#1 The Beacon Journal's been getting very, very thin of late. They can't have much ad revenue anymore.

#3 To the contrary, the DS&TP has recently expanded, we now have two front page editors instead of one. Things are looking up for the Scimitar even though advertising revenues haven't changed.

#4 It's a bit like cutting sales staff at the auto mall because profits are falling. It makes sense - but you aren't going to increase your profits by doing it.
