#1 Is the crime really 'Assault with a dangerous weapon' or is it 'Animal cruelty'? Only the latter would explain such a harsh potential sentence in lib-land.

#3 The hedgehog was dead by the time police arrived at the scene, although it is not known whether it was still alive at the time of the assault in February.

What kind of person hurls dead animals at others? Or hurls a live one so hard that he kills it?
