#1 1. Holding it is another matter.

2. And speaking of holding, the Talibs likely took Kunduz more as a "look what we can do" move. The question is whether it was intended for:

a. The world audience as a display of Talib prowess,
b. Other jihad organizations, for the same reason,
c. The Afghan government as a display of Pakistani retribution,
d. Internal consumption for the division-ridden Taliban.
