#1 He knows he does not want to run against anyone else for sure, but he did do good with this.

#4 Graciousness after the other side threw the 'Deplorable' remark. Well played.

#5 Doesn't want to peak too early.
No need to push, she falls by herself.

#6 Typically, Mr. Trump’s words and actions reflect his go-for-the-jugular mentality. But in recent days he has shown what is for him remarkable restraint.

No need to go for the jugular. Just hang back and wait for her to bleed out.

#8 Trump's restraint is not "unusual" if one recognizes that his behavior is classically Jacksonian. Per Walter Russel Mead, Jacksonians religiously follow a "Tit for Tat" strategy: fight honorably in response to honorable fighting, and you will be rewarded with honorable behavior, fight despicably, and expect to pay dearly.

What happened to Shrillary was unfortunate, but it was NOT an attack on Trump, so he did not "attack". Shrillary's "Deplorable" comment was not directed at Trump, but at his followers, so he responds in a way different than if he would be attacked personally.

We desperately need a Jacksonian president at this time, and I see this as proof that, once sworn in, he'll live up to the responsibilities inherent in the Office and do what it takes to defend us, and allow our military to respond to any and all aggressions against us in a manner that would deter others in a satisfying way.
