New DoD Interceptor Destroys Multiple ICBMs, Decoys at Once
The Pentagon is developing an emerging technology able to track, target and destroy approaching ICBMs and decoys simultaneously - by attaching a new Multi-Object Kill

The Pentagon is developing an emerging technology able to track, target and destroy approaching ICBMs and decoys simultaneously - by attaching a new Multi-Object Kill Vehicle, or MOKV, to a Ground Based Interceptor.

Development of the MOVK is intended to evolve from existing tests with the EKV, however industry and Pentagon developers do not want to rush the system in order to ensure it is well suited to destroy emerging threats anticipated five, ten or more years from now, Norm Montano, Raytheon EKV Program Director, told Scout Warrior in an interview last year.

While spoken many months ago, Montano's comments bear even greater relevance now - as tensions with North Korea rise quickly and many analyze the regime's fast-advancing ability to hit US targets with an ICBM.

"The threat is evolving. North Korea is frequently testing. You can't underestimate the learning that they are doing. We don't want to rush MOKV. We want to get there and get there right," Montano said. "If we move too fast we might not get all the learning that we need."

Decoys or countermeasures are missile-like structures, objects or technologies designed to throw off or confuse the targeting and guidance systems of an approaching interceptor in order to increase the probability that the actual missile can travel through to its target.

If the seeker or guidance systems of a "kill vehicle" technology on a Ground Base Interceptor, or GBI, cannot discern an actual nuclear-armed ICBM from a decoy ‐ the dangerous missile is more likely to pass through and avoid being destroyed. MOKV is being developed to address this threat scenario.

"We will develop and test MOKV command and control strategies in both digital and hardware-in-the-loop venues that will prove we can manage the engagements of many kill vehicles on many targets from a single interceptor. We will also invest in the communication architectures and guidance technology that support this game-changing approach," a spokesman for the Missile Defense Agency, told Scout Warrior in a previous written statement.

]The Missile Defense Agency has awarded MOKV development deals to Boeing, Lockheed and Raytheon as part of a risk-reduction phase able to move the technology forward, officials said.

Steve Nicholls, Director of Advanced Air & Missile Defense Systems for Raytheon, told Scout Warrior last year that the MOKV is being developed to provide the MDA with "a key capability for its Ballistic Missile Defense System - to discriminate lethal objects from countermeasures and debris. The kill vehicle, launched from the ground-based interceptor extends the ground-based discrimination capability with onboard sensors and processing to ensure the real threat is eliminated."

Continues.

Dopey Woman with "F–k Trump and F–K You for Voting For Him" Arrested on Outstanding Fraud Warrant
[JammieWearingFool] Memo to the fearless "Resistance" members out there. If you plan on making a public spectacle of yourself because you can’t handle the results of an election, make sure you don’t have any outstanding arrest warrants.

What a dolt.

The driver of a pickup displaying an expletive-filled message to President Donald Trump and his supporters in the Houston area was arrested Thursday on an outstanding warrant.

Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office records show Karen Fonseca was arrested about 2 p.m. Thursday on an outstanding fraud warrant issued in August by the Rosenberg Police Department. She remained in the county jail Thursday night with bond set at $1,500.

A sheriff’s spokesman has not answered a message seeking details behind the warrant.

Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls had threatened Fonseca with a disorderly conduct charge over the decal. However, District Attorney John Healey said he didn’t think it would have been a prosecutable case.

Fonseca had said she would not remove the decal. She said she had been stopped by law officers, but that they have no grounds to issue a citation.

"It’s not to cause hate or animosity,"
No, of course not.
the 46-year-old Fonseca told the Houston Chronicle. "It’s just our freedom of speech and we’re exercising it."

Sure, no hate or animosity, just fuck you for voting for someone I don’t like or something.

Nehls on Wednesday posted a photo of the truck message on Facebook alongside a request to speak with the driver.

Nehls in his post said that a county prosecutor told him the message could warrant a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. But at a news conference later Wednesday, he seemed to back away from that idea. Nehls said he supports freedom of speech but worried that profane messages could incite others and lead to confrontations that would disturb the peace he’s pledged to keep.

A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office, which covers the county just southwest of Houston, said Thursday that Nehls’ post was removed once the pickup driver was identified.

"Due to the hate messages he has been receiving toward his wife and children, the sheriff will not be commenting on the matter further," spokeswoman Caitilin Espinosa said by email.

On the upside for Fonseca, she’s sure to become a celebrity once she makes bail, and is sure to do all the national TV rounds basking in her new-found fame.
Sometimes, it does not pay to advertise.

Turkey pulls troops out of NATO drill after Ataturk's name and photo was used in "enemy chart"
Zerohedge reports that Turkey has withdrawn its troops from a NATO military drill in Norway after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday that his name and the picture of Turkish Republic’s founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk were used in an "enemy chart".

Anadolu Agency confirms from Ankara that Turkey has withdrawn its troops from a NATO military drill in Norway...

"There was an incident in Norway," Erdogan told ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party members in capital Ankara.

"They used an enemy chart in Norway. In that chart, there was my name and [Mustafa Kemal] Ataturk’s picture."

The president said he was informed about the issue by Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar and EU Affairs Minister Omer Celik.

Non-Turks don't understand the reverence held of Mr. Ataturk by his countrymen. It was (is?) against Turkish law to, in any way, defame the leader of modern (pre-Erdogan) Turkey. Think George Washington circa 1855.

Three Ohio pastors indicted for trafficking young girls for sex
[FOX59] A third Ohio pastor has been indicted on sex trafficking charges, and prosecutors say all three men worked together to entice underage girls with money in exchange for sex.

A federal grand jury in Toledo has indicted the Rev. Cordell Jenkins, the Rev. Anthony Haynes and the Rev. Kenneth Butler on conspiracy to sex traffic children. All three men pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
Tuesday.

The US Attorney’s Office says Haynes began grooming a 14-year-old girl for prostitution in 2014. Prosecutors say Haynes introduced her to other men and all three of the pastors sexually assaulted her.

Jenkins and Haynes were previously indicted on child sex trafficking charges in July.

An attorney representing Jenkins tells WTVG-TV her client understands he is facing "very serious allegations."

Pentagon "Mistakenly" Retweets Post Calling For Trump To Resign
Defense Secretary James Mattis will get an earful from his boss this morning, after an "authorized user" of the Pentagon Twitter account retweeted ‐ and then swiftly deleted - a tweet calling for President Donald Trump to resign after the president slammed Sen. Al Franken while remaining silent about Alabama Sen. Candidate Roy Moore.

Pentagon spokesman Col. Rob Manning said in a statement that an authorized operator of the Defense Department's official Twitter site "erroneously retweeted content that would not be endorsed by the Department of Defense. The operator caught this error and immediately deleted it."

The White House’s official position on allegations that Moore had inappropriate sexual contact with at least seven women when they were teenagers ‐ one of whom was just 14 at the time ‐ is that the Alabama voters should decide his fate. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has threatened to expel Moore should he win the seat.
Yeah, ZeroHedge, but they post the goods.

Sudan cutting trade, military ties to North Korea, US says
[IsraelTimes] Move would be major victory for Trump effort to isolate Pyongyang, as Khartoum and Washington court improved relationship at Israel's behest.

State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said Sudan is taking the step due to the "critical threat" posed by the North’s nuclear program. She said the United States welcomed the decision, which was announced after a visit to Khartoum by Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan.

That visit came as the US and Sudan, encouraged by Israel and Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, moved to improve ties after decades of hostility.

The Trump administration has been pushing foreign countries to reduce economic, diplomatic and other ties to Pyongyang in an effort to further isolate the country and bring it back to the negotiating table. In recent weeks, the administration has been targeting African and South Asian nations and several have agreed.

Sudan has been a particular focus of the effort as part of an attempt to improve ties between Washington and Khartoum that has led to a lifting of some US sanctions against Sudan.

Thursday’s announcement came ahead of a decision expected soon for the US to re-list North Korea as a "state sponsor of terrorism," a designation that President George W. Bush’s administration removed in 2008 as it sought a diplomatic agreement to halt Pyongyang’s atomic weapons program.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders told news hounds on Thursday she expected a decision on North Korea’s status to be made early next week. The administration had missed an early November congressional deadline to make a decision on the designation but said it would make a determination after the conclusion of President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s just-concluded visit to Asia.

Sudan is one of only three countries ‐ the others are Iran and Syria ‐ that are currently designated state sponsors of terrorism by the State Department, a label that carries economic and financial sanctions. The announcement of Sudan cutting ties with North Korea will likely help its case to be removed from the list.

However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
a senior State Department official said the potential changes to Sudan’s and North Korea’s designations are not directly related and that reviews of both countries are proceeding independently.

The official, who was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity, said a determination on Sudan would likely depend on how well it implements its pledge to cut ties with North Korea.

Syria activists: 22 civilians die in fighting near Damascus
They're still killing each other. One of these years they'll stop.
[IsraelTimes] Syrian activists and a monitoring group say almost two dozen civilians have been killed in the last three days of fighting in the suburb of the capital, Damascus, along with dozens of government forces and rebels.

The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says that since Tuesday, 22 civilians died from government shelling and bombardment of the rebel-held Eastern Ghouta suburb.

It says 29 pro-government fighters have been killed while scores of rebels were killed or maimed. The fighting is the latest breach of a local truce, brokered by Russia, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
and Iran.

The activist-run Ghouta Media Center says 15 non-combatants were killed on Wednesday, when Ahrar al-Sham
...a Syria jihadi group made up of Islamists and salafists, not that there's that much difference, formed into a brigade. They make up the main element of the Islamic Front but they don't profess adoration of al-Qaeda and they've been fighting (mainly for survival) against the Islamic State. Their leadership was wiped out at a single blow by a suicide kaboom at a crowded basement meeting in September, 2014...
rebel faction penetrated into a Syrian military compound in the area to battle pro-government fighters there. The fighting is still underway.

IDF chief surprised by Hariri resignation, says Hezbollah is cash-strapped
[IsraelTimes] Regarding the sudden resignation of former Lebanese prime minister Saad Hariri
Second son of Rafik Hariri, the Leb PM who was assassinated in 2005. He has was prime minister in his own right from 2009 through early 2011. He was born in Riyadh to an Iraqi mother and graduated from Georgetown University. He managed his father's business interests in Riyadh until his father's assassination. When his father died he inherited a fortune of some $4.1 billion, which won't do him much good if Hizbullah has him bumped off, too.
last week, Eisenkot says the move was "complicated" and "surprising."

Hariri said he quit due to an alleged Iranian plan to assassinate him.

Eisenkot says the move also reflects a decline in support for Hezbollah among the Lebanese, and notes, "Hezbollah is beginning to feel financial pressure and starting to get into big material problems."

Is Gaza tunnel era coming to an end?
[Ynet] Analysis: Following the recent tunnel demolition, part of Gazoo’s military leadership feels it would be illogical to keep investing huge sums in the tunnels now that Israel has effective ways of dealing with them, not mention the underground barrier being built along the border.

Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot’s main work directive to the IDF for 2018, the last year of his term, is to destroy all border-crossing tunnels‐both those Israel is aware of and those it isn’t aware of yet‐which have been dug or are being dug from the Gazoo Strip into Israel.

Eisenkot was able to issue such an order due to the fact that three years after Operation Protective Edge, the army has obtained the technology and the means to allow an effective detection and destruction of tunnels in general and of border-crossing tunnels in particular.

Egypt police arrest Libyan national involved in October's Wahat shootout: Ministry
[AlAhram] Egypt's Ministry of Interior said in a statement on Thursday said that security forces jugged
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
Mohammed Abdullah Mosmary, a Libyan national who was involved in the Wahat shootout in October, where 16 Egyptian coppers were killed during a raid on a terrorist camp in the Western Desert.

The ministry said that Mosmary, a resident of Libya's Derna born in 1992, is the member of a cell formed in Derna by leading terrorist figure Emad El-Din Mahmoud Abdel-Hamid, who was killed in an Arclight airstrike by Egyptian forces on terrorist hideouts in the Western desert.

The members of the cell received training in Libya before sneaking into Egypt to a training camp in El-Wahat, recruiting 29 new members from Giza and Qalioubiya, the statement said.

Investigations also revealed that members of the cell were involved in the May attack on buses carrying Coptic Christians in Upper Egypt's Minya governorate, which killed 28 people.

Eleven coppers, four conscripts and one sergeant were killed in the 20 October shootout while raiding a terrorist training camp in the Bahariya Oasis, about 135 kilometres (83 miles) southwest of Cairo. The Ministry of Interior said that 15 bad boyz were potted during the shootout.

Following the shootout, Egyptian military and police forces launched a number of joint operations targeting terrorist hideouts in the Western Desert area, killing a number of bandidos forces of Evil involved in the shootout.

A little known group affiliated with al-Qaeda grabbed credit for the Wahat incident in a statement online, stating that its leader Abdel-Hamid was killed by Egyptian air forces.

The terrorist group ISIS had grabbed credit for the Minya attack in May.

Britain says no link between 400 million pound debt owed to Iran and jailed aid worker
[Ynet] British Prime Minister Theresa May's front man said on Thursday there was no link between a 400 million pound ($528 million) debt owed to Iran and the fate of a enjugged

Iranian-British aid worker.

The Sun newspaper reported on Wednesday that Iran had given Britannia a series of demands for the release of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a project manager with the Thomson Rooters Foundation.

The demands from Iran included an insistence Britannia must pay 400 million pounds which the former Shah of Iran paid in 1979 for 1,750 Chieftan tanks and other vehicles, almost none of which were eventually delivered.
We wondered why they wanted precisely that amount.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
No. 2 at northern branch of the Islamic Movement returns to al-Aqsa
[Ynet] Sheikh Kamal Khatib allowed back on Temple Mount after being barred for 3 years, sends out a warning to Israel: 'You thought you could keep the people from the al-Aqsa Mosque, but you saw what happened last July when you tried to put metal detectors and cameras at the gates of the mosque.'
Trouble to follow, followed by another arrest, trial, conviction, jailing, and barring. The man and his movement are scorpions, as predictable as the sun rising.
Sheikh Kamal Khatib, the deputy leader of the outlawed northern branch of the Islamic Movement,
... the Israeli branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. The terror-supporting northern branch is based in the town of Umm al-Fahm...
returned to the al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday after being barred from the Temple Mount for three years and used the opportunity to issue a threat to Israel.

Khatib was barred from the complex after inciting violence in media interviews and in sermons at mosques.

He is considered the most prominent figure in the movement since its leader, Sheikh Raed Salah, was tossed in the slammer
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
until the end of legal proceedings against him as he too faces incitement charges.

"I am returning to the al-Aqsa Mosque after three years in which I was prevented from coming to the mosque and to Jerusalem," he said in a video filmed at the complex. "This decision prevented the 'landlord' from entering to his home. The Israeli occupier is preventing us from entering the al-Aqsa mosque."

Khatib continued with a threat, "I want to tell Israel: Your decision to ban the Islamic Movement is unjust. You thought you could keep the people from the al-Aqsa Mosque, but you saw what happened last July when you tried to put metal detectors and cameras at the gates of the mosque."

Israel added security measures at the Temple Mount after three Israeli Arab faceless myrmidons from Umm al-Fahm shot up a police patrol from the complex, killing two Israeli coppers, Ha'il Satawi and Kamil Shnaan. The additional security measures led to rioting in east Jerusalem and across the country.

Before being barred from al-Aqsa, Khatib made similar warnings, saying, "The continuous harm done to the al-Aqsa Mosque and opening it to Jews has led to great anger. If talk of dividing the mosque area continues, the situation would explode not just in Jerusalem but in the entire region and the whole world. The Paleostinian people will not remain silent. (Prime ministers) Rabin and Sharon are gone, but the al-Aqsa Mosque remains. (Prime Minister) Netanyahu will also go, and the mosque will remain."

Maor Tzemach, founder of the movement "For You, Jerusalem," condemned the decision to allow Khatib to return to the Temple Mount. "This decision constitutes the crossing of a red line in the fight against incitement. Khatib is among the leaders of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement, incites against the State of Israel on a regular basis and organized a support rally for Sheikh Raed Salah in Umm al-Fahm," he said.

'World's oldest' 48-feet long Buddha statue unearthed in Haripur district
[DAWN] A centuries-old 'sleeping Buddha' statue has been unearthed during excavations near Bhamala Stupa in Haripur district, DawnNews reported on Thursday.
Going from the picture, the workmanship's Hellenic, or heavily Hellenic influenced.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Directorate of Archaeology And Museums Director Dr Abdul Samad said,"The 48-feet long 'sleeping Buddha' statue dates back to the third century, which makes it the world's oldest 'sleeping Buddha' statue."

He told DawnNews that archaeologists found the statue, with its head intact, during excavations near the Bhamala Stupa.

"We have discovered more than 500 Buddha-related objects during excavations, in addition to the 48-feet long 'sleeping Buddha'," he said.

The latest discoveries by the archaeologists have opened new chapters in the history of the ancient Taxila Valley Civilisation.

"This is one of the few sites in the world to have the cruciform Stupa, which was reserved for Buddha himself," Samad had earlier told Dawn.

Soros Money, Muslim Advocates Leader, Helped Weaken Homeland Security Policies
[CounterJihadReport] A Muslim legal group, girded with $1.8 million in grant money from George Soros’s Open Society Foundations (OSF), has helped influence major policy changes in the war on terror, including the Department of Homeland Security’s screening of individuals with suspected terror ties and the FBI’s training program for its agents working in counterterrorism.

Internal records, made public by the hacking group DC Leaks, show OSF spent $40 million between 2008 and 2010 on programs aimed at weakening U.S. counterterrorism policy.

Muslim Advocates’ Executive Director Farhana Khera played a key role in shaping the foundations’ spending. Khera co-authored a 2007 memo that “informed” the foundations’ U.S. Programs Board’s decision to create the National Security and Human Rights Campaign (NSHRC), a Sept. 14, 2010 OSF document discussing the program’s reauthorization, shows.

Muslim Advocates was founded in 2005 as an offshoot of the National Association of Muslim Lawyers. It often criticizes U.S. counterterrorism strategies that use sting operations and informants as discriminatory.

Senators strike gun background check deal in wake of church shooting
There go the muzzle loaders.
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Key Republicans and Democrats announced a significant gun bill Thursday, striking a deal to push federal agencies to report more domestic violence records to the gun-buying background check system.

The deal includes Sen. John Cornyn, a Texas Republican whose state suffered the recent tragic church shooting, as well as Sens. Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal, two Democrats from Connecticut who have been among the most prominent gun-control supporters.

"For years agencies and states haven’t complied with the law, failing to upload these critical records without consequence," Mr. Cornyn said.

The new bill would punish agencies that fail to report their records on domestic violence to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), which screens gun purchases from licensed firearms dealers.

It also pushes states to report more records.

War reporter dies near Qaim
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A war correspondent has been killed while covering military operations in west of Anbar, the pro-government paramilitary troops announced on Thursday.

“The war correspondent and media official of the 13th brigade of al-Hashd al-Shaabi [Popular Mobilization Forces] was killed while accompanying security troops during operation in Qaim and Iraqi-Syrian borders,” the media service said.

The photojournalist Montather Adel, who was accompanying Rana al-Ojaili, the correspondent, was injured,” the statement added.

Iraqi troops capture al-Sa’eedan region
Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Security troops have liberated a region, held by Islamic State militants in their last stronghold in Anbar, a security source from Jazeera Operations Command said.

“Iraqi troops raised the flag above buildings in al-Sa’eedan region, northwest of Rawa, after liberating it. The militants booby-trapped the buildings and roads,” the source told SNG website on Thursday.

“Troops, backed by army jets, managed to kill many IS members,” he said indicating collapse of the militant group’s defense.

In related news, the Iraqi army announced erecting a floating bridge between Annah and Rawa.

“Army started erecting a floating bridge between Annah and Rawa in western Anbar ahead of invading Rawa,” Maj. Gen. Noaman al-Zawba’ie, commander of the seventh division, told Alghad Press.

“The bridges between the two towns are destroyed and cannot be used at the meantime. Thus, another one will be set up so that troops could pass toward Rawa,” he added.

Thirteen villages were freed, while forty-five IS members and two suicide bombers were killed in three days in western Anbar, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by the War Media Cell.

Man confesses to setting wife alight for refusing to permit second marriage in Tank district
[DAWN] A man in Tank district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday confessed to dousing his wife in petrol and setting her afire last month following a domestic altercation, Superintendent of Police (SP) Gul Naseeb told DawnNews.

The woman died in Tank’s Christian Hospital on Saturday after remaining admitted there for 20 days. The burning incident had occurred on October 23.

The police had started the paperwork but haven't done much else on the complaint of Mohammad Khan, father of the woman, saying that her husband, Faiz Mohammad, "doused my daughter in petrol and burnt her alive" after she refused to allow him for a second marriage.

He told the police the accused had kidnapped his daughter and had forcibly married her one-and-half years ago, and the couple had a two-month-old daughter.

The complainant said the dear departed had told her mother when she visited her in the hospital that she had been burnt by her husband after she refused to allow him a second marriage. The victim’s mother did not disclose the matter for fear of the family of the accused, he added.

Caribbean-Latin America
Haiti owes Venezuela $2 billion -- and much of it was embezzled, Senate report says
[MIAMIHERALD] A special Haitian Senate commission is accusing more than a dozen former government officials and heads of private firms of embezzling $2 billion in Venezuelan oil loans ‐ money that could have helped the country rebuild after its devastating earthquake in 2010.

An anti-corruption investigation concluded that charges should be filed against two former prime ministers, several ex-ministers and the owners of private firms on grounds they misappropriated and embezzled money that left post-quake Haiti with unfinished government buildings, poorly constructed housing and overpriced public works contracts.

The nearly $2 billion that was paid out came from the country’s Venezuelan oil largess, known as PetroCaribe. It provides Haiti and several other cash-strapped Caribbean countries with subsidized oil on favorable financing terms. The debt is stretched over a 25-year period with a 1 percent interest rate and a two- to three-year grace period allowing the countries to use the savings to finance social and economic projects.

"It can be declared that the PETROCARIBE has been the object of embezzlement, embezzlement, embezzlement and prevarication on the part of those indexed in this report," the commission’s report concluded.

#8  The Congress could have some sort of replacement ready that covered the otherwise uninsurable and be heros.

I have a huge problem with the notion of repeal and replace. It's pretty clear to me that Obamacare is a colossal and intentional failure, so we're gonna replace one stinker with another? If by replace we mean 'remove shit laws and regulations and allow the market to work', then that should be the solution, and leave it to the states to resolve the uninsured 'problem'.
Posted by: Raj || 11/17/2017 13:08 Comments || Top||

#9  Only replace the part that covers the super-poor and previously existing conditions. Make it an extension of VA services and then pump money into the VA so. Then nobody would dare allow the VA to be misrule or underfunded again.

I believe that is the only way to make the repeal politically palatable because it's too easy to mischaracterize everything after they let it linger on this long.

South Wazoo ‘Peace committee’ slaps Taliban-style curbs on Wana
[DAWN] WANA: A faction of the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
has apparently made a comeback to Wana, South Wazoo Agency, under the guise of a peace committee and placed a ban on cultural and social activities and put restrictions on movement of women outside their homes without male members of their family.

The so-called peace committee has issued tough guidelines through pamphlets in Wana town and warned local people to abide by these rules otherwise violators would face repercussions, according to sources.

The committee has banned music, athan, a traditional dance which is performed in wedding ceremonies or other festive occasions, and use of narcotics.

According to the committee’s guidelines, those activities which promote immorality or violate Islamic teachings would not be permitted on these occasions.

Movement of women outside their homes has been restricted. The pamphlets said that women would not be allowed to visit market and clinic or faith healers without adult male members of their family, including husbands and brothers.

Salahuddin alias Ayubi, a successor of Mullah Muhammad Nazir ‐ an influential Taliban leader ‐ heads the committee.

Mullah Nazir was killed along with his 10 associates in a US dronezap in the Birmil area of South Waziristan Agency in January 2013.

South Waziristan Agency became a hotbed of Talibanisation in 2003 that spilled over to other tribal agencies of Fata and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Local leaders of various Taliban factions had established parallel administration in the area.

Nek Muhammad emerged as the leader of these factions. Security forces carried out multiple operations in the area to crush Taliban and establish the writ of the state. Finally Nek Muhammad signed a peace deal with the government in Shakai. He was killed in a missile attack in 2004.

According to the pamphlets, residents are not allowed to stay outside their homes at public places after 10pm. This step would prevent disturbance and noise in the area, it said.

A leaflet issued by the peace committee claimed that elders and Ulema of Karikot, Ghwa Khwa, Shaheen Warsak, Doog, Dabb Koat, Zari Noor and Sherna had agreed to these steps.

A committee comprising elders and Ulema has been set up to ensure implementation of the ’code of conduct’ and to identify violators of the guidelines. A local holy man, identified as Ameer Ainullah, has been appointed head of the committee.

The secretary of Fata’s law and order, Hassan Mehmood Yousafzai, when approached in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
, expressed ignorance about the activities of the peace committee in Wana. "I do not have such reports. The political agent is in a better position to talk about the matter," he said.

Political Agent Zafar Islam and other officials of the administration were not available to comment on the matter.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Justice League will make you forget why you like superhero movies
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The story that Justice League gives us is a hodgepodge of all the superhero films, the fantasy epics, the space operas and the children’s cartoons you’ve seen and immediately forgotten.
I've been watching a bunch of movies lately, and I have no idea why.
I watched Topper last night -- Cary Grant and Constance Bennett at their best. I watched Stagecoach, Conan, The African Queen, the original Ghostbusters, a bunch of Kurosawa -- Seven Samurai followed immediately by The (original) Magnificent Seven. I couldn't remember which Clint Eastwood movies were rewrites, so I stuck with Yojimbo and and Sanjuro without any western sequels. I've got much of all the Star Wars movies memorized from watching them with my grandson when he was on the kick, and I even watched Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, which is better than all but the first two of the Star Wars pics even if it does have Beyonce in it.

I know, it's more interesting to actually watch them than it is to recount them. But my point is that the movies themselves were pretty original in concept when they first came out. Topper was a very good read, and the movie naturally leaves out some of the funniest parts (like the Colonel and his wife and Otto the dog) but it flows beautifully and it's got its own unique set of laughs, some of which are actually subtle. Now we have a dreary and usually humorless series of superheroes tromping into mostly empty theaters at horribly inflated ticket prices in sequels and prequels and probably postquels and upquels and downquels and quels to all points of the compass, all of them across sets designed by Edgar Allen Poe.

We Have the Right to Know Who’s Involved in Congress’s $15M Sexual Harassment Cover-Up
[MEDIAITE] Ever since the Harvey Weinstein scandal broke, countless men have been accused of sexual misconduct that ranges from verbal harassment, assault, rape, and child molestation. It’s common knowledge that such abuse isn’t just a problem in Hollywood but in our society as a whole. And in recent days, it’s been made clear that it’s a problem in politics.

For the past two weeks, we’ve heard several allegations made against GOP Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore. Multiple women have accused him of making sexual advances when they were teenagers and he was in his 3os. One even accused him of attempted rape.

Two LNA soldiers killed in Derna mine explosion
[Libya Herald] Two soldiers died and one escaped when an Libyan National Army (LNA) patrol came under fire from holy warriors south of Derna.

It is understood that when it was attacked the patrol moved to cover and detonated a mine. The holy warriors then tried to seize the two bodies but the LNA told Libya Channel 24 that they were driven off by other troops who then recovered the two dead men, whose corpses were taken to the hospital at Guba.

Zimbabwe's opposition leader demands civilian rule
[Al Jazeera] The leader Zim-bob-we's largest opposition alliance has called on the world's oldest sitting president to voluntarily step aside as the country entered its second day of a military takeover.

"In the interest of the people, Mr Bob Muggsy Mugabe
Nonagenarian President-for-Life of Zim-bob-we who turned the former Breadbasket of Africa into the African Basket Case...
must resign and step down immediately in line with the national expectation and sentiment," Morgan Tsvangirai said at a presser on Thursday.

Former vice president Joice Mujuru - who was dismissed in 2014 on allegations of plotting against Mugabe - declined to comment on the president's confinement. But she has said the situation highlighted the need to create a transitional administration to oversee free-and-fair elections in the southern African nation.

Former finance minister Tendai Biti echoed Tsvangirai's sentiments on Mugabe's resignation and told Al Jazeera the time had come draw a line in the sand for Mugabe’s 37-year rule.

"Mugabe cannot resist anymore because it will result in those who want him gone using extra-legal means to remove him from power. That will be a very unfortunate end, but you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that it’s inevitable," Biti said in a phone interview.

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) said he will be voting in the Alabama special election next month for Judge Roy Moore, the man who beat him in the primary, because it is important to have conservatives in Congress.

"America faces huge challenges that are vastly more important than contested sexual allegations from four decades ago," Brooks told AL.com in a text message.

Who will vote in America’s best interests on Supreme Court justices, deficit and debt, economic growth, border security, national defense, and the like? Socialist Democrat Doug Jones will vote wrong. Roy Moore will vote right. Hence, I will vote for Roy Moore."

"There are millions of people in America who would lie in a heartbeat if it meant adding another Democrat to the Senate," Brooks said in the text message.

Yeah, and two of them are named Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. Oh, and the Bush family as well.

Maybe it's time to reintroduce "Innocent until proven guilty" into sexual misconduct allegations. And, also, maybe it's time for womyn to become less sensitive. Because, dear, if you think a polite proposition from a man is the same as rape, I'd like to introduce you to my acquaintance Ahmad.
I think a year or two from now the lies will be disproven. The Christmas yearbook signing seems to be combusting into its crudely forged components. The tactic at this point appears to be to throw as much poop as possible, too fast for them to be dealt with, no matter how unlikely.

UNSMIL chief suggests ‘joint tribunals’ for Libyan war crimes
[Libya Herald] The international community should consider joint tribunals to try Libyan war crimes suspects to end the impunity with which individuals are operating UNSMIL chief Ghassan Salamé has told said the UN Security Council.

In in his second report to Salamé also called for a review of the management of Libya’s frozen assets, which he claimed was causing the country the "silent loss" of hundred of millions of dollars.

"Freezing the assets is one thing", he said, "however, their mismanagement is another. We should revisit how Libya’s external wealth and investments are taken care of, so that they are not silently and gradually lost for future generations".

Impunity and lawlessness continued to prevail across the country, he warned, with increasingly heinous crimes being committed every day. He cautioned that murders such as the recent killings by button men in Abyar and Wirshefana and the civilian dead from the Derna Arclight airstrike were shaking popular faith in the political process. He said he was repeating his call for the Libyan authorities to investigate these incidents and hold the perpetrators to account.

"However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
I cannot ignore that such events take place across the country with alarming regularity and I cannot accept that repeated calls for justice go unattended".

Secret FBI Informant on Uranium One Breaks His Silence ‐ And Says He Has Proof Wrongdoing 'Exists'
[IndependentJournalReview] The witness, identified by Reuters as William D. Campbell, worked as a lobbyist for a Russian firm.

Campbell, on the other hand, refuses to stay silent about the issue and plans to testify in front of Congress. But he doesn't just have his testimony, and he alleges to have evidence.

“I have worked with the Justice Department undercover for several years, and documentation relating to Uranium One and political influence does exist, and I have it,” he told Reuters.

Toensing also revealed to Reuters that Campbell informed the government of how corrupt Rosatom was — the Russian firm involved in the Uranium One deal — but that his concerns went ignored.

Baltimore Mayor Reacts To Crime: ‘I Am Deeply Disturbed’
[BALTIMORE.CBSLOCAL] Last week the Baltimore police commissioner was fired up at a presser, Wednesday, the mayor responded to those who are lashing out at her. They say she doesn’t take the violence seriously.

Mayor Catherine Pugh says every time there’s a shooting or murder, her phone rings, and it couldn’t be more disturbing.

Pugh says they’re moving the hiring process along as fast as they can with officers but the City might not feel the impact until next year.

The department said once officers make it through the academy, they are immediately deployed to foot patrol in various communities, including the Inner Harbor.

"Anyone who thinks that I don’t take this seriously or it’s not something alarming to me, this is the most important thing we can do in this city and that’s to reduce the violence," Pugh said.

Pugh fired back at critics Wednesday who question her leadership as Baltimore is closing in on one of it’s deadliest times ever, hitting 300 plus murders for the third year in a row.

"I am deeply disturbed about the violence and this is the number one priority of the City," she said.

Vicious, random attacks like Sebastain Dvorak, who was killed in Canton after a night out with friends, to Kia Martin’s daughter, who was beat down at the Inner Harbor.

"They just don’t understand the pain, terror and hurt that they cause," said Martin.

"I’m actually thinking about moving out of the state," one woman said. "That’s how bad it’s got."

Many are calling for a more obvious presence of police in their communities.

"Unless you have more actively involved law enforcement, then I don’t know how this is going to end," Baltimore resident Steve Bono. "We just can’t keep finger pointing, everyone has to take some responsibility."

Mayor Pugh acknowledges the City is battling a shortage of officers, but that close to 200 individuals have already made it through the hiring process.
I've got a really great idea. Shut down the entire Baltimore City Police Department, the jail, and the criminal courts. Then use the money saved to contract with adjoining counties and the state to handle policing.

Why? That way Baltimore City pols won't have to take any responsibility. They can stand around and poke out their lower lips and complain, with no actual solution to offer and none expected. The aggrieved politicians' constituents can listen to complaints about being exploited and keep voting for them forever with a clear conscience. Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, and maybe Harford Counties, and the state can augment their police and courts and get on with the serious business of actually reducing crime.

The counties have much lower crime rates and (no disrespect intended to BC policemen) higher hiring standard for their officers. They also pay better, with better benefits. Not being beholden to Heronner Da Mare Madame Pugh and the well-entrenched city council, they'll actually be able to do things up to county and state standards. In the event of festivities, it would take three or four county execs and the governor to agree to let the feral youths have a spot to destroy. Perhaps five years from now Baltimore citizens will even be able to enjoy Patterson Park on summer evenings and expect to get home alive and with their money.

Gabby Giffords's Gun Control Group Releases Report Warning of Muzzleloaders, Other Firearms
[FreeBeacon] Former congresswoman Gabby Giffords's gun control group released a report on Wednesday warning of the dangers of muzzle loading rifles, a number of other firearms, and some firearms accessories and calling for new gun control measures targeting the devices.

The group, which recently changed its name from Americans for Responsible Solutions to Giffords, said in a release its report was intended to identify "extremely lethal firearms and devices" that it believes skirt current firearms laws. "Giffords‐the gun violence organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, combat veteran and retired NASA astronaut, Captain Mark Kelly‐are calling on Congress to update federal gun laws so these accessories can’t turn a firearm into a military-style weapon," the group said in a statement.

The report includes nine examples of firearms or firearms products the group feels are a danger to society. The list includes certain kinds of ammunition, trigger devices that increase the rate of fire of a semi-automatic rifle, what the group describes as "high capacity shotguns,"
Double barrel or pump action?
AK and AR style pistols with stabilizing braces, and muzzleloaders. The group said the gun industry is attempting to circumvent the National Firearms Act (NFA) and other federal gun laws through the manufacture of each of the products.

Muzzleloaders, the group said, are dangerous because they are specifically exempted from the NFA and it accuses the gun industry of trying to exploit that exemption.
How many people have been killed by muzzle loaders in the past hundred years?
"These laws prohibit convicted felons and other dangerous people from possessing guns, require gun retailers to be licensed, and require licensed retailers to conduct background checks on purchasers," the report said. "There is one blanket exception to these laws, however: the exception for antique firearms, including muzzleloaders. The gun industry is determined to exploit this exception."
Ah, so. How many people have been killed by muskets in the past hundred years?
Muzzleloaders, which require gunpowder and a projectile to be manually loaded down barrel of the firearm before each shot, and other antique firearms are exempt from the NFA. The antique firearm exemption applies to "any firearm not intended or redesigned for using rim fire or conventional center fire ignition with fixed ammunition and manufactured in or before 1898 and also any firearm using fixed ammunition manufactured in or before 1898, for which ammunition is no longer manufactured in the United States and is not readily available in the ordinary channels of commercial trade," according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
How many people have been killed by muzzle loaders outside of detective novels written by British ladies wearing pince nez (or using lorgnettes) in the past hundred years?
The group views the centuries-old firearms technology, which was rendered obsolete shortly after the Civil War due to advancements in self-contained ammunition cartridges and semi-automatic; self-loading firearms, as dangerous because a silencer can legally be attached to it without the paperwork or tax stamp associated with other firearms silencers.
Is there a difference between "can" and "has been?" I thought there was.
"Cue the .50 caliber muzzleloader, which delivers a particularly lethal .50 caliber round," the report said. "This weapon is designed with a built-in device to suppress its sound.
This secret device, the technological details of which are passed from father to son, is known as a "long barrel."
If any other firearm were built with such a device, it would be subject to the NFA as a silencer. But since this device is designed to suppress the sound of something that is exempt from federal firearms laws, it is not considered a silencer and not subject to the NFA. In fact, it is not subject to any laws at all and can be bought online."
You can make one yourself for only $278. You don't even have to do your own rifling! Such a deal! Get 'em while it's still allowed. Buy now and get a free bump stock kit! But buy at yer own risk -- they don't come with safeties!

The group called on Congress to take action and pass new laws restricting muzzleloaders and the other products outlined in the report.
Stand by for logic:
"Before bump stocks were used to kill 58 people and maim hundreds of others enjoying an outdoor concert, most Americans had never heard of the device," David Chipman, a Giffords senior policy adviser, said in a statement.
I'm trying to envision a muzzle loader with a bump stock... Still trying... Nope.
Congress has the responsibility to look forward not just backward.
Look forward to a new era of muzzle loaded mur-ur-ur-urder!...
It’s time for them to show courage and leadership by drawing a line in the sand and saying they will defend the safety of Americans over an industry trying to line its pockets."
All industries try to line their pockets. It's called "business." I don't think Browning or Smith & Wesson even make muzzle loaders anymore. Why should they? The target (sorry) market's too small. Thompson/Center's the only manufacturer that actually comes to mind, though I'm sure there are others.
When I first heard about this on Tucker, I said "Nah, can't be." So I researched it and found a number of sources referencing it, I said "Nah, Giffords and her pals can't be that stupid." But then I read the Giffords release and, after thinking about it for a bit, figured that if these a$$clowns can get muzzle loaders outlawed, it will, effectively, criminalize guns entirely from the lowest common-denominator up. Or, maybe I'm just not the trusting type.

Shirqat (IraqiNews.com) A mass grave of 20 people executed by Islamic State militants was discovered on Thursday in Salahuddin province, according to a security source.

Mawazin News quoted the source saying that a mass grave with the relics of 20 people was found in the town of Shirqat by a Popular Mobilization Force accompanied by a police intelligence officer, having received a report of its location.

Iraqi forces recaptured Shirqat in September. It was one of Islamic State’s outstanding havens in Iraq. Iraqi troops are currently approaching the recapture of Islamic State’s last stronghold in Iraq: Anbar’s western city of Rawa.

Congressional Payouts For Sexual Harassment Settlements For The Last 20 Years

Makes me wonder what required investigation(s) protocols are followed before the check is cut.

What I found to be interesting in the chart is that the $/awards seem to be growing ominously from $5k a pop in 1997 to better than $100k each this year. And we still have 44 days until the ball drops!

If I sexually abuse/assault/harrass/bother an underling at work, my employer fires me. They don't pay any settlement. I realize that congressweasels can't really be fired. But THEY should pay any settlements out of their own pockets.

Note:I don't have any underlings, so I can't abuse/assault/harrass/bother anyone. Besides when my wife got done with me, I would have wait until I was out of ICU to pay any settlement.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Stepson of Roy Moore Accuser: Accusations ‘One Hundred Percent a Lie’
[BREITBART] Darrel Nelson, the stepson of Republican senatorial candidate Roy Moore accuser Beverly Young Nelson, claims that his stepmother’s accusations are "one hundred percent a lie."

"I know for a fact that there is a lot that that woman does not tell the truth on," Nelson claimed in an in-person interview with Breitbart News. "Do I think that Beverly is trustworthy? No, I really don’t. Could I see her making it up? ...The odds are in that favor."

Beverly Nelson, 55, gave a presser earlier this week at which she claimed that Moore sexually assaulted her in a car in December 1977 or early January 1978 when she was a 16-year-old high school student. Nelson said the alleged assault took place outside a restaurant in Gadsden, Ala., where she says that she worked as a waitress. Nelson is being represented by controversial attorney and women’s rights advocate Gloria Allred.

Darrel Nelson stated that he is not close to his stepmother, but they talk every few months and that they are not on bad terms. He said that he is in regular contact with his father, John Nelson, Beverly’s husband for the past thirteen years.

Darrel Nelson said that his father called him yesterday to ask him to take down a video from Facebook in which he also alleged that his stepmother’s accusations are untrue. Since then, Nelson has posted several more videos doubling down on that claim.

During the interview here in Attalla, Nelson surmised numerous times without offering any evidence that Beverly Nelson was getting paid to make the accusations against Moore.

"There is a lot of details that just does not add up," he stated. "Do I believe that she is being paid? I have got a feeling that that is so."

"It’s got to be money. Financially, I really do believe that she is out for the money part. Somebody is paying somebody. It seems awful funny. Twenty-five days or so until the election. Why wait until just now to start doing all of this?"

Beverly Nelson says that she told her husband about the accusations against Moore before they got married. "Before I married my husband, John, I told him what Mr. Moore had done to me," she said alongside Allred at the news conference.

Darrel Nelson said that neither Beverly nor his own father ever mentioned the claims against Moore.

"If she told him, you would think that somewhere along the conversations of talking to his son and talking to his family that he would’ve mentioned something like that. That’s something you don’t hide from anybody," he said.

Nelson added: "In all of the years that my dad has been married to her up until the other day when my mother said that you got to go check out the news to see what your stepmother is doing, that is the first time in all of the years that I have known that woman that I have ever heard of this. I have never heard of this. My dad has never spoke of this. If something massively happened this way, why would you not tell your family?"

New York Times Columnist Trashes Clinton Accuser Paula Jones
[BREITBART] Because it will no longer produce any political downside for Democrats, on Monday, New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

columnist Michelle Goldberg penned a cynical, self-serving, 25 years-too-late column, saying that she now believes Juanita Broaddrick’s claim that former-President Bill Clinton
...former Democratic president of the U.S. Bill was the second U.S. president to be impeached, the first to deny that oral sex was sex, the first to have difficulty with the definition of is...
raped her. Using lies of omission, in that same column, Goldberg also trashed Clinton accuser Paula Jones.

’[T]here are reasons to be at least unsure about Paula Jones’s claim that Clinton exposed himself to her and demanded oral sex," Goldberg writes, adding that Jones was "championed by people engaged in what Ann Coulter once proudly called ’a small, intricately knit right-wing conspiracy’ to bring down the president. She described ’distinguishing characteristics’ of Clinton’s penis that turned out to be inaccurate. Her sister insisted to Sidney Blumenthal ... she was lying."

There is just one vitally important fact ‐ and I do mean FACT ‐ missing from Goldberg’s smear: the fact that Clinton settled the sexual harassment suit Jones brought against him for a whopping $850,000, and did so in 1998 while still a sitting president.

While Clinton refused to apologize or admit any wrongdoing, according to the Los Angeles Times, that $850,000 figure was more than the $700,000 Jones originally sought.

Why would Goldberg withhold that information from her readers, why such a glaring lie of omission?

The asking of the question answers the question.

Team Clinton and his shameless media minions claimed that the settlement was only about ridding the then-president of a nuisance. Others believe that if Clinton were truly innocent, he would have sought vindication through a jury verdict.

Mean Girl Goldberg can snip and snap away at Jones all she wants, but Paula Jones put herself out there, opened up her whole life to the legal discovery process, to public ridicule, and heroically did so in order to have her day in court, her justice ‐ and she not only got it, she got it from the most powerful man in the world.

Broadway Stars Honor Hillary Clinton At Planned Parenthood Fundraiser
[DAILYWIRE] Broadway stars were proud to host failed presidential candidate Perennial Presidential Campaigner Hillary Crooked Hillary Clinton
... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away...
on Sunday night for "an evening that was all about women, by women, and for women," according to InStyle.

"Tony and Grammy winners packed The Town Hall theater in N.Y.C. for a special concert all about women's empowerment called 'Double Standards,'" reports InStyle. "Everyone from 'Waitress' lyricist Sara Bareilles to 'The Great Comet of 1812's' former Sonya Rostova, Ingrid Michaelson, sang about women's rights, Hillary Clinton, and standing up in the face of the patriarchy, with 100 percent of the proceeds from the concert tickets and donations going toward Planned Parenthood
...has received federal funding since 1970, when President Richard Nixon signed into law the Family Planning Services and Population Research Act. It is sometimes described as the gynecololgical wing of the Democratic party.
, the ACLU, and the Breast Cancer Coalition."

The Broadway stars clearly did not second-guess the prospect of honoring Hillary Clinton as some beacon of women's rights while multiple allegations suggest she aided her husband in silencing several of his sexual assault victims throughout the years.

Stars in attendance said the goal of the concert was to get people talking about women's rights.

"I think there's no huge solution; it's small solutions. Find out who you want to be our next president, who you want to your representative, come to shows like this, support events like this," Ingrid Michaelson told InStyle. "It's multiple small things that everybody can do. ... It's a series of small victories. If everyone could chip in on small levels, we'll get to a bigger level of positivity."

Israel ready to share intelligence about Iran with Saudi Arabia, says military chief
[DAWN] Israel's military chief of staff said in an interview on Thursday that his country was prepared to cooperate with Soddy Arabia

Transitional Govt Planned...as Mugabe is Cornered
[All Africa] President Bob Muggsy Mugabe
Nonagenarian President-for-Life of Zim-bob-we who turned the former Breadbasket of Africa into the African Basket Case...
, confined by the military to his private residence since Tuesday night, is expected to hand over power imminently to his former deputy Emmerson Mnangagwa, who is believed to be planning a transitional government which will include the opposition.

Mnangagwa is expected to form a transitional government that would rule for five years, after which the country would hold elections, highly placed sources said. His mandate, according to the military plan, would include restoring the rule of law and stabilise the economy.

The fierce battle to succeed the 93-year old president came to a head on Wednesday, when the military effectively seized control of government and launched a crackdown on what it described as "criminals around" Mugabe.
The Zim-bob-we Defence Forces (ZDF) took over state broadcaster, Zim-bob-we Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) to announce, early yesterday morning, its unprecedented intervention in civilian affairs.

"We wish to make it abundantly clear that this is not a military takeover of government. What the Zim-bob-we Defence Forces is doing is to pacify a degenerating political‚ social and economic situation in our country which if not addressed may result in violent conflict," the military said in a statement read on state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
by major general Sibusiso Moyo.

"To the generality of the people of Zim-bob-we...our wish is that you enjoy your rights and freedoms and that we return our country to a dispensation that allows for investment‚ development and prosperity that we all fought for and for which many of our citizens paid the supreme sacrifice."

Arabia
Houthi naval mines threaten seaborne aid shipments
Yemen’s national army warned on Wednesday against sporadic naval mines planted across the Red Sea coast. Coup militias had resorted to sea mines in order to compromise maritime security of government-controlled ports.

The army had sounded the alarm in a move to warn international vessels delivering aid to the war-torn country and advise caution against the chances of the floating mines being carried into deep waters by sea currents.

“Houthi militias have been planting mines, blowing up the coastal locations across the strategic port of Hodeidah and carrying out terrorist attacks on international shipping vessels,” Yemeni army spokesman Brigadier Abdo Majali told Asharq Al-Awsat.

Saudi-led Arab Coalition leadership announced in May the Saudi Royal Navy successfully locating a number of marine mines in the Yemeni coast near the port of Midi, on the Red Sea and near Saudi waters.

Port Midi is established as vital port, as well as one of the most important arms smuggling outlets for Iran-backed Houthi militias.

The Coalition leadership then revealed that specialized teams have surveyed the naval mines. It appeared that the mines were designed with rudimentary methods.

Brig. Majali pointed out that danger lies in the fact that floating mines planted by Houthi militias may drift towards international shipping lines in the Red Sea, presenting a grave threat.

In case of detonation, consequences will have a disastrous magnitude for commercial ships and humanitarian aid vessels being sent to help the Yemeni people.

“Taking up terror operations, Coup militias over the past few days planted mines that hold great potential of being carried by the water current into international waters--which is a serious risk to the security and safety of navigation,” said Brig. Majali.

On that note, the Yemeni army spokesman also briefed on the qualitative progress achieved by pro-legitimacy forces in Nihm district, adjacent to the coup’s de facto capital Sana’a.

Brig.Majali pointed out that pro-government forces control about 85 percent of Nihm territory, and that the operations are advancing under plans set by the General Staff in coordination with the forces of the Arab Coalition.

Networks Ignore Dem Candidate Arrested For Stalking
[DAILYCALLER] A Democrat running for Congress was tossed in the calaboose
You have the right to remain silent...
on a stalking charge last week, but the media has refused to give the story any coverage.

David Alcon, who is running for an open congressional seat in New Mexico, was arrested this past Friday on a felony stalking charge after a woman accused him of sending her frightening and lewd text messages and showing up at her home. Alcon was previously convicted of stalking his ex-girlfriend in 2007 and was described as "infatuated" and "clearly obsessed" by the judge in the case.

The story has been met with silence from a number of media outlets despite their breathless coverage of the sexual assault scandal surrounding Alabama U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore.

According to a search of the television database TV Eyes, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, and NBC have given zero on-air coverage to Alcon’s arrest. The networks have also not published any stories about Alcon’s scandal on their websites in the past week.

Home Front: Culture Wars
It was a dark and cold winter's night when the future senator brought his act to Bozeman.
Allow me to hop on board the runaway Accuser Bandwagon: I witnessed Al Franken commit sexual harassment, and from a front row seat.

Literally.

Front row, right side at Student Union Ballroom of Montana State University, Bozeman, Montana. Winter of 1979 or 1980. Actually, I witnessed both Al Franken and his then partner, Tom Davis, commit acts of unwanted sexual harassment.

At the time I was something of a performer myself, and provided the opening act for prominent jazz band in the college club and concert circuits. So of course I made it a point to see the Franken and Davis Show. I fancied myself a professional peer.

I was enjoying the show from my front row seat. I thought it was nice that Al Franken mentioned his wife had very recently (the previous week?) given birth to (if I recall correctly) his first child, a son. Good for him. A proud father. I even enjoyed the lefty weather report skit, reporting on the ten thousand degree temperatures resulting from the nuclear war. "Remember to wear your lead suits at the beach tomorrow!"

I observed that they had taped a poster on the low stage floor, front center, listing their skits as a memory aid, and thereafter used that method in my own show.

I wish I had read how they listed the act I will discuss; Ass Grab? Fanny Fondle?
The author then presents his case.

Shelter-In-Place For Baltimore Neighborhood, Search For Gunman Who Killed Officer Continues
[BALTIMORE.CBSLOCAL] A shelter-in-place is in effect for an entire neighborhood of west Baltimore as police continue their search for a gunman who shot and killed a detective Wednesday afternoon.

This shelter-in-place means no one is allowed to come into the Harlem Park neighborhood and no one is allowed out until everything is cleared. The order even applied to a school bus, as a driver was told Thursday morning to turn around at the police perimeter.

Also Thursday morning, police were using megaphones at the scene to try and track down the shooter. Officers have been in the neighborhood since Wednesday at dusk, looking for the suspect from the air and from the ground.

The shooting happened on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. on the 900 Block of Bennett Place while the detective was investigating a murder in the neighborhood with a partner.

When he approached a suspicious man, the man opened fire, police say. The officer was shot in the head. He was then taken to Shock Trauma where he died. The officer is an 18-year veteran of the force. He is also a father of five.

There is a $69,000 reward for information that leads to the shooter’s arrest.

These are parts of the confession alleged turban Sabbir made before a Dhaka Metropolitan magistrate after being nabbed

by RAB.

Court sources earlier said Sabbir had planned to crash an aircraft into the residence of Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina in a similar manner to the infamous terror attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001.

In the statement, Sabbir said it was possible to attack an establishment with a plane during landing but it was impossible during take off.

"It is not possible to attack any establishment in Dhaka if the plane takes off from Dhaka Airport."

However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
he said it is possible to target establishments in Dhaka if the plane takes off from Chittagong, Sylhet or Rajshahi. It is possible to hit the establishment by calculating its height.

The plan was made with Abdullah whether the plane could be crashed into the prime minister’s residence.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines First Officer Sabbir Ahmed was arrested on October 26 from Kamalprabha house of Burdwanbari in Mirpur for alleged involvement in turban activities and planning attacks on important establishments.

The Abdullah from the confession is the same Abdullah, 45, who, along with his two wives Fatema, 34, and Nasrin, 32, two sons Omar, 10, and Osama, 3, and two associates, was killed in a suicide kaboom at the same house on September 5.
