#1 I guess some regulation has already been removed - bleach bottle labels no longer include the % active ingredient. I need a certain concentration for my sewage system and can't tell if the 8% I need is now called 'concentrated' or is the plain 'bleach' bottle.

Normally household bleach is 5% by weight.

The basic equation translated from metric is
V1 x C1 = V2 x C2, where
V1 is the volume of what you want to measure in gallons
C1 is concentration in decimal
V2 is volume of chlorine needed in gallons
C2 is concentration of cholorine 5% or 0.05 or 5x 10^-2.
Solve for the unknown and there ya go.
