Hamas leader: Israel doesn't exist
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh called on the Palestinian Authority (PA) to cease restricting the activity of the struggle and intifada in Judea and Samaria, in order to bring about a general "confrontation" with the "occupation."

Speaking in Gaza at a conference marking the International Day for Jerusalem, Haniyeh said the PA "needs to make clear decisions and put an end to the Oslo Accords. It should not attempt to find a new sponsor for peace."

According to the Hamas site Al-Risala, Haniyeh emphasized that "no one has the authority to give up Al-Quds," and "it is inconceivable that we will abandon Al-Quds or leave it the way [we left] Al-Andalus and other places. Al-Quds is the religious and political capital of Palestine, and it is the moral (capital) of all free people in the world."

Al-Quds is the Arabic name for Jerusalem. Al-Andalus, also known as Muslim Spain or Islamic Iberia, occupied during medieval times much of what is today Spain and Portugal.

Haniyeh called on the Islamic nation to create a strategy to combat the "conspiracy being concocted in the US, including the acceptance of new decisions regarding the Palestinian problem. This includes, for example, cancelling the [PA Arabs'] right of return, and recognizing Israel's Jewish character."

According to Haniyeh, US President Donald Trump does not have the authority to give Jerusalem to Israel. Not only that, there is no country called "Israel" to which Trump can give a capital city.

"The Palestinian nation is determined to continue its battle for Al-Quds until the end, even if doing so will cost a high price in lives, as long as it succeeds in thwarting the decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital," he said.

Palestinian Authority BDS organizations receive major blow
The Danish Foreign Ministry announced Friday the cessation of financial aid, along with a more stringent vetting process, for the transfer of funds to Palestinian Authority (PA) NGOs.

The move came after Israel's Ministry of Strategic Affairs provided information to Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that European funds are going to PA NGOs with ties to terrorist organizations. These NGOs also promote boycotts against Israel, the ministry noted. As a result, Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan (Likud) sent a letter to the Danish Foreign Minister insisting Denmark cease funding these organizations.

In an official statement, Danish Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen emphasized that he attaches great importance to ensuring Danish aid is used properly. It is for this reason, he wrote, that the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs began, in May 2017, a comprehensive examination of the funds distributed to PA NGOs. The results of those findings led the Danish government to conclude that there was a need to toughen the conditions and terms surrounding finances given to PA organizations.

Disabled Gaza man did not die from IDF fire
Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) Major General Yoav Mordechai called on the Red Cross to produce a report and medical findings regarding the death of Ibrahim Abu Toriya, after the IDF report on the topic concluded that Abu Toriya was not killed by IDF fire.

Abu Toriya, a double amputee, participated last Friday in a riot which turned violent when the Arab protesters began burning tires and stoning the IDF troops stationed nearby.

"Recently, claims have been made that the IDF caused the death of Ibrahim Abu Toriya, who was killed while participating in riots near the Gaza border," Mordechai noted.

"I announce, very clearly, that the investigation did not show in any way that Ibrahim Abu Toriya died of live IDF fire.

"I therefore turned to Red Cross Delegation Head Mr Jacques De Maio, asking him to find all of the facts and data, including the report from the ambulance in which Abu Toriya traveled, medical reports and findings from doctors in Gaza hospitals, and any other data which exists."

Mordechai also noted that there was no basis for the false reports claiming that a sniper shot directly and intentionally at Abu Toriya. He emphasized that "we have to put an end to the industry of rumors, exaggerations, and lies which incense public discourse and incite to violence. There are too many questions and too many things which are unclear about Abu Toriya's death, and I suggest we investigate and find out the truth."

Was the Steele Dossier the FBI's ‘Insurance Policy'?
[National Review] The FBI’s deputy director Andrew McCabe testified Tuesday at a marathon seven-hour closed-door hearing of the House Intelligence Committee. According to the now-infamous text message sent by FBI agent Peter Strzok to his paramour, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, it was in McCabe’s office that top FBI counterintelligence officials discussed what they saw as the frightening possibility of a Trump presidency. That was during the stretch run of the 2016 campaign, no more than a couple of weeks after they started receiving the Steele dossier ‐ the Clinton campaign’s opposition-research reports, written by former British spy Christopher Steele, about Trump’s purportedly conspiratorial relationship with Vladimir Putin’s regime in Russia. Was it the Steele dossier that so frightened the FBI? I think so.

Former Gov't Officials Warned About Hezbollah Story Months Ago
[DailyCaller] Former U.S. government officials gave details to the House Foreign Affairs Committee in June about how the previous White House derailed American efforts to counter Hezbollah, which supports recent revelations from a report by Politico.

Dr. David Asher, a veteran U.S. illicit finance expert sent by the Pentagon to help establish a team to go after Hezbollah’s alleged criminal activities, testified before Congress in June.

Asher told committee members about the collaborative effort was known as "Project Cassandra."

It was composed of individuals from various U.S. agencies who used law enforcement, civil, and financial tools to "deter, disrupt, [and] publicly illuminate the global illicit Hezbollah network." Asher called it "the most successful operational effort taken against Hezbollah to date by the U.S. government, after many years of inaction."

However, he went on to say the Obama administration interrupted the successful operation against Hezbollah in its final years.

"In the last years of the previous administration, for reasons that most definitely had to do with the Iran deal and concerns of interfering with it ‐ which I thought were totally unfounded, as a former nuclear negotiator with Iran and North Korea ‐ we lost much of the altitude that we had gained in our global effort," Asher said.

He continued, "And many aspects ‐ including key personnel who were reassigned, budgets that were slashed ‐ many key elements of the investigations that were underway were undermined and it was a bit of a tragedy and a travesty."

Politico’s Josh Meyer explored the accusations that the previous administration intervened into Asher’s task force to battle Hezbollah head on. According to Meyer, Project Cassandra launched in 2008 when it became apparent that Hezbollah went from political/ military organization to international organized crime cartel.

According to Meyer, 30 U.S. and foreign security agencies investigated cocaine shipments from Latin America to West Africa to Europe, the Middle East, Venezuela, and the United States. Money laundering fronts were used to hide the cash flow which included car dealerships.

When Asher and his team needed approval for investigations prosecutions, arrests, financial sanctions, authorities at the Department of Justice and Treasury postponed, meddled or outright denied those requests.

Scott Morrison says Australia needs tax cuts to offset hit from US cuts
The treasurer, Scott Morrison, has claimed Australia’s economy will be deprived of 1% growth in GDP if parliament does not follow the lead of the US president, Donald Trump, and slash Australia’s headline corporate tax rate.

He has seized on Trump’s tax cuts, overhauling his justification for his proposed $65bn tax cuts to say they are now necessary not because they will add 1% Australia’s GDP growth, but because they will offset a damaging 1% hit to GDP that will supposedly flow from the huge tax cuts in the US without Australia responding.

He said Treasury analysis, which was handed to the government this week but not released publicly, has pointed out that Australia may experience a significant recessionary impact and a potential downgrade in revenues if it does not lower its corporate tax rate from 30% to 25% in coming years, in response to Trump’s cuts.

The Treasury analysis, which was given to Morrison’s office, was also given to the Australian, which wrote a story warning that Australia could be "marooned" with one of the highest company tax rates in the world.

Morrison is quoted in the story as saying: "The Trump tax cuts are coming. If we fail to respond, they will take Australian jobs, investment and wages with them.
Continues.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City unable to save Ibrahim Abu Thurayeh
[MAIL] Fresh violence has seen 'thousands' of Palestinian protesters clash with Israeli security forces ‐ including an amputee demonstrator.
Please refrain from climbing or tampering with communication or electrical towers. This is your last warning.
The disabled demonstrator was rolled along by comrades to the Israeli border in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood of Gaza City.

The unnamed man used a sling to hurl projectiles towards the security forces amid fresh clashes over President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.

It comes after a Israeli troops shot dead a wheelchair-bound man with no legs in Gaza on December.

Disabled Ibrahim Abu Thurayeh, 29, was taken to al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City after being shot by troops but was later pronounced dead.

Abu Thurayeh, who had previously lost both his legs, was shot along the border east of Gaza City in the north of the Palestinian enclave, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.

Britain
New blue passports could mean extra delays and red tape for UK travellers, warn EU officials
[MAIL] Travellers from the UK could find themselves facing delays and extra paperwork once the new, blue coloured passports are introduced, EU officials have warned.

Theresa May hailed the decision to ditch the European Union burgundy design to revert to navy from October 2019 as an expression of the UK's renewed 'sovereignty and independence'.

But offficials in Brussels said holders of any colour of British passport could see their travel rights diminished after Brexit unless there were further negotiating concessions.

One senior official told The Guardian 'depending on how negotiations go on all free movement issues after Brexit' there was a significant risk that Britons would lose the right to use a fast-track citizens lane when travelling on the continent. They may also be obliged to use a new visa waiver scheme the EU travel information and authorisation system (Etias).

The scheme is modeled on the US Esta scheme and could require British travellers to Europe to register in advance and also pay a small administration fee. One expert warned it is unlikely Britain will retain fast-track privileges unless there is further shift in the prime minister's red lines on immigration.

'At the moment, it looks absolutely certain that we won't be able to go through the European citizens lane because the legal code in the Schengen borders code says it is only for citizens or people with free movement rights,' said Steve Peers, a professor of law at Essex University.

Since the decision to revert to blue passports, the Home Office has confirmed UK could have had blue passports at any time and had voluntarily adopted an EU recommendation to introduce burgundy passports.

Sarah Hoyt: Diaries from Taxcutmaggedon
h/t Instapundit
I’ve never heard this much crazy talk about a relatively modest reduction of taxes. Rosie O’Donnell tried to bribe senators on Twitter; journalists who like to pass as sane, if not bipartisan, screech that this is the end of civilization; idiots unable to differentiate between being forced to pay a penalty for not signing on to the truly crappy Obamacare healthy insurance and having health care, declare we want our neighbors to die.

...But no, in Democrats' minds, every cut back of government taxes or power is the end of civilization. In their addled little brains, a centralized and powerful government has come to symbolize civilization.

From things my colleagues have posted since the tax bill passed, I have ventured to compile an imaginary diary from a world in which the left’s ideas are reality. I also have ventured to make it five days, because frankly, they are extrapolating the end of the world, and even I ‐ with my experience of fiction writing ‐ can’t make that happen in two days.

India-Pakistan
How Obama manipulated sensitive secret intelligence for political gain
[Wash Times] They wanted him dead.

For years, a clandestine U.S. intelligence team had tracked a man they knew was high in the leadership of al Qaeda ‐ an operative some believed had a hand in plotting the gruesome 2009 suicide attack in Afghanistan that killed seven CIA officers.
Referring to the FOB Chapman attack.
Their pursuit was personal, and by early 2014, according to a source directly involved in the operation, the agency had the target under tight drone surveillance. "We literally had a bead on this guy’s head and just needed authorization from Washington to pull the trigger," said the source.

Then something unexpected happened. While agents waited for the green light, the al Qaeda operative’s name, as well as information about the CIA’s classified surveillance and plan to kill him in Pakistan, suddenly appeared in the U.S. press.

Abdullah al-Shami, it turned out, was an American citizen, and President Obama and his national security advisers were torn over whether the benefits of killing him would outweigh the political and civil liberties backlash that was sure to follow.

In interviews with several current and former officials, the al-Shami case was cited as an example of what critics say was the Obama White House’s troublesome tendency to mishandle some of the nation’s most delicate intelligence ‐ especially regarding the Middle East ‐ by leaking classified information in an attempt to sway public opinion on sensitive matters.

Is it really "mishandling" of intelligence if you intend it? IMHO, It would seem that it is something much darker.

Terror Attack in Pennsylvania's State Capital?
[PJ] Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating a shooting spree in Pennsylvania's state capital of Harrisburg earlier today.

According to the area district attorney, it appears there were three sites where 51-year-old Ahmed Amin El-Mofty intentionally engaged police. One Pennsylvania State Trooper was injured.

The suspect was eventually shot and killed by police. Possible explosives were found on his body, which a bomb squad had to render inert.

El-Mofty has been identified as a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Turkey.

He had reportedly recently taken a trip to the Middle East.

Perhaps related, ISIS supporter Jalil Aziz
...who is in our archives as Jalil Ibn Ameer Aziz. A photo of the America-born miscreant can be seen here. He was arrested for tweeting out a list of U.S. military personnel for ISIS targetting using 57 Twitter accounts.
was sentenced to 12 years in prison today in Harrisburg.
Update from PennLive at 12:10 p.m. ET:
A device was found next to El-Mofty, but Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico said it ended up being "of no import."

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has joined the investigation.

[The Hill] The retiring head of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) warned ahead of his exit Friday about the ability for extremists in the U.S. to get lethal weapons.

In a final briefing with reporters ahead of his departure, NCTC Director Nicholas Rasmussen voiced concern about the ability to protect from mass casualty attacks.

"We find ourselves in a more dangerous situation because our population of violent extremists has no difficulty gaining access to weapons that are quite lethal," Rasmussen said, according to The Washington Post. "I wish that weren’t so."
Could he be making the connection between highly lucrative drug trafficking networks and gun running ?
Rasmussen, who served as the NCTC's director for three of his five years there, said he had no solutions to offer domestic law enforcement agencies working to prevent mass-casualty attacks, but said a link between the availability of guns and the potential for violence is a calculation for counterterrorism analysts.

Guns have been widely available in this country for a long time. That's not the link he should worry about. How about the seeping in of corruption to the Feral government?

The 2nd Amendment stands between the people and tyranny but then I'm preaching to the choir. How about government-sponsored gun running, drug importation and opening the flood gates to illegal immigrants?

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Obamaranians attempt to shoot Politico magazine messengers over Hez article
[Free Beacon] Nothing has been more tedious over the last year than the constant reminders that good journalism is "now more important than ever." The implication, of course, is that solid, groundbreaking reporting was not as essential so long as a liberal Democrat was in power. I've long assumed that the factotums mouthing such clichés lack the self-awareness to understand the true import of their words. But maybe I've been wrong. Recent days brought evidence that, no, liberals really mean it: the only meaningful investigative work is that which reflects poorly on Republicans.

Earlier this week, for example, Politico Magazine published a story by Josh Meyer headlined "The secret backstory of how Obama let Hezbollah off the hook." This epic and copiously sourced piece relates how, "in its determination to secure a nuclear deal with Iran, the Obama administration derailed an ambitious law enforcement campaign targeting drug trafficking by the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah, even as it [Hezbollah, not the Obama administration] was funneling cocaine into the United States."

The law enforcement program in question is called Project Cassandra, which for eight years "used wiretaps, undercover operations, and informants to map Hezbollah's illicit networks, with the help of 30 U.S. and foreign security agencies." However, as investigators came closer to unraveling the globe-spanning conspiracy, "The Justice Department declined requests by Project Cassandra and other authorities to file criminal charges against major players such as Hezbollah's high-profile envoy to Iran, a Lebanese bank that allegedly laundered billions in alleged drug profits, and a central player in a U.S.-based cell of the Iranian paramilitary Quds force." Linger over that last item for a second.

Meyer cites "dozens" of interviews and documents as evidence. He quotes a veteran U.S. intelligence operative‐the sort of guy whose every utterance is anonymously paraded in the newspapers and magazines so long as it's anti-Trump‐who says, "This was a policy decision, it was a systematic decision." And the reason for this systematic decision, presumably, was to make Hezbollah's Iranian backers more willing to deal with the Obama administration on nukes.

Meyer points to congressional testimony from former Treasury official Katherine Bauer, who said last February: "These investigations were tamped down for fear of rocking Iran and jeopardizing the nuclear deal." President Obama, in other words, slow-walked counter-narcotics efforts for the inane "greater good" of paying Iran billions to pretend to shut down its nuclear program for ten years. This is the very definition of "stupid stuff."

Planned obsolescence - Apple Sued After Admitting to Slowing Down Older iPhones
[Breitbart] Apple is being sued after the company admitted to slowing down older iPhone models in a statement this week.
According to CNBC, "Stefan Bogdanovich and Dakota Speas brought a class action lawsuit in California ‐ where they are residents ‐ against Apple, an official filing revealed Thursday."

"They claim that Apple never requested consent from them to ’slow down their iPhones.’ Both plaintiffs are owners of an iPhone 7," CNBC explained. "Bogdanovich and Speas claim they ’suffered interferences to their iPhone usage due to the intentional slowdowns.'"

The two Apple customers are also claiming "economic damages and other harm for which they are entitled to compensation" and "are trying to get the case certified to cover all people in the United States who owned an Apple phone older than the iPhone 8."

Apple confirmed they were slowing down older iPhone models on Wednesday, claiming it was in an effort to prevent random shutdowns which were taking place due to old lithium-ion batteries.

Several users on Twitter had claimed their devices were being "throttled" before Apple admitted to the practice, and many alleged the company was slowing down iPhones in an effort to force customers to upgrade.

It would go from 75% battery to shut down, then when attached to a backup battery would within a minute or two be up to 70%. I have held onto the 5c because a) it works fine and I still have plenty of storage space, and b) I have small hands, and the new, bigger phones simply don’t work for me.

I could replace the lithium battery, I suppose. At this point, the warrantee has expired anyway.

North Korean soldier defects to South
[DAWN] A North Korean soldier escaped to the South on Thursday across the heavily-guarded Demilitarised Zone that divides the peninsula, triggering gunfire on both sides of the tense border, in the second defection in successive months.

The "low-ranking" soldier was spotted by South Korean soldiers using surveillance equipment as he crossed the midwestern part of the land border in thick fog and made his way to a guard post, a front man for Seoul’s defence ministry said.

There were no shots at the time, he said, but about 90 minutes later South Korean troops fired around 20 rounds from a K-3 machine gun to warn off Northern guards who approached the border apparently looking for their comrade.

Two bursts of gunfire were later heard in the North, the front man said, but there were no indications of any bullets crossing the border.

Controlled explosion after police disrupt Christmas 'terror plot'
Follow up from this report from the 19th.
[SKYNews] Officers investigating a suspected Christmas terror plot in Derby have carried out a controlled explosion.

An army bomb disposal unit attended and disposed of material found at the property at a nearby safe location. A cordon remains in place.

Four men from Sheffield and Chesterfield were arrested after police raided the property, and they were granted more time to question them on Wednesday.

Detectives have until 4pm on Christmas Day to either charge, release or apply for a further extension to custody.

The arrests on Tuesday come after a mosque and community centre in Burngreave, Sheffield, was sealed off, with residents reportedly being woken up at 6am by loud bangs and armed officers wearing camouflage.

Detectives feared a gang had already assembled an explosive device.

Residents should expect a higher level of police presence around Christmas.

GE gets largest order for locomotives order in 3 years, work to be done in Fort Worth
[Dallas Business Journal] General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) will manufacture 200 locomotives for the Canadian National Railway Company (NYSE: CNI), with work beginning in Fort Worth next year.
Everyone loves Christmas train stories.
A Class I railroad hasn't placed an order this big in three years, the companies said.

It comes at a time when railroads have seen a downturn in business because of factors like decreased coal consumption, and manufacturers like GE are feeling the effects. GE sold 354 locomotives in the first three quarters of 2017, according to financial filings, a 39-percent decrease year-over-year.

"CN's steadfast commitment to serving the expanding needs of its customers across Canada and the United States is helping to turn around the North American locomotive market," said Rafael Santana, CEO of GE Transportation, in a prepared statement. "We are proud to partner with CN on this agreement to meet the needs of their future growth, and optimize and further digitize their freight rail operations."

GE's new CEO John Flannery announced plans to shed $20 billion worth of assets earlier this year as he tries to make the Boston conglomerate leaner and more focused on core competencies. Locomotive manufacturing is one of the assets the company plans on shedding, according to an investor presentation from November.

U.S. Military Training for Ground Invasion to Capture North Korean Nukes
[BREITBART] U.S. military forces reportedly began training for a mission involving a ground invasion of North Korea, with the objective of deactivating all their nuclear weapons.

According to military sources who spoke to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency, hundreds of U.S. and South Korean soldiers conducted an exercise dubbed "Warrior Strike," preparing them to "infiltrate North Korea and remove weapons of mass destruction in case of conflict."

Photos published on the unit’s Facebook page show armed soldiers training with night vision equipment, gas masks, helicopters and expensive weaponry.

"On December 15, 2017, Bravo Company, 1-5 CAV converged on a subterranean tunnel for training," a description of the post reads. "Check out these photos and stay tuned for more coverage of BlackJack soldiers in action."

The exercises concur with a recent analysis by the Pentagon that determined a ground invasion of North Korea would be the "only way" to fully disarm the country of its nuclear arsenal.

"The only way to ’locate and destroy‐with complete certainty‐all components of North Korea’s nuclear weapons programs’ is through a ground invasion," wrote Rear Admiral Michael Dumont on behalf of the Pentagon Chiefs of Staff.

Security Council Tightens Economic Vise on North Korea, Blocking Fuel, Ships and Workers
[NYTIMES] The United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
Security Council imposed new sanctions on North Korea on Friday that significantly choke off new fuel supplies and order North Koreans working overseas to return home within two years, in what may prove the last test of whether any amount of economic pressure can force it to reverse course on its nuclear program.

The sanctions, adopted by a vote of 15 to 0, were the third imposed this year in an escalating effort to force the North into negotiations. China and Russia joined in the resolution, though American officials have charged that in recent months the Russians have secretly been opening new links to the North, including new internet connections that give the country an alternative to communicating primarily through China.

Under the new sanctions, oil exports will be limited to their current level, which has already begun to result in shortages around the country. Countries around the world will be ordered to expel North Korean workers, a key source of hard currency. Nations would also be urged to inspect all North Korean shipping and halt ship-to-ship transfers of fuel, which the North has used to evade sanctions.

But the resolution does not permit countries to hail and board North Korean ships in international waters, which the Trump administration proposed earlier this year. That would be the most draconian measure, because it would enable the United States Navy and its Pacific allies to create a cordon around the country, though Pentagon officials say it would also carry a high risk of triggering a firefight between North Korea and foreign navies.

Judge dismisses emoluments clause lawsuit against Trump
[WASHINGTONTIMES] A federal judge in New York dismissed one of the lawsuits against President Trump’s business dealings, ruling Thursday that a watchdog group didn’t have standing to challenge whether the president’s continued connection to his hotel chain violates the Constitution’s emoluments clause.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington had sued, saying that the president was benefiting from foreign government cash when employees of those governments held events or stayed at Trump hotels. The emoluments clause prevents the president from accepting a gift from another government without the consent of Congress.

But Judge George B. Daniels, sitting in the Southern District of New York, said the group wasn’t able to bring the action.

Here is an interesting experiment.

Go to CREW website. Count the number of FOIA requests by this organization since November 2016. Then count the number of requests for all or 2013, 2014, and 2015. They filed more against trump in the first month than they did obama in the previous 3 years.

Lawyer In Anti-Trump Dossier Lawsuit Says They've Identified Who Gave It To BuzzFeed News
[DAILYWIRE] An attorney for a Russian business executive who filed a lawsuit against BuzzFeed News in February said on Thursday that they have identified the person who gave the anti-Trump dossier to the left-leaning website.

The attorney representing Aleksej Gubarev, Val Gurvits, revealed that they recently discovered who gave BuzzFeed News the unverified anti-Trump dossier after a federal judge ruled that BuzzFeed News is a news organization and therefore qualifies for legal protection that prevents reporters from having to disclose their sources, CNN reported.

#1  More and more, it looks like all the collusion and the greasing of palms with green stuff was in the Hillary/DNC and Shadow Government camp. Hillary had complete control of the DNC at the time (see Donna Brazile's statements about the time of her book release.)--Hillary was in charge of all DNC rigging. Also, as I understand it, collusion alone is not illegal unless money is paid in the process of collusion. It seems that a lot of money was paid for the fake dossier.

Drinking alcohol and mixed parties of unrelated men and women are illegal and considered a sin under Islamic law in Iran.

The report said some participants posted an invitation to others to join on Instagram and police arrested them.

ISNA also said some alcoholic beverages and psychotropic drugs were confiscated.

Senate says it has paid out $1.5M to settle ‘harassment’ claims
[NYPOST] The Senate quietly released a bare-bones report late Thursday on what a statement called "harassment settlement" data, showing that nearly $1.5 million in taxpayers’ money has been spent over the past two decades to cover claims against politicians and other Senate offices.

The two-page release contained no names of senators or victims. It said $599,000 was for 13 settlements involving "member-led" Senate offices, while the remaining $853,000 was for 10 settlements involving "other" Senate offices.

The Senate’s Rules and Appropriations committees released the information on the evening of Congress’ final work day this year. It came during a period that has seen several politicians resign or announce their retirements following sexual harassment accusations, and growing condemnation for the secrecy with which Congress has guarded information about such cases.

Baltimore Now Tied With Venezuela
[ZEROHEDGE] Once again this year, the Brennan Center for Justice has analyzed violent crime stats from the 30 largest cities in America to provide some insight on national trends. Not surprisingly, this year's report is full of more bad news for the residents of cities like Baltimore and Chicago that have experienced devastating spikes in homicides over the past two years.

Looking at homicides per capita in 2017, Baltimore is clearly the most dangerous large city in the U.S. with a murder rate that is more than 4x the average of other large cities and some 40% higher than the second most dangerous city of Detroit. To put things in perspective, the murder rate in Baltimore is now exactly tied with Venezuela at 57.2 murders per 100,000 residents.

South Sudan leaders sign ceasefire agreement
[Al Jazeera] Warring parties in South Sudan have signed a ceasefire deal that will allow humanitarian access to civilians caught in the fighting.

Thursday's agreement, which is expected to go into force on December 24, calls for an unconditional end to the violence and unhindered access for aid workers to all areas throughout the country.

Signed in the Æthiopian capital Addis Ababa, the ceasefire aims to revive a 2015 peace deal that collapsed last year after heavy fighting broke out in Juba, Rooters news agency reported.

No evidence found against bloggers accused of blasphemy, FIA tells court
[DAWN] The five activists who made international headlines when they went missing earlier this year were cleared of blasphemy charges on Friday, a lawyer said.

The men, who used social media to stand against religious intolerance and at times criticised the army, vanished within days of each other in January, sparking fears of a state crackdown. They included academic Salman Haider, bloggers Asim Saeed, Waqas Goraya and Ahmed Raza Naseer, and Samar Abbas, head of an anti-extremism activist group in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
Four of them have since been released, with some accusing their captors of torture. No group grabbed credit for their abduction, and the government and military have denied involvement.

But during their disappearance, a virulent social media campaign to paint them as blasphemers began, triggering a flood of threats.

Observers have said the allegations alone were enough to put the five activists' lives in danger.

On Friday, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) told the Islamabad High Court it could find no evidence against the five men.

"The FIA officials told the court it ... seems the five bloggers were not involved in blasphemy," Tariq Asad, one of the lawyers bringing the charge against the activists, told AFP.

"The judge remarked that no innocent person should be implicated in a false case of blasphemy," Asad said.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui during the hearing remarked that those who have made false accusations regarding someone posting blasphemous content have committed "twice the crime".

He said the trial court will decide if this was a case of false accusation or lack of evidence.

The campaign against the missing men spotlighted how bad boy efforts to muzzle liberal voices using state laws have found a powerful new platform online, rights activists say.

on Friday, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said.

The troops were targeted when they busy in the construction of a new border post at Shunkrai area of Mohmand tribal region near the border with Afghanistan.

A protection party that was accompanying the troops responded to the attack, killing five suspected holy warriors and leaving as many injured, the ISPR said.

The martyred soldiers were identified as Havaldar Muneer Khan, Sepoy Haq Nawaz Khan and Lance Naik Irshad Hussain.

The fleeing holy warriors could be seen carrying with them the bodies of killed snuffies and those injured in retaliatory fire, the ISPR claimed.

The military's media wing alleged that through such attacks, Pakistain is "paying [the] price" of Afghan cops' lack of "capacity" and ungoverned spaces on Afghan side of the border.

The incident comes less than a fortnight after two Pakistain Army soldiers were martyred when armed snuffies opened fire on their vehicle in North Wazoo.

said Friday that his people would "no longer accept" any peace plan proposed by the United States following Washington’s decision to unilaterally recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The Trump administration has been preparing a plan in secret which is expected to be presented to the two sides in 2018.

"The United States has proven to be a dishonest mediator in the grinding of the peace processor and we will no longer accept any plan from the United States," Abbas said after meeting French President Emmanuel Macron in Gay Paree.

He also hit out at efforts by the US to intimidate countries ahead of a vote at the UN on Thursday which saw 128 countries condemn Washington’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.

"I hope that the others will learn the lesson and understand that you cannot impose solutions by using money and trying to buy off countries," he added.

Turkish police arrest 15 senior military officers over coup attempt
[Ynet] More arrests are taking place in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
following last year's coup attempt‐and this time its senior military officials; more than 50,000 people are nabbed
You have the right to remain silent...
by President Erdogan's government.

Ottoman Turkish police arrested 15 senior military officers in an investigation into the network of a US-based holy man who Ankara accuses of orchestrating last year’s attempted coup, state-run Anadolu news agency said on Friday.

It said police were seeking one more officer in the operation, focused on the capital Ankara and spread across nine provinces, adding that 12 of the total 16 suspects were serving officers.

Among the suspects were seven colonels and nine lieutenant colonels from Turkey’s gendarmerie force, which maintains security in rural areas, the Hurriyet news website said.

Police operations targeting alleged followers of Gulen have been conducted on a near daily basis since the coup attempt in July 2016, and authorities issued arrest warrants for 44 teachers on Friday, Anadolu said.

The suspects were former teachers at Gulen-linked schools which were previously closed by state decree, Anadolu said. Twenty-eight of the teachers were arrested so far.

Schools linked to Gulen’s network have been established across Asia, Africa and the United States and since the putsch, Turkey has asked countries including Afghanistan and Pakistain to close them down.

Day 3: Melbourne CBD attack: Alleged Flinders Street driver Saeed Noori rambled about Allah and ASIO
[TheAge] Flinders Street driver Saeed Noori rambled about Allah, Australia's spy agency ASIO and the mistreatment of Moslems in the hours after the attack, police say.

Police revealed more on Friday afternoon about what the 32-year-old drug addict told them as Sherlocks continue to search for a motive behind the rampage.

It comes as Mr Noori was discharged from hospital and into police custody, where he is set to spend the night before being formally interviewed by homicide detectives on Saturday. He has not yet been charged.

Acting Chief Commissioner Shane Patton said police have not ruled out terrorism, but the only clue that suggested a possible link was what Mr Noori told Sherlocks in St Vincent's Hospital on Thursday night.

Police searched Mr Noori's home in Heidelberg West, where he was living with a relative, and the home of family in Oak Park. They seized computers and materials which, so far, have not revealed any motivation.

ASIO had nothing in its intelligence holdings on Mr Noori, Mr Patton said.

It would almost be easier to explain, Mr Patton said, if it were a clear-cut case of terrorism.

Three people remain in a critical condition, the worst of whom is an 83-year-old man from Northcote in Melbourne's north. The four-year-old South Korean boy from Hoppers Crossing remains in a stable condition.

Mr Noori, who police said had a long history of drug abuse and mental illness, has a prior criminal history of unlicensed driving, using a mobile phone while driving and failing to answer bail. He was not on bail at the time of Thursday's attack, police said.

He was voluntarily subject to a mental health plan with a local hospital.

Police are still tracing Mr Noori's movements from Thursday. The car he was driving, a white Suzuki, belonged to someone in his family.

Mr Noori arrived in Australia from Afghanistan at 18 in 2004 before becoming a citizen in 2006.

He spent recent years in Melbourne's northern suburbs, far removed from the heartland of the city's Afghan population in the outer south-east. He regularly walked home from the hospital where he received treatment for his mental illness. It's believed he previously worked in a trade.
Millennia of inbreeding has resulted in all sorts of mental and physical problems in that part of the world, and drugs only make that worse.

WWII Peleliu & North Korea Inchon Landing Veteran Dies at 92

[DallasNews] Melvin Earl Harris was decorated for his combat service in both World War II and the Korean War.

He was 19 when he was wounded by a grenade during the Battle of Peleliu, a Pacific conflict that many Marines consider their most bitter of World War II. During the Korean War, Harris served in two major battles and nearly lost his feet to frostbite.

Harris, 92, died Dec. 16 in his sleep at his Dallas home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd. in Dallas. Visitation will begin there at noon.

Harris was born in Tyler, where he graduated from high school. He was working for the Cotton Belt Railroad when he was drafted to serve in the Marines during World War II. He became a field artillery gunner, manning a 155 mm Howitzer in the Pacific theater.

Marine commanders expected to seize the island of Peleliu in as little as four days, but the fight against fierce Japanese resistance continued for more than two months.

After recovering from the grenade wounds he suffered there, Harris returned to combat during the Battle of Okinawa.

He received a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars for his World War II service. He was discharged in 1946, but he remained in the Marine Corps Reserves, becoming a sergeant.

It was while working for Magnolia Petroleum in Dallas that Harris was again called to active duty, this time during the Korean War. He took part in the Inchon landing in September 1950 and the liberation of Seoul the next month.

By 1951, the months of the frigid Korean winter had taken their toll on Harris' feet. He was sent to Osaka, Japan, for treatment for severe frostbite.

"They were going to amputate his feet ... and he told them 'hell no,'" Jackson said.

The frost damage to his feet earned Harris a second Purple Heart. His grandfather never recovered from the injury, Jackson said.

"He could walk," he said. "He was just one of those people who wasn't going to be told no. He had pain the rest of his life. His feet were always cold, especially when he was older."

Harris was discharged from the Marines in 1952.

He was an accounting supervisor at Mobil when he retired in 1984. In retirement, he volunteered as a tax consultant for the AARP.

Harris loved to fish. He also enjoyed woodworking, painting and spending time with family at his ranch in Pecan Gap.

"He was one of a kind," Jackson said. "He was always there for everybody. He definitely set the example."

In addition to his grandson, survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Hopp of Quinlan; a brother, Gene Harris of Tyler; another grandchild; six great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

The mostly-Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) comprise the backbone of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which has been the partnered ground force for the US-led international coalition against ISIS.

Gibson's Bakery responds to Oberlin College's court request
[CHRONICLET] Oberlin College has engaged in "victim-shaming" of Gibson’s Bakery, according to court documents filed Wednesday.

The filing was made on behalf of Gibson’s in response to Oberlin College’s request to throw out part of a lawsuit filed by the bakery in November. Gibson’s sued the college and Meredith Raimondo, vice president and dean of students, for libel, slander, interference with business relationships, interference with contracts, deceptive trade practices, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent hiring and trespass.

Oberlin College has asked a county judge to dismiss two counts, the negligent hiring of Raimondo and trespass.

Gibson’s response said the college offered commentary on the remainder of the case, as well.

"In doing so, the Defendants double down on their victim-shaming," the filing said. "There is no dispute that three Oberlin College students pleaded guilty to attempted theft and aggravated trespassing at Gibson’s Bakery. Following the arrests of those students, an orchestrated defamation campaign was waged against Plaintiffs, which damaged Plaintiffs’ reputation and financially devastated their business."

The rift between the bakery and the college began last year when a student tried to buy alcohol with a fake ID from Allyn Gibson, who is the son of the bakery’s owner, David Gibson.

The police report said Allyn Gibson told Jonathan Aladin he was calling the police and not to leave. Gibson said he then took out his phone to take a photo of Aladin, and Aladin slapped the phone from his hand and the device hit Gibson in the face. Police have said Aladin then ran from the store, dropping the two bottles of wine to the floor.

Allyn Gibson chased after Aladin, and the two men got into a physical confrontation outside. When police arrived, they reported seeing Allyn Gibson on the ground with Aladin and the two other students charged, Endia Lawrence and Cecelia Whettstone, hitting him.

The incident became racially charged because Allyn Gibson is white and the students are black. All three students pleaded guilty in August to misdemeanor charges and read statements into the record acknowledging that Allyn Gibson was within his right to detain the shoplifter and that his actions were not racially motivated.

LV shootings: FBI official says motive may take until next October to release
[FOX] Want to finally know why Stephen Paddock gunned down 58 people in Las Vegas in early October?

Be prepared to wait a while – possibly until next October – the chief of the FBI’s Las Vegas office revealed this week during an interview in which he said the agency probably wouldn't brief the public until their report is released sometime before the tragedy’s first anniversary.

“Now that’s a long time for some people, but speaking for the FBI, that’s light speed, all right?” Special Agent in Charge Aaron Rouse told the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Wednesday.

Rouse said reports from other agencies investigating the mass shooting will be released at different times, but the FBI’s one is “focusing a large part on the why” which is “what everybody wants to know.”

UK designates ‘Hasm’, ‘Liwaa el-Thawra’ militant groups in Egypt as 'terrorist'
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Britannia says it has designated two murderous Moslem groups targeting Egyptian security personnel and public figures as "terrorist" organizations.

The British Embassy in Egypt says in a statement Friday that Britannia has added the Hasm movement
...one of the NeverSisi militant arms of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, it sprang into existence, fully formed, in October, 2016. Greater Cairo is its area of operations, police checkpoints its targets of choice. Hasm apparently means "decisiveness" in Arabic...
and Liwaa el-Thawra
...“The Revolution Brigade“, another militant arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, appeared shortly after Hasm, and like it may contain personnel from previous MB armed factions. Both groups apparently reported to Mohammed Kamel, who organized special cells for the MB until he was killed by security forces in a hail of gunfire about the time the two groups appeared...
group to its list of terrorist organizations after reviewing attacks claimed by both groups and finding they meet the criteria.

It also said the move will boost its "capacity to disrupt the activities of these terrorist organizations."

Both groups have targeted mainly Egyptian security forces in bombings and drive-by shootings. Egyptian authorities believe they are splinter factions of the outlawed Moslem Brüderbund group.

Militant attacks have increased dramatically in Egypt since the military's 2013 ouster of President Mohammed Morsi, a senior Brotherhood figure.

The British Ambassador to Egypt John Casson affirmed that the UK will not leave Egypt alone in its fight against terrorism and expressed his concern in the statement.

Egyptian authorities say the two groups, each of which have grabbed credit for armed attacks in Egypt, are armed factions of the Moslem Brüderbund group.

The Egyptian authorities banned the Moslem Brüderbund and declared it a terrorist organization after deposing President Mohammed Morsi, who belonged to it in 2013 during mass protests over his one-year rule.

Australian Government Worried US Will Take Jobs After Massive Tax Cut
[DAILYCALLER] Australian Treasurer Scott Morrison sounded alarm bells about the impact of the recently-passed American tax cuts on Australia’s economy.

If Australia doesn’t pass its own version of the Trump tax cuts, Morrison fears the country will take a hit to its GDP of up to 1 percent.
Oh? Is the world to get a virtuous cascade from something that Trump fellow did? How very, very amusing.
Morrison initially proposed a $65 billion tax cut, saying it would add 1 percent to Australia’s GDP. After Trump’s cut, however, Morrison warned that the cuts are necessary for the country’s economy not to contract.

Morrison cited treasury analyses showing that Australia "may experience a significant recessionary impact and a potential downgrade in revenues if it does not lower its corporate tax rate from 30 percent to 25 percent in coming years, in response to Trump’s cuts," according to The Guardian.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
'Innocent protestor' killed by IDF was a terrorist, told his family 'I Intend to be a martyr'
There is a photo of the formerly living terrorist protesting on his stumps at the link.
[Ynet] Analysis: Israel was widely condemned over the death of the 'innocent' double amputee Ibrahim Abu Thuraya in Gazoo protests. But digging into his history shows he was a member of a terror group that morphed into Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", and an agitator who wanted to 'die a martyr.'

Last Friday, Ibrahim Abu Thuraya, a disabled person who uses a wheelchair, who participated in a protest meters from the border fence in Gazoo, was killed. Israel was widely criticized for killing Abu Thuraya and in some cases accused that an IDF sniper deliberately shot him.

Zeid al-Hussein, United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
High Commissioner for Human Rights, published a condemnation claiming the protester did not pose a threat so there was no justification for his death. The Guardian published the story under the title "'A shocking and wanton act': Israel accused over death of wheelchair user". The Telegraph reported "How a dead man in a wheelchair became a symbol of Paleostinian anger over Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s Jerusalem decision".

Israel gave a different version of events. According to the IDF’s investigation, "Riot control equipment was used in the protest area. A few live rounds were fired towards the main instigators. Troops received approval prior to shooting each round by a senior commander in the field. No live fire was aimed at Abu Thuraya".

In reports worldwide, Abu Thuraya has been described as an innocent victim, having lost his legs as a result of an Israeli bombing during Operation Cast Lead in 2008 and as a protester brutally shot without any justification.

However,
you can observe a lot just by watching...
new information recently uncovered, makes the story questionable. Tomer Ilan, an Israeli activist, has researched Abu Thuraya’s history and found that his family members have reported to the media on his last words the day before the protest. Russia Today reports he told his family, "Brother, forgive me. This is the last night you will see me. And you, my mother, forgive me, and you my sisters, you all forgive me... He kissed the hand and the leg of my father and said to him: Father, forgive me. This is the last night you will see me, as I intend to be a martyr. I am bored of this life, I have no legs and I have nothing. I want to die and rest from life." Mondoweiss quotes similar a testimony by a family member.

Abu Thuraya’s alleged injury as an innocent civilian by an IDF bombing on his home in 2008, has also been found to be totally inaccurate. The Independent reported in 2005 that Abu Thuraya, a Fatah Force 17 member, was shot in the leg, in fighting between Hamas and Fatah. His membership in Fatah’s Force 17 is also reported in the 2010 book "Hamas: The Islamic Resistance Movement" By Beverley Milton-Edwards, Stephen Farrell".

A Paleostinian website reports he was injured again and lost his legs in April 2008 in battle with the IDF, as a Hamas combatant, 8 months before Operation Cast Lead.

The circumstances of Abu Thuraya’s death last week remain unclear. His past as a terrorist may not be related to the protest in which he was killed. However,
you can observe a lot just by watching...
in stark contrast to worldwide media reports, he was not an innocent civilian but a member of terrorist groups Force 17 and later Hamas, was injured twice while serving these groups, and went to last Friday’s protest in order to die as a "martyr".

Houthi leader Yusuf al-Madani reportedly killed
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Sources of Al Arabiya and Al Hadeth channels reported the killing of Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
leader Yusuf al-Madani.

Al-Madani is one of the most prominent military leaders of the Houthi militias.

Madani was killed on the West Coast Front in Yemen.

On Friday evening, Yemeni activists shared videos of al-Madani who is reportedly killed in the West Coast Front, where he was leading the Houthi militia, after he was appointed commander of the fifth military zone (Hodeidah, Hajjah, Mahweet and Rima).

The Houthi militias have been quick to deny the reports of al-Madani’s death as they did with covering up the news that his brother Taha was also killed for more than a year to keep the morale of its fighters high.

Born in 1977 in the directorate of Muhatta in Hajjah province, he was in the middle of his 10 brothers, and the most aspiring to power and leadership.

He entered public schools in the mid-1980s but failed to study. His father sent him with his brother Taha to Saada to receive religious teachings by Houthi holy man Majdeldin al-Moeyadi.

A few months later, he left al-Moeyadi school to join Hussain al-Houthi religious youth battalions in the Maran Mountains.

Yusuf soon became the spoiled boy the Houthis’ leader, so he sent him in 2002 to Iran through Syria where he received extensive training in the Revolutionary Guards camps.

He stayed there for nearly a year, and after his return the Houthi leader offered him his daughter’s hand in marriage a few months before the outbreak of the first war, according to information published by Yemeni researcher Dr. Riyad al-Ghaili.

His uncle Hussein al-Houthi participated in the first war in 2004. He was at the top of the wanted list of the state at the time.

When the leader of the hard boy group was trapped, Yusuf al-Madani managed to escape, while the Houthi leader got killed.

'Allies do not put each other on notice': FO lashes out at US after Pence's scathing remarks
[DAWN] The Foreign Office (FO) on Friday lashed out at the United States (US) hours after Vice President Mike Pence's warning that the Trump administration has "put Pakistain on notice", claiming that the statements diverged from recent conversations between both countries' officials.

"Allies do not put each other on notice," the FO statement said, noting that Pence's scathing remarks were "at variance with the extensive conversations we [Islamabad] have had with the US administration".|

The FO statement stressed the need for the US to create peace and reconciliation mechanisms instead of shifting blame onto Pakistain for its failures in Afghanistan.

"Externalising blame should be put on notice," the FO said, in addition to a host of "factors responsible for exponential increase in drug production, expansion of ungoverned spaces, industrial scale corruption, breakdown of governance, and letting ISIS gain a foothold in Afghanistan."

FBI: Man planned Christmas terror attack for SF's Pier 39
[ABC7NEWS] Officials have stopped a man who reportedly stated that "Christmas was the perfect day" for a terror attack in the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
and "did not need an escape plan because he was ready to die."

We've learned the FBI has tossed in the calaboose
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
a man by the name of Everitt Aaron Jameson from Modesto. According to a handwritten letter obtained by the FBI, Jameson also referred to himself as Abdallah adu Everitt ibn Gordon.
That one clearly is not the sharpest knife in the block.
According to FBI documents, Jameson picked the Pier 39 location because he "had been there before and knew it was a heavily crowded area." He added that it would be easy to "funnel" people into an area where he could inflict casualties.

Jameson reportedly said he was inspired by the New York terror attack on Oct. 31, when a man drove into a crowd and killed eight people, and the deadly 2015 shooting in San Bernardino.

The documents also say Jameson was posting and liking pro-ISIS and pro-terrorism content on Facebook.

And according to the documents, the suspect was discharged from the Marine Corps. He had prior military experience with a "sharpshooter" rifle qualification and expertise with rifle marksmanship.
The Times of Israel adds:
The FBI said Friday that it found a martyrdom letter and several guns in the home of a former Marine who may have been planning a Christmas Day attack on a popular the Socialist paradise of San Francisco tourist destination.

Everitt Aaron Jameson, 26, a Modesto tow-truck driver, was charged Friday with attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. It was not clear if he had an attorney.

Pier 39, packed with restaurants, bars and souvenir shops, is one of San Francisco’s most popular tourist spots. Home to the city’s aquarium, the pier offers free live music and street performances and offers a good spot to photograph sea lions that gather in the marina below.

Agents raided his home Wednesday, finding a martyr’s letter signed with an Islamic variation of his name, along with his last will and testament updated in November. They also found fireworks, two rifles and a 9mm handgun.

Jameson, who was set for an afternoon court appearance in federal court in Fresno, had attended Marine basic recruit training in 2009 and earned a sharpshooter rifle qualification.

He was discharged for failing to disclose a history of asthma, the affidavit said. He referred to his military service in comments to undercover agents.
And from CBS-San Francisco:
Jameson appeared in a federal court in Fresno Friday afternoon. His public defender, Eric Kersten, denied the allegations.
No, no! Certainly not!
but did not enter a plea. Jameson was described as stoic and mostly silent during Friday’s proceedings, only occasionally speaking privately with Kersten.

According to the criminal complaint unsealed Friday, Jameson "has espoused radical jihadi beliefs, including authoring social media posts that are supportive of terrorism, communicating with people he believes share his jihadi views and offering to provide services to such people ..."

Jameson allegedly detailed his plans for the terror attack with an undercover FBI agent whom he believed was associated with the big shotship of ISIS. The alleged plot involved setting off explosives remotely in one area of Pier 39 and then mowing people down with automatic rifle fire as they fled.

The plot seemed to unravel earlier this week. Jameson told the agent that he had second thoughts about carrying out his plan, but agents had enough evidence to search his Modesto home, according to the complaint.

Agents said a suicide note written by Jameson was also found at the home, which took credit for what was to be the Pier 39 attack. The note read, "You all have brought this upon yourselves," and denounced this week’s announcement by President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
that the U.S. would recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The Islamic Center of Merced told KPIX 5 he attended their facility and was a recent convert to Islam.

If convicted, he faces a maximum 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Posted by: Fairbanks || 12/23/2017 4:16 Comments || Top||

#3  Logos has 2 primary meanings these days, one is in Christian exegesis, Logos is God and "Word" - meaning the ground truth that underlays everything. In the beginning, the Word was with God and God was the Word (Christ is the Word).

Philosophically, Logos goes to that idea of ground truth, the basic facts, and logic that an argument is made on top of - the foundation for facts, and for truth. Liberals have a problem with this because they build their house on sand (relativism), which allows them to change at a whim. Demanding the ground truth of progressives and liberals confuses them because they have no answer - they are incapable of producing one that will allow logic to follow, because they have no solid basis, Logos, for their premise. The concept of ground truth, of absolutes, is so alien they cannot process it in many cases.

Its like trying to explain Tsiolkovsky's rocket equation and Kepler's laws of orbital mechanics to a social justice womens studies major. They will end up looking at you slack-jawed and stupid, then start screeching about emotions and feelings. The rocket equation doesn't care how you feel, either you produce enough delta-V and in the correct magnitude and direction, and you get to orbit, or you do not and instead fall back to earth. its numbers and math and physics. Emotion has no bearing.

1. Islam is a religious political and cultural system. Its no more deserving of protection than that of Nazism or Communism with which, by the way, it shares a great deal. Islam is not a race and therefore criticism of it is not racist.

2. Regarding Irrational Leftism and its offspring, political correctness and moral and cultural relativism--The greater threat to Classical civilisation is that of irrational leftism.

Border patrol agents tricked into providing security for ‘cartel wedding'
[FoxNews] A U.S. citizen banned from Mexico, who wed his Mexican fiancée during a special event at the border last month, was reportedly revealed as a convicted drug smuggler, leaving border patrol agents furious over providing “armed security for a cartel wedding.”

Brian Houston was cleared to marry the love of his life, Evelia Reyes, during the “Door of Hope” event last month after passing a federal background check. He requested the ceremony because he claimed he could not cross into Tijuana.

But it has been revealed that the groom is barred from Mexico because he is a convicted drug smuggler, currently awaiting his sentencing in San Diego federal court after he was caught smuggling 43 pounds of heroin, 47 pounds of methamphetamine and 43 pounds of cocaine back in February, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

The presiding federal judge in the Bundy Ranch Standoff has declared a mistrial because of government prosecutorial misconduct.

Among the many problems in the government's case, aside from the fact that this is the government's fourth trial, was the "revelation" that the Bureau of Land Management used snipers trained on protesters, which this column reported three years ago. The contractors used by the government as snipers lost their nerve when told that they themselves were under the observation of snipers from one of the militias present. Or so the story goes.

Two years after the standoff this column argued that the entire episode was driven by government snitches, from the false information that a government drone unit was targeting the gathering to the film crew folding a documentary, was operated by the government.

Instead of the law being used to protect everyone, it was applied to the federal government's political enemies, most of whom were paid by the government to begin with.

Calling it Kabuki Theater is too kind of a characterization.

Shifting gears, Hershel Smith featured some information on breaking in a new rifle barrel. And the tips offered by his readers range from cleaning the gun, especially the chamber after each single shot for the first ten, to cleaning it after the first several magazines fired, to cleaning it when you get around to it.

One of the comments mentions that cleaning the chamber helps more than the rest of the barrel. On the AK-74, cleaning the crown of metal fouling is the main thing you will be doing after the 15th magazine you fire. Your experience may vary.

Loads.

Kenya Police Raid Islamic School, Arresting Teachers And Holding 100 Children
[RADIOSHABELLE] Kenyan police raided an Islamic school on Tuesday, arresting two teachers and taking around 100 children into protective custody in what police described as a counter-terrorism operation involving foreign law-enforcement agencies.

Police described the school in Likoni, south of the port city of Mombasa, as a centre for indoctrinating young men and children with Death Eater ideology.

"The place has been monitored for a long time," said a police source who asked not to be named. The police front man was unavailable for comment.

Kenya is mostly Christian but has a large Islamic population. It is relatively free from religious tension, although it has suffered repeated deadly attacks from Somali Islamist Death Eaters.

A local Moslem leader confirmed the operation but said there was no evidence of any illegal activity.

"A group of local and foreign coppers raided the madrasa (Islamic school) where the pupils were sleeping and took them with their teachers," Sheikh Hassan Omar, a bigwig in the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya (CIPK), an umbrella body for Kenya’s religious leaders, told journalists in Mombasa.

"There are nearly 100 pupils and four madrasa teachers who have been tossed in the calaboose
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
and detained at police headquarters and nobody is telling us what crime they have committed."

It was not immediately clear why the police and CIPK gave different totals for the number of teachers arrested.

Omar said the officers asked for identification documents, including birth certificates from the children, and their teachers before they took them.

Another police source told Rooters the operation was sparked by intelligence information that both foreign and local children were being indoctrinated in the school.

"We have been assisted by some friends from outside with information and monitoring of this madrasa. That is normal with such cross-border criminal issues," said another senior police officer, who also asked not to be named. He did say which foreign country was involved in the raid.

"They (the children) will be released one by one after we interrogate and clear them," he said.

Iraq
International support continues for Kurdish Peshmerga fight against ISIS
[Rudaw] ERBIL, Kurdistan Region ‐ The 70-nation international anti-ISIS coalition will continue to work with Kurdish Peshmerga, through funding, training, advising, and assisting, despite disagreements between the KRG and Iraqi government.

"The battle of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, the cooperation between the Iraqi Security Forces and the Peshmerga, was something that was historic, something we still want to build upon even as there’s tension between Baghdad and Erbil..." explained Brett McGurk, the US Special Presidential Envoy to the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS in a presser on Thursday night.

Of the $1.269 billion appropriated in the Iraq Train & Equip Fund for 2018 in the US National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), $270 million in stipends and $95 million in sustainment is earmarked by its congress specifically for the Peshmerga.

"Lobbying efforts" in Washington successfully swayed Congress to remove "unfavorable language" from initial versions of the NDAA. The initial verbiage essential conditioned Peshmerga aid on being more directly integrated into the Iraqi security forces and on Iraqi bases.

In addition to the United States and key coalition member nations have promised to continue their support for Kurdish Peshmerga, including professionalization of the force that has been faulted for being politicized and lacking unity.

"We initiated it. We started it. We proposed it. And we are leading it," said UK Consul General to Erbil in an interview with Rudaw on Sunday. "We have dedicated staff who are doing that job. There here, and they're still here, they'll remain here.

"The unification and professionalization of Peshmerga is more important, and I think that has become more evident over the past few months. And we are committed to that."

The British stance echoes that of German Defense Minister Ursula van der Leyen, who contrary to her country's politicians, has argued to re-authorize a one-year deployment of up to 150 soldiers to train Peshmerga.

"I would welcome extending deployment early next year ‐ and not just for three months but once again in the typical pattern of one year," Leyen told Funke Mediengruppe on Saturday, as KRG Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani was in Berlin meeting with the defense and foreign ministers, along with Chancellor Angela Merkel
...chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom. Now they make faces at her for inundating the country with Moslems ..
"[W]e stand with our partners in the fight against terror," added Leyen.

French President Emmanuel Macron noted the "rights of the Kurds" and "their commitment to the fight against terrorism" in a statement released on December 3 after hosting Barzani.

"The Peshmerga, alongside the Iraqi federal forces, fought with great courage and determination against ISIS for Iraq and the world," stated Macron, using another term for ISIS.

Macron expressed La Belle France's commitment to the 2005 Iraqi constitution. The constitution enshrines the autonomy of the Kurdistan Region and its Peshmerga.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
have separately declared a victory over ISIS in Iraq.

Rudaw has reported of groupings of unknown militias in the disputed areas near Tuz Khurmatu, additionally on Tuesday, Kurdish Peshmerga killed one ISIS fighter while trying to arrest a band of the holy warriors near Makhmur.

"We estimate that there are about 1,000 ISIS bandidos turbans remaining" in Iraq and Syria the coalition told Rudaw English on Friday.

McGurk highlighted the accelerated pressure over the past 11 months leading to the destruction of the ISIS caliphate but cautioned against this being the end of the bully boy group.

"ISIS will be around for a while," he said. "...we have a long way to go."

Secret Congressional Investigation Going On For Weeks, FBI, DOJ, & Mueller TRAPPED
[ConservativeDailyPost] For weeks, a splinter group of the House intelligence committee has been gathering around Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) to secretly do their own investigation of "corruption and conspiracy in the upper ranks of federal law enforcement."

The core Republican faction of devoted conservatives has been discreetly working behind the scenes to determine just how deeply the Justice Department was violated by Hillary Clinton’s slimy political tentacles. Along with proving that the FBI and DOJ are inherently biased in favor of Hillary Clinton, Republicans are sure to use their findings as evidence that Robert Mueller’s inquisition really is a witch hunt, proving he must be immediately dismissed as special counsel.

"I hate to use the word corrupt, but they’ve become at least so dirty that who’s watching the watchmen? Who’s investigating these people?" Nunes asked recently. "There is no one."

#7  Interestingly, the WSJ wrote an article yesterday that most of the collusion stuff and election meddling in the dossier is directly related to an editorial Fusion wrote for the WSJ almost 10 years ago.

So we have a dossier written by Fusion based upon their editorial written 10 years ago about Russian lobbying and influence peddling with regard to legislation. Interestingly, the article focuses on Paul Manafort...which seems to be the source of the Mueller investigation of Paul...

So the dossier in many ways is a closed loop, with much of the source research originating with the same group that wrote the dossier.

Pretty much shows the dossier was junk.

In my intelligence world I would have given the dossier a F-6 rating for source and reliability.

#18  IN another time, I was a US Capitol Police Officer for 3 years. We had primary jurisdiction on US Capitol Property (defined by the Architect of the Capitol) and concurrent jurisdiction in the rest of the United States, including DC. Arrests for violations of DC statutes were referred to the Corporation Counsel (DA equivalent) and bookings were at the DC Jail. Arrests for violations of federal law were also booked a the DC Jail, but the referral was to the DoJ and the hold was a pending arraignment agreement. The Capitol back then had no holding cells beyond the 3 squad rooms (House, Senate Office Buildings and Capitol) and transport was always to DC Jail for booking.
So, absent DoJ support, you have trouble at the time of booking...

There is a reason for that when matters of intelligence collection are involved. Care to guess who has the regulatory upper hand ?

#21  Thank you for your service NoMore. Under a Congressional hearing, which might be considered a "court" no crime is committed but rather a contempt of court. Hence no arrest booking would be in affect.

The judges are the committee members. So it would actually make sense that a subpoenaed witness could possibly, be taken into custody until they testify. Which again is an open question. And should be forced as an issue against the FBI and DOJ members that will not talk. Since the committee actually oversees those deep staters, they in fact might possibly be able to call the Sergeant at Arms to take the witnesses into holdings.

I take it this has never been done. On the other hand I seem to recall something similar. Regardless it should be or at least tried.

Quite frankly without that in play, the contempt finding is a fricking joke. See Eric Holder as a party favor larger that life example.

At the least House members could demand cutting off funding to those agencies until asked testimony is provided, given. I'd pay a nickel to see a GOP leader try it.

I'm a little surprised no one has taken this to the hilt. Without the demand to hold in custody, cut funding or at least demanding firing. The Committee findings are questionable if not a toothless joke.

Thus endeth my Constitutional question rant of the day.

Iraq
Two Yezidi children freed following a month-long rescue operation
[Rudaw] DUHOK, Kurdistan Region ‐ Two Yezidi children who were held captive by ISIS snuffies in Iraq and Syria for over three years have been rescued and reunited with their family in the Kurdistan Region.

The Kurdish authorities working through a smuggler were able to conduct a successful rescue operation that took a month of planning.

A girl, aged 16, and a boy aged 9, were both held by ISIS snuffies in Syria when they were rescued.

"ISIS were dirty. They were beating and abusing us. They also separates us from our relatives, among other things," Inas, the Yezidi girl told Rudaw after she reunited with her relatives.

The fate of her parents, and two of her sisters is still unknown.

Her uncle was among the relatives who received her back in Duhok province where many of the Yezidi people who have been displaced as the result of the Yezidi genocide have taken refuge.

He said the family have been in contact with the rescuers for a month.

Walid, the 9-year old Yezidi boy, was received by his parents. His mother said he does not speak either Arabic or Kurdish, two languages widely used by the Yezidi community. The family is from the Yezidi town of Tal Qasab, near Shingal west of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
that was the focus of the ISIS onslaught in August 2014, displacing hundreds of thousands of the Yezidi population to the Kurdistan Region and elsewhere.

"We are very glad that our son has returned," his mother said. "We hope that the remaining missing ones will return and head home."

3,226 Yezidis have been rescued, according to the KRG office that is tasked with rescuing those who suffered at the hands of the ISIS group. There are still 3,191 people in ISIS captivity or their fate are unknown.

Khalil Asaf, the smuggler who helped rescue the two children, said that the boy was held by an Iraqi ISIS turban.

Kurdish authorities have spent millions of dollars to locate and rescue the Yezidis held by the ISIS snuffies in Iraq and Syria.

Note: names of the two Yezidi children have been changed to protect their identity.

Islamic State has rest houses with five-star services, southwest of Kirkuk
Hawija (IraqiNews.com) An official from Kirkuk province has said none of the displaced families has returned to Hawija town, southwest of the province, as the combing operations are still ongoing.

"We did not record return of any family to Hawija as the operations to purge the town from explosives are still ongoing by the security troops," Ahmed Khorshid, member of the town’s municipal council, told AlSumaria News on Friday.

"The huge amount of explosives, planted by Islamic State

in Hawija, delayed the combing in Hawija," he said. ’Defense teams as well as security troops managed to remove more than 5,000 bombs."

The myrmidon group, according to Khorshid, "still owns rest houses with five-star services. These rest houses are in Wadi Zgheitoun, Wadi abul Khanager between al-Riyad and al-Rashad. They are still used by the group. They have all kinds of food commodities and electricity generators."

In November, Khorshid described Hawija as the city of ghosts for being empty of its residents, saying that IS gunnies are still hiding at rest houses in the desert regions.

One of the military personnel hurled hand grenades against the myrmidons, killing many of them

Instructions, according to the statement, ordered destroying the tunnel through an Arclight airstrike, which killed the myrmidons. "After the tunnel was destroyed, eight IS bodies were found, along with 43 bombs."

Afghanistan
Pence visits Afghanistan, reiterates US stance on terror safe havens in Pakistan
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The US Vice President Mike Pence arrived to Afghanistan in an unannounced visit to meet with the Afghan officials and US military based in the country.

In his speech to the US military in Bagram airfield, Vice President Pence reiterated Washington’s stance regarding the terror safe havens in Pakistain.

He said "For too long Pakistain has provided safe haven to the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
and many terrorist organizations, but those days are over. President Trump has put Pakistain on notice."

"As the President said, so I say now: Pakistain has much to gain from partnering with the United States, and Pakistain has much to lose by continuing to harbor criminals and terrorists," he added.

This comes as the US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
had earlier expressed concerns regarding the terror safe havens posing threats to Afghanistan and the United States.

President Trump in his new national security strategy has stated that the United States continues to face threats from transnational snuffies and holy warriors operating from within Pakistain.
