#2 A real hunger strike is just slow motion suicide. It might work if someone cared if you live or die. In this guy's case, nobody cares.

#3 Well, we can only hope that he is successful with his latest hunger strike venture. A quick google search reveals ole Jihad's sins: A Syrian terrorist that:

- hosted Abu Musab Al Zarqawi to stay in his house;
- was an expert forger;
- was a member of Asbat Al Ansar;
- wanted to attend the Khalden training camp, but attended the Khandahar airport camp instead;
some senior al Qaida members resented his assumption that he could attend an al Qaida camp without being vetted;
- some senior al Qaida members were suspicious of him because of his ties to takfiris;
