Anyway, wherever did she get the idea that being part Indian would be a good thing in an election? Where is she going to find racists to vote for her? That would be stupid, wouldn't it?

#5 Isn't 1/32 a small enough fraction that even during the height of segregation you could count as 'white' with that much black heritage? How much Jewish heritage did it take for the Nazis to murder non-practicing Jews? The whole idea that one of your ancestors 200 years ago should make any difference today is nuts. But apparently it makes a difference in Affirmative Action.

#9 The whole idea that one of your ancestors 200 years ago should make any difference today is nuts. Unless they, acting as sovereign powers, signed treaties with the United States which were duly ratified. Unless you consider the US Constitution "nuts".

"Apartheid" is dood. It was replaced by the African National Congress (ANC) and garden variety communism, masquareding as democracy. Any similarities to our current leadership in Washington and our hopeless state of affairs is purely coincidental. [snark off]
