenbeek.
Known only as Oussama Z, officials have said he was not on their radar for links to terrorism, though some local media said he was well-known for being as serial sex offender and others said he was embroiled in drug crime.

He is the latest in the long line of Death Eater to have come from the Brussels municipality of Molenbeek, branded as the 'jihadist capital of Europe' which harboured Salah Adbeslam, who is in prison for the Gay Paree attacks in 2015.

Attempted jacket wallah Oussama Z entered the station at 8.39pm and twice approached a group of 10 passengers and on the second time stood in the middle of them, screamed, and tried to blow himself up.

It appears he botched his attack as the suitcase, which contained nails and gas canisters, only partially went kaboom! before catching fire which later caused a bigger blast.

When he realised his bomb had failed, he ran down the platform towards the station manager before returning to the scene of the blast shouting 'holy shit! Allahu akbar' at a soldier, who shot him dead.

It comes as police raided a home in Molenbeek and locked down an area of Antwerp less than 30 miles away amid an ongoing incident.
Update at 12:45 from the same article: his full name is Oussama Zariouh. I think it's time to make being Muslim and a criminal a deportable situation. The science is settled.

IDF: Knife-wielding Palestinian attacks Israeli troops, is shot dead
[IsraelTimes] No soldiers injured in attempted stabbing outside West Bank settlement of Adam, north of Jerusalem.

A Paleostinian assailant was rubbed out by Israeli troops as he attempted to stab them next to a pop-up military checkpoint north of Jerusalem on Tuesday, the army said.

The Paleostinian man approached the soldiers during a security check along the road between the Jewish settlement of Adam and the Paleostinian city of Qalandiya in the central West Bank. When he tried to stab them, the Israeli force "responded with gunfire," the army said.

The alleged assailant died of his wounds, the army added. The Paleostinian Health Ministry later identified him as Bahaa Samir al-Harbawi, 23, from al-Azariya, a village near Jerusalem.

No Israeli soldiers were reported injured in the attempt.

ISIS Lord High Holy Man, al-Baghdadi confidant, killed by US-led coalition forces
[FOXNEWS] U.S.-led coalition forces said they have killed Turki al-Bin’ali, ISIS' chief holy man, in Syria Arclight airstrike last month.

Al-Bin'ali, who called himself "Grand Mufti," was killed in an Arclight airstrike on May 31 in Mayadin, Syria, according to a news release from the Combined Joint Task Force ‐ Operation Inherent Resolve.

The holy man's main role was recruiting turbans and causing terrorist attacks across the globe. al-Bin'ali, who has been the terror group's chief holy man since 2014, supplied propaganda encouraging murder and other atrocious acts. He tried to legitimize the formation of the so-called "caliphate" and was a close confidant of His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us...
, the leader of the jihadi group.

The holy man's recruiting efforts for the terrorist organization included many filmed lectures trying to condone and provoke the slaying of innocent people.

The Bahraini holy man wrote religious justifications for the enslavement of thousands of women from Iraq's Yazidi minority and helped establish the ISIS branch in Libya. He rose to be one of the bully boy group's leading ideologues.

Celebrations that kill
[DAWN] A YOUNG life brutally extinguished in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
. A picture of a teenager lying in a hospital bed in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
. There have been many more such images and reports. The guns have been blazing again in the wake of Pakistain’s victory in the Champions Trophy, but many of the bullets have been shorn of celebratory status. Some of them, in fact, have proved to be lethal, transforming joy into sorrow. Meanwhile,
...back at the revival hall, the pastor had finally been wrestled from the pulpit.
Y'got the wrong guy! he yelled just before Sergeant Malone's billy club landed...

the number of people injured in the celebratory fire runs into the hundreds. While this manner of jubilation must surely be considered odd in any civilised nation, what is more puzzling -- and disheartening -- in our case is the way in which the political elite not only tolerates such dangerous expressions of joy but is often willing to participate in the exercise. Further, it seems that our law enforcers, instead of cracking down on revellers with guns, prefer to stay at a safe distance from them. There may be the odd arrest or two at the insistence of the opposition and media, as in the case of a PPP politician in the latest instance. But then, everyone is aware that such action is taken usually to placate those sections of the public that are seen as ’overreacting’ to the perilous fallout of celebratory firing.

This country is no stranger to stern administrators fond of firing coppers on the spot. Quite often, the law enforcers are threatened with dismissal for being unable to curb a certain practice. So why don’t the same administrators use their authority to set coppers on the trail of all those who love to indulge in senseless shooting sprees? Indeed, the purge must begin with the gun-toting, firing goons who accompany all kinds of leaders, big or small, and who must celebrate all victories in this appalling manner. Unless the authorities show that they are serious about curbing the practice, celebratory firing will continue to take many lives that need not have been cut short.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Polio outbreak leaves 17 children paralyzed in Syria
[IsraelTimes] WHO spokesperson says situation ’very serious’; kids infected from specific type of vaccine.

A polio
...Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by infection with the poliovirus. Between 1840 and the 1950s, polio was a worldwide epidemic. Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. However, since the vaccine is known to make Moslem pee-pees shrink and renders females sterile, bookish, and unsubmissive it is not widely used by the turban and automatic weapons set...
outbreak in war-ravaged Syria has paralyzed at least 17 children since March, the World Health Organization said Tuesday, describing the situation as "very serious."

Fifteen more cases have thus been confirmed since WHO first announced, less than two weeks ago, that Syria had been hit by its first outbreak of the crippling disease since 2014.

"We are very much worried, because if there is one case of polio with a kid that is paralyzed, it is already an outbreak," WHO front man Tarim Jasarevic told news hounds in Geneva.

He pointed out that for every polio-caused paralysis, there are on average nearly 200 children who have the virus but no symptoms.

"The virus is circulating. It is very serious."

The new cases all surfaced between March 3 and May 23, but were only just confirmed, since it can take up to two months to determine with certainty that a case of acute flaccid paralysis stems from polio, he said.
"It is expected that we will have more confirmations," Jasarevic warned.

All but one of the cases were registered in the Mayadeen district of the oil-rich Deir Ezzor province, most of which is controlled by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group and where a siege of the capital has restricted access to basic goods and services for some of the population.

WHO did not specify whether the Deir Ezzor cases were in areas under IS control.

One case of the crippling and potentially fatal viral disease that mainly affects children under the age of five has also surfaced in IS stronghold Raqqa.

But Jasarevic said it remained unclear if polio was actually circulating in Raqqa, or if the paralyzed child had caught the virus elsewhere.

Vaccine-derived polio
Unlike the last polio outbreak in Syria, which affected 36 children, the current outbreak does not involve the so-called "wild" version of the virus.

Instead, it originated from a specific type of polio vaccine, which contains small amounts of weakened but live virus.

Oral polio vaccine (OPV) replicates in the gut and can be passed to others through fecal-contaminated water -- meaning it won’t hurt the child who has been vaccinated, but could infect their neighbors in places where hygiene and immunization levels are low.
Who on earth decided this version was a good idea in a war zone, where hygiene and immunization levels are necessarily abysmal??
WHO plans to bring in more of the vaccine
...the same vaccine, or will they be smart this time?
to get immunizations levels high enough to ensure they can halt the outbreak, Jasarevic said, adding that the aim is to vaccinate more than 400,000 children under five in Deir Ezzor.
...which is mostly under ISIS control, as was just mentioned. Is ISIS likely to let them just waltz in, vaccinate all the kiddies including the Yezidi slave girls and unwilling Lion Cubs, then waltz out again?
"Our teams on the ground are currently looking into the logistics," WHO front man Oliver Rosenbauer told AFP.

"We still don’t know how we will get the vaccine in... by truck or helicopter," he added.

Militants planning suicide attack on Afghan parliament with some MPs support
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The anti-government armed Death Eaters are planning to carry out a suicide kaboom on the parliament building with the support of some politicians.

The issue was shared by certain politicians in the Lower House of the Parliament, Wolesi Jirga, during the general session of the parliament on Monday.

An MP Nilofar Ibrahimi said they have been informed regarding the possible attack by the security sources.

She said the intelligence reports shared with the parliament indicates that two politicians are attempting to assist in bring the jacket wallahs to the parliament building.

According to MP Ibrahimi, the two politicians either belonging to the Lower House or Upper House of the Parliament.

The Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi also said he has been informed regarding the plan allegedly involving politicians.

He said the issue has been shared with the security institutions to take steps in a bid to foil the attack plan.

This comes as capital Kabul witnessed growing instability, mainly due to insurgency led by the Death Eaters and several attacks were carried out late last month and earlier this month, leaving hundreds of people dead or maimed.

Brazil police accuse president of corruption with evidence
[NEWS.XINHUANET] Brazil's police department said they have evidence of President Michel Temer receiving bribes, the Federal Supreme Court (STF) said on Tuesday.

The STF disclosed a report by the police pointing to corruption by Temer and his former special adviser Rodrigo Rocha Loures.

"Given the silence of the nation's top leader and of his former special adviser, the evidence coming from the set of documents compiled by the judicial process ... indicates, strongly, the practice of passive corruption," the police report said.

The investigation of Temer is based on testimony from suspects in a meat-packing scandal, who have admitted their company, JBS, paid government officials, including Temer, to overlook their violations of health and safety standards.

Gertz: Democrats Block Witnesses from Testifying in House Intel Probe
[FreeBeacon] House Democrats are continuing to block testimony from about a dozen witnesses who sought to appear before the intelligence oversight panel investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Congressional officials said one of the key witnesses, former informal adviser to the Trump campaign Carter Page, was scheduled to testify at a closed hearing of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

But Democrats on the committee blocked the testimony, asserting they needed more time to prepare.

"He's the guy that many Democrats have been pointing to as the supposed mastermind and you would think they were interested hearing his story," said one Capitol Hill official.

Rep. Adam Schiff (Calif.), the committee's Democratic leader, did not respond to emails seeking comment on the blocked testimony.

WASHINGTON--The Supreme Court on Monday ruled on lawsuits involving the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that have been running since then, ruling mostly in favor of the federal agents sued for their actions following the attacks, but remanding one issue back to the lower courts for another hearing.

"After the September 11 terrorist attacks in this country, and in response to the deaths, destruction, and dangers they caused, the United States Government ordered hundreds of illegal aliens to be taken into custody and held," Justice Anthony Kennedy began for the Court.

He noted that for some of these aliens, this "custody lasted for days and weeks, then stretching into months."

Philippine military escalates bombing in Marawi
[Inquirer] Military aircraft bombed rebel positions and ground troops launched a renewed effort against Islamic State-inspired terrorists holed up in this city on Tuesday, and a military spokesperson said the aim was to wrap up the fighting as soon as possible. The offensive comes amid worries that terrorist reinforcements could arrive after Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan.

Fighting in Marawi has entered a fifth week, and nearly 350 people have been killed, according to the latest military count. Fleeing residents say they have seen dozens of bodies in the debris of homes destroyed in the bombing and crossfire.

“We are doing our best to expedite the liberation of Marawi at the soonest time possible. We cannot definitely say when we could end this because we are fighting door-to-door and there are booby traps that pose danger to our troops,” said military spokesman Restituto Padilla.

He said the military meant to prevent the conflict from escalating after the end of Ramadan. Padilla said, "We are closely watching certain groups and we hope they will not join the fight."

Some Muslim residents said other groups might join the fighting after Ramadan. "As devout Muslims, we are forbidden to fight during Ramadan so afterward, there may be new groups coming in,” said Faisal Amir, who has stayed on in the city despite the conflict.

Fighting was intense early on Tuesday as security forces made a push to drive the terrorists, entrenched in Marawi’s commercial district, south toward a lake on the edge of the city. Padilla said, "The troops continue to get deeper into once enemy-held positions, as evidenced by the recovery of [bodies] of terrorists and their firearms."

Planes dropped bombs from overhead, while on the ground, automatic gunfire continued with occasional blasts from bombs and artillery. Armored vehicles fired volleys of shells while the rebels responded with gunfire and rocket-propelled grenades.

Fighting later died down as heavy rain fell.

An Army corporal near the front line said, "We still have to clear more than 1,000 structures," adding infantry units were left behind at areas marked as clear to prevent terrorists from recapturing ground they had lost.

In a statement, Padilla said the government’s losses rose to 65 with the deaths of two more soldiers in the fighting. As of Monday, the rebels had lost 258, he said.

Civilian deaths remain at 26, although the number could be higher as the military had not yet reached inner parts of the city where the terrorists reportedly executed Christians.

During a visit to wounded soldiers in Cagayan de Oro, Philippine president Duterte said the nation’s hope of stamping out the Maute militants lay in expediting the peace process with Moro separatist groups. He said that once the peace process went through, he would ask the Moro Islamic Liberation Front to deal with the Maute group and its Abu Sayyaf allies.

“You take care of that since that is the area you want—central Mindanao, Lanao, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat,” Duterte said he would tell MILF chair Murad Ebrahim.

Some rebels may have already fled Marawi to escape the latest military offensive. Thirteen suspected Maute followers were arrested in Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur province on Friday after attracting attention in a hospital.

Champs-Elysees attacker, on terror watchlist, had gun license
[IsraelTimes] Police say Adam Djaziri, 31, had no criminal record; several trips to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey caught attention of authorities.

Questions arose Tuesday over how a known radical Islamist who rammed a car laden with weapons and gas canisters into a police van on Gay Paree’s Champs-Elysees was able to hold a firearms licence.

Adam Djaziri, a 31-year-old who had been on a watch list for radical Islamists since 2015, was killed on Monday afternoon as his car smashed into the van on the French capital’s most famous avenue. Two handguns and a Kalashnikov-style assault rifle were found in the car, while a weapons stash was found at the home of the assailant, who died in the incident.

New study supports Trump: 5.7 million noncitizens may have cast illegal votes
[WashingtonTimes] A research group in New Jersey has taken a fresh look at postelection polling data and concluded that the number of noncitizens voting illegally in U.S. elections is likely far greater than previous estimates.

As many as 5.7 million noncitizens may have voted in the 2008 election, which put Barack Obama in the White House.

The research organization Just Facts, a widely cited, independent think tank led by self-described conservatives and libertarians, revealed its number-crunching in a report on national immigration.

#4  A lot of non citizens are legal and they are also ineligible to vote.

Also, felons may cast illegal ballots fairly easily and ballot counters may miss it.

Also, people can pose as a voter fairly easily, especially on mail in voting.

Also people may vote twice in different states or may cast votes for deceased voters still on the voting roles.

In 2008 and 2012, illegally assisted voting (e.g., people in the ballot area instructing voters)was also common. In fact there were actually admissions (or bragging) statements about this.

The problem of measuring the scale. Each one of these illegal vote types requires different methodologies to check and even the best 'after the fact' studies will have enormous error bands (if it is an honest study), except the felon, double state and deceased votes which, if everyone in all states cooperates, can be determined to considerable accuracy.

Spanish matador Ivan Fandino's 'brash style' leads to last bullfight
[CBS Sports] Spanish matador Ivan Fandino died Saturday in France after getting caught in his cloak and being gored in the chest. Fandino was 36 years old, and is survived by a wife and daughter. He is the second matador to be killed in the past 12 months, with 29-year-old Victor Barrio suffering the same fate last July. Fandino was known for his brash style, famously fighting six bulls on his own in 2012.

Burglar ends up flat on his back in yard after brawl with NC homeowner
[Charlotte Observer] If the mugshot is any indication, an alleged burglar got more than he bargained for during an attempted break in at a Carolina Beach home.

Police say they found 28-year-old John Alexander Bracken lying in the front yard of the home, and he looked like he’d been run over by a truck.

Wilmington TV station WECT says the beating occurred when Bracken attempted to break into a home on Monroe Avenue in Carolina Beach, about 9 p.m. Saturday.

Police told the station Bracken kicked in the front door, expecting no one was home. But a resident was inside and reached the door just as Bracken walked in.

A fight ensued and Bracken ended up flat on his back in the yard. Bracken was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, media outlets have reported.

The resident was uninjured, it was reported.

TV station WWAY reports Bracken was taken to the New Hanover County Jail and placed under a $7,500 bond. He was out of jail Monday.

Prof Who Made Belligerent Appearance On Tucker Carlson Suspended Indefinitely, Whines, Bitches, Moans
[DAILYCALLER] A former professor at Essex County College was indefinitely suspended two days after her heated appearance on "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

Lisa Durden was told that she had to cancel her classes and report to Essex County College’s human resources department two days after a June 6 appearance on the prime time Fox News show. School officials then indefinitely suspended her.

"They did this to humiliate me," Durden told The Star-Ledger. "Essex County College publicly lynched me in front of my students."
My dear former professor, it is evident that lynching and humiliation are two very different categories of experience. For one thing, after being humiliated you are still alive and able to talk utter nonsense.

Republican Handel Wins Georgia House Election
[HOSTED.AP.ORG] Republican Karen Handel has won a nationally watched congressional election in Georgia and avoided a major upset after the most expensive House campaign in U.S. history.

Her victory over Democrat Jon Ossoff in Georgia's 6th Congressional District comes after Republican special congressional election wins in Montana, Kansas and South Carolina.
Polls a few days ago had Ossoff up by five points, so he was the one who was "upset." The Dems spent many multiples of what the guy's salary would have been -- ridiculously many millions.
So thoughtful of them to donate those many millions to the local economy, where the multiplication effect of recirculation will do so much good... and the Republicans will get all the credit for the result. It's like a virtuous cycle or something.

The Democrats paid local sales taxes on their purchases, the property owners they rented their headquarters from paid property taxes, and every penny they spent in the state and the district will now recirculate several times there -- that's what Americans do better than just about anyone, I've read. Turning Gaza’s lights back on, Abbas’s rival Dahlan makes dramatic return to center stage
Wave goodby to the dream of a two state solution.
[IsraelTimes] Brokering a deal with Egypt to ship in fuel, the former Fatah security chief may have managed to ’save’ the Strip... and helped Egypt and Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", knock the Paleostinian president down a few pegs.

Gazoo’s electricity crisis may be drawing to an end, and as the lights come back on, Paleostinians are looking at an unlikely hero who managed to broker a deal between Egypt and Hamas: Mohammad Dahlan.

Egypt on Tuesday was expected to begin sending dozens of fuel trucks to the Hamas-run Strip to bring the Gazoo power station back online and supply electricity to residents.

#1  As I understand it, Dahlan is actually a good guy by Gaza standards, in the sense that Hamas hates him. It is significant that he can get the current boss to kiss his ring then he turns on the lights for local folk; it is a major kick in the nuts to Hamas.

I believe this is a positive development.

Severed human cocktail toe stolen from Yukon hotel pub
A barman in Canada's Yukon Territory is furious that the key ingredient to the famed "Sourtoe Cocktail" - a mummified human toe - has been stolen.

The severed toe, served in alcoholic drinks at the Downtown Hotel in Dawson City, was stolen by a Quebec resident, according to "Toe Captain" Terry Lee.

"Toes are very hard to come by," Mr Lee said. "I'm really attached to it."

The toe is estimated to be worth CA$80,000 (US$60,000 / £48,000) and is part of local folklore.

For over four decades, tourists and residents have been able to order an alcoholic cocktail of their choice served with a desiccated human toe floating inside.

It's traditionally served with Yukon Gold whiskey, and must touch the drinkers' lips in order to earn a certificate from the bar.

A local saying goes: "You can drink it fast, you can drink it slow, but your lips must touch the toe."

More than 70,000 people have tasted it.

There are several back-up toes available but bar staff say this was their newest and freshest.

"This was our new toe, and it was a really good one. We just started using it this weekend," hotel manager Geri Coulbourne told CBC News.

It was donated by a man who had it amputated, and placed in salt to cure for six months.

It is "an institution in Dawson," Mr Lee said. "When someone frigs around with it, there goes our institution."

At least eight toes have gone missing since the tradition first began in 1973 when Yukon riverboat captain Dick Stevenson discovered a preserved toe in an abandoned cabin.

It has been swallowed twice since then but consuming it is discouraged and the pub fines culprits.

Police are investigating the crime as a theft.

The detained Taliban group has been identified as Ahmad Khurshid who is a fresh graduate of a training center where hard boyz are trained for the suicide attacks and bombings.

The provincial government media office in a statement said Khurshid had recently graduated from the training camp located in Suzma Qala district and was sent to Sancharak district for the attacks.

The statement further added that Khurshid was arrested on Sunday night while supervising a coordinated attack on security posts and other government compounds.

At least one Taliban Death Eater was also killed during the festivities and four others were maimed, the statement added.

India's advice for pregnant women to shun meat, lust derided
[DAWN] India's government is advising pregnant women to avoid all meat, eggs and lusty thoughts. Doctors say the advice is preposterous, and even dangerous, considering India's already-poor record with maternal health.

Women are often the last to eat or receive health care in traditionally patriarchal Indian households. Malnutrition and anaemia or iron deficiency, are key factors behind India's having one of the world's highest rates of maternal mortality, with 174 of every 100,000 pregnancies resulting in the mother's death in 2015.

That's better than five years earlier, when the maternal mortality rate was 205 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births, but still far worse than China's 27 per 100,000 or the United States' 14 per 100,000, according to UNICEF.

"The government is doling out unscientific and irrational advice, instead of ensuring that poor pregnant women get to eat a nutritious, high-protein diet," said Gynaecologist Arun Gadre, who is based in the western Indian city of Pune but works in rural areas.

The government booklet, titled "Mother and Child Care," smacks of religious dogma and ignores widely accepted medical evidence that pregnant women benefit from eating protein-rich meats and can safely engage in sex, doctors said.

It says pregnant women should also shun "impure thoughts" and look at pictures of beautiful babies to benefit the fetus.

"Pregnant women should detach themselves from desire, anger, attachment, hatred and lust," reads the booklet, released last week by the Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy, a part of the government's ministry that promotes traditional and alternative medicine.

The traditional medicine minister defended the booklet as containing "wisdom accumulated over many centuries," and said it did not advise specifically against sex, only against all thoughts of desire or lust.

"The booklet puts together relevant facts culled out from clinical practice in the fields of yoga and naturopathy," Minister Shripad Naik said.

province of Afghanistan earlier today, leaving at least four people dead or maimed.

The provincial government in a statement said the incident took place in the vicinity of the 4th police district of the city after a magnetic bomb planted in the vehicle of a judge went off.

The statement further added that the judge serving with the preliminary court of the anti-corruption Sher Rahman was killed in the kaboom and three others were maimed.

At least two of his brothers and another civilian passing from the area in Shesham Bagh were maimed in the kaboom, the statement said, adding that Mr. Rahman was initially maimed in the kaboom and departed this vale of tears after he was shifted to hospital for the treatment.

The provincial hospital officials are saying that the health condition of Rahman’s brothers and the civilian is satisfactory.

Beaver family fell tree in downtown Riga
[NEWS.XINHUANET] A family of beavers living in the canal in downtown Riga have reminded people of their presence in the Latvian capital by felling a tree last week, local television reported on Tuesday.

A spruce, apparently cut by the beavers, has been lying in the lawn by the city canal for more than a week. Although the local authority spends around 5,000 euros (5,550 U.S. dollars) a year on food for the tree-cutting rodents, it does not always prevent them from gnawing on trees, reports said.

The local authority has started feeding the beavers and put metal fencing around trees since a competition was held in 2010 to seek the best solution to the beaver problem in Riga, said Elija Pinke, a representative of the Housing and Environment Department of the Riga City Council.

However,
there's more than one way to skin a cat...
the situation remains practically unchanged, Pinke said.

The city canal is home to a family of four beavers which fiercely guard their territory and chase away any potential neighbor.

In Pinke's words, the animals like the food they receive from the local authority and their pranks with the trees are just an expression of their inquisitive nature.
