#1 With modern pretend-open-source software, it basically amounts to: only the hardware manufacturers are allowed to make money, software writers aren't, and Americans aren't allowed to make any hardware. But no, you can't see what's in the binary blobs that come with the software, and you can't put a generic version of linux or android on the phone either.
