#1 Gonna be an interesting primary.

#2 FTA: A generic Republican continues to lead President Obama in a hypothetical 2012 election matchup. I think Obama has more support than current polls indicate and that GOP candidates are a lot weaker than they seem. A country stupid enough to elect Obama once is stupid enough to re-elect him. The US is in the early stages of idiocracy led by an oligarchy.

#3 I'm still looking for Bammo to get a primary opponent, and possibly even drop out of the race.

#4 Not so sure: in 2008 anyone, really anyone, even a person with zero experience or accomplishment and a shady past could be elected provided he had a black skin. And despite an economic crisis put at the feet of the Republicans (despite the fact that the people who were managing the economy ie the Congress were democrats), the MSM unanimous support, loooots of money (much of it illegal) and most important, having an opponet as stupid and uninspiring as McCain (his waltzing about stopping the campaign was pathetic) he won by a small margin.

In 2012 many of 2008 Obama's voters will be ridden of white man's guilt. And the economy is taking a turn for the worse.

#5 In 2012 many of 2008 Obama's voters will be ridden of white man's guilt. I want to see poll results from those who voted for Obama in 2008, what would they do if they had to do it over again.

#6 And the economy is taking a turn for the worse. It's been on a downhill course since at least 2007. Of course a declining economy will have ups and downs all the way to the bottom. The collapsing Roman Empire also had its ups & downs as it dissolved into barbarian kingdoms.

#7 Polls, polls, polls. Ho hum. They tell me nothing. Is there a media outlet anywhere out there that will tell me what these candidates have to say?

#9 Believe it or not, I have received apologies from a few.

My guess is that if they were transported back to election day 2008, they would go buy gold instead of voting.

#10 These numbers are from early polls. I suppose Perry will now have a target on his back so far as the Donks go. The Donk strategy is the same as ever: Demonize and attack the front runner.

All House members and 33 Senate seats are up for election too. Democrats have 23 seats up for election, including 2 independents who caucus with the Democrats; Republicans are only expected to have 10 seats up for election. Another good chance to trim the deadwood out of Congress. I know, I know this probably makes me sound like a racist or terrorist according to those in Washington.

#11 The only reason Perry has a target on his back is GORE.

That's all and for me that's enough.

I'll vote for the heathen Mormon, Guiliani or maybe JEB!

#12 In the way of RBeee.... he is a RINO.

#13 Perry has made some mistakes during his governance.

He supported an ill conceived plan to widen Interstates using private funds that never materialized.

He used a heavy handed approach to getting woman vaccinated for HPV.

He supported Gore in 1988 (in the Democratic primaries).

To his credit, he admitted mistakes in all three cases.

#14 The HPV vaccination order was not as onerous as people have been saying. There was an option for parents to opt out, and making the vaccine mandatory was the only way to get insurance companies to cover the three $120 shots.

As for Gore, National Review supported him in the democratic primaries too. At the time, he was fairly conservative for a Dem.

#15 He supported an ill conceived plan to widen Interstates using private funds that never materialized.

Toll roads. Lots are being built. Allegations of crony capitalism w/ foreign toll road operators. Near me is one being built. They rerouted the existing urban highway so that the unsuspecting motorist who does not exit is forced onto the toll road. I and many of my neighbors refuse to use it.

#16 This is a pretty good rundown on the kind of nonsense the left will use against Perry:

Personally, the more they attack the better I think he must be :-)
