#1 With every roll of chicken wire I unload at Amazon, I can't help but think of all the Sears catalog sales execs that must be spinning in their graves. Maybe the company could harness that energy for sale to raise xapitol.

#2 Darwin at work. Adapt or perish. For a Sears, there's an Amazon.

Kenmore is not long for the world either. Replace a 24 year Kenmore refrig at Sears, it was a pain. Fit their schedule, pay extra. Replaced a 18 year dishwasher at Lowes, they fit my schedule, free delivery, free take away, and a mil discount on top of an on going sale.

#3 The first Kenmore microwave I bought, that was in 1982, lasted until 2013. The second Kenmore microwave I bought, was in 2013, and it didn't last through that year.

#4 Oh great! Craftsman used to be a great brand, now that B&D is going to own it, it's gonna turn to crap. Might as well buy my tools from Harbor Freight as their quality is the same as Craftsman is going to be once B&D gets their grubby hands on it. HF much cheaper too, I do note that the quality of HF tools has been going up in the past few years.

#5 “only a New Orleans pimp would carry a pearl-handled gun!" own a tool from Harbor Freight.

Forgive me for being so critical, but the Chinese import thing is a personal mind worm for me.

#6 Sears will end up a rump state at this rate.

Bye bye, Craftsman. It was great.

#7 I gave up on Craftsman 10 years ago. I now buy Mac Tools or other high quality tools. Buy them once and they last for decades.

#8 Ugh! Black and Decker is going to buy Craftsman?
Craftsman used to make pretty good tools and their lifetime guarantee has been useful. Do you think B&D will still honor the lifetime guarantee?

B&D has always been crap.

#9 "Only a New Orleans pimp would carry a pearl-handled gun!" own a tool from Harbor Freight."

Not disputing that, just noting that HF tools tend to be better quality than B&D tools.

#10 That's a bummer - my garage is full of Craftsman stuff - drill (I've had it for about thirty years), circular saw (15 or 20), table saw, wrenches, socket sets and even my snowblower (some 18 HP Canadian model, bought at the Braintree MA Sears about five years ago), and they all work great. I agree that it looks like the brand's about to turn to shit.

#12 Craftsman hand tools used to be good; replacement policy now sux.

sears gas driven power tools work better as boat anchors. leaf blower lasted almost 6 hours.

when they bought kmart and then Lands End that was it; ruined both sears and LE.

#13 Hey Sam, it's time.

Time for what?

Time to wind down operations.

Hokay. Well start by selling off Craftsman and DieHard.

#14 Uh, Diehard is already gone. At least, when Sears bought NTW and Western Auto, they rolled Diehard into them.
