IDF hits Hezbollah cell, facilities in southern Lebanon
The daily tit for tat.
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says it targeted a group of Hezbollah operatives who were spotted entering a building used by the terror group in southern Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
’s Mays al-Jabal earlier today.

Fighter jets also hit another building used by Hezbollah in Odaisseh, the IDF says.

Separately, an observation post in Kafr Kila was struck earlier, the IDF adds.

Projectiles were fired from Lebanon at the Mount Dov, Yiftah, and Menara areas today, with the IDF saying it shelled the launch sites with artillery.

IDF raids Gaza’s Shifa Hospital again, kills 40 gunmen including senior commander
[IsraelTimes] Soldier killed during operation; military says it had ’concrete intelligence’ terror operatives regrouped in Strip’s largest medical center; 200 suspects captured

The Israel Defense Forces early Monday morning launched a raid on Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. City’s Shifa Hospital, amid intelligence that senior Hamas
...the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
officials were in the area and using the hospital to plan and carry out terror activity, the military said. During the operation troops killed a senior Hamas commander, according to the IDF. One Israeli soldier was also killed amid a shootout with terror operatives in the area of the hospital before dawn.

The raid was launched at around 2:30 a.m., with troops of the IDF’s 401st Armored Brigade and other units, including special forces and the Shin Bet security agency, encircling the hospital, the largest medical center in the Gaza Strip.

As troops arrived at the medical center, Hamas button men opened fire "from within the hospital compound," the IDF and the Shin Bet said. The troops returned fire, killing and wounding several button men, according to the IDF.

There were other exchanges of gunfire in and near the hospital, the military said.

By Monday evening, some 20 Hamas button men were killed inside the hospital premises and another 20 were killed in the surrounding area, the IDF said.

In one incident inside the hospital, the IDF said troops of the Navy’s Shayetet 13 commando unit killed a senior Hamas commander, Faiq Mabhouh.

Mabhouh, who served as the head of operations in Hamas’s internal security, was armed and hiding inside the Shifa complex, "from which he was working to advance terror activity," the IDF said. Mabhouh was killed amid an exchange of fire during an attempt to arrest him, the IDF said. In a nearby room, the IDF said troops recovered a cache of weapons. Mabhouh, according to the IDF and Shin Bet, was responsible for the "synchronization" of various Hamas units in the Gaza Strip, including during the war.

The slain operative was the brother of senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mabhouh, who was allegedly assassinated by the Mossad in Dubai in 2010, Israeli defense sources confirmed to The Times of Israel. Mahmoud Mabhouh was chief of logistics and weapons procurement for the military wing of Hamas.

The IDF also announced that Staff Sgt. Matan Vinogradov, 20, of the Nahal Brigade’s 932nd Battalion, from Jerusalem, was killed in an exchange of fire in the area of Shifa Hospital early Monday. His death brought the toll of slain troops in the IDF’s ground offensive against Hamas to 250.

The IDF released footage (above) showing what it said were Hamas button men shooting at troops from the hospital premises and the nearby area as the raid began. The footage also showed a roadside kaboom being detonated against an Israeli armored vehicle, which the IDF said was activated by operatives at Shifa.

Also at Shifa, the IDF said troops also found weapons and money provided by Hamas and Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
to its operatives at the hospital.

Israel’s intelligence indicated that Hamas operatives and commanders from the northern Gaza Strip recently arrived at the hospital premises to use the buildings as a command center to manage the fighting against IDF troops and carry out attacks against Israel. The IDF said in a statement that it had "concrete intelligence" Hamas operatives had regrouped at the hospital and were planning terror activity.

There was no information on hostages being held in the area, according to the IDF.

Several hours into the raid, the IDF said it had established control over the area, with troops surrounding several buildings at the Shifa complex while calling on Hamas members inside to come out and surrender.

Suspects were being questioned at the hospital by field interrogators of the Shin Bet and the Military Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 504. The IDF said that as of Monday evening, some 200 suspects were tossed into the calaboose by troops. The military claimed that some of those captured were confirmed terror operatives.

In a statement overnight, the military said troops at the hospital were "briefed in advance regarding the importance of preventing harm to civilians, patients, medical teams, and medical equipment" and that Arabic speakers were with the security forces to facilitate communication with patients and staff.

IDF doctors were also on hand "to assist those in need." Once the operation at the hospital is over, "the IDF will continue the humanitarian effort and provide food, water, and additional supplies to the patients and civilians in the complex," the military said.

Patients and the medical staff at Shifa were not ordered to evacuate the hospital but the military created pathways for civilians to leave the area, the IDF said.

During the raid, the IDF called on those living near hospital and residents of the nearby Gaza City neighborhood of Rimal to evacuate to the al-Mawasi "humanitarian zone" on the coast of southern Gaza. Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language front man, published a map of the zones that need to be evacuated alongside the announcement. He said the civilians must evacuate south via the Strip’s coastal road.

At the beginning of Israel’s ground offensive against Hamas, in late October, the IDF called on all Paleostinian civilians in northern Gaza to evacuate south, but some 300,000 have remained since regardless.

Ahead of the raid, the IDF warned Hamas health officials in the Strip that it would not allow the terror group to use hospitals as command centers, without specifying it would target Shifa.

The IDF has repeatedly accused Hamas of deliberately operating from civilian areas, including hospitals, schools, mosques, and shelters.

Last year, the IDF presented evidence to back up longstanding allegations that Hamas used Shifa Hospital as a major operational hub and command center and that the hospital sat atop tunnels housing headquarters for Hamas fighters who were using patients as shields. The US has corroborated the evidence presented by Israel.

The IDF completed destroying the tunnels under Shifa in December. Hamas’s latest alleged activity at the hospital took place in its buildings and not tunnels, according to the IDF.

Last month, the New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

reported that a tunnel underneath Shifa was used extensively by Hamas for military operations and is nearly twice as long as the IDF had previously revealed.

[IsraelTimes] Citing a military source, Syria’s state news agency says Israel struck a number of targets in the Damascus countryside.

The SANA report claims that Syrian air defenses intercepted a number of Israeli missiles and that the strikes resulted in only "material losses."

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britannia-based war monitor, said the strikes targeted weapons depots of Leb

Afghanistan
Pakistan hits TTP hideouts in border regions inside Afghanistan amid spike in terror attacks
[GEO.TV] Pak forces this morning carried out intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in the border regions inside Afghanistan against snuffies launching attacks in Pakistain from Afghan soil, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said on Monday.

The target of today’s operation was the snuffies belonging to Hafiz Gul Bahadur
...a member of the Madda Khel clan of the Uthmanzai Waziris. Educated in a Deobandi madrassa located in Multan, he is affiliated with the Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) political party. Upon the formation of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in December 2007, he was announced as the group's overall naib amir under Baitullah Mehsud, who was based in South Wazoo, but has largely distanced himself from the TTP due to rivalries with the Mehsuds and disagreements about the TTP's attacks against the Pak state..
Group, which along with the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
Pakistain (TTP), is responsible for the March 16 attack in Mir Ali, North Wazoo and multiple other terrorist attacks in the country, resulting in deaths of hundreds of civilians and law enforcement officials.

On Saturday, at least seven Pakistain Army soldiers — including a lieutenant colonel and captain — embraced martyrdom after gallantly fighting with snuffies as they attacked a security forces' post in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The Foreign Office (FO) issued a detailed statement on the matter, saying that Pakistain, for the past two years, has repeatedly conveyed its serious concerns to the interim Afghan Government over the presence of terror outfits including TTP inside Afghanistan.

It said that these snuffies pose a grave threat to Pakistain’s security and have consistently used Afghan territory to launch terror attacks inside Pak territory.

Pakistain accords prime importance to the illusory sovereignty and territorial integrity of Afghanistan. It has, therefore, always prioritised dialogue and cooperation to confront the terrorist threat.

"We have repeatedly urged the Afghan authorities to take concrete and effective action to ensure that the Afghan soil is not used as a staging ground for terrorism against Pakistain. We have also called on them to deny safe havens to TTP and to hand over its leadership to Pakistain," the FO said.

The statement added that Pakistain has great respect for the people of Afghanistan; however, certain elements among those in power in Afghanistan are actively patronising TTP and using them as a proxy against Pakistain.

"Such an approach against a brotherly country, which stood with the people of Afghanistan through thick and thin, manifests shortsightedness. It ignores the support extended by Pakistain to the people of Afghanistan over the last several decades.

"We urge these elements in power to rethink the policy of siding with Khwarij snuffies shedding the blood of innocent Paks and to make a clear choice to stand with the people of Pakistain," it added.

The FO further stated that terrorist groups like TTP are a collective threat to regional peace and security.

"We fully realise the challenge Afghan authorities face in combating the threat posed by the TTP. Pakistain would therefore continue to work towards finding joint solutions in countering terrorism and to prevent any terrorist organization from sabotaging bilateral relations with Afghanistan," the statement concluded.

However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
the Afghan Taliban claimed that two air strikes carried out inside Afghanistan by Pak forces had killed right people in the war-torn country.

"The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan does not allow anyone to compromise security by using Afghan territory," said Zabiullah Mujahid, a front man of the Taliban administration, in a Rooters report.

He added that the strikes took place in the eastern border provinces of Khost and Paktika
...which coincidentally borders South Wazoo...

After criticism, White House says Israel interferes in US politics more than the other way around

Sullivan is asked during a press briefing whether the US could do more to speak directly to the Israeli people regarding its concerns over a mass IDF invasion of Rafah. He says it is ironic that the press is asking that question given Netanyahu’s recent appearance in American media, in which he has blasted Washington for interfering in Israeli politics.

"In fact, we don’t do nearly as much as they speak into ours," Sullivan asserts without elaborating. Pot, Kettle

nuclear deal that Obama was seeking to ink.

Sullivan appears to try and soften his criticism, saying it was not "a constructive answer to your question, just an observation."

He reveals that Netanyahu on the call raised his concern regarding "a variety of things that have come out in the American press," but avoids detailing them further.

"From President Biden’s perspective, this is not a question of politics, it’s not a question of public statements, it’s a question of policy and strategy. That’s what he’s focused on, that’s what he was focused on in the call," Sullivan says.

Biden is not focused on what’s popular or on shaping public opinion, but rather in advancing his broader regional initiative to see a two-state solution with Israel enjoying normalized relations with all of its Arab neighbors, Sullivan maintains.

"While it is true that many voices in Israel can’t see that today, that is not going to alter the president’s view... that that is what is not just in the US national security interest, but it’s really the only solution to secure Israel’s future as a democratic, Jewish state that is secure and at peace with its neighbors, including its most immediate neighbors — the Paleostinian people."

‘Far right’ AfD surges in German polls, finds strong support among disillusioned in former communist east
[israelTimes] When Sabine Thonke joined a recent demonstration in Berlin against Germany’s far-right party, it was the first time in years she felt hopeful that the growing power of the Lions of Islam in her country could be stopped. Thonke, 59, had been following the rise of the Alternative for Germany, or AfD, with unease. But when she heard about a plan to deport millions of people, she felt called to action.

"I never thought such inhuman ideas would be gaining popularity in Germany again. I thought we had learned the lessons from our past," Thonke said.

Many Germans believed their country had developed an immunity to nationalism and assertions of racial superiority after confronting the horrors of its Nazi past through education and laws to outlaw persecution.

Ben Gvir celebrates issuing 100,000 gun licenses since October 7
[IsraelTimes] Minister asserts women were raped and murdered on October 7 ’because there were not enough weapons,’ saying his office has given out permits to tens of thousands of women

Putting more weapons on the streets has made Israel safer, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir declared on Monday, celebrating the fact that his office has approved 100,000 gun licenses since October 7.

"This week, we reached a milestone at the National Security Ministry: The 100,000th citizen received their firearms license," said Ben Gvir, standing in front of a poster with an image of a handgun and the slogan "100K Israelis armed," ahead of his far-right Otzma Yehudit party’s weekly faction meeting in the Knesset.

"In fact, out of 299,354 applications submitted since the war...more than 100,000 citizens have already been approved to arm themselves, because weapons save lives," he said.

"We have seen throughout the last months how much a weapon saves lives," he continued, stating "the dimensions of the [October 7] disaster were less" in places where "civilians could protect themselves."

"We have also seen this in recent [terror] attacks, and I think that the work at the National Security Ministry is proving itself," he added.

Asked about concerns relating to crime and domestic violence raised by women’s groups, concerned by the influx of guns in the public sphere, Ben Gvir responded that his ministry is working to make sure that weapons only end up "in the right hands."

Women were raped and murdered on October 7 "because there were not enough weapons," he argued, adding that he had given out permits to "tens of thousands of armed women who can now defend themselves."

Requests for gun permits surged following Hamas
...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
’s massive attack, and the National Security Ministry granted temporary authority to approve gun license applications to his personal staff appointees, Knesset employees and others.

Between October 7 and mid-November, more requests for gun permits were filed than in the previous 20 years.

Hebrew daily Haaretz claimed in December that thousands of licenses were granted illegally, and that Ben Gvir intervened personally to help former spy-for-Israel Jonathan Pollard overcome police and court objections to his obtaining a gun license.

Last November, the United States reportedly delayed a shipment of 4,500 M-16 rifles due to concerns that Ben Gvir would use them to arm settlers in the West Bank and was inappropriately distributing the weapons at political events.

CNN Analyst Spreads Disinformation To Get Feds To Meddle In Elections Against Trump
[CNN] National Security Analyst Juliette Kayyem said the Biden Department of Justice’s lawfare against former President Donald Trump is not enough to defeat him and called on the Department of Homeland Security to meddle in the election to stop Trump from winning.

On Saturday, Trump warned Americans of an economic "bloodbath" in the auto industry if Biden wins a second term.

"China now is building a couple of massive plants where they’re going to build the cars in Mexico," Trump said during an Ohio rally. "[China thinks] that they’re going to sell those cars into the United States with no tax at the border."

"We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those cars — if I get elected," the former president continued. "Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath."

Democrats and the media, however, cut the clip to suggest the former president was simply saying there would "be a bloodbath" if he lost. All over TV screens and social media last weekend, they spread the deliberately false disinformation narrative that Trump had called for a violent "bloodbath" if he loses.

Government Corruption
Driving White Illegal (DWM)
[Federalist] Steven Michael Nasholm passed away "unexpectedly" on Jan. 30, according to his obituary.

The 35-year-old husband, father, and trucking company owner was killed in a late January crash in northern Wisconsin’s Rusk County. Nasholm’s killer, according to police, was Jorge Sanchez-Tzanahua, a 22-year-drunk driver who was in the country illegally and had no business behind the wheel of a vehicle.

The fatality is another in a growing list of "unexpected" deaths allegedly at the hands of an illegal immigrant in President Joe Biden’s borderless America.

Jonathan Turley Says Prosecutions Of Trump Prove Him ‘Right' About Weaponization Of Government
[Daily Caller] George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley said Monday that the "improvisational" nature of the cases against former President Donald Trump caused damage to the image of the legal system and proved Trump was "right" about being targeted by a "weaponized" justice system.

Trump’s attorneys said Monday the former president was having difficulty posting a $454 million bond to cover the judgment in a civil fraud case issued by New York Judge Arthur Engoron in February. Turley said that the cases brought by Democratic Attorney General Letitia James, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, special counsel Jack Smith and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis proved Trump’s allegations that he was being targeted correct.

Ketanji Brown Jackson ‘concerned' First Amendment is ‘hamstringing' government from censorship
[Washington Examiner] Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson raised concerns that the First Amendment may stand in the way of government censorship in unique times.

In Monday’s oral arguments for Murthy v. Missouri, Jackson appeared to be skeptical that the government could not censor social media posts in "the most important time periods."

"My biggest concern is that your view has the First Amendment hamstringing the government in significant ways in the most important time periods," Jackson said to Louisiana Solicitor General Benjamin Aguiñaga.

"You seem to be suggesting that that duty cannot manifest itself in the government encouraging or even pressuring platforms to take down harmful information," Jackson said. "So, can you help me? Because I’m really worried about that because you’ve got the First Amendment operating in an environment of threatening circumstances, from the government’s perspective, and you’re saying that the government can’t interact with the source of those problems."

Aguiñaga said his view was that the government should intervene in certain situations, but it has to do so by following the First Amendment.

"Our position is not that the government can’t interact with the platforms there. They can and they should in certain circumstances like that, that present such dangerous issues for society and especially young people," Aguiñaga said in response. "But the way they do that has to be in compliance with the First Amendment. And I think that means they can give them all the true information that the platform needs and ask to amplify that."

Covered with my body. Belgorod third-grader saves his nine-month-old sister
Direct Translaiton via Google Translate. Edited.
by Anastasia Odinyan

[REGNUM] Nine-year-old Zhenya from the village of Belovskoye, Belgorod Region, became a folk hero overnight. During the shelling, the boy shielded his younger sister.

When the Ukrainian Armed Forces began shelling Belovskoye, the Lagutin family was at home. Zhenya’s mother, grandmother and two brothers were in a small room, and the boy was drawing in the hall. "My little sister was sleeping on the sofa nearby."

Suddenly - a flash, an explosion, glass flew... The boy immediately rushed to the baby, grabbed her tightly and shielded her with his back from the flying fragments, Zhenya’s mother, Margarita, tells IA Regnum. After that, he ran with her in his arms into another room, barefoot, and cut his feet.

Thanks to her brother, tiny Angelina was not seriously injured. The children were immediately taken to the trauma department of a local hospital. For the most effective treatment, a traumatologist from the federal center was called there.

When asked why Zhenya rushed to Angelina, he answers in an adult way: she’s my sister, I couldn’t do otherwise!

The whole of Russia learned about the third-grader’s feat - the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, published this story in the official Telegram channel. In turn, the head of the RF Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to reward the Belgorod schoolboy for his heroism.

Nine-year-old Zhenya goes to school, loves to play the guitar and draw. Teachers speak positively about the boy: he studies well and always helps.

“He is the oldest child in the family. Zhenya is a friendly, open boy, studying for grades four and five. “He has a lot of friends, he communicates with everyone,” the school director told reporters.

Now Zhenya and Angelina are already at home and have been discharged from the hospital. The boy’s legs have healed and almost don’t hurt.

The head of the local Ministry of Health, Andrei Ikonnikov, said that the children promptly received the necessary medical care, after which they were sent home.

“The brother covered his sister with his body. Because of this, he was injured more than she was. They were both hospitalized, they underwent a full range of examinations, and currently their condition is close to satisfactory, which allowed them to be discharged for outpatient treatment under the supervision of doctors,” Ikonnikov said.

Margarita and Andrei Lagutin have a large family: four children. Nine-year-old Zhenya is the eldest; he has two younger brothers and a sister, Angelina. The family lives in the village of Belovskoye, Belgorod region.

“We used to have an arrival on the next street,” Margarita recalls. “But there was no such blast wave.” And this is just a nightmare, it hit with such force...”

The small but cozy two-room house was badly damaged by shelling. The blast wave tore out the windows along with their frames, damaged the casing, crumpled the floor, even the boiler flew off.

The Lagutins' house will be restored. In the meantime, grandmother Elena Artemenko sheltered a large family in her village of Shishino. It rumbles here too, but not as scary as in Belovsky, says Margarita.

“It’s banging again,” the woman shudders, “hard.”

The whole family runs into the corridor - the only suitable shelter.

“Okay, Zhenya, everyone: let’s go into the corridor,” the woman commands.

According to her, the whole family is already accustomed to “constantly banging.”

“When there’s a loud roar, adults understand what’s happening and don’t get too scared. But a three-year-old child begins to shake and starts screaming. He’s very scared,” adds Margarita.

She does not hide the fact that she dreams of a quiet life, when you don’t have to worry about a shell falling into your house, and your children risk not returning from school.

Margarita herself is now on maternity leave. The father of the family, Andrei, works a lot. And nine-year-old Zhenya helps his grandfather build a garage: he brings tools, carries bricks. Following the example of his grandfather, a former tanker who served in the GDR, he dreams of going to a cadet school and becoming a military man.

The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, promised to do everything possible to support the Lagutin family - “for which the whole region, our whole big country is worried.”

Japan wants to send two astronauts to the moon, media reported
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Sans gossamer wings.

[Regnum] Japan plans to send two astronauts to the Moon after 2028 as part of the US Artemis space program. The Japanese newspaper The Japan Times reported this on March 17, citing sources.

It is clarified that the Japanese and American sides can reach an agreement on this issue after a meeting between Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and US President Joe Biden scheduled for April 10 in Washington.

According to the publication, Japan and the United States are also considering the possibility of agreeing on the operation of the lunar rover developed by Japanese scientists for ten years.

As Regnum reported, on March 9, the first launch of the Japanese private Kairos-1 rocket from Space One from the private spaceport Spaceport Kii was postponed. According to the head of Wakayama Prefecture, Shuhei Kishimoto, this decision was made due to the vessel’s entry into a water area declared as a high-risk zone.

On January 12, the Japanese Aerospace Agency JAXA successfully launched the H2A launch vehicle with the Kogaku-8 optical satellite on board. The satellite belongs to the Japanese government and is designed to collect information about the Earth's surface.

The price of Brent oil on ICE exceeded $87 per barrel for the first time since November 3, 2023
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The price of futures for Brent oil for delivery in May rose above $87 per barrel on March 18 on the London ICE exchange, trading data shows.

This happened for the first time since November 3, 2023. According to ICE data at 21:46 Moscow time, the price rose to $87.01 (by 1.96%). At the same time, by 21:55 Moscow time, the Brent futures price dropped to $86.97.

The futures price for WTI oil for delivery in May reached $82.07 per barrel (an increase of 1.41%).

As Regnum reported, in mid-September at the auction the price of Brent oil exceeded $94 per barrel, which has not been observed since November 16, 2022. The rise in cost comes as forecasts for a deficit in the oil market in the fourth quarter of 2023 after Russia and Saudi Arabia announced voluntary cuts in exports and production of the resource.

On January 7, 2024, Bloomberg wrote that Saudi Arabia, against the backdrop of declining market demand, decided to reduce oil prices for buyers in all regions, including Asia. Riyadh associated its move with the risk of a supply surplus arising from increased oil supplies from the United States.

In October, the World Bank released a report saying that further escalation of the conflict in the Middle East could cause oil prices to rise by 56-75%. In this situation, the cost of raw materials can reach $140–157 per barrel.

Turkish Foreign Minister says that the conflict in Ukraine will not end in 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Resolution of the conflict in Ukraine in the current 2024 is unlikely, said the head of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, on CNN Türk on March 18.

“We see that in Europe a number of politicians are gradually beginning to recognize the risks. Europe should worry more than us. But as for 2024, to be honest, we do not see the basis for a solution,” the Turkish diplomat said.

At the same time, Hakan Fidan noted that he sees some hopes for resolving the conflict in 2025, but everything depends on the circumstances that develop at that time. The head of the foreign policy department also called the recent statements by European politicians in favor of escalation dangerous. The diplomat drew attention to the fact that Turkey is extremely concerned about the growing risk of escalation, as Ankara fears the possible spread of the conflict to the region.

As Regnum reported, the Russian side has repeatedly stated its readiness to negotiate a settlement to the Ukrainian crisis. Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an interview with journalist Dmitry Kiselev, emphasized that Moscow remains ready for negotiations on Ukraine, but they must be based on current realities.

On March 12, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at a meeting with foreign ambassadors, said that plans for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine can only be implemented with the participation of Russia. According to him, any initiatives that do not include the interests of the Russian side will not bring results.

Stoltenberg admits to NATO's role in causing damage to the Russian fleet in the Black Sea
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] NATO is helping to cause damage to the Russian navy in the Black Sea, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on March 18 after a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in Tbilisi.

The head of the bloc said that the situation in the Black Sea is important for both Georgia and NATO. According to him, they allegedly succeeded in restricting Russia’s navigation.

“With our support, the large Russian fleet in the Black Sea is being damaged,” Stoltenberg said.

As Regnum reported, the NATO Secretary General said on March 14 that the Ukrainian Armed Forces, when attacking ships of the Black Sea Fleet over the past two years, used SCALP and Storm Shadow missiles, which were supplied to Kiev by the alliance countries. He also called for increasing the supply of missiles to Ukraine.

On March 17, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, while at the command post of the Black Sea Fleet, ordered training to repel air strikes, as well as attacks by naval drones. He emphasized that this should be carried out including at night.

The head of the Ministry of Defense also ordered the installation of additional large-caliber machine-gun rifle systems on ships in order to destroy approaching drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Georgian Prime Minister Kobakhidze discusses integration into NATO with Stoltenberg

The head of the Georgian government, Irakli Kobakhidze, and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg discussed the issue of integrating the republic into the alliance at a meeting in Tbilisi on March 18. The Prime Minister stated this at a joint press conference with the head of the organization.

“I am glad that today we once again discussed issues of cooperation between NATO and Georgia, as well as the process of our integration,” Kobakhidze said.

He also expressed gratitude to NATO and personally to the Secretary General for “supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia” and said that the alliance plays an important role in developing its defense capabilities.

According to Kobakhidze, Georgia is one of NATO’s most reliable and loyal partners.

Georgia has been a member of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council since 1992. Twelve years later, in 2004, Georgia agreed with NATO on an Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP). Two years later, the Georgian parliament voted for the country’s integration into NATO, but the republic was not accepted into the alliance.

In August 2008, after the army of the republic attacked South Ossetia, Russia carried out an operation to force Georgia to peace. Moscow recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. There are Russian military personnel on the territory of the republics that Tbilisi still considers its territory, and Georgia’s entry into NATO would mean a military conflict with Russia for the alliance.

The Georgian authorities are also striving to achieve European integration of the republic. Officially, the country submitted an application to join the European Union in March 2022. At the end of last year, the republic received candidate status. As noted by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, the EU is thereby trying to annoy Russia.

ExxonMobil and its fight to pursue massive oil find in Guyana
[WND] Exxon Mobil Corp. went to court last week to establish its basic right to review, and ultimately approve or preempt, Chevron Corp.’s planned megadeal to acquire Hess Corp., an independent American energy company that owns a minority stake in Guyana’s enormous offshore oilfield, the Stabroek Block.

Bar none the most exciting and prolific oil find of the past decade, it’s understandable that Chevron would want to get in on the Stabroek action. But as 45% owner and operator of the block, it’s also understandable that Exxon would expect to have the first right of refusal, which is lawyer speak for the opportunity to match Chevron’s offer for Hess’s 30% stake.

Contrary to some critics’ claims, Exxon’s is neither being aggressive nor a bully in seeking to establish its contractual right of first refusal, or preemption rights. Rather, it’s abiding by the terms and obligations of the Stabroek Joint Operating Agreement (JOA), first signed by Exxon and its then-partner, Shell, in 2008—the year exploratory drilling began. At that time, Exxon and Shell agreed to split the risks and costs equally, with each holding a 50% stake.

But after years spent drilling into empty wells, Shell decided to cut its loses, exiting Guyana in 2014 by selling its position to Hess for the bargain price of US$1 per share. Exxon, however, continued to believe in Guyana and welcomed two new partners to the Stabroek consortium that same year: Hess and CNNOC, a Chinese oil company. Some 30 other companies were also invited to join, but none were interested, believing—like Shell—that exploration was too costly, and chances of success too slim.

In defiance of these naysayers, Exxon willfully assumed the lion’s share of the risk with a 45% majority stake, followed by Hess with 30%, and CNOOC with 25%. Months and millions later, in May 2015, Exxon was vindicated with a significant first discovery.

Since then, the Exxon-led consortium has made more than 30 additional discoveries, with Exxon alone investing some $20 billion to develop the Stabroek, now estimated to hold over 11.2 billion barrels of oil-equivalent, including an estimated 17 trillion cubic feet of associated natural gas reserves. That’s more than 110,000 times the total daily oil consumption of the entire world, and more than half the annual natural-gas consumption of the U.S., the world’s largest producer and consumer of natural gas.

Before this abundance was realized, Exxon, Hess, and CNOOC signed a JOA that clearly stipulates the right of all existing partners to participate in any deal that would result in an ownership change, making Exxon undeniably justified in seeking to establish its contractual right of first refusal of the Chevron-Hess deal.

Indeed, it has a fiduciary duty to do so—not only to shareholders, but to the government of Guyana, for whom Exxon last year generated $1.4 billion in revenue by producing 645,000 barrels per day (bpd), making Guyana the world’s no.1 fastest-growing economy with the highest real GDP growth rate on record. And as Exxon ramps up production to reach 1.2 million bpd over the next three years, this growth will only accelerate, with the Guyanese government expected to generate $10 million in annual oil revenues by 2027, and as much as $157 billion by 2040.

Guyana’s people are also benefiting, with per capita GDP rising from $6,477 in 2019 (the year Exxon began production) to $20,560 in 2023. By 2027, per capita GPD is expected to reach $35,900, again thanks to Exxon’s planned production ramp-up. As a result, Guyana has experienced a substantial decline in poverty, with fewer than one-in-every-three Guyanese estimated to be living below the $5.50-per-day poverty line, compared to more than two in every three in 2006.

Having assumed the lion’s share of the risk at a time when few believed in Guyana’s potential, Exxon has both a right and an obligation to shareholders to ensure it realizes the value created in the Stabroek. Just as important, it also has a duty to the government and people of Guyana to ensure it can continue supporting the country’s socioeconomic development—and to do that, the terms of the JOA must be respected. In this case, that means respecting Exxon’s right to participate in and perhaps preempt Chevron’s takeover of Hess’s 30% stake.

Doctor Utyumova advised eating cabbage, apples, honey and legumes during Lent.
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Therapist and gastroenterologist Daria Utyumova spoke about the peculiarities of nutrition during Lent. According to her, meals should be balanced, and foods can be boiled, steamed, stewed and baked in the oven.

Among the most useful, Utyumova named such foods as cabbage, carrots, beets, pumpkin, onions of various types, apples, pears, pomegranates and citrus fruits, as well as persimmons and grapes. The doctor noted that peas, chickpeas, lentils, soybeans, beans and buckwheat, millet, oat and corn cereals, quinoa and bulgur are useful.

During fasting, nuts, corn starch, plant milk, various types of which contain calcium, vitamins B and E, are useful. The specialist suggested supplementing the diet with honey and sunflower halva, which will provide the body with the necessary antioxidants, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc and iron, and a large number of vitamin groups B, E, C, RR, will strengthen the immune system and improve the functioning of the nervous system and the quality of sleep.

“Medical research confirms the positive effects of eating meatless foods on health. It helps fight acidification of the body, promotes weight loss, prevents atherosclerosis and endocrine diseases, and is good for the cardiovascular system,” Utyumova told Izvestia.

At the same time, the doctor emphasized that it is important for patients with diseases of the heart and blood vessels to consult with a doctor before starting fasting and observe moderation in food intake, while fasting is contraindicated for pregnant and lactating women and people with chronic diseases.

According to church tradition, Cheese Week, Maslenitsa, the last week before Lent, began in Russia on March 11. Since ancient times, it has been customary to celebrate it with sledding from the icy mountains, bonfires and pancakes. For believers, Maslenitsa is a kind of preparation for Lent, when the Church prescribes to think more about God, forgive enemies and the misdeeds of loved ones, and give up meat food, leaving only butter, fish and eggs in the diet.

As IA Regnum reported, on February 9, endocrinologist Ekaterina Young said that eating healthy carbohydrates from seasonal root vegetables in the evening promotes good sleep and weight loss. According to the specialist, sleep is important for health, beauty and longevity, and one of the reasons for poor sleep is surges in cortisol in the body, which also affect weight. Cortisol can increase glucose levels and lead to a further increase in insulin production.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Current information on the situation on the front line: March 18 (updated)
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[NewsFront] 21:45 Belgorod and Kursk - RDK offensive, interim results -map.

1. For five days now, the Ukrainian side has been carrying out its acts of terror on the territory of the Belgorod region.

In the Belgorod direction, the enemy’s goal, judging by his actions, is to enter and gain a foothold in border settlements, but these are also actions and attempts to discredit the authorities and the army of the Russian Federation.

At the moment, the enemy has no clear successes. Suffering heavy losses among personnel every day, as well as losses of equipment, the enemy never managed to gain a foothold on any section of the front that he imposed. Having major miscalculations in his actions, the opponent once again showed that he is capable of feats only in the media space, because This operation has been developed by the enemy for quite a long time. But at the same time, having enough time, the enemy still failed to implement his plans.

Yesterday, the much-hyped Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk was shot down.

Daily artillery attack of border villages and cities brought a lot of grief and losses to the civilian population, but did not help the Ukrainian Armed Forces tactically and strategically. Once again, we have only become convinced that the Northern Military District is a necessity to destroy the looming danger for the entire Russian people.
Yesterday the enemy shelled Belgorod with cluster munitions throughout the day.

2. In the Kursk direction, the enemy’s goal is to enter the village of Tyotkino and completely capture it.

But they did not expect such a rebuff in a shooting battle; having suffered losses, they retreated and worked exclusively with artillery for the third day.

The nature of their actions was immediately clear, namely, after artillery preparation they were trying to enter in small groups of seven to ten people in order to minimize losses, while finishing up with FPV calculations.

Today the enemy has been artillery attack the village throughout the day. Tyotkino with artillery of various calibers, there were wounded among civilians.

20:30 Russian Army comes and the defense line of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Avdievka is shifting to the west.

In early March, Bild military expert Julian Röpke reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were having difficulty holding their defense on the Berdychi-Semyonovka-Orlovka-Tonenkoye line west of Avdievka. Now the forces of the 47th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to fight back in Berdychi.

The situation in Orlovka and Tonenkoe is critical for Ukraine.

Some sources claim that these two villages have already been taken by the Russian army. Now the Ukrainian line of defense is shifting from there to the west to the village of Umanskoye (green line on the map).

“The new line of defense is shifting here, running along rivers and reservoirs. This means that they will try to build a defense here. For Ukraine, this is all extremely critical, since it does not have a second line of defense to the west. That is, she must hold this territory. But this is also critical for Russia,” writes Röpke.

19:53 Telegram channel “Fisherman":

Offensive west of Donetsk: counterattack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Krasnogorovka.

To the west of Donetsk, heavy fighting is taking place in Krasnogorovka, where the Russian Armed Forces are trying to advance with armored groups and landing forces. Despite the initial advance in the south of the settlement, significant success has not yet been achieved.

By transferring the reserve, the enemy first stopped the assault groups in the area of the railway, and then partially squeezed out Russian forces from the private sector in the south of the city. The presence of the RF Armed Forces remains at the south-eastern outskirts in the area of Geological Street and the forest clearing near the railway track and warehouse.

At the same time, strikes by FABs with UMPC continue on the territory of the Krasnogorovsky refractory plant, on which the enemy relies in the defense of the city. Apparently, this is partly what prevents the Armed Forces of Ukraine from completely ousting the RF Armed Forces from a populated area.

In this situation, it is likely that the Russian Armed Forces may launch a strike towards the city from neighboring Staromikhailovka, but this is associated with obvious difficulties in the form of well-organized enemy defense in forested areas and high-rise buildings on the eastern outskirts of Krasnogorovka.

18:45 Telegram channel “Fisherman":

Avdievsk direction: Ukrainian Armed Forces attacks on the northern flank, advance of the Russian Armed Forces in Tonenkoye.

Heavy fighting continues to the north and west of Avdeevka. As we expected, the enemy undertook one or more reconnaissance in force north of Petrovskoye and northwest of Krasnogorovka, relying on Ocheretino and Novokalinovo.

Judging by the footage of attacks on the enemy's advanced groups, earlier the Ukrainian Armed Forces were able to occupy part of the landings southeast of the Zarya SNT, but were unable to advance far; attempts to advance were thwarted by fire from the Russian Armed Forces.

One of the assault groups was covered by a “Solntsepek” at the time of advancement or rotation, and the landing of troops from an infantry fighting vehicle was covered by a mortar. In addition, a tank operates at night near the landing site; it has not yet been caught.

The very fact of the enemy’s attempts to advance in this sector should not come as a surprise, since pressure on the northern flank of the Russian Armed Forces units advancing to the west helps at least gain time for organizing defense in Semyonovka and to the west.

The situation in Berdychi and Orlovka is complicated, there are oncoming battles, but neither side is able to take complete control over the populated areas. Most of Orlovka is occupied by the RF Armed Forces, and Berdychi by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the Tonenkoye area, Russian troops continue to try to advance, which is confirmed by enemy footage of kamikaze UAV attacks on armored vehicles carrying troops. Despite the fact that at least several pieces of equipment were damaged during the attack, the very fact of movement in this area makes it possible to determine the absence of enemy forces in the plantings and farms to the west of the village.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are constantly pushing up reserves and snapping back.

The same goes for Berdychakh and Tonenkoye.

10:27 Around 08.30 Moscow time suppressed an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack on targets on the territory of the Russian Federation using the RM-70 Vampire multiple launch rocket system.

Duty air defense systems destroyed ten rockets in the air over the Belgorod region.

A bomb was found in the house of a Sunzha resident
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Security forces defused an explosive device found in the house where the participant in the attack on the traffic police post in Kantyshevo lived, the Sunzha mayor's office reported.

As the " Caucasian Knot " wrote, on March 7 it became known that security forces found a homemade bomb in the house of a resident of the village of Troitskaya, who, according to them, is associated with the militants killed during the counter-terrorist operation in Karabulak.

On March 3, security forces killed six suspected militants during a counter-terrorism operation (CTO) in Karabulak. On March 5, sources reported that Amirkhan Gurazhev, Zelimkhan Tsuroev, Magomed Barkinkhoev, Tagir Tsuroev, Mikail Tutaev and Bers Chemurziev were killed. Later, the same names were published by official news agencies and publications. The investigation believes that all six were supporters of the Islamic State terrorist organization banned in Russia and were involved in an attack on a traffic police post and the murder of three police officers in March 2023. The details are collected in the “Caucasian Knot” certificate “ How the special operation took place in Karabulak.”

When examining a home on Chechenskaya Street in Sunzha, where one of the participants in the attack on a security forces post in the village of Kantyshevo, Nazran district previously lived, security forces found an explosive device, the Sunzha administration reported today on its telegram channel.

“For security reasons, it was decided to destroy the explosive device on the spot. No one was injured during the events,” the publication says.

Let us remind you that on the night of March 28, 2023, during the shelling of the Volga-14 traffic police post near the village of Kantyshevo, on the border of Ingushetia and North Ossetia, two policemen were wounded, and the attackers managed to escape. After the incident, six residents of Ingushetia were put on the wanted list.

A counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced, but the underground participants managed to escape from the security forces two more times, and the security forces suffered losses both times.

After the attack on the Volga 24 traffic police post on March 28, 2023, the wanted persons repeatedly entered into shootouts with security forces and managed to escape from law enforcement officers - on April 3 in Malgobek and on April 5 in Zyazikov-Yurt. During the battle in Zyazikov-Yurt, three security forces were killed and eight were wounded, which was the largest daily loss of security forces since August 2012.

Document on the punishment of detention center employees after the beating of Zhuravel is made public
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Employees of the Grozny pre-trial detention center, where Adam Kadyrov beat Nikita Zhuravel, were punished after an inspection, according to a document published by the Baza telegram channel.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, on September 25, 2023,  Ramzan Kadyrov  published a video recording of his son Adam beating Nikita Zhuravel in a pre-trial detention center. The head of Chechnya praised his son for this act. After this, Adam Kadyrov received the title of Hero of Chechnya and the highest state awards of Karachay-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria, and in total  at least nine  state and public awards.

You can read more about the Zhuravel case in the Caucasian Knot information “ The beating of Nikita Zhuravel: why did Kadyrov’s men need to publish the video.”

According to an official letter from the Investigative Committee, employees of the Grozny pre-trial detention center where Nikita Zhuravel was beaten were punished, the anonymous telegram channel Baza reports today.

“According to the document, the bodies of inquiry conducted an inspection against Adam Kadyrov. Based on the results of the inspection, employees of pre-trial detention center No. 1 of the city of Grozny were punished for what happened - they were allegedly “brought to disciplinary responsibility.” Exactly how they were punished is not indicated in the document,” - the message says.

The publication is illustrated with a photocopy of a response dated March 14 and containing a signature on behalf of the seconded senior investigator Duruev.

The recipient of the response is not indicated on the published photocopy. The text of the document states that the “online appeal addressed to the deputy director of the FSB” does not contain “issues falling within the competence of the investigative department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Chechen Republic,” since “the body of inquiry has already carried out an inspection” in accordance with “the established jurisdiction,” and officials of the pre-trial detention center were “brought to disciplinary liability.”

The "Caucasian Knot" cannot verify the authenticity of the published document. As of 16.55 Moscow time, on the websites of the ICR department for Chechnya and the republican Federal Penitentiary Service, there is no information about the disciplinary punishment of the pre-trial detention center employees and which department carried out the inspection.

Let us recall that on February 27, a court in Grozny sentenced Nikita Zhuravel to 3.5 years in prison, finding him guilty of violating the right to religion and hooliganism. The defense said it  would appeal the verdict.

On May 20, 2023, security forces detained Nikita Zhuravel in Volgograd. According to investigators, the detainee said that  he recorded a video of the burning of the Koran at the direction of the Ukrainian special services and received 10 thousand rubles for it. He handed over the recording to an employee of the Ukrainian special services, for whom he also filmed military facilities, Sledkom reported. After Zhuravel’s arrest, the head of the Investigative Committee ordered that his case be transferred to Chechnya, explaining this by appeals from residents of the republic who asked to be recognized as the injured party. On May 27, 2023, Zhuravel was taken to the Grozny pre-trial.

Family of Khavazh Derbichev called the verdict a reprisal in the case of financing terrorism
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The guilt of Malgobek resident Khavazh Derbichev, sentenced to 15.5 years in the case of financing terrorism, was not proven; Khavazh himself and the witness in the case gave the testimony required by the security forces under torture, Derbichev’s father and his lawyer said.

As the Caucasian Knot reported, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Malgobek resident Khavazh Derbichev to 15.5 years in prison, finding him guilty of aiding and abetting the organization of financing the Islamic State*.

According to investigators, Derbichev provided his friend Ilyas Kartoev with his own bank cards, and Kartoev, with their help, directed more than 13 million rubles to finance ISIS. Investigators believed that Derbichev received money from Kartoev for using the cards and knew about the purpose of the funds. Khavazh Derbichev's father and his lawyer insisted that the defendant did not know about Kartoev's intentions and was not connected with his operations.

Khavazh Derbichev was detained in connection with the financing of terrorism in August 2022, together with Tamerlan Kartoev. A native of Ingushetia, Ilyas Kartoev, who has been put on the wanted list, is also involved in the case. According to the investigation, the latter transferred five thousand rubles to Derbichev monthly for using his bank cards. From this statement, investigators concluded that Derbichev knew about the illegal nature of his acquaintance’s actions.

Khavazh Derbichev turned 40 years old in January of this year; he has three minor children. He graduated from school with excellent results and received a higher legal education, his father Magomed Derbichev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

“We cannot understand why such a harsh sentence? In fact, out of the millions announced, he was charged with 16 thousand 100 rubles. 15 thousand of this money was sent to him by his maternal uncle, the origin of another 1100 rubles was never even established. "It was his own money that sentenced him to 15.5 years. Both his relatives and neighbors, everyone who knows him, are shocked by such a monstrous sentence. I explain this reprisal only by the fact that he is a nationalist, an Ingush," said the father of the accused.

Khavazh was detained at his home; during the preliminary investigation, he was subjected to torture and violence by the security services, said Magomed Derbichev.

“He himself was subjected to pressure and his wife, when she was pregnant - they scared her that the child would be taken away, they demanded that she slander her husband, that he was guilty, that he had done everything on purpose. They put a bag over Khavazh’s head, they threatened to push a stick into his anus, because he incriminated himself. He was not given any medical examination, and when he reported the torture, there were no longer any traces on his body,” said the father of the convict.

According to Magomed, his son knew Ilyas Kartoev from childhood, who organized the collection of charitable funds for Khavazh cards. “They studied together, grew up together. He asked to open a card in his name and give it to him for use, said that it was needed for a charity project. Of course, Khavazh did not suspect anything like that, and would never expose himself and his family to such a risk "- said Magomed Derbichev.

The defendant's lawyer, Mustafa Garakoev, filed a complaint against the verdict. The defense insists that the court misinterpreted the rules of procedural law and demands that the verdict be overturned due to the lack of proof of Derbichev’s guilt.

“We are still waiting for the reasoning part of the decision, but I filed a preliminary complaint on March 14, so as not to miss the deadline. We believe that Khavazh’s guilt has not been proven. He was charged with the period when he allegedly became aware of Kartoev’s activities. In total, from February 2018 to September 22 In 2021, the turnover on the card was 29 million 975 thousand rubles. Khavazh was charged with the amount of 13 million rubles for the period from April 16 to September 22, 2021. We proved that there was no such amount, the case was returned for further investigation, and the prosecution went to court with an amount of 16 thousand 100 rubles - this money arrived on the card within six months, during which Khavazh knew about Kartoev’s activities. Of which, 1100 rubles were unknown from where, and 15 thousand rubles were transferred by his uncle, whom we interrogated in court, presented extracts, and he confirmed it. This, if not falsification, then at least a mistake by the investigator," lawyer Mustafa Garakoev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to the lawyer, Khavazh Kartoev only knew that his cards were used to raise funds for the construction of wells in Africa. "He was summoned for an interview by FSB officers on April 16, 2021. There is this interview in the file. There is not a word there that Khavazh was notified or from which he understood that Kartoev was involved in financing terrorism. Khavazh was asked who he gave the cards to and how he did it, they didn’t talk about its financing [of terrorism]. The period from April 16, 2021 until the day the card was blocked,” said the lawyer.

In accusing Derbichev of premeditation of his actions, investigators obtained the testimony of a witness dependent on them, Adam Kartoev, the defense lawyer noted. "Derbichev said in court that he was tortured, beaten, forced to testify against himself. He incriminated himself, that he knew that he was involved in this financing. There was a witness, Adam Kartoev, who claimed that in Malgobek he met with Khavazh and Tamerlan Kartoev, and both allegedly told him that they knew that Ilyas was involved in financing. Derbichev said that Adam was also beaten and bullied for giving such testimony. Adam also gave away his cards, and at the moment when he took them, they were already blocked,” the lawyer said, adding that all procedural actions during the preliminary investigation took place in the presence of a public defender and in violation of the rights of Khavazh Derbichev.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: March 18, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

[Korrespondent] 22:35 Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that he does not see a foundation for resolving the conflict in Ukraine this year: “There is no foundation in 2024 to expect the development of this issue. We do not see this in the near future.”

22:28 Most EU foreign ministers supported the use of income from Russian assets for Ukraine, but there is no unanimous final decision yet, Borrell said.

21:39 Governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov said that on Sunday, March 17, the region was attacked about 60 times, as a result of which four people were killed and 23 were injured. According to him, at least 30 shells were fired at six municipalities in the region, nine explosive devices were dropped from a drone, and 20 drone attacks were also carried out.

20:43 The Cabinet of Ministers submitted to parliament a bill to increase the number of border guards by 15 thousand military personnel. Reserves need to be increased so that border guards in the post-war period can take control of the border on their own and adequately respond to threats, the government explains.

20:28 There are no risks of breaking through the border in the Sumy region, assured the head of the OBA Vladimir Artyukh. According to him, now the biggest danger in the region is constant air and missile attacks, including on infrastructure, the intensity of which has increased significantly recently. Artyukh said that up to five border settlements are suffering from shelling, in each of which there are from three to ten people left - they are now being evacuated. Local residents completely abandoned 22 settlements in the region.

19:59 Zelensky said in an evening video message that logistics in the army had become “noticeably more efficient.” The president also assured that this year Ukraine will reach its maximum defense production since independence. “And every year we will invariably add to this potential of ours - an obvious strategic prospect for Ukraine,” the head of state emphasized.

19:03 Republican US Senator Lindsey Graham said during a visit to Kiev that he will ask the Biden administration to recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism. He also emphasized that Putin’s supposed 87% support in the presidential elections is “so impressive that there is no trust in it.” Graham believes that after such “elections” Putin is illegitimate.

18:58 Ukraine has again been rocked by scandals involving employees of territorial recruitment centers. The first occurred in Transcarpathia. There, as the man’s relatives claim, TCC employees allegedly kidnapped him from the hotel and drove him to attempt suicide. The second incident occurred in Lviv. So the military commissars forced the volunteer into the car without serving a summons. Read more about these stories in the article New scandals with the TCC.

18:49 Poland and Germany will officially launch an armored coalition to help Ukraine on March 26, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh said.

18:42 Putin said at a concert marking the tenth anniversary of the annexation of Crimea that he had received a report on the restoration of the railway from Rostov-on-Don to Donetsk and Mariupol, and promised to “continue this work.” According to him, “soon trains will go directly to Sevastopol, and this will be another alternative road instead of the Crimean Bridge.”

18:16 Zelensky said that he met in Kiev with member of the US Senate Lindsey Graham - they discussed assistance to Ukraine, the situation on the front line and the needs of the army. “The continued provision of military-technical assistance by partners, including air defense systems and missiles for them, is critically important,” the president emphasized. They also discussed the Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, sanctions against the Russian Federation and the use of frozen Russian assets.

17:47 Syrsky appointed Major Ilya Yevlash as head of the public relations service of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

16:55 The EU Council of Foreign Ministers has made a final decision to allocate an additional 5 billion euros for military support to Ukraine within the framework of the European Peace Fund, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported.

16:38 The Russians attacked the civilian infrastructure of Konotop and settlements in the Sumy region. Preliminarily, there were no fatalities; public utility facilities were damaged in Konotop. The head of the OVA, Vladimir Artyukh, said that compared to last week, the number of shellings has increased significantly - the number of uses of tactical aviation and multiple launch rocket systems has increased. Velikaya Pisarevka suffers the most from shelling.

16:04 Since the beginning of 2024, the Russian army has been using seven times more ammunition at the front than the Ukrainian Defense Forces, said Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Gavrilyuk. In addition, according to him, the enemy has a significant advantage in aviation: in just 77 days of 2024, the Russians dropped more than 3,500 aircraft on Ukrainian positions and front-line territories, which is 16 times more than in 2023.

15:29 The international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children, jointly led by Ukraine and Canada, has already united 33 countries, the Presidential Office reported.

15:07 The Cabinet of Ministers approved a bill on the creation of groups in Ukraine to search for missing persons during the war. Groups will be created in agreement with the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. It is envisaged that the Koorshtab will be given the right to negotiate with humanitarian missions, public associations and individuals operating in temporarily occupied territories in order to search for persons who have gone missing under special circumstances.

14:25 Zelensky said that he held a meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief - received detailed information from the front, heard Syrsky’s report on the main directions of active operations, reports on expenditures and receipts of ammunition, and intelligence data. In addition, there were reports on the protection of critical infrastructure and the construction of defense lines.

14:11 Since last year, North Korea has sent about 7,000 containers with ammunition and other military equipment to Russia, said South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik. Pyongyang likely received more than 9,000 containers of aid in exchange for military support, he said.

13:39 The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated an additional 5 billion hryvnia for the Security and Defense Forces, Shmyhal said. The funds will be used to purchase drones.

13:04 NATO soldiers are already in Ukraine for arms control, intelligence operations and training, writes the Spanish newspaper El País. At the same time, the publication interviewed many military sources from Ukraine and the EU over more than two years of war, and they all claim that not a single NATO army participated in ground combat.

12:49 Zelensky said that he had a telephone conversation with the elected President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, and invited his country to take part in the inaugural Peace Summit, as well as to join the implementation of the Peace Formula clauses on food and nuclear security and the exchange of prisoners.

12:36 Peskov said that the United States is “de facto deeply involved in the conflict” in Ukraine and is “essentially at war with Russia.” He also explained that Putin, speaking about creating a “sanitary zone” on the border with Ukraine, meant “taking measures to ensure the security of Russian territory, which is under attack.”

12:14 US Senator Lindsey Graham arrived in Kiev, the American Embassy in Ukraine reported.

11:59 The Legion of Freedom of Russia, the RDK and the Siberian Battalion claim that during the period of fighting from March 12 to 18 in the Kursk and Belgorod regions, the Russian Federation lost 613 military personnel killed and 829 wounded. Another 27 Russians were captured. More than 130 pieces of equipment were also allegedly destroyed.

11:37 Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis does not believe that the EU will agree to send military personnel to Ukraine. According to him, EU countries are unable to reach agreement even on less important topics.

10:50 The Wall Street Journal writes that the Czech Republic has already ordered 800 thousand artillery shells for Ukraine from various suppliers around the world and has identified countries that can provide another 700 thousand if additional funding is available. At present, the first tranche of 300 thousand shells has already been provided, with Germany making the largest contribution.

Prague does not name the countries where it purchases shells, but the publication claims that they come, among other things, from Russia’s allies. Trade agreements assume that supplies will be carried out through the Czech Republic or third countries, in order to hide any direct connection between the countries of origin and Ukraine.

10:35 China is considering the possibility of participating in the first inaugural Peace Summit, which is to be held in Switzerland in the spring, said Chinese Ambassador to Switzerland Wang Shikhtin. "China stands for promoting peace negotiations... And we have also presented a strategy for the political end of the conflict: the territorial sovereignty of all countries must be respected and the UN Charter must be respected. All parties must work to end the war. We must prevent the crisis from worsening or even escalating control," the ambassador emphasized. At the same time, he added that sanctions against the Russian Federation “cannot end the conflict, but only create new problems.”

10:29 In the morning, the Russians fired at the village. Novoosinovo, Kupyansky district, Kharkov region, one person was wounded, said Oleg Sinegubov, head of the OVA. He also clarified that the attack on the fire station, as a result of which a rescuer was injured, was carried out in the village. White Well, Chuguevsky district.

09:54 In Romania, they began to build the largest NATO base in Europe, designed for 10 thousand military personnel, writes Euronews. Experts note that this is due to the war in Ukraine, which may last for many more years. The facility is being built on an area of almost 3,000 hectares in the Constanta district, on the basis of a pre-existing NATO air base. The project cost is 2.5 billion euros.

09:08 The General Staff announced the estimated losses of the Russian Federation as of the morning of March 18:

08:36 Ukraine will not extend the agreement with Russia on gas transit after December 31, 2024, said Energy Minister German Galushchenko. According to him, last year Ukraine conducted a stress test of the gas transportation system and underground gas storage facilities, which proved the system’s ability to operate without transit.

08:09 In the Alexandria district of the Kirovograd region, as a result of a night attack, private industrial facilities and residential buildings around were damaged, no people were injured, said the head of the OVA Andrei Raikovich.

07:41 On the afternoon of March 17, the Russians fired two ballistic missiles, presumably Iskander-M, at an infrastructure facility in Nikolaev. As a result of the attack, one person was killed and nine were injured, including two children, said the head of the OBA, Vitaly Kim. Private and apartment buildings were damaged, areas of external lighting, part of the tram tracks and the contact network were destroyed.

1,800-year-old Roman statue found by excavator operator during construction in Britain
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] In the UK, an excavator driver unearthed an 1,800-year-old Roman sculpture while constructing a parking lot.

The parking lot was built near Stamford. Excavator driver Greg Crowley, who was at a construction site, noticed a piece of marble in the ground. At first he mistook it for a stone, but soon saw human features. It turned out that the marble head was part of an ancient Roman bust, the remains of which were found near the construction site two weeks later. Experts dated the statue to the 1st–2nd centuries AD.

The construction took place next to the mansion of the Dukes of Exeter, so it is assumed that the bust could have been brought by the ninth Earl of Exeter, who visited Italy several times and brought various artifacts from there. However, in any case, it remains a mystery why the bust was split and buried. This was reported by the Yahoo portal.

As Regnum reported, on September 16, seven tombs about 900 years old were discovered in southern Peru. In them, scientists found human remains, ceramics and gold items. Experts suggested that the burials were of a religious nature.

400 artifacts from the 18th–19th centuries were found in the center of Moscow

About 400 objects from the 18th–19th centuries were discovered during excavations on Usachevaya Street in Moscow. According to the head of the department of cultural heritage of the Russian capital, Alexei Emelyanov, among the artifacts found are children's toys, household items, jewelry, exquisite dishes, coins, pharmaceutical bottles and lipstick jars.

Excavations were carried out in 2022–2023 on an area of more than 5 thousand square meters. Among the finds are, for example, tongs from a set of sweets from the Tremblay confectionery, an unusual tin toy and a porcelain baby doll. All found objects are at the disposal of restorers, who will transfer them to the museum fund.

Let us recall, as the mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin previously reported, over the past 12 years, the archaeological funds of Moscow have been replenished with 100 thousand finds.

There are old things everywhere, it turns out:
Ancient Jewish revolt-era ‘safe rooms’ revealed in the Galilee

[IsraelTimes] Community excavation of Huqoq village carried out with the aid of volunteers and schools; 2,000-year-old finds at site to open to the public March 29 and April 5

Archaeological work at an ancient Jewish site near the Sea of Galilee has revealed a complex of underground bolt holes that were likely used by Jewish villagers during revolts against Roman rule, some 2,000 years ago.

The ongoing excavation of "the most extensive hiding complex discovered to date in the Galilee" has revealed "about eight hiding cavities" with "connecting tunnels... dug at 90 degrees, to hamper the heavily armed Roman soldiers chasing the rebels," the Israel Antiques Authority said in a Monday statement announcing the find.

The underground cavities in some cases had tunnels connected directly to the community mikveh or houses in the village, and one hiding space was created out of a converted Second Temple-era water cistern.

The cavities were found to contain hundreds of broken ceramic and glass dishes, utensils, traces of non-perishable food and other small artifacts, including a ring with the central stone missing.

The areas "weren’t for living, they were like small, underground bomb shelters," said Prof. Yinon Shivtiel of the Zefat Academic College, one of the excavation directors.

Speaking to The Times of Israel by phone from the dig site, he explained that during the period of the First Jewish Revolt, also known as the First Jewish-Roman War (66-70 CE), and during the Bar Kochba Revolt (132-136 CE), Jews could hide out underground or conceal certain people or items when Roman patrols were in the area.

Israeli forces destroyed 300 houses in West Bank: UN
[GEO.TV] The Israeli forces have destroyed almost 300 houses of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since October 7, said the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

Over 1,600 Palestinians have been displaced within the occupied terrorist, including East Jerusalem, since that time.

“The majority of those displaced (903) were during operations carried out by Israeli forces, especially in refugee camps in Jenin and Tulkarm, followed by displacement due to the lack of Israeli-issued permits (640), and displacement due to the demolition of homes on punitive grounds (138).”
In summary, over half were during active firefights, a third should never have been built (and were probably a danger to the inhabitants and their neighbours), and the remainder were terrorists. Where’s the problem?

16 soldiers killed in southern Nigeria during fighting between communities
[AFRICANEWS] At least 16 soldiers, including four officers, were killed in southern Nigeria while responding to a distress call during fighting between two communities, defense officials said Saturday.

The attack in the oil-rich, riverine Delta state happened in the Bomadi council area Thursday when the soldiers, deployed to keep the peace, "were surrounded by some community youths and killed," Defense Headquarters front man Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau said in a statement.

The attack led to the death of the commanding officer, two majors, one captain and 12 soldiers, Gusau said, adding that a few arrests had been made related to the attack, which is now being investigated by the military.

Local media reported the conflict in Delta was related to a lingering land dispute between the Okuama and Okoloba communities, which resulted in the abduction of one man. The soldiers had unsuccessfully tried to negotiate his freedom.

Though mostly deployed on special security operations across the West African country, Nigerian soldiers are sometimes sent to resolve conflict in communities, especially areas with an inadequate security presence or where deadly festivities are common.

'Pure hell is going on in Russia': the terrible 'truth' about the Russian elections
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Vladimir Kornilov

[RIA] So, the presidential elections in Russia have been recognized as valid, the Russian voter has shown his consciousness and activity. Desperate attempts to disrupt the vote or reduce turnout not only failed, but also had the opposite effect. We saw both armed attacks from our external opponents and minor dirty tricks from various internal provocateurs, but against the backdrop of the overall information picture they looked like mosquito bites.

But this is true if we are talking about the information picture in our country. If you detach yourself from the facts and delve into those conjectures and horror stories that are fed to the Western public, then you will be surprised to learn that real hell was going on here! We can quote for a long time the horrors with which the Western media accompanied their articles and stories about our elections - such a flow of disinformation about Russia has not happened for a very long time. But it is enough to refer to just one illustration from the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph: Russian elderly people are filling out ballots, and armed soldiers are bending over each of them, carefully checking the correctness of the vote. The newspaper did not specify what these soldiers do if they see a “wrong” choice: either they are shot on the spot, or they are first taken out of town.

If anyone thinks that this is just a caricature, the work of an artist that has nothing in common with journalistic articles, then they are mistaken. This is roughly how our elections are described in many Western media. This is especially true for materials about voting in regions that are still commonly called “occupied Ukrainian”. “Elections at gunpoint” is simply the standard of most propaganda materials in the West. Only the lazy one didn’t write that armed militants are going from house to house in “Ukrainian cities” and forcing them to vote “for Putin.”

The main “source” of these amazing tales are, as a rule, representatives of that very Ukraine. For example, the Associated Press agency referred to the story of the “mayor of Mariupol” Vadim Boychenko that “a woman accompanied by two Chechen militants with machine guns” walks around the city’s apartments and forces people to vote. Of course, journalistic standards would require it to be explained to readers that this “mayor” fled from Mariupol in the first hours after the start of the SVO, that is, he has not appeared there for more than two years, and is an absolute champion in spreading refuted fakes. But this is if we are talking about journalism, and not propaganda. Therefore, the AP audience gets the impression that they are giving him a quote from an eyewitness to the events.

But some Western publications are trying to accompany their reports on our elections with “photo evidence.” For example, The Washington Post routinely reports: “Ukrainians in territories occupied by the Russian military are being forced to vote in the Russian presidential election under the watch of heavily armed, masked soldiers who accompany election officials as they go door to door knocking on doors, coercing to participate in elections." And this wild statement is accompanied by a photograph in which a woman actually throws a ballot into a ballot box, and a military man in a helmet and body armor stands nearby. The caption under the photo says that the case is happening “in the Donetsk region on the territory of Ukraine, controlled by Russia.”

It would seem that now you won’t be able to dig into it - here it is, “proof” of the allegations about “voting at gunpoint”! But here, too, the seemingly “respectable” publication has sunk to primitive manipulation. It simply did not indicate to its readers that the picture was taken by a Reuters photojournalist not just in the Donbass, but in front-line Avdiivka, that is, three to four kilometers from the line of active fighting. And of course, members of mobile election commissions move there through the shelled ruins of the city, accompanied by armed guards, since Avdiivka is really under constant gunpoint - under the gunpoint of Ukrainian militants! But admit it, and Western headlines will sound completely different!

At the same time, note that no one interferes with the Reuters photojournalist; it is possible that the military man in the photo is precisely ensuring his personal safety. And if The Washington Post really adhered to the above-mentioned standards of journalism, it would have shown other photographs of the same correspondent, in which he captured the voting process in other cities of the DPR - in Donetsk or in Mariupol, a little more distant from the front. However, then we would have to admit that the people of Donbass went to vote in spite of Ukrainian shelling at polling stations voluntarily, and not “at gunpoint,” lining up there.

But if someone believes that such fakes in the West are spread only about elections in Donbass or Crimea, then he thinks too well of the media there. You can find the wildest stories there, just pulled out of thin air. For example, a number of Western media, including the British state broadcasting corporation BBC, shamelessly spread a story about the arrest in Moscow of a certain voter who scribbled some nasty stuff on a ballot, and a policeman spied it and immediately grabbed him. That is, here is a visual confirmation of the same illustration about armed people checking the correctness of filling out ballots!

At the same time, a basic check of this “sensation” shows that its only source is an unknown Telegram channel created a couple of months ago. Even commentators on this channel openly mocked the “news,” asking for the coordinates of the “arrested” daredevil in order to give him warm clothes. Of course, the request remained unanswered. But, let us repeat, this “news” spread across many Western media. No verification of any nonsense about Russia in the West is now required.

Let us note that the lion's share of outright fakes about our elections was spread by those outside Russia, with links to the oldest news agency called “One Grandma Said.” Moreover, we did not restrict the work of Western journalists. Those who wanted to did so sent their own correspondents to the polling stations and received a more or less objective picture.

Thus, the aforementioned newspaper The Washington Post not only published pseudo-analysis by people far from Russia, but also sent its correspondent to Belgorod to see how voting was taking place in the city now under fire from the Ukrainians. And she immediately became convinced that those who constantly say that the Ukrainian raids caused a backlash were right: various residents of the city told her that they went to the polls to spite this barbarity. That is, there were unexpected exceptions to the general rules of covering events in Russia.

But this is truly an exception. Even having the opportunity to send their own correspondents to the site and make sure that our elections are open, few of the Western media took advantage of it. For what? The task of honest coverage of events in Russia is never there. And now - even more so.

In this regard, the material in the Dutch newspaper NRC looks especially funny. Her employee Eva Zucker, who until last year worked as a correspondent in Moscow, wrote an article (of course, now from the Netherlands) in which she compares today's Russia with “Oceania” from Orwell’s novel “1984.” And he cites, of course, the well-known formula “Peace is war!” Well, yes, hearing this from the lips of a representative of the European Union, who finances the war in Ukraine from the Peace Fund, is really funny! Yes, Orwell could not even imagine this!

In the same spirit, recommendations were drawn up based on the results of all these Western fakes about the elections in Russia. Thus, an editorial in the British The Times, talking about “voting at gunpoint,” comes to the conclusion: “The West’s response to this tyranny should be to redouble its efforts to defend democratic Ukraine.” That is, “tyranny” is in Russia, where elections are held (no matter how they are viewed in the West), and “democracy” is in Ukraine, where elections have been completely canceled as unnecessary! Yes, Orwell was nowhere near the current reality!

Russian President Vladimir Putin breaks silence after another re-election
[GEO.TV] After claiming a "landslide victory" in yet another re-election, Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
, in a news conference Monday said that the country would not be "intimidated" by anyone, the Daily Star reported.

Following the presidential elections in Russia, Putin hailed a victory that paves the way for the former spy to become the longest-serving Russian leader in more than 200 years.

All of the 71-year-old's main opponents, according to AFP, are either dead, imprisoned or exiled, while he has overseen an unremitting crackdown on anyone who openly criticises his authority or his military offensive on Ukraine.

Early Monday, in a news conference at his campaign headquarters in Moscow hours after polls closed, Putin said: "I want to thank all of you and all citizens of the country for your support and this trust.

"No matter who or how much they want to intimidate us, no matter who or how much they want to suppress us, our will, our consciousness — no one has ever succeeded in anything like this in history. It has not worked now and will not work in the future. Never."

Putin received 87.2% of the total votes cast, according to official election data, with more than 80% of polling places.

Trump attorneys file to disqualify Fani Willis from election fraud case despite prosecutor stepping aside
[NY Post] Former President Donald Trump’s defense team filed a motion on Monday seeking to dismiss and disqualify embattled Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis from the Georgia election fraud case.

Steve Sadow, Trump’s lead attorney in the case, asked the court to immediately remove Willis. The filing comes days after the judge overseeing the case ruled she could stay on as long as special prosecutor Nathan Wade stepped aside, following the revelation of their romantic relationship.

Sadow claims in his motion that action does not go far enough and is asking to appeal the decision.

“President Trump and seven defendants have jointly filed a motion requesting the Court to grant a certificate of immediate review of its order denying dismissal of the case and disqualification of Fulton County DA Willis,” Sadow said in a statement.

Alongisde Trump, seven of the 14 remaining defendants joined the motion: Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, Robert Cheeley, Michael Roman, David Shafer, Harrison Floyd and Cathleen Latham.

“The motion further notes that the Court found Georgia case law lacks controlling precedent for the standard for disqualification of a prosecuting attorney for forensic misconduct. For these reasons among others, the Court’s Order is ripe for pretrial appellate review,” Sadow concluded.

The attorneys’ filing came after Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee gave Wade and Willis their ultimatum on Friday in a much anticipated ruling over the racketeering case.

Wade stepped down hours later, allowing Willis to stay on.

Google has ‘interfered' with elections 41 times over the last 16 years, Media Research Center says
[FoxNews] ‘No organization has more control over information than Google,’ Brent Bozell told Fox News Digital

Google has "interfered" with major elections in the United States 41 times over the last 16 years, according to a new study from the Media Research Center.

"MRC researchers have found 41 times where Google interfered in elections over the last 16 years, and its impact has surged dramatically, making it evermore harmful to democracy. In every case, Google harmed the candidates – regardless of party – who threatened its left-wing candidate of choice," MRC Free Speech America vice president Dan Schneider and editor Gabriela Pariseau wrote in a summary of their findings.

"From the mouths of Google executives, the tech giant let slip what was never meant to be made public: That Google uses its "great strength and resources and reach" to advance its leftist values," they continued. "Google’s outsized influence on information technology, the body politic and American elections became evident in 2008. After failing to prevent then-candidate for president Donald Trump from being inaugurated following the 2016 election, Google has since made clear to any discerning observer that it has been — and will continue — interfering in America’s elections."

Google pushed back, insisting it has a "clear business incentive" to keep both sides happy and that safeguards ensure non-biased and accurate search results.

Google "interfered" with elections 41 times over the last 16 years, according to a new study from the Media Research Center.
MRC Free Speech America, a division of the conservative Media Research Center, believes the most recent example was recorded after Google artificial intelligence Gemini "refused to answer questions damaging" to President Biden.

The group’s research found that from 2008 through February 2024, "Google has utilized its power to help push to electoral victory the most liberal candidates, regardless of party, while targeting their opponents for censorship."

Examples include appearing to favor Barack Obama over John McCain in 2008, favoring Obama over Mitt Romney in 2012, refusing to correct a "Google bomb" that "smeared" then-leading GOP primary candidate for president Rick Santorum, using its algorithm to exclude autofill results that were potentially damaging to Hilly Clinton in 2016, "not doing the same for then-candidates Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders," and working with partners to help likely pro-Clinton Latino voters go to the polls that same year, according to MRC Free Speech America.

Other examples cited by the MRC include disabling Tulsi Gabbard’s Ads account just as she became the most searched candidate following the first Democratic Party primary debate in 2020, suppressing news critical of Biden, concealing most Republican campaign websites for the 12 competitive Senate races in 2022, and aiding Biden in 2024 by "burying in its search results the campaign websites of every one of his significant opponents."

The study cites several other examples.

"Utilizing the many tools in its arsenal, Google aided those who most closely aligned with its leftist values from election cycle to election cycle since as far back as the 2008 presidential election. Meanwhile, it targeted for censorship those candidates who posed the most serious threat," Schneider and Pariseau wrote.

"While its interference was first evident in 2008, its meddling has turned into an organizational mission to ensure that its candidates win on election day," they continued. "Many studies reveal the results of the tech giant’s commitment."

Schneider and Pariseau cited AllSides and Dr. Robert Epstein, who performed additional research and found that "Google’s search algorithm likely shifted at least 2.6 million votes to Hillary Clinton" in 2016 and that "Google’s results and get-out-the-vote reminders favored Democrats and shifted the 2020 election results by at least 6 million votes."

Google strongly denied any wrongdoing.

"There is absolutely nothing new here - just a recycled list of baseless, inaccurate complaints that have been debunked by third parties and many that failed in the courts. Politicians on the left have a long history of making similar claims too. We have a clear business incentive to keep everyone using our products, so we have no desire to make them biased or inaccurate and have safeguards in place to ensure this. Numerous conservatives have been particularly successful in using our platforms to spread their message to a wide audience," a Google spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

Google has said it is restricting the types of election-related queries on Gemini out of an abundance of caution, directing users to Google Search instead. As for Gabbard’s ads, Google points to a federal judge dismissing a lawsuit she filed against the company on the matter.

Media's Wall-To-Wall Coverage Of Trump ‘Bloodbath' Comment Delivers Zero Context
[DailyWire] Multiple media outlets, liberal pundits, and pretty much everyone who can’t stand former President Donald Trump engaged in a virtual feeding frenzy over the weekend, frothing at the mouth over his campaign rally comment promising a “bloodbath” if his 2024 presidential bid is unsuccessful.

Anyone reading the headlines published by a number of mainstream outlets might believe that Trump was not just predicting, but calling for, political violence if he were to lose another election.

President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign openly accused Trump of wanting another riot on Capitol Hill — a repeat of what happened on January 6th, 2021.

The campaign blasted Trump as a “loser” who “doubles down on his threats of political violence,” adding, “He wants another January 6.”

But while those outlets and others were only too happy to share that one cherry-picked line — Trump predicts ‘bloodbath’ if he loses in November — they were equally happy to leave out the fact that at the time, he was specifically talking about the automobile industry and the economic impact of a company owned by Communist China building cars in Mexico to avoid U.S. tariffs

Here’s the full context of the “bloodbath” comment, which he said was addressed to Chinese President Xi Jinping:

Those big monster car manufacturing plants you are building in Mexico right now and you think you are going to get that — not hire Americans and you’re going to sell the car to us, no.

We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those guys if I get elected. Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole – that’s gonna be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That’ll be the least of it.

Schumer's ‘Rabbi’ is an Anti-Israel Activist Who Protested War on Hamas
[FrontPage] The media decided to defend Sen. Schumer’s attack on Israel and warning to spare Hamas and create a terrorist state by rushing out his ‘rabbi’ Rachel Timoner to claim that “he said what most of us think” and “what the overwhelming majority of American Jews are saying to each other”.

The first part of that is probably true.

Rachel Timoner is an activist with such anti-Israel groups as J Street, T’ruah
…a group of about 2000 leftwing political rabbis and cantors, it was founded in 2002 as Rabbis for Human Rights-North America, advocating for the rights of Palestinian prisoners in Israel and then against torture in GITMO and Abu Ghraib; in 2013 they split off and renamed themselves The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights-T’ruah. They do not support the BDS movement only because the effort does not distinguish between Israel proper and Israel in the Palestinian Territories, and otherwise advocate for a mixed salad of leftwing causes…
and co-founded the New York Jewish Agenda leftist organization alongside Sharon Kleinbaum who faced an exodus from her ‘temple’ after saying Kaddish for Hamas terrorists with a mission of fighting the city’s Orthodox Jews.

The latter isn’t because these anti-Israel extremists don’t represent Jews. They represent only the Jew-hating far Left.

Bringing out Timoner, the clergywoman of the leftist congregation Schumer attends, doesn’t help him. It reveals how bad he really is.

Let’s take a look at what Rachel Timoner has been up to.

Timoner took part in a recent anti-Israel ‘ceasefire’ rally while whining that, “continued war and Israeli occupation of Gaza will be an unmitigated disaster”.

Rachel Timoner signed on to a letter by the T’ruah anti-Israel hate group which claimed that “there is no military solution” and demanded that Biden “ensure that Israel does not invade Rafah” and finish off Hamas.

In the past, Rachel Timoner had signed on to a T’ruah/J Street letter defending BDS.

Timoner, the author of op-eds such as “Fellow Dykes: We Must Be Both Pro-Israel And Pro-Palestine”, tries to have it both ways, but she picked her side.

The side of those who murder Jews.

We know what Timoner is. Now what does tell us about what Schumer is?

“Schumer has attended Timoner’s synagogue near his home in Park Slope, Brooklyn for at least a decade. Timoner officiated his daughter’s wedding, blessed his three grandchildren and buried his father.”

This is what Schumer embraced as his guiding spiritual light.

A mere few weeks after the Hamas atrocities, Rachel Timoner was already scolding Israel in a sermon, warning that, “killing thousands of Palestinian civilians will not bring back the Israeli civilians.”

She repeated the same message in a New York Times op-ed.

T’ruah summed up Timoner’s remarks at one anti-Israel rally as, “American Jews must tell our govt we oppose this war and want an end to the occupation and a real political solution for Palestinians and Israelis.”

That’s the message Sen. Schumer took to the Senate. It’s not the message of American Jews, but of their leftist and Islamist enemies.

What Was the CIA Doing at the January 6 Riot?
[PJMEDIA] It was like old home week for the alphabet agencies at their reunion at the U.S. Capitol riot on January 6, 2021. In addition to all kinds of feds, assets, narcs, PCs, informants, and other characters from the Department of Defense, FBI, Department of Homeland Security, ATF, and the Department of Justice, you can add CIA to the party. What were they doing there? What a fantastic question.

Judicial Watch sued in federal court to uncover January 6 documents relating to "records and communications regarding shots being fired inside the U.S. Capitol, as well as requests for Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Special Response Team assistance on January 6, 2021."

Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch wondered what the agency, which is not allowed to operate domestically, was doing there.

Why didn't the Pelosi January 6 commission, as corrupt as it was, not disclose the CIA involvement? What were they used for? Were they investigating foreign intelligence operations? Were they investigating American citizens? What else have they done related to January 6?

Judicial Watch received ATF documents showing that the CIA had multiple operators there that day.

Were they answering the Mutual Aid request in D.C. or something else?

A CIA bomb team was deployed where "pipe bombs" were found outside the Democratic National Committee headquarters where Kamala Harris had meetings on January 6 and at a club near the Republican National Committee headquarters on Capitol Hill. Multiple dog sniffing teams were put on standby according to the messages.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) records include a series of text messages under the heading “January 7 Intel Chain” in which two separate references to participation by the CIA are made. One states that “two CIA bomb techs” are assisting with “a pipe bomb scene on New Jersey and D ST SE.” Another references “several CIA dog teams on standby.”

The House is investigating why the January 6 Committee destroyed evidence and presented only information that condemned, not exculpated Donald Trump. Maybe they'll have some answers on why there was a feds family reunion planned for January 6, 2021 and that the only ones not sent an invitation were the National Guard.

Feds raising fees for Legal immigration, visas starting in April
[Texarkana Gazette/Dallas Morning News] U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is set to raise the fees to apply for work visas and residency starting April 1, in some cases hundreds of dollars more, to better fund and speed along the infamously slow immigration process.

The agency is backlogged and has become increasingly burdened. USCIS responds to the uptick in demand for foreign work permits and extends resources to the thousands of people being processed each month for humanitarian parole at the southern border.
Even more of an incentive for illegal entry.
If an employer is sponsoring a foreign national worker, they're being hit twice, said Matthew Gross, partner and co-head of the Dallas office of BAL, a global corporate immigration law firm.

"That's shifting the cost burden to U.S. employers who are completely independent of that political issue on the border for simply filing petitions to legally sponsor work for international workers in areas that they need the talent," Gross said.

The cost of filing a petition for a nonimmigrant worker for an H1-B visa, or a work permit for a high-skilled foreign worker, is planned to jump 70% to $780, according to the federal agency. The corresponding registration processing fee will grow next year from $10 to $215.

The rate hike came as the integrity of the H1-B registration process was largely called into question. Reports of employers gaming the lottery system to better their prospective workers' chances by filing duplicate applications led to a change in the petition process.
I guess the Brandon immigration plan the evil MAGA morons killed a few weeks ago would have been better?
The fees for the form used to apply for permanent residence will increase by 26%, costing $1,440.

There's also a $50 discount for filing online.

Britain
Mark Steyn: Celebrate Lack of Diversity
by Mark Steyn

[SteynOnline] So an Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman walk into a pub, and discover that everyone in there is from the Indian sub-continent. Except for the token Welshman. Who's black.

What we used to call the British Isles contain two sovereign states and, setting aside the Isle of Man and the Crown Dependencies, five principal political jurisdictions:

In London, the Prime Minister is a Hindu whose dad is a Punjabi from British East Africa. His opposite number in Dublin, the Taoiseach (a word Joe Biden just about managed to say this weekend), likewise has a Hindu father, who emigrated from Bombay to England.

The First Minister of Scotland also has a Punjabi pa, but this time Muslim. In the next Scottish election, he'll be battling it out with the Leader of the Opposition, who is another Punjabi Muslim.

The largest city in these islands is London, whose mayor is a Muslim with parents from Pakistan.

Celebrate lack of diversity! Is it possible to rise to the top in Anglo-Celtic politics without being from the Indian sub-continent? Why, yes: The new First Minister of Wales was born in Zambia. He is being hailed as the first black leader of a European country.

Remember the killing of Muslims in Albuquerque that the media dropped when it turned out the shooter was Muslim
[KRQE] Verdict reached in first trial for man accused of killing 3 Muslim men in Albuquerque

A jury on Monday found Muhammad Syed
…more fully Muhammad Atif Syed, immigrant from Afghanistan. He was originally said to have killed them because he was angry his daughter married a Shiite. His son, Shaheen Syed A.K.A. Maiwand, who had a habit of beating up his sister, had drivers licenses from Florida and Albuquerque, though he never lived at the Florida address, used a fake address to buy guns, and is thought to have worked with his father in hunting down targets…
guilty of first-degree murder for the July 26, 2022, killing of Aftab Hussein, a 41-year-old Pakistani immigrant in Albuquerque.

Police said Hussein was shot on Rhode Island Street near Copper. Jury deliberation started on Monday morning around 9:00am. It took them only two hours to reach their verdict.

Both the defense and the prosecution rested their cases on Friday after four days of testimony and 20 witnesses. Syed did not testify during the trial. Syed is now a convicted murderer, but the prosecution says his motive is still unknown.

“There’s only minimal conjecture on possible motive. As best we can tell, the motive in this may truly be a random serial killer type of mentality that we will never understand,” says David Waymire, prosecuting attorney.

“Certainly we felt relief, I think that the relief that we feel is certain upon us but as well as the community. We’re just proud of the verdict, proud of the work the jury did in deliberations,” says Jordan Machin, prosecuting attorney.

The prosecution team says they believe the cell phone records putting Syed in the area of the shooting, the gun linked to him, and the note Syed wrote in his Notes app saying he would ‘test’ his AK-47 minutes before the murder all helped make the case.

Syed’s defense team expressed disappointment with the verdict: “We respect the jury system. This is the best system in the world. Obviously we’re disappointed but the jury made their decision, they made a unanimous decision regarding our clients guilt and we have to respect that,” says Thomas Clark, defense attorney for Syed.

“Well certainly we respect their decision but we are understandably disappointed on behalf of our client,” says Megan Mitsunaga, defense attorney for Syed.

Syed still faces two other murder trials for two separate killings that took place in 2022. The next trial that’s expected to take place is for 27-year-old Muhammad Afzaal Hussain, a UNM alumni and Espanola city planner who was shot and killed while walking near his house at night near Cornell and Coal Avenue.

His brother, Muhammad Imtiaz Hussain, has been following this case and also spoke out Monday: “At least it give us a little bit of relief at least, that person who has potential of killing innocent lives, he is behind the bar and no other brother, no other son, will become victim of that hate-monger.”

The third trial is expected to be for 25-year-old Naeem Hussain. Police said Hussain was shot to death while sitting in his car in the parking lot of Lutheran Family Services on Truman off San Mateo, just north of Central Avenue.

No word yet on when the next trial will be scheduled. At sentencing, Syed faces life behind bars without parole for this first degree murder charge. His defense team says they plan to appeal the charge to the state supreme court, but plan to do so after the third murder trial has concluded.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
US journalist Owens found “evidence” of Macron’s wife changing sex
Direct Translation via Google Translate.

"Big Manny?"

[Regnum] In the United States, they found “evidence” of gender reassignment by the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, Brigitte Macron (Tronier). American journalist and TV presenter Candace Owens said that she spent three years collecting “facts” presented to the public.
Good lord. Has the woman nothing at all better to do? In a related question, why does the left side of the news media care?
They say that in 1977, a transgender man calling himself Véronique was interviewed on television, and a comparison of the voice recording with Brigitte Macron's proved that he was the same person.

In addition, according to Owens, the wife of the French president is actually her brother Jean-Michel Tronier, who took the place of his sister who allegedly disappeared in 1961. No one announced what could have happened to her, and from about 1984 he used the identity and even obtained his sister’s birth certificate, identity card and other documents. Accordingly, as the journalist stated, Brigitte’s three children are the children of Jean-Michel, he is their father, and he allegedly called himself a mother with the birth of his last youngest daughter, Tifan, in 1984. The real mother of the children is Jean-Michel's wife Brigitte Ozier, and the first marriage of "Brigitte Macron" in 1974 is not documented, since it was registered without identity verification.

“The secret is well kept. Apparently, after January 1984, Brigitte, née Ozier, lived in Croix or Lille under a different name. So far we have three signatures of her, her wedding photo and her quote from her 1980 wedding,” Owens said on her podcast.

Among other things, she noted that this level of secrecy was achieved thanks to Jean-Michel’s acquaintance - his wife’s brother worked in a certain secret service. Despite all this, the journalists did not find out where the real mother of the children was. In addition, lovers of conspiracy theories noted that the English King Charles III, when meeting with the heads of other states, always kissed the hands of the first ladies, according to etiquette, but in the case of Brigitte Macron, he shook them.

As reported by IA Regnum, Brigitte Macron is almost 25 years older than her husband, he was a classmate of her daughter, they met in 1993, when Emmanuel attended literature classes taught by Brigitte. Then the future president, at the age of 16, wrote a frank novel, which he dedicated to his teacher. She married her student in 2007.

In 2022, a video appeared on the Internet by two women who claimed that the wife of the French president allegedly used to be a man named Jean-Michel Tronier, who, according to them, changed his gender and became a woman. After this, Brigitte Macron, her children and brother filed a lawsuit, demanding compensation for interference in their personal lives, but the court rejected the application, qualifying the circumstances of the case as public libel.

Macron himself until recently did not comment on the topic of gender reassignment, but in March 2024, after the end of an event dedicated to International Women's Day, he called such statements untrue. The French leader called false information and fabricated scenarios the worst that can happen, and noted that rumors about his wife are spread by transgender people and that this is nothing more than the attacks of misogynists that the fairer sex has to put up with every day.

Related: Newsweek has the same story.

Airbus 320 passenger plane flying from Morocco to Belgium had an engine failure
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

A Russian Sukhoi also had an engine failure recently near Moskva.

[Regnum] A passenger plane of the budget airline Air Arabia flying from Morocco to Belgium suffered an engine failure in the sky. The AeroInside portal reported this on March 17.
Nice to know it’s not just Boeing, I suppose. But really, was it inshallah maintenance or Airbus imperfections?
It is clarified that the incident occurred on March 16, when the aircraft crew commander reported the failure of one of the airliner’s two engines.

As a result, the crew decided to make an emergency landing at Casablanca airport, which went well and none of the passengers were injured.

As Regnum reported, on March 15, it became known that a passenger plane operating a flight from Moscow to St. Petersburg requested an emergency landing at the capital’s airport. It was noted that the crew reported an engine malfunction sensor and decided to return to the capital.

Later that day, the SSJ-100 airliner with a failed engine landed safely at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport. According to the airport's press service, this happened at 11:27 Moscow time.

RKN reports 497 DDoS attacks on Russian infrastructure during the elections
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] During the presidential elections in Russia, hackers carried out almost 500 cyber attacks on the country's information and telecommunications infrastructure. This was reported on March 18 by Roskomnadzor.

“During the last elections <...> 497 DDoS attacks were carried out, requiring countermeasures to be taken by the Center for Monitoring and Management of the Public Communications Network of Roskomnadzor,” the department’s press service clarified to TASS.

At the same time, the RNC stated that the attacks were carried out simultaneously on all resources of the election infrastructure. The maximum power of the largest attack was 87 Gb/s. The longest cyber attack lasted 40 hours and 12 minutes.

As Regnum reported, the Russian presidential elections were held for the first time in a three-day format from March 15 to 17.

According to the head of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, since the beginning of voting, 160 thousand attacks on DEG resources have been blocked, the main attacks have been on the voting portal itself - 130 thousand attacks - and the monitoring portal for DEG - almost 30 thousand attacks.

Experts unanimously recognized that the provocations and cyber attacks that were recorded in the first two days of voting came from Ukraine, from IP addresses in Western Europe and North America.

The head of the department for control and supervision in the field of electronic communications of Roskomnadzor, Evgeny Zaitsev, said on March 17 that DDoS attacks did not have an impact on the voting process in the presidential elections in Russia. He also added that experts blocked more than 1 thousand resources with calls to disrupt the elections, the department noted.

The police received 1.4 thousand reports of offenses during the presidential elections in the Russian Federation. Law enforcement officers opened 61 criminal cases for election-related violations, 23 of them for knowingly false reports of terrorist attacks. Also, the Ministry of Internal Affairs throughout the country recorded 52 cases of carrying dyes to polling stations, and opened 33 criminal cases.

The turnout at the elections was a record high and amounted to 77.44%. Based on the results of processing 100% of the protocols, Vladimir Putin won with a result of 87.28%. At the same time, according to the Central Election Commission, Putin received an overwhelming number of votes among those eligible to vote in the elections - about 76 million Russians voted for him.

As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted, Putin’s final results are unique and reflect the highest level of support for the candidate by the country’s population.

The past elections were also marked by a high turnout among Russians abroad. According to data from 199 polling stations on the morning of March 18, more than 372 thousand people voted. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called these figures unprecedented.

Foreign Ministry: For now in arms control, Russia is offered to conduct a security dialogue only on US terms
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] For now, Russia is offered to conduct dialogue only on US terms, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on March 18.

“For now, Russia is invited to conduct a dialogue exclusively on the US terms and only on those issues that are of interest to Washington,” the department told RIA Novosti.

Diplomats called US proposals to begin an arms control discussion with Russia an exercise in hypocrisy and demagoguery. They added that Russia’s position remains unchanged; Moscow is ready to discuss issues of security and stability only in a single complex.

As the ministry noted, Russia, in response to the West’s refusal of dialogue and the strengthening of the network of military bases near the Russian borders, will continue to create a fist of fire and successfully carry out the tasks of a special military operation in Ukraine.

Earlier, on March 18, the American permanent representative to the UN said that the United States wishes to enter into bilateral discussions on arms control with Russia and China without preconditions.

During one of the online conferences in December 2023, former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger said that the difficulty in relations between Moscow and Washington was the lack of dialogue. The politician drew attention to the fact that the biggest problem is that the United States has no dialogue with Russia at all.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in November 2023 that relations with American partners are in a deplorable state. He stressed that in such a situation there should be no dialogue on arms control.

Kremlin rejects US claims that the elections were not free
[Regnum] Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov on March 18 commented on US statements about the alleged dishonesty of the presidential elections in the country and emphasized that the Kremlin categorically disagrees with such an assessment due to Western bias.

“Speaking to reporters late yesterday, Putin said that such assessments are quite expected and predictable, given that the United States is de facto a country deeply involved in the war in Ukraine, and this is a country that, in fact, is de facto at war with us,” said the Kremlin spokesman.

The fact that the United States does not recognize the legitimacy and results of the Russian presidential elections was stated by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, according to whom the American authorities could allegedly “take action” against observers at the presidential elections in the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, in Crimea and Sevastopol.

As Regnum reported, Ambassador-at-Large and Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Commission on Elections Gennady Askaldovich said a day earlier that interference in the Russian presidential elections is coming from all unfriendly countries, among the leaders are primarily the United States, as well as Germany.

Voting in the presidential elections in Russia took place from March 15 to 17, four candidates registered by the Central Election Commission ran for the post: Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Vladislav Davankov (“New People”), who received 99.72% of the protocols after processing 3.21%, 4.3% and 3.83%, respectively, and self-nominated Vladimir Putin, winning with a record result for all presidential elections in Russia of 87.29% of the votes.

As stated by the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, the turnout in the presidential elections in 2024 was 77.44% and became a record in the modern history of the country. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that more than 372 thousand people took part in the voting abroad, which, according to her, is unprecedented. In the Armed Forces, the turnout in the elections was 99.8%; those serving under contract and conscription, civilian army employees and participants in a special military operation took part in the voting.

Pamfilova also said that during the presidential elections no complaints or violations were recorded that required examination by the commission. Observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States also did not reveal any violations in the presidential election process; the elections, according to them, were held in accordance with the constitution, electoral legislation, openly and competitively. The Central Election Commission will officially sum up the results of the presidential election on March 21.

Zakharova advised the British Foreign Minister to look for Middleton and not interfere with the Russian Federation

[Regnum] Russia did not steal anything from Western countries and did not give away anything of its own. Thus, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova responded to accusations of “stolen” elections by the head of the British Ministry of Defense Grant Shapps.

The diplomat recalled Shapps’ remark, according to whom Vladimir Putin allegedly “stole the elections again,” but will not be able to steal Ukraine. The British minister also assured that London’s support for Kyiv will continue.

Zakharova, in response to criticism, suggested that Shapps find Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales.

“We didn’t steal anything from them. We didn't give ours to them. So they get angry. We are accustomed to taking everything away from everyone by the right of “exclusivity.” By the way, what's going on with Kate Middleton? Found it? Look, Shapps,” Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.

As Regnum reported, in January, Kensington Palace informed the Princess of Wales that she had undergone planned abdominal surgery. After this, official events with her participation were postponed.

In March, a number of news outlets published a photo provided by Kensington Palace showing the princess sitting on a chair surrounded by her three children. The photo was later retracted by the media due to “possible digital manipulation.” The incident with the retouched photo fueled theories about where the wife of the heir to the British throne actually is. Kensington Palace declined to comment.

Kate Middleton was forced to apologize on March 10 for publishing a retouched family photo. She thanked everyone for their support and warm wishes.

On the night of March 18, the Central Election Commission of Russia published preliminary voting results for the presidential elections in the Russian Federation after processing 96.02% of the protocols. According to the Central Election Commission, Vladimir Putin received 87.34% of the votes, Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) - 4.29%, Vladislav Davankov (New People) - 3.83%, Leonid Slutsky (LDPR) - 3.15% of the votes.
