#1 Meh. Along with some commentary about how Ogabe's wrecked the "progressive" brand for the near future (true), there's more of the usual preachy MSM bullshit...Republicans are icky racists and their only hope for the long term is to appeal to the 20 million illiterate campesinos both the Quislingrats and the Republicans' corporatist wing have imported over the last 30 years.

#2 Polling of the Latino's in Texas show a larger percentage of them unhappy with Obambi now. Obamacae is biting a lot of them in the pocket book and reducing the number of full time jobs they used to get. Also abortion, especially third trimester abortion is not popular among them even among the ones who are not Catholic. While the majority probably won't vote for Republicans, enough of them are to make it pretty much impossible for Wendy Davis to win anything and the Dem's hope of turning Texas Blue despite the money they've thrown into the state,boobs up in the fish bowl.

#7 They come here in order to have kids born in the USA - the majority of babies born in border counties are of illegal immigrant parents - lots of whom head for the border when contractions start. Are we going to turn them away at the hospital if they don't produce ACA papers? Of course not; we'll hand them voter registration papers.

#8 More of an erosion of the Democrat brand than a resurgence of the Republican. After all, what have Republicans offered to distinguish themselves? Amnesty. More spending. Free ride for Obama's lawlessness.

Conservative politics have enduring popularity -- that is among just about every group save politicians of either stripe. Ever notice how Democrats always run to the right of their actual beliefs? Ever notice how Republicans do the same?

#10 But they are. I'm a Libertarian type myself: but the odds of me switching from Republican to Libertarian are roughly less than zero. Oh, if the Republicans nominate Chris Christie I might vote for Gary Johnson (or whatever kook they run) out of disgust, but I won't switch parties.
