Dem Super PAC Poll Tested Using Dreamer Deal To Shut Down The Government
Democrats conducted a poll in states President Donald Trump won in 2016 to determine what would happen if a shutdown was tied to immigration, according to a report Sunday from The Washington Post.

A Super PAC allied with Senate Democrats commissioned a poll in 12 battleground states to determine which party would be blamed if a shutdown was tied to the legal status of dreamers. The poll found Democrats absorb most of the blame in such a scenario.

The poll, which was conducted in December by Garin-Hart-Yang Research Group on behalf of Senate Majority PAC, also found that blame for a shutdown would be split between Trump and Republicans, and Democrats in Congress, WaPo reported.

The results of the survey might help explain the all-out ad blitz Democrats conducted shortly after the government shutdown. Democratic affiliated groups are working overtime trying to shore up support for Sens. Robert P. Casey Jr. of Pennsylvania and Sherrod Brown of Ohio after both sided with their parties during the budget fiasco.

Democrats, who knew the attacks were coming, have blasted conservative states with videos and online ads that point to muddled quotes Trump made in 2013 and 2017 about how a government shutdown would be beneficial for his party. Priorities USA, a Democratic super PAC, for instance, spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on a digital ad buy targeting swing seats.

"What’s President Trump up to?" asks a narrator in the ad, which is spliced together with images evoking national security concerns connected to a government shutdown. "He says our country needs a good government shutdown."

Republican and Democratic leaders, for their part, have not stopped talking through their differences. Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney, for instance, said late Friday night that the conflict has a "really good chance" of being resolved before the weekend concludes. But little headway has been made since.

Both parties took substantial risks. Republicans refused to bend to the Democrat’s demands to negotiate DACA, while the minority party largely unified to use the shutdown deadline to exact protections from the GOP for hundreds of thousands of young illegal immigrants.

Republicans tried to sweeten the deal, offering Democrats a long-term extension of the Children’s Health Insurance Program, or CHIP, as well as the delay of some unpopular health care taxes. Republicans believed the public would blame Democrats if the sweetener was rejected.

Yet Democrats are pushing hard to paint their ideological opponents as obstructionists who used CHIP as a political weapon.

"They don’t give a damn about these kids," Casey Jr. said at a press conference shortly after the shutdown. "If they gave a damn, they would have gotten it done in September, or October, or November, or December ... now, suddenly, they have a newfound love for CHIP?"

Republicans control 51 seats in the Senate, while Democrats have 49. It requires 60 votes to pass a spending bill, and the majority party cannot use reconciliation to reduce the number of votes required for cloture.

Israel delivers surveillance jet to Italy to complete trade deal
Israel delivered a second advanced reconnaissance jet to the Italian Air Force on Sunday, completing a reciprocal trade deal signed in 2012.

The NIS 4 billion deal saw the Israel Air Force acquire 30 Leonardo M-346 Lavi jets to train its next generation of pilots. Italy purchased an equivalent value of Israeli aerospace technology, including satellites and the two G550 Conformal Airborne Early Warning and Control (CAEW) surveillance planes.

RIP: Weather Channel founder John Coleman dies – Called ‘global warming' a ‘hoax'
He did the weather here on "K...UUUSI" TV
San Diego's high kicking weatherman John Coleman dies – January 21, 2018 – John Coleman, the dancing, prancing San Diego weatherman who tickled television viewers by the way he would sing out the letter U in KUSI-TV's call letters, died on Saturday. He was 83. Coleman, who also angered many people by insisting that global warming is a hoax, died at his home in Las Vegas, according to KUSI, where he served as a forecaster from 1994 to 2014, when he retired. The station did not announce the cause of death, but it did say that Coleman was surrounded by family when he passed away. His 2014 retirement capped a 60-year career during which served Coleman as the first forecaster on ABC's "Good Morning America," then went on to found the Weather Channel during the early days of cable television. The channel evolved from a little known number on the dial to the place millions of Americans turn first to track everything from hurricanes in Florida to blizzards in the Midwest to Santa Ana winds in California. "Like a strike of lightening (sic), a clap of thunder and a ray of sunshine, legendary weatherman John Coleman was an exciting, powerful and humorous force in the lives of so many," KUSI evening anchor Sandra Maas said Sunday on Twitter.

Gingrich: ‘Schumer Shutdown' a ‘Major Mistake' ‐ Dems Pitted 700k Illegals Against Men, Women of U.S. Military
[Breitbart] Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and the Democrats made a "major mistake" by shutting down the government.

According to Gingrich, the shutdown is "not what the Democrats hoped for."

"[T]he Democrats made a huge mistake because what they should have done was pass the defense appropriations bill for the whole year ‐ get it off the table, don’t threaten the men and women in uniform and their families,’ Gingrich told John Catsimatidis, host New York AM 970 radio’s "The Cats Roundtable." "Instead, they stumbled into a situation where the Schumer shutdown cuts off funding for the American military on behalf of trying to get a deal for 700,000 people who entered the U.S. illegally."

He added, "I am totally opposed to holding up as hostage the families and the men and women in uniform who are risking their lives to protect this country."

David Kupelian reflects on cosmic madness of sanitized baby-killing on Roe v Wade's 45th birthday
[WND] For most of us, the death of a child is our worst nightmare.

The Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre was so singularly gut-wrenching because the victims were mostly young children. Likewise, news reports about the Boston Marathon bombing emphasized the fact that, of the three people killed, one was an 8-year-old boy ‐ as if to highlight the uniquely great loss of a child.

In the world of crime, one of the most incomprehensible acts is baby murder. We’re outraged at the widespread sex-selective infanticide of newborn girls in China. And news headlines like "Georgia boys face murder charges after cold-blooded killing of infant being strolled by mother" and "Black teens murder white baby for the fun of it" cause us to shake our heads and wonder, How could anyone possibly sink so low?

Many murders of babies ‐ almost half, according to the Justice Department’s National Criminal Justice Reference Service ‐ occur within the first 24 hours after birth, so-called "neonaticide."

Of course, appalling crimes like these have always have been a part of life in this fallen world ‐ a world of good and evil, of decent and indecent people, where moral outrage is kindled within all good souls by the murder of the innocent.

Democrat Shunned By Own Party After Speaking At March For Life
[Daily Caller] Illinois Democratic Reps. Luis Gutierrez and Jan Schakowsky turned against fellow Democratic Rep. Dan Lipinski this week after their colleague of more than a decade gave a headline speech at Chicago’s March For Life.

All three members of Congress represent districts in the Chicago area, and Gutierrez’ and Schakowsky’s unprecedented endorsement of Lipinski’s little-known opponent in the upcoming primary is a clear sign that the Democratic party will no longer tolerate pro-life members. While Lipinski has been a pro-life Democrat for years, he appears to have committed an unforgivable sin by giving an address at a March For Life in Chicago. Lipinski has admitted he is unsurprised by the reaction of his colleagues, Politico reported.

"Jan has worked against me in the past. She’s never come out formally against me. Her husband has been straight about working against me," Lipinski told POLITICO. "It certainly does not surprise me. Even though I have supported her when she ran for vice chair of the caucus ... I’ve been back and forth with Luis. He’s been with me, he’s not been with me. I’m not sure what his future is."

Gutierrez styled his rebuke as an unfortunate necessity in a time when the Democratic party must be united in its total condemnation of President Donald Trump.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Chairmen Devin Nunes & Trey Gowdy Plot "Never-Before-Used Procedure" To #ReleaseTheMemo
[Washington Examiner via GP] Washington Examiner reports:

There’s no doubt Republicans want the public to see the classified memo. To get it out, they are studying a never-before-used procedure whereby House Intelligence Committee members would vote to make the memo public, after which the president would have five days to object.

If the president had no objection, the memo would become public after those five days. If the president did object, the matter would go to the full House, which could vote to overrule the president’s objections and release the memo anyway.

Republicans believe it is unlikely they would have to go that far; why would President Trump object to the release of a document allegedly showing that Obama administration officials abused the law in investigating Trump? But even if there were an objection, the feeling is the House would go ahead.

After millions of Americans called on Congress to release the memo, Rep. Dave Joyce (R-OH) announced Saturday that the process has begun.

#4  Here is what we now know, per intelligence gleaned form federal law enforcement sources with insider knowledge of what amounts to a plot by U.S. intelligence agencies to secure back door and illegal wiretaps of President Trump’s associates:

Six U.S. agencies created a stealth task force, spearhead by CIA’s Brennan, to run domestic surveillance on Trump associates and possibly Trump himself.

To feign ignorance and to seemingly operate within U.S. laws, the agencies freelanced the wiretapping of Trump associates to the British spy agency GCHQ.

The decision to insert GCHQ as a back door to eavesdrop was sparked by the denial of two FISA Court warrant applications filed by the FBI to seek wiretaps of Trump associates.

GCHQ did not work from London or the UK. In fact the spy agency worked from NSA’s headquarters in Fort Meade, MD with direct NSA supervision and guidance to conduct sweeping surveillance on Trump associates.

The illegal wiretaps were initiated months before the controversial Trump dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele.

The Justice Department and FBI set up the meeting at Trump Tower between Trump Jr., Manafort and Kushner with controversial Russian officials to make Trump’s associates appear compromised.

Following the Trump Tower sit down, GCHQ began digitally wiretapping Manafort, Trump Jr., and Kushner.

After the concocted meeting by the Deep State, the British spy agency could officially justify wiretapping Trump associates as an intelligence front for NSA because the Russian lawyer at the meeting Natalia Veselnitskaya was considered an international security risk and prior to the June sit down was not even allowed entry into the United States or the UK, federal sources said.

By using GCHQ, the NSA and its intelligence partners had carved out a loophole to wiretap Trump without a warrant. While it is illegal for U.S. agencies to monitor phones and emails of U.S. citizens inside the United States absent a warrant, it is not illegal for British intelligence to do so. Even if the GCHQ was tapping Trump on U.S. soil at Fort Meade.

The wiretaps, secured through illicit scheming, have been used by U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe of alleged Russian collusion in the 2016 election, even though the evidence is considered “poisoned fruit.”

[Daily Caller via Townhall] The Daily Caller reports that the FBI "failed to preserve five months of text messages" exchanged between two anti-Trump FBI employees who may have compromised on going investigations such as the Clinton e-mail scandal and the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The Daily Caller’s Chuck Ross reports that "The disclosure was made Friday in a letter sent by the Justice Department to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC).

'The Department wants to bring to your attention that the FBI’s technical system for retaining text messages sent and received on FBI mobile devices failed to preserve text messages for Mr. Strzok and Ms. Page,' Stephen Boyd, the assistant attorney general for legislative affairs at the Justice Department, wrote to Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, the chairman of HSGAC

He said that texts are missing for the period between Dec. 14, 2016 and May 17, 2017."

As this author previously noted, according to the Washington Post, Strzok's actions may have influenced other investigations, such as the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton's illegal e-mail use. The "text messages with a colleague" the Times refers to is regarding messages critical of President Trump exchanged with FBI attorney Lisa Page, with whom Strzok was having an affair.

#5  Dunno.

See paragraph #1 HERE which specifically acknowledges receipt of the "missing" emails by Michael E. Horowitz of the IG office:

"Following our review of those text messages, the OIG expanded our request to the FBI to include all text messages between Strzok and Page from November 30, 2016, through the date of the document request, which was July 28, 2017. The OIG received these additional messages on August 10, 2017."

#6  I thought NSA had copies of all of that stuff.

It would take the combined efforts of several agencies to completely "lose" a bunch of text messages sent back and forth across official use cellphones.

Those text messages must be dynamite for the FBI and others to delete them, I wonder when they were deleted? Probably about the time the last batch was discovered.

Two improvised explosive devices go off at Eagle Ridge Mall in Lake Wales
[ABC] LAKE WALES, Fla. -- Two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) go off at Eagle Ridge Mall. Lake Wales fire crews responded to an alarm call at 451 Eagle Ridge Drive around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

When fire crews arrived at the location, they saw smoke coming from a corridor located next to the mall entrance of JCPenney. The fire department located two pipe bomb type devices that ignited in the corridor of the building.

Was Lynch coordinating with Comey in the Clinton investigation?
[The Hill] Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch knew well in advance of FBI Director James Comey's 2016 press conference that he would recommend against charging Hillary Clinton, according to information turned over to the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Friday.

The revelation was included in 384 pages of text messages exchanged between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, and it significantly diminishes the credibility of Lynch's earlier commitment to accept Comey's recommendation ‐ a commitment she made under the pretense that the two were not coordinating with each other.

And it gets worse. Comey and Lynch reportedly knew that Clinton would never face charges even before the FBI conducted its three-hour interview with Clinton, which was supposedly meant to gather more information into her mishandling of classified information.

Newly released texts between ex-Mueller team members suggest they knew outcome of Clinton email probe in advance
[FOX] The Justice Department has given various congressional committees nearly 400 pages of additional text messages between two FBI officials who were removed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian officials.

One of the newly discovered messages, lawmakers said, appeared to indicate that Peter Strzok and Lisa Page knew that charges would not be filed against Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton as a result of the investigation into her email server -- before Clinton was interviewed by the bureau.

Strzok and Page were pulled off the probe last summer after it emerged that some of their messages to each other included anti-Trump content. Strzok, an FBI counterintelligence agent, was reassigned to the Bureau's human resources division after the discovery of the exchanges with Page, with whom he was having an affair.

According to a Saturday letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray from Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, the Justice Department provided 384 pages of messages to lawmakers on Friday. However, Johnson noted that additional texts sent between Dec. 14, 2016 and May 17 of last year were not preserved by the FBI's system.

Gaza family kills own son after Hamas says he aided Israel
[IsraelTimes] Terror group was investigating Ahmed Barhoum, believing him to be responsible for a 2014 Arclight airstrike that killed 3 commanders

A Paleostinian family said it had killed one of its members Friday after Gazoo’s Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", rulers said he aided Israel in killing three of the terrorist group’s commanders.

The family said in a statement that a relative shot Ahmed Barhoum dead, but did not say which family member pulled the trigger. It said they followed developments in the Hamas investigation and believed their son was guilty.

The family noted the relative was locked away
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
and interrogated by the "resistance," meaning he was detained outside the Paleostinian litigation system. There was no immediate statement from Hamas.

The Hamas commanders were killed near the end of the 50-day war with Israel in 2014 during an airstrike on a house.

Hamas has executed dozens of Paleostinians for collaboration since seizing Gazoo in 2007.
Ynet adds:
The Barhoums are one of Rafah's largest families and well known for their closeness to Paleostinian bad boy groups at odds with Israel. Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbung millipede,, the Islamist movement that dominates the small, impoverished enclave, issued a statement praising the Barhoum family's action as illustrating "its nobleness and deep affiliation with the (anti-Israel) resistance".

Home Front: Culture Wars
The Imaginary Hispanic
There are two statistics that explain the Democrat obsession with illegal immigration and open borders.

97% of immigrants in the appropriate grouping identify themselves as Hispanic, but by the fourth generation that number falls to half. Only 7% of immigrants describe themselves as Americans, but 56% in the third generation call themselves Americans. Even the use of Spanish is slowly declining.

If a minority stops existing after a few generations, did it ever actually exist?

The Democrats had abandoned their working class base to chase what they pretended was a racial group when what they were actually chasing was the momentum of unlimited migration.

In the economics of identity politics, Hispanics, unlike African-Americans, are not an enduring group. And that is a serious challenge for Democrats and their leftist allies who treat politics as a game of demographic Risk played with minorities across the states and cities of the United States.

...Democrats have pinned their hopes for a national majority on a European origin group whose minority status is cultural and linguistic. And even without the old melting pot, foreign languages and cultural affinities decline across generations as immigrants become Americans. What Democrats really want aren’t a lot of Hispanics, but an endless firehose of first generation immigrants.

...The Democrats don’t value the DACA illegal aliens who benefited from Obama’s equally illegal amnesty because, as they claim, they’re really Americans. They only care about them to the extent that they aren’t. And even they’re useful only as a wedge issue for open borders and unlimited migration.

...The Democrats need to maintain higher percentages of immigrants relative to the immigrants of previous generations. It’s a demographic Ponzi scheme that like all such schemes can only end in disaster. But the Democrats have embraced it out of greed and have no choice now but to keep the scam going even if it bankrupts cities and states, and eventually tears the entire country apart.

...When the Democrats bet everything on illegal migration, they alienated millions of voters who went on to help elect President Trump. The alienated working class vote forced them to double down even harder on illegal aliens. Losing traditional constituencies to identity politics has always radicalized Dems. And 2016 was no different. Instead of political accommodation, the Dems embraced #resistance.

But their new majority depends on open borders. A wall doesn’t just cut off the pathway of illegal aliens into this country; it cuts off the pathway of the Democrats to their new majority. And then their political Ponzi scheme falls apart, as such schemes usually do, when the momentum feeding it fails.

That’s why a border wall is a threat to the political survival of the Democrats. And it’s why they will do everything they can to stop it.

#1  They irony is that birth control has taken hold south of the border, resulting in fewer immigrants to enter illegally.

Therefore their insane interest in Arab Muslim immigrants (but NOT Arab Christians).

In addition, more Black babies end in (subsidized) abortions than are born, so the Black base will be shrinking very soon.

Tunisian forces kill top aide of Al Qaeda leader in Maghreb

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. button men killed dozens of foreign tourists in a museum in the capital, Tunis, and on a beach in the resort city of Sousse.

Algerian Bilel Kobi was "the right arm of Abou Wadoud" and was killed in an ambush near the Algerian border when on a mission to reorganize AQIM's Tunisian branch following strikes by Tunisian forces against it, the source told Rooters.

Last year Tunisian forces killed Islamist holy warriors including Mourad Chaieb, the Algerian leader of Okba Ibn Nafaa, a group that has fought for years with security forces in Tunisia's mountainous interior.

The country also faces a potential threat from Tunisian holy warriors returning from abroad. More than 3,000 are thought to have left to fight for jihadist groups in Syria, Iraq and Libya over the past years.

's Jan. 12 ultimatum to "fix" the Iran nuclear deal, European powers met Iran's foreign minister to show support for it, but the effort failed to soften Trump's aversion to the accord, US and European officials said.

The gathering in Brussels may even have reinforced the US president's antipathy, according to three US officials involved in the discussions.

Trump instead gave the European allies, Britannia, La Belle France, Germany, and the US Congress 120 days to come up with a tougher approach on Tehran or see U.S. sanctions reimposed, they said.

With Trump warning of a last chance for "the worst deal ever negotiated", Britannia, La Belle France and Germany have begun talks on a plan to satisfy him by addressing Iran's ballistic missile tests and its regional influence while preserving the 2015 accord that curbed Iran's nuclear ambitions for at least a decade.

Egyptian police kill 'dangerous arms smuggler' in Upper Egypt's Qena governorate
[AlAhram] Egyptian police forces killed Sunday a "dangerous arms smuggler" during a shootout at a checkpoint in Upper Egypt's Qena governorate, an interior ministry statement said.

Upon security intel, police forces deployed at several checkpoints to arrest Sharaf F, 58, notorious for arms and ammunition smuggling operations through the country's Eastern Desert routes.

"While approaching a security checkpoint deployed at Qeft-Quasair in the vicinity of Qena governorate, the criminal element opened fire from his semi-truck, prompting security forces to fire back, leading to the truck hitting the checkpoint barriers and the death of the smuggler," the statement said.

"The criminal element was wanted for arrest in two cases for possession of illegal arms and ammunition."

Searching the smuggler's truck, police forces found 32 automatic rifles and 33 hidden sacks of ammunition.

Jordan pushed Pence to re-align with two-state solution
[IsraelTimes] Jordan’s king has appealed to US Vice President Mike Pence to "rebuild trust and confidence" in the possibility of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict, following fallout from the Trump administration’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

"Today we have a major challenge to overcome, especially with some of the rising frustrations," Abdullah says.

Pence, in turn, is trying to reassure the monarch that the Trump administration remains committed to restarting Israeli-Paleostinian peace efforts and views Jordan as a central player.

The vice president says that "the United States of America remains committed, if the parties agree, to a two-state solution." Such a caveat deviates from longstanding US support for a two-state solution as the only possible outcome of any peace deal.
Play stupid games, lose stupid prizes.
Pence was expected in Israel in the evening after leaving Jordan.

Jewish Canadian Billionaire Couple Honey and Barry Sherman Were Murdered, Report Says
[Haaretz] Canadian Jewish couple Barry and Honey Sherman were murdered in December in what hired private investigators called a professional, contract killing, The Toronto Star reported on Saturday.

According to a source close to the investigation, the conclusions drawn by a team of experts hired by the Sherman family cast doubt on the prior assumption that the couple's death in December had been a murder-suicide. indicating instead a double-homicide.

A top forensic pathologist who carried out a second autopsy uncovered the existence of rope marks on the victims' wrists, suggesting that they had at some point been tied up, the report said. No ropes or similar materials that could have caused the marks were found near the bodies, further increasing suspicion.

The sources that provided the information for the report were not identified as they were not authorized to discuss the case.

Meanwhile, Toronto police have not released any further comments on the incident beyond their prior classification of the death as "suspicious."

The week after the couple was found dead in their Toronto home, the Sherman family criticized the police for allegedly circulating rumors that the couple's death was a murder-suicide.

New image of Osama bin Laden’s spokesman
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A new photo has been released of Osama bin Laden’s son in law and al-Qaeda spokesman in Iran. The photo has emerged as part of the Abbottabad documents.

The image of the 52-year-old Kuwait-born Sulaiman Abu Ghaith taken north of Tehran showed him in a completely different form his normal appearance in al-Qaeda’s media publications.

The image taken in 2009 showed Abu Ghaith in a family outing organized by Iranian officials during the period al-Qaeda were establishing their presence in Iran.

The picture was described as taken during “a family trip in the tourist areas north of Tehran organized by the prison administration.”

Apart from Abu Ghaith, the trip is likely to have included his wife Fatima bin Laden and their children, along with her brothers Hamza, Othman, Mohammed and Saad, who were all living in the same house.

Abu Ghaith who also appeared in images during Hamza bin Laden’s marriage in Iran in 2005 was born in Kuwait in 1956 and worked as a teacher of jurisprudence and sharia in Kuwait before joining al-Qaeda.

Abu Ghaith was close to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the coordinator of the September 11 attacks, and who is currently being tried in the United States.

Somalia Deploys Forces In Mogadishu After President Fires Mayor
[RADIOSHABELLE] Somalia’s president fired the mayor of the capital Mogadishu on Sunday, in an apparent bid to defuse moves toward greater autonomy for the city.

President Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed named current Information Minister Abdirahman Omar Osman to the post of Mogadishu mayor and governor of the Banadir administration, the region that includes the city, according to a statement from his office.

Osman replaces Thabit Abdi Mohammed who has served just nine months in office.

Immediately after the mayor’s firing, government security forces were deployed across Mogadishu to forestall any potential protest against the move.

Earlier, Mohammed’s supporters in the city council had nominated him to head an autonomous Banadir administration, hoping to secure for the city and surrounding area equal status to Somalia’s six regional states, which have their own presidents and enjoy a greater degree of autonomy.

The central government is opposed to any such efforts.

The row started earlier this month when the mayor called for a conference to discuss the future status of Banadir region, against the will of the president, who is better known by his nickname Farmajo.

Houthis, tribesmen fighting in Dhamar
[Asharq Al-Awsat] Tribal gunmen clashed with Houthi militants on Friday in Anas district south of Dhamar province.

The militants tried to break into al-Hussein village to abduct one of Al-Omran tribe’s sheikhs, who has family ties with the late Yemeni president.

Tribal sources said that "tribesmen clashed with the Houthi militants for several hours and forced them to withdraw after both sides suffered deaths and injuries.”

They stressed that they will not allow their tribal leaders to be handed over to the militias.

In Sana’a, the security apparatus of the Houthi militias arrested Yahya al-Hindwana in al-Hasba district north of the capital because he rejected the group's orders to mobilize the neighborhood's people to join the group's recruitment camps.

As for the repressive actions carried out by the coup group against its opponents, its elements have kidnapped a staff member of the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM) and took him to an unknown location.

Yemeni journalist Abdurrahman Bajash, a veteran journalist and former chief editor of Al-Thawra Newspaper, said in a post on Facebook that armed masked gunmen intercepted his son, Hisham, after leaving his workplace at the IOM and took him to an unknown location.

Bajash did not accuse any specific party but confirmed that he "does not know where his son is until now."

While activists and media figures blamed the Houthi militias in the context of the group's oppressing actions against its opponents.

Grace Mugabe's son 'sneaks out supercars'... but then they crashed
[NEWS24] Three 'supercars' owned by ousted Zim-bob-wean first lady Grace Mugabe and her son have been involved in an accident in Botswana, a newspaper says.

Mmegi Online said on its Twitter account that the three vehicles "believed to be belonging to Grace Mugabe" had had a "freak accident" on the A1 road near the town of Artesia late on Friday. It said the cars - a Porsche, a Rolls Royce and a Range Rover - were badly damaged but the drivers were not hurt. Artesia is around an hour's drive from the capital Gaborone.

There were few other details. A photo posted by the paper to Twitter shows the back of a car with the number plate 'RG SVA' on a grassy track at night. Two people are leaning on the vehicle.

There had already been huge speculation on Zim-bob-wean social media after an affidavit showing Grace Mugabe of the "Grace Mugabe Children's Home" had authorised her son Russell Goreraza to drive one of the cars, the Range Rover, out. Goreraza is Grace's son from her first marriage. Unconfirmed reports from inside Zim-bob-we say the other two vehicles belong to Goreraza.

Cars headed for Johannesburg
Goreraza is said to have told customs officials at the border post that he was taking all three cars to Johannesburg via Botswana to be serviced. Some Zim-bob-weans prefer travelling to South Africa via Botswana these days because that way they can avoid the chaotic Beitbridge border post.

Seizure of assets?
There were suggestions that the former first lady and her son might have been trying to avoid having the cars seized when an amnesty expires for the return of all money illegally spirited from Zim-bob-we during Mugabe's long rule. New president Emmerson Mnangagwa - a former VP who took over after the military intervened last November - has been talking tough on corruption as he seeks to win international confidence (though there are suspicions he may be unfairly targeting only his political rivals).

Appetite for luxury
Grace's appetite for luxury and her barely-cloaked determination to take over from Mugabe made her very unpopular: in fact, she's largely blamed for Mugabe's downfall. There have been hints that she and her two sons with the former president could face investigations - possibly only after Mugabe has died.

Thousands of women in anti-president protest in Togo
[NEWS24] Thousands of women erupted into the streets of Togo's capital Lome on Saturday to protest against the power of President Faure Gnassingbe.

Since September, a coalition of 14 political parties has held almost weekly marches, where thousands have called for Gnassingbe to step down to end the more than 50-year rule of one family.

Opposition leader Jean-Pierre Fabre said during the march it was a "great initiative", adding: "Faced with the refusal of the power to move forward, women have decided to enter the game."

The female-focused demonstration follows similar protests in West Africa, notably the Women of Liberia movement which started in Monrovia in 2003 during the country's civil war.

Setting off from three different meeting points, the women dressed mostly in black and were accompanied by men and opposition leaders for the demonstration, which lasted several hours.

U.S. Senate hopeful Dr. Kelli Ward condemns Sen. Jeff Flake's anti-Trump tirade
[ConservativeBase.com] Dr. Kelli Ward of Arizona, candidate for U.S. Senate, released the following statement today following Senator Jeff Flake’s attack disguised as a speech on the floor of the United States Senate this morning where he compared President Donald Trump to Soviet Dictator Joseph Stalin:

"Jeff Flake’s comparison of President Trump to the brutal dictator Joseph Stalin on the floor of the United States Senate was appalling and an embarrassment to the state of Arizona, said the angry conservative.

Flake has no conscience nor is he a conservative. He’s a RINO in every sense of the term say his critics.

"Flake’s disturbing speech was not only disrespectful to the position and institution he now serves in, it only serves to exacerbate the very problem he claims to be railing against. Arizona voters deserve representation in the U.S. Senate that, regardless of political differences, will never engage in this type of troubling rhetoric," she said.

"I call on all the candidates in the race to replace him in the Senate to join me in publicly condemning his remarks," she added.
Continues, but you get the drift.

Kurdish rep from Syria: Erdogan’s goal is the ‘Kurdish question,’ not YPG
[RUDAW.NET] Asmahan Dawoodi, a member of KNC representation office in the Kurdistan Region, called on Kurds to defend ’their soil’ in Afrin against Ottoman Turkish attacks, while also advocating for KNC diplomacy abroad.

"We call on the people of Afrin to defend their soil..." the Kurdish National Council (KNC, ENKS) member told Rudaw in an interview on Saturday.

Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First

and rid it of the PKK.

"Erdogan’s goal is the ’Kurdish question,’ not YPG, as he claims," said Dawoodi

"Turkey is making deals with Russia and USA on the account of Kurdish blood," she said during an interview with Rudaw on Saturday. "We, as ENKS, will not accept deals on Kurdish blood and soil."

The KNC has attended some of intra-Syrian negotiations brokered by Russia, Turkey, and Iran in Astana. She also said that ENKS representatives visit international bodies and countries to pressure Turkey to stop its attacks.

"ENKS is present in everywhere," said Dawoodi. "Now our representative is in Geneva."

The PYD is the largest Kurdish political party in Syria, but because of Ottoman Turkish objections, have been shut out of peace talks.

The KNC, a political umbrella, has also had representation in the war-torn country, but the KNC and PYD have disagreed on governance. The disagreements have led to violence, jailing and displacement, and their feud remains unresolved.

ENKS has boycotted elections by the Democratic Federal System of Northern Syria, which seeks to achieve a Kurdish enclave in Syrian Kurdistan. YPG, which is the armed wing of the PYD, is the dominant Kurdish force currently in Rojava.

Rojava consists of three regions: Afrin in the west, the Euphrates in the centre, and Jazira in the east.

Other KNC members have said the PYD imposed itself on Rojava through "the use of force" and they were going to refrain from taking part in the "illegitimate" elections."

"The Syrian [crisis] should be resolved through political means, not military means, as decided by international [community] and the UN. Turkey cannot gain anything through military means," Dawoodi said to Rudaw.

Erdogan cannot launch any military campaign against Afrin because "neither Russia nor the USA has given him a green light," claimed the representative.

She advised Erdogan to make deals through congresses and conferences and not through military means.

"Let’s suppose Erdogan controlled Afrin, what can he change? On the contrary, he will deteriorate Syrian crisis," she said.

The areas around Afrin, which Turkey either directly controls militarily or through its Free Syrian Army

3 ISIS Bad Guys detained in Kirkuk
Kirkuk (Iraqinews.com) – Three Islamic State terrorists were arrested Sunday in a security campaign in Kirkuk, a police spokesman was quoted as saying.

Speaking to Mawazin News, Spokesman for the Iraqi Interior Ministry Brigadier General Saad Maan said, “Federal police arrested three terrorists of the so-called Martyrs Battalion of Islamic State in Kirkuk.”

“One of them guided the police to the hiding place of two explosive belts,” Maan added.

“The military operation was launched upon intelligence reports,” he pointed out.

Kirkuk officials previously urged reinforcing the military presence in the south and west of the province, as the region still has Islamic State members who escaped during the liberation of Hawija to remote areas.

The Grand Turk
Erdogan says Afrin operation will be completed in a ‘very short period of time’
[Hurriyet Daily News] Operation Olive Branch against the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) gunnies across the border in Afrin will be completed "in a very short period of time," Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
vowed on Jan. 21.

"We were in contact with our Chief of General Staff [Hulusi Akar] and commanders all night. We are constantly monitoring what is happening. God willing, we will complete this operation within a very short period of time," said Erdogan, addressing supporters in the western city of Bursa before a women’s branch congress of his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).

"We still have a lot of work to do. Necessary steps were taken with the air operation last night [Jan. 20]. Then a ground offensive started and it is now continuing. Fifty-five percent of Afrin is made up of Arabs and 35 percent is made up of Kurds, who were settled there recently. Six or seven percent of Afrin is made up of Turkmens. The main issue is making sure Afrin is handed over to its real owners," he added.

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim previously commented on the ongoing operation, vowing that it would continue until all "terrorist elements are cleared" from the region.

Every kind of logistical support provided to the YPG gunnies in the region would figure among "The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
’s targets," Yildirim said on Jan. 21, speaking to the editors of Ottoman Turkish news publications in a meeting held in Istanbul, in response to a question over what would happen in case of U.S. logistical support to the YPG.

"Operation Olive Branch Operation is for the [Syrian] war to end, for the peace of the local community, and for territorial integrity of Syria ... The operation is in line with international law. It is being conducted for the reason of self-defense, as per the 51st article of the U.N. agreement. The operation is being conducted for the fight against terrorism and the territorial integrity of Syria, within U.N. Security Council Resolutions 1373, 1624, 2170 ... We are also taking great care not to hurt civilians while arsenals and shelters are destroyed," he said.

"In the recent period our borders have been exposed to harassment more than 700 times. Last night six rockets were fired into Kilis. No one has bit the dust, but the location of the rockets was determined and destroyed," Yildirim added.

ABUSE IN HARTHEIM They raped a disabled person: Asylum offenders are free!
As translated from the Austrian by Google:
[Wochenblick.at] At the Hartheim Institute near Alkoven, a 52-year-old woman with multiple disabilities from the Eferding district was allegedly raped by at least two asylum seekers.

Her supervisor indicated the act ( "Wochenblick" reported ).

In a neighboring building, which also belongs to the complex Hartheim and is connected to the care facility, about 40 asylum seekers are housed.

Still no culprits found
As reported by the "Kronen Zeitung" , there are no researched suspects several months after the fact - despite the DNA being confiscated. The public prosecutor's office Wels did not receive any trace evaluation of the Salzburg forensic medicine.

The victim is still suffering from the consequences of the horror act. According to Birgit Ahamer, spokeswoman for the Wels prosecutor, "it can hardly articulate itself.

Raped several times
According to the police, the woman housed in a home for mentally impaired people in Hartheim was forced into sexual activity by asylum seekers. It is unclear whether there were two or even three asylum seekers who abused the disabled woman.

Offenders walk around freely
The victim was taken to the hospital after being reported by her caregiver for an outpatient examination. The woman was diagnosed with injuries and DNA saved.

Despite evidence, the prosecutor has not received the written evaluation, the perpetrators are still running free!

He said strict measures are needed to counter-terrorism without any distinction and in line with the UNSC consensus considering the Kabul attack and other terrorist attacks.

President Ghani reiterated that the people of the region will not be safe until the terror groups and their safe havens are not eliminated.

This comes as a group of bandidos holy warriors launched a coordinated attack on Kabul Intercontinental Hotel late on Saturday night, sparking festivities that continued for almost 15 hours.

Mujahid also claimed that several people were killed in the attack including the foreigners, accusing all the victims of the attack as invaders.

The Ministry of Interior of Afghanistan confirmed that five people including a foreigner were killed and six others were maimed during the festivities.

Iraqi court sentences first foreign woman affiliated with ISIS to death
[RUDAW.NET] A German woman convicted for her affiliation with ISIS has been sentenced to death by an Iraqi court, said the spokesperson for Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council on Monday, the first time a foreign woman has been sentenced to death in Iraq.

"The Central Criminal Court looked into the case of a terror suspect who holds German citizenship and sentenced her to death based on article four of Iraq’s anti-terrorism laws," read a statement by Abdul Sattar al- Bayraktar, front man for Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council on their official website.

The German citizen, who is of Moroccan origin, "confessed during the investigations that she travelled from Germany to Syria and then to Iraq because she had faith in the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
," he stated, adding that she also brought two of her daughters with her and wedded them to other ISIS members.

"The suspect provided logistical support and help to the terror group in their crimes and was convicted in being complicit in attacking Iraqi security and military forces," Bayraktar said.

The front man refused to release the woman’s name.

Although she is the first woman to be convicted of ISIS-related crimes and sentenced to death, she is actually the second foreign national to be sentenced to death in Iraq for affiliation with ISIS.

Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council announced in September of last year that a criminal court in Baghdad sentenced a Russian man to death for being a member of ISIS.

The ISIS member from Russia confessed "to carrying out several terrorist operations against the security services since 2015," Bayraktar said in a statement on September 12.

In accordance to Article four of Iraq’s anti-terrorism law, he was sentenced to death by hanging, Bayraktar added.

Libyan warbirds hammer targets in southern Libya
Tunis, 21 January 2018:

The Libyan National Army (LNA) has carried out airstrikes on Sudanese and Chadian rebels in the south east of Libya, near to Rabiana.

Spokesman Ahmed Mismari said it was part of the new Operation Desert Fury that seeks to curb the influence of militias and criminals operating in the region. Reports say a convoy of 15 vehicles was hit with the LNA saying it caused “heavy losses”. One Benghazi source said Egyptian planes were involved too.

While the target yesterday was fighters that form part of the Sudanese and Chadian opposition, the LNA said they were seeking to end widespread robbery and human trafficking too.

It comes only three days after the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement killed six LNA soldiers and abducted another near to the Jaghboub oasis.

My husband has a secret room where he keeps bombs -- Wife of suspected Boko Haram IEDs manufacturer
[VANGUARDNGR] Okpella in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State has been in the news following the struggle in the area between two powerful investors, Dangote Group and the BUA company, which led to the closure of the Obu mining site by the Federal Government pending the time the issues at stake are resolved in court.

However,
by candlelight every wench is handsome...
tension heightened Tuesday after kaboom rocked an apartment in Iddo community, Okpella, causing the death of one person identified as Sanusi. The kaboom occurred after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was allegedly being manufactured by a gang led by one Idris Hassan from Kogi State.

The incident is creating panic in the area and the entire state as residents are scared that the perpetrators may have planted IEDs in unknown places.

Meanwhile,

residents feared that Boko Haram

terror group may have grown a cell in Edo where it manufactures bombs and ferries them to the North-East.

The immediate past governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, had, in 2012, banned commercial cycle of violence riders, popularly known as Okada, in Edo after he received security reports that Boko Haram terrorists, operating in the North -East, were ferrying their agents, through commercial cycle of violences, to the state, particularly Edo North, to erect a base where they could launch attacks in the South of the country. Sunday Vanguard recalls that Oshiomhole and security chiefs in the state held an emergency meeting after which he banned Okada.

DRC blocks internet ahead of banned protests
[NEWS24] Authorities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
blocked the internet in Kinshasa and set up roadblocks throughout the city ahead of planned protests on Sunday demanding that President Joseph Kabila leave power.

Catholic church leaders have called for a mass peaceful demonstration against Kabila's 17-year rule, three weeks after a similar protest on New Year's Eve that ended in deadly violence.

The authorities have banned all demonstrations, and at around midnight, the internet, email and social media messaging networks were cut in the capital, AFP correspondents said.

Security forces have installed roadblocks on major routes into Kinshasa, while armed officers are conducting ID checks.

The church has also called for rallies in several other cities including Lubumbashi and Goma, but the government has banned all demonstrations since September 2016, when anti-Kabila protests turned violent.

The head of the Moslem community in DRC has backed the church, urging the authorities to allow the march to take place despite no official permission being granted.

"I ask the authorities to avoid repressing the march," Cheikh Ali Mwinyi M'Kuu, legal representative of the Moslem community, told AFP on Saturday.

"If they decide to repress, there will be no peace. But if they let the march take place, they will respect the constitution and peace will prevail."

The previous anti-Kabila march, on December 31, descended into a bloody crackdown after police and security forces gave the demonstrators a whiff of grapeshot.

More texts turned over from FBI agent taken off Mueller team
[CBS] WASHINGTON -- The Justice Department has turned over to Congress additional text messages involving an FBI agent who was removed from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigative team following the discovery of derogatory comments about President Trump.

But the department also said in a letter to lawmakers that its record of messages sent to and from the agent, Peter Strzok, was incomplete because the FBI, for technical reasons, had been unable to preserve and retrieve about five months' worth of communications.
I was under the impression that the phone company keeps all texts, just as email companies keep all emails in their various archives...
Texts are transported via email protocol and would be archived in phone company servers.
New text messages highlighted in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray by Sen. Ron Johnson, the Republican chairman of the Senate's Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, are from the spring and summer of 2016 and involve discussion of the investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server. They reference Attorney General Loretta Lynch's decision to accept the FBI's conclusion in that case and a draft statement that former FBI Director James Comey had prepared in anticipation of closing out the Clinton investigation without criminal charges.

The FBI declined to comment Sunday. CBS News Justice Reporter Paula Reid reported Sunday that the Strzok texts have been delivered and are expected to be made public via Congress.

In addition to the communications already made public, the Justice Department on Friday provided Johnson's committee with 384 pages of text messages, approximately 9,000 texts, exchanged between FBI employees Lisa Page and Strzok.

Erdogan on Sunday vowed to "crush" any local opposition to the country’s cross-border military operation.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
has a significant Kurdish population, especially in the south and southeastern parts of the country. Some HDP members have already voiced their opposition to Ankara's deadly attacks against Afrin that killed at least 9 people since the operation began on Saturday.

"In order to protect the will of co-existence and peace among nations against the invasion attempt of Afrin, we should hold a presser and take to the streets on Sunday and Monday against the aggressive politics adopted by our government and the parties which support them," Nadir Yildirim, a HDP member of the parliament said on Saturday.

"As long as this occupation continues, we will not stop. Like we supported Kobane, we will support Afrin," the MP said, making reference to the Kurdish city of Kobani in Syria that came under siege by ISIS in late 2014 and early 2015. The Kobane siege caused a wave of violent protests in Turkey by the country’s Kurdish community against the Ottoman Turkish state whom they accused of being an accomplice to the bully boy group.

"An attack against Afrin is an attack against all Kurds. An attack against Afrin is an attack against Amed [Diyarbakir], Kirkuk,

and Mahabad," the MP continued, naming different cities in different parts of Greater Kurdistan that includes significant areas in Turkey Syria, Iran and Iraq.

"We should never be silent witnessing this situation. We ask our people to take to the streets to make their voice heard and to show their pro-democracy views," he concluded.

Erdogan said at an event in Bursa, northwestern of Turkey, that they would "crush" local opposition to the operation.

"This is a national struggle. We will crush anyone who opposes our national struggle," Erdogan said at the event.

"We are not alone... Allah is with us," Erdogan said, "God willing, this operation will come to an end in a short time."

Naqeebullah killing: Rao Anwar refuses to appear before probe team
[GEO.TV] Suspended Malir SSP Rao Anwar refused to appear before the inquiry committee, formed to probe extrajudicial murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud, after committee member DIG Sultan Khawaja asked him to appear at the DIG East's office at 11 pm on Sunday.

Mehsud, a 27-year-old native of Wazoo, was among four suspected turbans killed in an ’exchange of fire’ with a police team headed by SSP Anwar on January 13 in Shah Latif Town. However,
ars longa, vita brevis...
his family later stated that Naqeebullah was innocent and bumped off in a fake encounter.

An inquiry team, headed by Counter Terrorism Department Additional IG Sanaullah Abbasi, was formed to probe the incident. The committee ordered the suspension of Anwar and other officials involved in the incident as well as placement of Anwar's name on the Exit Control List.

Speaking to Geo News, Anwar said that he will not appear at the DIG East's office.

He also said that he has not yet made a decision regarding his appearance at the SSP's office at 1pm on Monday.

DIG East Sultan Khawaja, however, reached his office at 11pm. Speaking to media there, he said that no [criminal] record has been found of Naqeebullah from different cop shoppes. "KP police have also not found any criminal record of him."

He said that they are not under any pressure on Anwar's issue and that they are only following the orders of the Supreme Court.

"If complaints are received then case will be registered, and action will be taken in the same way," he told news hounds, when asked about past encounter by Anwar.

The DIG East said that Anwar and his team were summoned today, but they did not appear, adding that the suspended official and his team members' phones are also switched off.

He maintained that the inquiry team wants to conduct transparent investigations [into Naqeebullah's killing] and listen to Anwar.

Earlier in the evening, Khawaja said the probe body will again meet at the office of the DIG East at 11pm to refute Anwar's earlier claims of not being summoned by the committee.

Mogadishu Mayor Fired, His Replacement Appointed
[RADIOSHABELLE] Somali President Mohammed Abdullahi sacked the mayor of the capital Mogadishu and appointed his information minister to replace him on Sunday.

The president, in a decree, named Abdirahman Omar Osman as the new mayor, replacing Thabit Abdi Mohammed. The president’s office did not give a reason for Mohammed’s dismissal.

Local media reported on Saturday that Mohammed and Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire did not get on, but it was unclear whether that was the reason for Mohammed’s removal from the post.

"After deliberation with the prime minister and interior minister, the Somali president appointed Abdirahman Omar Osman as the new mayor," a statement on the Somali government website said.

Mogadishu residents said security forces had entered the mayor’s office on Saturday night and took control of it. They also closed most roads in the city and they were still blocked on Sunday.

Houthis fingered for abduction in Sanaa
[Asharq Al-Awsat] Yemeni activists accused Houthi militias of kidnapping a United Nations agency employee in Sanaa as part of its ongoing suppression of its opponents.

Senior Yemeni journalist Abdulrahman Bjash said that masked gunmen had kidnapped his son Hisham on Thursday after he had left his office at the International Organization for Migration.

He was with his wife at the time and was taken to an unknown location, he said in post on his Facebook account.

Bjash did not hold anyone responsible for the abduction, saying that he “so far does not know where his son is.”

In a separate development, Houthi militants kidnapped in Sanaa Yehya al-Hindwana for refusing to comply with enlistment demands made by the group.

Meanwhile, the United Nations refugee agency announced on Thursday that the ongoing battles in Yemen have forced more than 32,000 people to flee their homes in the past two months.

The UNHCR said in a statement that they now join some two million Yemenis already displaced by the war.

"The arrival of winter in Yemen, when temperatures can dip below zero degrees Celsius across a number of governorates, has worsened the hardship for many, particularly those displaced and living in informal settlements exposed to the elements with little protection against the cold," it said.

UNHCR spokeswoman Shabia Mantoo said flare-ups in fighting in the rebel-held capital Sanaa, as well as the provinces of Hodeidah on the Red Sea and oil-rich Shabwa in the south, had driven the displacements.

"We continue to see correlations between intensified hostilities and civilian casualties + displacement," Mantoo said on Twitter Friday.

Parents of eight raped, murdered girls plead for justice in Pakistan top court
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Following the rape and murder of Zainab, a six-year-old Pak girl, the parents of eight other girls with similar cases appeared for a hearing in front of a special bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistain Mian Saqib Nisar.

The parents pleaded before a three-member bench of the apex court saying, "give us justice".

The Joint Investigation Team on Zainab’s murder case presented a progress report detailing their investigations thus far. The court was dissatisfied with the progress.

"So many incidents have taken place, what was the police doing?" the court questioned, according to the Dawn newspaper.

"The incidents took place repeatedly in the remit of two cop shoppes and no one conducted an inquiry," the chief justice said.

The investigative team said they retrieved DNA from 800 suspects, adding that the DNA found on Zainab matched seven other cases that also happened in Kasur since 2015.

The bench said that if the police had taken the matter seriously three years ago, the eight girls could have been saved, according to the Dawn newspaper.

No real progress has been made in the case since Zainab's body was found, despite the Counter-Terrorism Department, Intelligence Bureau, Special Branch and Punjab

Seven Niger troops killed in Boko Haram attack
[NEWS24] At least seven Niger soldiers were killed and more than a dozen others maimed last week in an attack by suspected Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
murderous Moslems in the country's southeast, the government has said.

"The provisional toll for the cowardly terror attack on Wednesday night in Toummour is seven dead, seventeen maimed and one soldier missing," said a cabinet statement.

Toummour is located in the Diffa administrative region, which lies on the border with Nigeria and Chad. It has suffered a string of deadly Boko Haram attacks since February 2015, although the area has been relatively calm in recent months.

Last week, the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
said there had been a sharp fall in the number of Niger civilians kidnapped, killed or maimed by Boko Haram last year, citing an overall toll of 141 compared with 227 a year earlier.

Syrian regime opens roads for Kurdish forces in Afrin
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Following the Syrian regime condemning Ottoman Turkish military operations and "Operation Olive Branch" in Afrin on Saturday, the Assad regime opened up roads for the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in order to transport weapons and reinforcements, the Anadolu Agency reported.

According to the news agency, the Syrian regime opened the PYD-PKK-held Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, and allowed the two groups to use Nubl and al-Zahra roads connecting the center of Aleppo to Afrin.

An unknown number of PYD/PKK vehicles loaded with ammunition have been moving towards Afrin, the Anadolu Agency added.

US involvement in Afrin
The commander of the US Central Command, General Joseph Votel, said that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
informed the US about its military operation in Afrin, pointing out that Afrin does not fall within the scope of the US military.

However,
corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds...
Votel added that a possible operation in Manbij was not disclosed to them.

"We are not paying particular attention to that area with our military resources," General Joseph L. Votel told news hounds during his flight in the Middle East, according to the Anadolu Agency.

Votel’s statement came following Turkey’s "Operation Olive Branch" in Afrin, aiming to establish security along its borders and eliminate the PYD and PKK groups.

He added that the fight against ISIS still continues in Syria, and that Turkey's operation on Afrin would distract the efforts in this manner, the Anadolu Agency reported.

On Sunday, La Belle France urged Turkey to stop its attacks on the Kurdish YPG in Syria, and called for a Security Council meeting to discuss Ottoman Turkish incursions in Syria.

Arabia
Bahrain: Hezbollah supports terror cells targeting our security
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Bahrain’s interior minister has accused Lebanese Hezbollah militias of supporting terror groups and at least 19 plots against public figures in the Gulf island kingdom in the past year.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah al-Khalifa said on Sunday that as a result, 47 people were charged with links to terrorism, including plots to assassinate public figures.

"The cells are run by individuals in Iran who coordinate with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, the Popular Mobilization Militias in Iraq and the Hezbollah in Leb to train terrorists. This fact has been highlighted in the past and continues to be highlighted," al-Khalifa said at a presser on Sunday.

Bahraini police have also transferred the cases of 290 wanted persons and suspects to the public prosecutor's office.

Most of the 47 people tossed in the calaboose
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
on Sunday were part of the Saraya al-Ashtar, Saraya Al Muqawama Al Sha’biya and Saraya al-Mukhtar militia groups.

In the past year, Bahrain’s security apparatus carried out 105 security missions, including search of 42 sites and warehouses. A total of 290 runaways and suspects were referred to the Public Prosecution and a quantity of weapons, equipment and explosives seized. Bahrain’s Public Prosecutor’s office told Al Arabiya English they will release the details of its investigations at a later date.

"Our security mission does not end with the uncovering of a terror group and the arrest of lawbreakers. Ours is a comprehensive mission which aims to achieve security and stability across the country, and to have a comprehensive security viewpoint to understand the main reasons and motives that have a bearing on the general security situation," al-Khalifa said.

CNN: Government ShutDown - Asteroids Could Hit the Earth
ASTERIOD INCOMING THREAT
TO HAWAII. SEEK SHELTER
THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

[Breitbart] Two CNN correspondents claimed during an episode of The Lead with Jake Tapper that an asteroid could potentially threaten the Earth if the government shutdown continues.

CNN correspondent Tom Foreman recalled the time NASA could not monitor "potentially dangerous asteroids" for over two weeks, implying that NASA would not be able to prevent an asteroid attack if it hit Earth while the government shut down.

"In space, that same year, for more than two weeks, NASA reportedly stopped monitoring potentially dangerous asteroids. A big one, by the way, is expected to brush by Earth on February 4th," Foreman noted.

#8  Not we could do a damn thing about an impact now anaway. Earth has been hit in the past. It will get hit in the future. There are rocks out there with our name on them. Maybe at some point we can move them out of the way. But it requires a pretty long lead time. But don't ask NASA to get involved. Prioroties will shift. Administraions change and new emergencies crop up. Besides, NASA is the poster child for politicians that love to bitch about government waste while voting pork for their districts

Picture emerges of alleged killer of Saudi preacher Tuwaijri in Guinea
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Al Arabiya.net communicated with a journalist in Guinea to know more about Moussa Kante, the man who allegedly shot and killed Saudi Sheikh Abdul Muhsin al-Tuwaijri in the village of Kantebalandougou in Guinea on Tuesday and acquired his photo.

Tuwaijri’s lectures and presence seem to have upset some pagans in the village so four of them decided to lurk for Tuwaijri after he leaves the mosque. Kante came across him as Tuwaijri was heading towards his car to go to Siguiri.
Initial reports about Kante said he was 17 years and that he was tossed in the clink
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
on Wednesday. However after communicating with Mamadou Hawa Keita, a senior editor at the news website Aminata.com in Guinea, Al Arabiya learnt that he was 27 years old and he was arrested on Thursday.

Keita conveyed information which he attained from Seydou Kante, an administrative official from the area where the crime happened. According to Keita, Kante is married and he is a father of two.

Kante spent his childhood and teenage years in the Ivory Coast and he returned to the town six years ago, Keita said, adding that he moved between the capital Conakry and neighboring Sierra Leone.

The suspect does not have any social media accounts and there are no photos of him on the internet. According to Keita, he is a pagan like some of the villagers.

Eyewitnesses saw Kante carrying a hunting rifle and passing through the same road which Tuwaijri passed through after performing evening prayers and delivering a lecture at the mosque in the village.

Tuwaijri’s lectures and presence seem to have upset some pagans in the village so four of them decided to lurk for Tuwaijri after he leaves the mosque. Kante came across him as Tuwaijri was heading towards his car to go to Siguiri. He opened fire towards him and killed him and seriously injured the Moto-Taxi driver.

Police arrested Kante on Thursday night after they were certain he was the murderer.

’s 90,000 mosques on Jan. 20 and Jan. 21 for the victory of the country’s military, which launched a cross border operation in Syria’s northwestern Afrin region on Jan. 20 against the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).

"Sessions will be held after the isha prayer tonight [Jan. 20] and the morning prayer [on Jan. 21] due to Operation Olive Branch," said Religious Affairs Directorate (Diyanet) head Ali Erbas in a message sent on Jan. 20 to all offices of muftis and religious officials across the country.

"The Surah Conquest [Surah al-Fath] will be cited during the special sessions to pray for the victory of our heroic security forces, who have launched an operation against terrorist groups that threaten our nation and our peace," Erbas added.

Responding to the call by Turkey’s top holy man, thousands across the country gathered in mosques to pray for servicemen taking part in the operation.
