#1 The US State Department later expressed its condolences to the boy's family, and called for "a speedy and transparent investigation, and will remain closely engaged with the local authorities, who have the lead on this investigation." It urged calm from both sides to "avoid escalating tensions."

You might want to wait for the results of that trial before you start expressing condolences.

#3 Paleosimians!

Is that an ad hominid attack?

As for the State Department, I wouldn't get too torqued over anything that comes out of there. Even their own mothers don't believe them at this point.

#10 Algiers is part of New Orleans; it's a little sliver of Orleans Parish proper on the West Bank of the river. (Most of the West Bank is other parishes, and in Louisiana cities proper can't cross parish boundaries).
