#2 If you sail out to re-dock your ships at ports outside of missile and drone range, is that a retreat? I guess, maybe, but feel repositioning might be a better word for it.

But you just ceded control of the western Black sea to Ukraine. Strategic retreat/repositioning? Yes. But with the oil rigs you have given Ukraine carte blanche to hit all of western and southern Crimea.

#7 Also think of this in game terms. You have to score 500 strategic points to win. This is worth 20-40. With the oil rigs, Russian navy gone and longer range anti ship and anti-air missiles being brought in Ukraine can ship grain unimpeded. The Russian blockade has gone from a farce to a complete joke and humiliation.

Wouldn't count out Russia in that area yet, but old Mr. 'Mo (momentum) has joined Ukraine and he is a bitch to get back on your side. Can happen. See the battle of Midway or Stalingrad, but hard to do and expensive in equipment and lives.
