#2 Pretty simple to me. Declare the area within 5 miles of the border a free fire zone from sunrise to sunset.

A few UAV airstikes would go a long way to discourage the smuggling.

Anf I don't care how culturally insensitive it would be to the nomadic tribes. As long as American boots are on the ground and getting killed by Iranian IED's, we have a duty to those soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines to to do our very best to bring them home in one piece.
