#2 NUUK AIRPORT has a 3117 foot long airport built into the granite. You have to have STOL aircraft like DeHavilland Dash-8 and Dash-7s to transport people in any quantity. If I remember right, the airport is closed on Sundays. Nuuk is a neat place, with Inuit and European flavors.

#3 More like a dumping place for bad party leaders and generals they don't want to just shoot. They could probably lease facilities in Siberia, but still too close to home.
