#2 There are several countries around the world that are trying to deal with the political headache of accommodating a Muslim region within a larger framework of different groups/tribes. Examples include the Philippines & Nigeria. It's pretty near impossible to meet the demands of the hardline Islamics when they essentially want their own autonomous region governed by Sharia law. That demand boils down to a declaration of independence - of sorts.
The Moros have a long history of jungle & ocean warfare - they were fierce fighters and pirates in the times that the Spaniards occupied the Philippines. They will not "go quietly into the night".

By most accounts regional Jihadis Groups are still funneling $$$, arms, + fighters into the Southern PHIL + elsewhere in SE Asia. IN addition, AFAIK Turkey + Pakistan + Iran are negotiating wid Rising China for Basing, MWR rights vee Hainan island. Lastly, INDIAN MUSLIM ACTIVIST GROUPS ARE WARNING THAT A VIOLENT EXPLOSION/BACKLASH MAY OCCUR AGZ NEW DELHI IFF IT KEEPS REJECTING OR FAILING TO MAKE SUCH REFORMS WHEREBY MINORITY INDIAN MUSLIM SOCIAL, ECON RIGHTS ETC. ARE PAR WID THE MAJORITY HINDUS.
