#1 The Times report did not reveal the evidence Rosenstein relied on to authorize extension of the surveillance.

No doubt the same "evidence" used to initiate the surveillance.

#2 At the time of Rosenstein's appointment in April of 2017, the Democrats in the senate had already begun their anti-Trump resistance, which involved blocking or attempting to block everything Trump wanted to do.
Yet they approved Rosenstein's appointment with very few dissensions
Why did they do that? What did they know that caused them to make an exception to their policy in his case?
Does anyone know the answer?
