Wikileaks Drops Vault 8: CIA Wrote Code Impersonating Russian Anti-Virus Giant--Destroys DNC Hacking Claim?
9 November 2017, WikiLeaks publishes the source code and development logs to Hive, a major component of the CIA infrastructure to control its malware. WikiLeaks reveals CIA wrote code to impersonate Kaspersky Labs anti-virus company.

Hive solves a critical problem for the malware operators at the CIA. Even the most sophisticated malware implant on a target computer is useless if there is no way for it to communicate with its operators in a secure manner that does not draw attention. Using Hive even if an implant is discovered on a target computer, attributing it to the CIA is difficult by just looking at the communication of the malware with other servers on the internet. Hive provides a covert communications platform for a whole range of CIA malware to send exfiltrated information to CIA servers and to receive new instructions from operators at the CIA.

Hive can serve multiple operations using multiple implants on target computers. Each operation anonymously registers at least one cover domain (e.g. "perfectly-boring-looking-domain.com") for its own use. The server running the domain website is rented from commercial hosting providers as a VPS (virtual private server) and its software is customized according to CIA specifications. These servers are the public-facing side of the CIA back-end infrastructure and act as a relay for HTTP(S) traffic over a VPN connection to a "hidden" CIA server called 'Blot'. Also see Wiki.

#4  Maybe Brazile is going with the hack meme because she is afraid. It's been said she dedicated her book to Seth Rich. She also said she woke up and paid attention after seeing the James O'keefe videos back during the election season. Hate to blow the dust off the archives at PJ Media but... I recall a couple of donk operatives on the vid, Foval and Creamer. One of them alluded to dark and sinister things that could be done if necessary.

Sutherland Springs: Mass shooters often have domestic violence trait (Video)
[USA Today] Domestic violence is a trait often shared by U.S. mass shooters, whose rage can evolve into public manifestations like the horrific scene inside the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas.

Devin Patrick Kelley’s history of domestic violence ‐ including 2012 allegations of assaulting his former wife and infant stepson, and a 2014 case of abusing his now-current wife ‐ is a recognized precursor of lethal ends as batterers fight to maintain control, experts say.

Kelley on Sunday killed 25 people, including a woman who was pregnant, and wounded another 20 at the church in the small, rural community about 30 miles outside San Antonio. His mother-in-law, whom officials say he had sent threatening text messages, had attended the church. She wasn't there that day. Neither was his wife.

#1  And it comes out now that they had a camera set up to record last Sunday's service for the church's FB page. Just when I thought there wasn't anything more horrible about this -- the massacre was filmed. I feel sorry for the law enforcement techs who had to watch the tape. Hopefully, it will NEVER be released to the public. Probably won't ever have to be, since there is no need for a trial. Link to Daily Mail.

Man who claimed to be first 'Dreamer' deported under Trump arrested again for allegedly trying to enter US
[FoxNews] A man who claimed to be the first “Dreamer” to be deported under the Trump administration was arrested again for attempting to return to the U.S. for the second time this year, authorities said Wednesday.

Juan Manuel Montes, 23, was taken into custody near Calexico, Calif., for illegally re-entering the U.S. late Monday night, the U.S. Border Patrol said.

Montes was spotted by agents just north of a border fence, and allegedly ran from them for about 200 yards before lying down. He then attempted to get up again and run, but was quickly caught, the Border Patrol said.

Montes was booked into the Imperial County Jail and faces a felony charge that could land him in jail for two years, according to USA Today.

Montes’ lawyers have claimed that their client was the first-known participant in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program to be deported under President Trump. The U.S. has denied that, saying that Montes left the country voluntarily causing him to lose his protected status under the DACA program.

Montes, who came to the United States when he was nine, has a cognitive disability that likely stems from a childhood brain injury, according to his lawyers.

Caribbean-Latin America
Venezuela teeters on brink of default
[Yahoo] Longstanding fears of a Venezuela debt default crystallized Wednesday, as the political crisis engulfing the sinking OPEC state deepened with a meeting set at the UN Security Council and the EU eyeing an arms embargo.

Investors were bracing for what looked to be an inevitable "credit event" that analysts said could arrive within days -- before a "refinancing and restructuring" of the debt called for by President Nicolas Maduro.
That's what you get for investing in a Commie dictatorship
While the country's isolation means the risk of contagion to international financial markets is limited, a default could trigger a global rush to seize assets owned by the Venezuelan government and its state oil company PDVSA, and plunge the struggling nation into a full-blown humanitarian emergency.

- US, EU sanctions -
The United States, which has slapped successive sanctions on Venezuela and its ability to issue new debt on US markets, called for a UN Security Council meeting next Monday to discuss the crisis, particularly its political aspect.
that'll do a lot of good before the ineveitable Russo-Chinese vetoes
"What we have today in Venezuela is a state of non-democracy with many violations of human rights and political rights," Argentine President Mauricio Macri said in New York after meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

He told the Financial Times the US should impose "a full oil embargo" on Venezuela. Such a move would have "broad support" across Latin America, he said. The US and several Latin American nations, including Argentina, call Maduro a "dictator" for his quashing of dissent, especially sidelining the opposition-held parliament and seeking to arrest opposition figures.

National Assembly number two Freddy Guevara has taken refuge in the Chilean ambassador's residence in Caracas to avoid arrest after the Supreme Court, loyal to Maduro, stripped him of his parliamentary immunity.

European Union countries backed an arms embargo on Venezuela as part of a sanctions package also set to include a blacklist of Venezuelan individuals, diplomatic sources said.

"The political aim remains to force the government to get round the negotiating table with the opposition and contribute to getting out of the current political crisis," one diplomatic source said.

- Russia debt deal -
The only bright spot for Venezuela was Russia saying Caracas had agreed to its terms for restructuring the part of the debt it holds, with an accord to be signed within a week. Venezuela's official debt to Moscow stood at $2.8 billion as of 2016, with another $6 billion owed to oil giant Rosneft, which is closely allied with the Kremlin.

That, however, is just a fraction of Venezuela's total debt mountain, estimated at $150 billion.

Around $45 billion is sovereign debt, another $45 billion is owed by PDVSA, and $23 billion is owed to China, according to estimates by private consultancies.

A Hidden Scandal Worse Than Uranium One
Our friends at the Center for Security Policy have issued one of their "occasional papers" on a scandal that we think is worse and more threatening to national security than the Uranium One scandal through which Hillary Clinton and Obama transferred 20 percent of America’s uranium to Russia.

What could be worse than giving 20 percent of our uranium to Russia one might ask?

How about giving a 35-year lease to one of America’s largest container ports, located just minutes from the Kennedy Space Center, to a Middle Eastern company with ties to Iran, North Korea, Russia and the evil genius behind Saddam Hussein’s nuclear weapons program?

But that’s exactly what the same players involved in the Uranium One deal did when they leased the cargo container operations at Port Canaveral, Florida after two years of secret talks
...
Indeed, Port Canaveral is near a number of important U.S. facilities‐including the Navy’s East Coast ballistic missile submarine base, two U.S. Air Force Space Command bases and NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Additionally, Port Canaveral and its container facilities are connected directly to rail and road lines that provide ready transportation access to the entire country.

"The Perfect Storm: Project Pelican’s Gulftainer, Russia’s Club-K, KGB’s Primakov, North Korea, and the Architects of the Islamic Bloc and the Iran Nuclear Deal" now reveals that the danger to U.S. national security may be exponentially more critical.

Dr. Jafar Dhia Jafar worked closely with the Russians on Iraq’s full range of Weapons of Mass Destruction programs, including the nuclear one. He succeeded in designing a miniaturized nuclear warhead similar to the model that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un posed with earlier in 2017. Worse yet, Gulftainer, the Iraqi-UAE company that was allowed to obtain the Port Canaveral container facility lease, has entered into a joint venture with the Russian state-owned firm which owns 100% of the shares of Rosoboronexport, the exporter of the Club-K system.

The Club-K is a cruise missile launch system concealed in a container whose external appearance looks identical to standard ISO intermodal commercial cargo shipping containers. Inside each Club-K container, however, are four missiles which can carry biological, chemical, conventional, Electro-Magnetic Pulse (EMP), or nuclear warheads. The genius of the Club-K system is its ability to evade detection among the millions of shipping containers carried on ships, trains, and trucks all over the world, including inside the U.S.

Now, the Russian maker of the Club-K has partnered with the Iraqi-UAE company headed by the nuclear mastermind who designed a nuclear warhead specifically to fit on the nosecone of the Club-K cruise missile.

Also, Ras al-Khaimah (RAK), one of the seven UAE emirates, runs a shipping company in partnership with Iran, which essentially controls RAK’s main shipping port. And a broken and possibly corrupt CFIUS just gave them all access to a 35-year lease on the container facilities at one of America’s most critical ports.

13 Baltimore high schools, no students proficient in math, report says
[FOX] One-third of high schools in Baltimore, last year, had zero students proficient in math, Fox 45 reported Wednesday, citing new state testing data.

Based on 2017 state test scores, 13 out of 39 high school had zero students proficient in math, the report said. Another six schools had only one percent of their students who tested proficient in math.

The city reportedly starting a new math curriculum this year aimed at closing the achievement gap in addition to enhanced teacher training and partnerships that would serve students.

"There is no simple answer that will close the achievement gap for Baltimore’s students. Though we all want to see results quickly, the work is hard and will take time," the Baltimore City Public Schools District statement said.

"Diversity" Student leader works to shut down Dennis Prager's talk on ‘why socialism makes people selfish'
[TheCollegeFix] Protester says ‘this will be another Milo situation.’

A student government diversity leader has vowed to work “tirelessly” to shut down conservative Dennis Prager’s upcoming talk at the University of Wyoming.

So far, Hunter McFarland has amassed a group of nearly three dozen peers who say on social media they plan to help protest the talk, titled “Why Socialism Makes People Selfish.”

According to the Laramie Boomerang, McFarland told Jessie Leach, president of the university’s Turning Point USA chapter, in an email that “If you continue, you will have the entire campus against you. This will be another Milo situation.”

McFarland was referring to anti-feminist provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos, who has had speeches canceled at multiple campuses nationwide and was prevented from speaking earlier this year at UC Berkeley because of riots.

Georgia city will rename itself Amazon if it wins the new headquarters
[The Verge] As North American cities vie for the chance to be chosen by Amazon as the home of its second headquarters, one Georgia city has stepped up to the plate. The city council of Stonecrest, Georgia voted 4 to 2 on Monday to change its name to Amazon, Georgia and give the company 345 acres of land if Amazon selects it as the HQ destination, according to local media.
Newly incorporated city of Stonecrest. Don't you love it when a plan comes together ?
Amazon, Georgia doesn’t quite have the same ring as say, Toyota City ‐ headquarters to Toyota Motors in Japan ‐ but it definitely makes for a unique (if desperate) offer. "There are several major US cities that want Amazon, but none has the branding opportunity we are now offering this visionary company," said the city’s mayor, Jason Lary.

And it’s exactly the kind of romantic proposal Amazon wants to hear. The company is asking cities to provide incentives like tax credits, fee reductions, relocation grants and more in order to become the second headquarters. This definitely falls under "more." Amazon’s home remains Seattle, Washington, which would seem to take at least that one state out of the running.

Rebadging itself as Amazon, Georgia is exactly the differentiator that the tiny city of Stonecrest (formed just last year) desperately needs if it has any hope of competing against the likes of big cities like New York, Dallas, and others. Stonecrest has a mall, a nature preserve, and a national heritage area, but its town population is only a little over 20,000.

Amazon has set October 19th as the deadline for accepting proposals for its second headquarters.

U.S. farm study finds no firm cancer link to Roundup - Still not safe to drink
LONDON, (Reuters) - A large long-term study on the use of the big-selling weedkiller glyphosate by agricultural workers in the United States has found no firm link between exposure to the pesticide and cancer, scientists said on Thursday.

Published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute (JNCI), the study found there was "no association between glyphosate", the main ingredient in Monsanto’s popular herbicide RoundUp, "and any solid tumors or lymphoid malignancies overall, including non-Hogkin Lymphoma (NHL) and its subtypes."

It said there was "some evidence of increased risk of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) among the highest exposed group", but added "this association was not statistically significant" and would require more research to be confirmed.

The findings are likely to impact legal proceedings taking place in the United States against Monsanto, in which more than 180 plaintiffs are claiming exposure to RoundUp gave them cancer - allegations that Monsanto denies.

Intel chiefs' botched Russia findings raise questions of motive
[Wash Times] Fourteen days before President Trump took the oath of office, the Obama administration’s intelligence chiefs made public a unanimous assessment claiming Russian operatives, under orders from President Vladimir Putin, had orchestrated an influence campaign to help Mr. Trump win the presidential contest.

It was a watershed moment: the CIA, National Security Agency and FBI challenging the legitimacy of a U.S. presidential victory.

The conclusions in the Jan. 6 document were sharp, but the findings unraveled 10 months later, raising questions about the basis for the evidence and the motives of the Obama appointees leading the nation’s intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

"It left me scratching my head," said one intelligence source with personal access to former Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper and former CIA Director John O. Brennan, two of the men who had signed off on the assessment.

28 Wisconsin Counties Hit Big Pharma With Separate Lawsuits
[Daily Caller] More than two dozen counties in Wisconsin are going after pharmaceutical companies in an attempt to hold the drug makers accountable for the public cost of the opioid epidemic.

Twenty-eight counties in the state filed separate lawsuits in eastern federal district court in Wisconsin Tuesday that accuse top drug makers, their subsidiaries and several doctors of fraudulent marketing of opioids painkillers. The lawsuits seek unspecified damages from the companies for the millions of dollars spent by localities to combat opioid addiction, reports the Journal Sentinel.

Officials from these counties say their communities are suffering under the financial toll of the drug crisis, which is impacting emergency services, law enforcement, hospitals and social services. The lawsuits allege drug makers created a public nuisance through their fraudulent advertising of opioid painkillers that led to the current overdose crisis.

"County governments are bearing the brunt of the costs of this crisis," Erin Dickinson of Crueger Dickinson LLC, who is part of the legal effort in Wisconsin, said Tuesday, according to the Journal Sentinel. "Defendants must be held responsible for the devastating effects their actions have produced on counties across this country."

The lawsuits target Purdue Pharma, Johnson & Johnson, Endo Health Solutions, along with their subsidiaries and three doctors from Utah and California. Lawsuits are mounting against the largest drug makers in the country for their alleged complicity in sparking the opioid crisis through dishonest advertising.

World War II veteran, 93, scores upset election win in New Jersey
[FOX] A 93-year-old World War II veteran scored a surprise victory over an incumbent New Jersey mayor in Tuesday’s election.

Vito Perillo defeated Tinton Falls Mayor Gerald Turning in the nonpartisan municipal race.

"I didn’t think I had a chance," Perillo told NJ.com.

But his grandson, Mike Perillo-Gentile, said he wasn’t surprised. "When he wants to do something, he does it," Perillo-Gentile said.

Perillo, a U.S. Navy veteran who served in the Pacific theater, told the Asbury Park Press his entry into the race was spurred by a pair of whistleblower lawsuits involving the police department that cost the borough a reported $1.1 million in settlements.

Turning was the borough police chief from 2004 to 2011 and also was the borough administrator from 2010 to 2014. He was seeking his second term as mayor after running unopposed in 2014.

GOP feels pressure to deliver after election rout
[The Hill] The Democratic sweep in Tuesday’s elections has raised the pressure on Republicans to make good on their campaign promises.

Republican senators downplayed any setback to their tax-reform push from the elections, but said the results drove home the need to deliver legislative wins before votes are cast in 2018.

"I do think, however, that it does speak to the need for us to get accomplishments. ... I think right now there's a general frustration in the country that even though we've gotten some things done on our agenda, that some of the big ticket items remain incomplete," Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), the chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, told reporters.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said he "predicted" the rough election night and that the party needs to make changes quickly before the midterms arrive.

"Unless we get our act together, we're going to lose heavily," he said.

Asked if Tuesday's elections showed the need for a "course correction," Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), who has emerged as one of Trump's loudest critics, smirked before adding, "maybe that's potentially self-evident."

"I've certainly made some observations, but I'll keep them to myself," he said.

Democrats won victories up and down the ballot on Tuesday night, their first major election wins since the devastating results of 2016.

China-Japan-Koreas
Trump strikes at the heart of the North Korean regime with speech
[WASHINGTONPOST] President Trump has said on several occasions that he is willing to talk to North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
Well, on Wednesday, Trump did ‐ after a fashion.

The U.S. president directly addressed his 33-year-old nemesis in a speech to South Korea’s National Assembly. This time, Trump did not call Kim "Little Rocket Man" or use the kinds of rhetorical flourishes that play so well on Twitter.

But the words that Trump did use cut deeper, because they struck at the very heart of the Kim regime.

If there is one thing that Kim has shown he cannot tolerate, it is personal criticism.

"North Korea is not the paradise your grandfather envisioned," Trump said to Kim, who, if he was in Pyongyang, was just 120 miles away. "It is a hell that no person deserves."

Kim Il Sung, who is revered like a god in North Korean propaganda, established the country in 1948 as a "socialist paradise" of free housing, health care and education where people would want for nothing. Grandson Kim Jong-un claims his legitimacy as North Korea’s supreme leader by virtue of being a direct descendant of this quasi-deity.

Trump devoted a large part of his address to detailing the human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
abuses that the Kims have committed in North Korea, filling his speech with words such as "twisted," "sinister," "tyrant," "fascism
...a political system developed in Italy symbolized by the Roman fasces -- thin reeds, each flimsy in itself but unbreakable when bound into a bundle. The word is nowadays thrown around by all sorts of people who have no idea what they're talking about...
" and "cult."

"I wanted to stand up from my seat and shout ’Yahoo!’ " said Lee Hyeon-seo, an escapee from North Korea who was sitting in the assembly hall during Trump’s address. "We just don’t hear people talking about North Korea in this way in South Korea, so I was very emotional during the speech. I was very impressed."

In front of a National Assembly ruled by a left-wing party that favors engagement with North Korea and seeks to avoid antagonizing the regime, Trump noted the slave-like conditions North Korean workers face, the malnutrition among children, the suppression of religion and the forced-labor prison camps where he said North Koreans endure "torture, starvation, rape and murder on a constant basis."

Security coordination with Israel resumed, PA official says
[IsraelTimes] The head of the Paleostinian police in the West Bank confirms that security coordination has resumed with Israel, after it was partly suspended in July.

"Everyone is coordinating now. That means things returned to what they were before July 14," Hazem Atallah says. "Things are normal now."

He later confirms to journalists in Ramallah that it was around two weeks ago that security coordination resumed fully.

PA President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
announced in July security coordination was being suspended in protest of Israel installing new security measures at the entrance to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, although it was unclear to what extent it was actually cut.

The security measures, including metal detectors, were installed after two Israeli coppers were killed in the area by Arab Israeli button men who emerged from the holy site to commit the attack.

Atallah says security coordination was never completely cut for the police, saying 95 percent of the activities had continued.

"The only thing we stopped is we didn’t meet them in the field," he adds.

"We don’t work with politics. We work for people," he says, defending the coordination, which polls say is unpopular with most Paleostinians.

Court indicts Nawaz in 3 separate corruption references, rejects plea for clubbing NAB cases
[DAWN] The accountability court hearing corruption cases against Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf, then by the courts...
and his family members has rejected an application filed by the ousted prime minister for clubbing together the three references filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

After the announcement of the judgement, Sharif was called to the rostrum and the judge read out the charges against him. The former prime minister was indicted separately in each of the three references ‐ he pleaded "not guilty" to all the charges.

While at the rostrum, Sharif expressed his concern that since the Supreme Court had given a six-month deadline for the references to be wrapped up, deciding four references in this period would mean each case gets just 1.5 months. However,
women are made to be loved, not understood...
the judge observed that the cases could conclude within the timeframe if heard simultaneously.

After the indictment, the court revived summonses for the prosecution witnesses ‐ Sidra Mansoor of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistain and Jahangir Ahmed of Federal Board of Revenue ‐ for their presence in the next hearing.

Coalition Air Strikes Decline Sharply in Syria and Iraq
[AnNahar] Coalition air strikes in Syria and Iraq fell sharply last month, a reflection of the collapse of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group, a U.S. Air Force general said Tuesday.

Brigadier General Andrew Croft, who coordinates the coalition air campaign, said there were 60 to 70 percent fewer air strikes in October than the average for the preceding eight to nine months.

"That's indicative of the fact that ISIS is collapsing not only as a physical caliphate but also in ownership of land," he told news hounds in a teleconference.

"They only control about four or five percent of the original area they covered, so the number of targets has dropped dramatically, particularly in the last month."

He said 850 bombs were dropped during October compared to 1,800 to 2,400 a month since the start of the year.

The decline came in the same month that Raqa, IS' Syrian stronghold, fell to U.S.-backed Kurdish forces.

Before that, Iraqi forces backed by coalition airpower retook the northern city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
from IS in early July.

According to coalition estimates, at least 786 civilians have been killed during the three-year air campaign against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria.

Airwars.Com, a website that monitors casualty reports, puts the number of civilians killed in coalition Arclight airstrikes at nearly 6,000.

Pilot Who Ejected in April Hornet Mishap Was Senior Navy Officer
[Military.com] One of these unverbalized warnings was about the increased likelihood that the aircraft would yaw, or move against the direction of a desired turn, when operating on a single engine as angle-of-attack is exceeded.

At this point, the aircraft was flying on one engine, with landing gear and refueling probe extended, as the captain worked to maintain control of the plane and hydraulic fluid cautions continued to blare.

"The cycling [hydraulics] cautions were very distracting and [the pilot] became overwhelmed with flying the jet," investigators found. " ... Despite over 4,000 flight hours, he never had a situation where the jet was fighting him so much."

Things started to go really wrong. After restarting the right engine, the pilot climbed and angle of attack increased from 8.5 to 9.3 degrees. At 9.4 degrees, the aircraft started to move out of control. The captain maxed throttles at both engines, then pulled them back. Inadvertently, he lit the afterburner for just the left engine, which exacerbated the adverse yaw, pulling the plane further out of control.
Oh Fudge.
The plane began to buck and roll, now completely outside controlled flight. Ejection was quickly becoming the only option.

Mumbai attacks hurt Kashmir cause: ex-Pakistan foreign secretary
[DAWN] The 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai have done an irreparable damage to the Kashmir cause and tarnished Pakistan’s image as well, says former foreign secretary Riaz Mohammad Khan.

In November 2008, militants carried out 12 coordinated attacks in Mumbai, killing 164 people. The attacks drew widespread global condemnation and India used the attackers’ alleged link to Lashkar-e-Taiba for blaming Pakistan.

Islamabad strongly rejected the Indian claim but the accusation did hurt its image in world capitals.

“Besides tarnishing Pakistan’s image, the attacks also did an irreparable damage to the Kashmir cause,” said Mr Khan while addressing a gathering at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington on Sunday night.

The former foreign secretary referred to a recent edict by the Imam of Kaaba, saying that “Islam does not allow private individuals and groups” to declare jihad. “It’s only a government that has the authority to declare jihad,” the imam added.

Interior minister grilled over NIC issued to slain Taliban leader
[DAWN] Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday informed Senate in a written reply that ‐ contrary to media reports that Afghan Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
leader Mullah Mansoor had been carrying a Pakistain passport and National Identity Card (NIC) ‐ it had emerged that the card had actually been issued to a man named Muhammad Wali, son of Shah Muhammad.

The minister said in the statement that a departmental inquiry against all National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) officials involved in issuing the 'fake' NIC had been completed. At least three officials had been handed a "major punishment" ‐ removal from service. The minister said cases have also been registered against the accused and judicial proceedings are ongoing in the case.

Responding to the minister's assurances, Senator Farhatullah Babar was not satisfied that action had only been taken against lower-level Nadra employees.

"This is not the solution to the problem," he said, asking that the government should investigate who gave the orders for the card to be issued, if it was not already doing so.

Fusion GPS Partner Strikes Deal To Testify Before House Intel Committee
[Daily Caller] Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson struck a deal on Wednesday to testify voluntarily before the House Intelligence Committee next week to discuss his opposition research firm’s involvement in the Steele dossier.

Simpson and his lawyer met with members of the committee for several hours to hammer out a deal for his closed-door testimony.

The Daily Caller was informed that Simpson had indicated prior to Wednesday’s meeting that he would plead the Fifth during his deposition, just as his two co-founders, Peter Fritsch and Thomas Catan, did during interviews last month. But as part of the deal struck Wednesday, Simpson will not plead the Fifth.

Simpson’s move comes amid a tense legal battle over Fusion’s bank records. On Friday, Fusion filed papers in federal court in Washington, D.C. asking a judge to issue a temporary restraining order preventing its bank from releasing records related to financial transactions it has had with "any law firm, ’media company’ or journalist with which it has worked."

Egypt's Sisi backs Saudi purge; urges de-escalation with Iran in the region
[REUTERS] Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi said on Wednesday he was against military strikes on Iran or the Tehran-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah, saying there was enough turmoil in the Middle East.

In a meeting with a group of journalists, Sisi also pledged support for Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
in its stand-off with Iran.

Asked about the prospect of attacks on Iran and Hezbollah - two days after Saudi Arabia had accused Leb of declaring war because of Hezbollah’s "aggressive actions", Sisi stressed the importance of de-escalation.

"I am always against war," Sisi said, without spelling out who might be involved in military action.

Finsbury Park Mosque says it was 'unaware' trustee is senior member of Hamas
[INDEPENDENT.CO.UK] Finsbury Park Mosque says it was unaware that one of its trustees has been appointed to Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,’ political bureau.

Representatives of the institution told The Independent it has no relationship with the Islamist Paleostinian political party following a high-profile trip to Russia by representatives including Mohammed Sawalha.

Hamas named him alongside senior members in coverage of the visit, dealing a blow to the mosque’s efforts to dispel its former reputation as a hub for al-Qaeda supporters and bad boy preachers including Abu Hamza.

Mr Sawalha, who is one of Finsbury Park Mosque’s six trustees, was identified as part of Hamas' political bureau in coverage of the "fruitful" visit to Moscow.

He was among senior members of the organization to meet Vladimir Putin
...Second and fourth President and sixth of the Russian Federation and the first to remain sober. Putin is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from polonium poisoning. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to Putin. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead...
’s Middle East envoy Mikhail Bogdanov.

Hamas released photos of the three-hour meeting in September, where it said delegates discussed its reconciliation with the Paleostinian Authority and alleged Israeli abuses against Paleostinians in Gazoo, West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Iraq
Iraqi Central Bank orders banks to halt operations in Kurdistan
[RUDAW.NET] The Central Bank of Iraq has called on all Iraqi banks in the country to halt their operations in the Kurdistan Region indefinitely. Any bank that disobeys will no longer receive foreign currency transfers from the central bank.

The move is seen as part of the punitive measures taken by the government of Iraq against the Kurdistan Region in response to the vote for independence held on September 25 despite the opposition of Iraq, neighboring countries, and others including the United States.

In an official letter dated November 7, a copy of which Rudaw has obtained, the Central Bank points to instructions from the Iraqi parliament sent on October 12 that stipulate the Central Bank must "not sell foreign currencies to the banks working in [Kurdistan] Region or those who have branches there."

Banks were given one week to inform Iraq’s financial regulator of what steps they have taken to halt their operations in the Kurdistan Region if they want to continue to buy and sell foreign currencies with the Central Bank.

It added that the measures will be in place until otherwise announced at a later date.

Iraq has taken a number of punitive measures against the Kurdistan Region following the independence vote, including military operations and a ban on international flight to and from the Region.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has described such measures as "collective punishment."

Iraqi PM Abadi: We will continue to fight ISIS, even within Syrian territory
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said that he has ordered armed forces to fight against ISIS, even from within Syrian territory.

In a statement on Tuesday, Abadi also said that there are joint efforts with neighboring countries to Iraq to protect the borders from any threat ISIS may pose.

The prime minister also warned various forces against harming federal forces or citizens in Kurdistan, Kirkuk and disputed areas. If "disobeyed," consequences will be harsh no matter the offender, he added.

Meanwhile,
...back at the buffalo wallow, Standing Buffalo drew a bead on his old enemy and squeezed the trigger...
air strikes coordinator for the international alliance against ISIS Brigadier General Andrew Croft said on Tuesday that Iraqi operations forces fighting against the terrorist group will not reach Syrian territory.

During a presser Croft dismissed having knowledge of Iranian militia at the Iraqi and Syrian borders between al-Bukamal and al-Qaim.

Croft stressed that Iraqi operations are carried out under Baghdad’s supervision.

He also said that the Washington-led coalition continues to have good relations with the Peshmerga and Iraqi forces alike.

China-Japan-Koreas
China has practiced bombing runs targeting Guam, US says
[DefenseNews] Over the last year Japan has scrambled 900 sorties to intercept Chinese fighters challenging Japan’s air defense identification zone, or ADIZ. In 2013 China announced borders for its own ADIZ, borders which overlapped Japan’s zone and included the disputed Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea. Since then, increased interactions between Japanese and Chinese aircraft ultimately resulted in Japan relocating two fighter squadrons to Naha Air Base on Okinawa to more easily meet the incursions, the officials said.

"We now have, on a daily basis, armed Chinese Flankers and Japanese aircraft" coming in close proximity of each other, the officials said, adding that intercepts between the U.S. and China are also increasing.

"It’s very common for PRC aircraft to intercept U.S. aircraft" these days, the officials said, referring to the People’s Republic of China.

Chinese aircraft are also testing U.S. air defense identification zones, the officials said. Chinese H-6K "Badger" bombers upgraded with 1,000 mile range air launched cruise missiles are testing U.S. defense zones around Guam.

The Badgers run "not infrequent" flights to get within range of the U.S. territory, they said.

"The PRC is practicing attacks on Guam," the officials said.

The vast majority of the flights occur without an incident, such as a report of unsafe flying, for example. The officials said they follow U.S. Pacific Command guidance on how to respond in those events, so they do not further escalate.

Syria declares victory over Islamic State
[Ynet] Syria's army declared victory over Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
on Thursday, saying its capture of the jihadists' last town in the country marked the collapse of their project in the region.

The army and its allies are still fighting Islamic State in desert areas near Albu Kamal, the last town the holy warrior group had held in Syria, near the border with Iraq, the army said.

But the capture of the town ends Islamic State's era of territorial rule over the so-called caliphate that it proclaimed in 2014 across Iraq and Syria and in which millions suffered under its hard-line, repressive strictures.

-Land of the Free
California, the Rhetoric of Illegal Immigration, and the Perils of Ignoring Thucydides's Warning
By Victor Davis Hanson

Vocabulary changes always reflect the agendas of a political debate.

The fight over illegal immigration plays out by altering words and their meanings. Take the traditional rubric "illegal alien." The English has been clear and exact for nearly a century: illegal alien (cf. Latin alienus) was a descriptive term for any foreigner who crossed the US border without coming through customs to obtain proper legal sanction.

#7  Broken Ribs are the #1 root cause of traumatic death in the elderly. That's why the first question any care giver asks, is have you fallen? It's not that you can't get up but that you suffer lung damage and pneumonia.

The current surgical treatment takes 6 hours and is medieval. The alternative is to let them heal in place, which is OK if the bones reconnect properly but some will not. So they will reknit at odd angles. Paul is in for a lot of pain. He will likely suffer from this injury for the rest of his life.

For some reason Boucher is being undercharged when he should be institutionalized. Expect more leftist violence.

#8  For some reason Boucher is being undercharged
It's not the severity of the injury that determines the charge, but the circumstances of its infliction and what can be proven. If Boucher claims there was an argument and he just pushed Paul, who fell and was injured, and there is no way to prove otherwise, the current charge may be all they can do(IANAL.)

Fall Of Raqqa Delivers Sharp Blow To Islamic State's Media Operation
[NPR.ORG] When the American-backed coalition of Kurdish and Arab militias took control of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
's de facto capital of Raqqa, Syria, last month, it dealt a major blow to the Lion of Islam organization and its self-declared caliphate.

Counterterrorism experts warn the victory will not mark the end of ISIS, but they believe it will force the group to return to guerrilla activity, which was a feature of its earliest days. Some experts believe the group will become more dangerous as it inspires, and in some cases directs, turbans and lone-wolf holy warriors around the world.

The U.S. Is Beating Back ISIS, So What Comes Next?
Since the fall of Raqqa, the Islamic State's media operation, which was known for its sophistication, has gone almost silent.

ISIS's media output has dropped significantly, according to BBC monitoring, a division of the British media organization that gathers and analyzes communications worldwide.

Mina al-Lami of BBC Monitoring tells Here & Now's Robin Young that the loss of territory does not necessarily spell the end of ISIS's extensive media operation.

"As it's losing territory, [ISIS] actually needs to make sure that that media operation is present and strong because IS is known for two things: for its violence and its sophisticated media operation," she says. "So in order to maintain that brand, in order to maintain followers and actually attract more recruits and be able to kind of instill fear, as it says, it definitely needs to stay alive and alive through that media operation."

Get rid of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ as national anthem, Cal NAACP
[MIAMIHERALD] When California lawmakers return to the Capitol in January, the state chapter of the NAACP will be seeking their support for a campaign to remove “The Star-Spangled Banner” as the national anthem.

The organization last week began circulating among legislative offices two resolutions that passed at its state conference in October: one urging Congress to rescind “one of the most racist, pro-slavery, anti-black songs in the American lexicon” as the national anthem, and another in support of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who launched a protest movement against police brutality among professional athletes by kneeling when “The Star-Spangled Banner” was played before games.

“We owe a lot of it to Kaepernick,” California NAACP President Alice Huffman said. “I think all this controversy about the knee will go away once the song is removed.”

The kneeling protests have drawn attention to an infrequently-sung third verse from “The Star-Spangled Banner,” which includes the passage:
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footstep's pollution.

No refuge could save the hireling and slave

From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave
Some interpretations of the lyrics conclude that they celebrate the deaths of black American slaves who joined British troops during the War of 1812 to gain their freedom. Francis Scott Key, who wrote the lyrics of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” was a slave owner and fierce opponent of abolition who may have sparked the first race riot in Washington, D.C.

Huffman said Congress, which adopted “The Star-Spangled Banner” as the national anthem in 1931, should find a replacement that is not “another song that disenfranchises part of the American population.”

Die Stem (The Call of SA - Note the similarities) is now outlawed, along with the old flag. Probably just a coincidence. Nothing to do with a communist takeover.

Britain
UK politician found dead after misconduct claims
[DAWN] UK politician Carl Sargeant was found dead on Tuesday just days after resigning over misconduct allegations as part of a wider harassment scandal embroiling parliament, police said.

Sargeant’s body was found on Tuesday at an address in Connah’s Quay in north Wales.

The force said the death of the 49-year-old was not being treated as suspicious, while the Press Association news agency said Sargeant was understood to have did away with himself.

The former Welsh government minister resigned on Nov 3 and was suspended from the Labour party after he was informed of allegations against him.

Sargeant was one of a number of British politicians to have faced allegations of misconduct in recent weeks, prompting party leaders to introduce new safeguards for parliamentary staff on Monday.

His family said he was "the glue that bound us together" and "the most kind and caring husband, father, son and friend".

A former chemical plant worker, Sargeant was first elected to political office in 2003, rising through the ranks before being named cabinet secretary for communities and children in May 2016.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn tweeted he was "deeply shocked to hear of the terrible news about Carl Sargeant. My thoughts and profound sympathy are with his family and friends".

Usama Juwaili and Zintani forces takes Aziziya
[Libya Herald] Forces under the control of Major-General Osama Juwaili, commander of the Presidency Council’s western military zone, have taken control of Aziziya, the main town in the Wirshefana district of Jafara west of Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
. It happened overnight following a six-day military operation in the area by Juwaili, supported by Imad Trabulsi, head of the Special Operations Force, and latterly by the Tripoli Revolutionaries Brigade of Haithem Tajouri
...Commander of the pro-(Islamist) government First Support Brigade...
. The latter set itself up at the Zahra Bridge on the Swani road south of the capital.

According to sources in the district, Juwaili’s men were able to move into Aziziya following a deal with Wirshefani militia commander Muammar al-Dhawi, a lifelong friend of Juwaili. They have taken over the 4th Brigade camp in the town, previously controlled by Omar Tantoush.

It is reported that a number of "criminals" allegedly involved in kidnappings and other crimes were tossed in the calaboose
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
last night, including Mohammed Bujafr Sburtu, accused of a number of abductions on the coast road. Some reports, though, say that several were able to escape in the confusion this morning as more forces arrived. The takeover was largely peaceful and the town is now said to be calm.

In a statement, Zintan Military Council said that the operation had been to show that no one was above the law. As part of that, a major checkpoint on the road into Aziziya made of containers has been dismantled.

According to the Fursan Janzur brigade, however, the coast road remains closed "for security reasons" although it says that some 60 men from the Wirshefana area as well as "mercenaries" surrendered themselves and their arms to the brigade during the day.

Also still closed is the main road between Aziziya and Gharyan. According to the mayor of Gharyan, it remains unsafe and there were festivities there this morning. People are still having to take the longer route via Esbaia, he told the Libya Herald. However,
the way to a man's heart remains through his stomach...
he hoped the road would reopen within 24 hours, adding: "We want the police to provide security in the area. We don’t want militias and armed forces."

One report from Zintan claims that the 4th camp was full of pro-Qadaffy publicity material.

There have been claims that the real objective of the Juwali offensive was not to crack down on criminals, but on pro-Qadaffy forces in the area that were losing faith in Saif al-Islam and were in the process of changing their allegiance to Khalifa Hafter and the Libyan National Army.

Hackers redirect schools to Islamic State video
[BBC] Some 800 schools across the US have been targeted by hackers and their websites redirected to an Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
-sponsored YouTube video.

The attack, which lasted a few hours, affected schools in Arizona, Connecticut, Virginia and New Jersey.

The hack, which also affected private companies and government websites, is being investigated by the FBI.

All the websites are run by SchoolDesk. The Atlanta-based company is advising administrators to change passwords.

Rogue file
It said in a statement that "it immediately responded" when its technicians had found a small file injected into the root of one of its websites that redirected "to a YouTube video containing an audible Arabic message and a picture of Saddam Hussein".

"Although the exact method and point of intrusion is not yet fully known (possibly an SQL injection or through a user account with a weak password), we have added multiple layers of redundant protection to prevent this from happening again," it said.

On its website, Bloomfield School District, in New Jersey, said that its internal computer and data systems within the district "were completely unaffected".

Mark James, a specialist at security company ESET, said: "In this case, gaining access to change or plant a rogue file that redirects users to areas of your design is about as simple as it gets - small footprint, no potential warning signs and out before anyone notices - but the results are as bad as they get."

Islamic State's Footprint Spreading in Northern Somalia: U.N.
[USNEWS] A krazed killer faction loyal to Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) has increased its following in northern Somalia from a few dozen last year to up to 200 this year, a U.N. report said, days after the group came under U.S. air attack for the first time.

The increase in strength of the IS spin-off group has attracted attention because some security officials fear it could offer a safe haven for Islamic State murderous Moslems fleeing military defeat in Syria or Iraq.

"The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant
... the current version of al-Qaeda in Iraq, just as blood-thirsty and well-beloved as the original...
(ISIS) faction loyal to Sheikh Abdulqader Mumin - estimated...in 2016 to number not more than a few dozen..., has growing significantly in strength, and (now) consists of as many as 200 fighters," said the report by a panel of U.N. experts obtained by Rooters.

"Even a few hundred armed fighters could destabilize the whole region," said a regional diplomatic security source. "It(air strikes) is a recognition from the U.S. that the situation in terms of the (Islamic State) faction in Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
is becoming increasingly critical."

Somalia has been riven by civil war and Islamist militancy, though more in the south than in the north where the Puntland region is located, since 1991 when clan warlords overthrew a dictator before turning on each other.

Friday's air strikes failed to kill Mumin, the security source said. But Abdirizak Ise Hussein, director of semi-autonomous Puntland's spy service, said the strikes killed about 20 krazed killers, including a Sudanese fighter and two Arabs.

Almost all Mumin's fighters are Somali, the U.N. report said, though the group is believed to include a Sudanese man sanctioned by the United States. The group also has contacts in Yemen. It was unclear if the Sudanese man under U.S. sanctions was the same one reported killed in the air strike.

accused Tehran of "direct military aggression" over a Yemeni rebel missile attack near Riyadh.

The Iran-backed Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
rebels also threatened to attack ports and airports in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, escalating a crisis between Riyadh and Tehran.

Saudi Arabia’s powerful crown prince had accused Iran of supplying missiles to the Houthis, which he said "could be considered as an act of war".

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif retorted that "the allegations by Saudi officials were contrary to reality", a foreign ministry front man said.

Iran’s Rouhani defends Houthi missile attack on Saudi Arabia
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iran's President Rouhani said on Wednesday that Yemen’s missile attack targeting Riyadh on Saturday was "a reaction to Saudi aggression."

"How should the Yemeni people react to bombardment of their country. So they are not allowed to use their own weapons? You stop the bombardment first and see if the Yemenis would not do the same," Rouhani was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency.

A day earlier, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman described Iran’s supply of rockets to the Houthis as "direct military aggression" that could be an act of war.

Saudi air defenses intercepted the ballistic missile heading toward Riyadh. It was brought down near Riyadh airport without causing casualties.

Syrian army, allies, take last IS stronghold in Syria
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Syria’s army and its allies captured ISIS’s last stronghold in Syria on Wednesday, a commander in the alliance said, bringing the self-declared caliphate close to complete downfall.

"The last stronghold of ISIS (ISIS), al Bukamal, is free of the ISIS organization," said the commander in the military alliance supporting Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Trampler of Homs...
ISIS has been all but destroyed over the past two years. At the height of its power in 2015, it ruled an expanse of Iraq and Syria, eradicating the border, printing money, imposing draconian laws and plotting attacks across the world.

On Wednesday, after a months-long advance through central and eastern Syria, the Syrian army and allied Shi’ite militias encircled and attacked al Bukamal.

Syrian state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
declared "al Bukamal is liberated". But a war monitor, the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said it was not true that al Bukamal was taken and there was still fighting in the area.

Al Bukamal is located on the border with Iraq on the bank of the Euphrates. During the battle, Hezbollah forces entered Iraq and the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces crossed into Syria to help capture the town, the commander said.

ISIS retains control over some areas of desert and villages nearby, as well as a town and some other villages in adjacent areas of Iraq, and in scattered pockets elsewhere in both countries.

Continuing threat
Despite its losses, ISIS still has a territorial presence in Libya and elsewhere, and many governments expect it to remain a threat even after it loses the caliphate it declared from djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, Iraq, in 2014.

It has already carried out guerrilla operations in both Iraq and in Syria, and has continued to inspire lone bully boyz to attack civilian targets in the West.

In Syria, the end of major operations against ISIS may only prefigure a new phase of the war, as the rival forces which have seized territory from the bully boyz square off.

The Syrian army, alongside Hezbollah and other Shi’ite militias, and backed by Iran and Russia, have seized swathes of central and eastern Syria in the advance against ISIS this year.

Russian official media have in recent weeks reported a surge of strategic bombing and cruise missile strikes on ISIS targets in eastern Syria as the army advanced.

A US-backed coalition has supported a rival campaign by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), an alliance of Kurdish and Arab militias that have pushed ISIS from much of the country’s north and east.

New phase of war
The Syrian government has sworn to recapture territory held by the SDF, including ISIS’s former capital Raqqa and oil and gas fields east of the Euphrates.

In areas controlled by the SDF in northern Syria, Kurdish-led groups have established autonomy, announcing elections and setting internal policies.

On Tuesday, Bouthaina Shaaban, a senior adviser to Assad, described the US forces aiding the SDF as illegal invaders. Washington has not spelled out how its military support for the SDF would evolve after ISIS’s defeat.

Shaaban also pointed, in a television interview, to the example of Iraq, where the government retaliated against an autonomous Kurdish region after it held an independence referendum.

Iraqi military officials say small groups of ISIS bully boyz are still entrenched in the town of Rawa and the border desert strip with Syria. Scattered villages near al-Qaim, close to Al Bukamal, are still under krazed killer control in an area called Rummana.

The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), an alliance of militias, earlier on Wednesday denied it had crossed the Syrian border and was attacking al Bukamal.

"Our movements are carried out under orders from the commander in chief of the armed forces and our key objective is to liberate Iraq’s territories from ISIS. We have no orders to cross the borders," PMF front man Ahmed al-Asadi said.

AU to Reduce Troops in Somalia by 1,000 this Year
[AnNahar] The African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
's mission in Somalia has said it will withdraw 1,000 troops fighting jihadists in the country this year, as part of plans to pull out all soldiers by December 2020.

In a statement released Tuesday, the AU's special representative for Somalia Francisco Madeira called for urgent support to enable the national army to take over responsibility for the country's security.

"Troop movements have started in different parts of the country and will continue for the coming weeks," Madeira said.

"This is a process of realignment to effect the reduction in numbers and also begin the handover process of national security responsibility to the Somali National Security Forces."

African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops deployed to Somalia in 2007 to defend the internationally-backed government against attacks by the Shabaab, an al-Qaeda affiliate still carrying out attacks on civilian, military and government targets in the capital Mogadishu and elsewhere.

In 2016 the African Union announced an exit strategy which would see some 22,000 troops withdraw and hand over control of security to the national army.

Currently the bloated and largely ineffective Somali army is more a collection of clan militias, with various international militaries providing poorly-coordinated training to different units.

"The forces urgently need to be equipped with necessary weapons, key logistical support including timely payment of stipends, provision of quality medical care, establishment of key infrastructure including barracks and training centres among others," said Madeira.

He said that the drawdown would be gradual and would ensure the security of the country is not disrupted.

The Shabaab lost its foothold in Mogadishu in 2011, but has continued its fight, and was blamed for the country's worst ever attack in which a truck bombing left 358 dead in the capital last month.

Two weeks later an attack on a hotel left 27 dead, prompting the government to sack its police and intelligence chiefs.

Shortly before his dismissal, intelligence agency boss Abdillahi Mohammed Sanbalooshe wrote an op-ed in the New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

criticising international partners for not responding to Somali requests for technical and training expertise to analyse forensic evidence after attacks like the October 14 bombing.

In the statement, the party accused Supreme Court judges not only of trying to influence the lower courts ‐ saying that this was the opinion of several unnamed "legal experts" ‐ but also of giving a judgement on the ongoing corruption references against the Sharif family before they have been completed.

"The detailed judgement is a very unfortunate example of malice, hostility, anger and provocation from beginning to the end," the party said.

Putting to rest any speculation that Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf, then by the courts...
and family had been convinced to desist from attacking state institutions, the statement used unusually harsh language to criticise the Supreme Court on being unable to deliver justice.

"The caravans were looted because oaths were taken over the bandidos' hands," the statement alleged, invoking the Provisional Constitution Order imposed during dictator Pervaiz Musharraf's regime.

The "caravans looted by bandidos" reference was a response to a verse quoted in the Supreme Court's judgement the day earlier, which the PML-N seems to have taken particular offense at.

Muslim College Student Who Lied About Trump Supporters Attacking Her On NY Subway Pleads Guilty
[DailyWire] On Friday, Yasmin Seweid, 19, the Muslim college student at Baruch College who lied to police, telling them she had been harassed on the New York subway by white men who attempted to seize her hijab, pleaded guilty to falsely reporting an incident and disorderly conduct.

Seweid had claimed the incident occurred on the No. 6 train on Dec. 1, 2016. She told The New York Daily News that three drunk white men screamed “Donald Trump!” and hurled anti-Islam slurs at her, then tried to rip her hijab off of her head. She stated, “I heard them say something very loudly, something about Donald Trump ... I also heard them say the word terrorist and I sort of got a little scared.” She added that they said, “Oh look, a (expletive) terrorist … Get the hell out of the country! You don’t belong here!” She said when she tried to ignore them, they pulled on her bag to get her attention and the strap broke. “That’s when I turned around and said ‘can you please leave me alone,’ and they started laughing,” she said.

Days later, Seweid went missing, prompting a search for her.

Seweid was arrested on December 14 on charges of filing a false report and obstructing governmental administration. Police sources stated Seweid lied because she didn’t want to get in trouble for breaking her curfew after being out late drinking with friends.

In court, Seweid wrote an apology that was read by the prosecutor that read, "I was stupid. I plan to continue to find ways to better myself." She had already stated that she wasted police resources when she made the claim, which she made because she had missed her family’s curfew.

Seweid must take six months of counseling and complete three days of community service.

Hariri and the doses of poison
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Lebanese equation is very complicated. A thorny marriage and a forbidden divorce. Some leaders find themselves faced with cups of poison whenever the equation becomes unbalanced due to an external storm or an internal adventure. They clash and each tries to eliminate the other.

You then find yourself forced to live with him in the street, parliament or government. You say that you will not shake the hand that has been tarnished with the blood of your loved ones or allies. The equation however forces you into a handshake that you sought to avoid.

#2  1. Remind China a war in NKOR will screw them far worse than us. Refugees will head north.

2. Let China also know we will stay in our seats if they decide to assassinate, depose and otherwise launch a coup that will remove Kim Jong Un. Even if it just removes him to Uganda, or Ulaan Bator with an unlimited Amex Card.

3. Let China know we are willing to provide aid to a new government if that new government is non-nuclear, and we might even be persuaded to let the Chinese deliver the aid (graft)

4. Remind China that our best option is to preemptively strike, with tactical nukes, all that NKOR arty that can range Seoul, in addition to taking out command centers, and most importantly missile launch centers. And the mess this makes will be China's problem more than it will be ours in terms of the radiation and fallout.

They can do the math.

Indian teenager kills schoolmate to postpone exams
[DAWN] India incarcerated
You have the right to remain silent...
a teenager on Wednesday for allegedly slitting the throat of a seven-year-old schoolmate in hopes the murder would lead to an exam being postponed, federal Sherlocks said.

The 16-year-old is accused of killing his young schoolmate in September at a smart private school near Delhi in an attempt to delay an impending test and parent-teacher meeting.

Police had initially detained a bus conductor over the murder, claiming he killed the boy after the young pupil resisted a sex attack.

But a front man for federal Sherlocks said they had credible evidence against the "academically weak teenager, whose motive was to postpone the examination and a forthcoming parent-teacher meeting".

"He admitted during questioning that he wanted to shut the school to defer the exams and meeting," Central Bureau of Investigation front man R.K. Gaur told AFP.

troops that it said killed six soldiers.

The Nusrat al-Islam wal Moslemeen (NIM) said in statements that it had attacked a police post in Segou on Sunday, capturing weapons and a cycle of violence.

On Monday, "fighters ambushed Malian and MINUSMA (UN mission in Mali) forces near the city of Konna in Mopti, killing six soldiers," according to a report carried by the US monitoring group SITE.

"Other fighters bombed a Malian convoy tasked with securing an area near Niafunke in Timbuktu in preparation for a visit by a local leader," it said.

Prime Minister Abdoulaye Idrissa Maiga cancelled a planned visit on Monday to the central town after a vehicle sent to protect his team hit a landmine.

Also on Monday, police and administrative officials said 10 people, including nine civilians, had died in attacks in northern and central Mali.

They included five civilian passengers aboard a bus blown up by a mine near Ansongo -- an incident that was not claimed in the NIM statements.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Mahamat Saleh Annadif, the head of MINUSMA, lashed the jihadist assailants as "drugged fanatics" and "outlaws".

He called on Malians to become "collectively aware" of "cowards (who) mix with the peaceful population, discretely melt into the background before carrying out their plans."

The bomber detonated his explosives at the gates of the building, killing one security guard, while one of the three assailants slipped into the compound and killed an employee. At least 20 people were maimed in the attack.

The Lion of Islams, who wore police uniforms, battled for three hours with security forces, forcing the station to halt its broadcast and filling Kabul with the sound of gunfire and kabooms. Shamshad TV was back on the air within hours, however, with one presenter appearing with bandaged hands.

The Islamic State claimed the assault through its online Amaq News Agency.

Iraqi forces launch new attack north of Qaim

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi troops have launched an offensive to liberate an Islamic State-held region, north of the recently-freed Qaim town in Anbar, a paramilitary official said on Wednesday.

“Offensive to free al-Rummana, north of Qaim, was launched on Wednesday with participation of security troops and tribes,” Qutri al-Obeidi, a senior leader with al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) in al-Baghdadi region in Anbar, told AlSumaria News.

“Troops managed to free al-Rummana bridge, which links the center of the region to Qaim,” Obeidi said indicating troops advance to free it from IS militants.

Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi announced on Friday liberation of Qaim in record time.

Many IS militants reportedly fled Qaim heading to al-BuKamal in Syria, after several leaders ran away and were killed in airstrikes by the Iraqi and U.S.-Coalition jets.

Operations were launched, late October, to liberate Qaim and Rawa towns. Both have been held by the extremist group since 2014, when it occupied one third of Iraq to proclaim a self-styled Islamic “Caliphate”.

Iraqi forces have managed, so far, to retake Mosul, the group’s former capital, the town of Tal Afar, west of Nineveh, Kirkuk’s town of Hawija and Anbar’s Annah and Qaim.

Elements of the Iraqi 8th Division stop ISIS suicide attack near Qaim

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Security troops have managed to thwart an attack by Islamic State using a booby-trapped vehicle in north of Qaim in Anbar, security source said on Tuesday.

Speaking to Alghad Press, the source said, “the eighth division repulsed an IS attack launched by a booby-trapped vehicle in al-Rummana, north of Qaim.”

“Security services targeted a vehicle before it reached to forces deployed on al-Rummana bridge,” the source added.

The Joint Operations Command denied earlier on Wednesday launching clearance operations in Rummana, warning media agencies from reporting news that harms the military plans of the operations.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Palestinian Police Chief: Hamas Must Disarm under Unity Deal
[AnNahar] The head of the Paleostinian police said Wednesday that Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, must disarm to allow a landmark reconciliation deal signed last month with rivals Fatah to succeed.

Hazem Atallah's comments came as cracks began to show in the Paleostinian reconciliation deal mediated by Egypt over the issue of security control of the Gazoo Strip.

The Paleostinian Authority (PA) is due to retake control of the Gazoo Strip, currently still run by Islamist movement Hamas, by December 1.

"We are talking about one authority, one law, one gun," Atallah told journalists in Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, echoing a line from Paleostinian President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
Asked whether he could allow Hamas' armed wing to maintain their weapons while being in charge of police in Gazoo, he said: "No way."

"It is impossible. How can I do security when there are all these rockets and guns and whatever? Is this possible? It doesn't work.

"Otherwise how can I be in charge? Who is going to be standing and saying 'I am the chief of police, I am in charge,' if I am not controlling everything?"

He said the 8,000-9,000 Paleostinian police who worked in Gazoo before Hamas took over in 2007 would return to their posts, rejecting the idea of merging with the existing Hamas-led police.

This, he added, would need major financial support as the police's budget would effectively double.

Last month the two political parties signed an Egyptian-brokered reconciliation agreement under which Hamas is meant to hand over control of Gazoo by December 1.

The agreement signed in Cairo does not specify the future for Hamas' vast armed wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades. Hamas has so far refused to disarm.

On November 1, Hamas handed over control of border crossings in a first key test.

But in a sign of tension, Paleostinian prime minister Rami Hamdallah said Tuesday the PA still did not have full control of the crossings, with Hamas dominating the police and security inside Gazoo.

Hamas rejected that, with a statement saying it had fully transferred power.
