Iran, Anti-Semitism, And Parallels From The Past
2015-03-06
...
Iran has worked feverishly to obtain that nuclear jewel, along the way reportedly establishing material and technology supply networks with Pakistan and North Korea and building geographically dispersed nuclear installations. In his book A Time for Betrayal, Reza Kahlili (a pseudonym for an Iranian Revolutionary Guard turned CIA agent) tells of Iran's efforts to obtain nuclear material. In one case, Iranian officials armed with billions of dollars attempted to buy a bomb from Pakistan. Luckily, Iran only succeeded in procuring blueprints and centrifuges. Ever since, however, Iran has continued at breakneck speed its attempt to achieve nuclear-weapon capacity, amassing a sizable enriched uranium stockpile and more than 19,000 uranium-processing centrifuges.

More On Fordo From The Ex-CIA Dòuble Agent

[Jpost] Ex-CIA man: Iran blast largest sabotage in decades

Former Revolutionary Guard tells 'Post' that such a blow to Fordow nuclear facility would harm Iran drastically.

Although it has not yet been verified, a report by Iranian dissident-turned CIA operative Reza Kahlili, which said a massive blast rocked Iran's key Fordow nuclear installation last week, continued to spread on Monday.

Iran's Atomic Energy Organization dismissed the claim as "Western propaganda," while The Sunday Times cited Israeli intelligence figures as confirming the claim.

Speaking to The Jerusalem Post on Monday, Kahlili expressed confidence that the alleged blast will receive "further coverage in the US," and that "more information" will become available to verify the incident.

"It's the largest case of sabotage in decades," Kahlili said. "This is the center of the Iranian nuclear program. It is essential for the regime, its activities and its nuclear program. If such a blow was given to Fordow, it definitely harms [Iran] drastically.

They were reaching for 20 percent uranium enrichment and were increasing output," he added.

Situated near the holy Shi'ite city of Qom, the existence of the Fordow enrichment plant, dug deep into a mountain, was kept secret by Iran until it was discovered by Western intelligence in 2009 -- and the question of how long it had been in operation remains unanswered.

Kahlili, a pseudonym used to protect him from the Iranian regime, published A Time To Betray in 2010, in which he described a journey which took him from the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) to being a CIA agent in the 1980s.

He now resides in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, and says he is in touch with a number of insiders in the Iranian intelligence and security communities, as well as the office of Iran's supreme leader.

Asked why satellite imagery was not being released of rescue efforts at Fordow, Kahlili said only state intelligence agencies have access to live satellite feeds.

"Why don't they put it out? My only assumption is that no one wants to take credit because of what the consequences could be by the regime," he told the Post. "This is a very sensitive time. I'm sure that soon, very soon, more information will leak out. Chatter will get loud enough to provide further information."

Kahlili went on to say that within the Islamic Theocratic Republic the "first suspicion is Israel."

"I have verified information that there was a meeting [called by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali] Khamenei. A decision was made to act in Leb. A request was made to [Hezbollah chief Hassan] Nasrallah to vacate southern Lebanese villages.

Islamic Theocratic Republic guards are on their way there. A decision has been made to prepare for missile launch from a certain area in Leb against Israel," he said.

Kahlili said one of the sources who initially leaked information of the blast came from within the security forces guarding Fordow, adding that precise information of the attack was not being released in order to protect the source.

"The source has been collaborating for a long time," he said.

A second source came from the Iranian Intelligence Ministry, he said, adding that it was very difficult to safely get information out of Iran.

Iranian authorities have not yet made any progress in their attempt to enter Fordow, Kahlili asserted, adding, "I fear there is radiation involved."

Iran's Defense Ministry dispatched drilling vehicles, "the same they used to carve tunnels and create underground facilities, to see if they can make any headway in opening emergency exits, because they collapsed.

Among those stuck in the facility are dozens of foreign nationals. These are contracted scientists," he said.

Kahlili said a second mysterious blast occurred in Tehran last week, at an IRGC base called "21 Hamza."

"There are injuries, and there have been arrests of IRGC members who are being questioned. The Intelligence Ministry suspects sabotage," he added.

Meanwhile,
...back at the buffalo wallow, Tex and his new-found Indian friend were preparing a little surprise for the bandidos...
the White House on Monday threw cold water on reports of an kaboom at Fordow.

"We don't believe those are credible reports," White House front man Jay Carney said in response to questions on the subject from news hounds. "We have no information that would confirm them."

Carney also expressed frustration that Iran has not agreed to a new round of talks with the P5+1 world powers in Istanbul at the end of January, despite the world power's having "shown flexibility" in the time and place of its offer.

"Iran, not for the first time, has been continuing putting forward new conditions as a delaying tactic, and negotiations about negotiations is a familiar tactic that only results in further isolation and more pressure on Iran, so it will not achieve anything," Carney declared.

He added, however, that contact on talks is continuing and new dates in February have been offered to the

Iran: Obama Sent Secret Message Recognizing Our Nuclear Rights
2012-10-22
This gets the salt tag. Champ can't possibly be this stupid -- or he knows he's going to lose the election no matter what and really wants to monkey-wrench Romney.
Last week, Reza Kahlili, a former Revolutionary Guard member wrote that Iran had reached a deal with the Obama Administration to preserve portions of its nuclear program.

Hossain Ebrahimi told reporters yesterday that Obama sent the regime a secret message. On Saturday, the Iranian regime confirmed this report.

The Iranian regime revealed on Saturday that the Obama Administration sent them a secret message through the Swiss Embassy recognizing their nuclear rights. The Swiss government, acting through its Embassy in Tehran, serves as protecting power for U.S. interests in Iran.

Fars News reported via Weasel Zippers:

Senior Iranian parliamentary sources revealed on Saturday that the Swiss envoy to Tehran has quoted US President Barack Obama as acknowledging Iran’s nuclear rights.

Swiss Ambassador to Tehran Livia Leu Agosti attended a meeting with senior Iranian foreign ministry officials a few days ago to submit a letter from the US president to Tehran leaders.

Vice-Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hossein Ebrahimi told FNA that during the meeting, Agosti had told the Iranian officials that President Barack Obama recognizes Iran’s right of access and use of the nuclear technology.

“There are a couple of points with regard to this (US) message (to Iran),” Ebrahimi said and added, “Firstly, during the session to submit the message, the Swiss ambassador to Tehran quoted the US president as saying that ‘we (the US) recognize your nuclear rights’.”

As regards the second issue, the lawmaker said that the Swiss diplomat had also quoted Obama as saying that “I didn’t want to impose sanctions on your central bank but I had no options but to approve it since a Congress majority had approved the decision.”

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast said on Sunday that Iran has received a US message regarding the Strait of Hormoz via three different channels.

“The US Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice had handed a letter to Iran’s Ambassador to the UN Mohammad Khazayee; the Swiss Ambassador to Tehran (Livia Leu Agosti) also conveyed the same thing; and Iraqi President Jalal Talabani delivered the same message to Iranian officials,” he said last Sunday.

The US letter follows threats by Iran last month to shut off the Strait of Hormoz – the world’s most important oil shipping lane – if new US and EU sanctions over its nuclear program halted Iranian oil exports.

Iran Committed To 'Full Annihilation Of Israel,' Says Top Iranian Military Commander
2012-05-23
By Reza Kahlili
A taste. More, with links, at the link.
Iran is dedicated to annihilating Israel, the Islamic regime's military chief of staff declared Sunday.

"The Iranian nation is standing for its cause and that is the full annihilation of Israel," Maj. Gen. Hassan Firouzabadi said in a speech to a defense gathering Sunday in Tehran.
Thus neatly, and in a bluff and forthright military manner, putting paid to all arguments that the mullahcracy of Iran objects to the existence of the Jewish state, while wishing no harm to the Jews who live there -- and anyone who claims otherwise is relying on mistranslations of Ahmadenijad's or Khameini's or Khomeini's statements.
His remarks came on the day International Atomic Energy Agency director Yukiya Amano flew to Tehran to negotiate for inspections of Iran's nuclear program. They were reported by the Fars News Agency, the media outlet of the Revolutionary Guards Corps.

While many within the Islamic regime, including President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, have often stated that Israel should be annihilated, until Sunday no one in the nation's leadership has announced Iran's determined intention to carry it out. Josh Block, a Middle East expert and former spokesman for  the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, told The Daily Caller that it's unwise to shrug off the threats of a top Iranian military commander.

"When they say it, they mean it," Block said. "That is the lesson of history. We had best heed that reality. You can be sure the Israelis already understand it."

Why Iran Thinks America Won't Attack
2012-03-23
By Reza Kahlili

Iran's leaders believe that with the current global economic climate, specifically in the United States and Europe, and it being an American election year, the talks of a military option to take out the nuclear facilities amount to a bluff.  They believe they hold the key to President B.O.'s re-election, as any instability in the region and in the price of energy will send America back into a severe recession.

More dangerous is their belief that even a limited conflict with America will help their status as the leader of a worldwide Islamic movement and trigger the downfall of regimes in the region more friendly to the U.S.; help the Syrian regime out of its current crisis; and push the military junta out of power in Egypt, helping solidify control by the Moslem Brüderbund.

As the Iranian strategist Mehdi Mohammadi recently stated, as Iran progresses on the nuclear front, the West will realize that not only will a military option no longer work, but neither will sanctions.  Then the West will have to accept a nuclear Iran.

Iranian leaders also believe that since Israel would now have to act alone, it will not risk thousands of missiles from many fronts raining down on Tel Aviv and ultimately will also accept a nuclear Iran.

Most of all, they believe that once Iran is nuclear-armed, the West will be checkmated, as the cost of any confrontation at that time would be the destruction of the world.

Iran's grand ayatollahs: Earth belongs to Muslims, end is near
2012-02-24
Many in the Islamic regime believe that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who became the Iranian supreme leader after Khomeini's death, is the chosen one to pass the flag of Islam to Imam Mahdi. In fact, statements made by close associates of Khamenei indicate that the supreme leader himself is convinced that he is the one who will trigger the coming.

Mahdi, in Shiite belief, will reappear at the time of Armageddon.

The holy mans in Iran have set up a center in the city of Qom specifically to track signs for the coming as they rely on centuries of hadiths from Muhammad and his descendants that have predicted signs in which the end of times will come and the last Islamic Messiah will reappear, killing all infidels and those who won't convert to Islam and raising the flag of Islam across the globe.

The coming of Mahdi only awaits these last signs, as all of the signs that the hadiths herald have already taken place: Chaos, famine and havoc will engulf the Earth; major wars with dark clouds (atomic wars) will burn the Earth; one-third of the Earth's population will be killed, and the rest will suffer hunger and lawlessness.

As revealed last year, an Iranian secret documentary, "The Coming Is Upon Us," clearly indicates that the bully boyz ruling Iran believe that worldwide war and the destruction of Israel will trigger the coming of the last Islamic Messiah.

Iran Inching Closer to Nukes
2010-07-13
In an article reported by Reuters today, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that Iran is moving closer to possessing the potential which in principle could be used for the creation of nuclear weapons.

The is one of the first times that Russia, who has traditionally been a steadfast ally and supporter of Iran, has publicly criticized the regime and conceded that it is moving closer to obtaining nuclear weapons.

This follows comments made last Friday during a conference held at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy, by Reza Kahlili, a former Iranian Revolutionary Guard and defector to the CIA, in which he accused the Obama Administration of naiveté and of betraying the Iranian people in their struggle for freedom by seeking to engage the brutal Iranian regime.

Khalili warned that the Iranian regime was irrational:

Stop dreaming, please. You are not dealing with rational people. Every time you extend a hand, it is not seen as sincerity, but stupidity.

Prophetically, Kahlili said of Iran:

This is a messianic regime. There should be no doubt -- they are going to commit the most horrendous suicide bombing in human history. They will attack Israel, European capitals, and (the) Persian Gulf region at the same time.

In order to stop this 'most horrendous suicide bombing in human history', Khalili called for a pre-emptive strike. "The question is -- is it going to be more destabilizing now or when they have the nukes" he asked. Khalili stressed that any such attack ought to be specifically directed against the Revolutionary Guards and not the Iranian people or the country's infrastructure.

Importantly, Khalili said that any attack must be simultaneously accompanied by a vocal announcement of the support for freedom in Iran "and the people will do the rest". The ultimate goal Khalili proclaimed must be the overthrow of the brutal regime.

Khalili's comments echo those of Yousef Al-Otaiba, the UAE Ambassador to the United States, who -- only days ago -- spoke of the dangers of a nuclear armed Iran and said that the benefits of bombing Iran's nuclear program outweigh the short term costs of such an attack.

The question remains though -- is the world paying attention to these warnings?

An Iranian Secret Agent's Message to America
2010-04-06
Via InstaPundit
As the world watches, Iran is in the final stages of transforming into a nuclear-armed state. Reza Aslan talks to a former Revolutionary Guard turned CIA agent about what's at stake.

Reza Kahlili is the pseudonym for a former member of Iran's Revolutionary Guard who worked as a CIA agent throughout the 1980s and 1990s. In his new book, A Time to Betray, Kahlili describes in vivid detail how his hopes that the 1979 revolution, which overthrew Iran's Western-backed dictator Muhammad Reza Pahlavi, would lead to a free and democratic Iran were dashed when he saw with his own eyes the unspeakable horrors that the new Islamic republic wrought on the Iranian people. After the regime executed his childhood friend, Kahlili had had enough. While on a visit to the United States, he reached out to the CIA and offered his services as a spy. He then spent the next decade providing detailed information to U.S. intelligence agencies about the inner workings of Iran's dreaded Revolutionary Guard, as well as the regime's race to build a nuclear weapon. As Kahlili claims in this exclusive interview with The Daily Beast's Reza Aslan, Iran will be a nuclear-armed state in the very near future. And, as far as Kahlili is concerned, the only way to stop that from happening may be to attack Iran now, before it gets a nuclear weapon.
