Trump too tough on Iran, North Korea, Clinton says
[FoxNews] With his tough talk and hardline stances on Iran and North Korea, President Donald Trump is damaging America's credibility abroad – and could provoke a nuclear-arms race in East Asia, Hillary Clinton says.

Trump's recent threat to decertify the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, "makes us look foolish and small and plays right into Iranian hands," Clinton said last week.

"That is bad not just on the merits for this particular situation, but it sends a message across the globe that America's word is not good," said Clinton, who spoke in advance of Trump's announcement Friday that he wants Congress and the other nations that negotiated the deal to toughen the requirements for Iran.

"This particular president is, I think, upending the kind of trust and credibility of the United States' position and negotiation that is imperative to maintain."

For his part, Trump says that Clinton, as secretary of state under former President Barack Obama, helped negotiate a "terrible" deal with Iran.

Getting tough on Iran is the right approach, the president said.

"We will not continue down a path whose predictable conclusion is more violence, more terror and the very real threat of Iran's nuclear breakout," Trump said Friday, according to the Washington Times. "Iran is not living up to the spirit of the deal."

Clinton also denounced Trump's bellicose language toward North Korea, saying his verbal aggression has rattled U.S. allies.

"We will now have an arms race ‐ a nuclear arms race in East Asia," Clinton predicted. "We will have the Japanese, who understandably are worried with missiles flying over them as the North Koreans have done, that they can't count on America."

Clinton stressed that a diplomatic solution was preferred, and suggested the inflammatory rhetoric played into Kim Jung Un's hands. She bemoaned Trump's public undercutting of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson when he tweeted "Save your energy, Rex" after the nation's top diplomat had suggested negotiations.

"Diplomacy, preventing war, creating some deterrents is slow, hard-going, difficult work," said Clinton, who declined to answer when asked whether Tillerson should resign. "And you can't have impulsive people or ideological people who basically say, 'Well, we're done with you.'"

Today, I announced our strategy to confront the Iranian regime's hostile actions and to ensure that they never acquire a nuclear weapon. pic.twitter.com/N4ISdjuEdC
‐ Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 13, 2017

Trump on Sept. 21 signed an executive order calling for a new round of economic sanctions against North Korea over its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

The president said the actions were aimed at "a complete denuclearization of North Korea," the Washington Times reported.

"North Korea's nuclear weapons and missile development is a grave threat to peace and security in our world," Trump said. "It is unacceptable that others financially support this criminal rogue regime."

Clinton, who recently released a book that recounts her election defeat to Trump, has been an aggressive critic of the president.

In an interview with Britain's BBC on Friday, Clinton called Trump a "sexual assaulter."

Clinton made the comments when asked about the allegations of sexual assault made against Democratic mega-donor and Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

"This kind of behavior cannot be tolerated anywhere, whether it's in entertainment, politics," Clinton said. "After all, we have someone admitting to being a sexual assaulter in the Oval Office."

In the same interview, Clinton referred to the sexual transgressions of her husband – former President Bill Clinton – as being "clearly in the past," Fox News reported.

Clinton's comments on Iran and North Korea were scheduled to air Sunday on CNN. The White House did not immediately return a request to respond to her remarks.

Left discovers how to cancel Civil War reenactments
[Breitbart] The FBI is investigating the "suspicious package" and bomb threats that caused an evacuation at one of Virginia’s oldest, largest, and longest-running Civil War reenactments, Saturday.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office shut the event down after a visitor found a "suspicious package" near the Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park around 4 p.m. Saturday. Due to its proximity to the Civil War reenactment, the sheriff’s office evacuated the event and shut down the festivities, a local NBC affiliate reported.

Authorities soon rendered the device safe, and no one was reported harmed. Participants were allowed back after police scanned the area for additional threats.

The sponsors of the event, the Cedar Creek Battlefield Association, had acknowledged that threats were made before the event began and had already arranged for increased security. The sponsors posted a notice to that effect on the event website several days ago.

"We would like to make everyone aware that the Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation has received a letter threatening bodily harm to attendants of this event," the event website read. "With this in mind security has been increased, and we ask that everyone work with us for a safe and enjoyable event. Please pardon the inconvenience as you may experience increased security measures when enjoying the event."

After the incident with the device, Sunday’s activities were canceled.

Russia's Defense Minister to begin first official visit to Israel
Sergei Shoigu will land in Israel on Monday for meetings with Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his first visit to the Jewish state since becoming Russia’s defense minister in 2012.

Just days before Liberman flies to Washington to meet Defense Secretary James Mattis for talks on Iran and other regional issues, the meetings with Shoigu are expected to cover the cooperation between Russia and Israel and continued military coordination over Syria, as well as the Iranian entrenchment in the war-torn country and transfer of advanced weapons to Hezbollah by Tehran through Damascus.

Moscow intervened in the Syrian conflict in September 2015, and officials from Israel and Russia meet regularly to discuss the deconfliction mechanism implemented over Syria to avoid accidental clashes.

Russia, which views Iran as a key player in resolving the crisis in Syria, has repeatedly emphasized the importance of the role the Islamic Republic plays in the war-torn country.

As the war in Syria seems to be winding down in President Bashar Assad’s favor due to Moscow’s intervention, Israel fears that Iran will help Hezbollah produce accurate precision-guided missiles and help Hezbollah and other Shi’ite militias to strengthen their foothold in the Golan Heights.

Netanyahu has publicly criticized a US-Russian cease-fire deal in Syria, saying it does not include any provisions to stop Iranian expansion in the area. Russia is reported to have rejected a request from Jerusalem for a 60-kilometer buffer zone between the Golan Heights and any Iranian-backed militias in Syria, agreeing only to make sure that no Shi’ite fighter comes within five kilometers of Israel.

Following Shoigu’s visit, Liberman will leave Wednesday night for a four-day trip to the United States ‐ his fifth meeting with Mattis since the general assumed his role as defense secretary in the Trump administration. During their last meeting, the two discussed issues such as the war in Syria and the threats posed by Iran.

Newt: 'The alligators are really unhappy that Trump is draining the swamp.'
[The Hill] Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says the Washington, D.C., establishment is enraged with President Trump because he is following through on his promise to "drain the swamp."

"Donald Trump really is draining the swamp, and the alligators are really unhappy," Gingrich told John Catsimatidis on AM970's "The Answer." "This guy is actually doing what he said he would do: We're getting conservative judges nominated. We are getting regulations rolled back."

"We're getting a much more aggressive pro-American trade policy and pro-American foreign policy," Gingrich said. "The other side sees this as the end of their way of life."

The former House leader pointed to the release of American hostages held by the Taliban by Pakistani troops this week as a concrete result of Trump's foreign policy shift.

"The Pakistanis understand how much tougher and how much more aggressive the Trump Administration is than the Obama Administration," Gingrich said. "And I think they're trying to find some way to appease us because they know that we are very angry at them."

"Remember, they had bin Laden in their country for a decade," he added. "As a result, they’re scrambling to find a way to appease us."

Remember all those people at the State Department who resigned, Glolurong Bumble6930, not to mention complaints about how many positions remain unfilled? I have to imagine that State is not the only department where that happened -- remember, the new management had committed to reorganizing to better meet new objectives once the current organization and current objectives had been understood. It is my understanding they'd targetted to have achieved understanding about now.

Europe
Austrian conservative set to become Europe's youngest leader
[BBC] Austria's conservative People's Party (ÖVP), led by 31-year-old Sebastian Kurz, is set to win the country's general election, projections suggest.

The victory would make Mr Kurz Europe's youngest leader.

The People's Party was set to win 30.2%, followed by the far-right Freedom Party (FPÖ) with 26.8% and the Social Democrats with 26.3%.

Short of a majority, Mr Kurz's party could seek an alliance with the FPÖ, which campaigned against immigration.

Immigration has been a dominant issue in the run-up to the vote, and the FPÖ is thought to have its best chance in years of returning to government.

Update at 12:30 p.m. EDT: The Local - Austria is liveblogging the election here. They note official results will not be announced until October 31st.

China-Japan-Koreas
The Book General Mattis Reads to Be Prepared for War With North Korea
[Politico] Last Monday, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, a retired Marine Corps general with a legendary appetite for military history, ticked off a list of book recommendations to a crowd of U.S. Army leaders and supporters‐titles that might help them understand command, strategy and the ways war is evolving. But he kept coming back to one book in particular: T. R. Fehrenbach’s This Kind of War, a 54-year-old history of the Korean War that’s much better known in military than civilian quarters.

Fehrenbach, Mattis explained during his address to the Association of the United States Army’s Exposition on Building Readiness, reminds us of two essential truths about war: its "primitive, atavistic, and unrelenting nature" and the "absolutely fundamental" importance of boots on the ground, even in an age of drone attacks and cyberwarfare. "You may fly over a nation forever, you may bomb it, atomize it, pulverize it and wipe it clean of life. But if you desire to defend it, if you desire to protect it, if you desire to keep it for civilization, you must do this on the ground the way the Roman legions did: by putting your young men in the mud," Mattis said, quoting Fehrenbach. "I would only modify it today by saying, ’by putting your young men and women in the mud.’"

These citations were preludes to Mattis’s final punch. The last question he took from the audience finally addressed the concern on everyone’s mind: As Trump and Kim Jong Un exchange dire nuclear threats, "what can the U.S. military do to lessen the likelihood of conflict on the Korean Peninsula?"

"There’s a reason I recommended T.R. Fehrenbach’s book," Mattis replied, "that we all pull it out and read it one more time."

Epidemic of SA Plaasmoorde (Farm Murders) Continues as Gunmen Shoot Elderly Victim
[Breitbart] Another South African farmer has been reported killed after three gunmen attacked his homestead ‐ part of a sustained campaign of violence across the country.

The alleged attack took place in Potchefstroom in the North West province, according to Times Live. The elderly victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the private ambulance company ER24.

OFM, a radio station based in Central South Africa, put the farmer’s age at 69, and quoted police spokeswoman Pelonomi Makau as saying the killers were driven off by his son following a high-stakes altercation:

"They saw three suspects hiding at a fence who shot at the farm owner," she said. "He died at the scene and the son managed to fight back the suspects. He managed to confiscate a firearm, knife and cell phone from the suspects. They then fled the scene."

The killing is just the latest in a series of murders which the government has been accused of encouraging, and which have made farming in South Africa the most deadly occupation in the world.

#1  Reporting from the UN, various 'rights' and anti-genocide groups, advocates of so-called 'International Law" or the liberal media currently unavailable.

A majority of the media and gov't generally ignores urban crime in the U.S. as well. I would offer the continued carnage in Chicago and Houston as examples. The reporting of these genocidal events fails to further the liberal, socialist narrative.

News of these events is inconvenient but necessary for change and progress. Media suppression is essential.

Belgium Charges Man Over 2016 Airport Bombing
[Breitbart] Belgian authorities say they have charged a man with terror offenses linked to the deadly suicide kaboom on the Brussels airport in March 2016.

The Federal Prosecutor’s office said Wednesday that a Belgian national identified as 39-year-old Brahim T. was charged with "participation in the activities of a terrorist group, terrorist murder, attempted terrorist murder," either in a direct role or as an accomplice.

He is scheduled to appear in a Brussels court within five days.

Belgium has been on high alert since suicide kaboomers killed 32 people at the Brussels airport and a subway station on March 22 last year.

Afghanistan
U.S. Has Bombed More Afghan Jihadists in 2017 Than Any Year Since 2012
[Breitbart] U.S. President Donald Trump

’s administration has intensified the American air war against the resilient Taliban

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS/ISIS) branch in Afghanistan, dropping 3,328 bombs on the jihadists so far in 2017, more than during any other full year since 2012, military figures reveal.

According to recently released data from the U.S. Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT), which covers military activity in the Middle East and the Afghanistan region, the American military had dropped 3,328 munitions on Afghan bandidos bandidos myrmidons as of the end of September, exceeding the number of bombs launched during all of 2016 (1,337), 2015 (947), 2014 (2,365), and 2013 (2,758), respectively.

The U.S. Arclight airstrikes launched on Afghan targets so far this year more than tripled the bombs dropped during the same period (January through September) last year.

Airstrikes this year, if they continue at the same pace, could also very well surpass the record 4,084 weapons dropped in 2012.

In September alone, the Trump administration dropped more bombs than any other month since 2012.

While the Afghan Taliban and its allies remain the most prominent terrorist threat in Afghanistan, the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
reported that Islamic State branch in the country, known as the Khorasan province (ISIS-K), has expanded its reach to unprecedented levels in the last few months ‐ extending its presence from one to seven provinces and escalating its attacks.

Nevertheless, AFCENT notes that the Trump administration is determined to defeat the Taliban and ISIS-K, crediting the president’s new Afghan war strategy with the increase in Arclight airstrikes against the two groups.

"September marked a record high month for weapons employed in Afghanistan since 2012, with 751 munitions being delivered against Taliban and ISIS ‐ Khorasan targets; a 50 percent jump from August," notes the U.S. Air Force in a statement published with the new Arclight airstrike data, adding:

This increase can be attributed to the President’s strategy to more proactively target myrmidon groups that threaten the stability and security of the Afghan people. Additionally, the recent addition of six F-16s at Bagram Air Base, coupled with more B-52 missions dedicated to Afghanistan, offer the additional strike capacity needed to target these groups.

Last week, top Pentagon officials told politicians the Trump administration had lifted restrictions on the rules of engagement (ROE) for U.S. troops in Afghanistan, no longer requiring them to be in contact with bandidos bandidos myrmidons in Afghanistan before opening fire.

"So these kinds of restrictions that did not allow us to employ the air powerfully have been removed, yes," U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis told politicians.

"We are no longer bound by the need for proximity to our forces," Pentagon chief Mattis told the House Armed Services Committee in the afternoon. "It used to be we have to basically be in contact with that enemy."

Mattis noted that Gen. John Nicholson, the top commander of U.S. and NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
troops in Afghanistan has the authority to decide when to target the enemy.

Gen. Joseph Dunford, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who testified alongside Mattis, explained that there is no terrorist group in Afghanistan that the U.S. commander does not have the authority to pursue.

"Wherever we find them, anyone who is trying to throw the NATO plan off, trying to attack the Afghan government, then we can go after them," emphasized Mattis.

Under the previous administration, the top commander of U.S. and NATO forces in early 2012 told politicians that the former president had taken away his authority to offensively target the Taliban, only allowing American troops to shoot in self-defense.

In August, President Trump unveiled his South Asia strategy, which primarily focuses on defeating ISIS and pressuring the Taliban into a reconciliation agreement with the Kabul government.

Terror Networks
Report: U.S. Coalition Cuts Islamic State Revenues over 90 Percent
[Breitbart] The U.S. led coalition currently fighting Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) has slashed the organization’s revenues by over 90 percent over the past two years, according to statistics provided to USA Today.

The statistics reveal that oil production in the caliphate’s major strongholds of Iraq and Syria has dropped to a new low of under $4 million a month. ISIS was making $50 million a month two years ago after the group swept through regions seizing dozens of lucrative oil refineries, including the Bayji refinery in Iraq and the oil-rich Deir al-Zour region in eastern Syria.

Coalition forces began a campaign designed to deplete ISIS’s oil revenues back in 2015, known as Operation Tidal Wave II, and have since destroyed over 2,500 ISIS-owned tanker trucks, dozens of mobile refineries and other oil infrastructure operated by the group.

"The coalition has regularly conducted strikes against ISIS and their oil production capabilities to degrade their ability to generate revenue from oil resources and facilities," the coalition said in a statement.

Another faction battling to retake oil refineries is the Syrian Arab Army, which last month reclaimed significant territory, including an oil field, with the support of Russian forces.

The statistics are another sign that the coalition is winning the war against ISIS, given that oil revenues account for over half the organization’s total revenue, alongside looting campaigns on banks and extorting cash from civilians in occupied cities.

Meanwhile,
...back at the hoedown, the fiddler suddenly struck a sour note. The dancing stopped abruptly. Everyone looked at Bob...
a report in May also found that the U.S.-led coalition had increased the number of Arclight airstrikes against ISIS by 50 percent over the course of 2017, as it seeks to fully incapacitate the terrorist organization.

In May, Defense Secretary James Mattis credited Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
with the coalition’s success, citing factors such as giving greater responsibility to battlefield commanders and the loosening of Obama-era rules of engagement that some in the military claimed amounted to micromanaging military activity.

"He has delegated authority to the right level to aggressively and in a timely manner move against enemy vulnerabilities," Mattis said in May.

In July, Iraq and the U.S. coalition also celebrated the complete liberation of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
from the Islamic State following a violent months-long campaign, although much of the city now lies in ruins, thousands dead and maimed, while nearly a million people were forced from their homes.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Chicago named among safest cities in the world. Honest.
[NYPOST] Despite reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
’s alarming, if select, murder statistics and routine singling out by President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
for gun violence, this lakeside metropolis was just ranked one of the safest cities in the world.

The Economist Intelligence Unit, a London-based research firm affiliated with the Economist magazine, named Chicago to its 2017 Safe Cities Index, issued Thursday ‐ one of only three US cities to crack the top 20 ‐ largely based on advances in digital security.

The annual ranking assesses 60 global cities using four factors: personal safety, health security, digital security and the safety of infrastructure.

Chicago, at 19th-safest, narrowly trailed the other top-20 US representatives, the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
at 15th and Los Angles at 18th. Tokyo, Singapore and Osaka topped the overall list, an order that has remained unchanged since 2015. Buenos Aires was the only city in the so-called developing world in the top half of the index.

Chicago fared best in digital security, jumping 12 places in the rankings and following just Tokyo and Singapore. The report gave props to an initiative in cybersecurity training through local colleges and the Department of Defense that Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced in January.

Latin American cities performed poorly, with Buenos Aires 23rd and Rio de Janiero and São Paolo sharing 49th place. "Brazil is one of the top sites for cybercrime in the world," said Robert Muggah, co-founder of the Igarapé Institute, which participated in the report. "That has to do with the fact that internet banking came to Brazil quite early. So you have [a] sophisticated hacking community in Brazil."

Britain
Iran reportedly behind cyber attack on British lawmakers
[Ynet] Iran carried out a cyber attack on British politicians earlier this year, The Times newspaper reported on Saturday, citing an intelligence assessment of the incident.

The report came the day after Britannia joined other European countries in warning the United States against harming a nuclear deal with Iran.

Britannia was hit by a worldwide "sustained and determined" cyber attack in June, designed to identify weak email passwords, just over a month after a ransomware worm crippled parts of the country’s health service.

The Times said that the attack was Iran’s first significant cyber attack on a British target after the hack was initially blamed on Russia.

Britannia’s National Cyber Security Center was not immediately available for comment.
"I can say no more!"
and nor did the Iranian government.

While the motive for the attack has not yet been established, the hackers were not seeking simple financial profit, The Times said.

Jimmy Kimmel: Donald Trump Jr. an ‘idiot,’ ‘imbecile’ whose job is to tweet
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Late-night talk show host and frequent President Trump critic Jimmy Kimmel had a few choice words for the president’s oldest son Friday, calling Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
Jr. an "imbecile" who does little more than tweeting.

In an interview aired Friday on "Good Morning America," Mr. Kimmel addressed Mr. Trump Jr.’s recent attacks against him for not addressing the Harvey Weinstein scandal on his show sooner. The first son criticized Mr. Kimmel, who has spoken out on his show about controversial topics like gun control and health care, for not addressing the numerous sexual harassment allegations against the disgraced Hollywood mogul immediately after the news initially broke.

"He’s an idiot, let’s just start with that," Mr. Kimmel fired back during his interview. "This is an imbecile whose job seems to be tweeting as far as I can tell."

"Harvey Weinstein is ... not a friend of mine," the late-night host explained. "I’m not in the movie business. And I’ll add that story came out, like, I think moments before we went to tape on Thursday, and we didn’t have a show on Friday."

Mr. Kimmel also said he wouldn’t mind hosting the president on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" so he could take a shot at changing the president’s mind on a few things.

"Absolutely, I have a lot of questions for Donald Trump," Mr. Kimmel told ABC News’ Amy Robach after she asked if he’d host the president on his show.

"I would guess that he’s not planning to visit me anytime soon," Mr. Kimmel admitted.

"Maybe this is crazy, but I feel like I could turn him around on a couple of things," he said. "I think he needs to be surrounded by better people. ... I just think he’s changed positions so frequently."

"I want to know what happened to the Donald Trump ... who was a Democrat?" he added.

Afghanistan
Taliban captures key sector in Sar-e- Pul
Mirza Olang valley of Sar-e-Pul province has once again fallen to the Taliban, provincial council officials said on Saturday.

Mohammad Noor Rahmani, the head of the Sar-e-Pul provincial council, said that Taliban carried out an attack on Thursday night in the Sayyad district of the province and took control of the valley.

However, General Khalil Dastyar, police chief of Sar-e-Pul said the Afghan security forces that were in the district made a tactical withdrawal.

Dastyar also said the Afghan security forces intend to conduct an operation in the Mirza Olang valley.

This comes after Mirza Olang Valley fell to the Taliban and Daesh in August. Following the collapse, insurgents targeted civilians and killed around 50 villagers.

Taliban however rejected the claims.

Raqqa: Evacuation deal agreed
[ITV] Citizens and holy warrior fighters trapped inside Raqqa are to be given a safe passage out as troops prepare for the "final battle" to recapture the Syrian city, US-led opposition forces have said.

Syrian government forces and their allies say they are preparing to wrest back the former stronghold of so-called Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. in a major blow for the terror group.

They have been making steady advances into Raqqa in recent days. Officials believe that IS fighters still within the city are cut off from their leadership and probably only have small arms left.

The US coalition said that an agreement had been reached between local officials and rustics will allow out both civilians and local IS fighters but not foreign holy warriors.

Omar Alloush, an official from the Local Raqqa Council, confirmed the deal on Saturday saying local fighters have been included in the evacuation. He didn't immediately comment on the number of evacuees.

In a statement on Saturday, the coalition said it is not involved in the talks but "believes that it will save lives" and allow the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces and their partners to focus on defeating IS in Raqqa with less risk to civilians.

The deal reached on Thursday allows the SDF to screen and search all those leaving the area. The coalition said a convoy of vehicles is to leave Raqqa later on Saturday.

India’s role in Afghanistan not acceptable to Pakistan: Nafees Zakaria
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The foreign ministry of Pakistain once again reiterated Islamabad’s stance regarding the role of India in Afghanistan, calling it a controversial presence which is against the stability of the region.

Speaking to news hounds in Islamabad on Friday, the ministry of foreign affairs front man Nafees Zakaria claimed that India’s controversial role in Afghanistan is neither in the interest of regional stability nor is it acceptable to Pakistain.

He went on to claim that Indian role in Afghan’s conflict can endanger regional stability.

Zakaria further added that Pakistain takes this issue very seriously and has raised it on several international fora.

This comes as the Afghan officials have long been insisting that the Afghan soil will never used and no party will be allowed to use it against its neighbors.

Iraqi, Kurd forces in Kirkuk standoff as tensions rise
[Al Jazeera] Thousands of Iraqi soldiers and allied militia are locked in an armed standoff with Kurdish forces in the disputed oil province of Kirkuk amid a sharp row between Baghdad and the autonomous region of Kurdistan.

A senior Kurdish official on Saturday said Iraq's central government had given Peshmerga fighters a 2am on Sunday (23:00 GMT on Saturday) deadline to surrender key military positions seized during the fightback against ISIS over the past three years.

Al Jazeera could not independently verify the existence of such a deadline.

The reports of the deadline came as heavily armed Iraqi troops and members of the Popular Mobilisation Force (PMF) - paramilitary units largely made up of Iran-trained Shia militias - massed around Kirkuk,

5 Iraqi soldiers die in ISIS attack in Ninevah
(IraqiNews.com) Five of the Iraqi army personnel, including an officer, and thirteen others were wounded on Saturday, in clashes that broke out in Nineveh province, a military source said.

“Around 100 Islamic State armed militants launched attack on the main headquarter of security troops in Tal Safuk village, in Nineveh province, on borders with Syria. They were using different kinds of weapons,” Lt. Gen. Younes Shilah al-Noa’mani, in charge of the ground military unit in Iraqi army told Arabs Today.

“The confrontations between Iraqi troops and the attackers lasted for around an hour and half, leaving eleven militants killed and forcing the rest to run away toward the common desert between Iraq and Syria,” Noa’mani said. “Five army personnel were killed, including a captain, while thirteen others were wounded. Three watchtowers and an armored vehicle for the army were damaged.”

On Friday, the media service of al-Hashd al-Shaabi [Popular Mobilization Forces] repulsed an attack by IS in Tal Safuk region, killing six militants and burning down a vehicle loaded with weapons.

4 ISIS Holdouts die in Mosul

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Several Islamic State militants were killed after being besieged inside a house in south of Mosul city, an informed security source said.

Speaking to Shafaq News, the source said Federal Police troops managed to kill four IS members after being besieged inside an empty house in Qayyarah, south of Mosul.

The four militants, according to the source, infiltrated earlier on the day to the region. They were attempted to plant seven bombs, that were in their possession, to target security troops there.

On July 10, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared victory over IS militants who had held the second largest Iraqi city since 2014. More than 25000 militants were killed throughout the campaign, which started in October.

Since the city was declared free, security troops continue to comb western Mosul areas for hidden IS cells.

Security forces detained the alleged criminal mastermind of the cell in a safe house in Fez, where they found guns and a large quantity of bullets, materials for making suicide belts, nails and electric wires, according to a statement from the interior ministry.

Police also found chemical products that could be used for making explosives, and a "suspicious car", the statement said. It said one of the suspects was an explosives expert.

Those arrested were "planning to carry out dangerous terrorist operations targeting sensitive sites, at the instigation of ISIS (IS) coordinators", it said.

Moroccan authorities say they have dismantled dozens of Islamist Death Eater cells since 2002, including about 50 with alleged links to IS.

Indian forces kill Jaish-e-Mohammed commander in Kashmir
More on this story from earlier this week.
[LongWarJournal] Indian security forces killed a notorious Jaish-e-Mohammed "chief operational commander" earlier this week in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan continues to aid terrorist groups operating in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The commander, who went by the alias Abu "Khalid," or Shahid Showkat, was highly sought by Indian security forces for his role in orchestrating attacks targeting Indian military positions and personnel.

Indian press reports detailed that Khalid exchanged small arms fire with security forces before he was trapped in a house and eventually killed by Jammu and Kashmir police near the Sapore district. Later reports suggested that a former love interest of Khalid’s provided tips to police about his planned attacks and potential whereabouts, which ultimately led to his killing.

Hillary Clinton falsely claims Donald Trump is an 'admitted sex assaulter' as she compares him to Harvey Weinstein - but claims allegations against Bill are 'clearly in the past'
  • [Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Hillary Clinton, who received campaign funding from Weinstein, called rape and sexual assault allegations facing the movie mogul 'heartbreaking'

  • Clinton was apparently referring to the tape leaked during the campaign where Donald Trump was heard boasting about 'grabbing women by the p****y'

  • In fact he has never 'admitted' a sexual assault and apologized for 'locker room talk'

  • She told the BBC's Andrew Marr: 'I really commend the women who have been willing to step forward now and tell their stories'

  • In another interview with Channel 4 she said her campaign would hand back donations from Weinstein but had still to do so

  • That changed her first claim that she would give from her personal income - which would have earned her a tax break

Harvey Weinstein expelled from motion picture academy
[LATIMES] Embattled film mogul Harvey Weinstein ‐ a once-dominant force in the Academy Awards who rewrote the rules of Oscar campaigning ‐ has been expelled from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in response to mounting allegations of sexual harassment and assault against him.

The film academy’s 54-member board of governors, which includes such industry luminaries as Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Kathleen Kennedy and Whoopi Goldberg, voted in an emergency meeting on Saturday morning to remove Weinstein from the organization’s ranks in an unprecedented public rebuke of a prominent industry figure. The move marked the latest blow in Weinstein’s stunning downfall and, in symbolic terms, amounts to a virtual expulsion from Hollywood itself.

George Lopez booed off stage after Trump jokes flop at gala
[PAGESIX] Comic George Lopez was booed off stage at a gala for juvenile diabetes in Denver last week, over an anti-Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
routine that fell flat with the crowd.

We’re told the flap began when Trump backer and Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei donated $250,000 but requested that Lopez cool it with the anti-Trump jokes at the Carousel Ball.

An attendee at the event ‐ where tables sold from $5,000 to $100,000 to benefit the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes ‐ commented on a YouTube video that "George was asked nicely to stop making Trump jokes by a man in front row [Maffei] who just donated $250K." But "George doesn’t, continues. Gets booed."

We’re told that Lopez responded to Maffei, "Thank you for changing my opinion on old white men, but it doesn’t change the way I feel about orange men."

Trying to recover and sensing the audience turn, Lopez said, "Listen, it’s about the kids . . . I apologize for bringing politics to an event. This is America ‐ it still is. So I apologize to your white privilege."

We’re told Lopez also told a joke about Trump’s proposed border wall with Mexico, saying, "I guess you can get some Mexicans to do it cheaper and they wouldn’t crush the tunnels underneath."

When the audience did not respond well, he quipped, "Are you El Chapo people?" in reference to the drug kingpin who has used tunnels to evade authorities.

Lopez then announced a video segment ‐ but he did not return to the stage, and a local newscaster took over the hosting duties.

TV host Chris Parente posted on Twitter, "big controversy: host of HUGE charity #CarouselBall, @georgelopez, makes political comments about Trump, drops f-bomb and is escorted out." But a source close to the comedian insisted to Page Six that Lopez’s segment was "only supposed to be four minutes," even though he was listed as the night’s emcee.

Lenny Kravitz performed at the gala, which raised $1.65 million.

Failed asylum seekers travelling from Germany pose terror threat, claims Denmark
13 October
[TheLocal.dk] The Danish government announced on Thursday that it was extending controls at its border with Germany. In a letter to the EU, Copenhagen cited the security risk posed by people fleeing deportation orders south of the border.

“The large number of illegal migrants and rejected asylum seekers who are awaiting deportation in Germany are a real security threat,” the Danish government wrote in a letter to the EU justifying the decision to extend border controls.

There is “a risk that terror groups will take advantage of their precarious situation,” the letter stated.

More than 200 migrant children rescued in Med
13 October
[AlAhram] A migrant rescue ship in the Mediterranean carried hundreds of children and unaccompanied minors from over 15 countries to safety in Italy on Friday. The Aquarius, a boat operated by charity group SOS Mediterranee along with Doctors Without Borders (MSF), brought 606 people including 241 minors to Palermo after a series of rescues at sea on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Nearly 180 of the youngsters were unaccompanied, the group said. Rescuers could be seen carrying the youngest charges off the ship, including toddlers in pyjamas and a week-old baby wrapped up tightly in a pink blanket. Among the women pulled to safety from unseaworthy dinghies, 11 were pregnant, two in their ninth month. Numerous migrants told aid workers they had been victims of sexual violence and torture in conflict-hit Libya, where they were held prisoner for months.

The migrants, who set sail from Libya for Italy, came from countries including Benin, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Syria, Somalia and Yemen.

Austria's leading election candidates target Muslims to score points
12 October
[DW] Austria's federal elections are in the homestretch. The topics of immigration, Islamization, refugees and border security are dominating the campaign like never before ‐ it has become a race between the right and the far-right. Those at the forefront of the testy battle over these topics are primarily the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), which is a member of the ruling government, and the opposition Freedom Party. The ÖVP's top candidate, Sebastian Kurz, says he wants to better protect the country's borders, fight political Islam and limit immigration. The FPÖ is calling for much the same but feels as if Kurz has stolen their talking points.

Help us... or our town will become the new Sangatte: Mayor fears his port town will turn into another refugee centre as dozens of men target trucks
14/10/17
It is a scene reminiscent of Calais before the notorious Jungle migrant camp was torn down. Dozens of young men (pictured) target lorries as they drive slowly towards the quiet ferry port of Ouistreham in Normandy. Without a policeman in sight, they break open the back doors and hide inside the trucks in the hope of reaching the UK. This daily – and potentially deadly – game of 'cat and mouse' prompted officials in the town to plead for help. eputy Mayor Luc Jammet warned that Ouistreham, which serves as a port for nearby Caen, was in danger of turning into 'the new Sangatte' – a reference to the centre near Calais that attracted thousands of migrants and became a haven for people smugglers before it was closed down in 2002. He said the town's infrastructure and small police force is not equipped to deal with a 'well-coordinated group of young men determined to get to Britain'. Put off by high security at Calais, young African and Asian men started arriving earlier this year and numbers have grown rapidly.

Community mourns ‘beloved’ teacher killed in Rogers Park crossfire
[CHICAGO.SUNTIMES] Shocked by the death of a longtime reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
teacher who was killed by a stray bullet Friday night in Rogers Park, her North Side community looked to honor her memory on Saturday.

Cynthia Trevillion, 64, was caught in the crossfire while walking about 6:30 p.m. in the 6900 block of North Glenwood, when someone in a dark-colored SUV opened fire on two juveniles standing on the street near the Morse Red Line CTA station, authorities said.

Trevillion was struck in the neck and head, and she died after being taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Trevillion worked as a middle school math teacher at Chicago Waldorf School, where she was a member of the school’s faculty for more than 30 years, Administrative Director Luke Goodwin said. She taught at Waldorf for the last 14 years in Chicago, but previously worked for the private school system in Ann Arbor and bankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit
... ruled by Democrats since 1962. A city whose Golden Age included the Purple Gang...
. Her husband John Trevillion is also a Waldorf employee.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with John and Cynthia’s family," Goodwin said. "Cynthia was a beloved faculty member for over 30 years. Her Waldorf family reaches hundreds if not thousands of grieving friends."

A campaign set up on the fundraising website YouCaring raised more than $12,000 in less than a day to help cover funeral costs.

"To be sure, Cynthia had dedicated her life to providing our children with the best education possible," a statement on the site read.

Community members planned to gather Saturday night at Rogers Park Social, a bar and lounge located near the shooting scene. The event looked to serve as a fundraiser for her family, and as an opportunity to honor her memory, according to an event posted on Facebook. A Rogers Park community vigil was also scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday at Tobey Prinz Beach Park.

After the shooting, the vehicle drove off and the juveniles bravely ran away, Ald Joe Moore (49th) said in a statement, adding that he was working with police and urged anyone with information to call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8200.

"Our hearts are heavy today as our community grieves the loss of an innocent victim to gun violence," Moore said.

The alderman said he was aware of an "increase in youths loitering" at the intersection where the shots were fired. Earlier this week, a "meet-and-greet" was held in front of a Dunkin Donuts at the Red Line station with local coppers.

"The police and the city must do its part, but we also need residents of the community to become more involved," Moore said.

The neighborhood also experienced another shooting Friday night, which critically maimed a 15-year-old boy about 30 minutes earlier and about a mile away, Chicago Police said. The boy was shot in the back during an "altercation" in an alley off the 7100 block of North Ridge. He was also taken to Saint Francis Hospital, where he was in surgery Friday night and listed at death's door.

Boko Haram Fighters Surrender in Northern Cameroon
[AnNahar] Nearly 60 men who said they were captured by the Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
Islamist group and forced to fight for them in Nigeria have surrendered to authorities in northern Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...

After spending two years with Boko Haram, the men decided to flee with their families and hand themselves in, according to several men who had surrendered and spoke to journalists at a ceremony in the town of Mozogo on Friday.

A total of nearly 400 people originally from Cameroon -- 58 men, 86 women and 244 children -- said they had been taken hostage by Boko Haram fighters during attacks on their villages and taken to Nigeria, where they were forced to join the jihadist group.

The men told news hounds they had fought for Boko Haram and were laying down their arms of their own will.

They surrendered at the border with Nigeria to a village vigilante group formed to combat the jihadists. The vigilantes then handed them over to the authorities.

Ousmane Kouila, head of the group, said they had been out on patrol in the border area when they met the fleeing Boko Haram fighters. "They said they were returning, and that they were surrendering," he said.

The local governor went to meet them and ordered them to be moved away from the border to avoid any reprisals by Boko Haram.

"We are counting on them to also convince others who are hesitating (to surrender) and there are a lot of them they tell us," said Midjiyawa Bakari, governor of the Far North region.

Authorities would provide the escapees with psychological help, he said.

"They have been through brainwashing, perhaps also having taken an oath on the Koran or made a blood pact," the governor said, adding they needed help with "all they must have endured" in the hands of Boko Haram.

At least that's one of my guesses as I'm not too familiar with the situation in Nigeria/Cameroon.

Court orders arrest of Abu Sayyaf 'hard-core mother'
[Rappler] A court has issued an arrest warrant against the mother of a terrorist bomb expert, who, together with a female police official, had attempted to rescue Abu Sayyaf remnants that drifted to Bohol in April this year. Judith Dongon, mother of bomb expert Renierlo Dongon, faces charges of resistance and disobedience of an agent of a person in authority.

Dongon, her son Renierlo, a 13-year-old son of Rajah Sulaiman Movement leader Ahmed Santos, and now dismissed Police Superintendent Maria Cristina Nobleza were arrested on April 22 in Clarin town, Bohol, on suspicions of attempting to rescue Abu Sayyaf stragglers.

The four were intercepted at a checkpoint set up by the army and the police at the height of pursuit operations against the fleeing Abu Sayyaf rebels that tried to infiltrate Bohol. Police recovered bomb-making materials and blasting caps at their rented apartment in Panglao town.

Dongon and Nobleza, considered "high-risk detainees," arrived in Bohol on Friday to face charges on illegal possession of firearms and explosives. Certain roads in the city were closed to commuters Friday as the court heard the case. SWAT operatives were deployed outside the court building.

Earlier, PNP Director General Roland "Bato" Dela Rosa called Judith Dongon a "hard-core mother" due to her alleged ties with extremists. Judith's daughters had married slain Malaysian terrorist Zulkifli bin Hir, also known as Marwan (who was killed in 2015), Abu Sayyaf founder Khadaffy Janjalani, Abu Sulayman al-Muhajir (believed to be a senior member of al-Qaeda's Al Nusra Front), and Santos.

R. Dongon was the alleged culprit in the 2012 bombing in Cagayan de Oro City which killed four people, including two police officers. Dongon, who was once detained in Camp Crame, was later released by court due to "legal technicalities."

Rouhani hits back at Trump after nuclear deal speech
[Al Jazeera] Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has hit back at his US counterpart, Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
, over his aggressive new strategy towards Iran, saying Tehran will remain committed to a multinational nuclear deal as long at it serves its national interests.

Rouhani's remarks came in response to a speech by Trump earlier on Friday in which the US president "decertified" his backing for the landmark deal - also signed in 2015 by Britannia, La Belle France, Russia, Germany and the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
- and left its fate in the hands of Congress.

"What was heard today was nothing but the repetition of baseless accusations and swear words that they have repeated for years," Rouhani said in a televised address from Tehran.

"The Iranian nation does not expect anything else from you," he added.

Rouhani called the deal not renegotiable, adding that Trump's decision to not certify it would isolate the US as other signatories of the accord remained committed to it.
