#3 Come to think of it, none of this makes sense. Why would the all-powerful SS pay premiums -- unless of course there was a kick-back to Himmler and his leadership.

#5 ...It's a matter of record that after Kristallnacht - which would have bankrupted several German insurance companies - Reichmarschall Hermann Goering sat down with the heads of all the German insurance companies and explained to them how it would work: They would only have to pay about half of what they owed, and an appreciable portion of that would go to him. There was some argument, but only to the extent that the insurance companies thought they were still paying too much.

With that in mind, I have no doubt that - especially once the war started - the companies happily cooperated.

#6 How does the SS, repeat the SS, paying premiums have anything to do with CONTROL? This seems to have been a kickback scheme pure and simple.
