#1 So, the area in the VIC of Kandahar Airfield is still not secure after fok'n how many years? Let me see, 2001 would be 15 years. I think we have a much larger problem in play here, but this is an NPR fluff piece, so I won't go into the details or discuss neighboring Pakistan.

#2 OK, the Americans won't fire on 'unarmed' Taliban - but what about the Afghan commandos they were supporting? Can't the GB direct the Afghans to them? And they wouldn't even need to worry about being counterattacked.

#3 My guess [and only a guess] is that the AFG Army killed them all, right then or later. But that wouldn't be a suitable outcome for an NPR story, would it ?
