#1 G(r)om,

The law of averages is going to catch up with them sometime. Keep in mind as well that it may not have been Syrian AAA fire that brought them down -we've lost at least one F-16 over Afghanistan due to mechanical problems. The good news though is that the crew is safe at home and recovering.

#2 one of Israel's major assets was Arabs' belief in IAF's absolute superiority.

Sometimes both sides believe the publicity.

#6 From Daily Mail where America gets it's news.

I was up all night watching this scrum. It's Iran.

#7 Did the Russians lend some assistance to the Iranians in retaliation for this:
'US kills more than 100 Assad regime fighters in largest deliberate strike against Syrian government forces' ?

#9 Don't send expensive aircraft and crew to do what surface to surface missiles can do.

#10 Flak Trap? The IAF lost much of the 1967 War aura of invincibility during the early stages of 1973 Yom Kippur War for the same reason: predictability. Of course the F-16 could simply be one of those Golden BB random events that can happen to anyone.
