#1 ...My feeling: If this had happened in flight, subdue the miscreants and hogtie them until they land, then turn them over to the tender mercies of the United States Government. But on the freaking jetway? No. Get the passengers clear, call security, and let them sort it out.

YMMV, of course.

#5 I suppose charges of 'disturbing the peace' were never considered. Others to be considered are 'creating a public nuisance' and 'littering'.

Disrupting the process of natural selection should not be encouraged.

#10 I have been a Delta fan.
Be that as it may, Americans should know fight club is at the gate. Not in the tin can.
They are sick of the hassle it takes to travel and sick of the airlines just plain messing with them (as they see it)

It is a two sided coin in some cases.

We need to make traveling more enticing for travelers and commuters. Pre-check helps very much. I love that.

But the airlines may run themselves out of business as far as I care. But then, I run out of professional providers.

Time for flying cars.

#11 The airlines can (and are) sink(ing) themselves. Something will rise from the ashes, the won't throw away the hardware (aircraft).

Thinking back, the airline that always treated me best was Air France (Tokyo to Paris flights). In retrospect, it's a surprise, given their public reputation.
