Regardless of whatever source it was obtained from, it still holds a Confidential classification. Rantburg is a public site. We've been slamming Madame Secretary Clinton for the practice of misusing and abusing classified information; let's not repeat her actions.

#5 Anyone interested in Dostom and the effort by Clinton and Petraeus to halt his move from exile in Turkey to Afghanistan can access recent Wikileaks cables -- (C) and all.

No need to become nettled. Several here have been trained in 'Non-Disclosure.' The intent on this site has always been to keep everything UNCLAS.

#6 Shick de Medici6262 dear, you've very kindly fed my greed for knowledge recently, and I know that post was intended in the same vein. But some Rantburgers can get in serious trouble with their management if they read things they do not either have the classification rating for or haven't been read in on (if that's the proper terminology) that particular project. We had to be similarly careful back when Edward Snowden's trove of NSA documents was released. Very frustrating, but there it is.

Question to those who know: would I be correct in assuming UNCLAS means unclassified?

#7 Also keep in mind that there are a lot of DoD people and military that read here. Classified information, even on wikileaks is still classified and they can get in trouble or be jailed for having any trace or cookie to it on their system.
