#4 The more famous SF bridge, the Golden Gate, was built with steel forged in Pennsylvania by American workers thankful to have a job during the great depression.
I need to ask Mr Google why Bethlehem Steel didn't bid on the current project...

#5 Bethlehem Steel didn't bid because it went out of existence in 2003, as US industrial capacity was shipped overseas at cut rates. Couldn't compete with slave labor and environmental arbitrage.
