Egyptian court dismisses last corruption case against Mubarak-era steel tycoon Ahmed Ezz

#1 Ahmed Ezz got off cheap. In 2011 Attorney General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud referred the steel magnate to the Cairo Criminal Court on charges of money laundering. The public prosecution accused Ezz of laundering 6.429 billion Egyptian pounds of illegally acquired funds. Ezz will now have to pay 1.7 billion, which should leave him with sufficient taxi fare to keep him happy. Ironically, despite having a reputation for honesty Meguid Mahmoud was hounded from office by Muslim Brother Mo. Morsy.
