Could ESPN Bail On The NFL?
If they did, I think this would be the end of ESPN and would serve as a lesson in business schools for decades on how corporations commit suicide.
[HollywoodReporter] It’s not outlandish to entertain a previously unthinkable prospect: Might ESPN elect to go without rights to NFL games?
In a span of less than five years, industry giant ESPN has seen its narrative transformed from that of a mighty colossus into the hard-luck tale of a ragtag warrior.

As it struggles to regain heretofore heroic heights ‐ levels of growth that are probably no longer attainable ‐ ESPN has had to endure a slew of significant workforce layoffs (with more reportedly on the way) and a once-doting Wall Street that has turned a skeptically cold shoulder. Astonishing increases in earnings, previously viewed as faits acomplis, now seem like fantasies from another world, thanks to the now-familiar combo of cord-cutting and burgeoning rights fees.

With so much of ESPN’s universe asunder, it’s not outlandish now to entertain a previously unthinkable prospect: Might ESPN elect to go without rights to NFL games after the expiration of its eight-year deal for Monday Night Football in 2021?!

#6  To be fair, both entities are doing the dog.

Basic camera work, sounds of the game, and few info graphics would do wonders as we have gone from sportscasters who know the game in and out and love it, to commentators who live off cue cards and piss off viewers.

Seriously, Joe Buck's greatest broadcast in his career was last night when he just STFU for almost an inning. I think he was a little pissy the game went extra.

Watched KSU@KU football game last weekend. Real low prestige game to host, right? Had to dig up a couple old guys. They were sportcasters of the olde school and were fantastic. Also a flat blunt reminder how low, boring, and vanilla sports coverage has become.

Buzzfeed Weenies Shocked At Their Low Tesosterone Levels
The first picture looks like a reboot of 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy'. Let the mocking commence!
[InformationLiberation] The normal testosterone level for an American male is a range anywhere from 270 to 1070 ng/dL with an average of 679 ng/dL.

When a crew from Buzzfeed got their testosterone levels checked as part of an investigation into male attractiveness, 3 out of 4 were apparently low:
Three of the four on the chart are lower than the low of 270 cited above, Way to go, Zach and Ned!

Manafort, Gates indicted in first charges from Russia probe
President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, and a former business associate, Rick Gates, were indicted Monday on charges of conspiracy against the United States, money laundering and several other financial charges.

The charges were the first stemming from special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into possible ties between Trump's presidential campaign and Russia. The indictment filed in federal court in Washington accused both men of funneling tens of millions of dollars in payments through foreign companies and bank accounts.

Manafort and Gates surrendered to federal authorities, and were expected in court later Monday to face charges brought by Mueller's team.

China-Japan-Koreas
UDMH Production in North Korea: Additional Facilities Likely
A recent article discussed the potential production of unsymmetrical di-methyl-hydrazine (UDMH) in North Korea. UDMH is an important liquid rocket engine fuel and is critical to North Korea’s long-range missile programs as it is used by the Hwasong-12 intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) and Hwasong-14 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems, and will likely also be used by future IRBMs and ICBMs. The article identified several research papers published by North Korean researchers related to this capability including one suggesting that production may be taking place at the February 8 Vinalon Complex in Hungnam.[1] This assessment is supported by the fact that this complex contains production lines for both chlorine and ammonia, chemicals used in the production of hydrazine, the presence of waste water ponds, and recent construction activities within the complex.

We believe that this article represents a reasonable starting point for the discussion of potential UDMH production in North Korea. That said, we would like to suggest additional locations that are likely involved in this activity‐most notably, the July 27 Factory (a.k.a., Aoji-ri Chemical Complex)‐and provide some additional thoughts and information to further the discussion, with the goal of developing a more granular picture of North Korea’s UDMH production capability. While most analysts agree that North Korea possesses the scientific and industrial capability to produce UDMH, no firm open source evidence has been found confirming this notion. However, the failure to domestically produce the fuel would represent an extremely vulnerable single-point-of-failure that the North understands well and has most likely addressed, given known historical practices within its arms production industry. We look forward to further discussion on this subject.

Former Trump Campaign Manager Paul Manafort To Surrender In Russia Probe
[Huffpoo] WASHINGTON ― Paul Manafort, onetime campaign chairman to President Donald Trump, and former business associate Rick Gates have been told to surrender to federal authorities, multiple news outlets reported on Monday. Manafort was spotted by reporters leaving his condo in Virginia early on Monday.

Manafort and Gates are expected to be charged in an intensifying investigation into Russian meddling in the United States’ 2016 presidential election.

The office of special counsel Robert Mueller, which is conducting the probe, is expected to serve the indictment on Monday. The apparent forthcoming arrests come three days after news broke that a federal grand jury in Washington had filed the first charges stemming from Mueller’s investigation.

2. If not, would he make something up? His history suggests he would.
From the beginning the Deep State knew it had to get rid of Trump, and Manafort might give them a plausible charge for Impeachment - operative word is 'plausible.' With both parties wanting him out, all they need is an excuse, not a legitimate criminal conviction.

Clapper: ‘The Russians Have Succeeded Beyond Their Wildest Expectations'
[Politico] America’s former top spymaster has a few things he’d like to clear up about the Russia investigation.

James Clapper, a crusty ex-cargo pilot who rose through the Air Force ranks and retired as director of national intelligence in January, only to emerge publicly as one of President Donald Trump’s foremost critics, wants you to know that no matter how much Trump rants about the "Russia hoax," the 2016 hacking was not only real and aimed at electing Trump but constituted a major victory for a dangerous foreign adversary. "The Russians," he said, have "succeeded beyond their wildest expectations."

Far from being the "witch hunt" Trump has repeatedly called it, the investigation of whether Trump’s team colluded with Russia constitutes a "cloud not only over the president, but the office of the presidency, the administration, the government and the country" until it is resolved, Clapper told me in an extensive new interview for The Global Politico, our weekly podcast on world affairs.

And yes, Clapper is sticking with his view that the allegations are "worse than Watergate," given that the Russiagate investigation involves "a foreign adversary actively and aggressively and directly engaging in our political processes to interfere with them and to undermine our system, whereas in Watergate you were dealing with a two-bit petty burglary, domestic only."

With special prosecutor Robert Mueller now reported to have secured the first indictment in the Russiagate probe, Clapper commented at length in our interview on the investigation whose initial stages he observed up close as President Obama’s top intelligence official, telling me that new revelations in recent months have only deepened his concern about the Russian intervention‐beyond what even Obama’s most senior officials knew before last year’s election.

Afghanistan
The Man Who Thought He Could Fix Afghanistan
[Politico] KABUL‐On November 9, 2016, Scott Guggenheim, a longtime American adviser to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, rose early with the sun, got into an armored vehicle and headed across Kabul’s fortified Green Zone to the U.S. Embassy. Afghanistan is 8½ hours ahead of the East Coast of the United States, and the American expatriates, Afghan elites and others who had managed to scare up invitations had gathered in the basement of the embassy‐a city block-sized, blast-resistant compound as charmless as it is spotless‐to watch the results of the American presidential election. The basement was dominated by State Department employees, who are officially barred from political activism while living abroad but tend to support Democrats; some, anticipating a Hillary Clinton victory, were even calling the occasion a party. On the wall hung a Donald Trump piñata.

By midmorning Kabul time, however, Trump had taken a commanding lead, and the mood in the embassy basement began to shift. Ties came undone, breakfast Danishes were anxiously devoured, and under the red, white and blue bunting, a stunned silence settled in. The cover band that had been playing earlier packed up its instruments. Some of the diplomats were typing furiously on their BlackBerrys. Others stepped outside to smoke, leaving behind a more Trump-friendly crowd of uniformed soldiers and veterans who had returned to Afghanistan as private contractors.

Guggenheim recalls thinking of the election outcome: "For Afghanistan, it’s not such a bad thing. But for the United States, it’s a disaster." Depressed, he returned to bed. A few days later, he saw Ghani at the Gul Khanna, the presidential office. "Will you give me a passport?" Guggenheim asked him, jokingly. Ghani told him he would.

Makes you wonder about some of the analyses and recommendations these experts provide, doesn't it? Sounds like they start out with a square peg and somehow make it fit into whatever shape holes they find. That's why they're in academia - they don't actually have to get anything done outside of filling reams of paper with unintelligible English-like sentences.

Funny thing is that Guggenheim is supposed to have spent decades in Indonesia. Last I heard, Indonesia is way behind China in terms of its economic development despite never having gone communist. Now, foreign development theorists never actually have the power to implement their recommendations if they don't have an occupation army in tow. That excuse went away when he showed up in Afghanistan.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
The Mother of All Scandals
[American Thinker] There is an answer to Hillary’s question, "What Happened?"

And yes, it should be considered a dumb question rather than a book title. But the short answer to her question is: She fooled almost the entire left, for over two decades. Oh wait, that was a book title, not a question.

And therein lies her biggest problem. She’s not really asking the question as she should be, she’s not reflecting. Instead, she’s wagging a finger and blaming everyone else for her loss.

Back to the Clintons fooling the left. Let’s start counting the ways. She was not just smart, she was the smartest woman ever. She was fully competent and capable in everything. She fought bravely for all the right issues. She was more qualified to be President than anyone who preceded her. She was, and is, the bright moral compass pointing the way forward to the left (who they believe should be all of us). She was the Yin to her husband’s Yang. They were the best power couple ever, a beacon of truth shining in the darkness.

Except they weren’t. She has proved that over time, and her book tour is confirming it.

And the left is about to melt down as she and hubby finally are revealed for who they are. Who are they? In a nutshell, they are the left’s version of Elmer Gantry: frauds who love adulation, and even more, love money, power, and fame. If you think the left melted down when Trump won, wait until they have the scales fall from their eyes as this new scandal engulfs her and her party.

Because this is the mother of all scandals.

Trump has used his branding genius on this scandal already. He called it this generation’s Watergate. Which has to grate on the left, the media has once again been duly trolled. After all, nothing was worse than Richard Nixon. Ever. Now, most have heard the media scoundrels use the term dog-whistle. It’s overused, and abused on the left, a smirk, a knowing wink and they all come alive, cackling when they use it. Well, Trump just whistled for them. "Watergate, Modern Age."

Barzani Resigns as Iraq and Iran Threaten Kurdistan's Border Crossings
[ISW] Key Takeaway: Iraq and Iran rejected a Kurdish ceasefire offer and launched a new phase of their military campaign against Iraqi Kurdistan. Iraqi forces and Iran’s proxies are prepared for new military operations to seize Iraqi Kurdistan's border crossings if Kurdish forces do not relinquish them. Iranian proxy leaders are coordinating with Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) commanders and may even direct the military operation, if it occurs. It will begin at the Fishkhabur crossing between Iraqi Kurdistan and Syria, where Iran's proxies including the Badr Organization and Asa'ib Ahl al Haq are deployed. Negotiations are underway after Prime Minister Abadi set a deadline for the handover of the crossings on October 28th, but there has been no sign of a Kurdish withdrawal. Kurdistan Regional Government President Masoud Barzani announced he will not seek an extension of his term past November 1st in a letter to the Kurdish Parliament on October 29th.

#4  It was stupid to do the referendum without a worst case war plan. And if they had war gamed the ensuing festivities, they would have recognized that the Shiite material advantage required counters they had not developed. But then again this guy's incompetence is not exactly some dark secret. He had over 25 years to build a self-sufficient state, and he dropped the ball repeatedly. Whereas Israel came into being from a standing start and almost immediately defeated the combined Arab armies.

#6  The Kurds enjoyed a quarter century under Pax Americana in relative peace and yet could not fashion a viable economy, state or military. Its leaders (and their progeny) should be forced into exile. Their removal from the local gene pool would improve the evolutionary fitness of the Kurdish people.

#7  Meanwhile, Jewish exiles from Europe, malnourished and fresh off an attempt to exterminate them, held off the combined Arab armies after a mere three years of the initial large scale Holocaust survivor settlements in Mandatory Palestine. Given that much of their weaponry came from cash-and-carry purchases from the Soviet Bloc, it's a testament to Ben-Gurion's skill and native intelligence and that of his compatriots that they managed this military miracle. What's even more impressive is that they managed to create an economically viable state out of the mostly barren sands of what is now Israel.

#8  Barzani is a moron. He has just defeated ISIS, enjoys the beneficence of a grateful nation (the U.S.), and has the whip hand in Iraqi politics.

He could have led the Kurdish provinces into a super-special autonomous region with defacto independence, which would be accepted by everyone in a decade or two.

But, instead he goes for a territory grab for Kirkuk's oil fields. Of course he was whipped by the people who are stealing the money.

His failure here shows his greed and incompetence. I am sad for the valiant Kurdish people, who deserve better leaders. Their permanent independence would have been far more valuable than any money they might have gotten from a depleting oil field.

Sad. Just Sad.

NY Times Publishes Column Critical Of The Left's Soft Spot For Communism With Predictable Results
Selected Excerpt from the NYT article
[Hot Air] How many readers, I wonder, are familiar with this history of atrocity and denial, except in a vague way? How many know the name of Lazar Kaganovich, one of Stalin’s principal henchmen in the famine? What about other chapters large and small in the history of Communist horror, from the deportation of the Crimean Tatars to the depredations of Peru’s Shining Path to the Brezhnev-era psychiatric wards that were used to torture and imprison political dissidents?
Soetoro takes Mooch, kids, and free-rent granny to Robben Island prison courtyard.
Why is it that people who know all about the infamous prison on Robben Island in South Africa have never heard of the prison on Cuba’s Isle of Pines? Why is Marxism still taken seriously on college campuses and in the progressive press? Do the same people who rightly demand the removal of Confederate statues ever feel even a shiver of inner revulsion at hipsters in Lenin or Mao T-shirts?

These aren’t original questions. But they’re worth asking because so many of today’s progressives remain in a permanent and dangerous state of semi-denial about the legacy of Communism a century after its birth in Russia.

Honeypot: Was the Trump Camp's Meeting With Russian Lawyer All a Clinton Set-Up?
[PJ] This week's bombshell ‐ that the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign financed former British spy Christopher Steele's salacious dossier allegedly connecting Donald Trump and Russia ‐ may suggest something even more devious. The dossier was compiled by the notorious firm Fusion GPS, which also worked for Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, the very woman who met with Donald Trump Jr. in a meeting deemed pivotal to the case for Trump-Russia "collusion."

The Fusion GPS connection raises a supremely interesting question: Did the Clinton campaign actually orchestrate the meeting between Trump campaign officials and Veselnitskaya? Is the entire Trump-Russia collusion narrative the result of a Clinton set-up?

After PJ Media's Liz Sheld suggested the idea to this reporter, it seemed increasingly plausible. Not only does the timeline work out, but Clinton attacked Trump as Putin's puppet and Clinton's connections to Russia had been powerfully reported in 2015. What better way to distract from Clinton's ties to Russia than proving "collusion" on Trump's part?

Soetoro Campaign Paid Same Clinton and DNC Law Firm that Hired Fusion GPS
[Breitbart] The Obama campaign organization, Obama For America, paid nearly a million dollars to the same law firm that the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) used to funnel money to Fusion GPS, the firm that produced the Trump dossier, according to a new report.

Obama for America began the payments to Perkins Coie in April 2016 ‐ the same time the law firm hired Fusion GPS to look into ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, The Federalist’s Sean Davis reported Sunday.

This revelation could mean that President Obama and other administration officials may have, along with the Clinton campaign and the DNC, helped fund the unverified Trump dossier, which was used by the FBI to get a surveillance warrant on a Trump campaign official and used as a roadmap for the FBI’s investigation into any collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Jesse Jackson: NFL owners have 'plantation mentality'
[CHRON] Reverend Jesse Jackson, the noted civil rights activist, wants to have an extensive conversation with Texans owner Bob McNair.

In the wake of a firestorm of controversy following McNair saying "We can't have the inmates running the prison," at a recent NFL owners meetings, Jackson was sharply critical of the remarks in a telephone interview Sunday with The Houston Chronicle. Jackson accused owners, including McNair, of having a "plantation mentality."

Jackson added that there should be sanctions against McNair for his comments. McNair has apologized publicly in a statement and privately to his players and stated that he wasn't referring to players in those remarks.

said he reached out to McNair and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and hasn't heard back from them.

Jackson suggested that the NFL provide extensive details about what was said at the closed-door meeting regarding players' national anthem protests.

Iraq
Iraq to deploy soldiers to key Kurdistan border crossing
[PRESSTV] Members of the Iraqi Federal Police force are going to be deployed to a key border crossing in the country’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region after Iraqi government forces and Kurdish Peshmerga fighters reached an agreement in a bid to resolve a conflict about control of border crossings.

An Iraqi government source, speaking on condition of anonymity

, told AFP that Iraqi and Kurdish military commanders struck a deal in the strategic northern city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, located some 400 kilometers (250 miles) north of the capital Baghdad, late on Sunday for government forces to take control of Fishkhabur border crossing.

Fishkhabur is a vital oil export point on the border with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

and Syria.

Peshmerga fighters exchanged heavy artillery fire with the Iraqi army soldiers there over the past few days. Iraqi officials then gave the Kurds an ultimatum to withdraw from the area around Fishkhabur "within several hours."

, marking his third visit to the monarchy this year.

US Deputy National Security Adviser Dina Powell and the administration's Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt traveled with Kushner on a commercial flight to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday and returned on Saturday, Politico reported Sunday, citing a White House official.

"The senior advisor to the president, the deputy national security advisor for strategy, and the special representative for international negotiations recently returned from Saudi Arabia," the White House official said.

Food being used as 'weapon of war' in Yemen, says WFP
"Food fight!"
[PRESSTV] The World Food Programme (WFP) says food is being used as a "weapon of war" in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
at a time when millions of people face an impending famine in the conflict-ravaged impoverished Arab country.

"Yemen is on the brink of famine. Cholera is compounding a dramatic food crisis. Food is being used as a weapon of war," Elisabeth Rasmussen, the WFP assistant executive director, said at a conference on aid to Yemen on Sunday.

The United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
has already described the ongoing conflict in Yemen as the "largest humanitarian crisis in the world." The war has left seven million people at risk of famine and an estimated 17 million, which amounts to about 60 percent of the overall population of the country, food insecure. Another 2,100 people have died of cholera since April as hospitals struggle to secure basic supplies across the country.

Bahrain calls for freezing of Qatar’s PGCC membership
[PRESSTV] Bahraini Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifah has warned that his country will not attend an upcoming Persian Gulf Cooperation Council if Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...

"If Qatar thinks that its current playing with time and evading will buy it time till the upcoming GCC summit, then it's mistaken. If the situation remained as it is, we won't attend this summit," said Al Khalifah on his official Twitter account on Sunday.

He added that the right step to preserve the council is to halt Qatar's membership... "otherwise we are fine with its outing from the council."

Earlier in the day, Qatari Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani warned that any military action against his country will plunge the region into chaos.

Two Navy Seals Suspected of Murder Of Green Beret in Mali
[NYTIMES] WASHINGTON — Navy criminal authorities are investigating whether two members of the elite SEAL Team 6 strangled an Army Green Beret in June while they were in Mali on a secret assignment, military officials say.

Staff Sgt. Logan J. Melgar, a 34-year-old veteran of two tours in Afghanistan, was found dead on June 4 in the embassy housing he shared in the Malian capital, Bamako, with a few other Special Operations forces assigned to the West African nation to help with training and counterterrorism missions.

The Navy SEALs’ potential involvement also raised the prospect of a highly unusual killing of an American soldier by fellow troops, and threatened to stain SEAL Team 6, the famed counterterrorism unit that carried out the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

Sergeant Melgar’s superiors in Stuttgart, Germany, almost immediately suspected foul play, and dispatched an investigating officer to the scene within 24 hours, military officials said. Agents from the Army’s Criminal Investigation Command arrived soon after and spent months on the case before handing it off last month to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

No one has been charged in Sergeant Melgar’s death, which a military medical examiner ruled to be “a homicide by asphyxiation,” or strangulation, said three military officials briefed on the autopsy results. The two Navy SEALs, who have not been identified, were flown out of Mali shortly after the episode and were placed on administrative leave.

According to military officials, Sergeant Melgar was part of a small team in Bamako assigned to help provide intelligence about Islamic militancies in Mali to the United States ambassador there, Paul A. Folmsbee, to protect American personnel against attacks. The sergeant also helped assess which Malian Army troops might be trained and equipped to build a counterterrorism force.

Sergeant Melgar, a native of Lubbock, Tex., was about four months into what military officials said was a six-month tour in Mali, and was living with three other American Special Operations troops in a house provided by the American Embassy.

Two of those housemates were members of the Navy’s SEAL Team 6, which has over the past decade carried out kill-or-capture missions in Libya, Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq and Somalia, as well as the one that killed bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan, in 2011.

According to two senior American military officials, the two SEAL commandos were in Mali with the approval of Mr. Folmsbee in a previously undisclosed and unusual clandestine mission to support French and Malian counterterrorism forces battling Al Qaeda’s branch in North and West Africa, known as Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, as well as smaller cells aligned with Al Qaeda or the Islamic State. The Americans helped provide intelligence for missions, and had participated in at least two such operations in Mali this year before Sergeant Melgar’s death.

Those who knew Sergeant Melgar described him as a soldier’s soldier — he deployed to Afghanistan twice on training missions between July 2014 and February 2016, according to his Army service record — and a devoted father who texted and talked via Skype multiple times a day with his wife while serving overseas.

Members of the militia recovered the bodies of the dead bad boys. Some of the attackers fled to Afghanistan, the sources added.

Security personnel remain vulnerable to attacks by snuffies in areas near the Pak-Afghan border.

New FBI chief says he’s already losing sleep over Chicago violence
[CHICAGO.SUNTIMES] The FBI’s Jeffrey Sallet has taken on mobsters and terrorists.

He fled the dust cloud when the first tower fell on Sept. 11, 2001. He had nearly finished his fourth Boston Marathon when the bombs went off on April 15, 2013 ‐ before he tossed on his finisher’s shirt and joined the manhunt for the bombers.

But as he prepares to take the helm of the FBI’s field office in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
, Sallet said there is one issue already keeping him up at night: This city’s ongoing struggle with gun violence.

"I’m doing my homework and making sure that I am engaged on that issue from the moment I hit the ground in Chicago," Sallet told the Chicago Sun-Times.

Sallet is coming here from New Orleans, where he led the FBI’s field office for two years. He officially becomes Chicago’s special agent in charge on Nov. 6, assuming the job last held by Michael J. Anderson, who announced his retirement in August.

De Blasio ‘doesn’t recall’ $100K donation in alleged pay-to-play scheme
[NYPOST] Mayor de Blasio astonishingly said Sunday that New Yorkers don’t care whether City Hall is corrupt.
If you're ever up on a Murder One charge, just say "I don't recall" and you're off the hook.
"There are much more important issues than what these guys [news hounds] are raising," the mayor claimed amid bombshell allegations in court last week that pay-to-play was alive, well ‐ and rampant ‐ at City Hall.

Hizzoner insisted that the topic is far from "interesting conversation.

"But I’m offering [the press] a chance to ask a few more questions. So just let’s bear with them a few more times, and then the rest of New York City will go back to caring about real things," he told a group gathered at a post-Hurricane Sandy event.

De Blasio didn’t deny personally seeking a $102,000 donation from businessman-felon Jona Rechnitz for a pet political project, as the disgraced mayoral donor testified in court Friday.

Rechnitz said the mayor’s campaign-finance director Ross Offinger first hit him up for the hefty amount, and when the businessman balked because he was unhappy with not getting special treatment from City Hall for his ventures, de Blasio personally called him and made the plea.

Syria says Raqqah still occupied, as US-backed forces replace Daesh terrorists
[PRESSTV] Syria says it still considers the northern city of Raqqah "an occupied city," less than two weeks after US-backed Kurdish-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) flushed out ISIS Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
hard boyz from the city but they also kept government troops out of the liberating offensive.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry made the comments in a statement released on Sunday, adding that Raqqah, used to be ISIS’s de facto capital for a couple of years, still "cannot be considered liberated until the entry of the Syrian army, which is fighting" against hard boyz "along with its allies."

"The allegations of the United States and its so-called alliance concerning the liberation of the city of Raqqah from the ISIS terrorist group are pure lies," further said the statement, carried by Syria's official news agency, SANA.

The ministry also asserted that Washington's goal was to "divert the eyes of the international community from the crimes committed by this alliance in the province of Raqqah."

On October 17, the SDF coalition announced that it had defeated ISIS in Raqqah and three days later said that it had fully recaptured the city from the terror group, following a military operation, which was launched in July without Damascus’ approval.

At the time, the US-backed SDF also said in a provocative statement that the city would be part of a system of "federal government" in the country’s north.

The Syrian military has not so far engaged the SDF, which has reportedly shelled the positions of government troops on several occasions in recent weeks.

Gunmen killed after Mogadishu attack left 14 dead: Ministry
[AlAhram] Somalia's security ministry said Sunday that forces had killed two button men and captured three after a siege at a Mogadishu hotel following a twin boom-mobileing that left at least 14 dead.

Spokesman Abdiasiz Ali Ibrahim said a number of people had been rescued from Shabaab button men at the Nasa Hablod Hotel 2.

The attack began when a boom-mobile went kaboom! outside the hotel entrance, followed by a minibus loaded with explosives going off at a nearby intersection.

"Five button men stormed the building, two of them were killed and the rest captured alive. The security forces are still working on retrieving the casualties, we don't have exact number of the casualties so far," the front man told news hounds.

Another security official Mohammed Moalim Adan had put the corpse count at 14, "most of them civilians", as the operation was still ongoing Saturday night.

One senior police official and a former MP were among the dead.

The al-Qaeda-affiliated Shabaab claimed the bombing and hotel assault in a statement on its Andalus radio station.

"The Mujahedeen fighters are inside Nasa Hablod 2 hotel where... apostate officials are staying," said the brief statement.

The hotel is popular among government officials, several of whom were rescued by the security forces.

Corker to use power in Senate, alliance with Flake to question Trump on foreign policy
[WASHINGTONTIMES] President Trump has dubbed him "Liddle Bob Corker" on Twitter, but the Tennessee Republican still wields big-time influence over American foreign policy.

‐ both longtime moderate Republicans and both on their way out at the end of next year ‐ might seem like garden-variety theatrics from two lame-duck politicians, Capitol Hill sources say the implications are deep.

Mr. Corker heads the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, of which Mr. Flake is a member, and has suggested he intends to use the panel as a forum in the coming months to air concerns about Mr. Trump’s leadership on a range of fronts, including Iran, North Korea, Russia and the Middle East.

"The committee is going to be very active," Mr. Corker told news hounds last week before announcing plans to hold a series of hearings, which could generate headlines that damage the public’s view of Mr. Trump.

"It’s going to be a very robust period of time," Mr. Corker said. And it all starts Monday evening, when Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson and Defense Secretary James Mattis appear before the committee for questioning over the administration’s "perspective" on war powers and whether Congress ought to revise the Authorization for Use of Military Force

UN finds another tunnel opening under UNWRA school in Gaza
[IsraelTimes] Global agency says it sealed off underground passage after 'unacceptable' find under its facilities

United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
officials discovered a tunnel built under a school in the Gazoo Strip run by UNRWA, the international body’s agency for Paleostinian refugees, the global body said in a statement.

Since the discovery some two weeks ago, UNRWA closed the school and sealed off the opening to the tunnel. The school resumed operations last Wednesday, the UN organization said.

The statement Saturday did not say where the tunnel led, where it was found, or who was believed to have constructed it.

"The presence of a tunnel underneath an UNRWA installation, which enjoys inviolability under international law, is unacceptable. It places children and agency staff at risk," the agency said.

UNRWA informed Israel’s Coordinator of the Government Activities in the Territories, IDF Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, of the incident and also lodged a complaint with the relevant authorities in Gazoo over the violation of the neutrality of a UN facility, according to a Sunday report from the Hebrew-language Ynet website.

Over the years, Gazoo’s Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, terrorist rulers have built a labyrinth of tunnels, some passing under the border into Israel which they used to launch attacks during their last conflict with the Jewish state in 2014.

On June 1, UNRWA said it found "part of a tunnel that passes under two adjacent agency schools in the Maghazi camp" during construction work.

At the time, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon submitted a letter of protest to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the UN Security Council.

Hamas later "strongly condemned" the UNRWA revelation, saying it would be exploited by Israel to "justify its crimes."

The terror group denied it built the tunnel and said it had clarified the issue "with all factions and resistance forces, who clearly stated they had no actions related to the resistance in the said location."

UNRWA has long been criticized by Israel for aspects of its handling of relations with Hamas, and Israel has claimed that some of UNRWA’s Paleostinian employees support terrorist activities and spread anti-Semitism online.

An independent UN inquiry found in 2015 that Paleostinian gangs hid weapons in three empty UN-run schools in Gazoo and that in at least two cases Death Eaters "probably" fired rockets at Israel from the facilities during the summer war in 2014 between Israel and the Gazoo Strip.

Syrian rebels continue attacks in Deir Ezzor
Deir Ezzor (Syria News) The Syrian Democratic Forces militia has carried out, on Saturday, an extensive offensive on the Islamic State group, in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor Province, Qasioun News reported.

The Syrian Democratic Forces managed to capture Namlya Village on the banks of the Khabour River, in northern Deir Ezzor, after clashes with the Islamic State militants resulting in the killing of 9 ISIS fighters.

Furthermore, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) besieged the Islamic State militans near Khabour River, in northern Deir Ezzor, one week ago, after crossing the river and seizing both al-Omar and al-Tanak Oil Fields, northeast of Deir Ezzor.

Syrian rebels launch attacks on Basira

Deir Ezzor (Syria News) Informed sources informed that the Syrian Democratic Forces militia (SDF) launched an attack, at dawn today, on the headquarters of the Islamic State group (Daesh), and captured some parts of Basira Village, northeast of Deir Ezzor, Qasioun News reported.

The sources revealed that the Syrian Democratic Forces militia attacked the positions of the Islamic State group, on the banks of the Euphrates River, northeast of Deir Ezzor, and also managed to capture some parts of Basira Village, where the extremist militants are completely besieged.

The SDF militia also recaptured the villages of Baghdadi, Dahla, Jadida and Ukaidat, after violent battles with the Islamic State militants, east of Deir Ezzor, the sources added.

Syria army, IS group clashes in Deir Ezzor kill 73: Monitor

group in Deir Ezzor city have killed at least 73 fighters in the last 24 hours, a monitor said Sunday.

Syria's army controls most of Deir Ezzor city, capital of Deir Ezzor province in the country's east, and made further advances after responding to an IS group attack that began Saturday, the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor said.

The monitor said the fierce fighting Saturday killed at least 50 IS fighters, as well as 23 Syrian soldiers and pro-regime militiamen.

Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman said government forces had captured two new neighbourhoods and the municipal stadium.

"IS is now encircled in an area between the city and the (Euphrates) river," Abdel Rahman said.

IS once held large sections of Deir Ezzor city, and for nearly three years laid siege to other parts of it that remained under government control.

In early September, advancing government forces broke the siege, and they have been working since to expel the jihadists from the rest of the city.

Abdel Rahman said the fighting that began Saturday was the fiercest in the city since government troops broke the siege, adding that festivities were continuing Sunday, with regime ally Russia carrying out heavy air strikes in support of the army and allied fighters.

Deir Ezzor, an oil-rich province that borders Iraq, was once a stronghold of IS group, but the jihadist group faces twin assaults there, from the regime and the US-backed Kurdish-Arab Syrian Democratic Forces.

The jihadists have already been expelled from neighbouring Raqqa province, and are now confined to just a few pockets of territory in Deir Ezzor.

Bodies of 36 'Islamist militants' found in Libya
[AlAhram] The bodies of 36 people rubbed out have been found near Benghazi, in eastern Libya, a security official said Sunday.

The bodies, found in al-Abyar, around 70 kilometres (45 miles) east of Benghazi, were of suspected Islamist snuffies including 19 foreigners, the official said.

The United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
mission in Libya said it "condemns in the strongest terms the heinous crime resulting in the killing of at least 36" people.

It called for an immediate investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Controversial strongman Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
, whose self-proclaimed Libyan National Army controls the region, ordered an enquiry to find their killers, the pro-Haftar LANA news agency reported.

In Tripoli

, a national unity government opposed to an eastern administration backed by Haftar called the killings a "heinous crime and a horrible act," and said it would also launch an investigation.

Fighters in Haftar's LNA, which has battled jihadist groups since 2014, have in the past been accused of involvement in summary executions of detained Islamist murderous Moslems.

LANA said Haftar's probe would seek to uncover whether those killed were detained at the time.

In August, the International Criminal Court issued called for the arrest of a senior commander in an elite force fighting alongside Haftar's LNA.

The officer, Mahmoud Mustafa Busayf al-Werfalli, is accused of war crimes over at least seven incidents in 2016 and 2017.

Werfalli's brigade was involved in a three-year battle to rid Benghazi, Libya's second-largest city, of jihadists.

ICC judges allege he personally shot or ordered the execution of people who were either civilians or injured fighters.

They say he was behind 33 execution-style killings there.

Haftar's forces said he was already under arrest and would be tried by a military court.

India starts trade route to Afghanistan via Iran
[DAWN] India on Sunday shipped its first consignment of wheat to Afghanistan by sea through Iran's strategic Chahbahar Port, launching a trade route bypassing longtime rival Pakistain.

The shipment, an Indian gift for Afghanistan, was sent from the western seaport of Kandla. It will be taken by trucks to Afghanistan from the Iranian port.

The new trade route follows an air freight corridor introduced between India and Afghanistan in June last year to provide greater access for Afghan goods to the Indian market.

In his new Afghanistan strategy unveiled in August, United States President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
asked India to do more to help Afghanistan's development.

Pakistain currently does not allow India to transport through its territory to Afghanistan because of hostility in their ties.

Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said on Sunday that the shipment marked the convergence among India, Afghanistan, and Iran to spur an unhindered flow of commerce and trade throughout the region.

"I believe that this is the starting point of our journey to realize the full spectrum of connectivity from culture to commerce, from traditions to technology, from investments to Information Technology, from services to strategy and from people to politics," Swaraj said.

India, Afghanistan, and Iran last year decided to jointly establish a trade route for land-locked Central Asian countries. India committed up to $500 million for the development of the Chahabar Port along with associated roads and rail lines.

Iraq
Barzani to step down as Kurdish leader in Iraq
[AlAhram] Massud Barzani, the president of the autonomous Kurdish region in Iraq, told a closed-door session of parliament Sunday he was stepping down amid the fallout from a controversial independence referendum.

Also Sunday, the Kurds agreed to surrender to Iraqi forces the strategic border post of Fishkhabur, through which pass oil export pipelines to Ceyhan in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
"After November 1, I will no longer exercise my functions, and I reject any extension of my mandate," the 71-year-old Barzani said in a letter read out to parliament in the Kurdish capital Arbil, a copy of which was obtained by AFP.

"Changing the law on the presidency of Kurdistan or prolonging the presidential term is not acceptable," said the architect of the September 25 independence vote, which led to the Kurds losing to Baghdad's forces disputed territory and oilfields to which they had laid claim.

"I ask parliament to meet to fill the vacancy in power, to fulfil the mission and to assume the powers of the presidency of Kurdistan", said the letter.

Barzani said he would "remain a peshmerga" (Kurdish fighter) and "continue to defend the achievements of the people of Kurdistan".

Barzani's letter was sent to parliament to decide on the provisional redistribution of the presidency's powers until a presidential election, for which a date has yet to be fixed.

November 1 had originally been slated for both presidential and legislative elections in the Kurdish region of northern Iraq, but these were postponed in the chaos that followed the referendum -- which returned a massive "yes" to independence.

Sunday's parliamentary session was postponed several times amid political tensions.

Dozens of men rushed at the parliament building late Sunday, hitting out at journalists, media reports and MPs reported. Police had gun sex to disperse them.

The opposition Goran party which had sought Barzani's resignation and a "government of national salvation" opposes the redistribution of the presidency's powers.

That plan was proposed by the major Kurdish parties, Barzani's Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and its rival Kurdish Patriotic Union (PUK).

Barzani "symbolises the failure of Kurdish politics, and the only thing left for him to do is to issue a public apology," Goran MP Rabun Maarouf said before the session began.

KDP deputy Ari Harin spoke of an "international plot".

Barzani had come under growing opposition from his detractors after he organised the referendum on Kurdish independence that triggered a deep crisis with Baghdad.

The federal government deemed the vote unconstitutional, and its forces have since seized a swathe of disputed territory in the north from Kurdish fighters. Territory reclaimed from the Kurds in the sweeping operation included key oilfields in and around the disputed province of Kirkuk.

On Sunday, a government source in Baghdad told AFP that a deal had been reached under which Baghdad's forces would deploy at the disputed Fishkhabur border post with Turkey after festivities in the area on Thursday. The loss of the oilfields, which provided income that would have been critical to an independent Kurdish state, sparked recriminations among the Kurds.

Political life in Kurdistan is dominated by the KDP and PUK of Iraq's late president Jalal Talabani. Iraq's current president, Fuad Masum, is also a PUK member and had backed a push for dialogue between the Kurds and Baghdad before the referendum. After the vote, Masum said the referendum had triggered the assault on Kirkuk.

Iraq's neighbours Turkey and Iran, which have their own Kurdish minorities, also strongly opposed the non-binding vote, and Ankara on Thursday said the Iraqi Kurdish offer for the referendum to be frozen was "not enough", instead urging the Arbil government to cancel it.

French President Emmanuel Macron told Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi in a phone call Saturday that "everything possible should be done to avoid fighting between Iraqis", the presidency in Gay Paree said.

Barzani's move comes with Abadi's forces engaged in battles in the west with holdout jihadists of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. group, assaulting what the premier called "the last den of terrorism in Iraq", al-Qaim on the border with Syria.

The mandate of Barzani, the first and only elected president of the autonomous Kurdish region, expired in 2013. It was extended for two years and then continued in the chaos that followed the sweeping IS offensive across Iraq in 2014.

[PRESSTV] Angry demonstrators, some carrying clubs, have reportedly stormed the parliament of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region in the region’s capital city of Erbil as the Kurdish politicians approved a request by president of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Massoud Barzani
... hereditary head of the Kurdish Democratic Party, maybe a little too close to the Medes and the Persians for most people's tastes...
, to step down early next month.

According to witnesses, protesters were angry at Barzani’s decision to resign from the presidency of the region.

Some reports indicated that gunshots were heard as protesters, who claimed they were Peshmerga Kurdish fighters forced their way into the parliament building.

Bangladesh
Bangladesh PM assassination attempt: 11 get 20 years jail
[Dhaka Tribune] A Dhaka court has sentenced 11 people to 20 years’ imprisonment for attempting to assassinate Awami League President and incumbent Bangladesh Prime Minister the loathesome Sheikh Hasina
...Bangla dynastic politician and current Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She has been the President of the Bangla Awami League since the Lower Paleolithic. She is the eldest of five children of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangla. Her party defeated the BNP-led Four-Party Alliance in the 2008 parliamentary elections. She has once before held the office, from 1996 to 2001, when she was defeated in a landslide. She and the head of the BNP, Khaleda Zia show such blind animosity toward each other that they are known as the Battling Begums..
at her family residence in Dhanmondi, Dhaka 28 years ago.

The convicts, all members of Bangladesh Freedom Party, were also sentenced to life-time imprisonment for hurling bombs at the Dhandmondi Road 32 residence of Hasina’s father and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 11, 1989.

Judge Md Zahidul Kabir of Dhaka Fourth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court issued the verdict on Sunday.

The convicts were fined Tk20,000 each in both the cases and an additional six months in prison in case of default.

The accused include Najmul Maksud Murad, Lt Col Khandaker Abdur Rashid, Gulam Sarwar Faruk alias Mamun, Joj Miah, Freedom Sohel, Gazi Imam Hossain, Khandaker Amirul Islam Kajol, Mizanur Rahman, Md Shahjahan Balu, Jafar Ahmed and Md Humayun Kabir.

One of the accused in the cases, Humayun Kabir, was acquitted as the charges against him were not proven at court.

Expressing satisfaction over the verdict, Public prosecutor Abdullah Abu said the attack was carried out in continuation of the brutal liquidation of Sheikh Hasina’s family that took place on August 15, 1975.

"They wanted to make the Awami League leaderless by killing Sheikh Hasina. The court has ensured their punishment and we are happy for that," he added.

A total of 12 witnesses testified before the court since the deposition recording began on August 27, 2009 in two cases on the attack.

According to the cases, seven or eight armed activists of Bangladesh Freedom Party, riding two three-wheelers, came to the residence of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Road 32 in Dhanmondi on August 11, 1989.

Forcing into the residence, the miscreants hurled grenades and shot up the building, where Hasina was staying at the time.

In retaliation, police members Habilder Jahirul Haque and Constable Zakir Hossain, who were stationed at the premises for security, shot up the attackers, who expeditiously departed at a goodly pace chanting slogans such as "Col Farooq Zindabad".

Later, Jahirul filed two cases with Dhanmondi cop shoppe under the Explosives Substances Act and the Penal Code.

On February 20, 1997, the then assistant superintendent of Criminal Investigation Department (CID),

Khalekuzzaman, who also investigated the cases, submitted charge sheets accusing 16 people.

The trial in the case began on July 5, 2009.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Sen. Susan Collins: Senate intel panel should recall John Podesta, Debbie Wasserman Schultz
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Sen. Susan Collins said Sunday that Perennial Presidential Campaigner Hillary Crooked Hillary Clinton
... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away...
campaign chairman John Podesta and Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz
...Congresswoman from Florida, the abrasive chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee. She has been a politician since 1992, and prior to that was in training as a political science major. Her primary accomplishment seems to be that she's Jewish...
"absolutely" need to be interviewed again by the Senate Intelligence Committee to talk about payments to a political firm that dug up dirt on President Trump last year.

"They absolutely need to be recalled," Mrs. Collins said on CBS’s "Face the Nation."

"It’s difficult to imagine that a campaign chairman, that the head of the DNC, would not know of an expenditure of this magnitude and significance. But perhaps there’s something more going on here. But certainly, it’s worth additional questioning of those two witnesses," said Mrs. Collins, Maine Republican.

Mr. Podesta and Mrs. Wasserman Schultz, who was the head of the Democratic National Committee last year before resigning over the summer, reportedly denied to congressional Sherlocks that they had any knowledge about an arrangement to pay the firm Fusion GPS for opposition research into Mr. Trump.

That firm was behind the infamous dossier compiled on Mr. Trump’s alleged connections with Russia, some of which has been disproven.

But The Washington Post reported last week that Marc Elias, a lawyer representing the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, did retain Fusion GPS to conduct research.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syrians fingered for shelling Skool in Damascus
BEIRUT/AMMAN: At least 11 civilians were killed and a school day violently interrupted amid intensive Syrian regime shelling of an opposition-held enclave north of the capital Damascus Sunday, sending panicked kindergarten children scurrying for shelter, opposition activists reported.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and the Eastern Ghouta Media Center said those killed in the Saqba and Hamouriyah districts include two women, one child and a media activist. The Ghouta Media center said the media activist worked for the local Al-Jisr TV.

In a video posted by the Ghouta Media Center, kindergarten children were seen running in the streets of Kfar Batna, another village in the area that was shelled. Panicked children were scattered in the small rural streets of the village, some in tears while others called out for their parents. Rescuers struggled to escort the children out of the area covered in a cloud of dust following the explosions.

The first-responders group in the Damascus suburbs, the Syrian Civil Defense, also known as the White Helmets, reported that two shells fell in a school in the center of the village, injuring several. Baraa Abdurrahman, a resident of Kfar Batna, said the shells fell in a street that has a couple of schools. He added that six were injured.

Eastern Ghouta, north of Damascus, is part of a de-escalation zone declared earlier this year in Syria. But violence amid a tight regime siege has persisted in the area, which has faced intense government shelling for four years.

Images of starving children and adults emerged from the Ghouta suburbs, one of the hubs of the 2011 uprising against President Bashar Assad’s rule, prompting UN officials to say the area is facing a humanitarian crisis.

In a related development, the regime forces, supported by Russian jets and Iranian-backed militias, escalated bombing of areas of Deir Ezzor still held by Daesh.

Former residents and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said there were heavy aerial strikes on eastern Syria’s largest city as troops pushed toward the Hay Al-Umal area, which overlooks some of the remaining militant-held neighborhoods where an estimated 1,500 civilians are trapped.

“The situation is catastrophic, there are families under the rubble and others who fled have no shelter,” said Sheikh Awad Al-Hajr, a tribal leader, referring to the plight of those remaining inside the city and in cities, towns and farms in the fertile strip along the Euphrates bordering Iraq.

Fighting and relentless airstrikes in Deir Ezzor province, the last stronghold of Daesh, have prompted tens of thousands of civilians to flee, former residents and aid workers say.

Earlier on Sunday, the Observatory said heavy clashes between regime’s forces and Daesh in Deir Ezzor city have killed at least 73 fighters in the last 24 hours

The monitor said the fierce fighting on Saturday killed at least 50 Daesh fighters, as well as 23 Syrian soldiers and pro-regime militiamen.

Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman said regime forces had captured two new neighborhoods and the municipal stadium.

Saudi poisonous gas behind Yemen's cholera epidemic: Official
[PRESSTV] A high-ranking Yemeni military official says Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
’s massive bombing campaign with poison gas is to blame for the humanitarian crisis and cholera epidemic in the conflict-plagued Arabian Peninsula country.

Yemen's army front man Brigadier General Sharaf Luqman said on Sunday that Saudi Arabia is the main culprit for the current cholera epidemic among Yemen's vulnerable population as Saudi fighter jets continue to spread biological agents in the air, which subsequently contaminate water supply systems.

Luqman further described Yemen’s cholera outbreak as a "bio-terrorism plot" hatched by the United States, Saudi Arabia and the Zionist regime of Israel.

He stressed that the outbreak of highly contagious diseases, especially cholera, is directly related to the Saudi regime’s aerial bombardment campaign.

The senior Yemeni military official went on to say that Saudi warplanes have on occasions released poisonous gases, which mix with the surrounding air, come down in the form of rain and cause groundwater pollution at last.

China-Japan-Koreas
Secretive US agency who monitor Kim Jong-un reveal HOW North Korea can BLITZ California
[Express] A SECRETIVE US watchdog that monitors North Korean missile tests has revealed for the first time how Kim Jong-un could obliterate the US mainland.

North Korea has the capability to strike any state in the US according to a leading American commander who heads up a secretive military monitoring centre.

The man in charge of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) revealed for the first time how officials who work there monitor North Korea missile tests 24/7.

Engineers, photo experts, and intelligence analysts at the Ohio air base pour through satellite information for impending weapon tests - and analyse the results from missile launches.

It comes amid escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula, as the US Defence Secretary yesterday admitted the chance of a North Korean nuclear strike was "accelerating".

Colonel Sean Larkin, who heads up the NASIC programme, told CBS that North Korea is well equipped to hit any state of the US mainland.

He said: "The missile tests this summer have demonstrated the ability that they could reach the US."

When asked if this would put any state in particular danger, the US military leader was unequivocal: "All 48 states on the mainland."

Colonel Larkin admitted that the if positioned in a standard trajectory, the missiles launched in July could have blitz California.

In a shocking computer stimulation of the North Korean ICBM, researchers at NASIC revealed how Kim Jong-un is within touching distance of ordering a nuclear blast on the US west coast.

Col. Larkin revealed the only piece of the puzzle missing from a nuclear North Korea was a re-entry vehicle that could withstand the heat of plunging back into the planet's atmosphere.

Researchers at NASIC believe North Korea is determined to develop such a re-entry vehicle, as revealed in photos of tests last year.

As a result, US President Donald Trump has admitted that unless the US can confirm whether or not Kim Jong-un's regime has developed such capabilities, he may order a preventative strike against the regime.

Russians launch airstrikes in Idlib
Idlib (Syria News) Local sources informed, on Friday, that eight persons were either killed or wounded in the explosion of missiles that were dropped earlier during a Russian air strike on the countryside of Idlib Syria, Qasioun News reported on Saturday.

The sources revealed that a rocket, from the remnants of a Russian air strike that was conducted earlier, exploded in the village of Badriyah, in the countryside of Idlib, while the civil defense team was trying to dismantle it, killing two persons and wounding six others.

The remnants of the explosion, especially the shells, were scattered in the majority of areas in Idlib Province, as a result of the heavy air raids that were carried out by the Russian and Syrian Air Force, leaving several civilian casualties.

It is noteworthy that Russian troops, including Air Force and Navy fleets, are joining the ongoing battles in Syria, to back up the Syrian regime in its war against the Islamic State and opposition forces, based on an official appeal from the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to Russia.

75 ISIS Bad Guys die in 2 days in Anbar

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Over seventy Islamic State militants were killed, while thirty-three regions and villages were liberated during the past two days in western Anbar, the Joint Operations Command said.

In a statement on Saturday, “the regions liberated included al-Hasa, water station in al-Hasa complex, al-Shirwaniya, al-Tazaliya, al-Zallah, al-Awani and villages of Leheiba, al-Nazwa, and al-Saadiya village, stretching along 56 kilometers.”

Troops at the southern axis, according to the statement, “combed Ajbab train station, Ajbab village, northern Jibab, the cement factory, Qaim train station, train maintenance workshop, Ekaz gas station, al-Masharee’ region, stretching along 119 kilometers.”

More regions were liberated by army troops, backed by al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces)

“Seventy-five militants were killed, nine booby-trapped vehicles were destroyed,” it said, adding that over 300 bombs were defused, three headquarters and four booby-trapping workshops were destroyed. Seven weapon stashes were destroyed.

The command said troops are still advancing to achieve targets in western Anbar.

The Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi announced on Thursday the launch of operations to liberate Qaim and Rawa towns.

ISIS Big Turban, 6 others smoked in Iraqi airstrike near Qaim

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Islamic State military official and six of his companions have been killed in aerial shelling in west of Anbar, a paramilitary official said.

Qatari al-Samarmad, a commander at the Mobilization forces in Anbar, was quoted saying on Sunday as saying that “Iraqi jets shelled an IS haven in central Qaim, west of Anbar, leaving Ra’ed al-Atouri, the military official of Qaim, and six of his companions killed.

“Targeting Atouri, who is considered close to the supreme leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, came as information indicated his presence in the haven,” he added.

The jets, according to Samarmad, “intensified shelling of the group’s hideouts in Qaim, while security troops are tightening control on strategic regions.”

Joint Operations Command airdropped, earlier on the day, more than one million leaflets urging IS militants to turn in themselves.

Many IS militants reportedly fled Qaim heading to al-BuKamal in Syria, after several leaders ran away and were killed in airstrikes by the Iraqi and U.S.-Coalition jets.
