Former SSP's son killed his friend for eating girlfriend's zinger burger
Yum! To die for!
[GEO.TV] KARACHI: Investigation has been concluded into a bizarre as well as tragic incident in which a young man allegedly bumped off his close friend for eating a zinger burger the accused had ordered for his ’girlfriend’, police said on Wednesday.

As per the report, the victim was identified as 17-year-old Ali Kerio, son of Javed Kerio, a Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
District South sessions judge, while the accused shooter, Daniyal Nazeer Mir Bahar, is the son of Nazir Ahmed Mir Bahar, a retired Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).

The findings of the investigation suggest that on February 8 Daniyal invited his girlfriend, Shazia, to his house — located in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase V — where his friend Ali Kerio and his brother Ahmar Kerio were also present.

As per the report, the accused had ordered two zinger burgers for himself and Shazia, but Ali purportedly consumed half of one burger, which enraged Daniyal so much that he seized his security guard's assault rifle and opened fire on Ali, who later succumbed to gunshot injuries on way to the hospital.

The investigating officer has finalised the inquiry and submitted the report to higher authorities, implicating the police officer's son in the crime. The accused Daniyal is currently in jail as the legal proceedings of the case continue.

#4  When I was in high school, I was at this house and there was disagreement btwn two gentlemen when one did too much of the other's cocaine which evolved into a ruckus then fist fight. Regardless of the circumstances, when the cops showed up, the story that made it to the local newspaper (when we still had local newspapers) was that there was an disagreement over hamburgers which escalated.

So when I hear stories like this, I think bullshit - unless zinger burger is innuendo... which would make story more believable.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Harvey Weinstein's 2020 Rape Conviction Overturned by New York Appeals Court
[Variety] On Thursday, the court found in a 4-3 ruling that the judge in Weinstein’s trial — a landmark moment in the #MeToo movement that the 2017 allegations against him started — had shown prejudice by allowing women to testify about allegations that were not part of the case. The court has now ordered a new trial.

Weinstein, the Oscar-winning producer of “Shakespeare in Love” and “Good Will Hunting,” is serving a 23-year sentence at the Mohawk Correctional Facility, a medium-security prison in Rome, N.Y. He will remain imprisoned as he was also convicted of rape in Los Angeles in 2022 and sentenced to an additional 16 years in prison. However, Weinstein was acquitted in the Los Angeles trial on charges involving a woman who testified in his New York case.

Weinstein spokesperson Juda Engelmayer said in a statement: “We’re cautiously excited. He still has a long road ahead of him because of the Los Angeles case. We are studying the ramifications of the appeal right now.” Weinstein’s lawyers will be holding a press conference today at 1:30 p.m. ET in Manhattan to discuss the decision.

“We reaffirm that no person accused of illegality may be judged on proof of uncharged crimes that serve only to establish the accused’s propensity for criminal behavior,” wrote Judge Jenny Rivera in the court’s majority opinion. “It is an abuse of judicial discretion to permit untested allegations of nothing more than bad behavior that destroys a defendant’s character but sheds no light on their credibility as related to the criminal charges lodged against them.”

In the New York case, Weinstein was convicted of sexually assaulting Miriam Haley, a former production assistant on “Project Runway,” at his apartment in 2006. He was also convicted of raping Jessica Mann at a hotel in 2013.

Weinstein’s attorneys, led by Arthur Aidala, appealed the conviction on numerous grounds. A lower appellate court denied the appeal in 2022, but the state’s highest court agreed to hear the case.

“Today’s decision is a major step back in holding those accountable for acts of sexual violence,” said Douglas Wigdor, an attorney who represented two pre-trial witnesses in New York. “Courts routinely admit evidence of other uncharged acts where they assist juries in understanding issues concerning the modus operandi or scheme of the defendant. The jury was instructed on the relevance of this testimony and overturning the verdict is tragic in that it will require the victims to endure yet another trial.”

Judge Madeline Singas wrote in the court’s dissenting opinion, “With today’s decision, this Court continues to thwart the steady gains survivors of sexual violence have fought for in our criminal justice system. Forgotten are the women who bear the psychological trauma of sexual violence and the scars of testifying again, and again. This erosion of precedent, born from a refusal to accept that crimes of sexual violence are far more nuanced and complex than other crimes, comes at the expense and safety of women.”

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said: “We will do everything in our power to retry this case, and remain steadfast in our commitment to survivors of sexual assault.”

At oral argument in February, Aidala maintained that Justice James Burke had stacked the deck against Weinstein by allowing three women — Dawn Dunning, Tarale Wulff and Lauren Young — to testify against him.

Each of the women told the jury that Weinstein had sexually assaulted them after they showed up for what they thought would be a business meeting. The so-called “Molineux” witnesses were called to show that Weinstein’s assaults had a common pattern, and that he was not confused about whether or not the victims consented.

Weinstein’s defense argued that the effect of the testimony, however, was to attack his character without shedding any light on the allegations for which he was actually charged.

“This is major prejudice,” Aidala argued in February. “It’s saying, ‘He’s a bad guy. He’s a bad guy. He’s a bad guy.’”

The defense also challenged the judge’s ruling allowing prosecutors to attack Weinstein’s credibility if he had taken the stand. Before the trial, Burke said he would allow prosecutors to raise as many as 28 separate incidents of alleged misconduct, including bullying and threats of violence. Weinstein did not testify, and the defense argued that the judge’s ruling effectively foreclosed his ability to effectively defend himself.

The issue of “prior bad acts” testimony was also raised in Bill Cosby’s successful appeal of his sexual assault conviction in Pennsylvania. In that case, five women were allowed to testify to buttress the one allegation that was charged. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned that conviction on different grounds, finding that prosecutors had reneged on a promise not to prosecute Cosby.

Govt employee shot dead by terrorists in Rajouri, Rs 10 lakh reward for attacker whereabouts

One India summarizes:
In a significant development from Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
's Rajouri district, police have identified a foreign terrorist, known by the codename Abu Hamza, as being involved in the recent killing of a government employee. The dear departed, Mohammad Razaq, aged 40, was targeted in his village, Kunda Top, within the Thanamandi area. Razaq was an employee of the government's Social Welfare department. His brother, Mohammad Tahir Choudhary, serves in the Territorial Army but was unharmed during the attack. Following the incident, Razaq was laid to rest in his village on Tuesday.

The attack was carried out by two individuals linked to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI...
(LeT) group. They forcefully entered the compound of Choudhary's residence. Despite the grave situation, Choudhary managed to escape without any injuries. In response to this act of violence, local authorities have initiated a thorough investigation, filing a case at the Thanamandi cop shoppe. The police have gathered credible evidence pointing to Abu Hamza's involvement in this heinous act.

Efforts are underway by the police and security forces across the Rajouri-Poonch districts to apprehend this group and bring them to justice. In an attempt to gather vital information that could lead to Abu Hamza's capture, authorities have announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh. They have also released a poster depicting the terrorist, who is believed to be 32 years old and was last seen wearing a Pathani suit with a brown shawl and carrying an orange bag. Abu Hamza is known to operate in the Shadra Sharief and Der ki Gali areas and has been implicated in numerous terrorist activities.

Somali National Army and International Partners Strike Al-Shabaab in Middle Shabelle
[ShabelleMedia] In a significant development for Somalia’s security landscape, the Somali National Army (SNA) in collaboration with international partners conducted a successful Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
near Ruun Nirgood, located in the Middle Shabelle region.

This operation targeted key al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
ring leaders and militias, aiming to further the mission of liberating areas in east Galgaduud and central M. Shabelle.

The attack, which took place on April 24, 2024, marks a critical step in the ongoing efforts to dismantle al-Shabaab’s operational capabilities and reclaim territories under their control. This operation is part of a broader strategy to advance security and stability in Somalia, with the support of international partners.

The Middle Shabelle region has been a hotbed of al-Shabaab activity, with the holy warrior group attempting to establish a stronghold and carry out attacks against security forces and civilians.

The recent airstrike reflects the Somali government’s commitment to countering the threat posed by al-Shabaab and ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens.

The operation was part of a coordinated effort to eliminate key al-Shabaab leaders and disrupt their networks, thus weakening the group’s ability to carry out further attacks.

The success of this operation represents a significant victory in the ongoing battle against al-Shabaab, a group known for its affiliation with al-Qaeda and its history of violence and terror in Somalia and the wider East African region.

Biden Calls for 44.6% Capital Gains Tax Rate, Highest Capital Gains Tax Since Its Creation in 1922
[Americans for Tax Reform] President Biden has formally proposed the highest top capital gains tax in over 100 years.

Here is a direct quote from the Biden 2025 budget proposal: "Together, the proposals would increase the top marginal rate on long-term capital gains and qualified dividends to 44.6 percent."

Yes, you read that correctly: A Biden top capital gains and dividends tax rate of 44.6%.

Under the Biden proposal, the combined federal-state capital gains tax exceeds 50% in many states. California will face a combined federal-state rate of 59%, New Jersey 55.3%, Oregon at 54.5%, Minnesota at 54.4%, and New York state at 53.4%.

Worse, capital gains are not indexed to inflation. So Americans already get stuck paying tax on some "gains" that are not real. It is a tax on inflation, something created by Washington and then taxed by Washington. Biden’s high inflation makes this especially painful.

Many hard working couples who started a small business at age 25 who now wish to sell the business at age 65 will face the Biden proposed 44.6% top rate, plus state capital gains taxes. And much of that "gain" isn’t real due to inflation. But they’ll owe tax on it.

Capital gains taxes are often a form of double taxation. When capital gains come from stocks, stock mutual funds, or stock ETFs, the capital gains tax is a cascaded second layer of tax on top of the current federal corporate income tax of 21%. (Biden has also proposed a corporate income tax hike to 28%).

France arrests 16-year-old who said he wanted to make explosive belt, ‘become a martyr' at Paris Olympics
[IsraelTimes] French anti-terrorism authorities have arrested a 16-year-old youth after he said on social media that he wanted to die a martyr at the Olympic Games in Gay Paree this summer, a spokesperson says, confirming an earlier report by BFMtv.

"He was arrested after he publicly announced on social media that he planned to create an boom belt to become a martyr," the spokesperson says, adding that an investigation is underway into whether he had genuine intentions to commit a terrorist act.

Conflict in the Middle East and Ukraine as well as a threat of Islamist terror attacks have led La Belle France, which is hosting the Olympics this summer, to raise its security alert to its highest level.

The French government has asked about 45 foreign countries to contribute several thousand extra military, police and civilian personnel to help safeguard the Gay Paree Olympics this summer, sources told Rooters last month.

Peru judge orders preventative detention for Iranian, 2 others in thwarted plot to kill Israelis
[IsraelTimes] A Peruvian judge has ordered 18 months of preventative detention for an Iranian and two Peruvian men while they are investigated for allegedly attempting to kill two Israelis living in the South American country.

The ruling by Magistrate Miguel Quevedo was handed down Tuesday but released Wednesday. The defendants are also accused of conspiracy to commit terrorism.

The judge said the motive for the unsuccessful alleged killing plot was unclear, but police and prosecutors in Peru have said the Iranian, Majid Azizi, could be a member of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which is responsible for intelligence work outside Iran.

On March 15, after Azizi’s arrest, the Israeli embassy in Lima thanked the Peruvian police and prosecutor’s office in a blurb "for having dismantled an Iranian attack that was directed against an Israeli citizen."

Prosecutors in Peru have subsequently said that images, messages and testimonies were found indicating that Azizi contacted Peruvians Walter Loja and Ángelo Trucios in March to plan the killing of Israeli Shachar Malka.

Malka, who is alive, has said on social media that he has been working as a tour guide and healer with traditional plants in Cusco, the ancient capital of the Incas, for more than five years.

The other Israeli citizen who they allegedly planned to kill was Gilad Duchovny, who opened a cafe in Cusco in 2006 with his twin brother.

According to the judge, "it has been established with a high degree of plausibility" that Azizi conspired with the Peruvians to kill the Israelis. Police found information about Malka and Duchovny in Azizi’s Lima house. One of the Peruvians arrested, Trucios, has a conviction for murder and aggravated robbery.

Book 'im, Mahmoud!
for more than a year and a half for supporting nationwide protests sparked by Mahsa Amini’s death, local media reported Wednesday.

"Branch 1 of Isfahan Revolutionary Court... sentenced Toomaj Salehi to death on the charge of corruption on Earth," the singer’s lawyer Amir Raisian said, quoted by the reformist Shargh newspaper.

Salehi, 33, was arrested in October 2022 after publicly backing the wave of demonstrations that erupted a month earlier, triggered by the death in jug of 22-year-old Amini, an Iranian Kurd who were tossed into the calaboose over an alleged breach of the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s strict dress rules for women.

The court "in an unprecedented move, emphasized its independence and did not implement the Supreme Court’s ruling," the lawyer said, adding that "we will certainly appeal against the sentence."

"The Supreme Court, as an appellate authority, had reviewed the case and issued a ruling to the lower court to remove the flaws in the sentence," he added.

"The fact is that the verdict of the court has clear legal conflicts," the lawyer was quoted as saying.

"The contradiction with the ruling of the Supreme Court is considered the most important and at the same time the strangest part of this ruling."

The Revolutionary Court had accused Salehi of "assistance in sedition, assembly, and collusion, propaganda against the system and calling for riots," he said.

Months of unrest following Amini’s death on September 16, 2022, saw hundreds of people killed including dozens of security personnel, and thousands more arrested.

Iranian officials labeled the protests "riots" and accused Tehran’s foreign foes of fomenting the unrest.

Nine men have been executed in protest-related cases involving killing and other violence against security forces.

Palestinian woman tries to stab troops in West Bank, is shot dead ‐ IDF
Everyday Palestinian viciousness continues, even in the midst of a war.
[IsraelTimes] No soldiers harmed in incident near Kiryat Arba settlement; alleged assailant identified as 20-year-old woman

Israeli troops foiled an attempted stabbing attack near the West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba, the military said Wednesday.

The Israel Defense Forces said a female Paleostinian assailant tried to stab troops of the Kfir Brigade’s Shimshon Battalion, who were stationed at an army post at a junction near the settlement.

"The troops engaged and shot up the terrorist who held a knife and charged toward the force," the military said.

The woman was killed, the army said. No troops were hurt in the incident.

The official Paleostinian news agency WAFA identified the alleged assailant as Maimouna Abdel Hamid Harahsheh, 20.
Suicide by IDF, most likely.
Troops also arrested Ahmed Dawabsha, 21, a resident of the West Bank town of Duma, near Ramallah, who is alleged to have been involved in the murder of 14-year-old Benjamin Achimeir, who was found dead on April 13, a day after setting out from an illegal West Bank outpost to herd sheep.

Since October 7, troops have arrested some 3,850 wanted Paleostinians across the West Bank, including more than 1,650 affiliated with Hamas
...one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,...
. According to the Paleostinian Authority’s health ministry, more than 480 West Bank Paleostinians have been killed in that time.

Washington says ‘real progress' needed before restoring UNRWA funding
[IsraelTimes] White House welcomes independent report that rebuffed Israel’s claim staff are linked to terror; agency head calls for UNSC probe into ’blatant disregard’ for UN operations in Gaza

The White House says it will "have to see real progress" before restoring its funding to the United Nations
...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly...
agency for Paleostinians, the main aid agency operating in war-torn Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
National Security Council front man John Kirby’s comments Tuesday came as a number of countries that froze aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) following accusations by Israel have reinstated funding after a probe found that other claims had not been backed up by evidence.

"In terms of our funding of UNRWA, that is still suspended. We’re gonna have to see real progress here before that gets changed," Kirby said.

Israel charged earlier this year that at least 12 UNRWA staff had participated in the October 7 massacre. It also alleged that thousands more of the agency’s employees had ties to terror groups or were members themselves.

An independent review into UNRWA found some "neutrality-related issues" in a much-anticipated report released Monday, such as agency staff sharing biased posts on social media and tensions between politicized staff unions and the agency’s upper management. However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
the report found Israel had yet to provide evidence for incendiary allegations that staff were members of terrorist organizations.

Many donor countries have resumed funding since Israel’s accusations, including Sweden, Canada, Japan, the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
and La Belle France — while others, particularly the United States and Britannia — have continued to hold out.

"We welcome the results of this report and strongly support the recommendations in the report," Kirby said, noting that the US also faced legal constraints in restarting its funding.

Congress passed a bill signed into law by US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem machine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family...
last month that blocks US funding until March 2025.

In a separate investigation, a UN oversight body is looking into the Israeli allegations against the 12 UNRWA staff.

After the Monday report was released, UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini said Tuesday that the claims against the agency were "primarily motivated by the objective to strip the Paleostinians from the refugee status — and this is a reason why there are pushes today for UNRWA not to be present" in Gaza, East Jerusalem and the West Bank. Israel has long complained about the agency, founded in 1949 to care for Paleostinian refugees. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for UNRWA to be shut down, saying it is infested by terror elements and unjustly seeks to perpetuate a Paleostinian refugee crisis.

Lazzarini called for a Security Council investigation into the "blatant disregard" for UN operations in Gaza, adding that 180 of the agency’s staff have been killed since the war began. He said that the Israeli army has arrested, even tortured UNRWA staffers, echoing assertions published in the UNRWA’s own report from February, which claimed that detained staffers made false confessions about their ties to Hamas
...not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
under coercion from Israeli soldiers.

Lazzarini, who had warned the agency would be insolvent within weeks after funding was pulled months ago, also revealed that the organization had been able to partly offset the shortfall by raising $100 million from online donations.

Israel rejected the conclusions of the report released Monday, saying it was sidestepping the issue.

"This is not what a true and comprehensive investigation looks like," said the Israeli statement. "This is what a desire to avoid the problem and not call it by its name looks like."

Israel’s Foreign Ministry charged that Hamas’s penetration of UNRWA is so deep that "it is impossible to say where UNRWA ends and Hamas begins," as a review of the organization’s links to terror was released.

Numerous past reports have found that UNRWA schools and teachers continue to teach hatred of Jews and glorify terrorism, including a 2022 report by the IMPACT-SE organization that UNRWA textbooks continue to contain incitement. A 2023 report by the same organization along with the UN Watch group cited dozens of examples of social media posts by UNRWA employees that "glorify terrorism, encourage martyrdom, demonize Israelis and incite antisemitism."

The withdrawal of American troops from Niger was called a strategic victory for Russia
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The US decision to withdraw its troops from Niger was a strategic victory for Russia. The British newspaper The Financial Times wrote about this on April 24.

“The departure of the US military was another strategic victory for Moscow in the Sahel,” the article says.

It is noted that a number of African states are increasingly beginning to avoid contacts with Western countries, instead increasing and strengthening cooperation with Russia.

According to Ibrahim Yahaya Ibrahim, senior analyst at the International Sahel Crisis Group, Niger authorities are confident that Russia will be able to protect the country from its former metropolis, France.
From France, sure. But what about ISIS and the local factions of Al Qaeda in North Africa?
He emphasized that the Niger government has repeatedly accused Paris of trying to overthrow the government in the country.

As Regnum news agency previously reported, in March the Niger authorities terminated the military agreement with the United States, which allowed Pentagon representatives and American military personnel to be in the country.

In the north of Niger there is a US military base where unmanned aerial vehicles are located, which were actively used by the American side for aerial reconnaissance. In December 2023, about 1.1 thousand US military personnel were stationed in the African country.

The new authorities of Niger actually cut off logistics for American military personnel in the country, which forced the United States to begin to curtail its presence, explained Foreign Intelligence Service veteran Lev Korolkov to news agency Regnum.

The Politico newspaper wrote on April 22 that the American government is beginning to realize that the strategy of influencing Africa, aimed at undermining cooperation with Russia, is not working. It was noted that a number of African countries are dissatisfied with the imposition of democracy on them, and more and more of them are counting on Russia’s help.

Niger's Interior Minister Mohamed Toumba said the country is interested in the Russian military training its troops.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Niger expressed a desire for Russia to train the country's army

Niger is interested in the Russian military training the republic’s troops, the African country’s Interior Minister Mohamed Tumba told reporters on April 24.

“We would like Russia to train our troops,” he said on the sidelines of the 12th international meeting of high representatives in charge of security issues, which is taking place in St. Petersburg.

As Regnum reported, in the summer of 2023 in Niger, a group of military members from the presidential guard rebelled and announced the removal of President Mohamed Bazoum from power. To govern the country, the National Council for the Salvation of the Motherland was formed, headed by the commander of the guard Tchiani.

On 16 September 2023, Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger announced the creation of the Alliance of Sahel States. This association appeared to organize collective security in the region.

At the end of January, all three countries jointly decided to withdraw from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) as quickly as possible. The authorities of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger explained this step by saying that the organization, in their opinion, is under the influence of foreign powers.

British Navy reports an attack on a ship off the coast of Djibouti
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Unknown persons attacked a ship off the coast of Djibouti in the Gulf of Aden, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported.

“UKMTO has been notified of an incident 72 nautical miles southeast of the port of Djibouti,” the center reported on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
Houthis, IRGC, pirates? It would be nice to have a small hint…
It is noted that the circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the authorities. The department advised vessels to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity to the UKMTO.

As Regnum reported, on April 7, UKMTO reported an attack on a ship in the Gulf of Aden. It was noted that authorities have begun an investigation into the incident, which is classified as an attack.

On March 15, the Yemeni rebel Houthi movement Ansar Allah attacked the Israeli-owned commercial ship Pacific 01 in the Red Sea. The Houthis also attacked a US Navy destroyer.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on March 24 that it repelled an attack by six Houthi drones over the Red Sea. According to the US military, five drones fell in the Red Sea and another flew into Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.

Update at 1:45 a.m. ET: The Times of Israel says it’s Houthis:

over the Gulf of Aden, the US Central Command said on Thursday.

"The [missile] was likely targeting the MV Yorktown, a US-flagged, owned, and operated vessel with 18 US and four Greek crew members," CENTCOM said in a statement.

"There were no injuries or damage reported by US, coalition, or fat merchantmen," it added.

Separately, CENTCOM said it "successfully engaged and destroyed four airborne unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) over Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen."

The ASBM and UAVs presented an imminent threat to US, coalition, and merchant vessels in the region, it said.

Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen attacked the US ship Maersk Yorktown, an American destroyer in the Gulf of Aden and Israeli ship MSC Veracruz in the Indian Ocean, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said in a televised speech on Wednesday.

Earlier Wednesday,, British maritime security firm Ambrey said that it was aware of an incident southwest of the port city of Aden, an area where the Houthis often target ships they say are linked to Israel or the United States.

The vessel reported a kaboom in the water about 72 nautical miles east-southeast of Djibouti, an updated advisory from Ambrey said.
…confirming the Regnum report, above…
Houthi attacks have disrupted global shipping through the Suez Canal, forcing firms to re-route to longer and more expensive journeys around southern Africa. The United States and Britannia have launched strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen.

The Houthis have launched more than 50 attacks on shipping, seized one vessel and sank another since November, according to the United States Maritime Administration.

Houthi attacks have dropped in recent weeks as the rebels have been targeted by a US-led Arclight airstrike

campaign in Yemen, while shipping through the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden has declined because of the threat. American officials have speculated that the rebels may be running out of weapons as a result of the US-led campaign against them and their steady usage of drones and missiles in the last months.

Rosfinmonitoring: the terrorist attack at Crocus was carried out by an international aiding network
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow was carefully planned, it was carried out by an international network of accomplices, the head of Rosfinmonitoring Yuri Chikhanchin said on April 24 at an international forum dedicated to current issues of combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

“We are faced with a carefully planned, prepared terrorist attack that was carried out using an international network of collaborators,” he said.

According to him, the perpetrators of the terrorist attack in Crocus were provided with funding, weapons, transport, ammunition, and the escape routes from the crime scene and their actions were clearly coordinated by curators.

As IA Regnum reported, on the evening of March 22, armed terrorists attacked Crocus, opened fire on visitors with machine guns and set fire to the auditorium. 145 people were killed, including six children, and 551 people were injured.

Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev informed that investigators confirmed and procedurally established the connection between the perpetrators of the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall and Ukrainian nationalists.

Director of the Federal Security Service of Russia Alexander Bortnikov said on March 26 that the testimony of those involved in the case of the terrorist attack in Crocus confirms the Ukrainian trace. He emphasized that the investigation has confirmed data that the perpetrators of the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall received significant amounts of money from Ukraine.

US authorities fear a possible Islamist attack similar to Crocus

US authorities are expressing concern about the possibility of a well-prepared attack by Islamic extremists, similar to the one they carried out at the Crocus City Hall near Moscow. This statement was made by the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Christopher Wray.

"We are increasingly concerned about the possibility of an attack here that may not be much different from what you witnessed in a concert hall in Russia a few weeks ago involving ISIS," Wray told NBC.

The US intelligence community fears attacks by major terrorist organizations in public places. In recent decades, such a possibility has been “extremely insignificant.”

Hundreds of troopers have marched on the University of Texas at Austin before scuffling with pro-Palestine protesters as demonstrations kicked off at campuses across the country.

Police arrested at least four activists - who burst out in tears when they were handcuffed - after warning them they could face criminal charges if they did not disperse.

The rally at the Austin campus was organized by the university's Palestine Solidarity Committee (PSJ) chapter and quickly descended into anarchy.

The group said it was inspired by their 'comrades' at Yale and Columbia University, where in-person classes have been canceled due to the unrest sparked by 'encampments for Gaza.'

It comes as pro-Gaza groups took to universities across the US and clashed with police and Jewish counter-protesters, with furious demonstrators spotted at USC, Harvard, UC Berkeley, Brown and NYU.

Beso,

Funny you should mention that - I've seen the same thought pop up a lot over the last week or so. One writer said that just based on what he was seeing at Columbia, the ratio was 4 or 5 women to 1 male.

And that has brought out a quote from some British fella named Orwell:

"It was always the women, and above all the young ones, who were the most bigoted adherents of the Party, the swallowers of slogans, the amateur spies and nosers-out of unorthodoxy."

'War profiteer': how Norway has been making money on gas since the beginning of the Special Military Operation
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Pavel Anisimov

[REGNUM] On April 21, during his speech at the opening ceremony of the Hanover Industrial Fair, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre and the government of this country for providing Germany with gas after the severance of trade relations with the Russian Federation and hoped that Oslo would remain the main supplier for Germany gas in the coming years. Germany is one of Norway's largest European partners in both political and energy matters. And this is primarily due to gas imports. The Norwegian company Equinor (then called Statoil) has had close energy cooperation with Germany since it began exporting Norwegian gas in 1977.

Ukraine has banned the issuance of foreign passports to those liable for military service abroad
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

More from this story from two days ago.

[Regnum] The Government of Ukraine has adopted a resolution according to which men of military age (from 18 to 60 years old) will not be issued foreign passports and internal passports at foreign diplomatic institutions of the country.

“Obtaining a passport of a citizen of Ukraine, a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad by a male citizen of Ukraine aged 18 to 60 years is carried out at the territorial office of the State Migration Service. Such passports are not forwarded to separate units or foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine to organize their issuance,” says a message posted on the Ukrainian government’s website.

As Regnum reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine previously sent a request to the heads of Ukrainian embassies abroad to suspend all consular actions in relation to Ukrainian citizens of military age, making an exception only for those who issue identity cards to return to Ukraine.

In addition, exceptions will be made for persons with disabilities of the first and second groups, persons caring for them or accompanying them, parents, adoptive parents or guardians of children with disabilities under 18 years of age, guardians of persons with disabilities from among close relatives, persons who have children with diseases requiring medical intervention abroad.

Polish radio RMF24 reported on April 24 that in Warsaw, about 300 Ukrainians blocked a passport issuing point, demanding that documents be issued to them. Before this, citizens received notifications that the documents were ready for issue, but they were refused. In turn, the Polish police indicated that they do not have clear instructions on how to deal with Ukrainian citizens whose passports have expired.

Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, commenting on the decision of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, noted that the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, is using money from the United States to lure out the last Ukrainians in order to finish them off.

Film Review: At the edge of the abyss
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited/

Text taken from a review by @podval_lyrics which appeared in Telegra.ph

[ColonelCassad] How many people do you expect to see in the cinema at 10am on a Sunday? And if we add to this the fact that the film is an uncompromising, two-hour documentary written by a war chronicler? At the premiere screening of “At the Edge of the Abyss” by Maxim Fadeev and Sergei Belous, the hall was not just “filled”. People were sitting in the aisle, on the steps. Several years of work on terabytes of material filmed on the battlefield have borne fruit - before us is the most honest war film, a living monument to fallen heroes and a real model for any documentarian for years to come.

Terror Networks
Teenage terrorists. How to prevent our children from becoming bad guys
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Semyon Borzenko

[REGNUM] The other day, my 16-year-old daughter was sharing the latest news over the phone. Preparations for the OGE are underway, they gave me a role in a new school play, and appointed me as “mayor of the class.” And also - from an unknown number, an unknown citizen offered to make money from... a terrorist attack.
This matches what the Crocus City Hall attackers said happened to them, those making the offer claiming they spoke for ISIS-K.
Many of Alice's classmates have received similar offers in recent months. They received it and unanimously sent the tempter “to ban.” Clean and prosperous students of a private school, teenagers from fairly wealthy families, did not find anything interesting for themselves in such an offer. And thank God, as they say.

However, in Russia, not all boys and girls study in private schools and receive several thousand rubles each week for pocket money. In our country, tens of thousands of children live in discouraging poverty, or, let’s face it, in poverty.

Of all the property, in addition to the most modest clothes, there is a second-hand smartphone, which is protected like that very egg with the needle of Koshchei the Immortal.

We sympathize, but this sympathy is usually free, and is located somewhere on the periphery of the soul or consciousness. They say that the problem is obvious, but in Russia in general there is a lot that is imperfect, nothing can be done about it. But this problem can and is already turning into a big disaster.

On April 17, relay cabinets were set on fire at the Gusevo station in the Smolensk region. The culprits were quickly found - three teenagers aged 13 to 16 years old gave confessions to employees of the regional FSB department. They took this step for the most banal of all possible reasons: they were recruited “in bulk” by a popular messenger for 70 thousand rubles.

The money offered to wealthy people for such a crime seems absurdly insignificant - it can’t even buy a decent phone of the latest model, especially if divided among everyone. But if you look at them through the eyes of the village children, for whom such a sum is simply incredible, the picture becomes completely different.

Another case is from the Samara region. On the same day, April 17, two high school students from Togliatti were detained after attempting to set fire to an Mi-8 helicopter at the Kryazh military airfield. Moreover, they already had experience in carrying out sabotage: they set fire to relay cabinets in the village of Borovka, a cell phone tower in Togliatti and a non-functioning train at the Zhigulevskoe More railway station.

They are constantly trying to recruit children to carry out bloody crimes. Scans of such telephone correspondence are posted, for example, in one of the regional groups on a popular social network and are available to anyone.

“... I have a proposal for you... your task is to mine... I’ll equip you... will 700k work?” “People are bio-trash... Are you ready to mine and kill mass bio-trash?” “I am offering you a very large sum in exchange for some actions... I will give you weapons, drugs, a bail of half a million, you agree to carry out a terrorist attack, I will send you a plan of a shopping center...”

And it's not just about money. Anonymous people (it’s easy to guess that we are talking about unscrupulous manipulators working for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine) offer teenagers a “dangerous but exciting adventure.”

And this is quite consistent with the age-related craving of certain individuals for near-criminal romance, the fashion for the formation of youthful street groups, the tendency to violate prohibitions and rebel against everything.

In this regard, it is even easier with young children than with gullible pensioners, whom the same “anonymous” send to set fire to the doors of military registration and enlistment offices and fill ballot boxes at polling stations with green stuff.

First of all, schoolchildren living in new Russian territories
…the conquered areas of Ukraine and the recently acquired Crimea, one assumes…
are at risk. There, by the way, you can even find “ideological” ones - brainwashing with anti-Russian narratives during the period when these lands were controlled by the Kyiv regime could not pass without leaving a trace.

But it’s possible to find potential terrorists with milk still wet on their lips in any region—and the more depressed it is, the easier it is to find.

One can complain about the gaps in patriotic education. You can spend class hours telling stories about the pioneer heroes of the Great Patriotic War or examine the images of Malchish-Kibalchish and Malchish-Plokhish in a literature lesson. All this is correct, but, alas, not enough.

The situation is so acute that it requires special measures that cannot be left to individual enthusiasts who have realized the depth of the problem, teachers and even parents, although they should be interested in the first place.

This requires urgent intervention from the Ministry of Education and numerous public-state children's associations created to replace the pioneers and the school Komsomol.

All teenagers in the country need to be given information about the large-scale provocation into which they want to drag the younger generation of Russians, in the shortest possible time, in an extremely clear, clear and without sentimentality manner.

And, of course, about the consequences that await those who, out of naivety, stupidity or in pursuit of money, decide to cooperate with Ukrainian “curators”: indelible shame, criminal prosecution, prison. For a long time.

The question arises: shouldn’t Ukraine respond in a mirror way by recruiting teenagers from poor farms? The answer is simple: never and never. Dehumanization (and this is exactly what it is) should not become the norm for Russia.

But anonymous curators and their leaders must be found. Find and punish. And there is no statute of limitations for this task.

In the Netailovo area, Russian troops are putting pressure on the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, attacking Ukrainian positions. So far, no significant progress. There are heavy battles going on.

The situation is similar in the Umansky region, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold back attacks by the Russian Armed Forces. In the area of ??Semyonovka and Berdychi there are tactical successes of the Russian Armed Forces, but advances in these settlements are very difficult for Russian troops. At the moment, hostilities are taking place on the approaches to these villages.

North of Berdychi there are significant advances in Novobakhmutovka. Also, the initiative remains with the RF Armed Forces in Ocheretino, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to retreat further and further, leaving their positions. In Novokalinovo there are oncoming battles.

– In the Chasovoyarsk direction, the offensive of the Russian troops “stalled” on the eastern outskirts. Fierce fighting continues in the suburb of Chasov Yar. Also, the RF Armed Forces are trying to improve their position on the part of Bogdanovka.

– In the Artemovsky (Bakhmutsky) direction, Russian troops are storming the Kanal microdistrict on the eastern outskirts of Chasov Yar. The enemy relies on a large number of defensive positions; dense mining of the approaches to the city makes it difficult for the Russian Armed Forces to advance.

Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title

[Korrespondent] 22:35 The United States will continue to supply ATACMS tactical missiles to Kiev, said White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. He added that Kyiv will use ATACMS missiles within its territory.

21:57 Hungary supports the Chinese “peace plan” to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said after talks in Beijing with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.

21:52 The Cabinet of Ministers has banned the sending abroad of passports for men aged 18 to 60 years. According to the resolution, “receipt of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine, a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad by a male citizen of Ukraine aged 18 to 60 years is carried out at the territorial body/territorial division of the State Migration Service. Sending such passports to a separate unit or foreign diplomatic institution of Ukraine for organizing them no issuance will be made."

21:46 Kuleba said that Ukraine expects seven Patriot systems from its partners. According to the minister, one was supplied by Germany, negotiations are underway for four more, and he “saw personally” two more batteries, but has not yet announced details on them. The negotiations were difficult because “the countries that own these air defense systems are bargaining for compensation,” the foreign minister noted. At the same time, Kuleba added that he has no doubt, “given the progress we are making, that there will be Patriots.” The minister also hinted that the eighth system could come from the United States: “I think that the US Army probably has one spare.”

21:34 Ukraine and Portugal have begun work on a draft bilateral security agreement, the Presidential Office reported.

21:08 Zelensky said in an evening video message that Ukraine has been working as actively as possible with American partners in recent days in order to quickly fill the new aid package from the United States with exactly the weapons that the Ukrainian Armed Forces need: “From ATACMS and artillery, from anti-tank weapons and missiles for HIMARS to the necessary air defense and equipment." The President also said that world leaders will soon receive an invitation to the first Global Peace Summit, which will be held in Switzerland in June.

21:01 Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets confirmed that he is in Qatar for negotiations on the return of Ukrainian children. At the same time, he denied information about direct negotiations with the Russian Federation: “The return of Ukrainian children and negotiations with the Russian Federation are taking place through the mediation of Qatar and Qatari diplomats. No direct negotiations took place with the Russian delegation today.”

20:45 Pentagon Speaker Garron Garn confirmed that Ukraine has already received ATACMS missiles. He said Biden secretly approved the transfer of the missiles in February for use inside Ukraine, after which ATACMS were quietly included in a $300 million aid package announced on March 12. They were delivered to Ukraine in early April.

20:27 Shoigu’s closest ally, Deputy Minister of Defense Timur Ivanov, was detained in Russia. Officially, he is accused of corruption, but the media already has information that the associate of the head of the Russian Defense Ministry may be charged with treason. Ukrainian media write, citing sources, that the reason for Ivanov’s detention and arrest was the active measures of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. So, a month ago, the Main Intelligence Directorate carried out a successful cyber attack and gained access to a significant amount of confidential information and Ivanov’s official documents. Read more in the article Big Scandal in the Russian Federation.

20:03 The United States has secretly sent long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine in recent weeks, and Ukraine used them for the first time last week, Reuters and AP report, citing US officials. According to them, the missiles were part of a $300 million military aid package to Kyiv that Biden approved in March. They were first used on the morning of April 17 against a military airfield in Crimea.

19:28 The Ministry of Defense said that the new US aid package, worth almost $61 billion, "will be decisive in strengthening Ukraine's ability to protect its independence and sovereignty, as well as in supporting global peace."

19:09 The drone coalition chaired by Latvia has already collected almost 500 million euros, Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds said. According to him, Denmark and the Netherlands announced a joint purchase of drones for Ukraine for 400 million euros. Canada also allocated 70 million euros, another 3 million - Lithuania, and Latvia - at least 10 million euros. “And this is just the beginning. Active negotiations with other countries of the unmanned coalition continue,” the minister added.

18:54 Russia wants to disrupt the Peace Summit, Zelensky said during a meeting with representatives of partner states and international organizations: “We have accurate information from intelligence, specific data that Russia not only wants to disrupt the Peace Summit, but also has a specific plan, how to do this: how to reduce the participation of countries, how to act so that there is no peace even longer.”

18:48 The Pentagon announced the contents of the new aid package for Ukraine:

  • air defense missiles RIM-7 and AIM-9M;

  • Stinger MANPADS;

  • small arms and additional small arms ammunition, including .50 caliber anti-drone ammunition;

  • explosive ammunition for destroying obstacles;

  • night-vision devices;

  • spare parts, field equipment, training ammunition, maintenance and other support equipment.

18:22 The United States will resume arms supplies to Ukraine within a few hours, Biden said. According to him, Washington will send Kyiv ammunition for air defense, artillery, missile systems and armored vehicles.

18:05 Biden said he signed a law with a package of assistance to Ukraine worth more than $60 billion.

17:44 Kuleba said that no single package of military assistance can stop Russia - this requires a united front of all of Ukraine and all its partners. According to the minister, the Russian Federation is now producing approximately ten times more weapons, so the West must increase arms production, as Ukraine did. “When I see what Russia has achieved in developing its defense industrial base during two years of war, and what the West has achieved, I think that something is wrong on the part of the West. The West must realize that the era of peace in Europe is over,” - emphasized the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

17:40 Over the Sinelnikovsky district of the Dnepropetrovsk region, air defense forces shot down an X-69 missile, the Vostok Air Command reported.

17:27 The UK plans to send Paveway IV precision guided bombs to Ukraine as part of a recently announced military aid package. There is no official confirmation of this information yet, but British BBC correspondent Jonathan Bill was the first to announce the transfer. Paveway IVs were first used in Afghanistan, and in February the UK Ministry of Defense said it had used the bombs in joint US strikes against Houthi rebel positions in Yemen. What is known about these shells is in the material London is arming the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

16:58 Umerov said during a meeting with a bipartisan delegation of the US House of Representatives that the Defense Forces have liberated about 50% of the territory occupied by Russia, and with the help of additional weapons, “we will be able to protect our citizens from Russian air strikes and improve the situation on the battlefield.”

16:20 Scholz said that his position on Taurus for Ukraine has not changed. According to the Chancellor, Germany will continue to supply Ukraine with multiple launch rocket systems, since this is its “task.” At the same time, the decision on Taurus remains clear.

16:11 Russia and Ukraine for the first time held face-to-face negotiations regarding children through the mediation of Qatar, said the Children's Ombudsman of the Russian Federation Maria Lvova-Belova. According to her, negotiations took place in Doha, and an agreement was reached that 29 children would move to Ukraine and 19 to Russia.

15:49 France proposed that the European Union introduce sanctions against Russian disinformation and operations to interfere in global elections. The draft document states that "destabilizing activities carried out by Russia-linked actors have increased across Europe as the Russian regime seeks to undermine democracy, stability and the rule of law through a variety of hybrid instruments."

15:08 Contact group Ramstein will work in a new way, the Ministry of Defense reported. In particular, the new format for providing assistance will mean that now allies will help not on an individual basis, but in a coalition format, in accordance with the immediate need. A Coalition Support Office has also been created to ensure sustainable and systematic management of military assistance. The coalition format appeared back in 2023, since then eight coalitions have been created.

14:56 Ukrenergo reported that on April 24 from 18:00 to 22:00 controlled restrictions on energy supply to industrial consumers will be applied. The need to limit energy supply is a consequence of Russian massive missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian power plants, the company emphasized.

14:25 The Verkhovna Rada adopted an appeal to international institutions, parliaments and governments of foreign states, international non-governmental organizations with a call to intensify international and national efforts for the release and return to Ukraine of all captives and illegally detained citizens of Ukraine, primarily Ukrainian journalists.

13:47 The Ministry of Defense announced that it is creating a unified system for helping the wounded. Key changes include modernizing tactical medicine, updating training based on evidence-based principles, and moving to a new level of education using best international practices. The unified system of medical care for the wounded will meet the standards of NATO countries. The development of the system will also be based on the combat experience of Ukrainian doctors, who have been on the front line since 2014.

12:59 The head of the Bundestag Defense Committee, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, once again called on the German government to supply Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine: “The United States will now supply Ukraine with long-range ATACMS missiles. This is a sufficient reason to act now on the Taurus issue.”

In addition, before the meeting of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in Berlin, a faction of the opposition Christian Democratic Union (CDU) called on the head of the British government to put pressure on his German counterpart on the issue of supplying cruise missiles to Ukraine.

12:23 The UK will send Paveway IV bombs to Ukraine, BBC correspondent Jonathan Beale reports. Paveway IV is a dual-mode 230 kg GPS/laser-guided bomb with a maximum range of over 30 km depending on release altitude, speed and flight path.

11:45 At night, SBU drones hit two Rosneft oil depots in the settlements of Yartsevo and Razdoro, Smolensk region, Ukrainian media reported, citing sources. 26 thousand cubic meters of fuel were stored at these bases. Now there is an evacuation of personnel due to large-scale fires.

11:36 The Verkhovna Rada increased the number of State Border Service of Ukraine by 15 thousand military personnel. Thus, the total number of the State Border Guard Service within a year from the date of termination or lifting of martial law on the territory of Ukraine will be up to 75,000 people, including up to 67,000 military personnel.

11:06 At the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant, two oxygen units were stopped after a night UAV attack, reports the opposition Russian publication Astra. According to sources in the emergency services of the Lipetsk region, two drones crashed into the building of the NLMK oxygen station, the building was partially destroyed.

10:50 The southern defense forces clarified that Russia struck a storage site for disabled vehicles in Odessa. Thus, the enemy is trying to look for military infrastructure facilities in the rear. There were no casualties; Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen were not at the scene of the attack.

10:34 In the morning, the Russians launched a missile attack on Odessa, said Oleg Kiper, head of the OBA. Currently, one casualty is known. About 30 houses were damaged by the shock wave. The Ministry of Energy reports that as a result of the shelling in Odessa, overhead lines and substations were turned off, and some consumers were without electricity.

10:03 The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) suggests that Shoigu’s threats regarding Russia’s intentions to intensify attacks on Ukraine indicate that Moscow may change the targets of its attacks. Analysts say Russian troops are likely to step up drone and missile strikes in the coming weeks to inflict as much damage as possible on Ukraine's infrastructure and defense industrial base before U.S. aid arrives. Russian diplomat Antonov says that with its decisions the United States put an end to the fate of Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The United States, with its decisions, puts an end to the fate of Ukraine, using it as a battering ram against Russia. This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov.

Commenting on the law on providing military assistance to Ukraine signed by US President Joe Biden, Antonov said that Washington made a choice in favor of war and sided with evil, supporting fascism.

“ For the sake of its greedy and insatiable military-industrial complex, the administration sacrifices the lives of ordinary people. With their decision, local politicians are actually putting an end to the fate of the entire state, which is being used as a battering ram against Russia,” he added.

The diplomat emphasized that assistance will not save the regime of Vladimir Zelensky, since the transferred weapons will be destroyed by the Russian Armed Forces, and the goals and objectives of the special operation will be fulfilled.

As Regnum reported, on April 24, Biden signed laws approved by the US Parliament on providing military assistance to Ukraine and Israel. According to the head of the White House, the United States will resume military supplies to Ukraine in the coming hours. A day earlier, US senators approved the bill. Of the $60.84 billion allocated to help Kyiv, $23.2 billion will be used to replenish weapons transferred from Pentagon warehouses, $13.8 billion will be used for military purchases for Ukraine on the open market, and $11.3 billion will be used to provide "ongoing US military operations in the region." Previously, the bill was also supported by the House of Representatives of Congress.

The approval by the US Congress of a new large package of military assistance to the Kiev regime was an expected decision and will not fundamentally change the situation on the battlefield, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on April 22.

Washington’s allocation of financial assistance to the Kiev regime will lead to the death of several tens of thousands more residents of Ukraine, as it will prolong the conflict and expand the number of people involved in it, noted American economist Jeffrey Sachs.

American military assistance to Kiev will not stop the advance of Russian forces, since Moscow is ahead of the West in weapons production, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said earlier, calling on Western countries to increase weapons production.

In a conversation with Regnum news agency, military expert, associate professor of the department of political analysis and socio-psychological processes of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Oleg Glazunov noted that no help today can save the Kiev regime, so it does not matter when it is received.

He stressed that Ukraine cannot resist Russia. Kyiv does not have enough human resources, and no one is ready to die for someone else's interests. Those who wanted to die for nationalist Ukrainian values have already died or been defeated. Russia is superior to Ukraine in military-technical terms, Russian aviation dominates the air, and this is obvious, Glazunov added.

Zakharova said that the United States is increasing Zelensky’s terrorist potential

Washington’s plan to develop the conflict in Ukraine is to, under the pretext of peaceful intentions, “drag everyone to an empty meeting” in Switzerland, and in the meantime increase the terrorist potential of the Kiev regime, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on April 24.

This is how she commented on American media reports, the sources of which confirmed the transfer to Kyiv of ATACMS extended-range operational-tactical missiles for use “within sovereign Ukrainian territory,” that is, including for attacks on the territory of Crimea, Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

“And this is all against the backdrop of the annoying attempts of the Anglo-Saxons and the Kyiv regime to deceive the world community into some conferences on the “Zelensky formula.” The world majority should know what kind of crap the Americans have in their pockets. Washington’s plan is sickeningly simple: to drag everyone under the pretext of “peaceful intentions” to an empty meeting, while they themselves increase Zelensky’s terrorist potential,” Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel.

As reported by Regnum news agency, according to Reuters, the missiles were transferred to Kiev back in March 2024 “without public disclosure.” They have been used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces twice already, including to carry out strikes on Crimea, the publication noted.

On April 24, US President Joseph Biden signed laws approved by the country's parliament on providing military assistance to Ukraine and Israel. Washington will resume military supplies to Kyiv “in the coming hours,” he said.

On April 10, the Swiss government announced that a conference on Ukraine would be held in the city of Bürgenstock in June 2024. Zakharova noted that Russia will not participate in this conference. Holding the forum makes no sense, since it is supposed to be devoted to promoting the ultimatum “Zelensky formula”; moreover, Switzerland cannot serve as a platform for a peacekeeping summit - this presupposes a neutral status, which Switzerland has lost, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized.

The Kremlin and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have repeatedly noted that Russia is ready for a peaceful resolution of the situation in Ukraine, provided that all the requirements set before the start of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization are met, and subject to the recognition of new territorial realities - the return of four regions to Russia in 2022, emphasizing that otherwise The SVO will continue. Moscow is ready to negotiate on Ukraine, but since Kiev cannot be trusted, even if a dialogue begins, there will be no pause in the conduct of hostilities, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted earlier.

In 2024, three Angara launches are planned from the Plesetsk cosmodrome.
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] In 2024, it is planned to carry out three launches of the Angara rocket from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, said Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

On April 24, Shoigu inspected the progress of construction and modernization of the cosmodrome’s infrastructure facilities, the press service of the Ministry of Defense informed.

During the meeting, the head of the Ministry of Defense noted that the creation of an infrastructure at the cosmodrome has been completed that provides launches of Angara launch vehicles of heavy and light classes with upper stages for launching spacecraft into all types of orbit in the interests of the military department.

“Six launches of these missiles have already been successfully carried out. This year it is planned to carry out three more launches of launch vehicles of this class,” Shoigu said.

As Regnum reported, on April 11, the Angara-A5 rocket launched for the first time from the Vostochny Cosmodrome. Angara-A5 has already made test flights, this launch was the fourth, but all previous ones took place from the Plesetsk cosmodrome. At Vostochny, the construction of the launch complex for the Angara series rockets was completed.

The launch of Angara is a landmark event, indicating a new stage in the development of the space industry in Russia, noted Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The successful launch of the Angara-A5 heavy launch vehicle is a major achievement as part of the implementation of the course to strengthen Russia’s technological sovereignty, political scientist and EISI expert Alexander Rudakov said earlier in an interview with Regnum.

Shoigu announced tests of the Rokot launch vehicle in December 2024

Tests of the Rokot rocket and space complex will take place in December this year, said Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

According to the head of the Ministry of Defense, six launches of these missiles have already been successfully carried out. This year it is planned to carry out three more launches of launch vehicles of this class.

“ With the completion of the modernization of the second launch complex of Soyuz launch vehicles, the cosmodrome’s capabilities to support spacecraft launches will double. Work is underway to modernize the Rokot light-class rocket and space complex, testing of which is planned to begin in December of this year,” Shoigu said.

As Regnum reported, in April last year, the director of the M.V. Khrunichev Center, Alexey Varochko, reported that Russia had begun manufacturing some elements of the first Rokot-M launch vehicle with a domestic control system instead of the Ukrainian one.

The liquid three-stage launch vehicle "Rokot" was developed at the Center. Khrunichev in the 1980s. The first test launch took place in November 1990. Initially, these missiles used components produced in Ukraine. In 2019, the Russian Ministry of Defense stopped operating Rokot launch vehicles. The modernized Rokot-M missile is equipped only with domestically produced systems.

At the same time, the head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, on April 22 at the opening of the cosmonaut preliminary training program created by the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) together with the Cosmonaut Training Center. Yu. A. Gagarin, said that at the Vostochny cosmodrome they can build infrastructure for the promising returnable launch vehicle “Crown”.

Not good. Why you shouldn’t recognize Ukraine as a terrorist state
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Gevorg Mitzayan

[REGNUM] “Ukraine must be recognized as a terrorist state”: this demand was regularly heard in Russian society. And after the terrorist attack at Crocus it began to sound even more often. Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko actually gave the answer in an interview with journalist Dmitry Kiselyov. It is impossible to recognize Ukraine as a terrorist state, Matvienko noted, since there is no such concept in international law. But the Kiev regime, according to her, is terrorist - there is no doubt about that.

Biden signs aid package with $17B for Israel, $1B extra humanitarian aid for Gazans
Follow up to this story from yesterday.
[IsraelTimes] This means ’Iran can never carry out the destruction it intended 10 days ago,’ says president; vows to ’surge’ aid ’to the innocent people of Gaza’; $95B bill helps Ukraine, Taiwan
Evidently nothing available for US border security.
United States President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass....
signed into law on Wednesday a $95 billion war aid measure that includes assistance for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, and that also has a provision that would force social media site TikTok to be sold or be banned in the US.

Biden underscored that the bill also includes a surge of humanitarian relief for Paleostinians in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
suffering as the Israel-Hamas
...the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
war continues.

The legislation will send $17 billion in wartime assistance to Israel and $9 billion in humanitarian relief to citizens of Gaza and other war-torn regions — with Biden specifying at a White House event to announce the signing on Wednesday that the package "includes $1 billion for additional humanitarian aid in Gaza."

Another $8 billion will go to counter Chinese threats in Taiwan and the Indo-Pacific. US officials said about $1 billion of the aid could be on its way shortly, with the bulk following in the coming weeks.

Addressing the aid component for Israel, Biden noted that Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Sturmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Fuhrer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
launched an unprecedented direct missile and drone attack at Israel just days ago, but thanks to Israel’s defenses, "and other allies across the world, including from the region, no serious damage occurred."

"My commitment to Israel, I want to make clear again, is ironclad," he stressed. "The security of Israel is critical. I will always make sure that Israel has what it needs to defend itself against Iran and gunnies it supports."

The aid for Israel in the package, he said, "can help replenish Israel’s air defense and provide other critical defense so Iran can never carry out the destruction it intended with its attack 10 days ago."

Biden also said Israel must ensure the aid for Paleostinians in the bill reaches Gaza "without delay."

He noted that the package "significantly increases humanitarian assistance we’re sending to the innocent people of Gaza, who are suffering badly. They’re suffering the consequences of this war that Hamas started. And we’ve been working intently for months to get as much aid to Gaza as possible."

He said that the bill "includes $1 billion for additional humanitarian aid in Gaza. We’re going to immediately secure that aid and surge it — surge it, including food, medical supplies, clean water. And Israel must make sure all this aid reaches the Paleostinians in Gaza without delay."

Biden noted that "everything we do is guided by the ultimate goal of bringing these hostages [held by Hamas in Gaza] home, securing a ceasefire, and setting the conditions for an enduring peace."

The war in Gaza erupted on October 7 when the Paleostinian terror group Hamas led a devastating cross-border attack on Israel that killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians. Israel responded with a military campaign to destroy Hamas and free 253 hostages kidnapped during the attack. The fighting has led to a humanitarian crisis in Gaza as aid workers struggle to deliver supplies.

The signing of the war aid measure marks an end to a long, painful battle with Republicans in Congress over urgently needed assistance for Ukraine.

"We rose to the moment, we came together, and we got it done," Biden said. "Now we need to move fast, and we are."

Tucked into the measure is a provision that gives TikTok’s Beijing-based parent company, ByteDance, nine months to sell it or face a nationwide prohibition in the United States. The president can grant a one-time extension of 90 days, bringing the timeline to sell to one year, if he certifies that there’s a path to divestiture and "significant progress" toward executing it.

The administration and a bipartisan group of politicians have called the social media site a growing national security concern.

TikTok said it will wage a legal challenge against what it called an "unconstitutional" effort by Congress.

"We believe the facts and the law are clearly on our side, and we will ultimately prevail," the company said in a statement. "The fact is, we have invested billions of dollars to keep US data safe and our platform free from outside influence and manipulation. This ban would devastate seven million businesses and silence 170 million Americans."

House Speaker Mike Johnson delayed a vote on the supplemental aid package for months as members of his party’s far right wing, including Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Thomas Massie of Kentucky, threatened to move to oust him if he allowed a vote to send more assistance to Ukraine. Those threats persist.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell suggested his fellow Republicans’ holding up the funding could have a lasting impact on Ukraine’s hopes of winning the war.

"Make no mistake: Delay in providing Ukraine the weapons to defend itself has strained the prospects of defeating Russian aggression," McConnell said Tuesday. "Dithering and hesitation have compounded the challenges we face."

Russian diplomats visited a sailor on the MSC Aries ship detained by Iran
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Russian diplomats visited the MSC Aries ship detained in Iran, where they met with a sailor from the Russian Federation Timofey Kolchanov, the press service of the Russian Embassy in Iran reported on April 24 in its Telegram channel.

“Today, diplomats from the Russian Embassy in Iran visited the MSC Aries ship detained by the Iranian military, where they met with crew member T. S. Kolchanov. The Russian sailor is healthy, the conditions of his stay are satisfactory, he is provided with everything necessary, and, etc., has the opportunity to regularly communicate with his family by phone,” the message says.

The embassy clarified that the Iranian side again confirmed that, from the point of view of local laws, it has no claims against the crew. According to Iranian authorities, the Russian sailor will be able to leave the ship with the permission of its captain.

“This will most likely occur during a crew change, which is currently being prepared,” the embassy said in a statement.

As Regnum reported, the naval forces of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps captured the MSC Aries on April 13. According to the vessel's operator, there was a crew of 25 people.

On April 14, the Russian Embassy in Iran announced that it was clarifying the details of the presence of a Russian citizen on board the MSC Aries to provide him with consular assistance, and was also in contact with the sailor’s relatives.

On the same day it became known that Kolchanov called his family. He said that the situation should be resolved soon. The sailor called from an unknown phone, the conversation lasted eight seconds, then the connection was interrupted.

Vice-President of the International Human Rights Committee Ivan Melnikov sent a note of protest to Iran. He called for the sailors to be released and the Russians to be helped to return to their homeland. The social activist accompanied the appeal with lines from the collection of hadiths (traditions) of the Prophet Muhammad, which says that it is necessary to free those who are experiencing difficulties.

On April 16, Tehran informed that it would not create obstacles to the return of the Russian sailor from the detained ship to his homeland.

'Post-war restoration of Ukraine': pleasant noise that helps to steal
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Denis Davydov

[REGNUM] They started talking about the restoration of Ukraine “after the war” almost from the first days of its beginning - everyone wanted to be in time for the distribution of aid, which, as expected, the allies would have to generously allocate. No one doubted their noble desire to help, because at first, state PR was able to convince everyone that victory was close and the Ukrainian army was saving Europe from the savage hordes from the east. Therefore, “recovery funds” organized by the state, big business, oligarchs and business communities appeared like mushrooms after rain.

Israel fumes as UN secretary-general leaves Hamas off sexual violence blacklist
[IsraelTimes] Foreign Ministry denounces UN chief as ’standing shoulder to shoulder with rapists and murderers,’ asserts Antonio Guterres would not have condemned crimes of Nazi Germany either

Foreign Minister Israel Katz accused United Nations

Secretary-General António Guterres
...Portuguese politician and diplomat, ninth Secretary-General of the United Nations. Previously, he was the UN High Commissioner for Refugees between 2005 and 2015. He was the Prime Minister of Portugal from 1995 to 2002 and was the Secretary-General of the Socialist Party from 1992 to 2002. He served as President of the Socialist International from 1999 to 2005. In both a 2012 and 2014 poll, the Portuguese public ranked him as the best Prime Minister of the previous 30 years...
of standing "shoulder to shoulder with the rapists and murderers of Hamas
...the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
" for declining to include the terror group in a report published Tuesday on organizations suspected by the UN of committing acts of sexual violence during conflict. The document, titled "Conflict-related sexual violence," and published as a "Report of the Secretary-General," noted there is evidence that sex crimes were committed during the Paleostinian terror group Hamas’s devastating October 7 attack on Israel, but did not specifically attribute responsibility to Hamas.

The ministry elaborated in the statement that Guterres ignored "the plethora of testimony and evidence that was collected and then included in the report of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict Pramila Patten."

Patten’s report after her visit to Israel found that rape likely occurred during the Hamas attacks, and said there was convincing evidence hostages were facing sexual abuse in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks.
In his report, Guterres referenced Patten’s assessment, but noted that it, "not being investigative in nature and given its limited duration, did not draw conclusions on attribution to specific gangs or determine prevalence of incidents of conflict-related sexual violence during and after the attacks of 7 October. Such a determination would require a fully-fledged investigation."

Guterres, fumed Katz, refused to acknowledge Hamas’s responsibility for the grave sexual crimes that appear in the Patten report and to declare it a terrorist organization.

"I am convinced that if the crimes of the Nazi regime had come up for discussion during his tenure, he would have refused to condemn them as well, if his political interests demanded that," the minister said in a statement published by the Foreign Ministry. "Guterres has turned the UN into an extremely antisemitic and anti-Israel institution, and his time in office will be remembered as the darkest in the organization’s history."

On October 7, the Paleostinian terror group Hamas led a massive cross-border attack on Israel that killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians, amid numerous atrocities. Some 3,000 attackers burst through the boundary with the Gaza Strip to rampage murderously through southern Israel amid widespread gang rape, torture and mutilation of victims, according to numerous witnesses and robust evidence. Terrorists also kidnapped 253 people of all ages who were taken as hostages in Gaza.

Patten, the UN’s envoy on sex crimes during conflict, last month presented a report at the UN indicating that rape and gang rape likely occurred during the October 7 Hamas onslaught, that "clear and convincing" evidence shows that hostages were raped while being held in Gaza, and that those currently held captive are still facing such abuse.

While Patten’s report "explicitly recognized the connection between Hamas’s October 7th attack and the horrific acts of sexual violence that were carried out in a systematic and deliberate manner," the ministry said, "the UN secretary-general refrained from attributing responsibility to the Hamas terrorist organization. This report constitutes a miserable and tragic testimony to the inadequacy of the functioning of the UN and its leader since October 7th, and it provides encouragement to terrorism and violence."

The Ynet outlet, in an unsourced report, said Israeli representatives spoke with UN officials about Hamas not being blacklisted and were told that there is a process to include an organization in the roster that involves identifying a trend and then specific cases. UN officials also pointed out that there has not yet been a full investigation of the October 7 attacks and asserted that it was not possible to determine if Hamas planned sexual crimes as part of its attack, or if they were carried out spontaneously by individuals, including Gazooks who entered Israel while trailing the attacking terrorists.

Patten delivered her own remarks Tuesday to the Security Council in a debate on "Preventing conflict-related sexual violence through demilitarization and gender-responsive arms control."

In her address, Patten noted that, for the first time, the secretary-general’s conflict-related sexual violence report included a section on Israel and the Paleostinian territories. She reiterated her findings: "Following the 7th of October attacks by Hamas, other gangs, and armed civilians, I visited Israel at the invitation of the government. My team and I confirmed that there are reasonable grounds to believe that conflict-related sexual violence occurred in at least three locations, and that sexual violence has been committed against individuals held as hostages and may be ongoing."

"Regarding the occupied West Bank, according to UN-verified information, the arrests and detention of Paleostinian women and men by Israeli security forces, following the 7th of October attacks, have often been accompanied by ill-treatment, including forms of sexual violence. Similar allegations have emerged from Gaza," she said.

Before Guterres’s report was published, Israel’s envoy to the UN Gilad Erdan sent a letter to the secretary-general in which he expressed "Israel’s disappointment and shock" that Hamas was not on the blacklist, according to Hebrew media reports on the missive.

Erdan said that Israel sees the inclusion of Hamas as "an inevitable result of the Patten report" and urged Guterres to "re-examine your position, include Hamas in the aforementioned list and clearly attribute the responsibility for October 7, and the sexual violence that followed, to Hamas."

Regarding the allegations of inappropriate behavior toward Paleostinians in detention, Erdan said they are being investigated according to procedure, but also cast doubt on their veracity.

"These allegations were made in a clear attempt to ’balance’ the heinous crimes of Hamas with inappropriate behavior by Israel, apparently for purely political reasons," he argued.

"The brutality and sexual violence of Hamas have been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt and any attempt to compare the sexual barbarism of hard boyz with accusations against the law-abiding state of Israel is immoral and despicable," he added.

IDF hits 40 Hezbollah sites; Gallant says group’s south Lebanon command decimated

[IsraelTimes] Fighter jets, artillery target weapon depots, assets in Ayta ash-Shab amid incessant attacks, including missile fire on Avivim

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Wednesday claimed that the military had killed half of Hezbollah’s commanders in southern Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
, as the Israel Defense Forces carried out a large wave of strikes against dozens of sites belonging to the terror group.

"Half of the Hezbollah commanders in south Lebanon have been eliminated... and the other half hide and abandon south Lebanon to IDF operations," Gallant said, after holding an assessment at the Northern Command headquarters in Safed with the chief of the command, Maj. Gen. Ori Gordin, and other top officers.

He said Israel’s main goal in the north was to return tens of thousands of Israelis displaced by Hezbollah’s daily attacks to their homes.

"We are dealing with a number of alternatives in order to establish this matter, and the coming period will be decisive in this regard," Gallant said.

As the defense minister toured the Northern Command, the IDF said some 40 Hezbollah targets in the town of Ayta ash-Shab were hit within just several minutes by fighter jets and artillery shelling.

The wave of strikes came hours after the terror group fired anti-tank missiles at a community in northern Israel.

The military said the targets included weapon depots and other assets belonging to Hezbollah, and charged that Ayta ash-Shab was used by the group for "terror" and that it places dozens of its sites in the area.

In a statement, the IDF said the strikes were "part of the effort to destroy the organization’s infrastructure in the border area," and not a response to any specific attack.

Ahead of the strikes, the military issued an unusual statement announcing that it had begun to attack Hezbollah targets in south Lebanon. Amid the ongoing war, the military has generally announced strikes in Lebanon only after they have been completed. The announcement indicated that the strikes were on a much larger scale than usual.

Hours before the wave of strikes, Hezbollah fired several anti-tank guided missiles at the northern community of Avivim, striking two homes and causing a fire.

The Merom HaGalil Regional Council, which has jurisdiction over Avivim, said the missiles caused no injuries.

Hezbollah claimed the attack in a statement, saying it "targeted a building in Avivim in which ’enemy soldiers’ were present."

The missile attack on Avivim came after a wave of overnight Israeli Air Force strikes against Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, following repeated attacks by the Iran-backed terror group on northern Israel.

The overnight strikes targeted a rocket launcher in the town of Tayr Harfa after it was used in an attack on the northern community of Shomera on Tuesday night, the IDF said.

The IDF said additional targets included Hezbollah infrastructure in Markaba, a building in Ayta ash-Shab and an observation post in Marwahin.

Troops also shelled areas near Chihine and Kfarchouba with artillery to "remove threats," the military added.

Since October 8, Hezbollah-led forces have attacked Israeli communities and military posts along the border on a near-daily basis, with the group saying it is doing so to support Gazoo

amid the war there.

So far, the skirmishes on the border have resulted in eight civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of 11 IDF soldiers and reservists. There have also been several attacks from Syria, without any injuries.

Hezbollah has named 287 members who have been killed by Israel during the ongoing skirmishes, mostly in Lebanon, but some also in Syria. In Lebanon, another 54 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier and at least 60 civilians, three of whom were journalists, have been killed.

[VK] Let us add details about the arrest of Timur Ivanov, Shoigu’s deputy, who was sent to the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center for two months.

Our source in law enforcement agencies reports that since the beginning of the SVO, Timur Ivanov has acquired a large amount of real estate on Rublyovka. He bought it in packs, at a huge discount - taking advantage of the fact that many residents of Rublyovka were urgently selling their property when leaving the country.

But even with a large discount, the amounts spent by Ivanov on Rublev real estate in no way correspond to his salary. In addition, he completed the most luxurious renovations at his “dacha,” which is a huge mansion. And this also does not fit into official income.

Timur Ivanov is accused of receiving a large bribe, but there is a suspicion that this is just the tip of the iceberg. He was responsible for organizing property management for the cantonment of troops, housing and medical support for the Armed Forces, and also oversaw the purchase of goods and services under the state defense order and to meet the needs of the RF Armed Forces.

In general, while grannies are knitting socks for soldiers at the front, Shoigu’s deputy has been buying up real estate in Rublyovka for two years.

Two years. But something seems to be changing in the country. The clan war is gaining momentum.
Dunno what Gospozha Vasilyeva means by clan wars.

❗Paper Snake writes:

️Interestingly, people lived absolutely without hiding, but even emphasizing their elitism and inviolability. He did not hide any accounts or property. The people have only one question:

If everyone above Ivanov was happy with everything, then what suddenly stopped?

There was information in the media yesterday that the dude has been in development since 2018. It can be assumed that everyone else who considers themselves an elite is also under surveillance.

By the way, I came up with a PR move for Shoigu. It is necessary to report from the TV that it was he who suspected a dishonest subordinate of embezzlement and the creation of an organized crime group, fulfilled his civic duty and asked the special services to take care of this hornet's nest. Checkmate, people of Russia.

Returning to a serious course, you understand that, through the fault of the Ivanovs and co., Russia entered the North Military District in a state of logistical fucked up. Which was pulled out and is still being pulled out at the expense of volunteers, the people of the country.

Because the people sympathize with the fighters and wish a speedy Victory for Russia, and the embezzlers want a thicker cutlet and a bigger house on the Ruble, or better yet in Nice. They don't care about the soldiers or about Victory. In their personal struggle with financial flows, they, in their opinion, have already defeated everyone.

Fortunately, many security officials have a different opinion. Work, brothers.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran reduced its military presence in Syria following Israeli attacks against some of its military leaders

"They only have a representative office in Damascus through which communication with Syria and its allies in the region is carried out."
The Times of Israel adds:
Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
has reduced its military footprint in Syria after a succession of strikes blamed on Israel, a source close to Iran-backed terror group Hezbollah and a war monitor said Wednesday.

Iran has provided military support to Syrian government forces through more than a decade of civil war, but a series of strikes targeting its commanders in recent months has prompted a reshaping of its presence, the sources said.

"Iran withdrew its forces from southern Syria," including both Quneitra and Daraa provinces, which abut the Israeli-held Golan Heights, the source close to Hezbollah said.

But it still maintains a presence in other parts of the country, the source added.

Recent months have seen a series of strikes on Iranian targets in Syria, widely blamed on Israel, culminating in an April 1 strike that leveled what Iran said was a consulate in Damascus and killed seven Revolutionary Guards, two of them generals.

That strike prompted Iran to launch a first-ever direct missile and drone attack against Israel on April 13-14 that sent regional tensions spiraling. Israel allegedly responded with a missile strike on an Iranian air defense unit inside Iran.

But Iran had already begun drawing down its forces after a January 20 strike that killed five Revolutionary Guards in Damascus, including their Syria intelligence chief and his deputy, the source close to Hezbollah said.

A Britannia-based war monitor, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said Iranian forces had withdrawn from Damascus and southern Syria.

Iran-backed Lebanese and Iraqi fighters had taken their place, Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said.

Iran has said repeatedly that it has no combat troops in Syria, only officers to provide military advice and training. But the Observatory, which is of unclear funding, says as many as 3,000 Iranian military personnel are present in Syria, supported by tens of thousands of Iranian-trained fighters from countries including Leb

The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Abdel Rahman said that many of Iran’s advisers had left Syria in recent months, especially after a strike in March killed a Revolutionary Guard and two others — although some remained in Aleppo province in the north and Deir Ezzor province in the east.

People who have recently traveled to Damascus told AFP Iran’s presence had become less visible in the Syrian capital, with several Iranian army offices in its Old City now closed. The Iranian flags and portraits of Iran’s leaders that hung in parts of Damascus have mostly disappeared, they added.

Now, the Iranian presence was visible only in Sayyida Zeinab, an important Shiite pilgrimage destination in the city’s southern outskirts, they said.
