The alleged "coup" bears looking into at some depth. It might also be prudent to examine current western relationships and alliances with the Erdogan government.

#7 Three years ago when the US wanted to use Incirlik as a drone base Turkey said no. Only when its relationship with Europe deteriorated and its support for Islamists became obvious did Erdogan OK its use (and no one has yet to say what Uncle Sugar is paying for the privilege).

#8 And the US was burned by Turkish govt in OIF who jacked us around for 2 weeks and then denied us transit rights across Turkey for 4ID. They are not trustworthy. Out of Incirlik AB before we get burned some more. Now the US and Russia have something in common: both been burned by Turkey.
