US attorney recommends proceeding with charges against McCabe
[FOXNEWS] U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu has recommended moving forward with charges against CNN contributor Andrew McCabe, Fox News has learned, as the Justice Department rejects a last-ditch appeal from the former top FBI official.
McCabe -- the former deputy and acting director of the FBI -- appealed the decision of the U.S. attorney for Washington all the way up to Jeffrey Rosen, the deputy attorney general, but he rejected that request, according to a person familiar with the situation.
The potential charges relate to DOJ inspector general findings against him regarding misleading statements concerning a -related investigation.
A source close to McCabe’s legal team said they received an email from the Department of Justice which said, "The Department rejected your appeal of the United States Attorney’s Office’s decision in this matter. Any further inquiries should be directed to the United States Attorney’s Office."
McCabe spent 21 years with the FBI. He became the acting director in May 2017 after President Trump fired former director Last month, a source close to the process told Fox News that McCabe had a "target on his back" because of the Justice Department inspector general findings.
Black robed tyrant tells White House to reinstate reporter's pass
[Politico] A judge has blocked the White House’s decision to revoke the press pass of Playboy correspondent Brian Karem over a Rose Garden showdown in July with former White House aide Sebastian Gorka.
U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras issued a decision Tuesday evening granting a preliminary injunction restoring Karem’s so-called "hard pass" on the grounds that the reporter had no clear notice of the rules governing press behavior at events like the presidential appearance that preceded the heated exchange.
Contreras is a Soetoro appointee and FISA court judge, in case you missed it in the comment string.
In imposing a 30-day suspension last month, White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said Karem’s behavior had violated widely accepted standards of "professionalism" and "decorum." She also argued that the White House made those standards clear last November following an incident involving an effort by CNN White House reporter Jim Acosta to hang on to a microphone as a press aide sought to take it away.

Lindsey Graham presses DOJ to declassify Carter Page FISA process
[Washington Insider] Sen. Lindsey Graham is asking the Justice Department to declassify material related to Inspector General Michael Horowitz's investigation into alleged abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
The South Carolina Republican's letter sent to Attorney General William Barr was discussed during an interview Monday on Fox News.
Asked what he wants to know, Graham said, "As much declassification as possible. I want the public to see the process in real time. I want the FISA warrant applications to be revealed to the public as much as possible."

DOJ inspector general found all four Carter Page FISA warrants were illegally obtained, Joe diGenova says
[Washington Examiner] The Justice Department inspector general has determined all four Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants against onetime Trump campaign aide Carter Page were illegally obtained, attorney Joe diGenova said this week.
And the black robed tyrants who rubber stamped each application, what about those fellas ?
In an investigation that began last year, Inspector General Michael Horowitz examined the Justice Department's and FBI's compliance with legal requirements as well as policies and procedures in applications filed with the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court related to Page as part of a larger counterintelligence inquiry into President Trump's campaign.
Back in May, diGenova, a former U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, said the three FISA warrant extensions against Page were illegally obtained, adding "the only question now is whether or not the first FISA was illegally obtained."
One follow-on question please. Was Carter Page aware of his role as a Trump campaign FBI source? While he's playing the victom now, I'd reckon he was keenly aware of his clandestine role.
Now diGenova says Horowitz made the same determination about the warrant that started it all.
"I can report categorically that the inspector general has found that all four FISA warrants were illegal. They were based on false information supplied to the FISA Court. And Michael Horowitz has concluded that all four FISA warrants were illegal," he told WMAL on Monday.
The announcement comes days after The Hill's John Solomon reported Horowitz had completed his investigation and, after a declassification period, could be released sometime between mid-September to early October.
DiGenova previously said memos, obtained by conservative group Citizens United through open-records litigation, suggest the FBI might have misled the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court in the first warrant application about an unverified dossier.
The dossier, compiled by British ex-spy Christopher Steele, contained salacious and unverified claims about Trump's ties to Russia. It was used by the FBI to obtain the authority to wiretap Page, an American who had suspicious connections to the Russians. The first warrant application was submitted in October 2016, after which there were three renewals at three-month intervals, including in January, April, and June 2017.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that would be....non-US citizen Christopher Steele, AMIRITE? Are there no rules regarding such evidence and sources? Is the seldom mentioned '18 U.S. Code § 3491. Foreign documents' applicable ?
The warrant applications were approved by a number of high-ranking officials, including former FBI Director James Comey, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, and former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates.
All recently revealed as the Bernie and Ruth Madoff's of the FBI and Justice system.
The memos obtained by Citizens United, and shared with the Washington Examiner, show Steele met with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec on Oct. 11 and admitted he was encouraged by a client to get his research out before the 2016 election, signaling a possible political motivation. The timing of the meeting is notable, as it was 10 days before the FBI used Steele's unverified dossier to obtain the original warrant to wiretap Page.
DiGenova served as an independent counsel in the 1990s for a case on former President Bill Clinton's passport before he was elected. Last year, it was announced diGenova and his wife and legal partner Victoria Toensing were joining Trump's legal team for the federal Russia investigation, but that plan was nixed within days. He had been highly critical of Mueller's Russia investigation, claiming that Trump had been "framed" by the Justice Department and the FBI, and has spread conspiracy theories about it.
But diGenova appears to have some knowledgeable sources.
While the rest of us struggle, Joe and Victoria maintain their finely tuned mental acuity by working difficult legal-term crossword puzzles and engaging in rapid fire, single digit math problems.
In April he said a "bombshell" report on Comey was imminent that included criminal referrals. Although diGenova's expectation for the report's release in two weeks was off the mark, Comey was criminally referred for his memos memorializing his conversations with Trump. The Justice Department declined to prosecute. In a piece published Wednesday, the Washington Examiner's Byron York confirmed with sources that Horowitz is preparing to release a report on Comey's conduct in the Trump-Russia investigation, separate from the report on alleged FISA abuses.

U.S. Intel Gatekeeper Dragging Feet on Trump-Russia Files, Insiders Say
[Real Clear Investigations] More than three months after President Trump granted his attorney general unprecedented power to declassify intelligence files, key U.S. intelligence agencies are still withholding documents related to the Trump-Russia affair, say people with direct knowledge of White House discussions on the subject.
The source of the logjam: the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which Trump is in the process of shaking up after the resignations last month of its director, Dan Coats, and principal deputy, Sue Gordon. "Establishment" officials in that agency are still dragging their feet, say the sources, who spoke on condition that they not be further identified.
Sources who have seen the documents generally described their contents to RealClearInvestigations. They said the material still under wraps includes:
The transcripts "demonstrate who was lying and expose the bias that existed against Trump before and after his election," said Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) of the House Judiciary Committee. They also reportedly contain evidence of a Democratic National Committee attorney maintaining Russia-related contacts with the CIA during the 2016 campaign.

Focus in Spygate Scandal Shifts to CIA, Former Director Brennan
[Epoch Times] More than 2 1/2 years after President Donald Trump assumed office, focus on actions taken during the 2016 presidential campaign is starting to shift toward the CIA and its former director, John Brennan.
While some observers, including this publication, have pointed out for more than a year that Brennan appears to have played a key role in the scandal that’s become known as Spygate, actions taken by Brennan and the CIA now appear to have become a central focus of investigators.
That would be the ventriloquist on the right in the graphic.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo that Justice Department Inspector General (IG) Michael Horowitz was "doing a very in-depth dive about the FISA warrant application" and "the behavior regarding the counterintelligence operation."
Graham noted that he believed Horowitz’s report would be coming out in "weeks‐not days, not months" and would prove to be "ugly and damning regarding the Department of Justice’s handling of the Russian probe." Graham noted that the IG’s report has been delayed because "every time you turn around, you find something new."
Graham said he wants the IG’s report to be as declassified as possible in order for the "American public to hear the story."

John Solomon: FBI Knowingly Misled FISA Court (video)
[Gateway Pundit] Investigative reporter John Solomon from The Hill joined Lou Dobbs on Monday night to discuss the upcoming release of the Inspector General’s report on the origins of the Trump collusion spying scandal.
John Solomon told Lou Dobbs the report should come out in early to mid-September to early October.
John Solomon: I think where we are going to go next is the emergence of very strong evidence that the FBI knowingly and willfully misled the FISA Court. And the US intelligence agencies may have also been involved in what Bill Barr calls "political surveillance." It’s a term I’ve never heard before. He chooses his words clearly. The term ’political surveillance" could become very popular this fall.

The White Supremacy Hoax
[American Greatness] The specter of white supremacy haunts America. Let us empower the government to crush it.
Just yesterday, "the deplorables" were to be deplored because they were "racist, sexist, homophobic," clingers to "God and guns," and Russian dupes to boot. Today, the agility and unanimity with which our politicians and media‐heck, the ruling class‐have shifted to indicting roughly 72 percent of the population as white supremacists, likely violent, would fill with envy their homologues in China, Cuba, North Korea, and other tyrannical places. By comparison, Joseph Goebbels had sloppy message discipline. Not even the Soviets in their salad days were so "on message!"
One may suppose that our ruling class merely intends to energize its constituencies and cower the opposition in the 2020 elections. But this is no game. Their proposals would impose pre-punishment for pre-crimes on persons accused or "suspected" of being a "white supremacist." By whom? On the basis of what?
In practice, a "white supremacist" is anyone whom anyone in power dislikes enough to so label him. Who would accept being outlawed at will? Our ruling class plays with matches in a house drenched in gasoline.
Here is the latest. The Wall Street Journal on Saturday featured an essay by one Clint Watts, formerly of the FBI and West Point’s Counter Terrorism Center. Watts makes those proposals using the word "white" 16 times in 18 paragraphs. The sociopolitical ideas rife among white people are the main matrix of terrorism in America, Watts contends. Racial profiling, anyone?
Bemoaning the fact that U.S. law now restricts surveillance of, never mind restrictions on, U.S. persons to those who have committed or may be about to commit crimes, Watts proposes legislation that would permit designating persons associated with what the government may identify as "white supremacist ideology" as subject to surveillance to "preemptively assess whether these white supremacists are taking a radical turn toward violence."
Watts also proposes "red flag" laws, that would allow the government to take away weapons from someone so designated. Loss of weapons would be the least of burdens imposed on anyone so "red-flagged." Career, reputation, possibly family, would be gone because someone in the notoriously impartial FBI so decided, perhaps with the agreement of the highly scrupulous FISA court, subsequent to ex parte, secret proceedings.

Barr rips ‘prancing punks’ who doused cops with water
[NYPOST] Attorney General Bill Barr on Monday denounced the "prancing punks" who doused NYPD cops with water during a speech in which he condemned those who disrespect cops.
"We were all nauseated by the spectacle of prancing punks pelting New York with water and plastic buckets. Unfortunately, these were not isolated events. From 2014 through 2017, there has been a 20 percent increase in assaults against police, up to about 60,000 per year," Barr said at the National Fraternal Order of Police’s conference in New Orleans.
Several people have been busted in the Big Apple this summer for dousing cops with water.
Barr then praised for the job they do.
"To my mind, there is no more noble profession than serving as a police officer. You put your own life and well-being on the line to protect your communities," the nation’s top law enforcement official said.
"Your families spend anxious nights, so we can sleep in peace. You never know what your day may bring ‐ what uncertainty, danger, or threat you might face. But you still get up, put on your uniform and badge, kiss your loved ones, and head out to face whatever risks might come your way."
Police officers, he added, were "fighting an unrelenting, never-ending fight against criminal predators in our society. While there are battles won and lost each day, there is never a final resolution ‐ a final victory is never in sight."

Revealing the systemic coup between Bruce Ohr and Christopher Steele
[COMMDIGINEWS] July congressional hearings reveal that DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s team conducted a two-day interview in London with British ex-spy . Thus beginning to unpeel the onion on DOJ abuse of powers. Steele is the author of the unsubstantiated and salacious dossier attacking President Trump, creating the Russia Hoax.
The truth is coming home to roost.
The facts emerging are that Steele’s anti-Trump bias was well known at or about the November 2016 presidential election. Despite the many red flags, the DOJ, including operative Bruce Ohr’s bias, the initial FISA applications did rely on the dossier. A dossier that holds no truth.
Attorney General William Barr and the for John Durham both said that the focus of their investigation would be on "unauthorized surveillance" and "political surveillance". The Durham investigation will inevitably focus on , James Clapper, and . The implications of what comes out will be earthshaking.
Before the FBI applied for its first FISA warrant, bureau officials were battling with a senior Justice Department official who had "continued concerns" about the "possible bias" of a source pivotal to the application. (FBI clashed with DOJ over potential ’bias’ of source for surveillance warrant: McCabe-Page texts) Nonetheless, Jim Comey signed off on the FISA warrant applications to surveil the Trump campaign.
This despite "an individual with links to the dossier" that was desperate that lose the eleciton. Once Trump won, Steele, Strozk, Comey, and Ohr were all "passionate" about him not ascending to the presidency.

With Latest Trump Dossier-DOJ News, How Many Heads Are Going To Roll ?
[Townhall] So, how many heads are going to roll in September? Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz is supposed to release his long-awaited report on Obama-era FISA abuses. The focal point centers on the DOJ’s FISA spy warrant against Carter Page, a former foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, which was secured thanks to the Clinton-funded opposition research project called the Trump dossier. It was compiled by ex-British spook Christopher Steele. It was unverified. It was biased. And the DOJ knew it. Not only that, former top DOJ official Bruce Ohr kept contacting Steele months after it was revealed his worked was biased (via Fox News):
The FBI formally documented the anti-Trump bias of British ex-spy Christopher Steele months before the November 2016 presidential election, yet used his unverified dossier in multiple Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court warrant application renewals, records obtained by Fox News show.
So, it was used to renew warrants against Page. Ohr’s wife, Nellie, worked for the research firm Fusion GPS, which was contracted by the Democrats to find dirt on Trump. GPS then reached out to Steele to compile the document.

AG Barr Uncovered 'Very Troubling Information' on 'Fraudulent' FISA Process
[Gateway Pundit] DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz is preparing a very damning report on James Comey’s conduct in the days leading up to his firing that will likely conclude he leaked classified information (memos) and lacked candor (lied).
According to a report out by award-winning investigative journalist John Solomon, Horowitz’s team referred James Comey for possible prosecution for leaking contents of his classified memos, but DOJ prosecutors under Bill Barr have decided to decline prosecution.
John Solomon does say however that Comey still isn’t out of the weeds yet and faces legal jeopardy in the ongoing investigation into FISA abuse and the origins of Spygate by US Attorney John Durham.
Comey’s ’Trump memos’ were supposedly classified after he gave them to his friend to leak to the New York Times ‐ this technical violation is what the DOJ used as an excuse not to prosecute Comey.
How convenient. The FBI changed the classification on Comey’s memos after they were leaked...coincidence? We think not.
On Wednesday night John Solomon went on with Sean Hannity to discuss the criminal charges against fired FBI Chief James Comey.
