#2 Chrissie Hynde? I can see her as a spokesmodel for organic burkas, but nothing that would be glamourous.

#3 Bottom line, the average granola can’t afford a pair of $200 eco-friendly denim jeans. Obviously, there needs to be a tax on the capitalist garment industry to subsidize the sustainable clothing sector. Also, governments will need to develop price control mechanisms to address the remaining cost inequity. This will also require an international fund to distribute wealth to the third world countries trying to establish labor unions. And maybe there should be a huge global conference for bureaucrats and activists to call attention to this injustice.

In Bali or some other expensive tropical place (on our dime, of course), DepotGuy?

#6 No first you have a luncheon in some exotic place to discuss holding a meeting in some other exotic location to discuss holding a pre-conference meeting where the final conference agenda and attendees are hand selected.

Then you have the actual conference (again in some exotic location - preferably somewhere with plenty of 5-star hotels and hookers) followed up by a couple of follow-up meetings.

Then you decide on a list of talking points to advance the agenda and issue that as the 'final report'.

#8 Question: What's the difference between Chrissie Hynde and the Statue of Liberty?

#9 "Question: What's the difference between Chrissie Hynde and the Statue of Liberty?"

I have no idea who that is, S.A.M., but is the answer "the Statue of Liberty wears clothes"?

#10 I gotta say, for pushing 60, Chrissie's looking pretty good.

Now I definitely don't wanna know who she is.

Seriously...you don't know who she is? She was/is the lead singer for The Pretenders.

And, as was previously commented on, she doesn't look too bad for a 60 year old rocker with some hard miles on her. Not to mention that she's been rode hard and put away wet a few times. 8-)

#14 "Seriously...you don't know who she is? She was/is the lead singer for The Pretenders."

Seriously, S.A.M., I never heard of her before. I also don't know who they are, though from your context I suppose they're some sort of musical group. Loud, probably.

The last CD I purchased (the only one in years) was Susan Boyle's "I Dreamed a Dream."

Just a guess, but I doubt these Pretenders would fit anywhere within my musical tastes.

YMMV.

Nothing wrong with that. You didn't miss anything. They formed in 78, and had so many memorable hits that I can't recall any off the top of my head. Chrissie is more famous for her...um...mileage. IYKWIMAITYD! 8-)

#18 I listen to El Rushbo infrequently, don't ever recall paying attention to the theme song. I was never big into music.
