Iran does not have a diplomatic presence in the US, contrary to the impression this article tries to maintain.
Today, there are no formal diplomatic relations between Iran and the United States. Due to poor relations between the two countries, instead of exchanging ambassadors Iran maintains an interests section at the Pakistani embassy in Washington, D.C.,[1] while the United States, since 1980, has maintained an interests section at the Swiss embassy in Tehran.[2]
