#2  Apparently they don't understand how a republic works.

The states choose whether or not to pass these laws, not the feds.

Also the money quote, "Canada believes that lower labour standards in the United States and Mexico, including right to work, give those countries an unfair advantage in attracting jobs."

Yeah, it is amazing how much money you can save and cut costs by not having a Union leach off ya.
Posted by: DarthVader || 09/05/2017 9:45 Comments || Top||

#3  I wonder what they mean by 'lower labor standards'? That the workmanship is lower for non-union (I didn't know unions guaranteed performance - someone call the school district!). I don't really see that between a non union NC build car and an Union built Detroit car (maybe even the reverse...).

I think in a non-right-to-work-state, Especially in a you-must-join-the-union-to-work environment like Washington State Teachers, the union should be held financally and legally responsible for their members. If teacher John fondles little student Mary after school the Union should share some of the blame and financial cost in any lawsuits - and if they knew about John's tendancies - criminal charges as well.

Vladimir Putin warns world faces 'global catastrophe' over North Korea
[CNN] Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that the escalating crisis over North Korea's weapons program risks developing into a "global catastrophe" with mass casualties.

But Putin, speaking in China on Tuesday, cautioned against "military hysteria" and said that the only way to resolve the crisis was through diplomacy.

He warned that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has calculated that the survival of his regime depends on its development of nuclear weapons. Kim had seen how western intervention in Iraq had ended in the overthrow of Saddam Hussein after which the country was ravaged by war, Putin warned, and Kim was determined not to suffer the same fate.

"Saddam Hussein rejected the production of weapons of mass destruction, but even under that pretense, he was destroyed and members of his family were killed," Putin said.

Such short memories. Vlad should speak to some of his United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM) inspectors. One Russian colonel in the UNSCOM office comes to mind. Perhaps the colonel could explain to Vlad the actual thinking and facts at the time.

George Orwell's '1984' And The 'Must Topple' List
[Barley a Blog] From George Orwell’s "1984": "Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street and building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And that process is continuing day-by-day and minute-by-minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."

Church of Flying Spaghetti Monster seeks recognition in German court
The persecution of Pastafarians is unjust, according to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, which is turning to the Constitutional Court in Germany to have its members’ religious rights recognized.

"We believe that a satirical religion should have the same rights as other religions," chairman of the Church, Rüdiger Weida, told DW on Monday. Members of the Church are bound for the Constitutional Court after local and regional courts sided with authorities in the northeastern town of Templin, who removed signs advertising a gathering of members to enjoy noodles and beer.

North Korea seen moving ICBM-grade rocket towards west coast
[Reuters] SEOUL - North Korea has been observed moving what appeared to be an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) towards its west coast, South Korea’s Asia Business Daily reported on Tuesday, citing an unidentified intelligence source.

The rocket started moving on Monday, a day after North Korea’s sixth nuclear test, and was spotted moving at night to avoid surveillance, the report said. North Korea has launch facilities for its missile program on its west coast.

South Korea’s defense ministry said they were unable to confirm the contents of the report. The ministry said in parliament on Monday that North Korea was considered ready to launch more missiles, including ICBMs, at any time.

China-Japan-Koreas
With or Without North Korea, There Is No Moral Justification for Trade with China
[Breitbart] President Donald Trump has alarmed the Chinese government again with a threat to cut economic ties to nations that do business with North Korea.

China is North Korea’s largest trading partner and a major player in the U.S. market. Trump will face heavy criticism suggesting that no trade warnings will get China to abandon its fellow communist state and North Korea may never react rationally to international pressure.

These concerns, like North Korea itself, are not relevant to the real reason America cannot morally justify trade with China: its decades of history committing flagrant human rights abuses, the kind that have gotten countries like Cuba blacklisted from the American market for decades.

Following North Korea’s announcement of yet another nuclear bomb test on Sunday ‐ its sixth such test and, Pyongyang claims, its first successful hydrogen bomb attack ‐ President Trump took to Twitter, scolding South Korea’s leftist government for believing dialogue with the regime was an option and threatening military action against North Korea.

Hurricane Harvey Could Fit Into A Secret Plan To Raise The Debt Ceiling
[Daily Caller] Hurricane Harvey has inadvertently provided Congress with an opportunity to raise the debt ceiling, Axios reports.

Republican leadership in the House is reportedly planning to pass a "clean" bill that would provide $7.85 billion for emergency relief efforts, which would satisfy both the president’s demands for funding and for a bill that has no extraneous measures attached. Once the bill makes its way to the Senate, leadership is planning to attach a debtlimit increase before sending it back to the House.

The administration announced in late August that it wants lawmakers to pass a "clean" debt ceiling increase, meaning a piece of legislation that raises the debt limit with no additional measures attached.

Leadership faces a few major tests in the coming weeks, and raising the debt limit is only one. Republicans in Congress must also figure out a way to keep the government funded past Sept. 30 and are angling to push a tax reform bill through both chambers and onto the president’s desk by December.

#1  It's the "Secret" they always do. A successful ponzi scheme demands it:

Depending on who is doing the research, it is said that the US has raised its debt ceiling (in some form or other) at least 90 times in the 20th century.[11]

The debt ceiling has been raised 74 times since March 1962,[12] including 18 times under Ronald Reagan, eight times under Bill Clinton, seven times under George W. Bush, and five times under Barack Obama. In practice, the debt ceiling has never been reduced, even though the public debt itself may have reduced.

Congress has raised the debt ceiling 14 times from 2001-2013. The debt ceiling was raised a total of 7 times (total increase of $5365bil) during Pres. Bush's eight-year term and it has been raised 7 times (as of 10/2013 a total increase of $5385bil) under Pres. Obama's term as of 2013 (five years in office).

#6  If they hadn't already raised the debt ceiling to support their corruption and vote for me schemes I would think the Hurricane would be the type of reason you might raise it once. As is, NO. Better for the Feds to lone money to Texas (one of the few states that could pay it back) or have a sell-off of Federal property in and around Texas to pay for any funds given by the Federal government to Texas.

Why I Hate Pharmaceutical Industry Commercials and You Should Too
[PJ] Television is overly populated with ads for various pharmaceutical products and I'm SICK of it. (Is there a drug for that?) Viewers cannot watch more than 15 minutes of television without medicine being peddled for a pernicious or deadly condition with a pharmaceutical solution.

"FOR PEOPLE WITH HEART FAILURE, TOMORROW IS NOT A GIVEN," voices a macabre announcer over a sad and somber rendition of "Tomorrow" from the musical "Annie!" (I will not link the commercial on YouTube and thanks for ruining that song for me forever.)

Most commercials on television are there for a good reason: the audience is full of consumers; we buy things and we are enticed by television to purchase new or better products to enjoy. Repetition is key to sales, so while commercials annoy me, I understand why they are there. But that's not the case with prescription medications. I can't go out and buy pharmaceuticals because I, like the majority of the population watching television, am not a physician. I don't know the difference between the TOMORROW IS NOT A GIVEN drug and a baby aspirin. How can I make an informed decision about which one is best for my medical condition? I can't. That is why I pay serious coin to my doctors, who are up to date on the proper medication for my ailments. I hope my doctors will not prescribe me medicine based on my exposure to a 30- or60-second spot on television. Am I asking for the drug because I like the look of the "patients" in the commercials or because I am thankful for just one more TOMORROW? (So ghoulish!) Or is it because I like the name -- they all seem to have snazzy names now like "glitterazatol" or "spazatopaderm"? Do I just go into my internist and ask for "jazzralpneril" or "shazzamazine" because it sounds cool? I hope you don't have doctors who make serious medical decisions based on a patient's TV commercial-based solution. (If any Big Pharma companies steal my made-up drug names, I'll have my lawyers on you.)

All of this marketing costs a fortune. Axios reports: "Pharma ads often cost more because of their length. (They have regulatory requirements to disclose side effects, dosages, etc., so they often need to take out 60-second ads as opposed to 30-second ads.)" So we aren't talking about a standard marketing budget for products like the new tuna-fish-and-Skittles-flavored-Dorito-Taco-Bell burrito, but exponentially more dollars.

NYT warns the 'workers' that Trump really doesn't have their best interests at heart
[American Thinker] There is something actually touching about the profound detachment of the New York Times from blue-collar America, once you get past the condescension and perceive the underlying naiveté of the know-it-alls. Steven Greenhouse, the longtime labor correspondent, uses the Labor Day weekend Sunday Times to ask, "Is Trump Really Pro-Worker?"

I love it when progressive intellectuals throw around the word "worker," as if it were 1917, not 2017. It reeks of nostalgia for a lost vision.

The arguments he marshals are what you'd expect Times readers to value. The graphic deployed by the Times actually depicts Trump as factory effluent, from a circa 1917-looking factory:

And they target employees with propaganda such as the letter the Chase CEO sent to all of his employees about why he left a Trump committee. This letter was nothing more than a propaganda letter support certain politics that in the back of every employees mind, "he signs my paychecks".

Years ago at a major corp an executive walked up to two employees discussing politics and stated that there are two topics forbidden for discussion on the company's facilities, religion and politics. That was wisdom.

This is idiocy at the highest level and these people have shot themselves in the foot.

Congress Faces a Tense Agenda, With Little Margin for Error
[WSJ] WASHINGTON‐Congress returns Tuesday from its summer break and, in a test of the uneasy alliance between President Donald Trump and Senate Republicans, will have to grapple with keeping the federal government open, paying U.S. creditors and passing a hurricane-aid bill.

The list is long, and the time is short. The Trump administration is asking for approval of $7.85 billion to begin paying for the recovery from Hurricane Harvey, with a House vote scheduled for Wednesday. Congress also must keep the government running after current funding expires by Oct. 1, as well as raise the U.S. borrowing limit or risk defaulting on the nation’s debt.

Adding to the tension, the House and Senate are in session at the same time for just 12 days in September, and Messrs. Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell haven’t met in weeks.

Arabia
Yemen: Saudi Arabia 'should fund all humanitarian aid'
[Al Jazeera] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
alone should fund all steps to tackle widespread disease and hunger in war-torn Yemen, a top UN official has said.
They should give me money, too.
Comments by David Beasley, Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), were unusually forthright for such a high-ranking UN official in criticising one party in a conflict.

Calling for an end to the coalition's campaign, he accused the Saudi-led coalition of hampering provision of aid.

"Saudi Arabia should fund 100 percent [of the needs] of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen," Beasley told Rooters news agency on Monday.

"Either stop the war or fund the crisis. Option three is, do both of them."

A Saudi-led coalition embarked on a campaign in March 2015 in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
with the aim of dislodging Iran-backed Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
rebels who control the capital and much of the north and restoring to power the internationally-recognised government of Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Since fighting began, more than 10,000 people have been killed, and millions have been driven from their homes.

The country is also facing a health crisis, with more than 2,000 people having died from cholera since April, more than half a million people infected, and another 600,000 expected to contract the infection this year.

Europe
Fourth aid group stops migrant rescue missions in Mediterranean
[DW] The charity MOAS, which has rescued some 40,000 migrants colonists over the past three years, is to end its current operations off the Libyan coast. Instead it will take aid to the Rohingya who have fled violence in Myanmar.

The Malta-based Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS) on Monday cited an "increasingly complex context" for its decision to suspend operations to rescue migrants colonists in the Mediterranean.

MOAS criticized the EU's efforts to stem the latest wave of migrants colonists plying the main route from Libya to Italia or Spain, amid attempts by Brussels to force Libya to take refugees back and hold them in processing centers.

The charity said Libya was not a safe place to return the migrants colonists and that conditions were basic.

"At the moment it is unclear what is going on in Libya to the detriment of the most vulnerable people there," the charity said in a statement.

"MOAS does not want to become part of a mechanism where there is no guarantee of safe harbor or welcome for those being assisted and rescued at sea," it added.

Instead, the aid group said it would transfer its rescue ship Phoenix to the Bay of Bengal to help persecuted Rohingya Moslems fleeing Myanmar.

Since it began operations in the Mediterranean in 2014, MOAS has helped in the rescue or transfer of some 40,000 migrants colonists. In that period, some 600,000 boat migrants colonists have reached Italia.

But its work has been complicated in recent months by a stepped up response to the migrant issue by European governments. The EU is funding a project to equip and train the Libyan coastguard, whose boats have fallen into disrepair following years of neglect in the wake of the fall of longtime dictator Moamar Qadaffy. The Italian navy has been deployed in recent weeks to repair Libyan ships.

MOAS becomes the fourth group to stop patrols in the Mediterranean amid rising tensions with Libya and Italia over where rescued migrants colonists should be taken.

Last month, a Libyan coastguard boat intercepted a charity ship and ordered it to sail to Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
or risk being fired on. In response, Doctors Without Borders, followed by Save the Children and Germany's Sea Eye suspended their operations. They said their crews could no longer work safely.

The exodus leaves just Proactiva Open Arms, Sea Watch and SOS Mediterranee still running rescue operations. On Monday, the Aquarius, operated by SOS Mediterranee, was the only rescue ship in the Mediterranean.

The aid groups have also faced accusations of collusion with people smugglers in North Africa, which all 10 charities have denied.

Since July, there has been a sharp drop in departures from the Libyan coast. Some 15,373 migrants colonists arrived in Italia by boat in July and August, compared with 44,846 in the same period last year.

Some 13,000 migrants colonists have died in the central Mediterranean since 2014 trying to make the crossing, the International Organization for Migration estimates.

The transfer of MOAS' operations to Asia comes as some 90,000 Rohingya Moslems have fled violence in Myanmar's Rakhine state to neighboring Bangladesh.

MOAS said it planned to provide aid and humanitarian assistance to the Rohingya people.

Syrian forces inside Deir Ezzor city wreak havoc on ISIS bases, positions
[AlMasdar] As Syrian forces push towards Deir Ezzor from the eastern direction, army units still besieged inside the city, backed up by Russian airstrikes, have begun to attack ISIS bases, gathering points and positions throughout various districts that held are by the terrorist group.

According to sources, Syrian Army artillery units very recently identified and targeted an ISIS headquarters in Deir Ezzor’s Huwyqah district, completely destroying it.

Nine ISIS field commanders were present in the building at the time it was struck and most of them are believe to have been killed. Four of the commanders have been identified as Abu Omar al-Karbouli, Abu Muhammad al-Shaiti, Abu Mariam al-Taiyanah and Abu Moawyah Idlib.

Moreover, Russian and Syrian jets continue to pound ISIS positions and gathering points throughout the city and its surrounding countryside including Ayash, al-Shamitiyah, al-Masrab, al-Kharitah, al-Tabani and the Panorama area. The airstrikes have killed and injured tens of ISIS militants.

Finally, there are reports that many Islamic State fighters have start fleeing towards Deir Ezzor’s eastern countryside amid Syrian Army reliving forces push in on the city.

Syrian Army liberates last town before Deir Ezzor city

[AlMasdar] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has reportedly liberated the last town that stands between besieged pro-government forces in Deir Ezzor and eastbound army relief forces attempting to lift the siege on the city.

Several hours ago, reports came in that the strategic crossroad town of Ash-Shula was liberated, bringing vanguard SAA units advancing along the M20 highway to within 25 kilometers of the Panorama area.

Despite numerous reports that Ash-Shula was secured yesterday, this was actually not the case as the Tiger Forces troops who advanced on it decided to set up positions on the northern outskirts of the town and not enter into it.

Whilst it is currently unconfirmed which Syrian Army unit liberated Ash-Shula, with the possibilities being either the Tiger Forces of the 5th Assault Corps, it is most likely the case that it was the later (5th Assault Corps) who in fact secured the town since it is reported that SAA units heading along the M20 highway were the ones to enter it.

In any case, the Tiger Forces held fire control over the town at Mount Neerman since yesterday.

Further north, the SAA is reportedly less than 2 kilometers away from reaching local Deir Ezzor forces at the 137th Brigade Base.

Syrian Army tanks move up to the gates of Deir Ezzor

[AlMasdar] Footage has been released by the Syrian Ministry of Defence (MoD) showing vanguard units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) punching their way towards the gates of Deir Ezzor city.

The video (below) shows Syrian Army tanks and troops, backed up by Russian gunship support, rolling up the last ISIS positions and defense points en-route to relieve pro-government forces that have been besieged in and around the city for almost three years.

Pro-government forces attempting to reach Deir Ezzor currently stand about five kilometers from the city via the northeastern direction, this is confirmed.

Yesterday there were reports that a deep reconnaissance unit from the SAA’s relieving forces scouted their way to besieged army forces at the 137th Brigade Base on the western outskirts of Deir Ezzor and met up with them.

Even if this is true, the reconnaissance mission does not constitute a proper link-up and thus the siege of Deir Ezzor has not yet been lifted despite some pro-government social media outlets saying otherwise.

Furthermore, the town of Ash-Shula officially remains in the hands of ISIS, with the Syrian Army’s elite Tiger Forces taking up positions on the settlement’s northern outskirts.

Syrian Army liberates strategic town en route to Deir Ezzor City

[AlMasdar] At approximately 12:30 P.M. (Damascus Time), the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) took full control of the strategic town of Kabawjib in the western countryside of the Deir Ezzor Governorate.

Led by elements of the 17th Division and 5th Corps, the Syrian Arab Army attacked Kabawjib’s western perimeter after advancing eastward along the Sukhnah-Deir Ezzor Highway.

Unable to hold their positions inside Kabawjib, the Islamic State was forced to withdraw from the town in order to avoid being overrun by the swarming forces of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

Kabawjib was one of the most important supply hubs for the Islamic State in eastern Syria; its loss will likely result in the complete collapse of their western pocket in the Deir Ezzor Governorate.

Two Russian servicemen killed in Syria

[AlMasdar] Two Russian contract soldiers have been killed in Syria by mortar shelling fired by Islamic State terrorists, the Russian defense ministry said on Monday.

According to the ministry, the servicemen were escorting a motor convoy of the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties.

“The motor convoy came under mortar shelling by Islamic State terrorists in the province of Deir ez-Zor. As a result of shelling, one serviceman was killed and another one was badly wounded,” the ministry said.

“The wounded serviceman was promptly taken to hospital but died of deadly wounds, despite efforts taken by medics.”

The men were recommended for state decorations.

Syrian army, allies thrust east to break siege in Deir al-Zor city

[REUTERS] With a sudden lunge through jihadist lines, the Syrian army and its allies on Monday came to within 3 km of relieving the Euphrates city of Deir al-Zor, where Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. has besieged 93,000 civilians and an army garrison for years.

The advance on the eastern city marks another stinging setback for the once-triumphant Islamic State, fast retreating in both Iraq and Syria as its self-declared caliphate crumbles.

Syrian troops were rapidly approaching the city, reaching a point 3 km (2 miles) away, state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
said. Dozens of trucks loaded with food stood ready to enter the enclave in the city once government forces break the siege, it said.

A military media unit run by Hezbollah, a key ally of Damascus, said the advancing forces were heading to the garrison’s camp on the city outskirts.

Deir al-Zor’s provincial governor told Rooters he expected the army could reach the city within hours.

"Islamic State is in confusion. There is no leadership or centralized control," said a commander in the military alliance supporting Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Lord of the Baath...
Hemmed in on all sides, Islamic State, which ruled over millions of people in both Iraq and Syria at its peak in 2014, is falling back on a last Euphrates stronghold downstream of Deir al-Zor city in the towns of al-Mayadin and al-Bukamal, near the border with Iraq.

But as it has lost its core territory - defeated in Iraq’s djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
now yielding street after street in Syria’s Raqqa - the ultra-hardline group has still been able to launch attacks in the West and maintain a threat in other centers such as Libya.

Colombia, ELN rebels agree temporary ceasefire starting Oct. 1
[REUTERS] Colombia and the Marxist ELN rebel group said on Monday they agreed a temporary ceasefire that would run through mid-January 2018, but it would not be in effect when Pope Francis arrives in the Andean country for a visit later this week.

The ceasefire, the first with the ELN, is due to begin on Oct. 1 and end on Jan. 12, with the possibility for extensions if it is respected, President Juan Manuel Santos said in a televised address to the country.

"The priority is to protect citizens, so during this period, kidnappings, attacks on oil pipelines and other hostilities against the civilian population will cease," he said.

The two sides have long said the pope’s visit would be a good opportunity to call a ceasefire. The government said details and verification methods were still being finalized and that was why the ceasefire did not begin immediately.

IDF asked to destroy balcony used to throw stones
[Ynet] Following stone throwing incident at Jewish worshipers returning from Cave of the Patriarchs, legal aid organization Honenu demands IDF destroy balcony from which stones were supposedly thrown.

The legal aid organization Honenu submitted a relatively unusual request a few days ago to IDF Central Command Chief, Maj. Gen. Roni Numa, seeking to demolish the balcony of a Paleostinian home in Hebron,
...Hamas Central in the West Bank...
from which stones were supposedly thrown at Jewish worshipers.

About a month ago, on Friday evening, when several Jewish worshipers returned from the Cave of the Patriarchs to Kiryat Arba, stones were thrown at them from the balcony of one of the houses where a Paleostinian lives.

As a result of the stone-throwing, a 16-year-old boy's eye was injured, requiring medical treatment and his hospitalization for several days.

At the end of the event, the worshipers were rescued by IDF forces.

Following the incident, attorney Haim Bleicher of the Zionist legal aid organization Honenu sent a precedent-setting demand to Numa to destroy the balcony, which he claims was built illegally.

"In 2012, I appealed to the Hebron Brigade commander against the construction of the said balcony," wrote Bleicher, who added that the balcony was built despite the Hebron Agreement, which stipulates that a special construction permit is required to build at a height of over 6 in a building that oversees a street junction.

Bleicher added that "the balcony oversees the junction at a strategic point where people travel from the direction of the Cave (of the Patriarchs) towards Kiryat Arba. The security risk posed by the balcony is obvious.

"On August 12, an Arab crowd gathered on nearby roofs and on the balcony and stoned groups of Jews who had returned from praying in the Cave of the Patriarchs. The destruction of the balcony will be an appropriate response to the event and will reduce the risk posed by it."

Since the letter was sent, the organization has yet to receive a response.

Residents in Hawija lynch ISIS Big Turbans in Kirkuk

Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) Several Islamic State leaders, including deputy chief in charge of the militants affairs, were killed in southwestern Kirkuk, a local source was quoted saying.

Speaking to Baghdad Today on Monday, the source said, “several residents from Hawija, southwestern Kirkuk, attacked militants gathering inside a house in al-Askari district in the town.”

“The attack left four leaders, including deputy chief in charge of the militants affairs in Hawija,” the source, who preferred anonymity, added.

This came after millions of messages were airdropped by Iraqi jets over the past few days in Hawija, the source said. “Most of the residents in central Hawija remained away from IS gatherings, despite being forced to stay near.”

In related news, another local source told AlSumaria News that the militant group imposed partial curfew in the town after attacking house of the leader in charge of the group’s security affairs.

“IS imposed partial curfew in some of the eastern districts in Hawija in the wake of an attack by a hand grenade against house of the group’s security affairs chief, which left one of his sons wounded,” the source said.

“Attacks against houses of the group’s leaders and militants have been on the rise in Hawija and its vicinity,” the source, who asked to be anonymous, added.

Hawija and other neighboring regions, west of Kirkuk, have been held by IS since mid-2014, when the group emerged to proclaim an Islamic “caliphate” in Iraq and Syria. The group executed dozens of civilians and security members there, forcing thousands to flee homes.

On Saturday, further reinforcements from the Federal Police were sent from Baghdad to the town, as the military command declared last week, the end of operations in Tal Afar, the militants’ last haven west of Nineveh, and the approach of the launch of offensives for Hawija.

MoFA Condemns Killing Of Rohingyas, Calls It ‘Genocide’
[Tolo News] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on Monday condemned the killing of Moslem-minority Rohingyas by the Myanmar military and said it was an act of "genocide".

The Rohingya, a Moslem minority in predominantly Buddhist Myanmar, are considered some of the most persecuted people in the world. Myanmar, also known as Burma, considers them Bangladeshi and Bangladesh says they are Burmese.

Egypt finalizes deal with Russia for first nuclear plant
In a country battling both ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood, where the soldiers' guns and sandles are both held together by duct tape, they're going to build a nuclear power plant, with the requirements fior security and precise operation and maintenance.
[Ynet] Russian media say Egypt has finalized a deal to build a nuclear power plant with funding from Moscow after nearly two years of negotiations.

The reports Monday came after Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin
...Second and fourth President and sixth of the Russian Federation and the first to remain sober. Putin is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from polonium poisoning. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to Putin. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead...
in China, where they were attending a summit.

The nuclear plant will be built in Dabaa, about 130 kilometers (80 miles) northwest of Cairo on the Mediterranean coast.

British troops withdraw from south Syria, end training to militants
[AlMasdar] The United Kingdom has withdrawn its troops from the coalition-operated al-Tanf base in Syria’s southwestern desert and de facto ended all military assistance hitherto provided to Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA) affiliated mercenaries in the region.

Just like US military personnel who were also part of the so-called "moderate opposition" training program in southern Syria, British special forces troops operated from a coalition base established at the town of al-Tanf near Syria’s border with Iraq.

Virtually all of the FSA fighters who were part of the Pentagon-vetted training program had, in previous years, fought pro-government forces in Syria’s Deir Ezzor region alongside the al-Qaeda-linked Jahbat al-Nusra

terrorist group.

According to the UK-based Daily Telegraph news group, the British wind-down of support to FSA hard boyz began in June of this year when at least 20 special forces troops were confirmed to have withdrawn from the al-Tanf base.

As of very recently, the remainder of the British contingent at al-Tanf has departed taking with them any further UK support for FSA hard boyz in southern Syria.

The coalition-backed hard boyz at al-Tanf have proved themselves almost entirely more interested in fighting against forces led by the Syrian government in southern Syria rather than fighting ISIS, which was meant to be their official purpose as Western proxies in the region.

Syrian forces advance from 3 directions in east Damascus
[AlMadsar] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has initiated a massive assault on the defenses of heavily-entrenched Islamist Lions of Islam in east Damascus today, advancing against them from three directions.

The advance was launched by troops two seasoned Syrian Army formations, the Elite Republican Guard and 4th Mechanized Division, and resulted in intense festivities erupting across the east Damascus districts of Jobar and Ayn Tarma.

According to reports, the Syrian soldiers have so far manged to secure a major advance around the Hanbalah tunnel area, forcing Islamist Lions of Islam from their positions through sheer weight of numbers and firepower.

The aforementioned heavy festivities are still on going, as is the current Syrian Army operation, and whether or not additional gains are made by pro-government forces today is yet to be seen.

Baghdad Bomb and Bullet Bulletin

6 wounded in bombing attack in al-Dawanem

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Six civilians were wounded in an IED blast in southwestern Baghdad, a security source was quoted saying.

“An IED, placed near a market in al-Dawanem region exploded on Monday, leaving six persons wounded,” the source told Alghad Press on Monday.

“Police cordoned off the blast spot, while ambulances transferred the wounded to hospital for treatment,” the source added.

Violence in the country has surged further with the emergence of Islamic State Sunni extremist militants who proclaimed an “Islamic Caliphate” in Iraq and Syria in 2014.

A monthly count by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI), which excludes security members deaths, said 297 Iraqis, were killed and injured due to violence and armed conflicts during the month of ِAugust. Baghdad was the most affected province with 45 deaths and 135 injuries.

Baghdad has seen almost daily bombings and armed attacks against security members, paramilitary groups and civilians since the Iraqi government launched a wide-scale campaign to retake IS-occupied areas in 2016. While most of of the explosions and attacks went without a claim of responsibility, Islamic State has claimed several incidents.

Two Abu Sayyaf men arrested in anti-terror raid
[GULFTODAY.AE] A senior Philippine military officer on Monday confirmed the arrest of two Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Marine Colonel Edgard Arevalo, the chief of the military’s Public Affairs Office, identified one of those enjugged

as Hajar Abdul Mubin alias Mheraiz, said to be a deputy of Abu Sayyaf leader Furuji operating on the island province of Basilan

Arevalo identified the other Abu Sayyaf member as Abraham Bin Ebong who, along with Mubin were arrested together with six Malaysian nationals in the anti-terrorism campaign.

Arevalo reported the suspects are detained at an undisclosed facility in Kuala Lumpur and are facing charges for committing security offences and violating Malaysian statutes.

"The arrest and detention of these individuals are a significant development on the Philippine government’s security cooperation with Malaysia and other neighboring countries to curb terrorism," Arevalo said.

"This includes attempts to recruit new members or to entice individuals to support terrorism or violent extremism," Arevalo said, referring to the reported move by ISIS holy warriors in the Middle East to expand their operations in Southeast Asia p-particularly in the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.

The Abu Sayyaf has gained notoriety through a spate of kidnap-for-ransom cases that have often been marred by the beheading of their foreign and Filipino hostages.

The Philippine military also confirmed the involvement of the Abu Sayyaf in the siege of Marawi City on May 23 that prompted President Rodrigo "Rody" Duterte to impose martial law over the whole Mindanao.

The military said the Abu Sayyaf and another terrorist group headed by brothers Omar and Abdullah Maute have pledged allegiance to the ISIS holy warriors

BRICS names Pak terror groups
[THEHANSINDIA] For the first time, Pakistain-based terror groups like the LeT and the JeM were named on Monday for causing violence in the region by the BRICS Summit that also asserted that those responsible for committing, organising or supporting terror acts must be held accountable.

In a significant diplomatic win for India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was joined by Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin
...Second and fourth President and sixth of the Russian Federation and the first to remain sober. Putin is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from polonium poisoning. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead...
, Brazilian President Michael Temer and South African President Jacob Zuma in strongly denouncing terror activities of such groups, as they expressed determination to collectively fight the scourge.

The 43-page 'Xiamen Declaration', adopted at the end of the five-nation BRICS plenary, stressed on the need for immediate cessation of violence in Afghanistan.

It expressed "concern" over the security situation in the region and the violence caused by the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...

, Jaish-e-Mohammad
...literally Army of Mohammad, a Pak-based Deobandi terror group founded by Maulana Masood Azhar in 2000, after he split with the Harkat-ul-Mujaheddin. In 2002 the government of Pervez Musharraf banned the group, which changed its name to Khaddam ul-Islam and continued doing what it had been doing before without missing a beat...
, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) and Hizbut Tahrir
...an al-Qaeda recruiting organization banned in most countries. It calls for the reestablishment of the Caliphate...
. Significantly, the ETIM is active in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China and seeks to establish a separate "East Turkistan".

According to officials, Modi raised the issue of terrorism strongly at the BRICS Summit and was joined by other leaders, who expressed willingness to fight this menace. "For the first time, specific listing of terror organizations has been made (in the BRICS declaration)," Secretary (East) in the external affairs ministry Preeti Saran told news hounds.

The inclusion of Pakistain-based terror groups in the declaration is also significant as it indicated a slight shift in the Chinese view towards terror groups operating out of Pakistain.

During the last BRICS Summit in Goa, China did not allow the inclusion of Pakistain-based terror groups in the declaration despite the fact that the Summit was taking place within weeks of the Uri terror strike carried out by a Pakistain-based holy warrior group.

US-backed Syrian militias seize Great Mosque of Raqqah from Daesh
[Iran Press TV] The US-led coalition purportedly fighting the ISIS Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
terrorist group says the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have taken the historic old city of Raqqah and its ancient mosque as they press ahead with their offensive to fully recapture the city.

Army Colonel Ryan Dillon, a front man for the US-led coalition, said in a statement on Monday that the US-backed forces had cleared the Great Mosque of Raqqah, the oldest mosque of the city.

The statement also described the advance as "a milestone" in the Raqqah battle.

"The SDF have made consistent incremental gains in the urban terrain of the city, fighting block by block," noted Dillon.

The SDF said last week said it had captured the final districts in Raqqah’s old city from the ISIS terrorist group.

The walled old city lies in the heart of Raqqah, but ISIS gunnies still control districts in the west of the city.

The SDF says it holds 65 percent of Raqqa in total.

1,200 ISIS fighters neutralized in Raqqa, 65% of city seized by Kurdish forces

[AlMasdar] On Sunday, the YPG (People’s Protection Units) released a full statement covering the battle for Raqqa where heavy clashes continue day and night.

According to the YPG (main military branch of the Syrian Democratic Forces) press statement, some 65% of Raqqa’s provincial capital has been ‘liberated’ while 2,000 hostages were freed from ISIS captivity over the past month.

On the battlefield, a total of nine districts were wrestled from Islamic State combattants in the month of August alone.

In the southern suburbs, the Nazlat Shehade, Hisham Bin Abdulmelik and Old Raqqa neighborhoods have been captured. To the west, the SDF has imposed full control over the Al-Karim and Al-Diriyah districts. The largest advance was nevertheless secured on the eastern axis where the Mehdi, Al-Rafqa, Mansur and Reshid districts have been brought under Kurdish control. Overnight today, the SDF also captured the Moroor district. Effectively, Kurdish forces are now in control of 14 of out the city’s 23 suburbs.

A pincer offensive along the Euphrates River has notably had YPG assault units meet up on the southern flank, thereby pushing ISIS towards rearguard areas in the densely populated city centre.

Since the battle begin, a total of 1,244 Islamic State members have been killed if one is to believe the YPG. Just three prisoners-of-war were taken by Kurdish troops while 28 ISIS suicide bombers were neutralized in the month of August.

In comparison, the YPG admitted to only 101 deaths in its own ranks due to phase five of the Euphrates Wrath offensive. Not long ago, ISIS indicated it had killed over 1,000 YPG/SDF/PKK fighters in the three-month battle.

14 civilians killed in US airstrikes on Raqqah in Syria

[Iran Press TV] The US-led coalition allegedly battling terrorism in Syria has killed at least 14 civilians in Arclight airstrikes on Raqqah.

According to Syria's official news agency, SANA, US warplanes carried out raids on the city’s al-Naim region on Monday, claiming that they were targeting members of the ISIS terrorist group.

The raids also resulted in severe damage to civilians and the city’s infrastructure.

Last month, Amnesia Amnesty International released a report confirming that the US operations in Raqqah were greatly endangering civilians.

Earlier in the month, the US-led coalition acknowledged that it had killed almost 700 civilians since it commenced its aerial bombardment campaign three years ago.

Hundreds rally in Chicano Park to ‘defend' murals
[Fox5SanDiego] Hundreds of people showed up in Chicano Park Sunday for what was planned to be a peaceful gathering of solidarity to defend Chicano Park against what they say is expressions of hatred to immigrants and minorities in San Diego.

However, an hour into the rally emotions quickly escalated when an expected group of citizens showed up for what they call a "Patriot Picnic."

"Patriot Fire" conservative blogger Roger Ogden, who told FOX 5 he was not affiliated with any extremist groups, and a few other people planned to have lunch at 1 p.m. while discussing and touring the murals at Chicano Park.

Ogden said what prompted the meeting was the removal of the confederate plaque of Jefferson Davis from Horton Plaza park last month. He said if the plaque had to go then the murals at Chicano Park should go, too.

"We weren’t going down to destroy the murals or anything. We were just going down to have a look in a public park," said Ogden. "They should move it somewhere else on private property or whatever but the city should not fund subversive revolutionary anti-American art on that public land."

Many people, including faith-based groups, learned of Ogden's plan to be at the park and went to the park to "defend" it.

"This is holy grounds. We don’t want any violence. For many of us these murals have deep spiritual significance," said Father John Author with Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church.

"There was some social media expressions attempting to gather some extremist, white supremacists to come to the park to scope it out - almost like a reconnaissance mission for future action," said Mario Chacon with the Chicano Park Steering Committee.

Park committee organizers said Sunday's event was an example of hatred and it will not be tolerated.

"For him to say he was here to have pizza at Chicano Park is very hard to believe," said Chacon.

San Diego police officers divided the two groups in order to keep violence from breaking out. San Diego police helped facilitate the safe removal of Ogden and his group once they decided to leave.

"I kind of expected something like this," said Odgen as he was leaving the park.

San Diego Police Chief Shelly Zimmerman also showed up at the rally and was present when the rally escalated.

"We were very aware of what was going to happen here at the park so we had resources in place as you saw. A lot of staffing [was] in place in case things did turn," said Zimmerman.

Chicano Park is park located beneath the San Diego-Coronado Bridge in Barrio Logan, a predominantly Mexican American and Mexican-immigrant community.
Notice the quote from Shelly Zimmerman? Quite a difference between her and the local pols in Virginia.

Also, there are indeed depictions among the Chicano Park murals that glorify such offensive characters as Che Guevara and Fidel Castro...indisputably racists slogans as well. I'm not saying what to do here, just wondering, if you start with Robert E. Lee then where does it stop?

IDF Holds Largest Exercise In 20 Years To Prepare For Imminent Hezbollah Threat
[Jpost] The IDF is set to launch a large-scale exercise in preparation for a potential faceoff with the Shi'ite terror group, that continues to pose an imminent danger to the country's security.

The IDF is set to launch a large-scale exercise in preparation for a potential faceoff with the Shi'ite terror group, that continues to pose an imminent danger to the country's security.

Amid rising tensions on Israel’s northern border, the IDF will be launching Monday evening its largest drill in close to 20 years, with tens of thousands of soldiers from all branches of the army simulating a war with Hezbollah.

The drill is unique and unprecedented in scope, the army has affirmed, and it will enable forces to maintain a high level of readiness in an ever-changing region.

According to military assessments, while it is unlikely that Hezbollah attack Israel in the near future, the northern border remains the most explosive and both sides have warned that the next conflict between the two would be devastating.

The IDF is preparing itself for a different kind of war on the northern front. According to the military, while the drill itself is set to focus only on the border with Leb, a potential future altercation would not be contained only in the part of the border and would spread to the entirety of the northern border.

While the primary threat posed by Hezbollah remains its missile arsenal, the IDF believes that the next war will see the terror group trying to bring the fight into the home front by infiltrating into Israeli communities to inflict significant civilian and military casualties.

The two-week long drill will focus on countering the increased capabilities of Hezbollah and is expected to include simulations of evacuating communities which sit on the border with Leb.

During the drill, soldiers will play the role of civilians being evacuated, but with close to 1 million Israelis living in Israel’s north, an estimated quarter million would be evacuated in case a war breaks out with the Shiite Lebanese terror group.

Named after Meir Dagan, the former head of the Mossad, the exercise will see thousands of reservists and all the different branches of the IDF- Air Force, Navy, Ground Forces Intelligence, Cyber- drilling their ability to work side by side in case such a war should break out.

In an attempt to secure the exercise but also simulate what it would be like in case of a real war, no soldiers will be allowed to bring in their phones or any other digital devices.

Hezbollah has rebuilt its arsenal since the last war fought between the group and Israel back in 2006, with at least 100,000 short-range rockets and several thousand more missiles that can reach central Israel. According to some Israeli analysts, the next war with Hezbollah might see 1,500-2,000 rockets shot into Israel per day, compared to the 150-180 per day during the Second Leb war 10 years ago in which 121 soldiers and 44 non-combatants were killed and over 2,000 injured.

In addition to having rebuilt their arsenal, Hezbollah has changed from a terror group fighting guerilla style targets to an army with battalions, brigades and over 40,000 fighters who have gained immeasurable battlefield experience from fighting in Syria on the side of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
The Scourge of Hama...
But while the threat still looms large, Israel has made it clear that it will continue to work to prevent the group from acquiring advanced weaponry, striking weapons convoys in Syria destined for the group at least 100 times in the past five years.

Arabia
Soddy warbirds hit rebel positions in Hajjah
Aden- Saudi-led Arab Coalition air forces, backing the official government in Yemen, pounded a military target in Hajjah governorate, said well-informed sources within the coalition.

More importantly, the target destroyed was a telecommunications base used by Houthi militiamen, and was taken out two days after coalition forces destroyed a ballistic missile launchpad, delivering a severe blow to militia ranks.

Sources also pointed out that the communications center was active at the time of targeting.

“The center is a legitimate military target wedged in rural area in-between mountains, isolated on high altitude. Available intelligence showed that this center was being utilized by Houthi armed militias to direct combatants,” sources added.

Coalition aircraft destroyed two days ago a platform to launch ballistic missiles, in the province of Hajjah northwest of Yemen.

Sources pointed out that coalition forces launched several raids on putschist targets in that region, which compromised their military might and managed to exact losses among militia personnel.

The ballistic missile launchpad was destroyed shortly after it had launched a projectile pointed towards Saudi borders. Despite camouflage, the missile launchpad was successfully taken out.

The Yemeni army earlier announced the death of a high-ranking Houthi commander named Ali Abdul-Malik Sharafuddin, who was killed in a coalition airstrike alongside a number of his companions in Midi, another Hajjah governorate city.

On the other hand, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement announced being deeply saddened by the death of Dr. Abdulah Alkhamesi, founder of the Yemen Red Crescent Society in 1973 and its leader for nearly three decades.

Alkhamesi was known within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement as a man with a deep belief in humanity, who worked tirelessly in the service of his fellow human beings.

The death of Alkhamesi was hastened by a lack of essential medical supplies, yet another indication of the collapsing health system in Yemen—a direct consequence of the conflict and the debilitating restrictions on imports such as much-needed drugs and medical supplies.

The situation in Yemen is dire, with less than half of the hospitals and clinics still open. Medical staff and Yemen Red Crescent staff and volunteers continue to carry out their tasks as best they can despite acute shortages.

The Yemen Red Crescent Society (YRCS), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) continue to uphold the same humanitarian commitment that guided Alkhamesi throughout his life—to help and support the people living in Yemen, said the organization in a statement published to their official website.

Libyan forces attack Islamic State near former stronghold
[REUTERS] East Libyan forces said they had launched air strikes on Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
fighters after the murderous Moslems made incursions south and east of their former coastal stronghold of Sirte.

The jihadist group has grown bolder in recent weeks, setting up temporary checkpoints, attacking local forces, and taking over a village mosque to lead prayers during the Moslem holiday of Eid al-Adha, Libyan officials say.

The increased activity has raised concern that Islamic State could regroup around Sirte, from where it was driven out in December by local forces and a U.S. air campaign. Most murderous Moslems were killed in the nearly seven-month battle, but an unknown number fled into the desert to the south and west.

Sirte lies at the center of Libya’s Mediterranean coastline, on the dividing line between regions controlled by rival Libyan factions.

Forces loyal to eastern-based commander Khalifa Haftar
... served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
said they had carried out air strikes on Sunday against murderous Moslems in the area of Ain Taqrift, between Sirte and the town of Zillah, 306 km (190 miles) to the south east. The area is close to oil fields previously damaged by Islamic State attacks.

Fears of humanitarian crisis in Bangladesh as 87,000 refugees arrive from Myanmar: UN
[AlAhram] A total of 87,000 mostly Rohingya refugees have arrived in Bangladesh since violence erupted in neighbouring Myanmar on August 25, the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
said Monday, amid growing international criticism of Aung San Suu Kyi.

Around 20,000 more were massed on the border waiting to enter, the UN said in a report.

Dhaka stepped up border controls after the latest round of violence, but one Bangladeshi border guard told AFP the sheer number of people desperate to enter the country from Myanmar's western state of Rakhine had made it impossible to keep them out.

"It is bigger than the last time," said the guard, who asked not to be named, referring to the influx of refugees that followed an outbreak of violence last October.

"If it continues then we will face serious problems. But it's impossible to stop the flow: these people are everywhere."

Many of the new arrivals lacked shelter from the heavy monsoon rains, and an AFP news hound said hundreds of new makeshift shelters had sprung up on the outskirts of the existing camps in recent days.

Rakhine has been a crucible of religious violence since 2012, when riots erupted. Scores of Rohingya were killed and tens of thousands of people -- most of them from the Moslem minority -- were forced into displacement camps.

But the current round of fighting, which broke out when Rohingya murderous Moslems ambushed security installations, is the worst yet.

Myanmar's army has said nearly 400 people have died in the fighting that ensued, including 370 Rohingya Death Eaters.

On Monday the office of Myanmar's de facto leader Suu Kyi said the military had fought 90 separate festivities with Rohingya murderous Moslems since the ambushes.

In a statement it said more than 2,600 homes had been destroyed in Rohingya villages and 138 houses had been destroyed in non-Moslem villages -- blaming the fires and other damage entirely on the Death Eaters.

Suu Kyi is under increasing fire over her perceived unwillingness to speak out against the treatment of the Rohingya, who are viewed as interlopers in Myanmar.

The Nobel peace laureate, a former political prisoner of Myanmar's junta, has made no public comment since the latest fighting broke out.

The crisis threatens Myanmar's diplomatic relations, particularly with Moslem-majority countries in Southeast Asia where there is profound public anger at the treatment of the Rohingya.

Indonesia's foreign minister Retno Marsudi met Suu Kyi as well as Myanmar's army chief General Min Aung Hlaing in Naypyidaw
...generally translated as royal capital, seat of the king or abode of kings because the general in charge had a massive ego. It was founded in 2002 because Rangoon was worn out. Traditionally, Naypyidaw was used as a suffix to the names of royal capitals, such as Mandalay, which was called Yadanabon Naypyidaw in Burmese...
on Monday to press for greater efforts to alleviate the crisis.

Bangladesh, already home to an estimated 400,000 Rohingya before the latest influx, has also come in for international criticism for pushing people back to Myanmar.

Rights groups say this is a contravention of its international obligations.

On Monday officials on the small island of St Martin's nine kilometres (around six miles) off Bangladesh's coast said authorities had forced 2,011 Rohingya seeking refuge there to leave.

Scores of people have drowned while attempting to flee the violence, which also killed or displaced ethnic Rakhine Buddhists and other tribal groups allegedly targeted by Rohingya Death Eaters.

The refugees say that many young Rohingya men have stayed behind to fight.

Four arrested over gang rapes in Italian seaside town
[TheLocal.it] Italian police tossed in the slammer
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
a man on Sunday suspected of involvement in two rapes last week.

The man, a 20-year-old, was the last of the gang of four to be arrested and the only adult among the suspects.

"The last of the suspected Rimini rapists has been located and arrested," said police in a statement on Monday morning. "The man was captured by coppers on a train to Milan from Pesaro."

Rimini police chief Maurizio Improta said the arrest was "doubly satisfying" because the two officers who handcuffed the suspect were female. Improta called this "a symbolic gesture which gave justice to the victims of the violence".

The below video was shared by police and shows officers escorting the suspect to a police car.

Pesaro is located 40km southeast of Rimini, a popular seaside resort on the Adriatic Coast where the attack took place.

The men allegedly raped a Polish tourist and badly beat up her husband on a Rimini beach, and later raped a transgender woman in a park.

Italia's interior minister Marco Minniti congratulated police for apprehending the suspects so quickly.

Two other members of the gang, who are brothers aged 15 and 17, handed themselves into police in connection with the rapes on Saturday. Their father told the local paper Il Resto del Carlino he had recognized his sons in CCTV images shared by police, and told them to report themselves.

Shortly afterwards, a third suspect aged 16 was detained in a nearby town.

The three minors were previously known to police, but due to their age they are being held in a juvenile detention centre and their names have not been released.

The 20-year-old arrested on Sunday has been identified as a Congolese national who arrived in Italia as an asylum seeker in 2015. Following the rejection of his request for asylum, he was granted permission to stay in Italia until 2018 on humanitarian grounds, according to Italian media reports.
Breitbart adds:
Four suspects with roots in the Congo, Nigeria, and Morocco have been nabbed
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
following the assault, robbery, and gang rape of a Polish couple and a Peruvian transsexual in Rimini, Italia.

The two Moroccans handed themselves in after being identified by family members, The Times reports.

A man from Nigeria ‐ who claims to be 16-years-old ‐ was captured shortly afterwards, whilst a 20-year-old from the Congo was intercepted whilst attempting to escape to La Belle France by train.

The last of these ‐ Guerlin Butungu ‐ is the only one to have been named by the authorities. He is an asylum seeker whose claim was rejected, "but granted temporary permission to stay in Italia until 2018 on humanitarian grounds" regardless, according to the News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

The two Moroccans, said to be aged 15 and 17 and born in Italia, were ordered to turn themselves in by their father, a welder named as Mohammed by the Italian press.

"I told them to go straight to the police. I don’t want my sons doing this shit. It can happen that someone steals a mobile phone, but not that he rapes a woman. If they did something like that, they must pay.

"If someone rapes one of my women, my wife or my mother or my daughter, I will kill them."

India-Pakistan
Extremists on campuses
[DAWN] A SHOCKING attack that missed its target but claimed the lives of at least two others on Eid day in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
has revealed a dangerous and apparently growing dimension of militancy in the country. Sindh MPA Khawaja Izharul Hassan, a big shot of a faction of the MQM, survived the audacious attempt on his life on Saturday, but the alleged criminal mastermind escaped the scene of the attack. Believed to have been injured in the attack, the bully boy belonging to a new outfit, Ansarul Sharia Pakistain, was quickly identified by the Sindh police: Abdul Karim Sarosh Siddiqui, a former student of the University of Karachi. The involvement in militancy of young individuals from the mainstream-education system is not a new phenomenon. Saad Aziz of the Safoora Goth carnage was a student of the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, while Noreen Leghari, an MBBS student of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Hyderabad, has been implicated in ties with the bully boy Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group.

What is clear is that the higher education system in the country remains thoroughly ill equipped to either curb extremism among students or identify individuals before they are able to go on to commit violent crimes. In the wake of the latest Karachi attack, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Shah has claimed that a security audit and verification system will be introduced in the province to try and identify students with bully boy and terrorist leanings. That may be a welcome move, but it will need to be carefully implemented. The blunt instrument of the state should not be used against young people who may simply have an educational interest in different ideologies or want to practise a different kind of politics to what the state condones. The focus must be narrow and precise: religiously inspired faceless myrmidons who are on the path of violence against state and society, be they so-called lone wolves or part of an established network of militancy.

The measures that need to be taken cannot be limited to the campus either. The physical and online networks of jihad must be monitored more closely. After more than a decade of fighting militancy, why is it still relatively easy for individuals seeking to join bully boy groups to do so? Surely, as the militancy evolves, the state’s response in fighting it must evolve too. Finally, there is the original reality ie madressah networks through which a great deal of recruitment and facilitation of militancy occurs. The emergence of a new challenge does not mean long-standing threats can be ignored. More effort is needed on all fronts.

China-Japan-Koreas
If North Korea Has Nuclear ICBM, China WILL Invade by 9/11
[TruNews] According to a DIA official assigned specifically to monitor North Korea, the secret "working" agreement was negotiated as an unofficial understanding between the two superpowers, and could result in a Chinese invasion of the Korean Peninsula between now and September 11th.

The source, who spoke to TruNews Correspondent Edward Szall through a proxy on Sunday night, and must remain unnamed due to his official capacity as a veteran member of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), said both the U.S. and China are actively investigating the claims made by North Korea on Sunday, that they have successfully tested a miniaturized nuclear device and possess the technology to effectively mount it on a ballistic missile.

The source noted that if the Chinese are convinced the warhead North Korean state media showed Kim Jong-un inspecting Sunday at the "Nuclear Weapons Institute" is indeed a miniaturized homemade hydrogen bomb, they will launch an invasion of North Korea and annex it within the next week.

"If China rolls their army into North Korea, and annexes the country in the next week, we know he [Kim Jong-un] had miniaturized nukes," the DIA source said.

Regarding the question of why no Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system has been used thus far to shoot down any North Korea’s missiles, the DIA official said it is out of fear that they will fail to effectively accomplish their mission.

A failure of the THAAD system would be devastating for the U.S., and the equipments U.S.-based manufacturer, Lockheed Martin, as well as NATO itself, who uses the system as a way to convince other countries to buy U.S. weaponry and remain in their anti-Russia defense alliance.

A THAAD system failure would also benefit the Russians, who offer their S-300/S-400/S-500 air defense system as an alternative to prospective nations in the market for effective missile deterrence. The Russians already have an advantage based on the reports in April that S-300 & S-400 batteries based in Syria successfully brought down up to half of the incoming 60 Tomahawk missiles launched by the Trump administration against a Syrian airfield.

Additionally, Russia has a motivation to convince nations to adopt their opposing system because once a nation accepts it, the diplomatic door is opened for further non-NATO weapon purchases and an expansion of military cooperation, NATO member Turkey being a recent example.
I would have stopped reading at 'Dennis Rodman as an effective intelligence source,' but sadly, I had already reached the end of the article.

#2  I'm sorry but I don't believe a word of the idea of China invading North Korea. I think you can wipe your ass on your wishful thinking. Its demeaning to even hear it stated. The Clintons sold us out years ago with their "deals" with the Norks. And the US may be prudent but the fact is the US is weak and can't get it up and the American people are weak and won't back a war for ANY reason. The American people are punks ,obese, on drugs and skate boarding.
America doesn't have the balls to fight a war, plus there isn't enough human grit to last ten minutes with the quality of youth and their fat moms and dads chugging beer and eating cheats to back out and bugger off.

The Chinese are going to rescue us from Kim ? Bend over and let the wind give your breezy balls a thrill.

And the reason the US hasn't shot down the Nork missiles is we don't have the technical reach or the capability . And the reason we have to tolerate Kim is the simple fact that the old saw about winning a land war in Asia...is true. We won't attack NKorea because we can't win.
And the Chinese are NOT going ro lift a finger...that are going to watch us sweat and grin.

#5  There are so many things wrong with this article.

1) You should always be leery of any sight that calls itself TruNews, true news, or anything like that.
2) Just because someone is from the CIA, DIA, or NSA doesn't mean that person is sane, or even close to it.
3)Are we sure they have an H-bomb? The Nokors have said they do, but as this graph shows, the explosion is well within fission capabilities.
4)Fitting any kind of bomb onto a missle is much more difficult than fitting it onto an airplane or having a static test.
5)The "best case" wargame scenarios still leave SKOR with 80,000 civilian dead and the northern 10% of S Korea devastated. The best case assumes NOKOR doesn't use nuclear weapons.
6)The Chinese are not going to invade North Korea. That would be doing our dirty work and them paying the cost. They want us to do their dirty work and us pay the cost.
7)Be careful what you wish for. Any Chinese invasion will be accompanied by an extension of a Chinese nuclear umbrella over N Korea.

Britain
Islamic State tried to recruit undercover BBC reporter — report
[IsraelTimes] British broadcaster says jihadist sought to enlist journalist to carry out terror attack similar to June assault that later took place at London Bridge

The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group reportedly attempted to recruit an undercover BBC journalist to carry out a terror attack at London Bridge similar to a recent combined car-ramming and stabbing attack claimed by the terror group at the historic site.

In a BBC report to be aired Monday evening, a journalist for the British broadcaster described his experience communicating with an IS operative on an encrypted messaging service during a period of several weeks in July 2016, during which the terrorist implored him to carry out an attack at London Bridge.

"He was trying to persuade me into carrying out an attack and he also gave me the option of either doing it alone or along with a team," said the journalist, whose identity was not disclosed.

The journalist also said the same IS recruiter told him in December 2016 to watch tutorials on the dark web produced by the terror group.

"One of them showed how to use a vehicle to kill people," the news hound said. "The other showed how to use knives and homemade bombs for maximum impact."

"Finally there was a description of how to create a fake boom jacket and how it can be used to stop the police from attacking you if you are standing next to civilians," he added.

The report included one of the exchanges between the journalist and the IS member.

"I am nervous," the message says. "No need. Keep asking Allah for help," the IS operative responds.

The report did not provide any context for the exchange.

The BBC said British authorities knew of the broadcaster’s communication with the terror group.

The attack plan laid out by the IS member was nearly identical to the June 2017 terror attack claimed by the group at London Bridge.

During the attack, Khuram Butt, Rachid Redouane and Youssef Zaghba mowed into pedestrians on London Bridge and then embarked on a stabbing spree at an adjacent nightlife area.

Eight people were killed in the attack, while the attackers ‐ who also wore fake boom jackets during the assault ‐ were rubbed out by police.

The London attack was the third this year that IS has claimed in Britannia, after a bombing in Manchester in late May and a similar attack in the heart of London in March.

Key Taliban Commander Killed in Parwan Drone Strike
[Tolo News] A key Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
commander'>Taliban Überstürmbannführer was killed in a foreign troops dronezap in northern Parwan province on Saturday night, local officials said.

The strike took place in Ezat Khil area of Jabal Saraj district of the province after Afghan cops launched a ground operation and had foreign troops air support, Mohammad Masoum Farzayee, police chief of Jabal Saraj said.

"Troops came from Kabul and they launched a military operation in Ezat Khil and the foreign troops also provided support from the air in which Mullah Agha Gul, a Taliban Überstürmbannführer and one of his fighters, were killed," Farzayee said.

Mohammad Asim Asim, the provincial governor rejected the reports of a dronezap in the area but said that ground forces launched the operation against a group of Taliban snuffies in which "two of the snuffies were killed so far."

Three security forces were also maimed in the operation, Asim said.

However,

NH Dem Chair: Rural, Disaffected Voters Are ‘White Supremacists’
[DAILYCALLER] New Hampshire’s Democratic Party chair referred to rural, disaffected voters as "white supremacists" and "extremists" on Sunday.

WMUR9 told its viewers that Look Ahead America, an organization that reaches out to "disaffected, patriotic Americans" may be headed to New Hampshire next.

"New Hampshire’s going to be, probably, the state we advance to next," Matt Braynard, the executive director said. "We’ve identified maybe 15,000 inactive voters who we would consider disaffected, patriotic Americans. And potentially 100,000 or more unregistered adults we’re going to reach out to."

"We’re applying to identify patriotic Americans who’ve become disaffected and cynical, so we can engage them on issues relevant to them, get them registered, get them educated and turn them out to vote," Braynard explained.

New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley doesn’t seem thrilled with the development, however, claiming that the disaffected voters Look Ahead will be working with are "extremists" and "white supremacists."

"The organizing and activating of these Death Eaters, these white supremacists, really could have a detrimental effect on the entire culture of New Hampshire," Buckley said.

Buckley doubled down on calling these Americans "white supremacists" in a tweet on Sunday night, slamming the Koch Brothers and former Governor John Sununu for bringing Look Ahead to New Hampshire.
Yes, those pushed into sweltering, dependent urban America can be always counted upon. The rest are racists.

#5  What happened to the idea that they were bitterly clinging to their guns and bibles? I wish they'd pick one.

#6  Extremist white supremacists clinging to their guns and Bibles.

Non- Clinton material obviously and not Democratic Party victimized focus group or PC prone ? Sanders rejectors ?
And they F@$%* their dog.

Some of them may be Police Officers and even Vets. They should all be arrested and put in the Reform through Labor Camps. New Hampshire needs to be a haven for queers, Democrats and the Transgendered. Oh, and baritone women in large hats with a "Cause" to pursue.

#8  Says the guy who voted in the last three elections for a presidential candidate who called gun owners, Christians, and believers in limited government, intact national borders, and free enterprise untermensch.

Get back to me when you work out that hypocrisy problem, boy.

#10  Why does this scene come to mind?

Khan: [quoting from Melville's Moby Dick] To the last, I will grapple with thee... from Hell's heart, I stab at thee! For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee!

-Lurid Crime Tales-
After Bay Area violence, California debates classifying 'antifa' as a street gang
[LATIMES]
The FBI and NSA sorry, Homeland Security have already declared them a terror group; while it doesn't matter if California puts them in a lesser category of evildoers, it would be a signal to certain univsities and communites to align themselves with historical inevitability.

#1  Never happen. AntiFa is too tied to CA Democrats in power. They'll blather on about them, but that'll go away after elections.

#2  You believe in historical inevitability, TW?

#5  You can be sure the medals are currently in the design phase.

#6  Maybe they'll do what Sacramento plans on doing.

#7  Good catch Mullah. Sort of goes along with my distinctive Antifa youth knife idea.

#8  You believe in historical inevitability, TW?

No, Pappy, I don't, though I believe that President Trump will drive Antifa and its fellow enforcers out of the public arena during this term; I also see a strong possibility he'll be elected to a second term.

On the other hand, they have been yelling about being on the right side of history for eight years, only to be presented with pretty strong evidence that this science, too, is not settled. A little rubbing of noses in it can be a useful lesson..
