#6 I'd say that at least 49% of the population are either foreign interlopers or TWANLOC with no interest in the success of the U.S. Add in the useful idiots and LIVs (not already covered under TWANLOC classification), and you've got well over the 51% needed for any vote. Americans the electorate is not.
