ESPN Lost 15,000 Subscribers A Day In October
[ZeroHedge] ESPN’s decision to suspend host Jemele Hill last month after her second violation of the company’s social media policy (she tweeted that people should boycott advertisers of the Dallas Cowboys after its owner sided with President Trump) did little to stanch the steady bleed of paying customers that is threatening the erstwhile "World Leader in Sports."

As Breitbart reported, the troubled cable sports channel lost 480,000 paying subscribers last month - or about 15,000 a day. The loss coincided with Trump’s battle with professional sports over whether leagues should punish players for kneeling during the national anthem - a battle that Trump appears to be winning.

Trump Praises Tucker After He Slams FBI For Incompetence [VIDEO]
[Daily Caller] Tucker Carlson laid out a number of reasons to distrust the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Fox News Thursday, earning the praise of President Donald Trump.

Tucker began by talking about the seemingly incompetent investigation of the Las Vegas mass shooting.

Of the investigation, The Daily Caller co-founder said, "The people running this case don’t really know what they’re doing. You hate to conclude something like that, but it’s becoming hard not to, especially when you consider the Las Vegas case in its larger context."

Carlson mentioned other examples of FBI incompetence, including the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s emails.

He stated, "Speaking of emails, the FBI never examined the DNC’s email server after it was supposedly hacked. Instead they just accepted the claim of a private contractor hired employed by the Democratic Party that the hacking was the work of the Russian government. Why didn’t one of the bureau’s many tech teams conduct its own investigation of a matter this important and politically sensitive?"

McCain Aide Who Handled Trump Dossier Is Accused Of Dodging Subpoena In BuzzFeed Lawsuit
[Daily Caller] Lawyers for a Russian tech executive suing BuzzFeed for publishing the Steele dossier say that a longtime associate of Arizona Sen. John McCain and two major news outlets are resisting subpoenas seeking their depositions for the case.

In a brief filed in federal court late Wednesday, lawyers for the executive, Aleksej Gubarev, claim that David Kramer, a former State Department official and McCain associate, "has been seemingly avoiding service" of a deposition subpoena for weeks.

And The New York Times and Wall Street Journal are challenging deposition subpoenas they have been served as part of the case.

#3  Having had some recent experience with this kind of situation, I can tell you that it is no small task for someone to intentionally avoid ("evade" is the more appropriate word) service of process.

There are remedies available to the serving party; ranging from hiring a private investigator to track down the receiving party to appealing to the court for other means of service (e.g. serving via certified mail, email, or even Facebook has been allowed in some cases).

While evading service of process obviously raises the cost to the serving party-- one might argue that is the intent of the party evading service, in whole or in part-- in many, if not most, instances the receiving party can be compelled by the court to reimburse the serving party for any expenses associated with the service of process; assuming the serving party has done a sufficient job documenting all of their service attempts as well as providing any supporting evidence demonstrating the receiving parties efforts to evade it.

In my own experience as the serving party, one of the defendants in the case was able to evade service of process for almost 3 months. This particular defendant went to great lengths in doing so, even not showing up to work during almost that entire time.

We were well prepared to appeal to the court for other means of service when the private investigator we had hired was finally able to track them down and serve them, despite this defendant denying their own identity at the time they were confronted by the investigator (talk about looking guilty!). You can be sure the judge will find out about that last part.

IDF raids two Palestinian gun workshops, confiscates lathes
[IsraelTimes] 17 enjugged in overnight operations throughout West Bank; two Jerusalem teens held for Molotov cocktailing parked car

IDF soldiers raided two workshops in the West Bank early Thursday morning that the army said were used to manufacture firearms.

Troops from the Etzion and Yehuda brigades, working with the Shin Bet security service, sealed the workshops in Hebron and confiscated five lathes belonging to the two Paleostinians, a father and son, who owned one of the shops.

For the past year and a half, the IDF has been cracking down on the black market for guns in the West Bank. The army has focused its attention on local weapons production, specifically the manufacturing of Carlo-style submachine guns, a jury-rigged gun cobbled together out of water pipes and parts from other guns.

Elsewhere in the West Bank, the army enjugged
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
15 desperados, including 11 who are suspected of involvement of throwing rocks or taking part in violent protests, according to the military.

Also Thursday, two teenagers were arrested in East Jerusalem on suspicion of throwing Molotov cocktails at a parked car.

The two, aged 18 and 19, from the neighborhood of A-Tur, allegedly threw the Molotov cocktails at an Israeli vehicle that was parked in the area. There were no injuries but the car was damaged.

Brother of French Jewish school shooter gets 20 years for terror ties
[IsraelTimes] Abdelkader Merah convicted of terrorist conspiracy, but cleared of helping brother Mohammed carry out 7 Toulouse shootings including 3 Jewish children

The older brother of a French jihadist who rubbed out seven people in Toulouse
...lies on the banks of the River Garonne, half-way between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The Toulouse metropolitan area is the fourth-largest in La Belle France...
in 2012, including three Jewish children, was given a 20-year jail sentence Thursday for being part of a terrorist conspiracy.

Abdelkader Merah was however cleared of having a direct hand in his brother Mohammed’s killing of three soldiers and terror attack on a Jewish school, where he bumped off a rabbi, two of the rabbi’s children, aged three and five, and an eight-year-old girl.

The trial was the first arising out of a wave of violence by mostly homegrown radical Islamists that has claimed the lives of more than 240 people in La Belle France in the past five years.

Mohammed Merah’s March 2012 terror attack on Ozar Hatorah school, which he carried out in the name of al-Qaeda, was the deadliest on Jews in La Belle France in three decades.

Over the course of his eight-day killing spree, the 23-year-old also rubbed out three soldiers in the garrison town of Montauban before being killed by police after a 32-hour siege at his home.

His 35-year-old brother and mentor Abdelkader, who had nurtured his interest in jihad and defended the killings, was tossed in the calaboose
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
shortly afterwards on charges of complicity.

But while admitting to having been present when his brother stole the scooter he used in the attacks, Abdelkader denied any knowledge of his intentions.

His conviction on the separate charge of being part of a terrorist conspiracy was seen nonetheless by the victim’s families as a victory.

"Justice has been served," Patrick Klugman, lawyer for the family of slain rabbi Jonathan Sandler said.

A second defendant, Fettah Malki, who supplied Mohammed Merah with a machine gun and a bullet-proof vest, was given a 14-year sentence after also being found guilty of involvement in a terrorist conspiracy.

From petty crime to terrorism
The trial lifted the lid on a dysfunctional family living on the margins of society in the high-rise Toulouse suburb of Les Izards.

Three of the five children born to Algerian immigrant parents, who later divorced, came under the spell of radical Islamists.

Both Abdelkader and Mohammed spent time in prison for acts of delinquency ‐ an experience that radicalized the younger Merah and left him thirsting for Dire Revenge against La Belle France.

In 2011, he traveled to the lawless tribal regions of Pakistain near the border with Afghanistan to join the Qaeda-affiliated Jund al-Khalifa.
...or Soldiers of the Caliphate, this is one of several groups by that name, the others being based in Algeria (sworn to ISIS) and Kazakhstan. More about this one can be read here...
Returning to La Belle France, he was questioned by intelligence services but insisted his trip had been solely for tourism.

Prosecutors had presented Abdelkader as the real brains behind the attacks and called for him to be given life in prison, without possibility of parole for 22 years.

But Merah’s lawyers urged the jury not to make him a scapegoat for his brother’s crimes to satisfy the public desire for a conviction.

Iraq
Kurds offer joint border deployment as Iraq threatens to resume military operations
[AlAhram] Iraq's Kurdistan region said on Thursday it has offered a joint Kurdish-Iraqi deployment at a strategic crossing into The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
, with the participation of the U.S.-led coalition that was helping fight Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) turbans.

The offer was disclosed hours after Iraqi armed forces accused the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) of delaying the handover to Iraq of control of the borders with Turkey, Iran and Syria, and threatened to resume operations to capture Kurdish-held areas.

The KRG defence department said the offer was part of a "deconfliction" proposal made to the Iraqi government on Oct. 31.

The other points included a ceasefire on all fronts, continued cooperation in the fight against IS and a joint deployment in so-called disputed territories, which are areas claimed by both the KRG and the Iraqi central government.

The KRG "continues to welcome a permanent ceasefire on all fronts, deconfliction and the start of a political dialogue" with Baghdad, the Kurdish statement said.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi ordered economic and military retaliation after Iraqi Kurds voted for independence in a referendum held in September that Baghdad declared illegal. He insists that the KRG cancel the referendum's outcome as a pre-condition for any dialogue. Iran and Turkey back his measures against Iraq's Kurds, fearing the drive for independence will spread to their own Kurdish populations.

The joint deployment at the strategic Fish-Khabur crossing was meant "as a goodwill gesture and trust-building exercise that ensures a limited and temporary arrangement until an agreement is reached in accordance with the Iraqi Constitution", the Kurdish statement said. Fish-Khabur is strategically important for the Kurdistan region because it is the point where its oil pipeline crosses into Turkey.

Iraq's entire land border with Turkey is located inside the Kurdish autonomous region and has been controlled by the Kurds since before the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003.

Abadi declared a pause on Friday in an offensive that began on Oct. 16 to take over the disputed areas. The oil-rich city of Kirkuk fell on the same day without much fighting.

The Iraqi Joint Operations Command accused the KRG on Wednesday of using the talks that started on Friday to "buy time" to strengthen Kurdish lines.

"We will not allow it; the federal forces are mandated to secure (the disputed) areas and borders," it said in a statement.

The Kurdish Peshmerga command also accused Iraqi forces on Wednesday of massing weapons and threatening force to resolve "domestic political differences".

Iraqi troops set up positions between Ottoman Turkish and Iraqi Kurdish checkpoints on Tuesday at the Habur border crossing, between the Ottoman Turkish town of Silopi and the Iraqi town of Zakho.

That meant vehicles crossing the border were subject to three separate checks. Eight members of Turkey's security forces and five Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) Lions of Islam were killed in a clash early on Thursday near the border between northern Iraq and southeast Turkey, Ottoman Turkish security and hospital sources said.

The PKK launched a separatist insurgency in 1984 and more than 40,000 people have been killed in the conflict.

Iraq wants control of Kurdish region's oil exports: State firm
Nothing new about them wanting it, but now they can enforce their desire.
[AlAhram] Iraq wants the Kurdistan region to stop independent crude exports and to hand over sales operations to the Iraqi state-oil marketer SOMO, the company's director said on Thursday.

Iraq is talking to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
to allow SOMO to sell the Kurdish crude that arrives by pipeline in Ceyhan, the Ottoman Turkish terminal on the Mediterranean, acting SOMO director general Alaa al-Yasiri told news hounds in Baghdad.

About 530,000 barrels per day (bpd) used to arrive in Ceyhan via the pipeline until mid-October, of which about half came from the Kurdistan Regional Government's oilfields and the rest from Kirkuk,
... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time...
a disputed province claimed by both the Kurdish region and Iraqi authorities in Baghdad.

Output from Kirkuk fell in mid-October, when Iraqi forces took back control of the northern region's oilfields from Kurdish fighters who had been there since 2014.

Kurdish Peshmerga forces deployed in Kirkuk in 2014, when the Iraqi army fled in the face of an advance by Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) murderous Moslems. The Kurdish move prevented the murderous Moslems taking control of the oilfields.

The pipeline carried on average 419,000 bpd in October, down from 600,000 bpd in September, said Farid al-Jadir, the director general of North Oil Company, which operates Kirkuk.

NOC should resume exports from Kirkuk through the Kurdish pipeline this month, after the two sides agree on terms of use, Yasiri said. Kirkuk would also export by tanker trucks about 15,000 bpd to the refinery of Kermanshah in Iran, he added.

Yasiri expected an old pipeline that bypasses most of the Kurdistan region to resume operation in three months.

The pipeline was severely damaged by Islamic State (IS) after it took over djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
's Nineveh province in 2014. U.S.-backed Iraqi forces ousted the group from Mosul in July, after a nine-month campaign supported by Kurdish Peshmerga fighters.

Iraq, the second-largest producer of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries after Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, supported any future decision by the group to support oil prices, Yasiri said.

OPEC is expected to extend curbs on oil output when it meets in Vienna at the end of month.

Israel denies request to recover Hamas terrorists’ bodies from tunnel
[IsraelTimes] Defense Ministry demands progress on Israelis held in Gazoo before five bodies believed to be under rubble can be extracted

Israel on Thursday said that until there is progress toward releasing Israeli citizens and remains of IDF soldiers held in Gazoo by Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",, it will not allow the terror group to retrieve the bodies of gunnies thought to have been buried under rubble when the military destroyed a cross-border attack tunnel on Monday.

Hamas said it believes five bodies are still inside the tunnel near the Israeli border, which was being built by the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
terror group extending from the Gazook city of Khan Younis into Israeli territory, near Kibbutz Kissufim. The IDF blew up the tunnel in Israeli territory.

Hamas reportedly asked the International Committee of the Red Thingy to coordinate with Israel to allow its men to enter the Gazoo-Israel buffer security zone and search for the missing bodies within the tunnel.

Major General Yoav Mordechai, head of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, the Israeli Defense Ministry branch that liaises with the Paleostinians on civil and security affairs, said that he refused a request by the ICRC to search for the missing bodies in the tunnel.

According to a statement by COGAT, Mordechai told the head of the ICRC delegation in Gazoo, Jacques de Maio, that "Israel will not allow search operations in the area of the security barrier in the Gazoo Strip without progress on the issue of Israelis kidnapped and MIAs."

Hamas still holds bodies of Israeli soldiers killed during the 2014 war in the Strip, and has refused requests from Israel and the ICRC to return them to their families. It is also believed to be imprisoning three mentally unstable Israeli citizens ‐ Avraham Mengistu, Hisham al-Sayed and Juma Abu Anima ‐ all of whom are believed to have entered the Strip of their own volition.

The families of the soldiers, along with several Israeli politicians, said that Israel should not accede to Hamas’s request without a reciprocal deal to return their loved ones’ bodies.

"We hope that the Israeli government will not dare to comply with Hamas’s request as long as they do not return Oron," said the family of soldier Shaul Oron. "Oron was kidnapped through a tunnel that Hamas dug, and for more than three years has been held by them in Gazoo, and yet they do not allow the Red Thingy to check on his condition."

Seven Paleostinian gunnies ‐ including two senior Paleostinian Islamic Jihad commanders and two members of Hamas’s elite naval unit ‐ were killed as result of the tunnel’s kaboom on Monday, and 12 others were maimed, Gazoo’s Health Ministry said.

The IDF suspects the missing diggers were working in the stretch of the tunnel that is inside Israeli territory.

According to Israeli and Paleostinian assessments, most of the Paleostinians who died in the attack tunnel were not killed from the initial blast, but died in its aftermath, from smoke inhalation, secondary kabooms, and collapses.

[AlAhram] Egypt's security forces killed five gunnies on Thursday who were attempting to attack a checkpoint in the border North Sinai region, where the military is fighting an Islamist insurgency, the military said in a statement.

A group of "armed terrorist elements" shot up security forces stationed at the checkpoint, who returned fire, forcing the button men to flee and hide.

Air forces pursued the gunnies and launched air strikes, killing five and injuring six others. Two 4x4 vehicles and two buildings where the button men were hiding were also destroyed.

Egypt pays off last installment of 2012 loan from Turkey
Interactions will be different afterward, one hopes.
[AlAhram] Egypt has paid off the final installment, worth $200 million, of a loan borrowed from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
in 2012, said an Egyptian central bank official on Thursday.

Central bank deputy-governor Rami Aboul-Naga told Egyptian official news agency MENA the $1 billion loan was taken out under ex-president Mohammed Morsi in 2012.

Aboul-Naga stressed that Egypt had paid all the loan installments on time, saying the country's financial obligations have been fulfilled with no delays.

Two months ago, central bank governor Tarek Amer revealed that Egypt had paid $17 billion worth of foreign debts since floating its currency in November 2016. Amer also said Egypt would pay $8 billion more this year.
And in other economic news:
Egyptian expat remittances increase more than 17 percent since pound flotation

[AlAhram] Egyptian citizens abroad sent to Egypt a total of $16.3 billion in remittances between November 2016 ‐ when Egypt floated its currency ‐ and August 2017, registering a 17.35 percent increase compared to the same period the year before, according to official data revealed at the Industrial Investment Map in Cairo.

Teuta Grazhdani, the head of Egypt’s Labour Mobility and Human Development at the International Organization for Migration (IOM), said that this period saw a $2.4 billion increase in remittances.

The flotation of the Egyptian pound has unified exchange rates and diminished the black market, where foreign currency rates were much higher than in banks. Since the devaluation, many Egyptians have opted to send remittances through legal avenues.

Grazhdani said during the event, which aimed at promoting foreign investment in Egypt’s industrial sector and was hosted by Egypt's Ministry of Industry, that the remittances have exceeded revenues from the Suez Canal, tourism, and direct investment. She said that Egypt should make use of its expats’ experience, knowledge, and abilities to promote the country as an investment destination.

Grazhdani stressed that Egyptian expats have to be part of the economic development process, and should be empowered with the tools to do so, and their remittances should be used as capital for different industrial development projects in Egypt.

Around 9.4 million Egyptians live abroad out of a total population of 104.2 million.

Egypt is in constant need of foreign currency to buy basic foodstuffs and fulfill its international obligations.

The country’s foreign reserves registered $36.535 billion at the end of September 2017, hitting pre-2011 levels after years of political turmoil and terrorism brought it down to critical levels.

The country's foreign reserves, which stood at $16.41 billion at the end of October 2015, have been climbing since Egypt signed an agreement for a three-year $12 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in November 2017.

Israeli attack's target: A Syrian-Iranian industrial area
[Ynet] The Hisya industrial is home to joint Iranian-Syrian projects and Iranian companies, with ties to the Iranian government, such as Iranian car manufacturer Saipa. While it's yet unclear whether the attack's target had clear ties to Iran or Hezbollah, the Islamic Theocratic Republic certainly has a significant presence in the area.

The Hisya industrial area south of the Syrian city of Homs, which was attacked late Wednesday in an Arclight airstrike attributed to Israel, has been used over the past decade for joint projects of Iranian government companies and Syrian government and private companies, as part of the trade deals between the two countries, intelligence blog Intellitimes has learned.
Interesting photos at the link.
According to reports in the Arab world, the target of the attack was a military facility that may have been a rocket depot. Other reports claim the facility was a copper factory. It is yet unclear how the target of the attack is linked‐if at all‐to Iran or Hezbollah, but the industrial area nevertheless has strong ties to Tehran.

Among other things, the industrial area contains hangars belonging to Iranian car company Saipa, in which the Iranian government owns 48 percent of the stocks.

Saipa and its subsidiaries are controlled by the Industrial Development & Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO), a government-owned corporation that controls 117 Iranian companies and has been under US sanctions for a long time over its support of Tehran's missile program.

Saipa also owns 80 percent of SIVECO, a corporation owned by the Iranian government and a private Syrian company called Hmisho Trading Group. The Iranian-Syrian company's factory in the Hisya industrial area manufactures an Iranian version of Kia vehicles.

The industrial area contains other Iranian-owned factories manufacturing, among other things, plastic and glass. The glass fibers are used to produce optic fibers and fiberglass, which have different kinds of uses in the military industry, including in the development of aircraft and precision-guided missiles.

Duke of Cambridge Warns There Are Too Many People in the World
[Telegraph] Rapidly growing human populations risk having a "terrible impact" on the world, the Duke of Cambridge has warned.

The Duke said that as a result, wildlife was being put under "enormous pressure" and called for the issue to be addressed with renewed vigour.

His concerns echo those of his grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, who in 2011 advocated "voluntary family limitation" as a means of solving overpopulation, which he described as the biggest challenge in conservation.
If you feel compelled to reproduce, please try and keep within the family, or at least the Club.

Mercer: A Muslim Ban Won't Kill Americans -- Accepting Them Might
[WND] CNN’s Jake Tapper wanted to know if there was anything that could have prevented the murderous rampage, in Manhattan, by a Muslim immigrant who had been recruited to live in America for no good reason. Once upon a time that was known as a rhetorical question. To ask the question would have been to answer it.

Broadcaster Mark Levin was no less obscurantist. You can’t bring certain individuals like the culprit, Uzbek Sayfullo Saipov, into the U.S. because ... of their governments, Levin raged on Fox News. There’s no way to vet individuals from chaotic countries with ineffective governments.

Sure, you can vet immigrants. Find out which faith they practice.

Mark should have said, "You can’t bring Muslims into the U.S. because of their faith. It predisposes them to violence," which is pretty much what President Donald J. Trump stated during his 2016 campaign.

The president’s first limited, immigration moratorium has expired. Let us hope that, following the murder-by-Muslim-immigrant of eight pedestrians along Manhattan’s West Side Highway ‐ Saipov ran them over in a rented pickup truck ‐ the president follows through, in the teeth of treasonous opposition, and expands the original "travel ban" beyond the six Muslim-majority nations to which it applied.

For a Muslim ban is neither illogical, immoral, nor un-libertarian.

#1  When you try to make sense like this the liberal response is inevitably along the lines of "What about the Las Vegas shooting? Isn't that terrorism?"

Yes, but this is an illogical argument. The flaw in the argument is that these are two separate problems. Linking the two problems, making them appear to be the same problem, serves no purpose other than to obfuscate and prevent a logical course of action. We have a readily available remedy for Islamic terrorism. Let's do what we can first about Islamic terrorists and then debate what to do about the domestic white boy terrorists.

Easy to be a moderate Muslim when surrounded by Muslims, dozens of whom you've known since from birth. Moving to a new society can mean anomie, dealt with by retreating into religion or the expatriate (from the old country) community. This guy went with religion. The problem for us is that his religion is Islam, which can be pretty murderous.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
What Team Soetoro didn't want you to know about the al Qaeda-Iran alliance
[New York Post] CIA Director Mike Pompeo has just released hundreds of thousands of documents, long withheld by the Obama administration, that were seized in the 2011 raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

There are no surprise revelations ‐ but they more fully document the years-long extensive cooperation between al Qaeda and Iran that was still ongoing when bin Laden met his end.

And that raises even more disturbing questions about the nuclear deal Team Obama cut ‐ and the real reason these documents weren’t disclosed until now.

Particularly a 19-page assessment by a senior jihadist of the Qaeda-Tehran ties: how Iran supplied "everything [we] needed," including "money, arms" and "training in Hezbollah camps in Lebanon," as well safe haven for other jihadis.

Yes, there were occasional conflicts and jealousies ‐ but not enough to sever the relationship, which bin Laden himself described as post-2001 al Qaeda’s "main artery for funds, personnel and communication."

The Obama White House had this information for nearly five years before negotiating the nuclear deal ‐ talks in which it refused to address Iran’s continuing sponsorship of terror even as it agreed to provide it with more than $100 billion in sanctions relief and hostage ransom payments.

Secretary of State John Kerry himself admitted that much of the money would go to supporting terrorist groups.

And that includes al Qaeda ‐ which, the documents show, was very much under bin Laden’s control until the moment a Navy SEAL team took him out.

To ensure passage of the nuke deal, did Obama and his CIA directors withhold anything that could undercut their claims about encouraging Iranian "moderates"?

It sure looks that way.

Economy
The Human Condition
[AccordingToHoyt] ...Yesterday just before going to bed, I read an article linked from Instapundit about poverty in the Appalachia. Of course, this meant I spent most of an unquiet night (yesterday was one of those days where real life and interruptions intervened to keep me from going for a walk or even using the treadmill ‐ by the time I had time to, I was dead on my feet. For some reason just walking around most of the day, but not an uninterrupted, full out, fast walk of three miles, doesn’t allow me to sleep well at night.) dreaming of buying land in that region. It was the line about violent crime being below national average and also the line about how cheap cost-of-living was.

...I have reasons to add some salt to it. First the characterization as a "White Ghetto" brings with it a whole lot of freight which the journalist should have been wary of and clearly wasn’t. Because of the title and leaving the correction about how low crime (other than welfare fraud) actually is, I imagined the images that "Ghetto" conjures: shootouts in the glades, women murdered in their houses... that sort of thing.

Turns out no. While it is inhabited by a bunch of welfare recipients, has almost no stores (this possibly to the lack of population density) and lacks opportunities for local employment, this region is not a hell hole of gang shootings and violent theft.

Which immediately makes it completely different, and far more desirable as an address, than any urban ghetto.

...Which brings us to what is wrong with the rest of the local population, and how to help them.

The first is obvious and is going to make me sound horribly heartless. The second... Ah the second is far more difficult.

The answer to the first is "There is nothing wrong. They are normal, sane humans."

And now you’re going to gibber at me about drug use and child neglect. And ‐ not here, but elsewhere ‐ someone is going to call for more federal money dumped into the place. They’ll call for more Head Start, more jobs programs. The left who ‐ with more than a bit of self flattery ‐ will flap gums about how our technological society is leaving people behind, how all these poor people simply aren’t SMART enough to make money and thrive in the new new technological world.

DIGRESSION

This flatters the left insanely because they clearly are "smart" enough to thrive in the new technological world. Lately in reading their stuff it’s all about power couples and marrying intelligent people and ‐ bah. They wouldn’t know intelligent people if one bit them in the arse. They are what in our school system were A students. These were never ‐ at least when I was going through school ‐ the actual SMART people (unless the smart people made a great deal of effort.) True geniuses tended to be odd. They dressed funny, sometimes had er... hygiene issues, and they had the confounded habit of correcting teacher. As such, they were heartily despised by all right thinking people, and usually managed Bs, unless they were really really smart, in which case they trolled the D/F region. In adulthood the geniuses I’ve known ‐ those functional enough to hold a job ‐ tend to hold jobs in convenience stores, fertilizer plants, or other menial positions where the fact they don’t dress fashionably and haven’t attended Harvard doesn’t matter.

This is why the beautiful people hold on to CREDENTIALS over accomplishments as signs of their specialness.

Which is why the "economy" the left is thriving on is a combination of glitz, glamour and valueless money printed at speed and of crony capitalism which devours the real substance of prosperity accumulated by our ancestors.

HERE ENDETH DIGRESSION

Part of the reason that even as the welfare model is collapsing all over the world, the left is hysterically seeking to bolster it is that they really think they are in a "With Folded Hands" future, where everything that "the little people" could do has been mechanized and therefore we should give the little people the means to survive and let them get stoned out of their minds, because, what else is there to do? Kill them? Oh, please, the left aren’t monsters. They just hold on to monstrous ideas. (Note I said "part of the reason" ‐ some of the left is doing this for the power, of course, and to create a neo-feudal society. But the rank and file of the evil party are not actually evil. They’re just human and know a lot of things that just ain’t so.)

(Is there a lack of work for uneducated/not particularly intellectual people? What, in the last 20 years? Show me where the advances in manufacturing/computing/etc put these people out of work. What is really happening is that our personal do-gooders have priced the US worker out of competition ‐ and it’s not even the minimum wage, an effort as sane as legislating air humidity, as the crazed and increasingly futile environmental and other regulations ‐ so the jobs have moved overseas. This will correct itself either when the other lands create a middle class that demands better treatment ‐ though they’re unlikely to demand crazy enviro regulations ‐ or when we hang the komissars with their own guts. Because as has been pointed out on this blog, there will always be need for the kind of mind that thrives on detailed, repetitive work, and which really really really doesn’t want to speculate about the causes of the Spanish-American war or read about Elizabethan England. Whether these minds are less able, I refuse to even consider, because look... I couldn’t do what my plumber ‐ or my hairdresser! ‐ does. I certainly couldn’t do what factory workers do. It would drive me as batty as for them to do what I do. Yeah, they test lower on IQ, a test designed to measure achievements of a certain kind. We’ll just say they have different types of mind and that, without interference, there would be work they could do.)

#1  It is true that many geniuses do not do well in the work world -- but there are certainly exceptions. OldSpook mentioned once that he has an IQ of 160, which puts him solidly in that category. He was a Special Forces master sergeant, comfortable talking to generals; the equivalent in the civilian world, it seems to me, is a technical track team leader in a large company.

I also know two who are a stay-at-home husband and a housewife. Both perfectly clean, sweet-smelling, and well adjusted to the fact that they were not suited to the work world, supporting spouses who are very well suited, and happy to be freed from household concerns while they get on with their careers.

Germany 30,000 Rejected Asylum Seekers 'disappeared' In Germany, Tabloid Claims
[DW] The German government has admitted that it does not always know the whereabouts of rejected asylum seekers, but argues that the number doesn't tell the whole truth. The government's asylum agency faces a file backlog.

According to a report in Thursday's mass-circulation daily Bild, the government's Central Register of Foreign Nationals (AZR) counted around 54,000 people at the end of 2016 who were obligated to leave the country, but only around 23,000 were claiming state benefits in accordance with the law governing asylum applicants, according to numbers from the Federal Statistical Office.

An Interior Ministry spokesman told Bild, "It can't be ruled out that individuals obligated to leave the country documented in the foreign nationals register have already left the country or have disappeared without the relevant foreign nationals authority having been made aware of it, or reporting the fact to the AZR."

Berlin Police Instructor Claims Muslim Recruits ‘Enemy in Our Ranks' in Leaked Recording
[Breitbart] A leaked audio recording has revealed a Berlin police academy instructor talking about problems dealing with migrant recruits, saying that many have stolen items and threatened other officers with violence with the instructor calling them an “enemy in our ranks”.

The unidentified police instructor complained that many officers who come from migrant backgrounds, specifically from Turkish and Arabic origins, refuse to learn in the academy classrooms and some have trouble simply articulating or writing in German, Die Welt reports.

In the recording, which was confirmed to be authentic by the Berlin police on Wednesday, the instructor said: “I’ve never experienced anything like this, the classroom looked like hell, half Arabs and Turks, cheeky as hell. Stupid. Could not articulate. Two or three I had been close to knocking out because they only disturbed and literally slept. German colleagues have said that they were threatened with violence.”

The instructor added that he was “so shocked, and I’m really scared of them, and I think the trainers too because if they throw them out, they’ll be there and break everything”.

The future of the Berlin police force looks in jeopardy according to the instructor who said the migrant police officers would be “a second-class of police that will only be corrupt”.

“These are not colleagues, that’s the enemy. This is the enemy in our ranks and I have never felt such hostility in this class,” he added.

Police spokesman Thomas Neuendorf said that while he objected to the instructor’s tone, “He was clearly in an overwhelmed situation.”

According to sources within the police academy, the problems with migrant recruits is nothing new. The source said Turkish, Arab, and Afghan recruits “lack respect” and many refused to accept female officers with one student questioning why a female officer did not dress conservatively enough in her time off-duty.

Another issue has been that many individuals related to Arab clan criminal gangs have also been joining the forces. An official said that the police could not criticise those with a clean record but noted: “We know that with these people the family is above everything else.”

Arab clan gangs have also reportedly been recruiting asylum seekers in asylum homes to run low-level drug operations and the connection between the drug scene and the radical Islamist scene has authorities in the city concerned.

If an Islamist were to infiltrate the Berlin police, it would not be for the first time. Last year, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) arrested one of its own officers who was not only recruiting jihadists but plotting to bomb the agency headquarters in Cologne.

39 die in fighting between Turkish troops, Kurd Kommies
ANKARA: Clashes between Turkish security force members and Kurdish militants in three mainly Kurdish provinces in southeastern Turkey on Thursday killed eight security force members and 31 militants, officials said.

A skirmish erupted near the town of Semdinli, in the province of Hakkari that borders Iraq, after the security forces spotted a group of rebels who were allegedly preparing to launch an attack, the military said.

Six soldiers and two government-paid village guards aiding troops in the fight against the rebels were killed in the fighting.

An Interior Ministry statement said 19 rebels were killed in the clash as well as a wider, air power-backed operation launched to catch the militants.

Separately, nine rebels were killed in a clash in the province of Tunceli, while three others were killed in Sirnak province, the ministry said.

The rebels of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, have waged a three-decade-long insurgency in southeastern Turkey. The conflict has killed tens of thousands of people. The group is considered a terror organization by Turkey, the US and the EU.

Violence flared again in 2015 after the collapse of a two-year peace process.

In a speech in Ankara, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed to press ahead with operations against the PKK.

“We will continue our struggle against them, until these terrorists are annihilated and are gone,” Erdogan said.

The military said several rocket launchers, ammunition, hand grenades and an automatic rifle used by the rebels were seized during the operation near Semdinli.

Fighting breaks out in Wershiffana district
[Libya Observer] Fighting erupted in Wershiffana district in western Libya between local gangs and the forces led by commander of the western military zone, Osama Jowaili, who was appointed by the Presidential Council.

According to reports from Wershiffana and to statements from the district's Council of Elders, the festivities got intensified around the Checkpoint 60 in the district.

In the meantime, the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Council Abdelrahman al-Taweel denied knowing of the military operation led by the commander of the western region’s military zone.

Al-Taweel told a media outlet that he did not appoint any forces led by Jowaili and had no knowledge of whether he was appointed by the Presidential Council or not.

Ahmed Belwaer, a member of the Council of Elders, told local media in Libya that the district is awaiting, adding that the festivities caused huge material damage including two houses.

Meanwhile,
...back at the laboratory, Igor and Oleg were discussing what the quickest way might be to deal with the monster...
the Zintan Military Council called on all the residents of Wershiffana to stay away from the gatherings and military areas, emphasizing the need for avoiding taking to the streets or going out in the areas near the fighting.

Al-Mabrouk Bu Amid, the Head of the Social Council of the city, stated to the media that what is being plotted for Wershiffana by Zintani "militias" led by Osama Jowaili and by the blessing of the Presidential Council" aims at entering Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
"The claims that the operation is for defeating and eliminating criminals in Wershiffana is just a pretext for the looming war." He said.

He also explained, to al-Nabaa TV Channel, that the operation is carried out by mercenaries from Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement, who were recruited for the incident and led by the western military zone's commander.

Syria urges UN action after fresh Israeli airstrikes
[PRESSTV] Syria has written two letters to the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
, calling on the world body to take swift action against Israel's attacks on the Arab country.

In the letters addressed to the UN chief and the Security Council chairman, the Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Ministry complained on Thursday about a recent Israeli Arclight airstrike on a copper factory for civil industries in the town of Hassia in Homs Province.

The Syrian ministry urged the UN Security Council to take "strict and immediate" measures to stop Israeli attacks.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a pro-opposition monitoring group, claimed that Israeli warplanes had targeted an arms depot belonging either to the Syrian government or the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement.

A security directorate statement released on Thursday also said police seized 66 improvised bombs during the anti-IS operations conducted in 25 provinces across Turkey.

The statement said that of the alleged IS bully boyz caught, 96 are Ottoman Turkish citizens while 187 others are foreign nationals. It didn't provide information on their nationalities.

IS has been blamed for several deadly attacks in Turkey that killed more than 300 people since 2015.

Along with combating the Lion of Islam group's cells inside its borders, Turkey launched a military operation in northern Syria in August 2016 to clear a border zone of IS members after a deadly suicide kaboom targeted a wedding party.

Baghdad Bomb and Bullet Bulletin

1 reported dead in bombing attack in al-Rashidiya region

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Five persons were killed and injured in a bomb blast in northern Baghdad, a security source said on Thursday.

“A bomb exploded near stores in al-Rashidiya region, leaving one killed and four others wounded,” the source told Baghdad Today website.

Violence in the country has surged further with the emergence of Islamic State Sunni extremist militants who proclaimed an “Islamic Caliphate” in Iraq and Syria in 2014.

114 Iraqi civilians were killed, while 244 others were wounded as result of terrorism, violence and armed conflicts, according to a monthly release by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), issued on Wednesday.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Rep. DeSantis: ‘We Know Now Without a Shadow of a Doubt' Hillary and Democrats Colluded with Russia
[Breitbart] Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) spoke with Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Thursday regarding a proposed Mueller amendment to limit the special counsel investigation to between March 2015 and the present, and also tax reform in the House.
"We know now without a shadow of a doubt that the Democratic Party, Hillary Clinton, paid Fusion GPS and Steele to acquire this dossier, which required colluding with Russian operatives and Russian nationals. So, they produced this dossier and I believe, yesterday I called for the FBI, the Justice Department to declassify all the FISA applications involving Trump associates because what I think happened is, I think they used the information from this dossier to be able to get surveillance on Trump and his associates."

"And then the fruits of that," he continued, "formed the basis of what had been leaked to the press over the first three or four months of Trump’s White House."

DeSantis also discussed the Uranium One scandal and the pending tax reform bill in detail. The full audio is available below.
Emphasis added

If a dossier constructed by a foreign source ('former' British intelligence agent Christopher Steele) funded by the DNC, was used to harvest FISA warrants, the jig is up. Mueller's Trump-Russian efforts are now total rubbish.

This could possibly be why Mueller is now concentrating on Manafort's potential criminal activities well prior to the Trump candidacy. Mueller may be distancing himself from the 'fruits of the poison tree' hoping to take a few scalps elsewhere.

Mike Flynn is now sleeping well at night.

Southeast Asia
Over half a million Rohingya Muslims must return to Myanmar's Rakhine as citizens: UN
[PRESSTV] The head of the Office of the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) says Myanmar must grant citizenship to hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Moslems so that they can return to the Southeast Asian country, where they fled government-run violence against the persecuted minority group.

"These people cannot remain stateless because this statelessness exposes them to discrimination and abuse, as has been the case in the past," said Filippo Grandi at a presser after addressing the UN Security Council on Thursday.

More than 600,000 Rohingya Moslems have so far fled the predominantly-Buddhist Myanmar to neighboring Bangladesh since August 25, when the crackdown on the Rohingya intensified in Rakhine state.

The massive exodus of distressed Moslems in Rakhine has also altered the demographic status of the state, where the military and Buddhist mobs have since last year been attacking Moslem Rohingya civilians.

Many of those who have fled have recounted harrowing accounts of rape, murder, and arson at the hands of Myanmar’s forces and Buddhist mobs, in what has been branded "an ethnic cleansing campaign" against the Moslem minority group.

Estimates as to how many Moslems have been killed vary from 1,000 to 3,000.

"For people to go back and for this return to be sustainable, you need to address the very complex issue of citizenship," Grandi told news hounds during the presser, adding, "No return will be sustainable ... if that issue is not unblocked."

Russia censures ‘unprofessional’ UN report on Syria's gas attack
[PRESSTV] Russia has strongly criticized as "superficial and unprofessional" a recent United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
report blaming the Damascus government for a gas attack in a bad boy-held town in Syria’s northwestern province of Idlib back in April.

"We believe that the report turned out to be superficial, unprofessional and amateurish," the head of the Security and Disarmament Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry, Mikhail Ulyanov, said on Thursday, adding, "The mission did their research from a distance, which in itself is a scandal."

At least 87 people died in the April 4 purported gas attack on Khan Shaykhun, which Western countries blamed on the Syrian government.

Using the incident as a pretext, US warships fired 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles from two warships in the Mediterranean Sea at the Shayrat airfield in Syria’s central province of Homs on April 7. US officials claimed that the suspected Khan Shaykhun attack had been launched from the military site.

Hapilon's top aide killed in Marawi
[PhilStar] Two Maute gunmen were killed by Philippine troops as the military continued clearing Marawi City of stragglers from the IS-affiliated group.

Col. Romeo Brawner said troops caught up with the two terrorists in a gun battle inside the main battle area late Wednesday. Two soldiers were hurt in the encounter.

Brawner identified one of the slain gunmen as Abu Talja, believed to be the right hand man of slain Abu Sayyaf leader Isnilon Hapilon. The militants were trying to slip out through the tunnels to escape the area when troops chanced upon them, triggering the clash.

Brawner said the two stragglers appeared to be weak and malnourished, confirming claims by captured Indonesian militant Muhammad Ilham Syahputra. Brawner said, "The Indonesian said they are already weak for lack of food so they forage during the night, hoping to get something to eat."

Village watchmen arrested Syahputra while trying to escape last Wednesday. Syahputra said there are still 39 of them hiding in the labyrinth of tunnels dug by Maute militants inside the main battle area.

“But it’s possible there are still more than a dozen hiding inside,” Brawner said.

Syahputra confessed he arrived in the Philippines last year to join the Maute group on the invitation of Hapilon. The Indonesian fighter, from Medan, said his group was involved in a 2016 suicide attack that killed eight people in Jakarta that was claimed by IS.

Sources revealed the Indonesian militants went to Mindanao through General Santos City by boat. Sources also identified two of Hapilon’s other Indonesian companions as Savithri and Urdomo Hartono.

India-Pakistan
Haqqani network on top as US shares list of 20 terror groups with Pakistan
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The United States has shared a list of at least twenty terrorist groups with Islamabad which Washington insists use the Pak soil for the terrorist activities in Afghanistan and elsewhere, it has been reported.

Diplomatic sources have confirmed to the local news outlet Dawn News that the White House retains a list of 20 terrorist groups that the Trump administration claims are operating in Pakistain.

The sources further added that the list has reportedly been shared with Islamabad by Afghanistan and the United States.

In the meantime, reports indicate that the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has said the US and Pakistain had been engaged in "a very healthy exchange of information on terrorists" since his visit to Islamabad last week.

Tillerson has further added that further information will also be shared with Pakistain in the future to include information on "specific location on any given day of where certain individuals or certain cells may be located."

According to reports, the Haqqani terrorist network is on the top of the list shared with Islamabad as the US officials are saying that the network has safe havens in Fata and uses them to launch attacks into Afghanistan.

But the Pak officials reject the claims by Washigton and insist that no such safe havens exist in the country.

Added from Dawn:
Top on the list is the Haqqani network which, the United States claims, has safe havens in Fata and uses them to launch attacks into Afghanistan. Pakistan strongly rejects the charge, saying that there are no such safe havens inside the country.

Harakatul Mujahideen is a Pakistan-based militant group operating primarily in Kashmir. The US says that group had links to Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda as well.

Jaish-e-Mohammed operates mainly in Kashmir and the liberation of the Indian occupied Kashmir is its declared objective.

Jundullah is associated with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and was commanded by militant Hakimullah Mehsud, the Emir of TTP until his death in November 2013. It had vowed allegiance to the militant Islamic State group.

The United States identified Lashkar-e-Taiba as one of the largest and most active terrorist organisations in South Asia. Founded in 1987 by Hafiz Saeed, Abdullah Azzam and Zafar Iqbal in Afghanistan, the group had its headquarters in Muridke. It too is focused on Kashmir.

Lashkar-e-Taiba was involved in the 2001 Indian parliament attack and the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Lashkar-i-Jhanghvi, an offshoot of anti-Shia sectarian group Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan, was founded by former SSP activists Riaz Basra, Malik Ishaq, Akram Lahori and Ghulam Rasool Shah.

The US blames this group for committing hundreds of target killings and dozens of mass attacks inside Pakistan.

Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, an umbrella organisation of various militant groups, was based in Fata, but has now relocated to Afghanistan. The US says that the group wants to enforce its own interpretation of Sharia and plans to unite against Nato-led forces in Afghanistan. It has conducted hundreds of terrorist attacks inside Pakistan.

Other groups on the list are: Harakatul Jihadi-i-Islami, Jamaatul Ahrar, Jamaatud Dawa al-Quran and Tariq Gidar Group, which is one of 13 TTP affiliates. The Tariq Gidar Group has been behind some of the deadliest attacks inside Pakistan, including the Dec 16, 2014, massacre at the Army Public School in Peshawar that left 132 schoolchildren and nine staffers dead.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Commander Nazir Group, Indian Mujahideen, Islamic Jihad Union, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan ISIS-Khorasan, Al Qaeda in the Indian Sub-Continent and the Turkistan Islamic Party Movement are also on the list.

Butcher's Bill rises to 15 in Anbar fighting

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Two Iraqi soldiers and Islamic State militants were killed in confrontations that occurred as army attempted to break into the group’s stronghold in western Anbar, a military source was quoted saying.

“Fierce clashes broke out between Iraqi troops and militants as the forces attempted invading Qaim from the eastern side,” the source told DPA. “Iraqi troops face resistance by terrorists that hamper its advance toward the center of the town.”

“Thirteen militants and two soldiers were killed, while three others were wounded,” the source said adding that the killed and injured were taken to hospitals for treatment.

Earlier on the day, huge number of militants were killed as Iraqi fighter jets managed to shell an IS convoy, composed of ten vehicles, driven by the militants. All were destroyed as they attempted to escape from the town to Syria’s Al-BuKamal.

In a daily press briefing on Tuesday, Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi promised announcing liberation of Qaim within “few days”.

Material against Hafiz Saeed presented in camera
[DAWN] Attorney-General for Pakistain Ashtar Ausaf Ali on Wednesday presented ’sensitive’ documents before a judge of the Lahore High Court in his chamber to defend detention of Jamatud Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed
...who would be wearing a canvas jacket with very long sleeves anyplace but Pakistain...
Earlier, the AGP told the judge that the documentary material relied upon by the federal government to detain Mr Saeed was sensitive in nature and would not be appropriate to present in open court. He sought permission from the court to produce the relevant material in chamber and also requested it not to place the same on record of the case.

After Justice Syed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi allowed the request the AGP shared the documents with the judge in his chamber where Advocate Dogar was also present.

Prior to the chamber’s proceedings, an officer of ministry of interior told the court that the JuD chief were tossed into the calaboose in the light of reports and recommendations by intelligence agencies. The judge would resume hearing today (Thursday).

Challenging the detention of Hafiz Saeed, Advocate Dogar had contended that the government detained his client on the basis of mere apprehensions and hearsay. He argued that an order of preventive detention had to satisfy the requirements laid down by the Supreme Court in its many judgments but in the instant case sheer violation of laws had been committed by the government.

He said imprisonment without trial and conviction was prima facie unlawful and unconstitutional.

A provincial review board had approved an application of the government seeking extension in the detention of Mr Saeed for another 30 days starting from Oct 25. However,
it's easy to be generous with someone else's money...
the board did not allow further detention of four other JuD leaders.

Russia’s Rosatom to bid in 16 Saudi nuclear plants
[PRESSTV] Russia's state-owned nuclear technology giant Rosatom is ready to construct as many as 16 modern nuclear reactors in Soddy Arabia

The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, if the oil-rich kingdom ever decides to hold a tender, Russia’s top energy official says.

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak made the announcement on Thursday, after meeting Saudi King Salman

bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Riyadh to discuss global oil prices.

"The nuclear industry is an important part of our cooperation," Russia’s RT TV network quoted Novak as saying at an intergovernmental commission meeting on Thursday. "Rosatom could take part in the creation of a nuclear cluster in Saudi Arabia, including the construction of 16 modern nuclear reactors."

Russia and Saudi Arabia have recently signed an agreement on energy and climate. They have also inked a memorandum of understanding and cooperation in the energy sector.

According to Novak, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) were considering investing in more than 20 projects worth over $10 billion. The two sides had already spent more than $1 billion on nine joint projects.

Syrian forces liberate more districts in Dayr al-Zawr city
[PRESSTV] Syrian army soldiers and allied fighters have managed to wrest control over three more neighborhoods in the eastern city of Dayr al-Zawr in their latest push against ISIS terrorists.

Syria’s official SANA news agency announced the recapture of the al-Jbiliah, al-Abed, al-Jamaiat districts on Thursday.

A Syrian military source told SANA that the army units had inflicted heavy losses on terrorists’ ranks and equipment.

Earlier reports said the Syrian troops had "tightened the siege" on ISIS Lions of Islam in in Dayr al-Zawr city while the takfiri

Meanwhile,

the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) confirmed the government forces’ gains in Dayr al-Zawr, the capital of the oil-rich province of the same name.

The UK-based monitoring group said ISIS now controlled less than five percent of the city amid advances by pro-Damascus fighters under Russia’s air cover.

If the Syrian government forces "succeed in continuing this offensive, they could bring an end to IS (ISIS)'s presence (in the city) in hours or days," the SOHR added.

Government
Ruby Ridge, Waco, and the swamp
[American Thinker] As one alternate juror put it, "I felt like a little kid that finds out there is no Santa Claus." This was the remark of one citizen who observed testimony and other evidence arising from the 1992 Ruby Ridge incident, in which an innocent woman and her 14-year-old son were ambushed and gunned down by federal agents over what was, at worst, a minor infraction that could easily have been remedied without violence.

Then, in the following year, the Waco incident proved, once again, that there is no government Santa Claus. Seventy-six men, women, and children were killed in a fire started by the improper use of tear gas by federal agents after four of the agents were killed trying to gain forced entry to the building housing the targeted cult members. Yet the cult leader could easily have been arrested in prior days, when he had voluntarily visited the federal office to which he had been summoned.

Years later, I am finding the same childlike reaction expressed by the juror in myself with regard to the massive and pervasive corruption in Washington, D.C. that is slowly being revealed in the Uranium One scandal, and in the Mueller probe aimed at destroying the presidency of Donald Trump. There is no Santa Claus, no honesty in government.

What was demonstrated by the Ruby Ridge and Waco events is that government is like fire: necessary in its place and dangerous when it breaches its containment.

Until recently, I had always been convinced that however corrupt the government is, at least there are honesty and integrity in the upper reaches of law enforcement. My faith had been tested, but not shattered, when what I considered to be a few rogue officers went berserk and slaughtered the aforementioned innocent Americans in an abuse of power.

Now I understand that the problem is vastly worse than my worst fears had ever led me to believe. We are faced not with a few renegade cops, but with ensconced corruption almost beyond imagining.

Pardon the reference to the NFL team owner who said that we "can't have the inmates running the prison," but in fact, we now have criminals running the government.

It's only when things finally crashed enough to hurt in 2007 that people started to take notice of these things again. terrorist group in Syria’s eastern province of Dayr al-Zawr for the second day in a row.

According to a statement by the Russian Defense Ministry on Thursday, the large bombers struck ISIS targets, including command centers, weapon depots and fortified areas, in the town of al-Bukamal, located in the vicinity of Syria’s common border with Iraq, where the Syrian forces are making territorial gains against the terrorists.

The Thursday strike was "carried out in order to support the Syrian government forces to crush ISIS terrorists," added the statement, carried by the TASS news agency. The aerial raid on terrorists’ positions in the war-torn country was commenced on Wednesday, after the long-range bombers flew over Iran and Iraq to reach the designated targets near the border town.

The statement said that the bombers returned safely to their bases in Russia after destroying an unspecified number of terror targets, adding that the planes were covered with a number of Su-30SM fighter jets from the Russia-run Hmeimim air base in Syria's western coastal province of Latakia during the operation.

In September, Syrian government forces, backed up by Russia’s Arclight airstrikes, reached Dayr al-Zawr on the Euphrates River, breaking a three-year terrorist siege on the city and a nearby air base.

Oil Minister Jabar al-Luaibi told news hounds in the capital Baghdad on Thursday that army troops had captured the Akkas gas field, which produces natural gas and condensate.

The total proven reserves of the field are estimated to be around 5.6 trillion cubic feet, and production reportedly stands at around 400 million cubic feet per day. The field is operated by Korea Gas Company (KOGAS) and is located in western Anbar province near the Syrian border.

Development of Iraq's Akkas gas field stopped ISIS bully boyz seized swathes of land in Anbar in May 2014.

KOGAS halted development operations following multiple attacks by bully boyz against the company's sites in the field.

Iraqi oil ministry officials have said that they have plans to send a crew to Akkas gas field to assess damages to its energy production facilities.

"We will make a field visit to write a report about the damages and what we need to bring back the field online as soon as possible," said Mohammed Ibrahim, an engineer who is a member of an oil ministry team supervising Akkas.

"Those responsible must answer for their heinous crimes," said United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad al-Hussein.

On July 10, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi formally declared victory over ISIS murderous Moslems in Mosul, which served as the terrorists’ main urban stronghold in the conflict-ridden Arab country.

Erdogan ousts Turkey's mayors in hope of poll boost
[DAWN] Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First

...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
's big-city mayors, in a purge of local officials designed to shore up support for his ruling party.

In a fast-moving and sometimes ruthless chain of resignations, four top city mayors have stepped down at Erdogan's request, paying the price for the ruling party's somewhat lacklustre performance in the April referendum on constitutional change.

Analysts say that after 15 years in power, the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) of Erdogan is genuinely worried about its level of support ahead of a critical election year in 2019.

"The dismissals of the mayors are for different reasons but it's all with the aim of improving the electoral position of the party," Ilter Turan, a professor of political science at Istanbul's Bilgi University, told AFP.

"The party is in a quandary as to why is it losing votes. The erosion of support was evident in the referendum.

"The president is trying to develop ways to turn the electoral tide around," he said.

Earlier, army units tightened noose on ISIL terrorists in al-Hamidiyeh, Sheikh Yasin, al-Hawiqa and al-Rashdia neighborhoods in Deir Ezzor, amid large collapse in their ranks, according to SANA reporter.

The reporter added that army units restored control over the Public Park, Nour Hospital after violent clashes with ISIL terrorists.

In a desperate attempt to obstruct the progress of the army units, ISIL terrorists have sent suicide women to the army posts, where the army frustrated their attempts before reaching to their goal.

On al-Bokamal axis, army units intensified their operations on ISIL dens and fortifications, inflicting them heavy losses in personnel and equipment.

Units of the Syrian Arab Army established control over three villages in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo.

Plague epidemic kills 127 lives in Madagascar, more than 1,000 affected: WHO
[PRESSTV] A plague epidemic in Madagascar has killed 127 people since August, while the number of pulmonary cases is starting to decline across the country, says the World Health Organization.

WHO said in an October 31 report that a total of 1,111 cases were clinically classified as pulmonary plague, the deadliest form of the disease, while 261 were bubonic plague.

Plague is endemic in Madagascar, but the outbreak that has caused 1,801 suspected cases since August is especially worrying because it started earlier in the season than usual and has hit urban rather than rural areas.

The outbreak has hit the island's two main cities Antananarivo and Toamasina the hardest, authorities said last week.

Doctors Without Borders has set up a plague triage and treatment center in Toamasina where they say patients infected with the disease will no longer be contagious after four days of treatment.

6 die in airstrikes in Douma
DOUMA, Syria: Syrian regime airstrikes killed at least six civilians, including a baby, in opposition-held town outside the capital Damascus on Thursday, a monitor and local medics said.

The strikes hit the town of Douma, which lies in the Eastern Ghouta region, where a “de-escalation zone” deal agreed by regime allies Iran and Russia and rebel backer Turkey has been in place since July.

At a medical facility, an AFP photographer saw the bodies of at least two people killed in the strikes, as well as adults and children being treated for their wounds by harried medical staff.

Despite the truce deal, there has been an uptick in government bombardment on Eastern Ghouta in recent days.

Humanitarian groups have also warned of a malnutrition crisis in the area, which is under a tight government siege.

“Regime planes fired rockets on several parts of Douma,” said Rami Abdel Rahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based monitor.

“Six civilians were killed, including a child,” he said, adding that 21 others were wounded.

At the medical facility, two bodies were lying on beds, each covered in a bright yellow sheet.

Medics worked to treat the wounded, including 13-year-old Ziad, who suffered a head injury after being caught up in the strike on his way home.

“I was coming back from school when the first strike hit and I hid in a doorway,” he told AFP, sitting with his head bandaged and blood still coating the bridge of his nose.

“The plane came back a second time and I tried to get down to the basement, but the force of the second strike knocked the door closed and it injured my head and nose.”

Behind him, a younger boy cried in terror, rubbing at his eyes with both his hands.

Men lay on beds or stretchers, some shirtless and already being bandaged, others waiting to be treated and covered in blood.
Five children, the youngest just a toddler, sat wide-eyed on a bench as medical staff tended to the wounded.

Up to 400,000 people are believed to live in Eastern Ghouta, which has been under regime siege since 2013.

The blockade has caused serious food and medicine shortages, and pushed the prices for what remains beyond the reach of impoverished residents.

At least two children are reported to have died from malnourishment or related complications in recent weeks, and more than 1,100 other children are reportedly suffering acute malnutrition.
On Monday, several dozen trucks carrying assistance for 40,000 people entered Eastern Ghouta as part of a UN-Syrian Arab Red Crescent convoy.

It was the first aid access since September, despite repeated requests from the UN and humanitarian actors for consistent access to besieged areas like Eastern Ghouta.

On Tuesday, 11 people including six school children were killed in regime shelling on the town of Jisreen in Eastern Ghouta, the Observatory said.

More than 330,000 people have been killed in Syria since the conflict began in March 2011 with anti-government protests.

Refugees flee fighting near Tripoli
Tunis, 2 November 2017:

Civilians in Azziziya, southwest of Tripoli, are reported to have fled their homes today as random shelling resumed in the area this morning. On Wednesday night rocket attacks are said to have resulted in the death of a child with one other person wounded. Several buildings are also said to have been damaged.

In response, there were demonstrations today in Azziziya and the surrounding district, with protestors blaming the Presidency Council (PC) for the attacks. Angry Wirshefana elders have also said that the area would be vigorously defended.

The fighting started yesterday when a joint force consisting of members of the Special Operations Force, led by Major Imad Trabelsi and ostensibly linked to the Libyan National Army (LNA), and a unit under Osama Juwaili, the PC’s western region military commander, launched an attack on the 4th Brigade camp in Azziziya.

Consisting of local militiamen, the brigade is led by Omar Tantoush, head of the Wirshefana Military Council.

The 26th Brigade camp and the Azziziya Training Centre are also reported to have been attacked.

Trabulsi has accused the 4th Brigade of harbouring members of the pro-Qaddafi Popular Front for the Liberation of Libya as well as rebels from Darfur in Sudan. He had earlier ordered Tantoush to evacuate the camp and hand it over to him. He is also reported saying that the operation was additionally targeted at criminals in the Wirshefana area as well as ensuring the reopening of the road between Hosh Al-Seteen and Zahra bridge on the Swani road.

The accusation about supporting pro-Qaddafi elements refers to Mabrouk Ahnish who was arrested in the area over a fortnight ago along with a Dafuri militia leader and then handed over to the Special Deterrence (Rada) forces in Tripoli. His militia in the Brak Al-Shatti area subsequently cut of the water supply to the capital in a bid to force Rada to release him, but it has no succeeded and much of the city still remains without water.

Tantoush was previously allied to the LNA and was appointed by its Tripoli Operations Room in 2015 to take control of all checkpoints on the coast road east of the city. However, he broke with the LNA a year ago and Khalifa Hafter replaced him with Trabulsi.

There is mystery this evening, however, at who exactly ordered the attack.

Trabulsi has been quoted saying that the joint operation had been authorised by Hafter. However, the LNA general command has said that it did “not issue any orders to any of its units in the Western region” to carry out any military action.

The PC’s chief of staff, Major-General Abdulrahman Al-Tawil, has likewise denied ordering any military action in the area.

Despite answering to rival military commanders, both Trabelsi and Juwaili are from Zintan and the operation has widened the growing rupture between it and its former Wirshefani allies, both of whom were regarded as the vanguard of LNA forces in the west.

While Zintan Minitary Council is reported ordering Wirshefana locals to keep away from the action, Wirshefana elders and officials have accused Juwaili and Trabulsi of trying to subjugate the area ahead of A Zintani attempt to move back to Tripoli.

Elders from Bani Walid have meanwhile been trying to mediate an end to the clashes.

Farmers urged to bury their underpants to improve quality of their beef
[Telegraph] Burying a pair of underpants in a field may not seem the obvious starting point for the perfect roast, but farmers are being urged to dig deep for tastier meat.

The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) and Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) claim interring a pair of cotton smalls in a pasture can reveal vital information about soil fertility.

According to the experts, sterile and lifeless soil will keep underwear intact, but organically thriving soil will eat away at the briefs, leaving nothing but the elastic waistband.

Dig up the pants after just two months, and it is possible to judge how healthy the land is.

Soil conditions on beef and sheep farms directly influence how well grass and forage crops grow and, consequently, the quality of the feed they produce. And better feed produces healthier, tastier animals.

Scottish farmer Iain Green, of Corskie Farm, near Elgin, in Moray, has been burying his pants in various fields since September.

"The theory behind the test is that the cotton will be devoured by the microbes and bacteria in the soil, so the more you have the better," he said.

"We buried them in different fields, some which we think have healthier soil and others which aren't as good."

Earlier this week fellow farmers and officials gathered at Mr Green’s farm to dig up his underpants and analyse the findings. Some had entirely disintegrated while others looked like they had been recently buried.

Mr Green added: "I think quite a few of them were quite surprised and are away to try it for themselves.

"The results were very interesting. We have quite a wet field here and obviously that has been starved of oxygen and the underpants were hardly touched.

"However, with our arable fields, which are cultivated heavily, they were eaten away, but we do cover them with a lot of muck. It was a success and a simple and cheap way of testing soil.

"The cotton is the important thing, rather than the underpants."

The ’Soil my Undies’ challenge was first launched by the California Farmers’ Guild in July and is slowly being adopted by agricultural organisations across the world.

Healthy soil should be teeming with millions of tiny lifeforms such as bacteria, fungi, protozoa, nematodes, arthropods, earthworms, which all work to turn rotting material into nutrients to help plants thrive.

Evan Wiig, Executive Director of the California Farmers’ Guild, said: "Cotton is an organic material and breaks down naturally just like anything else you’d put in your compost pile. So if you bury cotton in soil teeming with life, all those creatures will begin to feast.

"If you have dead soil, if it is totally lifeless you should be able to pull the pants out of the ground, throw it in the washing machine and put them on like nothing ever happened. If you have incredibly healthy soil, you should have nothing left but an elastic strap."

A spokesman for the QMS said they would like farmers across Britain to adopt the test as way of checking the productivity of their soil.
Any insights Skid?

NY Times posts full-page Antifa ad promoting coup against Trump
[SPEISA] "This Nightmare Must End: THE TRUMP/PENCE REGIME MUST GO!"

So declare the opening lines of a full-page advertisement in the New York Times promoting mayhem and insurrection for this Saturday, November 4.

"Nov. 4 It Begins," the ad continues. "Join with the thousands who will gather in cities and towns across the country. A movement of protests that continue every day and night, growing until we become millions... determined now to stop until this regime is driven from power." (See the full ad below.)

The advertisement directs readers to go to RefuseFascism.org, "To Find a Protest Near You." At the website, information on planned Nov. 4 "protests" can be found for Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Austin, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, New York City, Omaha, and other cities.

The New York Times, of course, knows ‐ even if many of its readers do not ‐ that Refuse Fascism is a front group founded and run by the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP), a violent Marxist-Leninist group that idolizes China’s Communist mass-murderer Mao Zedong. Which makes the Refuse Fascism appeal to "humanity" doubly ludicrous and doubly offensive. "NO! IN THE NAME OF HUMANITY WE REFUSE TO ACCEPT A FASCIST AMERICA!", the ad declares.

The RCP/Refuse Fascism cadres form a major component of the masked, black-clad Antifa thugs who have been rioting and causing mayhem throughout America for the past year.

Peace to return to Afghanistan the moment foreign troops leave, Pak’s JUI-S party

-Sami (JUI-S) party led by Maulana Samiul Haq
...the Godfather of the Taliban, leader of his own faction of the JUI. Known as Mullah Sandwich for his habit of having two young boys at a time...
led by Maulana Samiul Haq has said peace will return to Afghanistan the moment the foreign forces leave the country.

A front man for the party Maulana Yousuf Shah has told a local media outlet that the leader of the party has been approached by the Afghanistan's Caped President and the Afghan Ambassador to Pakistain regarding his meddling in the Afghan reconciliation process.

"Afghanistan's Caped President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
and Ambassador to Pakistain Omar Zakhilwal have been pursuing the Darul Uloom Haqqania
...an Islamic seminary located in Akora Khattak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The seminary propagates the Deobandi trend of Sunni Islam and is headed by Maulana Samiul Haq, known as the Godfather of the Taliban. It has been dubbed The University of Jihad due to the methods and content of instruction along with the future occupations of its alumni....
chief [Samiul Haq] to help restore peace in Afghanistan," Shah told The Express Tribune.

He claimed that "But even if he [Haq] approaches the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
, the Afghan nation will not accept foreign troops’ presence in their country."

He said the JUI-S had made it clear that peace was not possible in the presence of the US troops in Afghanistan.

"The Afghan government is confined to the district headquarters only and rest of the country is being run by the Afghan Taliban," he said.

Shah insisted that "The Afghan nation stands by the Taliban. The moment the foreigners leave, peace will automatically be restored across Afghanistan."

This comes as the leader of the party had earlier vowed support to Afghan peace and reconciliation processs.

Darul Uloomi-e-Haqqania led by Maulana Haq in a statement last monthat a two-hour long meeting was held between Maulana Haq and the Afghan Ambassador.

9 Kidz died in Libya in October, sez UN
Tunis, 1 November 2017:

Nine dead children were among the 23 civilians who perished during October according to UNSMIL figures which also showed the number of non-combatants to die doubled over the figure for September.

The six boys and three girls, including a new-born child, died in the raid by unidentified warplanes on a farmhouse in Derna’s Al-Fatayeh district on 30 October. Also killed in that attack were three women. Another two females, a man and four children were injured in this strike. UNSMIL recorded that ambulances carrying injured civilians from the air raids were not allowed to pass through checkpoints at Martouba and Kirsa which it said were controlled by forces allied to the Libyan National Army (LNA)

The month began with the Misrata courthouse gun and explosives attack by the so-called Islamic State in which two male civilians were killed along with two security men. UNSMIL says that it has not been able to establish how many of the 41 injured in this assault on 4 October were civilians.

Two days later the body of a mentally-ill Tebu man was found in Kufra with gunshot wounds. UNSMIL said that he had gone missing 24 hours earlier and believed that he had crossed the dividing line with the rival Zwai community.

At the start of the month UNSMIL recorded the death of a man in Benghazi in a dispute between two families. Also in Benghazi on 16 October two men, one of them an Egyptian, were killed in an attack on a restaurant, it said because of a land dispute.

Not all the victims of violence were young. In clashes in Tripoli’s Ghraret district between the Rada (Deterrence) Force and members of the Al-Mungar family, apparently over drug smuggling, an 81 year-old Sufi imam was killed by gunfire. UNSMIL said that there were other casualties in these engagements but pointed out that it had been unable to find out if they were civilians.

On the 21st of the month UNSMIL recorded that a Tawerghan woman had received gunshot injuries when her refugee camp in Sidi Al-Saeh was attacked by the Al-Kani brigade.

Among the other killings, a Qaddafi-era officer was gunned down as he sat in his car in Warshefana. In the same district suspect car-jackers shot dead a store owner.

Two men kidnapped in Ajdabiya in July were found shot dead in Benghazi. UNSMIL said it had seen a video in which one of the murdered men had confessed to being involved in terrorism.

The UN organisation also noted the discovery of 36 bound bodies near Al-Abyar at the end of the month but did not comment on whether any of the victims were civilians.

Unexploded ordinance, which UNSMIL calls Explosive Remains of War (ERW), continued to take a toll in Benghazi after the recent fighting against militants. Five men were killed and a boy and six other male were injured. In one incident two men, including an Egyptian, were blown up and three others wounded when they went to clean a property around which fighting had raged.

China-Japan-Koreas
North Korea says US bombers staged strike drill over Korean Peninsula
[PRESSTV] North Korea says the US has flown heavy strategic bombers over the Korean Peninsula and carried out bombing drills simulating attacks on major targets in the country.

The B-1B bombers, escorted by US and South Korean fighter jets, flew on Thursday from a US Air Force base in Guam to conduct a "surprise" strike drill, North’s official KCNA news agency said on Friday.

"The frenzied US scheme of threats and blackmail, which aims to crush our republic with nuclear [weapons], continues in November as it did in October," the KCNA said.

The US Air Force later said that two Guam-based US B-1B bombers, accompanied by fighter jets from South Korea and Japan, carried out an exercise in the vicinity of the Korean peninsula on Thursday.

"The bilateral continuous bomber presence (CBP) mission was planned in advance ... and was not in response to any current event," the Air Force said in a statement.

Venezuela unveils 100,000 bolivar note, worth a few US Dollars
[DAWN] Venezuelans living with hyper-inflation and a scarcity of cash for buying daily goods will soon have the country's largest paper bill circulating in recent history.

The country's president announced on Wednesday that the new 100,000-bolivar note will hit the streets this week. It will be worth less than $2.50 in US currency in black market dealings.

In a nationally broadcast appearance, President Nicolas Maduro held up the new paper bill, while also unveiling a 30 per cent boost to the minimum wage.

The new denomination is stop-gap measure in an economic plan by Maduro's government aimed at doing away with the need for paper money.

"The use of the physical currency is being replaced," the socialist leader said.

#2  "The use of the physical currency is being replaced," the socialist leader said.

... while we destroy the last remaining remnants of our economy.

Prediction: in the future, Venezuelans will refer to their currency using exponential notation. Ex: "Hey, buddy! Lend me a 8 until payday" or "Sorry, smallest I've got is a 13".

2 ISIS leaders executed in Anbar

Qaim (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi air force have destroyed an Islamic State convoy in western Anbar, intelligence sources have said.

Fighter jets managed to kill the group’s so-called wali of Qaim, Abu Ahmed al-Iraqi, along with huge number of militants, the sources told Shafaq News.

The convoy was composed of ten vehicles, driven by the militants. All were destroyed as they attempted to escape from the town to Syria’s Al-BuKamal.

In related news, security source said the militant group executed two senior leaders in AlBuKamal town, after they fled battles in western Anbar.

“IS set two senior leaders on fire in AlBukamal,” the source told Alghad Press.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said, “the leaders escaped liberation battles in Ebeidi, west of Anbar.”

Ebeidi, located east of Qaim, was freed on Tuesday before Iraqi troops raised flags on top of buildings.

In a daily press briefing on Tuesday, Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi promised announcing liberation of Qaim within “few days”.

Navy Releases Collision Report for USS Fitzgerald and USS John S McCain Collisions

WASHINGTON (NNS) -- The Navy released Nov. 1, a report detailing the events and actions that led to the collision of USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) and ACX Crystal off the coast of Japan June 17, and the collision of USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) and merchant vessel Alnic MC Aug. 21.

"Both of these accidents were preventable and the respective investigations found multiple failures by watch standers that contributed to the incidents," said Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. John Richardson. "We must do better."

USS FITZGERALD

The collision between Fitzgerald and Crystal was avoidable and resulted from an accumulation of smaller errors over time, ultimately resulting in a lack of adherence to sound navigational practices. Specifically, Fitzgerald's watch teams disregarded established norms of basic contact management and, more importantly, leadership failed to adhere to well-established protocols put in place to prevent collisions. In addition, the ship's triad was absent during an evolution where their experience, guidance and example would have greatly benefited the ship.

USS JOHN S. MCCAIN

The collision between John S. McCain and Alnic MC was also avoidable and resulted primarily from complacency, over-confidence and lack of procedural compliance. A major contributing factor to the collision was sub-standard level of knowledge regarding the operation of the ship control console. In particular, McCain's commanding officer disregarded recommendations from his executive officer, navigator and senior watch officer to set sea and anchor watch teams in a timely fashion to ensure the safe and effective operation of the ship. With regard to procedures, no one on the Bridge watch team, to include the commanding officer and executive officer, were properly trained on how to correctly operate the ship control console during a steering casualty.

This is a joke, right. Freaking NO ONE. Got to be somebody hacked the report. The USN puts to sea with a senior command team who has not been trained to steer the freaking boat? Unpossible.
