#6 Al J Arabic probably loses a few tens of millions a year and their other ventures are also probably net money losers also. The Al J's attempt to establish a channel in the USA probably cost the Qatar Govt (who owns the company) more than all their other ventures combined.

Of course the Qatari govt has money to burn and the station has enormous influence in the Arab world, in the arab speaking populations of Europe and it has also become a major influence of non arab journalism in Europe. Much of the anti semitism, anti USA, etc. attitudes of the Euro journalists (or 'journalists') comes from association with the Al J folk.

#9 As a media type, I thought Al Jizz America was rather good old school journalism (as opposed to so much political advocacy and infotainment that the MSM is today), at least when I dealt with them.

But because of their reputation elsewhere, you couldn't take them seriously and would not cooperate with them, even when the subject matter was legit.
