#1 Trump should merely ensure all visitors are insured.
Win for America
Win For insurers
Win for legitimate Travellers.

#6 CNN opinionated reporting.
The numbers in the report from State are approximate at best. Use them as a baseline.
Blending 'source of' with 'operations in' introduces error conditions.

The third map is telling with moderate/victim states north of the Med and source states below. Australia details are sadly lacking.

CNN projects 10 million from the visa count. 7 million 'no visa required' from the north countries, 3 million from the south.

TSA 'screened' 700 MILLION passengers in 2015. Many would have been round trip repeats, but the control system and traveling public accommodated the brief inspection.

A scrub on 10 million is a good start.

#8 Can someone educate me what "immigration" means in that context?

a) temporary visits (for tourism, business etc.)
b) permanent stay (working visa etc.)

#10 This is what the government has to say on the subject, European Conservative: link. Bottom line, permanent stay visas are for family members of citizens and permanent residents, special classes of high-value workers, refugees, and winners of the "diversity" immigration lottery.

Temporary visas are for business, tourism, and visiting trips, fixed term work, and study.

#11 tw, thanks but I just don't get what Trump means by "suspend immigration".

He really isn't the guy to clarify what he says.

Btw the Germans who move to the U.S. are usually not Muslims, and usually not the dumbest.
