Russian jet flies within 5 feet of US Navy plane, Pentagon says
Washington (CNN)A Russian military jet performed an unsafe intercept of a US Navy P-3 Orion surveillance plane while it was flying in international airspace over the Black Sea Monday, three defense officials told CNN.

The American pilots reported that the Russian jet came within five feet of the US plane, according to two of the officials.

The Russian jet's action forced the US Navy aircraft to end its mission prematurely, one of the officials said.

Several unsafe interactions between Russian and US military forces have taken place near the Black Sea.

Russian, US and NATO forces operate in close proximity to one another in the area, particularly since Russia boosted its military presence in the region following its annexation of Crimea in 2014.

McCabe Resigns
After his boss seeing the Memo!
Fox News says:
FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is taking “terminal leave” from his post until March, when he would be eligible for retirement benefits.
Fox News Live Story Link
Okay - Forceable removal:
[FoxNews] Top FBI official Andrew McCabe has been "removed" from his post as deputy director, Fox News is told, leaving the bureau after months of conflict-of-interest complaints from Republicans including President Trump.

A source confirmed to Fox News that McCabe is taking “terminal leave” – effectively taking vacation until he reaches his planned retirement in a matter of weeks. As such, he will not be reporting to work at the FBI anymore.

The move was first reported by NBC News.

McCabe has long been a controversial figure at the bureau.

Republicans have questioned McCabe’s ties to the Democratic Party, considering his wife ran as a Democrat for a Virginia Senate seat in 2015 and got financial help from a group tied to Clinton family ally Terry McAuliffe.

Trump himself tweeted in December: “How can FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, the man in charge, along with leakin’ James Comey, of the Phony Hillary Clinton investigation (including her 33,000 illegally deleted emails) be given $700,000 for wife’s campaign by Clinton Puppets during investigation?”

The Washington Post last week reported that Trump, during an Oval Office meeting last spring, pressed McCabe, who was then acting FBI director, about whom he voted for in the 2016 election. McCabe, according to the outlet, told the president he didn’t vote.

McCabe's name has surfaced in connection with several other controversies.

The Daily Beast reported that a GOP memo alleging government surveillance abuse named McCabe, along with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and ex-FBI boss James Comey.

Incidentally, the McCabe removal comes after FBI Director Christopher Wray viewed the memo Sunday on Capitol Hill, as reported by Fox News’ Catherine Herridge.

Several Republicans also want to know what McCabe knew about anti-Trump text messages between two bureau officials, including one that seemed to reference an “insurance policy” against Trump winning the 2016 election.

“I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office - that there’s no way he gets elected - but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk,” Peter Strzok texted on Aug. 15, 2016. “It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40.”

Some lawmakers think "Andy" was a reference to McCabe.

Today's Idiots: Students hate Trump's SOTU…before it even happens! (Video)
This Tuesday, President Donald Trump will give his first State Of The Union address to the nation.

Critics of Trump have already begun to express displeasure with his actions in the days leading up to the speech, leading some to wonder whether this opposition is substantive, or rooted in a distaste of Trump as a person.

Wanting to find out, Campus Reform headed to New York University to ask students their opinions of President Trump’s State of the Union. The only problem for them was that the speech would not take place for another seven days...

Would that stop them from giving strong, condemnatory opinions on the speech?

But, but, they had Hillary, and "Fire and Fury" readings, and "Woke" shit and all!!??11
Golly. I missed readings? Just what I would go to a music award show to hear.
[HollywoodReporter] The CBS telecast is down a steep 21 percent from 2017 in early numbers, potentially spelling an all-time low.

Sunday's Bruno Mars-loving Grammy Awards took a steep ratings spill by the first-available metrics.

The show, which ran a bloated three-and-a-half hours, was off an unfortunate 21 percent from 2017 in early numbers. Overnight returns from Nielsen Media give it a 12.7 rating among households ‐ marking its biggest drop since the 2013, the year after the show swelled following the death of Whitney Houston.

Such a steep drop, however, could very well mean an all-time low for the calendar's biggest music awards show once updated numbers arrive.

Chinese aircraft trespasses South Korea, Japan airspace
[UPI] Jan. 29 (UPI) -- South Korea scrambled fighter jets after a Chinese military aircraft trespassed into the Korean Air Defense Identification Zone, or KADIZ, according to Seoul.

South Korea's joint chiefs of staff said one Chinese aircraft entered territorial airspace, local newspaper Asia Business reported Monday.

"Today at 9:30 a.m. we detected a military aircraft of Chinese origin entering the KADIZ from the southwest side, near Ieodo Island," the joint chiefs stated, according to Yonhap.

"We immediately deployed our air force fighters."

Ieodo Island, or Socotra Rock, is a submerged rock in the Yellow Sea that is also claimed by China.

The joint chiefs added the Chinese plane left KADIZ at 9:55 a.m., then cruised through Japan's Air Defense Identification Zone, or JADIZ.

The Chinese aircraft left both airspaces by 2:05 p.m., Seoul said.

New Yorkers Can't Afford De Blasio's Anti-Trump Antics
[Manhattan Institute] Mayor de Blasio snubbed President Trump last week, refusing to attend a mayors’ meet-up on infrastructure after the Trump White House demanded more information on sanctuary cities. De Blasio said he slighted the president because "the only thing he understands is force and resoluteness." But if you’re going to fight power with power, you’ve got to have . . . power.

De Blasio has little.

De Blasio was one of several big-city mayors to skip the White House meeting. But of those, he has the most to lose by angering Trump.

New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, who led the resisters, is leaving office in May. Politically, Landrieu can afford to risk making things a little bit difficult for his successor.

Kansas intern confidentiality rule: What happens in a lawmaker's office stays there
It's good to be the king.
Interns in the Kansas Statehouse are required to sign a sweeping confidentiality agreement that employment law attorneys warn could have a chilling effect on their willingness to report harassment or illegal activity.

Anything that takes place or is said in a lawmaker’s office stays there, the document says, under threat of immediate termination.

Seine peaks as waterlogged Paris eyes clean-up
[AFP] The swollen Seine peaked Monday at more than four metres above its normal level, leaving a lengthy mop-up job for Parisians after days of rising waters that have put the soggy city on alert.

The river rose to 5.85 metres (19.2 feet) early Monday, causing continued headaches for commuters as well as people living near its overflowing banks.

The Vigicrues flooding agency said the river would stay at its current level throughout the day before beginning to recede Tuesday.

"It's been a gradual rise, so you can't really call it a 'peak' -- we prefer to say it has plateaued," said Rachel Puechberty, a spokeswoman for the agency.

Light rain is forecast for Monday but it is not expected to push the Seine higher, though water levels are likely to stay high for at least a week, Puechberty said.

Around 1,500 people have been evacuated from their homes in the greater Paris region, according to police, while 1,900 households have lost electricity.

Europe
Pope denounces Holocaust indifference amid Polish uproar
VATICAN CITY (AP) ‐ Pope Francis said Monday that countries have a responsibility to fight anti-Semitism and the "virus of indifference" that threatens to erase the memory of the Holocaust.

Francis’ comments to an international conference on anti-Semitism came as the largely Roman Catholic Poland considers legislation that would outlaw blaming Poles for the crimes of the Holocaust. The proposed legislation has sparked an outcry in Israel.

Francis didn’t mention the dispute but he did speak of his 2016 visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp in German-occupied Poland, saying he remembered "the roar of the deafening silence" that left room for only tears, prayer and requests for forgiveness.

He called for Christians and Jews to build a "common memory" of the Holocaust, saying "it is our responsibility to hand it on in a dignified way to young generations."

"The enemy against which we fight is not only hatred in all of its forms, but even more fundamentally indifference, for it is indifference that paralyzes and impedes us from doing what is right even when we know that it is right," he said.

The anti-Semitism conference, hosted by the Italian foreign ministry in cooperation with the OSCE and Italy’s Jewish communities, was timed to correspond to International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

On the eve of the commemoration, Poland’s lower house parliament approved a bill calling for prison time for referring to "Polish death camps" and criminalizes the mention of Polish complicity in the Holocaust.

[Townhall] Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the possibility the Trump campaign colluded with Russian officials appears to have morphed into an investigation into alleged "obstruction of justice."

On Tuesday, the Washington Post reported Mueller has requested to question President Trump directly about his decision to fire former FBI Director James Comey, as well as the departure of Trump’s former national security advisor, Michael Flynn. It is believed Mueller is looking for evidence that shows Trump’s motive for firing Comey was to end the FBI’s investigation into Flynn and Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Although liberal pundits and many congressional Democrats have long argued Trump’s decision to fire Comey was, in effect, a move to cover up other potential crimes, there is an ongoing debate among legal scholars over whether a president, the nation’s chief executive, can be charged with obstructing justice after firing a law enforcement official in the executive branch.

If such a scenario is possible, Democrats might want to tread cautiously, because recently revealed information about the FBI’s handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation suggests President Barack Obama’s administration may have also "obstructed justice" ‐ or, at the very least, had a very strong incentive to do so.

As Andrew McCarthy noted on Tuesday in National Review, a letter issued over the weekend by Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) discusses a draft of Comey’s statement about the Clinton email investigation that is dated June 30, 2016. This draft differs, at least in one way, substantially from the infamous statement Comey made on July 5, during which he recommended no charges be brought against Clinton for her use of an illegal private email server. In the draft, Comey mentions that President Obama had communicated with Clinton while she served as secretary of state and "was on the territory of ... an adversary":

A Year of Russian Collusion - Daniel Greenfield
[Sultan Knish] Looking back at Obama’s first year and Trump’s first year, it’s easy to assess who was giving Moscow more. It wasn’t just missile defense. In the spring of ’09, Hillary was in Moscow toting a misspelled Reset Button swiped from a swimming pool. But it was Obama who had first urged a “reset or reboot”. That was the month he sent a secret hand-delivered letter to Russia offering to kill the missile shield. The Russians turned down his proposed deal, but he went through with the appeasement anyway.
Devastating.

Coast Guard rape conviction overturned after court's scathing attack on women-packed jury
h/t Instapundit
[WashingtonTimes] The nation’s highest military court has thrown out the 2012 rape conviction of a Coast Guard enlisted man because admirals and prosecutors packed the seven-member jury with five women, four of whom held jobs as advocates for victims of sexual assault.

In a 5-0 ruling that could change how the military conducts sex abuse trials, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces unleashed caustic criticism of all involved.

From the Coast Guard commandant down to an appellate court to the original trial judge, the high court said all contributed to a "stain on the military justice system." The military has been under intense pressure to wipe out sexual harassment and assault, the five civilian judges noted.
What better way to sabotage a military than sabotaging its morale?

Iraq to build oil refinery in Fao with Chinese companies, plans two others
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq plans to build an oil refinery at the port of Fao on the Gulf with two Chinese companies, and is seeking investors to build three more, the oil ministry said on its website on Monday.

The refinery in Fao will have a 300,000 barrel-per-day capacity and include a petrochemical plant, it said.

Two other refineries, each with a 150,000-bpd capacity, are planned in Nasiriya, southern Iraq, and in the western Anbar province. A third, with a 100,000-bpd capacity, is planned in Qayara, near Mosul, the northern Iraqi city, which was taken back from Islamic State militants last year.

Iraq is OPEC’s second-largest oil producer, after Saudi Arabia. Its refining capacity was curtailed when Islamic State overran its largest oil processing plant in Baiji, north of Baghdad, in 2014.

Iraqi forces recaptured Baiji in 2015, but the place sustained heavy damage in the fighting. The country now relies on the Doura refinery, in Baghdad, and Shuaiba plant, in the south.

Abbas calls for African role in Israeli-Palestinian peace process
[Jpost] Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday called for the African Union and its member states to play a role in a multilateral mechanism for the peace process between the Palestinians and Israel.

He made the comments at a meeting of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, which multiple African heads of state attended.

"Pursuing peace efforts requires the establishment of a multilateral mechanism under the umbrella of the United Nations, and we call for the African Union and its member states to have representatives in this mechanism," Abbas said.

Report 2017: Ukraine had more antisemitic cases than all former USSR countries combined
[Jpost] In its main annual report on antisemitism, Israel’s government singled out Ukraine as unusual in Eastern Europe for the alleged increase in attacks there, triggering protest by Kiev.

The allegation appeared in the antisemitism report for 2017 that the Ministry for Diaspora Affairs under Education Minister Naftali Bennett published last week, ahead of the January 27 International Day of Holocaust Remembrance.

"A striking exception in the trend of decrease in antisemitic incidents in Eastern Europe was Ukraine, where the number of recorded antisemitic attacks was doubled from last year and surpassed the tally for all the incidents reported throughout the entire region combined," the report said.
Not a surprise to anybody who visited some of the Ukrainian "independence fighters" sites.

Europe
How I became public enemy No. 1 in Poland
[Jpost] I am, apparently, an enemy of the Polish people.

I am a prime example of that treacherous lying Jewish media with its tentacles wrapped around the earth, or something not-at-all-antisemitic like that. I am the reason Jews are killed and thrown out of every country they try to live in around the world. I am to blame for the Holocaust, and it’s too bad I was born. I am also a c*** and a bitch who’s asking to be raped, and who deserves to be sent photos of strangers’ genitals. And I’m stupid. Oh so stupid. A real idiot who’s never read a book.

Or so thousands of Polish people told me on social media since Saturday night.

Even Poland’s Deputy Minister of Justice Patryk Jaki piled on, labeling me "Israeli media" ‐ at least that one is true ‐ and telling his followers to come after me.

All because of one tweet. One tweet in which I wrote the phrase "Polish death camps" 14 times.
Now, I know that Poles, and Ukrainians, and Baltics are practically heroes to Americans for their "brave resistance" to Russia. However, to paraphrase your Al Smith: "lets not forget the record" - especially as it reinforced by current behavior.

#2  "It outlaws any mention of Polish complicity in the Nazi atrocities"

And that's the problem, not only in Poland, but also in France and other countries occupied by the Nazis. The Holocaust would have been impossible (or at least would have claimed a lot less lives) without complicity. You can't blame someone for not being a hero. But nobody in an occupied country was ever forced to denounce a Jew, to be a guardian in a camp, to benefit from persecution.

Which, of course, is also true for Germany. In 1933 Germany was probably less antisemitic than Poland. Even in 1938 most Germans were probably not rabid Antisemites (just miserable Antisemites). But it was oh so convenient to be one. Your neighbor is Jewish? Why not denounce him and get his apartment at a bargain price? And so on.

This is what Germany and all the other nations never wanted to acknowledge. It's a lot easier to blame Hitler, the SS and the upper echelons of Nazis.

But after 1945 few people wanted to question their own responsibility.

A few days ago, Esther Béjarano, a 93yo survivor of Auschwitz (she played the accordion in the Girls' Orchestra of Auschwitz) had a few powerful words to say to the young people in the audience.

"You are not guilty, not responsible for the Nazi crimes. But if you ignore them, if you don't teach others, you become responsible."

While Transitioning, Please Mind the Gap!
[1001 Iraqi Thoughts] Having decisively defeated the conventional forces of the Islamic State, it is important for the anti-Daesh coalition to match the Islamic State’s transition with one of its own. Unlike the recent campaign, where the coalition’s force defeated the caliphate in a largely conventional style – including heavy urban combat, the next phase of conflict will be dominated by an irregular style of warfare. The question is, will the Iraqi security forces be ready?

House Intel Committee Voting Monday 5:00pm to Release Memo…
Moved to Page 4

[Last Refuge] Well, this is good news. Chairman Devin Nunes, and House Speaker Paul Ryan have had ample time to discuss the larger ramifications to "The Big Ugly".

Late last week Ryan and Nunes traveled together to Saudi Arabia to review the new Saudi Counter-Extremism Intelligence Center *cough* that President Trump, Saudi King Salman, MBS and Egyptian President Fattah al-Sisi *cough* opened last year. Obviously Devin Nunes, Paul Ryan and their collective senior staffs would have a lot of time during travel to discuss the intelligence committee memo release.

According to Byron York when the House comes back into session tomorrow, the Intelligence Committee has a meeting scheduled for 5:00pm. Likely that’s when the vote will happen to ’release the memo’.

Rosenstein approved surveillance extension of former Trump adviser
(Reuters) - U.S. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein approved to extend surveillance of former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page shortly after assuming office last spring, the New York Times reported, citing people familiar with a secret Republican memo.

The extension shows the Department of Justice, under President Donald Trump, saw reason to believe that Page was acting as a Russian agent, the paper reported on Sunday.

The memo paints the investigation into Russia’s alleged meddling in the U.S. presidential election as tainted from the start, the paper said.

The Times report did not reveal the evidence Rosenstein relied on to authorize extension of the surveillance.

Rosenstein, also a Republican, took office in April after being nominated by Trump.

The Republican Party and the Democratic Party were not immediately available to comment late on Sunday. Reuters could not contact Carter Page for comment.

Warren Buffett Calls for Dow 1,000,000!
[Banyan Hill] A massive stock market rally continues to surge higher, with the Dow hitting 41 record highs in the last nine months alone.

Many distinguished investors and economists see this epic rise as only the beginning. Ron Baron, CEO of Baron Capital, is calling for Dow 30,000. Jeffrey A. Hirsch, author of Stock Trader’s Almanac, has called for Dow 38,000.

And billionaire icon Warren Buffett threw even more fuel on the bullish fire, calling for "Dow 1,000,000." But as shocking as that may sound, it’s Paul Mampilly’s near-term target of "Dow 50,000" that is garnering national attention.

It’s not because it’s a bold prediction, but rather because every one of Mampilly’s past predictions have been dead-on. Like when he predicted the tech crash of 1999 and the time he called the financial collapse of 2008 ‐ months before they unraveled.

Mampilly’s predictions paid off big as the $6 billion hedge fund he managed was named by Barron’s as one of the "World’s Best."

And Mampilly became legendary when he won the prestigious Templeton Foundation investment competition by making a 76% return ($38 million in profit on a $50 million stake) ... during the 2008 and 2009 economic crisis.

In a new video presentation, Mampilly states: "Stocks are on the cusp of an historic surge. The Dow will rally to 50,000. I’ve never been more certain of anything in my career."

#1  If so, investing conservatively will be profitable enough, and I’ll sleep better at night.

But this will be fabulous for the retired cohort living off their investments. My mother has had no interest to speak of over the past eight years, and dividends have fallen as well, so she’s had to dig into her principal. This makes her unhappy. Granted, at 91 this is less of a concern than it might otherwise be, but her uncle lived to 107. It will be even more important for the Millennials, who’ve fallen so far behind older cohorts at the same stage, both in terms of wages and investment growth.

#2  For what it's worth observations:

No dividend... no buy. Stock pays moderate dividend (1.5% to 4.0%) for over 15-20 years without interruption? Good to go. High dividend payers can be very risky. Sector diversification is key. Don't become wedded to any individual stock or sector. Re-investing dividends allows dual track growth. Market futures investing? - no way Jose.

One man's definition of success is achieving a return 2-3% above bank passbook rates. Bottom line, monitor your portfolio, do not invest money you cannot afford to lose, and keep cash on hand (in bank) as well.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
East Jerusalem and the Muslims
[American Thinker] I never fully understood the plight of the Jews in Israel until I heard Ed Koch, the late mayor of New York City, spell it out years ago on a talk radio show. Koch simply said, "Israel is surrounded by millions of people who want to kill them."

Jerusalem is once again at the center of political and international debate after President Donald Trump recently recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and plans to move America's embassy in Israel to Jerusalem by 2019.

Did anyone take notice of the recent meeting between Jordan's King Abdullah and Vice President Mike Pence? Reuters reported that Abdullah told Pence that "he looked to Washington to rebuild "trust and confidence" in moving toward a two-state solution in Israel..." Abdullah further stated that East Jerusalem should be the capital of a future Palestinian state.

Are you kidding me?

History shows Jordan has zero credibility to be speaking about Jerusalem and to be lecturing about "trust and confidence."

Jordan captured East Jerusalem (including the holy sites of the Old City) in 1948 and then annexed it in 1949. Jordan maintained control of East Jerusalem until the Six-Day War in 1967. After this war, Israel reclaimed East Jerusalem and unified Jerusalem as it exists today.

We must never forget what happened when East Jerusalem was under Jordanian control for 19 years. Jordan wanted to "Islamize" East Jerusalem. In 1952, Jordan proclaimed that Islam was to be the official religion, and according to Israeli professor Yehuda Zvi Blum, this also applied in Jordanian-held Jerusalem.

Forget Tesla, Volkswagen Is the Automaker Stock I Love (video)
[The Street] It's time to look at auto stocks now that the Detroit Auto Show is over.

The Detroit auto show's Car of the Year winners for 2018 are the Honda Accord, the Volvo XC90 and Ford's (F) Lincoln Navigator, but I just can't get excited about any such old-fashioned nameplates. That's the problem facing car companies (and their stockholders) right now. The current products seem like just placeholders until autonomous vehicles hit the market, and auto stocks' chronically low price-to-earnings ratios reflect the lack of enthusiasm toward today's models.

In an interview in conjunction with NAIAS, CEO Mary Barra of General Motors (GM) forecast flat earnings for 2018 vs. previous guidance calling for $6.50 a share in 2017 profits. With zero earnings growth, maybe GM's 6.75x forward P/E ratio isn't really that low.

If you're going to buy GM now, you basically have to ignore the company's current production -- and ignore the fact that the Chevy Bolt is failing in the marketplace, with only 23,297 units delivered in 2017. Instead, you have to hope for the company's future deliverance -- if it comes -- via upcoming autonomous vehicles with electrified powertrains. Of course, that's a lot of "ifs," and I can see why investors might choose the rapid earnings growth of Amazon (AMZN) or the growth in installed base of Netflix (NFLX) instead.

It was by far the best solution to that problem. I have a pesky wild grape vine along that same fence that I "treat" with the flame thrower every few years, rather than dig the root bundle out. I wear my welding leathers when I use it, it gives off a LOT of radiant energy.

Mall of America Stabbing Suspect Admits Guilt, Pledges Allegiance to ISIS
[ABC via Townhall] ABC5 Eyewitness News reports that a 20-year old man has pleaded guilty to stabbing two men in the name of Islamic extremism at the Mall of America last November.

Mahad Abdiaziz Adbiraham
...a proud Somali-American who at 20 has already lost Darwin’s bet, and also failed at terrorizing the kaffir...
stabbed two brothers on November 12 , 2017 at the mall’s Macy’s. On Thursday, his attorney read a statement declaring his allegiance to the Islamic State and pleading guilty for the crime. In the statement, Abdiraham said he carried out his attack to answer the"call for jihad by the Chief of Believer, Abu-bakr Al-baghdadi, may Allah protect him, and by the Mujahiden of the Islamic State."

"I understand that the two men I stabbed know and have explained the reason for my attack, and I am here reaffirming that it was indeed an act of Jihad in the way of Allah," he continued. Abdiraham also claimed that Americans will not be safe as long as "your country is at war with Islam."

#4  Taqiyya Twin Cities Live

There are four TV "news" stations in the Twin Cities. WCCO, KSTP, Fox 9 and KARE 11. Of the four only KSTP reported the Muslim terrorist's admission to "Jihad in the way of Allah" and his pledge to Islamic State leader Abu-bakr Al-baghdadi.

KSTP to their credit did report (at least on their website) the telling Adbiraham's words "Americans (Minnesotans) will not be safe as long as "your country is at war with Islam."

Omar Jamal, a local Somalina Lib media darling was interviewed with the chilling quote, "This is a widespread sentiment with Somali youth". But KSTP also ran a joke story Man Charged in Connection to MOA Stabbing Declared Mentally Ill Last June and has consistently ran to the Muslim Brotherhood-Hamas front group CAIR.

WCCO had the guilty plea on it's website but no on air reporting and completely omitted. Adbiraham's terrorist Jihad comments.

KARE 11 had nothing on the guilty plea. Fox 9 which also runs to CAIR for quotes also refused to to report on the plea and terrorism quotes.

All for of the stations are on regular pattern of lying by omission. If it does not fit their narrative they refuse the story. So what is the big deal, all Lib MSM news channels do the same?

Minnesota, Minneapolis and Saint Cloud (remember their Muslim Mall Stabbing) has been overrun by Islamics. While the Twin City fake news in full flux it is no wonder 85% of out state Minnesotans voted early for Trump.

Of course that is just one more fact that was omitted. To please Allah with outright fraud of course... This posting was not DFL approved.

#7  When is the word "perpetrator" used instead of "suspect"?

The Associated Press Handbook did not have an answer that I could find. From Yahoo answers:

A perpetrators is the person who committed a crime (We may or may not know his/her identity). A suspect is someone we suspect may have committed a crime whom we are investigating.
In other words let's say we are investigating Joe. We suspect he is the perpetrator therefore he is a suspect.

Army foils attempt by 2 Palestinians in IDF uniforms to infiltrate settlement
[IsraelTimes] A pair of Paleostinians dressed in IDF uniforms tried to infiltrate a Jewish settlement in the northern West Bank on Sunday, the army said.
A new technique. How exciting.
One of the suspects, who was detained by IDF troops near Itamar, had a pair of binoculars, but no weapons.

Troops were interrogating the suspect who was caught in order to determine whether the pair had been attempting to carry out a terror attack or had criminal motive, Hadashot TV news reported.
The idea that dhimmis are for the Muslims as sheep for the shearing long predates the establishment of the Jewish state.
Soldiers were scouring the area between the settlement and the Paleostinian village of Beit Furik for the second suspect, the army said.

France to ‘intervene’ if Jihadist nationals sentenced to death in Mideast
[IsraelTimes] La Belle France says it "will intervene" in cases of its nationals sentenced to death in Iraq and Syria for belonging to jihadist organizations.

"Of course, if there was a question of the death penalty
, the French state will intervene," Justice Minister Nicole Belloubet tells a host of French media outlets.

Pressed on what this meant, Belloubet says La Belle France would "negotiate with the state in question... on a case by case basis."

Did Justice Department FISA Fraud Create U.S. District Court Judge Recusal?…
[ConservativeTreehouse] On the night of Thursday December 7th, 2017 it was announced that U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras was recused from the case against General Mike Flynn. This recusal came five days after Judge Contreras accepted the initial pleading from Flynn. Almost two months have passed, and there’s no explanation why?

(Reuters) The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia judge presiding over the criminal case for President Donald Trump’s former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn has been recused from handling the case, a court spokeswoman said on Thursday. (read more)

If sufficient judicial conflict existed on December 7th, why wasn’t that conflict present on December 1st, when Judge Contreras presided over Flynn’s initial pleading?

The story behind why U.S. District Court Judge would be recused, is transparently missing from any follow-up by media. With all the current sunlight over possible manipulation of a FISA court application by the FBI, no-one seems curious if Judge Rudolph Contreras was the FBI’s FISA approval judge, and the U.S. DC Judge in the Flynn pleading.

The story has disappeared into the swamp; but the story is important.

There is a very strong possibility that U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras was forcibly recused by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, because Contreras is also the FISA Court Judge who signed-off on the 2016 FISA application (warrant) that led to the wiretapping and surveillance of General Flynn. That FISA application is now being questioned.

The initial media report stated Judge Contreras "was recused" implying the decision was ultimately put upon him. However, I repeat, if there was a conflict on December 7th, 2017 wouldn’t that same conflict have existed on December 1st (Flynn pleading).?

If the conflict did exist on December 1st, 2017, why did Contreras even allow himself to preside over the first hearing of General Mike Flynn’s rather odd guilty plea?
Continues.

Afghanistan
Kabul attack death toll rises to 103, 235 others wounded
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Afghan minister of interior Wais Ahmad Barmak says the corpse count from yesterday’s suicide kaboom has climbed to at least 103 people.
And what's a more Islamic place to put a bomb than in an ambulance?
Barmak disclosed the latest corpse count as he was speaking during a presser in Kabul today.

He said at least 235 others have also sustained injures and the the Afghan police forces have sustained heavy casualties in the attack.

The minister of interior did not disclose exact information regarding the number of the police personnel who have bit the dust in the attack.

According to Barmak, the murderous Moslems had disguised themselves inside two ambulance vehicles and managed to pass through one of the check posts close to the old building of the ministry of interior.

He also added that the murderous Moslems had taken the vehicles in the compound of the Jamhoriat hospital and after almost 20 minutes detonated the vehicle packed with explosives.

Barmak also ruled out that the security personnel had committed any negligence but did not elaborate further saying more details would hinder the ongoing investigations.

The Talibs group grabbed credit behind the attack which was the second deadliest taking place in the city over a span of a week.

Egypt's Salafist Nour Party backs Sisi in upcoming presidential elections
“Please don’t hurt us!”
[AlAhram] The Salafist party backed El-Sisi when he was first running for president in May 2014, and in 2013 had backed President Mohammed Morsi's ouster.

Sunday's statement comes one day after Egypt's liberal Wafd Party voted not to nominate party chairman El-Sayed El-Badawi as a candidate in the March elections, affirming their support for El-Sisi.

The Egyptian Coalition, which includes around 30 parties, mostly pro-Sisi, also announced their support for the president’s election bid on Saturday.

The deadline for submitting candidacy requests to the elections commission is Monday.

If no one runs against El-Sisi, who submitted his candidacy papers last week, Article 26 of the law regulating the presidential elections says that the sole candidate can be elected if he secures a 'yes' vote from 5 percent of eligible voters.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
'Halal' internet means more control in Iran after unrest
[FOX Business] DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Guns drawn, Iranian intelligence agents rushed into the apartment of a Washington Post reporter and his journalist wife in Tehran.

Threatening to kill Jason Rezaian in front of his wife, Yeganeh, the 20 agents in the July 2014 raid tore through their belongings and rifled through drawers, clothes and valuables for an hour.

But perhaps their most eagerly sought target wasn't exactly inside the house: They forced the couple to hand over the passwords to their email and social media profiles.

That raid demonstrated how much of a threat Iran's theocratic government sees in the internet. It has long sought to strictly control cyberspace and social media — and, thereby, the flow of information to the public.

But the Islamic Republic's relationship with the world wide web is far more complicated than simple repression. Over the past four years, authorities have encouraged wider use of the internet among Iranians, hoping to generate the benefits of a more modern economy. As a result, nearly half the population has in its pockets a tool that the state is struggling to constrain: smartphones, with cameras and internet links that let anyone broadcast to the world.

Two women die, three babies among dozens rescued as migrant boat sinks
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Two women died and many others are presumed drowned after a migrant boat carrying dozens of people sank in the Mediterranean, rescue services in Italia said.

Among the 83 people rescued were three babies who were revived by medical teams.

"A tragic day in the Mediterranean. The Aquarius was mobilised for a rescue of a deflated boat," the rescue charity SOS Mediterranean said on Twitter.

"People were already in the water, 83 people saved and safely on board. Two women could not be revived, leaving two children orphaned."

Doctors Without Borders (MSF), who also helped in the rescue operation, said "many people are missing and presumed drowned, including children."

Italian coastiess on Saturday said a total of 800 people were rescued in five separate operations.

According to the Italian home office, around 2,730 migrants colonists from Libya have landed on the Italian coast since the start of the year.

The numbers have dropped significantly since Italia forged a controversial Brussels-backed deal last summer with forces in Libya to block migrants colonists from setting out for Europe.

Stouda wrote on her Facebook page that when she checked with the prosecutor’s office to follow up on the woman’s case on Sunday, she was informed that the she had been released.

"I hope that she will not be harassed or abused by the judicial authorities because of a simple act that is considered her basic and natural right," she said.

The woman, 31-year-old, Wida Mowahed a mother of a 19 month old daughter, stood in the middle of Tehran’s "Inqlab" (revolution) street raising her scarf on a stick and waving it like a flag.

A video of the protest was widely shared a three days before the outbreak of the popular protests in Tehran on December 27.

After police arrested Mowahed activists initiated a hashtag through social media #Where_is_She.

Baghdad Bomb & Bullet Bulletin: 2 bombs, 7 casualties, and a deadly tribal dispute undeterred

Explosion leaves three civilians wounded in Baghdad

Baghdad (Iraqinews.com) – Three civilians were wounded Sunday as an explosive device went off near popular markets in Baghdad, a security source was quoted as saying.

“A bomb planted near overcrowded markets in Arab Jibor neighborhood, south of Baghdad, went off, leaving three civilians wounded,” the source told Alghad Press.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the three civilians were carried to a nearby hospital for receiving treatment.

“A security force rushed to the blast site immediately after the bombing and cordoned it off,” the source added.

4 people killed, wounded in bomb blast near Baghdad market

Baghdad (Iraqinews.com) – Four people were killed and injured Sunday in a bomb blast west of Baghdad, a security source was quoted as saying.

Speaking to Baghdad Today, the source said, “A bomb exploded Sunday near a vegetable market at al-Radwaneyya neighborhood in western Baghdad.”

“The explosion left a citizen dead and three others injured,” the source said.

Ambulances rushed to the blast site and carried the body to the forensic medicine department, and the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment, the source added.

Tribal dispute leaves nine people killed, injured in Baghdad

Baghdad (Iraqinews.com) – Nine people were killed and injured in a tribal dispute in southeastern Baghdad on Sunday, a security source was quoted as saying.

Speaking to Baghdad Today, the source said, “Two people were killed and seven others injured in a fighting between two tribes in al-Nahrawan region, south west of Baghdad.”

“The bodies were moved to the forensic medicine department, while the injured were carried to a nearby hospital for treatment,” the source said.

He added that a security force rushed to “the clash site and cordoned it off.”

Iraq’s government and non-governmental organizations have launched many initiatives over the past period to persuade rival tribesmen to sign petitions to stop their fighting, which claims the lives of several people daily.

The country’s chieftains were also urged to intervene to put an end to tribal disputes through forcing tribesmen to hand over their weapons to the Iraqi army.

Tribal struggles are weakening efforts to reconstruct the country following the defeat of Islamic State, which came after a government campaign, backed by a U.S.-led international coalition and paramilitary troops, was launched in 2016 to retake all regions held by the terrorist group, managing to retake all havens, most notably the city of Mosul.

PERRIS, Calif. (WPEC) ‐ A woman sued Walmart after the company locked up African-American beauty products.

According to CBS Los Angeles, Essie Grundy told reporters at a news conference in Perris, California that she has filed a racial discrimination lawsuit against the company.

Grundy claims she had to ask for assistance to buy a $0.49 hair comb that was located behind a locked glass case.

"I originally got the product from the Walmart in Riverside...and it was such a good product, I wanted to introduce it to my older children," Grundy said. "They didn’t have any more at the original Walmart that I got it from, so I went to my neighborhood one, and that’s when I noticed all of the African-American products was locked up under lock and key."

CBS LA reports that Grundy said she was "shocked" by the policy, and even asked the store manager to change the policy.

Walmart has received similar complaints by groups such as Making a Change At Walmart, CBS LA reports.

Videos on other retail stores have gone viral on social media.

Pico-Rivera councilman, teacher recorded making anti-military rant in classroom
[ABC7] A government teacher and city council member of Pico-Rivera
...located in southeastern Los Angeles County, California...
I can never remember which is larger, Pico Rivera or Nano Rivera.
That hurts so much I cannot read the rest of the article, Mr. Pruitt.
10-9 nano n, 10-12 pico p
is under fire for a classroom rant in which he criticized the intelligence of those who serve in the military.

In the 5-minute speech recorded by a student, Gregory Salcido is heard using expletives about those who serve in the military and their intelligence.

"Your freakin' stupid Uncle Louie or whatever. They're dumb- - -ts. They're not high-level bankers. They're not academic people. They're not intellectual people."

"They're the freaking lowest of our low."

Salcido teaches U.S. government at El Rancho High School and is a current member of the Pico-Rivera City Council as well as a former mayor.

He was elected to the Pico Rivera City Council in 1999 and served terms as mayor in 2002, 2010 and 2015, according to his online biography.

The rant was triggered by a student wearing a Marine Corps shirt.

The student who recorded Salcido's rant a week ago was also wearing Marine clothing. He said he felt terrorized by his teacher's words.

"And I told him it was a family tradition," the student recalled. "My dad's done it, my two uncles have done it. And I just wanted to continue that tradition because it's also something I wanted to do as a kid. And he said so if it was a family tradition to beat women, would you continue it too?"

It appears this isn't the first time Salcido has come under fire. The Whittier Times reports the El Rancho High School teacher was placed on administrative leave in 2010 after a parent complained about inappropriate comments he made in class. At the time, Salcido denied making inappropriate comments and said they were exaggerated.

Salcido did not respond to requests for comment but posted a brief message on Facebook: "The Salcido 3 just got out of an excellent musical, 'The Band's Arrival'. I turned my phone back on to unexpectedly see a storm. I don't think it's wise for me to make any specific comments, but I want my friends, family, and students to know we are fine and we respect the rights of free expression for all individuals."
...especially himself when indulging his feelz at the expense of some poor student.

#4  This was the crap from the '60-'70s draft army period. Somewhere in the '70s the military realized to many 'educators' were handing out worthless pieces of paper. The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery was employed to validate those pieces of paper as the military no longer accepted the face value of them.

I've always felt every senior high school student should take the ASVAB, not as a recruiting measure, but as a measure of the education system they've attended for so many years.

Arabia
Yemen president orders his forces to cease fire, as Aden clashes claim 15 lives
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi on Sunday ordered his forces to cease fire immediately in interim capital Aden after fierce festivities with southern separatists.

The call came in a communique issued by Prime Minister Ahmed bin Dagher to the commanders of government forces in the southern port city.

"Based on instructions from President Hadi, supreme commander of the Yemeni armed forces, and after talks with the Arab coalition... you must order all military units to cease fire immediately," said the communique seen by AFP.

It ordered government forces "to return to base", and said all positions taken on Sunday should be vacated by all sides unconditionally.

Coup attempt, accuses PM Dagher
Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Dagher had accused southern separatists of attempting a coup in the interim capital of Aden after they took over the government headquarters.

The premier called on the Saudi-led coalition fighting Iran-backed Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
rebels to intervene, hours after fierce festivities erupted between military units loyal to the government of President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi and separatist security forces.

At least 15 people were killed in fierce fighting on Sunday in Yemen's interim capital of Aden, hospital sources said, as separatists took over the government headquarters.

Three civilians were among those killed, medical sources in four hospitals in Aden said.

Apart from those killed, dozens were maimed in the festivities that spread to most of Aden, security sources said.

"A coup is ongoing here in Aden against legitimacy and the country’s unity," Dagher said in the statement.

Security sources told AFP that pro-separatist units had taken over the government headquarters in Aden after festivities.

The festivities erupted after separatist protestors were prevented from entering Aden where supporters of secessionists were gathering for a rally to demand the ouster of Dagher’s government.

Campaign for Southern secession
The separatists have long campaigned for the secession of southern Yemen, which was an independent country before 1990.

Sunday's festivities broke out between government troops and security forces loyal to the secessionist movement after protesters tried to enter the southern port city, security sources said.

Medical sources said the fighting maimed seven members of the security forces loyal to the separatists and four civilian supporters of the secessionist movement.

Military units loyal to the government of President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi were deployed in most areas of Aden amid heightened tensions, the security sources said.

Aden serves as a temporary base for Hadi's Saudi-backed government as Iran-backed militias took over the capital Sanaa more than three years ago.

A Saudi-led military coalition intervened in 2015 to back Hadi's government in its war against the Houthi militia.

Ahead of the planned protest, the coalition called for calm and restraint from "all Yemeni political and social components".

It urged all parties to "adhere to the language of calm dialogue", according to a statement cited late Saturday by Saudi state news agency SPA.

Sunday's rally was called for by the South Transition Council, an autonomous body aimed at overseeing self-governance among southern provinces.

The 26-member council, which is not recognized by Hadi's government, includes the governors of five southern provinces and two cabinet ministers.

Former Aden governor Aidarous al-Zoubeidi formed the council in May after Hadi fired him the previous month.
An Nahar has more about the South Yemen secessionists here.

Fifty Years Battling the Kultursmog
R. EMMETT TYRRELL, JR.
[SPECTATOR.ORG] At The American Spectator we call it Kultursmog, it being the popular culture of the country, occasionally even the high culture of the country. You want examples of Kultursmog! Think of the production of a Shakespeare play with the players appearing in the nude or dressed up as 1930s gangsters, complete with machineguns. I have never seen, say, the Royal Shakespeare Company, perform Shakespeare in the nude, but doubtless their day will come. On the other hand, I have seen Macbeth cast in gangster garb. It was twenty years ago, and I was either in New York or London... after a few drinks I get the two confused. I suppose their outré casting of Macbeth was supposed to make the audience think.

One of the false assumptions of the Kultursmog is that Americans do not think at all, and so Kultur’s sacrosanct duty is to make us think by disturbing us, by making us want to tear down the theatre, by giving us a nosebleed, by making us really ill. I have never gotten even mildly ill at a high culture event or even a low culture event. I have laughed out loud, but never thrown up ‐ not even over the art of Andy Warhol or of Robert Mapplethorpe or this modern clown of the plastic arts, Jeff Koons. Incidentally, yet another of the Kultursmog’s false assumptions is that high art, if it is good, has disturbed people. You know, at the premiere of Beethoven’s 3rd Symphony, or Michelangelo ’s unveiling of the Sistine Chapel ceiling, or Rodin’s The Thinker. In truth, if Beethoven’s or Michelangelo’s or Rodin’s artistic goals were to disturb their audience or annoy their patrons they would be out of work in a flash and quite possibly tossed in the calaboose
You have the right to remain silent...
by Prince Esterhazy or the Crown Prince, or the Emperor or whatever.

Kultursmog may be laughable and trivial and childish, but it is everywhere. Americans cannot escape it. Even Europeans and Asians cannot escape it. Which is why The American Spectator has survived for fifty years. It’s been one laugh after another always at the expense of the Kultursmog ‐ its pollutants and its polluters. The sociologist and other such frauds decry the abundance of dead end jobs here in America. But for me having a dead end job hasn’t been so bad. I have been at The American Spectator, as editor-in-chief, for fifty years without interruption, without being furloughed, without being promoted, without even being fired, no sexual harassment charges, and always the same crummy two-week vacation ‐ year in and year out.

We began by laughing at the Kultursmog when it was the product of Liberalism. There was, for instance, the Alger Hiss farce. It went on for decades. At the Nation magazine it doubtless still is going on. There, Alger remains innocent. One of the magazine’s most convincing arguments was made by Hiss’s son who argued that Hiss could not be a communist because he once caught his male member in the zipper of his trousers. We thought that was funny. There was the Reagan Administration when all major media believed that President Ronald Reagan was an ignoramus and clinically insane, even as he was winning the Cold War and reviving Jimmy Carter
...only the second worst president ever...
’s decrepit economy. There were the Clinton years when the Spectator scandalized polite society by doing what was then never done: talking about a string of cuties that Bill had violated and Hillary had covered for. Today we call Bill’s innocent White House recreations Sexual Harassment ‐ and if you do it, watch out. And by the way, what is this talk about the Russians having some mysterious dirt on Hillary? It is no mystery. You will find it chronicled in the Spectator for over twenty years. How about in 2007 when I reported that the Russians had taped Bill having phone sex with Monica. He did it on open telephone lines.

Pelosi's 'White' America
[AMERICANTHINKER] The Dems continue defining themselves as the "non-white" party. They've cobbled together their alliance of minorities, defined as "blacks and [fill in the blank]" and it was for awhile the balance they needed to tilt elections. Now it's morphed into outright hatred of whites, actually more pronounced than the dismissive nature of 1930's and '40's whites. This hatred tends to wane around election time, then to wax once they've resumed their (often hereditary) seats. I'm curious as to how long they can keep spewing ugly hatred twenty months at a time, then reshape themselves as The Constituents' Friend™ for the other four months.

Chelsea Clinton Says ‘Women's Reproductive Health Rights Are Connected to Climate Change'
[Gateway Pundit] Women’s ’reproductive health rights’? Well, that is also connected to Climate Change.

Chelsea Clinton
...the overeducated, underbright daughter of a former president and a former presidential candidate...
promoted a Washington Post op-ed written by the slimy John Podesta and United Nations globalist, Timothy Wirth. The op-ed which blatantly pushes eugenics and global population reduction is titled, ’Women’s Rights Issues Are Climate Change Issues’.

The op-ed encourages women to abort their babies and have fewer children because the global population is exploding.
When we talk about stepping up to address climate change across the world, we rarely think of it in terms of women’s rights. But if environmental activists really want to reduce emissions, raise living standards and build a more sustainable future, they cannot overlook the importance of reproductive rights and health.

Forging a coalition between the environmental movement and the women’s rights movement will not only fundamentally advance women’s rights but also do a world of good for the planet, which is bearing an environmental burden because of population growth.

Podesta and Wirth then encourage women to murder their unborn babies and or delay pregnancies via "family planning". This is typical of eugenicist psychopaths who believe they are ’God’ and can control population growth. This is another attack on Christianity:

YOU are the Aviator and YOU must make the flight ILS ALS or however with maps, Compass, and protractor. We have serious issues with your laziness in navigation.

Posted by: newc || 01/29/2018 4:24 Comments || Top||

#2  GPS was originally designed with selective availability, i.e. the ability of the US to degrade the accuracy on publicly-usable signal bands vs the dedicated military bands. But that was essentially abandoned by the mid 90s when static "pseudo satellites" became easy to install, allowing the accuracy to be recalculated on the fly.

The signal wavelengths for the military band have been publicly known for a long time. What is new now is not the potential for jamming but rather the likelihood that we have adversaries who can and would do that - plus the massive explosion of GPS-guided armaments, unmanned vehicles etc.

I suspect the taxiway in question paralleled the assigned runway. And CRM can sometimes have a downside, such as when the Pilot Flying the approach turns the controls over to the Pilot Not Flying when the PNF calls the runway in sight (a not uncommon practice.). If the PNF screws the pooch things can get dicey. Contributory factors include the fact that the runway lights (lights distinctly different than those identifying the taxiway) were, apparently, not in service

This kind of thing is not as uncommon as some would believe. I've seen it happen and heard of it more. And the last audio on the CVR, I am sure, was a series of expletives.

#6  Yawn, most likely because the NTSB is doing the actual investigation, not the FAA. By law, anything used by the NTSB cannot be used in a lawsuit. This is to encourage pilots, crew and interested parties to report incidents anonymously without fear of reprisal.

This law has been on the book for decades.

So story should be "FAA cannot conduct accident and mishap investigations. That is NTSB job. FAA can use the information from NTSB to improve regulations, etc. Again, investigation information from NTSB cannot be used in lawsuits.

Spanish terrorist nabbed in Basilan
[PhilStar] The Philippine military on Wednesday filed criminal charges against a Spaniard caught carrying grenades and bomb parts earlier this week in Basilan. Abdelhakim Labidi Adib
... a traditional Spanish name, familiar to us from the Reconquista sagas — or perhaps not...
was charged with for illegal possession of explosives.

Labidi Adib was nabbed at a roadside checkpoint in Masulo town last Monday. He was reportedly carrying a backpack containing a hand grenade, one rifle grenade, a cellphone to be used as detonator, his passport and P8,520 cash.

He was captured in the hinterlands of Maluso town, where the Abu Sayyaf has a presence, while a local rebel with him managed to escape.

Panti said, "Labidi Adib is a known Abu Sayyaf sympathizer and ardent supporter of the establishment of (an) Islamic caliphate here in the Philippines. He was arrested. He threw (away) his bag containing explosives while his companion jumped from a cliff."

Labidi Adib later told prosecutors that he “came from the jungle” in Basilan but refused to say why he traveled there and whom he met. He said this was the first time he visited the Philippines and went to Basilan because he wanted to meet beautiful women. But when he was asked again what he was doing in Basilan, he refused to answer.

Labidi Adib, of Tunisian descent,
...ah yes, those traditional Tunisian-Spaniards...
claimed he flew from Switzerland to Manila and went to Zamboanga before going to Basilan. Authorities, however, said his passport only showed he went to Morocco and Tunisia.

Authorities said Labidi Adib arrived in the Philippines in October 2017, about the time the siege in Marawi City ended.

LOSING IT: Michael Moore Comes Unglued In 'Alternative State Of The Union' Email
Moved to Page 4 [DailyWire] Michael Moore is not known for his subtlety, but in a recent email sent to supporters of MoveOn.org announcing the "People's State of the Union" protest (which, ironically, features mostly Hollywood celebrities and leftist commentators), Moore may have truly authored an unhinged masterpiece.

The "People's State of the Union" will be held Monday night, the night before President Donald Trump gives his address to a joint session of Congress and to the nation. And although far-left celebrity organizer Mark Ruffalo has promised "a more populist point of view, based on the people’s point of view," Moore seems to be going for Trump's throat.

""Donald J. Trump has proven himself to be completely unfit for office, a threat to our country, and an imminent danger to the world. He is not well; he is a malignant narcissist and an active sociopath," Moore writes, clearly through gritted teeth.

"And because he holds the codes to fire nuclear weapons, he is a singular threat to humanity," Moore continues.

That's right. Trump is not simply wrong, he is "unfit for office," and an "imminent" threat to all of humanity. The obviously-qualified-to-give-a-psychological assessment Moore, has also personally determined that Donald Trump has a loss of mental faculties, which could either be "malignant" narcissism, or the signs of being an "active sociopath."

Asking each of MoveOn.org's donors for a paltry $3, Moore goes on to extoll [sic] the virtues of the "resistance," which has been instrumental in doing nearly nothing to derail Donald Trump's presidential agenda.

"But our problems go far beyond one sociopath president. The mission that we are on and the work that we must do is to tear down the rigged system that produced Trump in the first place. We must imagine the America that we want to live in. We must create the post-Trump America," he says. "And this is actually possible: The fierce, determined Resistance movement that began after Trump's election could create an avalanche at the polls this November."

The rest of the email is rather self-congratulatory, failing to mention that most of Moore's own "resistance" efforts have failed miserably.

His documentary, "Fahrenheit 11/9," was shelved indefinitely after it's distributor and financier, Harvey Weinstein, was alleged to have sexually harassed, abused, and even raped dozens of women. The Weinstein Company will not allow Moore to take the film elsewhere until he repays $2 million that Weinstein loaned him to begin production.

Applying the death penalty deftly and fairly
[TAMPABAY] It is possible to question the morality and deterrent value of the death penalty
and still appreciate the way Hillsborough State Attorney Andrew Warren has approached the issue of capital punishment during his first 13 months in office. Warren recently announced he would seek the death penalty for Howell Emanuel Donaldson III, who has been accused of killing four people seemingly at random in the Seminole Heights neighborhood in 2017.

Unlike Aramis Ayala, his counterpart in Orange and Osceola counties who has refused to pursue the death penalty under any circumstances, Warren did not hide his beliefs on capital punishment before his election in November 2016. He has readily acknowledged the problems with lengthy delays that contribute to huge financial costs, the racial disparity in death penalty sentences and the rare, but real, possibility of executing someone who was wrongly convicted.

Yet as a candidate, Warren said he believed a state attorney should invoke the death penalty "fairly and consistently and rarely.’’ Thus far, he has upheld that standard. Warren has taken the death penalty off the table in a handful of cases he inherited, and his office has specifically cited mental illness as a mitigating factor that will be considered.

But Warren has also pursued the ultimate punishment in what he determines are the most egregious cases, and the four killings of innocent people walking the streets of their neighborhood qualifies. The worthiness of the death penalty remains open for debate, but Warren has deftly juggled his reservations about its use while still fulfilling the duties of his office.
One thing about the death penalty: It cuts recidivism. In the age of al-Qaeda and ISIS, I don't even know why there's a discussion, but I guess I'm just Islamophobic.

#1  Do you lock yourself up at night (those neighborhoods with bars over the windows)? Are there places you avoid in the cities? When the sun goes down, do you worry where your children are?

Then your behavior has been modified by a death penalty. Executions are carried out daily across America without any due process or appeal. Who really has more power, the murders or the state?

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Emirati wife uses husband’s phone to text herself a ‘divorce message’
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Life is intolerable for a wife stuck in a marriage with a man who refuses to divorce her, despite her several pleads.
I think my Mom seen dis soap opera.
In the case of one Emirati lady, It has been extremely hard for her to gain a divorce from her husband according to Dubai-based Al Bayan newspaper, where after three years of a toxic relationship, something had to be done.

The feud
The husband in this case was refusing to grant his wife a divorce, Al Bayan reported, not out of love, but because he wants to humiliate her and emotionally her.

Although no official documents are signed, the married couple with children are effectively separated - fiercely quarrelling and sleeping in separate rooms.

The constant hostilities and fights triggered the Emirati wife to eventually kick her husband out of the house, but she wanted him out of her life too.

’Triple Talaq’
Under Islamic jurisprudence a man can divorce his wife by publicly uttering the words: "I divorce you" three times. This practice is known as the ’Triple Talaq’ (Triple Divorce).

For a woman, however, the divorce process requires presence in court before a judge and a mandatory reconciliation process that when fails, divorce is granted.

In seeking consultation of an Islamic scholar, the wife was reassured that the Sharia practice of "Triple Talaq" is effective via text message, as long as the husband has the intention to divorce and is sure about his decision.

The scholar’s approval encouraged her to proceed with a midnight plot which would forever rescue her from this toxic marriage.

The plot
As her husband was sound asleep, the aggrieved woman used his finger tip to access his mobile phone and send a text message to herself "I divorce you", three times.

The next day she went to the court eager to present her evidence.

Unfortunately, this desperate trick for relief only lead to more complications for want out woman.

What was meant to be a quick solution turned into another nightmare after officials at the Dubai Personal Status Court asked the woman of the source of the message and she admitted her actions.

According to Al Bayan, when the husband was informed he vowed that he will make the divorce process in court as hard and slow as possible.

In remarks to the Iraqi Media News Agency, Farhan Mohammed al-Duleimi, member of the council, said, "intelligence information from Syria confirmed presence of IS members near al-BuKamal region in Syria to launch attacks against Qaim, located near Iraqi-Syrian borders."

"The IS groups cannot control any part of the lands through the terrorist attacks, however, they prepared suicide kaboomers to target military units deployed on borders between Iraq and Syria," he added.

The bad boys, according to Duleimi, spreaded in other locations after the Syrian Democratic Forces withdrew from some locations that they were controlling."

Tight security measures were taken along border areas, he said, however, some Syrian regions near Anbar still endanger troops for being near to the bad boys.

Syrian Army tanks, snipers, rocket artillery and air force jets smash ISIS in northeast Hama
[ALMASDARNEWS] Slowly but surely, the Syrian Arab Army and allied paramilitary groups are inching forward against ISIS following their besieging of the terrorist group’s forces in the country’s northwest about one week ago.

At the present time, pro-government forces have not entirely committed themselves to the an offensive against ISIS throughout the region due to greater military priorities in eastern Idlib and south Aleppo which are hogging up the bulk of offensive resources that the Syrian Armed Forces has at its disposal.

Thai ranger gunned down at his home
[Bangkok Post] A volunteer ranger was gunned down at his house in Yala province on Saturday night.

Police investigator Piyapat Duangtut led a team of officers to a rented house in Yaha district after hearing about the incident. On arriving at the scene, police found the body of Paisal Yalae, a volunteer ranger behind the wheel of his pick-up truck. He had been shot six times.

His wife told police that Paisal was shot by a waiting gunman, who fired about ten shots at him through the window as soon as he arrived home. The gunman then opened the door of the vehicle and fired two more shots at Paisal's head.

Eyewitnesses said that shortly before the attack, six men arrived on three motorcycles. One of them, the gunman, waited in the driveway of the house while five others hid in separate places outside the house. The gunman opened fire when Paisal arrived. After the attack, the men stole an rifle and Paisal's bulletproof vest from the vehicle before fleeing.

Europe
Czech President Zeman re-elected with anti-immigration message
[AlAhram] Czech President Milos Zeman won a second term in a presidential election on Saturday, gaining the backing of voters for his tough stance against immigration and his courtship of Russia and China.

In the run-off against strongly pro-European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
academic Jiri Drahos, Zeman scored 51.4 percent to 48.6 percent for his challenger.

Zeman, 73, is the last prominent figure among active politicians from the country's post-communist transitional period in the 1990s, and has shifted from being a centre-left prime minister 16 years ago to being a president with leanings toward the far-right.

The vote showed Czech voters' concerns over security despite a period of fast economic growth and rising wages. Immigration was a key issue, more than two years after the European Union first faced a major influx of refugees - almost none of whom ever appeared in the Czech Republic.

The result will also influence the formation of the next Czech government, with Zeman one of the few political backers of Prime Minister Andrej Babis, whose minority cabinet lost a confidence vote this month due to fraud allegations hanging over the billionaire businessman.

Zeman has been a polarising force, publicly belittling opponents and sniping at intellectual elites and the media. He was one of the few European politicians to back Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

He has upset many with his warm relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin
...Second and fourth President and sixth of the Russian Federation and the first to remain sober. Putin is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from polonium poisoning. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to Putin. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead...
and calls to end EU sanctions against Moscow imposed over its annexation of Crimea.

His stance toward Brussels has been lukewarm. He calls himself a federalist and supports membership of the EU while also favouring holding an in-or-out referendum, like the one that led to Britannia's impending exit.

Speaking to supporters after claiming victory, Zeman said he would continue travelling the country to meet citizens and hear their worries.

"This is my last political victory, there will be no political defeats," he told the crowd, flanked by advisers and the leaders of the far-right, anti-EU and anti-NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A single organization with differing goals, equipment, language, doctrine, and structure....
SPD party and the Social Democrat party that he once led.

Clash Of Personalities
Zeman has benefited from rising hostility to immigration, especially to people coming from Moslem states, although the country of 10.6 million received just 116 asylum applications between January and November last year and has only a tiny Moslem community.

Both candidates rejected the EU's refugee quotas, but Drahos was labelled weaker on the issue in attack ads in the last week by Zeman supporters.

The two presidential candidates were as different personally as politically. Zeman has a self-advertised appetite for alcohol and tobacco and his health is a concern - he suffers from diabetes, and walks with a stick.

Drahos is a soft-spoken chemistry professor who promised a stronger voice in the EU, reversing the country's aloofness that has put it closer to Poland and Hungary - two states often at loggerheads with the bloc's executive.

(IS), according to the holy warrior group's Amaq news agency.

Earlier reports said the attack had taken place at Marshal Fahim National Defense University, which is near the military base.

How did Monday's attack unfold?
Several kabooms were heard, as well as small-arms fire, as the attack began at about 05:00 local time (00:30 GMT) at the military base in western Kabul.

Two attackers blew themselves up, two others were killed by security forces and a fifth was arrested, defence ministry front man Gen Dawlat Waiziri told the BBC.

Four AK-47 assault rifles, one boom jacket and one rocket-launcher were seized, he said.

The president's spokesperson said none of the attackers had been able to get further than the first gate, Afghan news website Tolo reports.

Afghan military institutions are frequently targeted by holy warriors.

Saudi Arabia sets “precondition” to take part in Kuwait conference on Iraq

The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
has set a "precondition" to allocate financial aid for Iraq, saying that Baghdad should first prove that its decision is sovereign.

Speaking to the Russian Sputnik news agency, Anwar Eshki, a member of the Saudi Council of Ministers’ advisory council, said the Kingdom expressed its readiness to take part in the international conference to be hosted by Kuwait on February 12-14 on the reconstruction of Iraq, but it asked Baghdad to fulfill a number of conditions first.

Speaking about such preconditions, Eshki said the Saudi government wants Baghdad to prove that its decision is sovereign and does not subject to any pressure by Iran or any other country.

However,
ars longa, vita brevis...
he confirmed that Saudi Arabia spares no effort to support Iraq, pointing out that his country is already providing aid supplies to several countries, which are guaranteed by the World Bank and other international bodies.

Earlier, the Iraqi government revealed that it intends to offer big investment opportunities at the reconstruction conference.

In a statement, Secretary General of the Iraqi Council of Ministers Mahdi al-Allaq said that the conference will give priorities to the promotion of major investments in all Iraqi provinces.

Such investment chances are expected to contribute to preparing atmospheres for the return of displaced people and to supporting projects of national reconciliation in some liberated areas, Allaq added.

Donor countries and organizations are expected to announce financial contributions at the gathering.

Turkey warns against terror group’s propaganda
[AA.TR] Ottoman Turkish deputy prime minister on Sunday warned of propaganda launched by gunnies against The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

’s military operation in Syria.

"We must be vigilant and careful about the provocations, incitement, perception operations, lies and defamation during the Operation Olive Branch," Bekir Bozdag wrote on his Twitter account.

"We should not respect any statements or reports which are not confirmed by the official authorities and statements," Bozdag added.

He also warned against the posts and images on social media being circulated by the gunnies and said the citizens "should not, knowingly or unknowingly, help spreading them."

On Jan. 20, Turkey launched Operation Olive Branch to remove PYD/PKK and ISIS gunnies from Afrin, northwestern Syria.

According to the Ottoman Turkish General Staff, the operation aims to establish security and stability along Turkey’s borders and the region as well as protect Syrians from terrorist oppression and cruelty.

The operation is being carried out under the framework of Turkey’s rights based on international law, UN Security Council resolutions, its self-defense rights under the UN charter, and respect for Syria's territorial integrity, it said.
Respect for Syria’s territorial integrity would require Turkey keeping its little proxies on its side of the border, precisely what it is not doing.
Afrin has been a major hideout for the PYD/PKK since July 2012 when the Assad regime in Syria left the city to the terror group without a fight.

Ex-Hezbollah leader hails Turkey’s Mideast policy
[AA.TR] Former Secretary-General of Leb’s Shia Hezbollah movement, Subhi al-Tufayli, has praised The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
’s policy in the Middle East region.

"Turkey is the only country that cares about Syria's security and unity and its foreign policy is in accordance with the expectations and will of the Syrian people," al-Tufayli, 70, said in an exclusive interview with Anadolu Agency on Sunday.

He hailed the Ottoman Turkish position regarding recent anti-government protests in Iran.

"Turkey announced that they would refuse any sort of foreign interference in Iran and emphasized that peace and social stability should be preserved in its neighbor," he said.

"Ankara has successfully overcome all troubles and handled regional problems appropriately," he said. "Iran, however, was not that sensitive to some incidents that took place in Turkey."

Hezbollah and Iran are main supporters of Syria’s Bashir al-Assad regime, whose forces have put down pro-democracy protests with unexpected ferocity in 2011, triggering a deadly civil war that killed tens of thousands and displaced millions.

After leading Hezbollah from 1989 to 1991, al-Tufayli is now a vocal critic of the group’s current leadership, especially its policy on Syria.
There it is. I wondered what he had become after stepping down.

Ancient Syria temple damaged in Turkish raids
O brave, brave neo-Ottoman Lions! To so destroy the undefended patrimony that once was yours before losing WWI also lost the empire.
[IsraelTimes] Syria’s antiquities department and a war monitor says a 3,000-year-old temple has been damaged in Ottoman Turkish air strikes on a Kurdish militia in the country’s north.

The Iron Age neo-Hittite temple of Ain Dara dates back to the Aramean era, from around 1300 to 700 BC, and is named after a village located in the Kurdish-held enclave of Afrin.

The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor said the temple was struck by air strikes on Friday.

"It has been destroyed up to 60 percent," said Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman.

Syria’s antiquities department, a government agency, confirmed the attack on "one of the most important monuments built by the Arameans in Syria during the first millennium BC".

BIFF rebel killed in Maguindanao clash
[Inquirer] Philippine soldiers and Islamic State-inspired rebels based in Maguindanao clashed anew early Friday morning in Rajah Buayan town. In a report, the military said one Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighter (BIFF) gunman was killed in the clash.

The report said the clash occurred when troops intercepted the group of BIFF leader Esmael Abdulmalik, alias Abu Toraife, which was moving out of Rajah Buayan to Mamasapano town. The remains of the slain BIFF member have already been turned over to village officials for immediate burial.

The military has been battling the Toraife group, which had attacked Teduray communities in the province starting December 25. The group allegedly wanted the Maguindanao lumads out of Mt. Firis, where BIFF founder Ameril Umra Kato had declared he was leaving the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in 2008.

Italian Populist Leader Promises To Deport 500,000 Migrants
[Breitbart] Matteo Salvini, leader of the Lega Nord, has promised he will deport half a million migrants if he becomes Prime Minister of ITaly.

The Italian populist promised that if he is elected Prime Minister in the national election in March 2018 he will deport 100,000 migrants within his first year and half a million over the course of his five-year term, the Telegraph reports.

"There are half a million irregular migrants in Italy. All of them need to be sent home," Salvini said earlier this week.

Salvini has been accused by many in the mainstream media of being xenophobic or even racist for his anti-mass migration stance.

He addressed these detractors, saying: "The only antidote to racism is to control, regulate and limit immigration. There are millions of Italians in economic difficulty. Italians are not racist, but out-of-control immigration brings with it far from positive reactions. We want to prevent that."

Salvini and the Lega Nord have formed an electoral alliance with billionaire former four-time Prime Minister and leader of Forza Italia Silvio Berlusconi, and the conservative-nationalist Brothers of Italy party led by Giorgia Meloni.

"'A youth named Nikhil Borkar is responsible for my sister's death. He lured my sister on the pretext of marriage, then used her and started blackmailing her," Ravi was quoted as saying, adding that she took her life because she was "fed up and defeated."

In the horrifying footage, Devidas is seen drinking a thick black substance in the video at her home in the village of Rohini in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, according to the Daily Mail.

"Devidad was discovered by an unknown person and rushed to the District General Hospital in Bhandara but was declared dead on arrival," the Mail reported.
