#1 Is there an actual mission statement that defines the victory conditions? Bookending Iran with troops in Afghanistan and Iraq might even be a goal, but just kinetic pingpong with the Taliban seems insufficient. After 10+ years it's still mostly the 7th century there, with a lot of really well developed graft.
