Since everyone sees the thrice a day campaign stops for a speech and three fund raisers, they need to make it look like he's doing something. Since he is getting killed even in the MSM by the gas prices, poof, the brave commander in chief staring at barber wire and skinny NORKS, gee how inspiring.
