#2 I don't see the jihad crap ending anytime soon, sadly.

I do wonder why a herbicide program intended for the poppy fields has not been tried. Forget about the farmers, they are part of the problem.

I seem to recall that at one point we were, and providing farmers with seeds and training to grow substitute crops. But then the priority changed, possibly to hearts'n'minds, and it was decided letting them grow the stuff was not really a problem with worldwide impact far beyond the War on Terror.
