#2 IIRC the US itself is being accused of "illegally" occupying + expanding an old airstrip at Rmeilia in Syria near northern Kurdistan/KAR, + widout the consent of Baby Assad's Govt.

Russia or the US, the new Airbases are being built in a strategic region close to the borders of several regional players - Syria, Turkey, Iraq, KAR [northern Iraq], Jordan, + Caucasus [Russia].

MOSCOW WANTS TO INTIMIDATE TURKEY, THE US WANTS TO PROTECT NATO ALLY TURKEY, + BOTH THE US + MOSCOW WANT TO CONTAIN OR PREVENT THE FURTHER SPREAD OF THE ISIS.
