#1 Has there ever been a notable act of terrorism, or even mayhem, involving a pipe bomb?
It's kind of amateur hour, you have to light the fuse like fireworks.
The cops still act like you've been caught with a suitcase nuke though.
Besides, who doesn't like blowing shit up?

#4 Bigjim - 50 years ago (My heavens! Time flies!) some friends of mine borrowed some chemicals from high school chemistry class, made a tight roll of typing paper and created a sort of a "pipe bomb" with cherry bomb fuse.

Having a LOT of magnesium in the mix, it lit up the night sky and split a 4x4 post from the ground to the top.

Terrorists? Not even juvenile delinquents.
